you think dying prevents you from getting two iridescent emblems, what? dying literally only affects survival. the rest are easy to get even if you die
this whole conversation is super embarrassing for you honestly
Of course it doesn't, I never said it didn't. Please provide where I said that.
I said it's much more difficult, nearly impossible, not impossible. So you're telling me that despite getting Silver Unbroken, you are still able to get 4 saves, complete 4-5 gens, AND lead the chase on a Killer for longer than a minute? I somehow doubt that, unless you managed to only die at the very end of the trial. But since you say you play like a boosted Survivor, I assume you probably die halfway through the game like most boosted Survivors.
You can't get Benevolence if no one else gets hooked aside from minimum heal points or useless Sabo, So if you die first, there is 0 way you are pipping up.
Considering if you die super early you will only get Bronze Unbroken, you'll have to get THREE Iridiscents to get your pip, I honestly don't see people who die pipping up at Red Ranks very often.
Of course, feel free to provide screenshots, or video evidence to prove me wrong. But we both know how much you are allergic to evidence that doesn't support your wild claims.

you think shack is an infinite because you are bad at the game, point blank, i'm sorry if this is hard for you to swallow
You literally just said you die nearly every game.
It's nearly impossible to pip at Red Ranks if you die unless you also get two Iridiscent emblems, which you likely aren't getting if you died.
Yea, it's definitely just me being bad despite the fact that nearly everytime I use the shack I never get window blockers nor do I get hit unless I make my own mistake.
Sorry it's hard for you to swallow that your only saving grace is gone from the game with the vault changes. Guess you'll have to adapt like the Killer players 💁♂️

i'm rank 3 right now and i die almost every game because i play like a boosted idiot
pipping is not hard
you guys are bad
i'm not going to offer more than that to anyone deluded enough to think shack is an infinite, sorry
So you're Rank 3 because of SWF? If you're boosted, then that means your team is carrying you. Also, if you cannot increase that Rank to 1, it means you have stagnated and aren't improving your gameplay, since Red Ranks require more stringent requirements. Try playing solo.
Sounds to me like if you're dying every game, then you are getting Silver or worse in the Survival category. This means you need to get at least TWO Iridiscent in order to make up for that Silver Emblem, meaning it's even HARDER to get your pip if you die.
If no one gets hooked, then say goodbye to your Benevolence and the possibility of getting a pip. If you're hooked, you aren't doing gens, and you're failing your chases.
I highly doubt you are able to get Red Rank without playing with SWF.
If we're bad, we would be with the majority of Survivors at Ranks 12 and upwards.
You still can't provide any evidence that the shack isn't an infinite besides "ur bad."
I'm fairly certain you're just trying to bait us into saying something stupid so you can get us banned because you dislike us.

wow pipping as a survivor? nevermind, discussion over, i'm talking to a seasoned professional
i'm not getting anything from you guys other than "actually shack IS an infinite" so no, i'm not going to say anything other than i'm pretty sure you guys just suck
So you're telling me you can consistently get 3 Gold and one iridescent Emblem at the high ranks? Are you actually saying that the Survivors that are complaining about it being too hard to pip are just whining then?
It isn't hard to pip at low ranks. Have you actually maintained your Red Rank? Can you prove you have with a stream?
Have you ever noticed when I disagree with you, I never simply say you're bad at the game? It's because I generally assume most people on these forums are halfway decent.
However, if you can't even get to Red Ranks you have no business saying that pipping doesn't show skill, when you have to get at least 2 saves, run a chase for longer than a minute, do at least 3 gens, AND survive the trial just to get a pip.
You're saying most Survivors can do that on a regular basis? Lol
And actually, I have provided several reasons on how it is an infinite. You're just ignoring them. Try reading my posts again.

