Yeah, everyone loves having to circle a fence 10 times to catch up to a survivor.
Or trying to run away from a killer and see a 10 mile long hedge.

Its definitely one of his flaws his other 2 major faults being not able to collide with certain objects like cars and some trees, and the last being his insanely low fov that seems very out of place
You forgot his incredibly iffy lunge that sometimes hits, sometimes doesn't.

Undying shouldn't have infinite uses. A cleansed hex should be revived only once
Ummm... whut? There are only 5 totems. If a player is hexed, soul guard can be used infinite times. (Obviously unlikely being slugged more times than there are totems but still...)
Soul guard synergizing with Unbreakable is gross in my opinion. It's way overkill with what survivors already have.

It doesn't look like a bug, more like a QoL to his power. You need to be at least 3/2 meters from strutuctures.
That's terrible and makes him even more handicapped than he is if so. Not being able to jump into a chase in a narrow corridor or because I am hugging a wall is bad. Someone tell me this is a bug and not intentional please.
-
He feels like he was made as a delivery system for Hex: Undying.
"Well I got that perk unlocked. Never gonna play him again".
-
That and his lunge needs SOME sort of turning freedom. Currently you can just briskly walk to his side and not get hit. Also, the new tiny lunge they put on him coming out of a dash makes you run right past a survivor and miss if you are too close. He is somehow worse from the PTB.

So what I am hearing is, it should be base kit from the start.

I mean... the joke isn't that funny and not very appropriate, really. You know what I mean, it isn't about driving, it's about rights to franchise and characters. The Creeper is a neat character, guy who owns him is nowhere near "neat" - even quite the opposite.
And if we take your question seriously - original Freddy didn't... steal, I guess? other than that he was a very brutal murderer since his teen years, starting with animals and his stepfather, finishing with his own wife and many-many little girls from Springwood. Remake Freddy is just a sadistic pedo who god knows why was chosen by the Dream Demons... yeah, that's stupid.
Can someone put this wet blanket in the dryer please?

I'd like to know as well. I'm sick of getting hit through windows and pallets because of the killers bad connection,
I'm sick of NOT hitting survivors because of their bad connection.
-
And if you accuse them of it after, they all say "Nah solo" but their profiles are private. They get off on it.
-
I would also add that the physics seem a bit off so it's hard to gauge it's range and targeting. The force required to project a stream like that wouldn't be that slow either.
-
I hated going against Billy when I did survivor things so no he is not fun to play against.

I'm looking for some words of encouragement DBD friends. My experience with the event today has left me feeling absolutely deflated when it comes to this game. I'm a red rank survivor just trying to get the crowns like everybody else. I'm burning all my bloody party streamers since the cake offering is still bugged, just trying to have a good time. I have yet to acquire a single crown, and my games have been nothing short of abysmal all day long. It's been nothing but tunneling for 3 straight hooks, camping nonstop until you die, etc. Clowns have been walking circles around hooks, throwing gas down the entire time. Why have the killers been so unwilling to just have a good time today? Has anybody else had an experience similar to mine today? This is all on top of the anniversary event that I would call lackluster at best. Overall I'm feeling pretty down about DBD at the moment, and almost don't even want to play anymore. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
I will tell you why. The game has been non-stop SWF all day and killers get fed up with it so EVERYONE gets punished. It sucks on both sides. Play the game or don't. Thems the options.

How dare people play online games with friends while performing the most basic social interaction of all, which is having a conversation.
For some reason, every time someone admits to using comms in this game they are perfect angels who NEVER discuss whatever is happening and instead talk calmly about their day or the weather. With so many good samaritans, it must all be in killer player's heads that people have an advantage. I wonder what all those twitch streamers are doing right now...
-
The argument against this is ALWAYS "You think there is toxicity now..." and for good reason but yes... mute the scumbags. I think one of the best features of F13 was prox chat. You could do funny voice, banter with people, and it made for a WAY more fun atmosphere.
-
This is why we can't have nice things...
-
I don't set out to farm myself at the start as a killer. It's either the survivors basically refuse to play and I'm like "Fiiiine" or I am doing a daily and I realize they are not the most skilled and I wreck like two players so I decide to go easy on the others since I got what I came for.

Can you make the perk really balanced?
It is so simple that, if at the end of the game if you are exhausted, it does not give you the speed increase, but the heal does, easy?
and if you don't have exhaustion at the end that all five generators were repaired, you get both effects
Its so simple.
Also, if you are on the hook when it procs, you don't get a full heal off the hook. That's some BS right there. You shouldn't be rewarded for being caught. It should be a gamble, not a guarantee. NOED, while being disliked, is a gamble. It might not work at the end if your team is diligent. Adrenaline should be the same way. It will work so long as you don't get caught.

