    😎 Thanks bud.

For context - a little over a year ago I was saying the same crap to him that you guys are saying to me. I got banned from the steam forums over my heated arguments with this guy. I played killer to rank 1, saw what he and 95% of killer mains are talking about, and I've got his back as much as he has mine. I implore you all to do the same. It will really change your perspective on things.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/533953#Comment_533953

I wouldn't get to rank 1 killer if I couldn't run the killer shack. Just stop. It's not working.

    Just a small correction:

    Not a Killer main 😎

  • @BBQnDemogorgon said:

@miaasma increasing the detection zone 8% is a bug fix?

Yeah this is a bug fix, but oh man that fast vault change is super unhealthy for the game lmao

  • @miaasma said:

"you can infinite the shack if certain tiles are near it" wow, it's almost like this had nothing to do with the discussion until you moved the goal posts

yes shack is extremely strong NEXT to something else, i absolutely never said that shack cannot make strong setups, but shack by itself is not a god loop

shack is not an infinite and it's incredibly embarrassing that you're even making this argument

Except it is, because you seemed to miss the part where I said "you can even do this at the shack alone if you do it properly." Even then, it isn't moving the goal post because we are still talking about the shack. Infinites are still possible in several areas if certain tiles are spawned, which is another reason this change was made, which you seem to fail to understand.

Why do people read halfway and then assume they are right?

Once again, just because you don't know how yo infinite the shack doesn't mean it isn't actually possible. Learn how to break a chase for a split second.

  • @miaasma said:

shack was never a "god loop", it's just a strong loop

neutering it so that it can be fast vaulted under fewer conditions was not needed and is not a healthy change at all

you have people on this forum unironically saying that shack is an infinite though so i guess i can't be surprised at a response like yours

It was never neutered, it was made like this when the angle change was made a year ago. You were never meant to be able to fast vault the outside.

You can always fast vault from the inside. They made the change over a year ago to make loops more powerful in certain directions, and less so in others. The shack was one of them.

And you can easily infinite the shack if there is a T/L Wall near it. All you need to do is break the chase for a MOMENT and window blockers reset, as long as you have vaulted less than 3 times. You can even do this if you do it properly at the shack.

Just because YOU don't have the ability to turn the shack into an infinite doesn't mean others can't. Learn how the vault mechanics actually work.

  • @miaasma said:

oh my god thinking those killers naturally have a ton of trouble at killer shack

i don't have much else to say

Literally before this patch people were calling the shack a "God loop"

Now it isn't all of a sudden? Lol sounds like to me you're bad a looping the shack. When they made the angle change over a year ago, it was made to make some window loops more powerful in a particular direction.

If you loop from INSIDE the shack, you always fast vault. Looping outside was ALWAYS meant to do a medium vault cause of the 90 degree turn, unless you take a few extra steps to widen out then you can fast vault.

Survivors once again proving they think exploits are standard gameplay.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

There were so many people (including me) who already said during the PTB that the red flash gives headaches. I can't understand why the devs didn't remove the effect despite the clear feedback from the community.

    Because they don't listen?

  • @Paladin_Goo said:

Why? To re-enable the infinites? As a survivor main who has been playing a lot of killer for the blood hunt, I can say this was a good change. You can loop it a couple times, but after that you gotta boogie somewhere else.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/533531#Comment_533531

"One of the only things survivors have to their advantage"

You must be new. The advantages survivors have far outweigh that of the killer. Not opinion. Demonstrable fact.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/533723#Comment_533723

That's actually what I'd say to you. Can't survive without your little window infinites?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/533625#Comment_533625

Tell me, what "fair" loops will suffer from this? I'm dying to know, lol

I have your back on this one.

These changes don't affect normal fast vault areas. Haven't had any issues.

  • @Mr_Digi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/533699#Comment_533699

you do realize that the angle you would get a fast vault by was changed right? now you have to be almost at a 90 degree angle to get the fast vault... I agree that you should get a fast vault if youre too close ofc, but they didnt need to change the angle.. The meat-tree vault could be fixed by just making the wall a bit longer, then you wouldnt be able to fast vault. But instead of doing small changes like that, they change the vaults itself. Thats why i think its broken. They dont look at the actual problem areas, they break everything else to make it seem like its not broken

The angle was changed like, a year ago. They didn't adjust the angle in this patch.