@artist said:

I think assuming pipping is in correlation of someone's skill is evidence enough
Do you have a better way to gauge someone's skill? Because guess what, if you do, it's irrelevant.
The win condition in the game is currently whether you pip or not, since you can pip while dying.
Further more, at the high ranks, you need a minimum of three Golds and one Iridiscent Emblems just to get a single pip.
If you seriously are saying you can do that consistently, great, you're a good player.
Otherwise, if you can't maintain your Red Rank, it means you are lacking in your skillset in the current state of the game.
Simply doing gens and escaping is not enough to pip up at the Red Ranks. You must also get at least 2 saves and do at least a minute chase or longer with the Killer.
So, yeah. I'd say I'm fairly good at the game, especially when Survivors are complaining that it is TOO HARD to pip.
If your argument is simply "you're bad at the game" you actually have no argument. That's an ad hominem.

if a chase at shack lasts this long, you're the problem
Can you actually provide any kind of tangible argument other than "lol ur bad" Mr. IblockSpirit Players?
Again, I don't play Killer, but I'm able to recognize nonsense when it appears. And the shack is nonsense.
I'd like for you to actually be able to prove I'm bad.
Oh wait, you can't, because I stream every game I play and I pip up literally almost every game, even when I die.

An infinite by my definition is a loop that has the following requirements ;
- No opportunity to be outplayed by mindgames
- A loop where if the entity blocker & bloodlust did not exist you could loop forever without the killer being able to catch up.
At the killer shack there are some opportunities to eventually catch up or mindgame it, ontop of that there are 5 killers that with enough practice can turn the shack into a death sentence (So Nurse, Hillbilly, Spirit, Hag & Huntress). Of course if you aren't using those 5 killers the shack might be annoying depending on the survivor, but it certainly isn't an infinite by itself.
The problem is that the shack can break LoS and the chase long enough for Entity blockers to be reset and for Bloodlust to be reset when the loop is started at maximum distance.
Played correctly around the Killer's mindgames, which isn't difficult with a 3rd person camera, and you can easily loop the window 4 or more times.

@miaasma yep. some people think hiding in corners and waiting until their teammates die to get the hatch is a nice thing to do.
You guys contribute nothing to this discussion.
Also, I dont do that so nice try. I literally stream every single game I play, so your little nonsensical claim that I wait until my team to die has no basis, as I can prove that I never do this.
But I'm sure you'll continue to discount what I say because you don't like stealth. Stealth does not equal hiding in a corner. It means remain unseen.
Sorry you can't do that yourself without hiding in a corner.
Also, I'm capable of looping a Killer for over 3 minutes in the event I do get caught. It's called having a wide skill set as a Survivor.
It's called being good at the game. I suggest you try it.
Also @miaasma funny you say you don't take us seriously, yet you block Spirit players. Pretty hilarious honestly.

thank god people like you aren't devs. nobody likes to go with and against immersed claudettes.
Sorry that you don't use an entirely viable strategy because you don't like it. You are missing out on 50% of what makes a survivor a survivor by not utilizing stealth.
Sorry you can't accept this is also somewhat of a stealth oriented game. Hiding is the best way to avoid dying, and you are rewarded for being stealthy near the Killer now. I've gotten Gold Evader strictly from stealth before.
I've also been yelled at for being a stealth player. Presumably because the Killer's eyes weren't working properly. It isn't my fault you look directly in my direction and don't see me.
Fyi, I play Meg.

It won't affect normal Killers, unless they run stuff like Tinkerer or Insidious, which also should make them immune to OoO.

I guess they both make sense at lower ranks but both fall apart fairly quickly once the players on both sides become more skilled. That's a majority of the this or that needing nerfed complaints in general though. I watched a video that was recently uploaded at the time earlier with 20K views and the chat had a good number of "GF OP" comments and the people playing said he was OP too. Then I see their ranks after the game and the best rank was 17 out of all five of them in a KYF game.
I mean that's likely. A majority of Survivors are at low ranks, evidenced by BHVRs own statistics, and generally those that express difficulty with Killers on Steam forums haven't even gotten past Rank 10 when you check their achievements, despite having almost 400 hours.
It baffles me. And these people are who the devs listen to.
-

@weirdkid5 @Aven_Fallen I didn’t actually know that about Michael. Guess that show you how much I play him.
Also you never mentioned the pig, is she still seen? I don’t use Ooo so I really don’t have a good idea.
Yes Pig is still shown during her crouch. Myers is the only one who has aura protection, aside from Spirit during her phase walk. I think while you're awake currently Freddy also has his aura hidden but I'm not sure.
Killers with 0 terror radius shouldn't show their aura. This would be a fair balance for me.
This means Pig, Night Shroud GF, and Cloaked Wraith would all have their auras hidden during their stealth moments, and perks like Tinkerer and even Insidious would be indirectly buffed because of this.
It just makes sense to me.
-
Lol I imagine if you use this + Resilience the Killer will basically never be able to touch you if you are even remotely decent at vaulting loops.

