JP is easily in my top 5 franchises that I'd like to see come to the game. I'd be pretty disappointed if we got Jurassic World instead, but I could see that being a possibility because the DBD player base skews a lot younger than I am (hence why the FNAF chapter was such a huge success) and Universal might see higher potential for bigger profits by licensing out the requel trilogy of movies.
If we did get JP, I'd expect the Raptor to be the Killer and their power be a stealthy mash up between Knight, Twins and Demo. You get a pack of three raptors but you can only control one at any given time, with the other two raptors waiting around the map to patrol areas and ambush Survivors that might come into range. Each raptor has a different characteristic (e.g. better speed/stealth/senses/a longer leaping range). Maybe the power would be something like that?
I don't know, but it could definitely work as a full chapter. I have absolutely no doubt about that.

Just dropping in to say I think people dislike Legion so much because of the mending for half the game. If Legion knows what he’s doing, he can make matches drag on a lot longer, and it can be a slog to play against him. I don’t think it has much to do with OG Legion, and I say this as someone who loves playing Legion (used to main them at one point) but still hates going up against them.
I do think their OG iteration casts a long shadow. Although I missed release Legion, I've been around for Skull Merchant/Chucky/Ghoul. Those Killers are not the same Killers that they were on release, but their nerfs have done little to rehabilitate them in the eyes of their most vocal haters. Nothing less than a complete rework would be enough to satisfy these people. Those feelings of animosity towards a Killer never really go away.
The mending thing is not the whole reason, imo. It's exaggerated and just the easiest way to articulate deeper frustrations. Tbh, I've never really understood the complaints around mending. After all, plenty of other Killers have equally annoying time wasting aspects to their powers, some of which are way stronger because ignoring it is a lethal mistake (Sadako's condemned / Pig's traps) or makes you hindered and one shot (like Wesker's infection). I don't see what makes mending so different to having to go side questing to remove a head trap, collect a video tape, or get a vaccine/first aid spray from a supply crate etc.
I think it's really more to do with the fact that those other Killers play a series of 1v1s whereas a Legion plays the team as a whole. A Legion playing strategically will use the info from their power to apply pressure across the team. If things are going well for them, it will feel like they are never far away and they likely won't give you a moment to finish a gen in peace. The pressure is constant. But I think a Survivor team will often gift this pressure to a Legion. If you bunch up with your teammates and give the Legion lots of opportunities to use their power, then yeah you can expect to be playing "mending simulator". I see Survivors make the same mistakes in my games over and over again (not splitting up, not contesting gen clusters / breaking 3 gens, not delaying mending whilst still in the terror radius, constantly healing). DBD is weird in the sense that it's a team game, but for balance reasons and to make certain Killers work, it doesn't give you the in game tools to actually work efficiently as one. So you're often relying on your team to know what to do to counter their power (as well as doing all the other stuff that your team is probably not keeping on top of either). You don't even know where your teammates are without perks. It feels bad to lose because of misplays from the team and it all adds up to a Killer with a power that can make you hate your teammates.
They're also a hit and run style Killer, so they likely won't take chases that are bad for them because (unless you devote your entire build to it) they have no real 1v1 chase potential. Since their strength is in macro and in playing the team, their power is less "interactive" compared to other Killers. They also have a reputation for being "weak", which makes losing to them feel more humiliating than losing to say a Blight or a Nurse (even though it shouldn't feel that way, since every Killer is designed to win most of the time regardless of their perceived strength level).
That's not to mention the additional frustration for beginner players facing a Legion because they make heavy use of two mechanics that the tutorial doesn't tell you anything about at all (Killer Instinct and endurance/deep wound). They can also vault pallets, which strips away a defense that is fairly consistently strong against most other Killers and it probably feels a bit unfair to beginners.

The issue with buffing the current iteration of legion is, that they are mechanically too easy. Find someone, stab someone, follow the instinct. Nobody wants another ghoul situation having a killer close to S-tier that could be played by a cactus.
And yeah, the rework suggestions for them would destroy their current identity. A catch 22, you can't buff em, you cant rework em.
Ghoul is a harder Killer to play than a lot of people give credit, imo. But anyway, I don't think there's a problem with having mechanically simple Killers. Legion is a strategic Killer that trades away having a power that can reliably get downs for an easy to use information power that applies pressure across the team. That's how BHVR have balanced them. I don't want a significantly better 1V1 power for them, I just want quality of life improvements, a better way to counter Survivors splitting up and a vault speed add-on. As I said, they're more or less fine as they currently are, but there are still ways they could be buffed that wouldn't make them anywhere near S-Tier.

Oof.. Got a feeling all this might kill the ancient potato PCs I use to play this game way before we get any fancy pants graphics update. I guess I'll find out.
At least I'll still have my Switch to play on (for now), but it's not looking good for my ability to keep on playing this game.
-
All told, I actually quite enjoyed the event. It was one of the better ones in recent times for me. I even grew to enjoy the poison bottles as I learned how to use them. The main negative for me really was the lack of fun things for the Killer side to play around with. I don't want anything nerfed on the Survivor side but I do hope they come up with some more powers for Killers next year. I don't know why BHVR can't make an event that is equally fun for both sides, it always has to skew one way or the other it seems.

