I do (usually) still down them but unless someone has irked me in the game, I will always let them get the thingy if they stop midchase or just before a chase starts to grab the thingy

  • Honestly, it wouldn't shock me if there was some DBD Fatigue from the players, especially that first week when you see the BP levels drop back down to normal levels and you realize just how little you get every game.

I have no idea if that's the issue but I know my amount of playing significantly dropped once the event was done with.

  • I'm on Xbox Series X so at any point I can record my last 30 seconds. With a few button clicks, I could also just start recording and have the entire match to that point recorded.

But I don't because doing a report takes so long that I could play an entire match before I finished my report. I'm not going to use up my free time to police a game that BHVR should be policing themselves. Sorry not sorry *shrug*

I've done 2 playthroughs with my brother. He bought the game for PS5 and we played it together. I thought the game was pretty neat, but i don't think the game is worth the money. One playthrough is about 8-10 hrs, and whilst you can replay it, it's a pain to replay because of how much stuff you have to rewatch.

My honest thoughts on the game is that it's not very memorable. The gameplay itself feels very uninteractive, as it's either very easy, or extremely unforgiving. Most of the characters are likable, but it feels like the characters do not realise how surreal the situation they are in is and it makes them feel unrealistic. Also, the endings. The endings are extremely underwhelming because they boil down to what characters lived and who didn't. You do not know what happens at all after the night ends. It feels really unsatisfying, there's no pay off for caring about the characters or their relationships.

But i did enjoy playing it, infact we played the game in two sittings of 5 hours. It was really just that engaging. Also the game is scary and some of the deaths are very disturbing. The graphics are fantastic, i liked some of the music.

I recommend waiting until the game is steeply discounted (at least by 50%)

    Overall i give it a 7/10

Did you play Until Dawn, Man of Medan, or whatever the other two are called? My assumption looking at this game is that it would be very similar to all of them but then if that would be the case, why wouldn't this game be part of the The Dark Pictures Anthology with Man of Medan and whatnot...

Like many here I imagine, I loved Until Dawn and Man of Medan (I have yet to play the other two, probably why I don't remember their names but I do intend to get them even though I heard the second of the three was meh) so just to get perspective on your score, what did you think of them (assuming you played them)

Ok bud. Once again great advice and input on the topic. Its a mental health issue. For sure.

I didn't say a thing about mental health...

I'm sorry if my second comment was taken as a dig against you as that was not my intent. I hope you have nicer opponents in the future.

so the 99% being from console is just coincidence. I understand now. And as a matter of fact PC are even more toxic. Thank you for the insightful opinion

So console gamers are the most toxic. Except for PC gamers, who are even more toxic...

Are you doing OK? I kind of feel like you might just need to take a bit of a break from killer for just a little bit. I don't know if it'll help but it probably won't hurt.

  • Do I just need to start copy/pasting this? Although I guess this is about being toxic rather than skill so...progress?

I've played with toxic AF survivors on console. I've played with toxic AF survivors on PC. I've played against toxic AF survivors on console. I've played against toxic AF survivors on PC.

What particular device you use to play a game on has zero barring on whether you're a jerk or not. I guess the only mild caveat this gets is on PC you get the End Game Chat so you can be more toxic more efficiently if you choose to be a toxic butthole but other than that, there is no difference between the two.

  • Almost certainly not as there seem to be some copyright things with it and New Line Cinema (basically like Friday the 13th, Wes Craven's estate has the rights to the character but NLC has rights to international distribution or something)

Freddy in DBD was made with New Line Cinema (hence we got the crappy version of Freddy instead of the good one)

  • I probably should not be playing a game like this given my own mental state

    ...

    ...

    ...

    *Boots up DBD*

    I regret everything

  • I don't have PTB since BHVR does not feel like console gamers deserve it but isn't that always the case?

  • Man...everyone else is either really good at remembering stuff or I'm a dum dum cause I had to look up the answers on like...four of the first six questions and determined this was going to take WAAAAAAAAAAY too long for me to be worth 1,000,000 BP...

You know what? I did a quick listing of my supply, and things don't look half as bad. I got 209 flans over all my survivors and a staggering 616 over all my killers, all in all a combined 825.

So 2.35 flan a day should last till the 7th anniversary. Tough, but doable.

I was on vacation for a week of the event so I missed out on a ton of flan gathering :(

Thankfully I have no life (...wait) so I was still able to get the tome done and got a good chunk of flans but I'm guessing I got about 200ish flans total between all my killers/survivors.

  • *Nervously scratching at my arm and licking my lips*

Y'all got any more of those flans?

  • @EvilJoshy said:

Lets not pretend survivors are "only" dcing because of face camping. I admit face camping contributes to it but I have survivors dc because they were the first one to be found.

