that's correct!
So does that mean you throw it at them and it does nothing unless you walk through it?

It's instant and does not slow your movement speed.
Is there any chance you guys are considering reducing the amount Clown is slowed while reloading his bottles?

They are cutting reload time down by 2 seconds. No idea what's going to happen with reload addons though, but they do need to buff movement speed while reloading. I can see new bottle being somewhat useful if they indeed do that.
Oh I missed the reload time being cut. That takes it to 3 seconds then I think? That would be a pretty good place then.

I mean literally the first totem broken, no matter which one it is WILL be undying. So like...the aura reading isn't going to last past the first minute of any game anyways, so the least they can do is give you the option to defend it if someone is IMMEDIATELY on top of it.
I also feel they should have swapped the aura with thrill of the hunt's notification, and then given the aura reading to Thrill of the hunt. That would have applied an nerfed info to undying while buffing thrill of the hunt which needs it; and would give people a reason to gamble a third perk slot.
I like that idea quiet a bit actually. Hell Thrill could be run by itself as a map tracking perk.

If they want us to use his bottles for map and gen pressure. I said this in another comment they need to let him move at 115% ms or whatever speed he gets through his yellow clouds when he reloads also. That will push him up significantly, and I could see it being used for map pressure, but he is extremely slow already when he reloads, so it's not going to make much of a difference at all.
I think being slowed during reload is fine. They need to cut the reload time and make the slow less though.
-
@Victor_hensley said:
you can use the antidote out of chase for more gen pressure, even with the reload (which is shorter), plus you are not even considering the addon pass which will (most likely) make it much more powerful. I think you are just day 1 paranoid right now.
That was the main use that I thought of when I read it. Helping with cross map mobility.

@[Deleted User] said:
I get the change; but they should have left the aura reading on lit totems...I mean the very first totem broke will delete that effect anyways. At least give them the option of ONE CHANCE at initial defense.
I expected/thought a nerf would make sense; but they are doing the usual BHVR action of going TOO far.
I don't even use ruin undying on anyone right now and I find it silly, I've played against it as survivor and it was never that big of a deal to break at least 2 totems- but after that it was a problem because they knew you were on EVERY totem and could defend them so hard.
So they removed it's defense AND it's respawning effect down to just one use only.
So now using it with ruin means it will be gone in like 60 seconds instead of 30.....SMH. They did not think that one through at all.
I do agree that the auras should have stayed.
-
Wraith buffed. Trapper buffed. Undying is at worst a lateral move.
Compared to survivors getting never used perks buffed to still never used status.
So how did killers come out of this patch bad again?
-
They took a perk and broadened it's use. That is a good thing.
-
@voorheesgt said:
I'm stoked that tokens will carry over. It does neuter ruin undying (which is only powerful part time, and takes 2 perk slots that can be gone in under 2 minutes), but it opens the possibilities for lullaby and devour to actually be useful.
I was starting to think I was the only one who was seeing the upside. It made the ruin combo slightly less powerful in exchange for making other hex perks good. I see this as an even trade if not a slight buff.
-
@Kingpaulmathers said:
As per usual the devs have no idea what they are doing. Like how they are nerfing Undying, all because the crying survivor mains never shut up and get what they want.
Whereas I see the change as a wash to even being a buff. Ruin becomes weaker. But Devour Hope is now useful with it.
As for the OP. It's free extra points for playing like you would have anyway. Something more creative would have been nice. But it's still pretty fair.
-
I'm looking forward to this as well. It's such a nice buff.
-
I would guess they'll add something to buff the new bottles. That or combine it into the existing extra debuff addons.
-
Not really. I feel like this is a really nicely balanced update. Killers and survivors both got nice quality of life updates.
The Wraith's true invisibility is an awesome addition. Not as much as I'd have liked for him. But still a step in the right direction.
Clown getting a second kind of bottles is potentially a huge buff for him. I'm really excited to see what can be done with those bottles.
Gideon looks much brighter now. Which I feel is a buff for both sides.
I think they handled the Undying change fantastically. I don't think it's nerfed at all. Arguably it's a buff.
All the survivor perks they buffed were never used because they were so bad. Except for Open Handed I still think they won't be used. But they feel less bad at least.

Yeah. Some killers just want to chase and ignore the gens. Some survivors want the 60-second DS to stay so they can be super aggressive in their gen pushing. We all said that when Ruin got nerfed and Hillbilly got nerfed, we were gonna quit. But we didn't, because that would have been entitlement.
No, that's deciding to continue despite being unhappy about a change. Anybody who left was not being entitled. They chose to not continue playing a game that had changed for the worse in their opinion.

I don’t WANT to have my time wasted!!!
I WANT to get into a fresh match!!!
Taking a crap, or making sandwich doesn’t fulfill my want to just have it over with and find a fresh match.
And going on a tirade about it will not change anything. If you just needed to vent I get that. If you expect an actual solution then you're out of luck. There are too many ######### on both sides for that. The only thing you can do is adjust your expectations to reality. I can guarantee you'll live longer if you don't stress yourself over video games.
-
Uh Billy was probably the least complained about killer before his nerf. And he was A tier. So no they don't mind facing strong killers.