Our edgy gang needs some much needed love and attention Behavior! I have asked around on the DBD Discord and may have found a small solution to help them!
1. Feral Frenzy should be able to down survivors depending on how many are alive/not hooked. Reason because if one is downed, hooked or dead. You can't get a down because you need 4 hit's with Feral Slash for the 5th to down. Here's the idea of the fix. with each survivor hooked or dead. the number of hit's needed goes down by one. 3 survivors require 4 stabs, 2 require 3 and 1 requires 2.
2. the Speed boost per stab needs a light buff. So it will follow a small order. first stab is 0.28m/s and with each stab following it goes down by 0.01m/s. And depending on how many survivors are hooked/dead. it starts one tick below (So if 1 survivor is dead. first stab is 0.27) and there will be no Max limit, you'd only be able to get a max of 1.06m/s
3. Lets rework the Julie's Mix Tap add on. So now instead if you are stunned while in Feral Frenzy, you do a stunned animation thats 50% quicker. but dosn't knock you out of Feral Frenzy, instead takes 10-30% of Feral Frenzy's power gauge and allows you to go at it again. Folks have said by the time you finish getting stunned. the survivor is already long gone.
These would help keep legion as a fun, energetic and wild killer and makes it so they don't become a M1 Killer after first kill.
If there is any other idea's anyone else has do comment below! Let's hope behavior sees this idea and considers doing this for our rebellious gang!I like all of these buffs, particularly because they would help them where they need it; in improving their chase potential against the better Survivor teams and to better deal with the counter play of Survivors splitting up.
But to be entirely honest, I don't think they're in desperate need of any buffs right now.
That said, I'm of the opinion that's it's OK for some Killers on the roster to be "weaker" (especially the ones that have mechanically simple powers like Ghostie/Legion/Trapper). I've never believed tier lists are relevant to most players because I think it's actually a lot easier to hit BHVRs 60% kill rate target with the simpler to learn Killers in public matches, so long as you are playing to win and not pulling any punches. That's especially true if they're SoloQ stompers like Pig/Legion/Freddy/Sadako. It's just comparison with the crazy powers of some of the more recent Killers that have made the older Killers feel weaker than they actually are.

How about a complete rework? There are countless suggestions out there, pick one.
True, there are countless rework suggestions but all of them are terrible and completely destroy what Legion mains love about the character. I've not seen a single one yet that I like.
I think a lot of the Legion hate is residual hate from their very first iteration. Killers only get one chance to make a positive impression on players and if it's not a good one on release, the hate for them lasts way beyond any nerfs and partial reworks they might get. I wasn't around for the OG Legion release and I think that might be why I don't fully understand the lasting hate for them in the community (obviously, I'm also a little biased because I main them. People hate Killers that they personally play a lot less than the ones they don't).
-
The invisibility with the portals is my favourite power (they're extremely strong when combo'd with the Fog Vials). That said, all of the morsels make you feel like you're going up against hackers when playing as Killer. I've grown to like the poison bottles as I've gotten better at aiming them, but they still feel pretty underwhelming compared to what the Survivors get. I've said before that I don't care if the events and time limited modes have totally broken mechanics, so long as both sides get equally broken toys to play around with.
I think previous anniversaries skewed towards Killer. Remote hooking, remote pallet breaking and Enduring on demand were much more effective and enjoyable for Killer than the useless party pallets, window blocking and Iron Will on demand effects. But the pendulum has swung over to the Survivor side this time around, with the poison bottles being effective but not a great deal of fun for Killer and Survivors getting to play with all the fun toys this year. I don't want anything nerfed, I just want to see more given to the Killer side next time around.
-
Some genuinely bizarre options there. They have got to be trolling us with some of these. I can only hope the community has better sense than to ask for Harry Styles (or any other pop star), Care bears or Duolingo to be added to the game.
Maybe they're thinking more along the lines of adding T-shirts or cosmetics for this stuff (I suppose that might be OK, but still very weird imo). I try to be open minded and I've often said that if BHVR think they can make it work then they should shoot their shot, but a line has to be drawn at some point.

I agree, it's a weird outdated quirk to their power that makes little sense when compared to the power crept nonsense that some of the other Killers can bring to the table these days.
As someone that uses their Frenzy for mobility, it's a little annoying to have to drop out of power prematurely near a worked on gen to see which way the Survivor ran off. I also wonder how many times I've missed an opportunity to get a chase started because I've not been able to see scratch marks when using their power to get around the map. It's even worse on indoor maps because it can be so easy to lose a Legion by just running around a corner. It's not even a good mobility power.
I think BHVR are somewhat reluctant to buff Legion too much because of how so many Survivors feel about them. Better not to upset the applecart, I guess. But I'm not too concerned tbh because their recent buffs have been welcome ones. I'm happy with them at the moment and the scratch marks things is more a QoL irritation than anything else to me.

I see you getting blasted but thank you for sticking to your guns. I really didn't think they were an issue with the fast mending I actually enjoyed being the first one in the frenzy chain. they were more fun to face than Wraith or Oni imo
their removal is why I started advocating for adding Ghoul
Ghoul was actually one of the Killers I voted to be added to 2V8. I confess that my motivations were at least a little bit mischievous because I think the community's reaction would be hilarious if they somehow made it in. But I do genuinely think they would be fun to play and easy to add to the mode and I see can no reason why BHVR shouldn't.
I'd personally take facing a Ghoul over a Wesker or Oni in 2V8 any day of the week.