On a side note, half the survivor player basis can uninstall and my que times won't be affected because there are plenty to go around. More people playing killer will affect my que time greater than survivors quitting the game. If this game were an MMO, killer is a tank/healer role and survivor is a dps. I have no trouble finding parties :p

Your first paragraph is a major part of it. As a killer, I see survivors screwing each other over constantly (DCs, suiciding on hook, farming hooks, etc). As a survivor, I see myself constantly losing teammates to DCs, suicides on hook, and getting pulled off the hook when the killer hasn't had two seconds to even try to walk away. Whether the killer was a "bad sport" with camping/tunneling or not, far too many survivors are doing the "shove a stick in their own bike tire, crashing, and yelling DAMN KILLERS!!!!" meme.

There are absolutely issues (for both sides) but in my experience at least, many of the survivor issues are self inflicted wounds.

  • That is a very good reason

I asked for a Holly picture the other day and got squat ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ‘Ž

Holly knows her worth! You wanna see the kitty, you gotta pay the toll! She don't give up the goods for free.

Edit: I asked Holly and she said just this one time you can have a pic for free. So here's her eating her wet food because Holly gets all of the nice things.

    PXL_20220629_121450976.jpg

  • I will play as the quote unquote Fair Killer unless the survivors give me a reason to do otherwise.

Bodyblocking with BT is the quickest way to get in my ish list. I will throw the game if I have to in order to demonstrate my displeasure.

There's no plan to extend the Event I'm afraid.

probably not (from an earlier thread this morning)

  • "remove hook states per survivor, all hooks are shared between all survivors"

You said you wanted to remove tunneling, not give a better incentive for it. If there are three really good loopers and one weak looper, killers would hammer the hell out of the weak link until it's now a Death Hook then get a good looper. Sorry good looper, you got one chase and now you're dead cause I stacked against the weak player.

Am I really the only person on this planet who likes playing solo queue?

It's all I play so it's gotta be doing something right if I haven't sworn it off forever

  • Shame cause there's a SUPER adorable picture of Holly waiting for a good reason to be posted. But Holly knows her worth! She don't give up the adorable goods for free...

  • Survivors use BT offensively all the time right now and you want to make it so they no longer have a time limit to this? Just a unlimited bodyblock power until the killer finally just gives in and hits them?

BT bodyblocking is already a huge pain when I'm TRYING to go after someone else, I can't imagine what it would be like if you let survivors dictate when that power goes away...

  • Yup, anytime you get the killer TIPPY2K, you're facing DBDs boss battle!!!

Unfortunately it's one of those joke boss battles where they're built up as the ultimate badass but die when you hit them once :(

  • While I agree we should see our rankings (even if we don't get to see our opponents), I would think it would be expected by anyone who has ever played a multiplayer game that the better you do, the higher rank you go and therefore tougher opponents.

Hmmm. I felt like the kills were quite good, though maybe I'm remembering things wrong.

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning โ–ฒ โ–ผ

Also, I thought watching Tommy slowly descend into madness (especially considering how nice of a guy he was before he was cursed) was really heartbreaking. While it was definitely inspired off of things like Friday the Thirteenth, I feel like Part 2 was trying to be more than just a cheesy slasher, same goes for Part 1 really (though I think it fails at this more than Part 2 did).

The story of 2 was great, 100% agreed

Also I had no idea you could do spoilers on this forum... :D

  • @QwQw said:

Really? I'd say it gets better as the films go on. With 1 being the most campy (but still good) and 2 and 3 being really good.

I did not like 2 at all. 1 was good, 2 was blaugh, 3 was good

OP stop reading unless you want mild spoilers

Although I guess my big problem with 2 is the expectations of the genre. The story was interesting and it did a good job of building to 3 but I hated the lack of kills more or less. Like I get that it's a summer camp so they likely didn't want to show a bunch of kids getting slaughtered but a good 3/4 the kills were cutaway kills. We don't watch slasher movies for it to turn away at the horror money shot and most of 2 was that. Just a very irksome experience to me watching a slasher film that was scared to show slashing...

It wasn't a bad movie but that made it very disappointing to me

  • Overall it's a very good series and one that could make for an easy DBD transition since they're all pretty basic slasher flicks.

Unfortunately the first one is easily the best as it kind of goes downhill (2 was especially meh) but they're all good to decent stabby stab movies to shut your brain off to and watch.

  • Because it's almost always the "tactically" correct action. 3v1 is considerably easier than 4v1 and the faster you can make it 3v1, the more likely you're going to win as a killer.

Just kidding, it's devour hope and I'm already to 5 stacks. GGs everyone!

I have been fooled!!!! Curse this crafty killer!!!

  • Did I punch/stab/bonk/claw/weird symbol/slash you with a M1 attack and you went down right away and it made a BWAA noise and tell everyone they're now exposed and a Hex symbol has shown up on the screen?

If so, I probably have NOED on

  • I had someone I went around to go after the unhooker as the unhooked attempted to bodyblock. The unhooker went to a Double L window nearby where the unhooked hid so when I turned the corner and swung, I hit the unhooked person with BT instead

You better believe the second I caught that BT blocker that they went right in the basement and I didn't move an inch except to shake my head No at anyone who tried to walk by me at the top of the stairs.

