In Game Reporting does nothing without a report ticket also being filled out. If a Report Ticket is also filled out, then in theory someone will review what you reported and act accordingly
Props does nothing. Presumably they meant for it to do something at some point but right now unless it's a secret, it does nothing

I do not have any new pictures of Holly but I did take a nice picture of a loaf of bread. You could cuddle with that I suppose.

141,460 :D
So...a few

It's like 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife
-
If anything, my solo experience has gotten much better since the first day as the MMR seems to be adjusting and putting the survivors in the ranks they should be without being able to just rely on DH
I got killed constantly at first but everything is leveling back out where I'm winning more than I'm losing now (as long as no one DCs...)

BP for about one bloodweb; OK
An excuse to post Holly's butt; priceless

Yeah, I can't imagine being a brand new player coming in.
This update was great for seasoned vets when it came to the BP stuff (since everyone I own is at least Prestige 2 in the new system, if not P3 or higher) as I won't ever have to grind for all that stuff ever again but if you booted up the game today for the first time, it seems like it would take for-freaking-ever to do anything
Although it's been two and a half years since I've been a brand new player so maybe it's always felt like that but I have just played so long at this point that I don't remember...

DH was killing the game almost by itself
This
I essentially stopped playing M1 killers because if you ran into a squad of DHs, there was absolutely nothing you could do about it. In the hands of four at least decent players, DH would quite literally kill any chance of being able to do a lot against survivors.
It also doesn't help that the squads that did run DH KNEW they were basically untouchable and made very sure to remind you of this constantly with clicky clicks and tbagging and other ish. Seriously, the amount of BM I receive as a killer has DRASTICALLY dropped because the survivors know that they can't get away with it anymore (or at least not nearly as easily as they could).
Just made the game infuriating rather than fun
-
Honestly, I always just play whatever has the shortest queue. So whatever incentive I get on top of that will just be gravy :)
Both Side Player FTW!

There is approx 6,531,775 ways to counter BBQ & Chilli. The perk is fine.

Ok, but what about the built-in BT? It's not just a perk anymore, it's a game mechanic, you get unhooked and you have a few seconds of grace period.
I'm mostly wondering if this is intended (if so by what logic) or a bug.
In the eyes of the game, they're not hooks. Cages are their own beast entirely.
So my assumption is that it's working as intended.
-
They don't count as hooks for both sides. So on the survivor side, things like BT and OTR. For killer, that means things like Make Your Choice or Dying Light
I couldn't tell you why BHVR made that decision but that's why your perks don't activate when you are caged

Had a killer who was going for my unhooker choose to tunnel me instead because they thought I was trying to body block. Unfortunately, we were in a hallway and I couldn't avoid unintentional bodyblocking lmao. Makes me feel like they should just remove collision while you have endurance.
I can't speak for every killer obviously but I'd likely not "count" that as you trying to get in my way personally. I've had situations as a killer where I hit the unhooked by mistake (usually the stupid auto aim dressing thing) and I'd let them go.
I'm talking about the survivors who get in your way and just stand there or in one case, a survivor I went around chasing someone at a L and the unhooked went around the L and crouched to make sure I'd get stuck on them instead of letting me continue my chase. Those are the survivors I decide are now going to be "tunneled" by me.
-
I've said it before and I'll say it again and I might even say it a third time!
If I am going after the unhooker and you specifically get in my way in that process, I am now coming after you. I had a different target in mind so I wouldn't punish you for your teammates greedy stupid unsafe unhooking and "tunnel" you but if you insist on being my target, who am I to tell you that you can't be?
-
I'm honestly curious how many killers don't know about the nerf (so they've kept it on not realizing they're not getting the BP bonus) or are like me where I just keep forgetting to swap it out when I switch killers out.
After the nerf, it has become a middle of the road perk for killers. It's not as awful as I expected it to be but there are much better perks to use over it now.
-
I use both Kindred and Bond on my "I want to win" build because that information is so important to me that it's well worth it.
It sucks to have to burn perk slots for something a 4 man would have baked in but whatchagonnado?

Hello Holly!

I also just now realize this was the wrong thread (supposed to go in the "cute pics" thread) and was about to delete it but now it's been commented on so...
now what? :D
I guess I'll pretend like this was on purpose and this was your payment for putting me down as a favorite forum member. So now it's in the right place! I didn't make a mistake, totally on purpose it going here!

