Hiya, there won't be a hotfix today I'm afraid. The team are still working on additional fixes that will go into the Mid Chapter patch.
So the game will be in a state of near unplayability for consoles until after the limited time event?

I have just started backing out of games if I'm the killer and I'm the only one throwing a cake out.
I get that cakes don't spawn as often for survivors but do you know what I do if I'm a survivor but didn't get a cake? Use BPS.
I have tweaked all my builds to get rid of my "killing" perks (like Blood Warden) as I'm taking my foot off the gas in this event and trying to get everyone some wonderful points but if you're not going to do your part and make it worth my while, I can kill 20 seconds waiting for a new game and you can play Lobby Simulator again. I'll find (at least) one other survivor in another match quickly enough who is using a cake for everyone.
It sucks that there are killers who are specifically going out of their way to ruin the event (not just playing normal, which I feel is absolutely understandable, but maliciously attempting to ruin the event for people) but unfortunately that's kind of the gamble you have to take in a multiplayer game. You can hold onto your cakes but I feel like you're running the same exact risk later (as we hear plenty of stories about people using BPS/Cakes outside of events and killers being jerks about it). Ultimately it is your call but you'll lose out on a "nice" killer during the event if no one is using their damn cakes.
The spawn rate is so atrocious and it eats up all the bp I do get just trying to get through a single web.
Had no issues last year using my cakes, this year they are just so damned sparse.

Hes running a meme build. I love it when survivors theyre awesome fir nuking a meme build 😂
Don't care. He got the appropriate amount of points for not bringing a cake.

It isn't as good as some content creators make it out to be.

I’d Imagine its 64,000* 5.25 but I’m not 100% sure how the system tallies it all up. 336k?
Each multiplier is separate and this includes stacks from wglf and bbq. 8k from each category*5.25 plus the additional 32k from bbq or wglf is 242k.
correct me if I’m wrong please.

You can pretty much use ruin undying and that hits the cake for most annoying.

Blame the rise in toxic survivors for the spike in toxic killers. I, as well as many others who have commented or made posts on the forum, tried to play fair, tried to 2 hook everyone even if it meant no sacrifices. The amount of t-bagging and clicky clicky flashlights and even the occasional sabo squad stopping me from getting hooks, playing 3 purple offerings to extend the distance between hooks whilst I gave them cake.
This wore me down, as well as less than 5 minutes game time before the final gen gets finished, with exception to the sabo squads whose sole intentions were to make my games as miserable as possible.
I turned from a chill killer into a give no craps killer, even running noed which I have not run in a long time due to not liking the perk. This is solely because of game after game of toxic survivors.
I've had way more toxic killers with survivor puddings, sweating out of their seats, bm'ing and being extremely toxic post game. Inspired me to only use bound envelopes. I wish there was a survivor offering for 100% for my entire team rather than bps for these kinds of people.
-
I've had slight sensitivity in my hearing so I've been taking more breaks and just looking at the forums.

Blight actually has a very cool game mechanic, and has decent interaction in chase. However, I hate going against this killer because literally every Blight uses the same build.
Ruin + Undying + Tinkerer + BBQ/Devour rinse and repeat on every Blight. No other killer has such predictable perks when you load into a game with them. I get that against SWF it’s fair game, but against solo survivors, this is literally DBD on easy mode. Especially when you factor in Blight’s absurd recharge rates with his add ons, it leaves very little room for error, and using this combo turns him from a fairly challenging killer to use, to one of the easiest in the game. It just makes facing blight really dull, as you know exactly what you’re getting into.
I can’t be the only one who despises going against Blight for the aforementioned reasons.
Definitely makes me groan when I see this build. Best part is when its clear the perks are carrying them. What's even more embarrassing is when you keep ruin up for about 6 hooks and then destroy it and their gameplay just falls apart. It's not as bad since undying's nerf however.
-
Nurse's kit is designed to be difficult so having a lower kill rate for majority of people playing her is an expected outcome, I imagine with those stats they break them down even farther to see how the top nurse player performs and since she hasn't been buffed I assume the kit designed to be difficult to use is performing just fine when the player is good.

I've been getting plenty of BP on survivor just playing normally with WGLF and whatever BP offerings are used. Are people really that bad at survivor they can't get 20k+ in most games?
Or they consistently are matched against killers playing in esports mode or camping them cause they have the crown glow.
-
I care about escaping because that's how I can max out my points in survival category. When I don't escape I run the risk of not getting enough bp to make up for the match if I brought in an item/offering/addons.,
-
Tbh it really depends on the amount of vram you have rather than regular ram.
-
@Purgatorian said:
Explain why survivors can get adept achievements by just escaping when the killer has to 2 pip. Let killers at least get the crowns easier lol.
Ah yes the achievements which are not time locked to only be achievable in a two week time period.

Killer usually dodges when they see I have 3600 hours. Like chill dude I’m not that good.

I wonder if the scale out events cause any connection issues, when exactly a player is placed under an EC2 instance, and if they separate match and Loadout related connections.
Just look up gamelift to see what they have to work with.

It's called making distance, and killers are mad that it works well against them.
So many chase oppressive killers have encouraged this. Along with people complaining on the forums has made it more known by more survivors ironically.

Or maybe just wait 10 seconds to let it close?

i've kinda just switched games for the moment cause of the sweaty killers and bad teammates that seemed truly exceptionally high after the update. Whole lot more fun on other games so far, maybe I will go back after the rank reset so I'm not matched with sweatlords.
-
Certainly hasn't made it any better I would bet.
-
I had this nemesis chase me for 2 gens with ruin undying and then literally just camped me the entire time hitting me on the hook. No attempting to find other people just proxies which I really didn’t understand. Like he is a solid killer and I haven’t had major issues while playing him so idk why this person was particularly toxic towards me on the hook especially with a meta build.