I think it ultimately boils down to which side of the game you most enjoy (or at least would most like to enjoy) as to whether you feel "anxiety" when playing or not. I hesitate to use the word anxiety because I've struggled with that for most of my adult life and feeling angry about something that happened in a video game for half a day doesn't compare to my worst bouts of IRL anxiety (if that makes sense?). But I can't think of a better word so I'll go with it anyway.
For myself, that's the Survivor side of the game. More often than not, I'm expecting something to happen in a majority of my trials to ruin my experience and it makes me hesitant to queue up. As a SoloQ player, you don't just have the Killer's behaviour and tactics to contend with but also the behaviour of your teammates as well. Survivor on DBD can feel like 1V4 just as much as playing Killer, except a worse experience because you have much less say or agency over how your games will go. For some players, that takes the pressure away but for me it only adds to my frustrations. Ironically, play while you wait has helped me enjoy Survivor again because an early exit or bad Survivor experience just means I get to play the role I'm currently enjoying more at the moment a bit sooner.
I don't really suffer from Killer anxiety for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I don't really play the role as BHVR intended. I hardly ever camp, only slug if provoked and only really tunnel accidentally (because I forgot who I last hooked) or opportunistically (because I chase who I see). If you refuse to take advantage of the Killer tactics that the game is balanced around, then you can't complain too much if you end up losing a few games you otherwise should be winning. That's on me. I also don't like how free these tactics can sometime feel and I would like to believe I've earned my wins and not to have been gifted them by tactics I consider to be a bit cheesy / overkill against some teams.
I also have a grindy, attritional play style based around territorial defense that may not be much fun for my opponents but I nevertheless enjoy. (as a Legion main, I need to find a way to push my opponents closer together to be able to apply pressure with my power). So I'm not usually worried about losing gens. When only a couple gens remain is when the game really gets started for me because I've (hopefully) been left with an advantageous cluster of easier to defend gens. It helps to know my Killer of choice is hated by much of the player base anyway, so I never have to worry about being liked by my opponents. It doesn't matter how I play, I'll still get occasional abuse in the end game chat simply because I play Legion.
On Killers that I'm weak with, I often run my anti-bully squad build (Starstruck + Lightborn + Agitation or Iron Grasp) to shut down any Survivor shenanigans. Or I know going in I'm likely to lose with some Killers and I just accept the risk that Survivors might decide to clown on me (I love ranged Killers but oh boy am I terrible with them). There's also the exposure therapy of having played many, many Killer games by this point. In my experience, the more you play the less you eventually let these things get to you. I'm also, generally speaking, just a lot less invested in my Killer games because it's not my preferred role. All these things together combine to lessen my Killer anxiety. The only recent Killer anxiety I experienced was as a Legion in 2V8. I couldn't get any Frenzy chains going and that felt pretty bad because I was letting my partner down badly by not spreading injuries (the only thing Legion were good for). But I guess I don't have to worry about having that experience again…
What does put me off playing Killer some days is the sustained focus that you need to play the role. Sometimes I just can't be bothered with that.
-
I have plenty of hot takes but the one that's probably gained me the most down votes is defending Legion's inclusion in 2V8. I still think they belong in 2V8.
I've argued my case enough times here already, so I won't go over all that again. I'll just say BHVR did them dirty by removing them (mostly, imo, for the sins of much stronger Killers in the mode) and they barely even tried to make Legion work and leave it at that.
-
I've not been happy with Chucky since they totally removed his pallet scamper in hidey-ho mode and made him a different Killer. BHVR made him all about the Slice and Dice, which would be fine if they hadn't also decided to gut that as well by making it 8 m/s a few patches ago. Yet Wesker on the other hand gets two dashes at twice the speed and is commonly held up by the community as a paragon of balanced Killer design (make that make sense, because I just don't get it).
I still enjoy the character but he's not a serious threat and more a Killer that I only play for the memes. Perhaps it's a skill issue on my part, but I think he's pretty weak at present and I don't understand why he regularly places so highly on tier lists.
-
Going by my own play sessions I would say it's Killer sided by a long way. If I play 5 Killer games, I know I'm in with a good shot of winning most of the time and at the very least, will win at least one of those games. I say this as a fairly chill "rule book" Killer that intentionally makes trials harder for myself. But if I play double the amount of Survivor games, there's a very good chance I won't escape in any of them (and even when I do escape, the Killer rarely walks away without at least one Kill).
I don't count SWF on comms as part of the discussion because (and this might earn me some down votes) I think it's basically cheating at the game. It's the biggest balance problem facing DBD that BHVR have so far completely refused to do anything about. Yes, a good SWF on comms is very rare to face, but their existence still throws the balance of the game entirely out of whack.
There are lots of other variables people have already mentioned, but one that nobody has yet is the platform you play on. I'd say if you play Killer on Switch, the game is more Survivor sided (especially so when cross play is enabled). The poor, inconsistent frame rates you get on Switch 1 will screw you over much more severely playing Killer than when playing as Survivor. Get used to whiffing and getting spun a lot. Switch Survivors at least have the choice of playing ultra stealthy and letting the team take the heat while they busy themselves on the gens. But Switch Killers have no such luxury.
-
I dunno about that. BHVR are so weirdly inconsistent with this. Robin gets in game and lobby voice lines. Rain gets voice lines but only in the lobby. And Hinako gets no voice lines at all.
All of them are Legendary skins. I guess it must be down to the terms and restrictions of the license they agreed. I think if BHVR could've made it happen, all these characters would have in game voice lines.
-
I don't disagree with DC penalties per se, but I do disagree with how they're currently implemented. 20 games to reset a single penalty point is a lot of games to play through (a months worth really, if you don't play that much). And taking a sensible break for a mental reset isn't possible any more either because your penalty doesn't decay over time like it used to. So when you do return, you know you've got that sword of Damocles hanging over your head whenever you do decide to play again. DBD is one of those games that just rubs people up the wrong way more often than not and that isn't ever going to change. The fact that the DCs apparently sky rocket whenever the penality is turned off says a lot but I don't think BHVR are going to do anything about that. The game is fine and dandy. It's just wasted energy to argue against the status quo most of the time with this game.
If I'm not in the right state of mind or I have any doubts about loading up a game these days, I just don't.
-
Jason could use some nerfs for sure, but I don't think win streaks prove a great deal beyond the fact that to most of the player base DBD is a casual game with no ranked mode and some extremely loose match making.
Hens plays this game for a living and is playing to win. No doubt he could go on a respectable win streak with pretty much any Killer against a lobby of average players. Most of his opponents probably don't have even a 10th of his hours and are just playing for fun. A top DBD player doing a win streak in our game is like Magnus Carlsen turning up to an afternoon game of chess at a retirement home and completely destroying his opponents in less than 10 moves.
Personally, I was against making Blight 110% because most Blights are not that skilled with his power. I think all that particular nerf to him achieved was to discourage Killer players from playing him at mid and low MMR. Jason is a lot easier to play as than Blight, but I don't think a Killer that is strong in high level play is necessarily all that strong for an average skill level player. When they come to nerf Jason, I think BHVR should be careful not to make him feel too punishing to play as for the Killer players who are less skilled with his power.
-
I'm not at all motivated by BP. With all the recent giveaways, I'm 6 million above the cap and it will probably stay that way for quite a while. I'm only spending BP to earn the cakes so I can find event stuff on the map a little easier.
But it's very clear that a big chunk of the player base clearly is. I don't know why BHVR are giving players less reason to play their video game and I also don't know why BP earning is still capped as it is. It was nice of them to up the cap a little, but it's still way too low because even with a moderate, casual amount of playing you'll hit the limit pretty quickly (if you don't spend it, anyway). It's not like you can buy anything decent or totally busted with BP on the Survivor side anymore (aside form BNP, I guess) and it can't be used to buy cosmetics. Even at 1000 hours, I've hoarded so many items by this point that I'll never be able to use them all. All they're really doing here is making the grind worse for the new players.
So what are we doing limiting players from earning a (imo, nearly worthless) in-game currency? I don't get it.
-
I don't like throwing the poisons unless I'm at point blank range but I've had some success staking out a territory and poisoning the heck out of everything. I was able to get some pretty quick downs poisoning everything whilst defending a 3 gen with Legion.
Playing a Killer that can injure quickly, vault the unbreakable pallets and catch up with the mini sprint bursts helps counter a lot too.
-
Well, the dude got to make a funny and entertaining YouTube video out if it at least.
Definitely feels like BHVR over corrected from past events being way too Killer sided on this one.
-
If it was just the Legion this was affecting I think they would be getting the Kill Switch first thing Monday morning. But since there are multiple Killers and add-ons that inflict deep wound, it's probably too much to Kill Switch all that stuff just for the sake of a silly event.
I really hope they don't get Kill Switched again because they're one of the few Killers with a power than can actually deal with some of the nonsense that they've given to Survivors this Anniversary.