This change doesn't affect normal vaults, no matter how much you act like it does. Vaults that you cannot get fast vaults anymore were NEVER supposed to have them in the first place.

If you can't fast vault, you either aren't supposed to, or your angle was bad. Two different issues.

  • @Mr_Digi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/533692#Comment_533692

So why not just fix those areas then? why break every other vault because of that?

This doesn't change fast vaulting in areas that you normally can fast vault.

You literally just press space half a second before you hit the wall and you get a fast vault.

This change hasn't affected my gameplay whatsoever, because I never waited until I touched the wall to vault in the first place. You have a good full second the prompt appears to get the vault.

Explain to me how this breaks vaults? Are you upset you can't fast vault from a standstill anymore or something, something that you were never meant to do in the first place?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/69835/why-cant-ghostface-be-purchased-with-iridescent-shards

He's a licensed killer so he can't be given out for free. If Ghostface was an original character, that would be different.

    Thing is, he is original.

The mask is what is licensed. This isn't a Scream DLC.

  • @Mr_Digi said:

The entity blocks windows after 3 vaults... you have a perk that blocks it if you vault... They are reqorking the maps to make loops smaller... and now they break fast vaults.

Its the right direction to take if they want to kill their game. With a vault change noone asked for, they nerfed something that didnt need nerfing

The vaults only count if it is in a chase. This is why this change is being made.

You could fast vault in areas you weren't supposed to, this lead to breaking the chase for just a moment, which resets the window blocker, creating an infinite.

McLean also said that these spots were always intended to be medium vaults, and that this was an EXPLOIT. Whether or not anyone asked doesn't matter, it was unintentional so they fixed it.

Funny how you tell people to bring Bamboozle. Why don't you bring a perk like Resilience then?

Telling someone to bring a perk to fix ######### up gameplay mechanics isn't the answer. In fact, it doesn't solve jack #########.

  • @gaymer504 said:

Some of you guys need to relax. I played a bunch of games against Ghostface today, and he’s pretty good! He can expose, which gives him a lot more power than many killers, and it’s really easy for him to get a first hit in due to his stealth capability. Plus, even though you can technically break him out of his power, pulling it off can be difficult and usually trying to do it ends up either you getting marked anyway. Not every killer needs to be the Nurse.

Play him at Rank 1 and tell us how good he is.

Are you using a disc? Your ps4 could also be overheating since this game is poorly optimized. Make sure your ps4 vents are clean and there is plenty of room around your ps4. Don't sit it on top of any of electronics.

  • Pallets are already hopefully going to be fixed once the maps start getting reworked.

Honestly this should take priority over any new content.

  • @miaasma said:

you don't need BL 3 to bloodlust unsafe pallets

either way, we shouldn't be directing the game towards less skillful play and more use of handholdy mechanics

If the pallet is unsafe, you don't really need Bloodlust anyway. Wasting 15 seconds only to be forced to lose it anyway once you break the pallet if you miss is a pretty silly strategy.

  • Resilience is actually amazing.

  • @skillchecks said:

I'm actually more concerned about the changes on the safety of pallets . I mean, we all know what is going to happen: every single killer is going to bloodlust those unsafe pallets until we get smacked .

I mean if I killer wants to wait 45 seconds to get BL3, he's only going to get like 2 hooks maximum. Before all the gens eventually get finished.

  • @tehshadowman33 said:

    @Ihatelife

That's beyond stupid. You're basically stunning yourself for 4 seconds for what? A survivor that you're going to presumably continue chasing?

But... Feral Frenzy will be on cooldown. That's incredibly stupid.... It should apply on first hit of deep wounds, not the 2nd hit.

Only addon worse than that crap is the Trapper addon that applies Hemorrhage to a survivor who gets trapped until healed.

I mean it's alright if you're using Bloodhound and dont want to also bring Sloppy Butcher. But that's about it.

I'll be honest, I run whispers and I tunnel the crap out of urban evaders until they die. I know a lot of killer mains who detest urban evasion users as well. Bad advice.