I know that, didn't took long enough to figure it out. That doesn't prevent it from being an abuse of the system.
Body blocking a killer carrying a survivor is not an abuse of the system. There's literally a trophy for taking body blocking hits.
As for the original question, it can work depending on the killer/survivor skill.
-
Watching streamers can help. They can give you alot of useful information. People like Oh Tofu and Puppers are generally happy to answer questions and help you when they can.

@danielmaster87 said:
My best guess is that most of the survivor base would stop playing. If that happened, it would just show the widespread entitlement.
It's entitled to stop playing a game if you can no longer play how you want?
-
Both sides are full of #########. Nothing you can do about it other than not let it bother you. If you're done with the game face a corner and go grab something to eat/drink. Grab a bathroom run. Toxic little shits are as bothersome as you let them be.

First this game is not easy for killer at all.The killer has alot against them.(DS,Unbreakable,BT,& Deadhard,Gen speed,SFWs just to name a few)
Though rank does not equal skil(most of the time)l,it tells that you've been playing recently.
If anything Survivor is Easy
Neither side is hard. Extremely frustrating depending on several factors. But it's never hard.

I didn't say "buff killers" meathead. I want survivor to be harder, actually challenging. Sitting on gens is boring, most killers are either an ez win, or a quick loss, and are mostly the former.
By definition if you make survivor harder killer becomes easier. That's how a system with two opposing forces works.
-
Killer has never been easier. You complain survivors don't want a challenge. How much easier do they need to make killer?
-
Since I don't use them I'd say I'm not at all dependent on them.

I thought of that, but if that's the case, then why it doesn't see any play to other killers with fatigue (legion, deathslinger, ect).
It helps on Nurse to keep track of survivors after blinking. It's not used on Legion because it doesn't change the narrow vision they get while fatigued.
-
Just run Detective's Hunch.

But here's the thing. Survivors don't need perks. Killers do. And if you think Survivors need perks to escape, you're sadly mistaken lol
Uh killers don't need perks to win bud. Nor do survivors. They make it easier, but aren't needed.
-
They needed a nerf. Not a complete gutting.
-
Just bring Detective's Hunch. Easy enough. Unless you're on an indoor map totems aren't that hard to find.

It's a hold over from og Legion. You used to be able to use FF at 25% charge, and Frank's Mix Tape was base. Basic Attacks used to deplete your power entirely.
I know how Legion used to work. It was a miserable time. But as usual they over nerfed them.
-
My main beef with Legion is losing part of your FF bar is you land a basic attack. Like #########? Why am I losing the ability to use my power if I land a normal hit?
-
As stated above Tofu has a great guide. It's outdated but there's still solid advice. Personally I find steering addons very helpful. But ultimately it will just take lots of practice.
-
Or just stop looping around a hooked survivor period.
-
My understanding is they don't do this in part because they think it will overwhelm new players. Which makes no sense to me. But also because they like to change values behind the scenes to test perks for a better balance.
-
So bring Detective's Hunch? It's easy points.
-
@Hardkill said:
God forbid survivors take off a couple of crutches. It's just easier to whine until something is nerfed instead of sacrificing a second chance perk or two in order to completely counter it.
Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer is actually a pretty trash build - and less killers would run it if a majority of survivors didn't insist on crutching on their DS, UB and exhaustion perks.
But hey - they've run the same builds for 4 years...but it's killer builds that are boring when they use a build that's barely 3 months old. Makes sense.
So you're calling survivors out about their crutches while they complain about killers crutches? Like really? Maybe everyone should just play the game and stop bitching about the other sides perks.
-
Open handed is fine I'd say. Granted it would be nice if it had a minor secondary effect. Up The Ante is straight trash though.
-
@Blueberry said:
The more reasonable change would have been requiring all survivors to be hooked once before they could be used.
Requiring 2 hooks means they are now just useless offerings filling up the blood web.
This was exactly what I suggested before for the Ebony Mori's.

It's because they refuse to fix the real problems with the game after almost 5 years now, They collect feedback and then ignore the players that are the most dedicated and understand what the game really needs, I agree that some people shouldn't demand refunds that's taking it a bit too far but as far as the backlash from this chapter it's been a while coming with the way everything has been , the mobile version has more to offer than the paid game and it's free, also this game is essentially just moving and pushing a button interaction, look at gta and how much smoother it is online with a million other interactions available and this game almost explodes with the few it has to deal with , I love this game I've dedicated alot of time to it and it feels like they take our feedback, crumble it up and throw it back in our faces after nearly 5 years of the constant game breaking bugs and balance issues
I don't think it's so much they refuse to things. Rather they can't fix them. The base code of the game is so jank something new will break something completely unrelated. Granted it is still frustrating.
-
Uhh if you're not trolling maybe wait to make a decision on how strong you think they are. If you are trolling, why? What's the point? I haven't played the twins yet. Need to download the update still. But they look damn fun to play as. And that's all that matters to me.