Honestly? The Victory Cube was simple and made sense. It rewarded skill at the game's central goal, and actually sorted people according to their ability to achieve that. The new pipping system is overly complicated, obtuse, and has very little to do with actual skill. I'd say, without reservation, that the new pipping system is a failure in every aspect.
@Patricia can we get a look at reintroducing the Victory Cube?
I still find it strange that a Killer can 4k and not pip, likewise, I find it strange a Killer can not get a single Kill and still pip.
Same goes for Survivor.
I'm cool with you guys making a few judgments here in there, but there is one thing that needs to stay true in all cases.
If a Killer 4ks, no matter what, he should always get one pip. If a Survivor escapes without going down, they should always get a pip. The other pip can come from performance based measurements.
Just because something is complicated doesn't mean it's good. The more simple a ranking system the better it is. The current system imposes a lot of arbitrary nonsense that forces people to play outside of their desired playstyle, which is not good for a rank system. There is a reason most games with ranking simply go with "win or lose" conditions.
Besides, if the game is balanced around the 2 escape 2 die mentality, why don't you guys track pips? It should be 2 pip, 2 depip. Dying isn't a loss when you still gain a pip.

That does make more sense. It actually rewarded the killer for applying pressure on the survivors.
Yeah, but apparently Killers complained about it made the game "too difficult" and Survivors complained about how it "promoted camping."
Both are ludicrous statements
-
Sorry. That isn't entirely accurate. It worked based on "hook events." You would get points for hooking, going to stage 2 of the hook, and sacrificing the Survivor. It made it a lot more flexible than it currently is imo, but if you got a 4k, it was always a double pip.
You can check it out here: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Victory_Cube

Solely based on the number of Kills you got. 3k was 1 pip and 4k was always a double pip.

uhm except it wasnt. Maybe for mediocre survivors, but if you got enough distance it can always be a fast vault. Besides, shack wasnt the reason they implemented this change, so idk why you think it should affected. It was an unwanted consequence of the change. Defending a change because it helps you as killer is pretty selfish. I wouldn't want the devs to add something that seriously frustrated killers just because it helped me as a survivor.
Except it was, this was made clear when they changed angles a year ago. Besides, I already stated you can still fast vault the side window by swinging out.
You just actually have to swing out now. Before this change, you didn't have to take as steep of an angle due to being able to fast vault while touching the wall, which bypassed the intended angle changes.

@Peanits said:
I need to clarify this again because this is a common misunderstanding: We are not increasing the range at which a survivor can reveal Ghost Face. We only increasing the detection area, which is just the portion of the screen that is checked to see if you are looking at the killer, and only by 8%. It's very small right now so a lot of people are looking close to Ghost Face but not quite close enough. Increasing it slightly should have a very minimal effect on being revealed if the survivor does not actually see you.
If you aren't already, I would suggest leaning. It'll take the stalk time down from 5 seconds to 2.5 seconds. It'll take them a total of 1.8 seconds to reveal you, leaving them with only 0.7 seconds to notice you and start staring at you. They've gotta' have some pretty crazy reaction times. In addition to that, at least 20% of your body needs to be visible for them to start revealing you, so if you're careful about how far you lean, they won't be able to reveal you at all and have to run instead.
I don't think he misunderstood, he just used the wrong wording.
This is why he wants to make it so the Survivor has to be visble to GF to reveal him. He doesn't want a situation where you can reveal him while the Survivor is hiding behind cover.
-
@Plu said:

-

You have to buy the DLC through the Steam store.
@Peanits you guys really need to make it clear people are missing out by buying the Auric Cells.
Better yet, why not just give them the cosmetic? Why is it relegated to store only on a Killer than can only be bought with money?
That's pretty sleazy honestly.
-
@SunderMun said:
Conversely, it's possible to do the exact same thing to survivor; in fact it's easier. You can also break LOS and instantly stop their reveal progress and keep peeking, with no counterplay. Happened to me just now and it made me laugh. (though i pointed it out to the killer at end of game and he just called me a salty survivor main, which I'm not...it was hilarious)
That's intentional. Ghostface has to have at least 20% of his body visible for you to reveal him.
So the fact that you can reveal him in corn, but he CANT stalk you is actually unfair.