"once all Generators are completed, the Obsession has the Exposed Status Effect and the Killer can kill the Obsession"
That's the wording on Rancor - therefore unless all 5 generators have been completed Rancor won't give you the 1 hit down and the mori - you still get benefit from it during the game though as you see the survivors aura's after each completed generator.
Actually you don't see their auras (which would be real nice). You see a human bubble notification where they were at that exact second. It's more like Infectious Fright. Bitter Murmur shows you auras.

Either none of you have watched @SpaceCoconut before or you are all a bunch of untrusting internet denizens. He doesn't just post that stuff without good reason. While his views are not everyone's, he doesn't just use "an 8 second clip" to skew a point in his favor. (Also, I am not being a fanboy, I would defend anyone in the situation because a lot of you are awful to each other on here constantly and it's maddening.)

Fun of chases? Earn more points? Give everyone a fun time? Learn how to track and chase survivors better?
I dont know how people enjoy just sitting around hooks all game. It’s not very interactive.
"Give everyone a fun time" Have you MET people? Most people, especially those who play video games online, don't give a damn about your fun, only theirs.
Other reasons:
- Some killers only consider kills as a win so if they secure a kill, they feel accomplished. (it also makes the game WAY easier)
- They have been bullied by other players and are like "Screw everything that even looks like a survivor"
- They bad
-
Killers don't get anywhere NEAR the same info survivors do. We get a DS icon AFTER we been hit with it which isn't really necessary and we get a horsie for Boil over... that's about it. There are status effects we should get when certain perks are in play. Why not give us a motorcycle icon when breakout is being used? It's affecting the killer like our perks affect survivors so it only seems fair right?
There is far too much hand holding in this game for survivors. For new players I totally get it too. It's good for NEW players. Past a certain rank, hours played or whatever, those icons should go away and we should HAVE to play using our senses and awareness... you know.. some skill.
Currently it's getting out of hand. Hell, I'm pretty sure I have seen an icon telling me my credit score and blood pressure pop up before.

It's toxic.
You could just say "well played/wp" instead because it's better on both sides to say that. The only time it's okay to say "gg" is if the losing party believes it was a gg and says so first. You come off as cocky and scummy when you say it after a huge victory, especially if the game only lasted like 5 minutes. Let's not feed into toxic behavior, even at this level guys. Start from the bottom and work our way up.
I don't think it's toxic but damn does it feel sarcastic. A bunch of tryhard SWF come in to bully and teabag and say GG at the end just feels like taunting. A lot of times they say it to get the killer more tilted I feel and say some ######### in the chatroom to amuse them and feel even better about their BS behaviour. I keep the chat window open and only engage if I feel the game was an even match and everyone did well. Other times I just keep it closed and move on. I really don't care what people think about the way I decide to play a game I paid for.

He's too tall, and slow, and with limited range on power. The moment i see him, i'll just run in straight line and he'll never catch up or hit you.
Yah the tall thing takes getting used to. I have fired over peoples heads a lot because of where I THINK the center of the screen is when quick shot-ting. I think they designed him for use in his own map, which he does ok as it's fairly open but other maps... are more challenging.
-
It's not so bad when you are in the load out screen but in the lobby it's WAY more pronounced and repetitive. I think just a bit more delay in the animation and noises would make it tolerable for others (And turn it down in the game lobby). I think Petey-George-Wilson-Carrie N. is cute and should stay.
-
On his own map, he is real fun to play. Anywhere else? Not feeling it. Everything the people on PTB said is spot on tho'. Little to no map pressure. Lawd help him on red forest maps.
-
I had a SWF who teabagged like mad at the end. In my head I was like "Yeah good job. You beat the guy playing the new killer for the 3rd time and have very few good perks. Go you. Your parents must be real proud." Been variations of it all day.
-
I'm curious how map RNG works. Does it take into consideration the last map any/all the players just had last game? It seems about as random as my iphone music shuffle currently (that is to say, not at all).

@SkeletalElite said:
No addons affect the amount of time required to blind the killer, only the duration for which the killer is blinded. Lights take 1 second to blind across the board.
That's my point. It's faster than 1 second with dedicated servers. Even if the answer is "latency", that's crap.
-
Instead of speculating, I wonder if someone who works there can clarify. It would be nice to know.

@Fibijean said:
It's not saying that you found 2 survivors, any more than that you won 40 chases (which, while technically possible, is incredibly unlikely). That's just a reference to the number of points you gained for finding survivors. The way it's displayed is very confusing and unhelpful, so I wouldn't pay a whole lot of attention to it if you're trying to figure out what you did wrong.
That still doesn't make sense. Assuming it's 1-2 points for finding a survivor it should still be more than 2. (unless we are dabbling in fractions now)

Well because if the survivor is doing it during the stun as i said most of the time doesn't matter.
The blind only really matters when done during the break animation.
The point is it's too damn fast, regardless of the animation.

