  • Take the good with the bad mate. I had a garbage first match as Huntress, one I hadn't used before & almost quit. But after a couple of yeet matches as survivor I went my main man Doc got 1 in the first then moried all 4 the next one. Don't get caught chasing the same one because they'll gen rush & it's over.

On two, I experience the other way. If I would now queue up as Killer (Rank 1), I would have at least 5 minutes queue time, but instant Surivor Lobby. If I play this evening, I would get instant Queue Times and Survivor Lobbies of 3 minutes+ (also Rank 1).

My killer queue times are 5 mind at least.

    I'm only a lvl17 so I don't understand why the lengthy wait.

  • Thanks everyone. I will get a bit tunnel vision but if I see a survivor & I can keep chasing knowing I will eventually catch them I will, if not I resume gen patrol. But with SWF it's so much easier. They try to suck you into going one way & I now go the opposite.

I'm reasonably confident I don't tunnel as you have all described :)

on 2, you have a different experience then I or my friiends do then, around rank 7 to 1 in europe, killer queues take quite long.

I was 17 & 3 pips just lost a pip because I got stuck in place & couldn't move except for turning & swinging burner. Might be AU servers I guess only the debs can tell me definitively I suppose.

This game is pro killer. Every time you people winge the dev's run over to lick your wounds like you're a litter of new born puppies.

lmao dude I've had plenty of matches where I haven't sent a survivor skywards. It's all down to strategy of survivors & playstyle of killer.

You lot that sook saying it's all survivor favoured or its all killer favoured are obviously grasping for excuses rather than admit you had a bad match or need to improve.

  • Lol how good is it when you get a clean sweep?

I main Doc & it's not often I don't get 2 or 3. I've had a few 4K's though & it feels great especially when you know they're SWF & you don't play thier game & still hook em all.

    Well done mate \m/

PS. Screenshot is from awhile ago when I only had 2 perks unlocked.

  • Dude I lost the damn thing after dying si I can hardly look at the bloody thing can I? I certainly don't want my freakin hand held just some bloody information, sheesh

It tells you what they do in the loadout screen.

That's assuming you have it in the 1st place. I picked it out of a chest.

  • Same as the map, I've had it once & had to wing it. Still not 100% on the how to lol

  • If I come up against SWF's & pick up on it early enough, he'll yes I'll camp the crap outta them until they die.

I had this problem the other night, trying to learn a new Killer & what do you know I'm running round like a headless chook to what end? Nada but a few blood points.

Survivors only have themselves to blame really. I've been on the receiving end & yes it's damn frustrating but it is what it is.

  • I've really had no problem being Killer, apart from when I was a total noon. Then I got my 1st 4K with the Doctor & it's been a breeze since.

The only time I've suffered was the other night when I was Plague. Had 4 teamed up & I didn't get 1 sacrifice. Not the ideal match to learn a new Killer.

So when survivors sook about camping killers, you've brought it on yourselves.

No, survivors have keys, killers have Mori both are not fun however they are part of the game so use them.

    Did you Mori them all?

No only the last survivor, I hooked 1 not long beforehand & got the sacrifice.

None of the killers are really OP - you could make an argument for one of two of them (not Ghost Face) being too powerful, perhaps, but mostly it comes down to knowing how to counter them. That's why killers tend to have higher kill rates at lower ranks, not because they're really powerful but just because new survivors don't know how to counter them properly.

As for perk choice, it doesn't matter which survivor you're playing as far as your build goes because the only difference between the survivors is their appearance and their voice. If the only reason you're interested in buying DLC is for perks, and you're happy enough with what you've already got, I would advise you to save up shards and buy DLC perks from the Shrine of Secrets instead.

For me any killer that can do a 1 hit down is OP. If all killers can do it then fair enough but once a killer is able to do more damage because of a passive or active ability that makes them OP in my mind.

@NecroGoatLord There is one thing I would have you know regarding DLC acquisition in Dead by Daylight. For the older chapters, unique outfits are available only for those who buy the chapter. So, if you want the casual Feng, or Tuxedo Ace set you'll need to purchase their respective chapters. This being said, the "Spark of Madness" chapter is the only chapter I can recall having truly special cosmetics for both killer and survivor. After the Clown's release the special cosmetics have all been recolored existing items not worth the attention.

Cosmetics don't matter all that much to me, it's not like they improve the characters utility. That said I did equip the shocking skin & weapon for Doc.

  • I think it's more a point of I really need to learn the advanced things like what perks to use with which survivors, items, offerings etc... same with the Killer's, I've got 2 Moris for Doctor but figure I don't struggle with him, usually 2 sacrifices a match which I'm happy with, so why use a Mori?

I went against a Ghostface yesterday who downed me with 1 hit, hooked me, I got rescued got about 10 meters from the hook before he downed me again with 1 hit then Mori'd me. I can see Ghostface isn't OP at all hahaha

  • Cheers mate.

  • Still has a player base but not as big as it could've been.

You have to remember this game is all about business. And currently there is no competition in asymmetrical genre so they can keep the quality as low as they like.

Take internet providers as an example in USA, majority have only access to one provider so quality is as low as they dare to serve. While in EU most countries have multiple internet providers that compete with one another so the quality is good and prices are low.

I'm sure there are multiple devs in DbD that would love to make game good, but higher ups only look at the money graphs and thats the only thing that matters.

The only reason there is no competition is because Friday The 13th can't add any content to the game. But even in its current form FT13 is a better game in the fact that Neither side is OP.