Street Justice against the BT Bodyblocker. You want me to go after you instead, you've got yourself a deal.

  • @ColonGlock said:

Fearmonger counters Kindred. It also frequently results in people dying on the hook because the survivor on gens is not paying attention to the status hud.

    This

I'm a solo player so I can't ask my team what's going on. It might not be a huge deal each time but the five seconds I have to get off the gen to see what's going on with the hooked person can really add up.

As a killer, I've had survivors go into 2nd stage running it. It's not impossible that could have happened anyway but information is far more important than people give it credit for in this game and losing that info can hurt badly if they're not paying close attention.

The exhaustion is also nice. Five seconds goes by real slow when the killer is coming at you and you desperately need your sprint burst, lithe, DH, etc. It's also a great equalizer if they use their perk and you lose track of them. Unless they plan on not doing anything for 40 seconds, they're not getting their perk back until I down them.

  • But that is true of every thread on the forum that has ever existed, currently exists, or ever will exist in this timeline and all others

  • Well as a killer, that's what I do not want

Because right now, there are two kinds of games; against a SWF and against Solo Que. The vast majority of my games are I curb stomp the group of survivors or I get my head curb stomped by the group of survivors.

While it is certainly not 100% the case (you can happen to be four solos who are just good at the game and/or in-sync and you can be a four man SWF that wouldn't know how to escape if instead of doing 5 gens, you had five buttons that said PRESS TO ESCAPE and they'd manage to screw it up), I would wager that most of those curb stompings are solos and most of those received curb stompings are SWFs

I had high hope when the devs announced that icon thing that told solos what each other was doing but that seems to not be a very high priority for them for some strange reason

  • @EvilJoshy said:

    No

    This

Anytime the DC penalty is off, it is a pandemic of DCs

    Don't like the map? That's a DCing

    Don't like the killer/survivors? That's a DCing

Don't like the overall vibe of the game after it loaded? You better believe that's a DCing

Getting a game without a DC was a damn miracle at times...

I said I personally take hit. Everyone doesn't have to and they could just be doing it for the boldness points like I said. Staying in your terror radius until they can't anymore.

Secondary reason, a teammate may be trying to open the other gate and if the killer wants to spend their time chasing me out, I'll stand there and waste their time. Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but I know that's what I do and I'm sure many others think the same way. I just think it's weird that the first conclusion some of yall jump to is "they're doing it to bully and be mean". Why is that always the first assumption

Because I'm going off of what the OP is saying instead of throwing in my own variables.

    The OPs Variables:

-The survivors are all there (so you're not waiting to see if someone needs help)

-The survivors are just standing there. They are not leaving on their own, just standing there. They are not/will not leave until you walk over to them.

-The survivors wait until you get in range to hit them and then they leave (at least if they took the hit they could say that they wanted to give you points)

I'm not jumping to any conclusions. I am taking the information the OP has given and giving my opinion accordingly. That is why I concluded they're just taunting you (even if it's a little baby version of a taunt, it's still a taunt). Based on the information the OP provided, there is zero tactical reason or benefit to them acting that way (because if you were doing it for the BP, taking the hit is the best option since you're safe AND you're going to get some extra BP out of it), therefore there is only one conclusion left.

If you are not doing what the OP has stated, then you are not being called a taunting jerk and you can continue on doing what you do

  • Because he's super fun!

you sound very paranoid and insecure XD literally sound like a 4 year old

You get boldness points the longer you're in a killer's terror radius. So I'll stand there until I get hit out unless I'm bored and just feel like moving on

Except the OP specifically said they are fully health, wait for the killer to go over to them, and then they walk out before getting hit.

So you didn't get hit so that checks off your first thing. And you didn't get bored waiting for the killer as the killer is actively walking up to you to hit you.

There is literally zero other reason besides taunting for a survivor to do that. But sure, if you'd rather just insult me, I suppose that's an equally valid argument.

  • They're still mocking you

    That's what they're doing

You can't touch me Ne ner Ne ner Neeee neeeeer

  • Premonition, Kindred, Object of Obsession, and Dark Sense

Killer-players are happy with this patch. Survivor-players are extremely upset and have the right to be, this is the 4th patch in a row where survivor players were nerfed.

Well I play as both and am very happy with it so *shrugs*

  • From at least what I've seen, people for the most part seem pretty happy with this overall. Some little nitpicks and whatnot but overall happy

But "this all looks good, keep up the good work" threads don't last very long on the front page (if they even get posted).

I'll still reserve judgment until it's all actually out and playable but overall from what I've seen, there's way more positives than negatives

  • BHVR doesn't let me, otherwise I'd consider it

  • I am on vacation this week (coming back tomorrow but have been gone all week with no DBD) so I agree!