It’s really only annoying paired with ruin

No it doesn't?
Look, stunning the killer for ten seconds is a horrible idea.
Ds is fine the way it is right now, but even if you wanted to buff it, there are so many better ways.
The survivor is locked in an animation falling off of the shoulder and that’s part of the 5 second timer so they can’t even start moving until 3.5-4 seconds are left.

Just something that attracts zombies. Maybe let them spawn there, once a zombie dies. Giving Nemesis more control of his secondary power.
Yesterday i played a few matches on the swamp and most of the time, the zombies were patrolling the borders of the map. Totally useless.
As long as zombies are changed to ignore the hooked survivor that sounds like an interesting idea.
-
It’s part of the design for ranged killers, don’t know why people are so surprised. It’s not even that noticeable unless you are specifically keeping an eye out for it.

I think this question is best asked in these forums. Assymetrical multiplayer is a tough genre to nail in the world of game design, and it's nigh impossible to satisfy everyone. But, as DbD is the current best in the genre and since we're all dedicated players, what are some dos and don't a game of its like should have? (One or two of each will do.)
Don’t balance based on what people post on the forums since 99% of the time they are incorrect or just biased. Same with streamers.
-
Mori’s did not create challenge for higher skilled survivors, all they did before their nerf was make the match easier for the killer. Also mori’s were used by the killer to ruin the survivors gameplay experience.

Sorry but this is either wishful thinking, bias or naivety.
The only players I’ve seen disconnect have crashed, and how do I know this? They lose connection and are as of right now almost all console players. When they crash it takes the last input they made and continues it until it confirms they dropped from the game. This would be like a guy running into a wall and just sliding along it.
-
The only players who have been disconnected have crashed. No intentionally disconnects

I mean, this is exactly what a Spirit-player is doing...
But yeah, people should not DC. But they will do that, so I dont bother that much anymore.
My friend and I were queued up one night and ran into 4 freddy’s pre nerf. On the 4th one he just disconnected and quit playing the rest of the night.

Consoles got shafted by the performance decreases and it came to head this update. Not like it was any surprise since FPS and performance has taken a consistent dip every update with reworked maps and new content. I have a 3060ti with an i9-9900k and still have issues so I can’t imagine how bad it’s been. They really really need to work on optimization since it’s abysmal

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2301144#Comment_2301144
Why not? would be a better question.
Op asked what DbD’s excuse for not having crossplay chat was. Different games have different priorities on what features they implement. So please read that more carefully next time.
-
It’s a different game?
-
It’s still an almost insta break totem for me. Killer gets free regression from literally existing with it up and most play it with undying and/or tinkerer which makes it even more boring.
-
Who really cares about that? People play in swf to have fun with friends, the fun you have in solo queue is almost nil. Pointless post.
-
Honestly making WGLF easier to get tokens would be good enough for me.

Explain to me what a killer should do against a team of survivors that holds W and immediately drops every pallet? I can abandon chase and find another, and then that one does it? Then 3 gens pop before i land a single hit. There is no counterplay for like 75% of the killers on the roster.
Gens take 80 seconds to complete, if survivors just hold w, and don't even drop pallets, it takes 48 seconds for the killer to down the survivor.
Don’t distract from the point of my post which only highlighted the point I wished to discuss, which was “see this is happening to me now so it’s a problem” and I pointed out you are not the only killer playing the game so using your experience to say that the argument of not every team does it is a wrong argument is an incorrect assertion. At no point did I bring up there being counterplay to that because that wasn’t the point I was making.
-
"The long standing (and wrong) argument of "it's not every team that does this so you can't fix it" is no longer the case anymore and it needs to be fixed."
It's still the case when you only look at your games and what happened during them. DBD has millions of games happen every week if not every day, and you aren't the only killer playing the game. All I see this post as is you are going against more teams playing in a way you attribute to the Oracle vs Tru3 video.

You can get banned for abusing the reporting services which would include making false reports consistently.

Thanks it’s just the recovery part that’s miserable, lots of numbness and no solids. Turns out it is very disorientating to not feel half of your face at all. But yeah I’m just sad I can’t eat anything good. (I’ve had so many milkshakes I’m going to go insane).

I’m glad for people it seems like pride month is going great. I’m straight so it doesn’t really affect me which is why I’m glad people are having a good time as much as they are able to. Just sucks cause i had surgery and have been miserable.

Survivor helping the killer, and the killer clearly see's it and decides to kill the other 3 survivors and let the greifing one escape. Definitely earned a report with video evidence of them being a shitter like that.

That only shows that most survivors are bad.
Just like if majority of survivors escaped it isn't a skill problem for killers, but issues with anything else other than that players skill.

Some of us just wants everyone to get along and have fun with a game we like to play, posts like these discourages that and you are just adding to the flame.
Literally every post of his is the same iteration just framed in a different way.

The names actually helps me to identify possible SWFs and prepare for it, since some SWF squads name themselves similarly. It's not on every match, but it happens, so it needs to stay. It can also help you to recognize players you've played against before and adapt to their playstile and perks. The killer might also want to dodge someone he doesn't want to play against again, and honestly I think that's valid.
The survivor doesn't get that option against a killer. That makes it inherently unfair especially when there are players who intentionally go out of their way with a list of names to play matches to ruin it for that player. It's an archaic design choice and needs to change.

You have no clue how many times my female friends have been sent a message before the match from the killer saying that they'll spare them. It drives me mad.
Yeah I just think blocking the names similar to a streamer mode will only benefit everyone in general. Players don't have to worry about people targeting them specifically since they cannot track names. Just really no good reason to not do this.
-
Well if anything I'd like the killers to just not see the names of the players. It really only helps those players who want to preemptively harass other players.