I don't really see a reason to change his marked refreshing.
It gets completed countered by loops. Even with semi "infinite" refreshing would you really be going down faster than say a Spirit? I don't think so. If it wouldn't be downing people faster than Spirit it seems fine.
So you're basically telling me you're ok with GF always essentially being an infinite EW3 Myers all the time? Nah fam, that's making GF better by artificial means.
He needs other aspects to make him a more viable Killer. This is not one of them. And I've faced a few Spirit players. I don't really have issues with Spirit. I don't have any issues with any Killers in this game, aside from the ones that are easy to win against.

What about the other thing he said and I said too? When you run through the pallet and try to get a fast vault? That side was already way weaker and that one got nerfed funnily enough. Just doesn't make sense to me.
You can still get a fast vault there, you don't have to take as wide of an angle as the outside vault, but you still might need to swing more.
This was intended when they changed the angles of how vaulting worked over a year ago. The fact you could get fast vaults in spots where you were meant to get medium ones by touching the wall was literally an exploit.
-
@FTSA said:
Based on this it seems you are not very good at survivor, and dont know all the ways to loop shack. The first way this affects is when trying to get a fast vault while looping from outside the shack, you now need to give yourself way more distance and just end up getting hit. The second way is when you are vaulting the shack window after running through the pallet. The only way you would survive that was if you got a fast vault since that loop is very short, now its always a medium vault. Obv the basic vault from inside shack hasn't changed. But those other two vaults that i mentioned were affected negatively and weren't "exploits". :)
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/534304#Comment_534304
Outside shack was ALWAYS meant to be a medium vault unless you swing out to get more distance.
90 degree angle vaults were ALWAYS supposed to be medium vaults.
Sorry you can't accept this.
-
Yeah I don't agree with the infinite stalk thing.
A good Survivor can keep Myers off of him for his entire EW3 duration, and that amount of time is LESS than what Ghostface gets.
Infinite one shot sounds intensely frustrating to deal with, mostly because even if you take him out of his Night Shroud, he will get it back before his oneshot runs out.
You know I'm normally in favor of Killers, but allowing GF to have an INFINITE option with 0 kind of addons is pretty dumb.
I would like to see this made a pink addon for him though.

My entire post was that toxic survivor behavior breeds Killer toxic behavior. And vise versa.
But my point was also this, just because you can, doesn't mean you have to. If you want a less frustrating game, play the game they way you would want it to be played against you.
Before the DS nerf there were so many players that played both sides that never used DS, because as a Killer they hated it so much. They knew it was a broken ass perk, and refused to expose other Killers to it.
In the end YOU are responsible for YOUR actions. If you believe strongly that something is not good for the game, you just won't do it even though you could.
Uhm, what? Before the DS nerf, DS was one of the most used perks right behind SC, this was proven by the devs statistics.
Regardless, gameplay can not be inherently toxic unless you are exploiting or breaking the game.
Handicapping your gameplay with mental shackles like this is what drives this game into the ground imo. People should go crazy with all of their most powerful stuff as much as possible. This could force the devs to actually realize the state of their game.
Besides, I don't find things like Prayer Beads or certain Survivor perks as "broken." The only thing broken in this game is SWF, because the game does not have a reasonable way for the Killer to account for it, and the lack of information is supposed to be part of the balance.
I don't care what other players think. I'm here for my fun, not yours. I'm not going to handicap my gameplay and potentially ruin my fun just because someone else doesn't like the stuff I use.
This would be like refusing to play in a Smash tournament just because they allow Bayonetta to be played. You refusing to use your most powerful gear doesn't mean that the Killer is toxic for using his, it means you are handicapping your own gameplay for fear of ruining someone else's fun, and in turn, have your own fun ruined.

Hes broken now due to one Bug, Infinite Stalk Duration, due to being able to stalk marked survivors.
Also, Ghostface can just marked you at 99%, then mark you immediately later to get u fully marked, like Myer
Even if you see him, if he has you marked at 99%+, you will get exposed, there's no way to get out of this
He needs to be able to 99% for him to even remotely be viable at high ranks.