Alright, normally Holly requires a code to work (she knows her worth, she ain't free!) but this pic was too great for me to wait for a new code. Especially as I'm getting a Holly pic backlog...

What if I drop the flashlight where you can see it?
GENERALLY survivors who drop their items at the end as an offering I will let go.
...generally 😈
Although if you want an honest answer, it would depend on how I feel at the end. Someone who quick switched and just had the flashlight without being a giant nuisance I'd probably still let go like I normally would. If you were an annoying clickity click who was annoying and clickity clicky, then I'd probably still murder you for it :D

You said you'd go for the unhooker if a survivor gets unhooked in your face, but you also said that if the unhooked survivor quick switched you'll tunnel them. Am I correct?
Yes, if the person who is unhooked is the flashlight switcher, I will go after them instead of the person who unhooked. Normally I would not do that as I feel like that is unsporting and I like to play "fair" as a killer. But someone doing a flashlight quick switch has forfeited that.

No.
they made these changes to address months (if not years) worth of complaints of a stale meta and busted perks like DH
if they had given up on the game, they'd be content to leave it as is and keep releasing feng min cosmetics and new chapters
They took a big risk with this patch, which shows they do care.
This
Normally I don't bother responding to a Sluzzy thread but this bears repeating
BHVR could have very easily just coasted on what they had and kept releasing DLC to keep that money train rolling. While there were certainly killers leaving, enough new blood was coming in that they could have milked the game for at least a few more years as there is still no real competitor to the Juggernaut that is Dead by Daylight
Instead they did a big overhaul and made some huge changes. While I do agree they probably went a bit too far this go around, this has happened before and BHVR generally does a good job of readjusting. While they certainly could go faster in that process, nothing in their history suggests that they're going to keep the game in this state and just throw in the towel.

Now your chasing the only survivor who is planning to go for flashlight saves. Meaning 3 survivors are working on gens now instead of 2.
Not very effective…
Except I specifically said "I will not go out of my way to tunnel you but I won't go out of my way to not tunnel you".
As in, I'm not going to exclusively focus on the person who did the quick switch BUT if an opportunity arises where I have the choice between going after the flashlight switcher or going after someone else, I will choose the flashlight switcher.
-
Switching to a flashlight at the last second is a quick way to end up on my "No Mercy for that person" list. By default, you no longer qualify for the Hatch if I have the option to do so as a killer and while I still won't go out of my way to tunnel you, I will no longer not go out of my way to not tunnel you (like if someone is unhooked in my face, I go after the unhooker instead of the unhooked because I feel bad for them but if you did a last second switch, I'm going to do the "smart" play instead and drop you right away again).
If you're gonna try to do me dirty, I will respond in kind

Swearing to stop using DH and IW months ago was the best decision I made
The changes barely impacted my gameplay
For whatever reason, I never really could get into the swing of DH. As a killer, I knew it was stupid powerful but I just never liked it as a survivor. I don't know if that's my killer empathy or what but I've always liked to use Lithe instead.
Honestly the only thing that I do think sucks is that I have a bunch of "fun" builds for my survivors but if I want a chance to actually survive, I basically can't use them unfortunately. Which is...annoying as those fun builds are...well...fun but it's kind of nice to be a survivor and actually now have to work for my survival. A killer now has to be REALLY bad for me to get a boring game where we just punch through the gens and leave (which granted, I've still had a few of those but they're far rarer now than they were pre-patch).
-
I have liked it
There are absolutely some tweaks that need to be made, especially for people like me in Solo Queue. But I've gotten to play against a bunch of M1 killers these last few days and it wasn't the usual slaughter it would be. We had to friggin WORK to escape (when we did escape at least...).
Now it helps that I never really played meta perks so I had no real adjustment I had to make but I am finding that escaping is far harder than it was before and I am loving that. I suppose maybe it'll eventually get annoying but I'm Solo Queue, I'm used to constantly dying so whatever.
-
I always play whatever the fastest queue time is. While I consider myself a mixed player, this is the main reason why I generally played a 70/30 or so split between killer and survivor (because after work is usually when I get to play the game, which is when the killer role was immediate and survivor took time to get into).
Unless there is something I need to get done (like a daily), I'll almost always play whatever queue gets me in the game fastest