I love Killers that use Whispers. I can keep them locked down in the same spot using Urban for minutes at a time.

Yknow usually people give me ######### for spouting I'm a Survivor main, and this is exactly why I do it.

People just assume when they have a different opinion, they MUST be a Killer main. Well, I think Ghostface is in a good spot imo. In fact, he could use a small buff so hooked/downed Survivors either can't reveal him, or can do it within a VERY small distance.

Oh I like this idea a lot.

@Peanits could you pass this along?

  • I want to curl up into a ball somewhere and die whenever I see things like: . On hit, give survivor 30/60 seconds of blindness. .

Blindness is useless against voice comms anyway.

No wonder the Jake I saw randomly left the gen and got out, like instantly when the hatch opened. Was pretty salty.

Yeah... no. There are still more than enough potato survivors in Red Ranks.

    Potato Survivors

    • Go down in 10 seconds or less ✓
    • Urban Evasion ✓
    • Crouch all the time ✓
    • Hide in a locker when they hear TR ✓
    • Do nothing but crouch in a corner all game ✓
    • Instead of helping they camp the hatch ✓
    • Always drop the pallet when the killer is like a mile behind them ✓
    • Never look back ✓
    • Always drop the shack pallet way too early, wasting it ✓

^ That happens in Red Ranks way too much. Especially the first point.

You'll think twice about Urban when you see me crouch in the middle of a chase and make the Killer reevaluate his life choices.

I mean...I run it at 144fps with Gsync. My video card is an air cooled 1080ti and doesn't get that hot. 60c tops.

I think it's my particular model of card, it's an 11GB MSI model.

Other people have mentioned their top of the line cards are also overheating in a thread I made. It also makes the PS4 sound like a jet engine.

If I can run literally every single game I have no problem and DbD is the ONLY game that causes this, I'm gonna go on record and say it's DbD, not my rig

  • Any word on these frequent DC issues devs? Please, its terrible at least let us know you're working on it.

The game is very poorly optimized. If you are running the game at more than 60fps, it's gonna cook your graphics card.

Even on low settings, at 60+ fps my 1080ti burns up. Yet I can run DOOM 2016 at all Ultra setting 120+ frames and never even come close to hitting max temperature.

  • Pretty sure it's this Tuesday

  • After a point, people need to stop blaming their team and start blaming themselves.

You are getting all the stuff done cause most new players are too scared to actually take action, and thus never rank up.

Even if 2 or 3 people die early on, it doesn't require much to pip up until around Rank 12 or so. A player can earn a pip on their own very easily at low ranks.

And some people never learn to adapt and stay stagnant. It's just how it is, I've seen people with over 400 hours never make it past Rank 10. Pretty sad imo

  • @Paladin_Goo said:

The report system, the one that specifically mentions "helping/working with the killer" as a bannable offense, says otherwise.

Whether or not they are camping hatch, yes that makes them scummy, but you're still helping the killer get a kill.

I spoke with Ryuti and gave the example of throwing down a pallet to block a teammate so they get hit instead of you.

He mentioned to me that a single case of this happening likely wouldn't get you banned.

From what I understand it's when you actively work with the Killer constantly to grief other people. Saving your own skin, I don't believe, is bannable, especially if the Killer is trying to kill you.

There is a fine line between being opportunistic, and actually "working with" someone.

  • I had to put this game and the forums away for about a year before I got the urge to even be involved anymore.

I get what you're saying. People often take things too far and conflate how someone plays with them being a bad person/toxic player, and that causes the real toxicity to show its ugly head.

The DbD community is pretty up there in terms of toxicity, almost at the levels of games like League. Still, there are good players and users. You just learn to ignore the crap after a while.

  • @BBQnDemogorgon said:

    No...

I don't want to be forced to play survivor/wait to play killer...

Friday the 13th and Evolve sucked imo because you couldn't just play what you want. They had this RNG bull.

Getting one role when you want the other isn't fun. It's a waste of time.

I recall being able to choose Monster as mu preference, and I would always get it. It wasn't until it came to the Hunter roles that I would sometimes get forced into stuff I didn't wanna play, but not very often.