It was like this before the lobby split. The split was supposed to minimise it, but I guess the sweats realised they'd have an easier time killing survivors who weren't focused on gens.
I still think it was a huge mistake to split the queues for the events. Not only do we still have players completely ignoring the event, we also have even worse match-making now. This is not an improvement. The hopelessly poor MMR system doesn't even work well when there's only one queue, so it doesn't have a prayer of working when there are two queues.
I know the game has grown but I wish BHVR would realise that we still don't really have a player base large enough to support 2 queues.
It also doesn't help that you have to queue for the event to unlock the cosmetics, so we have players forced to play the mode who don't care for the goofy mechanics on offer. That said, this event is not it from a Killer perspective. Feels like you're playing against hackers and all we really have to combat that are the bottles of poison with their tiny gas clouds (which also serve to remind me why I never bother playing Clown. Aiming with the bottles on controller is a struggle).
-
For The Legion, all I really want is an add-on that increases their Feral Frenzy Vault speed (or for vault speed perks to interact with their power). When Fire Up was bugged and it increased their Feral Frenzy window vaulting speed that felt so👌
For Trapper, I'd quite like for him to get a little haste boost whenever someone steps in one of his traps. It would need to be carefully balanced, but it might help him to reach distant trapped Survivors before they can free themselves and / or give him an extra little bit of help to bear down on a target if he's already in chase. I don't think Trapper is as weak as the wider player base often thinks he is, he's just garbage against SWFs and suffers heavily for having a feast or famine playstyle.
For Billy, I'd like them to revert the nerfs they gave to his turning speed add-ons. Honestly don't know why they did this. Why do BHVR hate Drift King Billy so much?
-
Even though I think he's a bit too strong, Jason is still one of the more enjoyable recent Killers to go against for me. But yeah, I am not looking forward to an infinite number of Jasons making the anniversary event feel like we're playing the latest Friday the 13th game.
But then again, I'll also want to BE one of those infinite Jasons from time to time because he's really fun to play. It is what it is, I guess…