The only reason there is no competition is because Friday The 13th can't add any content to the game. But even in its current form FT13 is a better game in the fact that Neither side is OP.
Sure you only face off against Jason, but which form & from which movie?
Another thing that gives it a win is the in game chat. When in a certain distance of others they can hear you, but so can the killer lol
If FT13 could add more I'm sure there'd be more more playing it.
The other thing with F13 was everyone went in on the "Same" side. No one knew who the killer was gonna be until the game started therefore the wasn't the clear divide a game like this has.
-
@Milo said:
... This was always a thing? The stun is 2 seconds, giving you enough time to blind after stunning. (which tbh, unless it's a unsafe loop, does nothing cause most of the time you would destroy the pallet anyways)
There are flashlight combos that hit you in under a second so even enduring doesn't help. THAT'S a problem.

I think it specifically wants you to heal them through normal means, not through an add-on for example.
It probably doesn't detect the use of the Syringe OR it doesn't count it entirely, since that would be too easy I guess. Keep trying it out with perks like We'll Make It for a hook save and heal, if it still doesn't work than come back and let us know.
I figured as much, (and got it to work the "normal" way), they just need to be a little more specific with their descriptions I think. Like heal one health state "by your hand" or some such. I figured the syringe would work since in the description it actually says "gain one Health State" which was the criteria but I get it. It's just frustrating to go through a lot of trouble to find out you didn't get it. My post was kind of a warning to others and to vent a bit.
-
I used a syringe which heals ONE FULL HEALTH STATE and escaped and nothing. Another game I healed a survivor fully and then the killer quit and on the screen it said ESCAPED and nada. It's either bugged or it wants some VERY specific criteria met. @Peanits any idea?
-
Every time someone brings up proximity comms for this game, it becomes a whole "You think people are toxic now!" kinda stuff. F13 had prox chat and for the most part, everyone was cordial and had a good time. Sure you had ######### on there but guess what? Mute player button saves the day!
You had people role playing, doing voices, etc and it was actually really fun. I know DBD is NOT F13 but it's also not CS either. The fact that SWF was implemented into a game not designed for it and never balanced with the mindset of "Gee maybe they will use comms" from the get go is just tone deaf as hell to me.
-
I posted this elsewhere and yes. Especially if you play solo and don't have "ALL TEH PERKS!" unlocked. (I play killer and only started playing survivor for rift stuff) Many of the survivor challenges would FLY by if I was in a SWF group but I don't play that way. Thus, like many things in this game, the solo/SWF gap is apparent in these challenges. It took me HOURS to get certain ones done (I'm looking at you emblems). I almost uninstalled it was so frustrating. The last tome, I actually really enjoyed the survivor challenges and thought they were a nice break from playing killer. This time around, it was the opposite.
There is challenging and then there is just frustrating and pointless.
-
So if gate regression in any form is because of SWF vs solo (a balance issue created by the developers a LOOOONG time ago as we all know) then why not buff solo UP to SWF in a case like this? Gates regress in some form, SWF gets the full effect, solo gets a speed boost to compensate?
Personally, after the first gate is opened, I would like a notification (or aura color change etc) when the second gate is opened so I know not to waste my time in one way or another. SWF can communicate if both are opened/ being opened. Let's give the killer a little more info as well. Survivors already get a TON of info handed to them. I'd like to see killer's get a tad more in a situation like this.
Heck, how about Tinkerer being able to see gate auras intensity? It's a seldom used perk as is, but if you wanted to run it to know what gate is at what percent, it would make that a good "end game perk" then yeah?
-
I dunno what to tell you. I just had a match where we had an AFK killer. I won all my chases and we did did gens and I STILL couldn't get it. I have no idea what this game wants but in 3 hours, I haven't been able to get it. (The one time I DID manage it, I was doing a different challenge so FML right?)
-
It's been my screen name FOREVER (it's also my performing website url)
-
I agree. I did the 6 EGC hooks last night and it took forever and forced me to play in a way that was MORE frustrating. Ex: I needed only two more hooks. I could have killed the last two people very easily and ended the match but I let them heal each other and get gens done which is more points for them (but not farm. I just made it difficult for them).
When they finally did the last gen, I knocked them both down, opened the gate and of COURSE someone had unbreakable and slipped out the hatch. It felt like I wasted not just my time, but theirs for that one hook. (I'm saying it so no one else has to by the way.)
But I hear other people cry "Just play the game normally and it will happen eventually" or "Do the other challenges and come back to that one". You are correct but that's not how everyone's brain is wired. It's just frustrating (by the way frustration does not = challenging).
Regardless, it's just the way it goes, but some of us don't like it.
-
Quite frankly, on dedicated servers, they are a little broken currently. It's not longer a gradual fade up to the blind. It's fade, fade up, INSTANTLY BLINDED! The timing is all sorts of wonky now. Also, like most things that started a defensive item, have become a bully tool but hey, welcome to the internet.
-
I think the only thing I was disappointed with was when you fix the gen on the gallows, the guy hanging didn't drop through the floor. Other than that, the map is on point.