  • I'm going to take this as a challenge then. Rank 1 randomized perks every match let's go

Chainsaw just needs a reasonable cool down is all. If someone can pick up the sticks, spam and kill survivors then yes, it's OP. Anybody can down all 4 survivors as Hillbilly/Cannibal.

He can't saw you if you're looping him.

  • @Paladin_Goo said:

I do that as well - but try doing that against an omega blink nurse or insta billy when the gates are on the same wall.

Honestly I'm not seeing the issue in the first place.

Last guy gets hatch first, instant escape.

Killer gets hatch first, almost guaranteed kill.

It's a fair 50/50 that goes both ways. And before anyone mentions how they could be the last one because of dumb teammates, this is true. The dumb teammates could get you killed.

But they also give you a free escape option. So it's still fair either way. This is why the EGC was made. And even then, the Survivor still has a chance to escape, no matter how slim that chance may be.

If he finds the hatch first, you're NOT supposed to get out. While the same wall gate issue definitely should be looked at, I dont think it's even relevant if the Killer brings a perk like Remember Me. That Survivor likely isn't getting out.

    And that's fine

  • @FireHazard said:

It mainly has to do with people being passionate about their own opinions. It stems from the love of this game everyone has despite its quirks.

Of couse though we get our bad apples that seek nothing but to anger one of the two sides they dislike so... thats also a thing.

My issue only comes from when people begin to make personal attacks on someone over the game.

I personally don't care when people get riled up as long as the focus remains on the game. The moment someone starts deflecting with personal comments or starts attacking the person rather than their argument, that's when it becomes a problem.

People seem to conflate shattering their argument to pieces and trying to insult someone. If you come to the forums, expect people to be brutally honest and point out when you're wrong; it's happened to me and I have had to admit when I'm incorrect myself.

Just try to remember that just because someone disagrees with you (speaking in general terms) or thinks your opinion is ill-conceived doesn't mean that person dislikes you. Sometimes I know my approach can be confrontational, and I've received warnings on other forums sites before, and I've had multiple stints with a few users, but I honestly don't hold any contempt or hatred for anyone here.

My last 3 games have taken me around 10 minutes since clicking on start to the point where I have a full lobby. You would need to multiply that time by 2 at the very minimum, but in actuality, it would probly be even longer than that. When matchmaking takes longer than the game itself, there's a problem.

Sounds like matchmaking is the problem, not amount of people playing.

They are doing matchmaking tests for dedicated servers anyway, which is messing up times.

And that sucks for you. I play at 3am and never have to wait more than 15 seconds.

  • Funny, I just did this last night.

Wasn't very hard. Starting opening one gate, ran away like it was going to the other one, then doubled back and finished the gate I first started.

Got out right when the Killer got to me.

God forbid Survivors use their brains and not their free hatch escape.

  • You could try setting your struggle button to the scroll wheel.

  • @Dehitay said:

I highly doubt that anybody is truly against having a ranked and unranked option, it's just that a lot of people realize it's not currently possible with where the game is at now. Because there are no rank rewards, nobody would want to play ranked. And even if they added rank rewards, the ranking system and lack of balance in the game would make ranked queues a nightmare. Also, the limited playerbase and matchmaking system would make having 2 queues instead of one devestating for queue times.

15-30k people isn't enough? How so?

There are games with smaller populations that have multiple game modes.

  • @kamisen said:

@TragicSolitude Okay, interesting! I have not been slugged to death that many times either, but instead killers who wait to hook until everyone is downed.

@weirdkid5 It is very effective! But it doesn't net that many points?

Some people don't really care about points. And it can, it just depends on the skill of the Survivors. If they can manage to keep picking each other up, the game could get delayed by a pretty substantial amount.

Personally, I like to hook one, and leave anyone else I down on the ground. It puts more pressure on them considering one of them is going to die in 2 minutes.

  • Unbreakable was made specifically to stop slugging a few years back. This isn't really a new strategy, and is actually quite an effective one.

If one person is down, that takes 2 off gens. Down another guy, and that's either 3 or all Survivors off gens. If you want to win, slugging is a pretty good way to get there.

  • Yes, remind the Survivors it is you who is meant to be in control. Let the evil flow