Heya I mostly play dbd on PC but I started this game on the switch and when it came out it actually ran pretty okay. But after each new update the game looked worse and worse on the switch hardware and the fps got pretty rough too.
My Question now is...will the game even get supported in the future? You guys already said that you are currently are not working on a switch 2 version so I'm pretty concerned that the game I payed money for will just not work anymore or get limited by not getting new content anymore or getting locked out of crossplay.
Can a Dev or Mod give some informations on this topic please?
Hearing them say no Switch 2 version is in the works makes me worry that DBD doesn't have a future on any of the Nintendo platforms. Which means a lot of very dedicated Switch players are going to lose access to a lot of the content they paid for because chapters bought in the Eshop are not currently transferable to other platforms.
I'm sure there's something in the End User Agreement that covers them legally if they do decide to drop a platform for any reason, but it's still going to hurt Nintendo gamers who will then be forced to repurchase all their unlocked content again on another platform (that's if they don't walk away for good. And who would blame them if this is how things turned out for them?). I'm lucky since most of my content I bought on PC, but I still play on my Switch occasionally and I do see the Switch 2 as a possible upgrade path for me if it got a decent version of the revamped iteration of the game.
But yeah, some clarity on the continued and future support for DBD on Nintendo's consoles would be very much appreciated (sooner rather than later).

Honestly? I'd prefer a bunch of unknown, but well casted actors for the main survivors. I want to see some actors get a chance to shine without having a named talent take all the glory for a role they're unsuited for, but attached to solely for their name recognition. Sadly, I know that's not what gets butts in seats so a recognizable actor or two will end up in the film.
That said, I sincerely hope Nicholas Cage at least makes a cameo as himself.I think we probably will get a cast of total unknowns because I'm sure this movie will have the tiniest of budgets. That said, DBD definitely doesn't come anywhere near FNAF in terms of a general audience recognition, so it may be important to cast at least one semi-famous actor to get some bums on seats.
As for who I'd like to see, I think Sadie Sink would be a perfect choice for Meg Thomas (she's a big star connected to a Marvel movie now, so there's zero chance of that), Sophie Thatcher would be a pretty good Sable and Freddie Stroma would be a pretty good choice for Dwight. I see Dwight as a slightly goofy comic relief character, which is the kind of character Freddie plays in Peacemaker (obviously, Vigilante is very different to Dwight being an over the top comic book sociopath and a terrible human being, but hopefully people can see why I'd choose his actor). It would very much depend on the tone of the film, though.
I think a DBD movie would be kinda tricky to make interesting because the game's fan favourites are all simple common horror archetypes. Sable/Mikaela, Meg, Dwight/Claudette all fit the alt girl, jock and nerd archetypes but the characters that have the deepest and most interesting connections to the lore would be better for focusing a story around. Problem is, those characters are not very popular with fans at all (Haddie, Taurie and Elodie). So I don't know who would even be in the film (aside from Sable & Mikaela with the Greenville connection).
I think that's kind of why they chose an all new cast for The Casting of Frank Stone, because it gave them a bit more freedom to write a new story and not to have to worry about that. As far as I'm concerned, TCoFS is basically a playable DBD movie/TV series anyway. But I'm still curious to see what the live action film turns out like.

The Hex one is pretty weak but I'm having fun with Silent Shadow. I think this perks is pretty good on high mobility Killers but it's also found a home in my Legion stealth build.
I came up with a silly build that I'm calling the "Slasher Icons" build. The rule for the build is that you have to use perks that feature a famous Slasher in their icon design in some way:
I chose these perks because they have decent synergy with each other (Silent Shadow goes well with the effects of Friends Till The End and Remember Me). I got a 4K with Ghostie earlier with this build, but of course I wouldn't expect to do well in most Trials with nothing to slow the gens. Sadly, Myers and Bubba don't get to join the party because they're not featured in their own perk icons, but you can of course use this build on them as well. You could also use the Alien perks if you wish, since that's arguably just a Slasher film within a Sci-Fi setting and it follows the formula very closely.
Jason's Rampage perk might also be fun in a Legion pallet shredder build, but I've yet to try that out.