Sure you only face off against Jason, but which form & from which movie?

Another thing that gives it a win is the in game chat. When in a certain distance of others they can hear you, but so can the killer lol

If FT13 could add more I'm sure there'd be more more playing it.

If you don't know whether you're botting or not, then as far as that rule is concerned, you're not. The rule refers specifically to external programs that players previously used to play the game for them. Typically, people would use it to farm XP as killer - the bot would just stand in one spot and occasionally turn around or swing so that they didn't get flagged for being AFK. I believe most bots were also programmed to automatically requeue for new games, so you could just turn your botting software on, leave the game running and come back later for the rewards. I think it's still possible, but it seems to have generally fallen out of use.

    Coolio, thanks mate.

I offered you guidance, just learn to play against ALL killers. Stop giving up immediately if you feel something is difficult. You admit you’re new and I can tell you GF and ONI are not the strongest killers, if you think they’re OP wait til you see a good billy, nurse, spirit, Doctor, huntres...

Lukcily by killing yourself instantly you’ll keep you’re self from ever having to go against good players. I guess that’s good for you, probably the type of person that played sports games on rookie difficulty so he can blow out the other team and feel good

I was going to let that go through to the keeper, but I can't.

Mate I'm not afraid of a challenge when it comes to a game & as my Mrs will attest to actually play pro on Madden & Ashes Cricket. I hate wholloping the opposition but when it get to the point of near impossible & you're not having fun it's kinda pointless to continue.

To address the "suicides" go, I don't "suicide" every time against ONI or GF or if i'm finding it a struggle. I play the game as expected. I go for geni's, totems (not sure if they help all or just give me BP's), Sabotage hooks & if they're close by I unhook survivors. Hell I'll go in when the killer is close by & take a hit for them.

But if I'm at the final struggle & (if i can see thier auras) i notice not 1 of the other survivors are making thier way to me then what am I supposed to do? Wear my a button out? You might be able to afford a new controller every 6 months but I can't.

As far as your "advice" goes "Get good against all killers" doesn't advise me of very much apart from the fact you like to fancy yourself as an expert at the game & maybe you have spent hours in game which means you should be able to offer more specific advice such as what survivors to use, what perk, what item, what to do in a chase with Oni or GF. Instead you talk down to me like I'm a piece of s&*/, with what I imagine is a sneer(yeah I met may like you in my 50 years), because I dared to do something the what you must also consider to be "your game" you could never do nor have ever done & that I must be exorcised from it.

Well sorry kiddo, not gonna happen. As I said the other night, if the Devs think I'm doing something wrong & let me know, or the game becomes so bug ridden it's unplayable (doubt it will happen) then I'll be here for awhile.

BTW I hope you're on Xbox because I would love the challenge of throwing you on the hook & you eventually die. & no I'm not one to stand in front of you but I'm not gonna make it easy to Unhook you either.

  • Then I guess we're all bots when learning a new game lol

Thanks for answering my question mate. Just wanted to make sure I was in the clear on the no botting rule.

  • Gotta give ya props for the thought you've put into the idea & it could work as a light hearted event of some sort.

But I reckon they should bring in some real life serial killers, controversial I know, but the true monsters walk among us. Why not Ed Gein, the map his farm house with the assorted furnishings made from human skin such as he did? His attack would be pretty ordinary I admit, but some artistic licence could be used to make it more brutal. & being that he was a short man from what I remember reading he could pop up out of nowhere, or out of crawl spaces so when you're within the terror radius, you'd know he's nearby but where? He could be blending in with said furniture & literally scare the bejeezuz out of you as you stand face to face with the psychopath....

Dang you got my brain working now mate haha

  • I've had troubles but put it down to the time of night I've tried matchmaking. Not sure if the servers are dedicated to certain regions but I'm in Australia, also Xbox, & find after midnight it drops off a bit so I just go survivor.

  • Screenshot_2020-03-03-00-47-53.png

Aside from each time i make it out the gate it has to be my first Ace as the killer. It gave me the warm fuzzys or maybe it was residual electricity from playing as The Doctor :p

  • Bahahahaha thanks for the vote of no confidence kiddo.

But seriously people like you who get all elitist because they've been playing the game for a long time & denigrate newbies coz you don't like the playstyle rather than offer some direction in how to deal with said situation really need to get outdoors & catch some sunlight.

Nah I think I'm in for the long haul, hope to see you flopping about on a hook in the near future.

  • Haven't whined at all mate, just stating facts. If you don't like it that's your perogative. Until I'm notified by the devs that I'm doing the wrong thing then I'll continue to do so. BTW I'm a FTP player not one that has spent a truckload on the game & I am relatively new to it. I've made it out more often than not so.......

  • Firstly if I'm against Ghostface or Oni, or the killer is skulking around me waiting yeah I'll hasten the sacrifice & take the loss. Secondly if no survivors look like they're going to get me off the hook, I'll hasten the sacrifice.

Thirdly I'm under no obligation to hang around (no pun intended) in the slim hope I'm going to be rescued, left in the lurch only to be hooked again within 30 secs. I'd rather save myself the pain & take the L.

It may seem like a garbage way to play but hey there's always the next match. As far as I'm aware it's not illegal nor is it technically disconnecting.

As far as GF & Oni, I find them too OP & haven't enjoyed the games I've been in against them. I barely enjoy facing off against Michael.

    Just my 2 cents worth.