I'd like Holly's opinion on this topic...
Holly is a cold blooded killer who doesn't care how she gets her kills as long as she gets to kill so she's fine with it
-
Absolutely
Sometimes it can be hard to tell who is just not good at the game versus who is actively throwing games but I'm either stuck back in MMR Hell where I have nothing but scared little bunny rabbits for teammates or people are just throwing the game and not really doing anything to help with anything.
Seriously fellow survivors, I get that the patch wasn't great for solo survivors but quit the damn game if you're going to throw a F'ing hissy fit over it instead of ruining the game for the four other players trying to play the damn game.
-
I'm kind of half and half since playing some more solo survivor
On the one hand, my games have been much tighter (especially against the normally cake walk M1 killers), which to me at least makes them much more enjoyable. We're getting gens done but we are losing and winning by the skin of our teeth. I feel like I have to actually work at this point in order to give myself a chance to escape. It does help me though that I never really used any survivor meta perks so I had very little adjusting I had to do
That being said though, I have also found that if I do want an actual chance to escape, my "sweaty" survivor build (Bond, Kindred, Lithe, and Prove Thyself) are basically a requirement. Which is kind of unfortunate as I have a bunch of "fun" builds but if I bring my fun builds, the killer has to be just God awful in order for me to have any kind of a chance to win. This also clearly did nothing to help with camping and tunneling, though to be fair to the update, camping and tunneling has been an issue for quite a while so I don't think it's fair to blame the patch on that. It's just that previously if a killer camped/tunneled, it still felt like you had a chance to hammer gens and go but now it feels like you're kind of screwed...
It feels like they went with the plan to buff solo players to closer to SWF levels and then buff the killers in order to help level the playing field for everyone but then forgot to do the solo buff. I run Bond and Kindred right now in my builds because while information has always been useful in this game, it's now a requirement if you want any chance to survive. Something is desperately needed for solos to get the same kind of info that SWFs get for free because right now I have to burn two perk slots just to put myself at their level. It used to be highly encouraged and a good idea pre-patch but now it feels like a must if you want to have a chance to survive the trial and it shouldn't be like that...
-
So...reward them for it by giving them essentially a guaranteed win by making it a 3v1 against the team you just ditched?
That'll show them!
-
I've noticed no real change to my games as a solo survivor but I've never liked the meta perks so nothing really changed for me
Except for the one Forever Legion game I played and the one with a tunneling blight (something you had to deal with prepatch too), the games have all been enjoyable to me.
I've actually enjoyed the games more now. The games have been a lot closer and more exciting to me. Surviving now seems to happen by the skin of our teeth rather than the usual killer curb stomp, which is much more enjoyable.
Granted I've only played 6 survivor games so far so I'll be curious to see if this pattern continues for me
-
I'm guessing they're going to want to give it more than 24 hours before they decide if they're happy with how it's going or not...
-
Holly
-
Huh, neato
Be kind of nice to be able to talk to my PC peeps when we play games together.
-
Yeah, it's been nutter butters since I got home and seems to show no sign of improvement
I'd think all those survivors who swore off the game forever after their favorite perk got cut down would have made a dent in the queue time but I guess not. I guess I'll have to see if solo queue is as awful as people are saying later once it calms down a bit.
-
I figured it was broken since it's giving survivors 100% right now in my game despite there being a 5+ minute (I got bored and stopped so I have no idea how long the wait is currently) for survivor while killer was immediate.
BHVR just doin BHVR things :D
(love you BHVR!)
-
I have it and I didn't do anything to get it so presumably it is automatic
-
Same
Oh wait, you mean about the P3 thing?
Oopsy. I didn't bother doing it. I've been playing for over 2 years now and just never really bothered to do any prestiging at all. I figured at this point, it just wasn't really worth the effort of trying to fly through a bunch of prestiges to try to get some peeps at P3.
-
I generally cycle three different games depending on what I'm doing; DBD (when I want a quick gaming session), Slay the Spire (when I want to play a game while watching Youtube or something since you don't need any sound for Slay), and whatever single player game I am currently playing when I'm just gaming (currently Life is Strange True Colors).
DBD is basically the only multiplayer game I ever play so it's likely I would just not play multiplayer games again if I lost DBD since I didn't really find Evil Dead did a very good job of scratching that particular itch
-
If the killer is at the gate ready to hit, I'll let them hit me just to give us the few extra points
I won't sit there though if the killer is not in the area or if it's clear the killer has no desire to get the hit (like they walk away or whatnot). But if the killer wants the hit, I'll let them hit me out of the trial.
-
This is where you can write a report for BHVR and would be your best bet