Well he has downsides like slowdown when aiming the spike and slowdown again if you cancel the throw. He does also have the anti-camp that causes him to appear slower if he comes out of his power near a hooked survivor.
They're drawback on paper, but I think they don't really feel like downsides when you're playing him. They feel so minor to me that I barely notice them.
Like with huntress, if you miss all your shots you have to waste time trundling over to the nearest locker to reload. Jason can just quickly grab the nearest spike from a hook. The only way to gain haste is through add-ons and even then, there might be a trade off involved to get any value (like with Soldier's Puttee). Jason gets a generous haste boost base-kit.
Wraith is usually very loud when cloaked, has to alert Survivors whenever he's cloaking/uncloaking and can also be pretty easy to spot with the shimmering effect his cloak gives off. Jason doesn't have to deal with any of that.
-
I really enjoy his game play loop. He's like the best bits of Wraith and Huntress mashed together but with none of their drawbacks. I miss most of my shots with the spike, but I think ranged specialists will really be able to go to town with him. He is the best ranged Killer by far, imo.
I think he's maybe not very well balanced for average Survivors right now because as I said, he has no down sides to his powers, but since a lot of players are on console and playing with controller, that will probably keep his Kill rate a bit lower than it might otherwise be.
Still, it's so much fun to chuck bits of the map at Survivors and I think they've really done the character justice.
-
I put half of it into getting Jason and Ghost Face instantly up to P3. I'm not Ghost Face's biggest fan but I felt it was time to unlock him now that I can finally complete my collection of slasher movie legends.
I'm not very BP motivated, so I'm still sitting on 8 million points that I don't know what to do with. I might dump the remainder into Meg or Ripley to get myself back under the 5 million cap but then again, I might just hoard it like Smaug sitting on all that gold in the Lonely Mountain.
-
My predictions, aside from Scoob who we know will be Dwight:
Felix as Fred, Meg or Kate as Daphne (Meg fits better because of her ginger hair but Kate is way more popular, so I'm leaning towards Kate), Ace or Renato as Shaggy and Mikaela is almost certainly going to be Velma.
-
Nah. It's just a combination of the worst match-making in the business, 10+ minute Killer queues and another imbalanced half chapter attracting only one half of the player base to come back to play the game.
You're probably getting put in the wrong lobbies. Most of my games have been extremely rough since I came back from my break (mostly on Survivor, tbh). I go into all my games expecting to lose these days.
-
Hundreds of hours on this Killer and I did not know this was a thing.
You learn something new in the fog every day.
-
I'm a little apprehensive about some of the changes to be honest. I feel like the game might lose a little bit of its identity as it modernises by changing all the character models, animations and voices. It will definitely lose a little of its present day goofy, awkward charm if the changes are as radical as they're advertised to be. I wasn't around the last time these things got a big change and I imagine many players felt the same way back then that I do now. I do wonder if DBD a year from now might look and feel like playing a completely different game. That said, maybe not much will change at all and we will be having the same old silly Scooby Doo chases around a higher resolution rock, except it'll be raining and the Survivor's hair will be blowing in the wind. In other words, it will be the exact same game but much nicer looking. I would be a little bit disappointed if updating the game doesn't go far beyond nicer graphics and weather effects.
One of the things I've learned about the DBD community is that we don't really like change all that much. We had the opportunity to change the game last year but the community said no. I can see the dynamic weather systems getting a similar push back from the competitive elements of the player base, especially if it badly effects visibility and sound on certain maps or makes tracking survivors a lot more difficult. Will the devs listen to these players again and scrap or lessen the effects of the weather? I guess only time will tell.
The new 1V1 mode that they announced doesn't do it for me and I'm not skilled enough to try my hand at modding, either. I'm happy for the people excited by those things but I could take it or leave it.
The balance between changing things up to stay fresh (hopefully for the better) and keeping the familiar will be a difficult challenge for the devs to overcome and I'm not sure if they can pull it off. But I applaud their ambition to try and push the game forward, I just hope it amounts to more than a lick of paint (if all we get out of it is nicer looking game, even that might be enough to keep the game alive for at least the next 5 years). But I might not be playing for a while if the graphical overhaul is too much for my old 1050ti to take.
-
I know how you feel, OP. I've gone from being kinda hyped for the 10th Anniversary and all the things to come to wondering if I'll even be able to play the game in the near future.
Since we've just had the anniversary stream love-in, I think it's time for BHVR to really prove how much they do appreciate their player base. I think they owe it to us to at least let us know if the game is going to become unplayable on low end PCs and the older consoles and they need to do it pretty soon. And it would be a good idea to de-list the game to new players on the old platforms 6 months to a year before they finally get the chop.
As soon as I found out that Star Wars Hunters on Switch was going to be killed off, I stopped playing it completely. I felt there was no reason to keep playing a dead game at that point. Obviously DBD will continue on, but I'd appreciate a similar heads up so I don't go spending money or investing more time into a game that I won't be able to play pretty soon (it may be quite a while before I can play again).

That seems backwards to me. You'd think Nintendo wouldn't want you to get the DLCs for free, but it's that they don't want you to have them leave their platform? Yeah, that seems backwards.
I should clarify, I think it's to do with the DLC you bought in the Nintendo eshop Vs the stuff you bought in the in game shop. You can buy stuff with your cells on Switch and that can be shared with the other platforms (at least I think so). But if you bought it in the eshop then it can't be shared. Unfortunately, I bought chapters from the eshop because buying a whole chapter worked out cheaper and you also got a freebie like a charm or a cosmetic. I imagine most Switch players did as well and Nintendo probably realise this.

Ohhh… sorry to hear that, for one second I thought they managed to make switch not the worst device to play dbd lol.
I mean, looking on the bright side you do get more free characters on Switch at least (everything up to Kate and Clown is unlocked). And it's easy to spot Trapper's traps in the grass… because there is no grass.

Talking about switch, I recently downloaded my switch version of dbd that have crossprogression with my steam account, whitch is the one that I play, and I got surprised that everthing on nintendo switch was unlocked, I have never bought any dlc on nitendo switch, maybe BHVR managed to convice Nintendo to let them transfer the dlcs within the plataforms.
If you have another device you should definetly test it because I have never bought one dlc for switch.
All my PC stuff is unlocked and present when I play on my Switch, but the stuff I bought on Switch isn't unlocked on PC. Sadly, it's a one way street like that.
That's why I always buy all my content and auric cells on PC, since it's the only way that I can access it on both platforms (except for the cells. Those can't be shared with Switch but the things that I buy with them on PC can be).

You don't lose your account/progress. You just need to cross progress on your new platform. Many people use more than one platform with the same account.
Don't forget that lots of content purchased on Switch is completely locked to that platform.
If / when BHVR pull the plug on Switch my Cheryl, Pyramidhead, Mikaela, Ace, Hag, Clown, Doctor and Adam all die with it since I don't have those characters unlocked on my PC account. I'm not too bothered about losing some of those because I never actually play as them (I'd like to keep the Silent Hill and Hour of the Witch chapters). But for the people who have played on Switch since day one and nowhere else, they will lose everything but the perks they've unlocked when they move over to another platform.
I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be starting again elsewhere if it meant having to buy all that content again. I didn't get a refund of any kind from BHVR for buying the same stuff across two accounts prior to cross progression, so there's no reason to think Switch players would be able to keep all their stuff or that BHVR would offer some kind of refund.
I think there will probably be a Switch 2 version and many of the current Switch players will eventually migrate to that platform, but that's besides the point. It's Switch or nothing for a lot of the most dedicated players that are trapped on the Nintendo systems.

That's terrible news. I hope he makes a quick and complete recovery.
CountOfTheFog is the reason I don't miss 90% of the codes that BHVR share with us. I know it's only a small thing in the grand scheme of things, but it's still very much appreciated.

Same here i get consistent 120 on low, some updates cause fps to chug but tends to rebound. I say its more poorly optimized Just compared to how well other games can be optimized I have played. (some updates had fps issues but where fix fairly quickly eg rework Freddy dream world)
worry these changes will tank FPS signifgently , and with current settings we get in the game no way to try to improve FPS leading to no good way to play the game anymore for me. 🙁I'm honestly happy just chugging along at 60fps on the lowest settings (anything more than that and I get stuttering). I know I'm right at the edge of what is acceptable performance wise but then I play mostly older games and indie titles, so I don't need the latest and greatest. That's what DBD is to me, it's a slightly janky indie title at heart that became popular because of its unique game play and because it runs on pretty much everything.
If they go too far too quickly upgrading the graphics, they risk losing some of their player base. At least for a little while, anyway. At current prices, I'd need to sell a kidney to buy a decent gaming PC these days.
-
They can add some quippy one liners to the older characters if they want to. But I really, really, really hope they don't touch the screams and grunts. The sounds of Dwight and Meg are iconic at this point, they've been in so many trailers for the game I think even people who don't play DBD know what they sound like.
I've not played Steve much since they took his goofy screams away from us. I'm begging you BHVR, please don't take Meg away from us too.
-
I play DBD on a potato PC (a super old office PC with a low end graphics card from a decade ago). But even on such ancient hardware the game as it is currently runs just fine.
I personally don't care for fancy looking models or animations because DBD is not that kind of game to me, though I do understand that the game has to eventually move with the times to stay relevant and to attract new players. But there's no way in the Entity's realm that any of those gorgeous looking weather effects are going to run on my crappy PC or my OG Switch. Is this a sign that the end of DBD on Switch is maybe only a year or two in the future (I assume a Switch 2 version that can do all that jazz is in the works)?

It's mostly the little moments that stick in the mind for me. The Renato wearing the brightest possible fit trying to hide in a bush on the old red Borgo map (Protip - If you are a stealth player, Renato is definitely not your guy). The Leon that used his beamer to point out the moon to me while we stood on the Yamaoka estate main building (I was playing as Susie). We shared a tender moment appreciating the view together (before I killed him, of course). Another Leon that I played whack a mole with as Trickster on the harvester on one of the Coldwind maps. The streamer that successfully hid from me not by hiding in a locker, but by standing right next to it instead (I caught him the second time he tried it). Every winter event trial that spontaneously erupted into a giant snowball fight and every snowman jump scare (I really missed those guys last year). I got so good at mimicking the way the empty snowmen moved that I could often sneak by the Killer without them noticing me.
One of my favourite memories was against a Spirit on Ormond that had broken all the hooks around the exit gates. Everyone else was dead but we had gotten the gates fully powered, so my Dwight would run to the gate to progress it a little, she would grab me off the gate and try to carry me to a hook but I'd always wriggle free. I'd then use my Lithe to make distance and reach the gate again to keep progressing it a little. I think it was 5 or 6 times before I eventually screwed up and didn't quite make enough distance back to the gate and she got me. I'm sure it was an annoying experience for her but to me it was hilarious. Obviously, this could not happen today with hooks respawning and the finisher mori being in the game. But I'm still glad I got to experience a little bit of that old DBD jank from the before times.
Anyway, here's to 10 more years of those kinds of shenanigans.

I think BHVR should avoid splitting the queues unless absolutely necessary. I'm still not totally convinced splitting the queues for the big events is a good idea either, for all the difference it doesn't make to the way people play.
I played my first afternoon of Trials for a while today and I experienced some of the most imbalanced games I've ever played. Why don't they learn that the game just doesn't have the player base to support two queues at same time and still be able to give players a reasonably fair match-making experience?
As far as I know, they've never given us a rational for running these "map showcases". Who in their right mind wants to play on the same map over and over again, anyway? A big part of the fun of this game is the random elements. If this is a compromise for the players that liked using map offerings, I'd honestly rather have those back than have these pointless showcases destroy the already poor match-making system (and I say that as someone who was really happy to see map offerings get a well deserved nerf). I would also rather have boosted maps over a separate queue if they want players to play certain maps more often.
-
Before my time they kind of had something similar with the (now meaningless) grade system acting as a kind of ranking system. But from what I understand, even in those days players would complain about their lobbies being full of "rainbow ranks". But at least you could see it if was working as intended or not.
There was also the argument that at the end of the month, the higher ranks would eventually become meaningless because everyone who played enough would reach the top rank and so you would still be getting some imbalanced trials. There's also the race back to Iri/red at the start of a reset, which probably made the games feel sweatier (like I said, I wasn't playing back then but this happens in other games with ranked modes, so I could see it happening in DBD as well).
Why BHVR changed the system from one that didn't work well but was visible to the one that also doesn't work well but is invisible is anyone's guess. That said, I barely play enough to get out of ash rank at the moment, so I'd be curious to see what my games would feel like if we still had the old system.

I always think whatever works for you personally is a good build and what everyone else thinks doesn't really matter.
But I would say as a general rule, a good build for a beginner (or returning player trying to shake off the rust) is one that is fairly balanced and not too specialised. So for me that means a perk that progresses the objective, a perk that helps you out in chases and a perk that helps your teammates and yourself survive for as long as possible.
My basic core build is Sprint Burst + Botany Knowledge + Self-Care + something else (for me, that's usually Resilience).
Sprint Burst is the best exhaustion perk of all, imho. Unlike Lithe, you can use it anywhere on the map without alerting the Killer. It can get you away from a hook if the Killer is returning to tunnel you out and it's helped me get some last second cross map unhooks at times as well. It just has so much utility that often isn't mentioned.
Botany is great for healing up your teammates and makes a Self-Care heal take 30 seconds (which is only 6 seconds longer than a Med-Kit self heal). Keeping your teammates healthy matters a lot to beginner players because it helps to extend their chases as they won't be very good at looping. Newer players will often play too cautiously when injured and often won't get involved or progress the game as they should without being healed up.
I liked Self-Care a lot as a beginner because low MMR Survivors are a lot less altruistic and won't always heal you up after an unhook. But you can free up a perk slot and take a Med-Kit if you prefer. There's also a risk of toxicity from other Survivors now that the team can see your perks (some Survivors really hate this perk).
For a free build available to everyone, I would say Deja Vu, Kindred or Resilience are a very good 4th perk choice for this build. Other excellent 4th choice perks are Bond, Alert, Prove Thyself, We'll Make It, Will To Live and Borrowed Time.
That said, according to my stats I have a 33% escape rate with most of these perks. So make of that what you will!

Oh so many Sables…
I knew everyone's favourite (or least favourite) mall goth was going to be popular but I didn't think she would be that popular. It surprises me that not even Feng comes close to her in popularity.
-
Very well made teaser trailer but I couldn't tell you what it was hinting at beyond the anniversary event (if there even is anything at all there. I'm not seeing the Pennywise connection that a lot of people are suggesting).
Side note, what are the chances this 1 minute trailer ends up being better than the entire DBD movie that we'll be getting some day? Maybe they should let whoever made this make a DBD movie on a shoestring budget if Blumhouse don't pull their finger out.
-
I don't hate on any particular Killer these days (probably because I don't play enough Survivor). My frustrations are more down to certain play styles and those can by an annoyance whoever the Killer is. Some of these play styles are unfortunately encouraged by Killer design, like an Oni slugging the entire team or a high mobility Killer returning to hook to tunnel. It isn't a great deal of fun to go up against these strategies if you play in Solo Q, the team usually crumbles under the pressure. I don't think Survivor's really a team effort in the purest sense unless you're a SWF on comms.
That said, Pinhead is probably my least favourite Killer design in the game. Playing against him is absolute torture to me, which I guess is at least thematically appropriate for him. I'm never too thrilled to see a Wesker or a Ghostie either, but I think that's partly down to how common these Killers can be at low to mid MMR. I just get so tired of seeing these guys. Familiarity breeds contempt and all that. I think this is where a lot of the Ghoul and Blight hate comes from at high MMR, too.
-
I miss The Clown's opposite day add-on, the video tape one that switched the colours of his gas bottles. I still don't understand why BHVR changed it.
I mean, I think I only ever played Clown a couple of times for a daily BP challenge, but that add-on was the only one I would run (along with the confetti bottle).
