Sliding scale of costs to offerings. People would then be encouraged to actually prestige everyone, but the cost to do so would be drastically reduced.
Right now to P3 every character (including the Trickster and the new survivor) it'd cost ROUGHLY 567,000,000 Blood Points to max everything out. Assuming you earn a perfect 32,000 BP each game with full stacks of WGLF or BBQ + Chili, and someone offers Bloody Party Streamers every game, it'd take you 5907 games or so to max everything out. And that's Best Case Scenario.
Under this new system, it'd instead cost ROUGHLY 312,000,000 BP, a reduction of a little over half. I think it'd be fair, and players would be rewarded for prestiging characters.

Add bloodpoints to empty spaces in the free tier of the rift pass would help too. Not a stupidly low amount like 1k but not too high like 250k per free space either
I think a combination of these ideas would be a wonderful fix, maybe also add BP bonuses to underutilized perks as well?

A good example of a healthy perk imo

True. My definition of strong is a killer that has counterability but can stand a decent chance against a swf.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1992298#Comment_1992298
If he catches you in the open I can picture him being good but he just looks like huntress with extra steps. Just allows more room for error. I predict the way to play him is get close to someone, spam knives to injure them then follow up with a M1.
While I see where you're coming from, you do realize this game isn't only about SWF, right?
Oni, PH, Blight, and Slinger are all very strong in solo q, which is where a lot of the survivor player base is.
-
How many times do we need this thread? Get over it.
-
All the melodramatics are so annoying lol.
Just wait for the next chapter, the game is not catered to only YOUR specific and narrow-minded vision of horror.

I'll say one positive thing about the blood: I DO really like it on his hands, edges of his coat, etc. The visual designers clearly did put a lot of thought into making sure the bloodstains didn't all look identical or generic, either. I just think having that much blood on your chest and face without thinking to wipe it off, especially for such a showboat character, is kinda weird.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1988603#Comment_1988603
I didn't mean to imply that they are. I mean "define his identity as a Killer" in the sense of it being less regular-guy looking, BY playing into the idea of him being a popstar.
If you love his design, that's totally cool. And hey, he'll certainly have lots of skins, and some of them are bound to land for me. I actually don't even necessarily want to take away his current VERY unique yellow-pink-black colour scheme, if anything I just want the rest of his body to reflect it more.
I think the reason the blood is still on a showboat character is because the fog grabbed him after he hack and slashed up the entire board of his record company, so it was still fresh.
-
I'll copy what I posted in another thread because I really think he deserves every defense he can get: I think the new killer is absolutely fantastic from an art and lore standpoint.
I can totally understand why people wouldn't be into his design, however I think it perfectly encapsulates what they were going for aesthetically (a "trickster", a privileged and charismatic "normal" person who's actually batshit insane, etc).
It's all about deception, which is exactly what you get from this.

It's universally agreed that killers are underpowered and has consistently been repeated by many of the best players over the past 4 years but ok dude. You and your friends struggle with survivor we get it.
Ah yes, extreme platitudes are surely a completely rational and absolutely not biased way of thinking at all! You’re right!
-
Weren’t you just in another thread trashing new killers for not being good enough for “top percentage players”?
Doesn’t sound like you’re playing very top percentage yourself based on this tantrum
-
I really think they were onto something with Pyramid Head for both camping AND hook suicides, and I wish they'd implement mechanics like that to hooks as well.
Yes I know "it wouldn't make sense for a hook to teleport/relocate if the killer stayed too close" blah blah blah - not really interested in the immersion argument, I'm interested in game mechanics that improve the experience.

lmao you guys are dreaming. Winning a few average players in public games does not make those killers viable for the top percentage of players.
Good thing game decisions aren't based solely on the top percentage of players, since a majority of the player base isn't there to begin with.
-
I give myself three bad matches in a row when I start up.
If all 3 of my first matches are bad, I'm done for the day. If any of them are good, I start the cycle over.
Not only does it help me from getting too angry and tilted, it's helped me realize that bad matches aren't as frequent as they feel like they are most of the time.
I think a lot of people could also stand to realize this lol.
-
Nobody “harassed” them into anything.
Quit with the melodramatics. They can make whatever characters they want, and anybody who has a problem with it (not saying you, but in general) can deal with it.
-
This is... one of the worst threads I've seen on this forum lol.
While we're at it, let's nerf Self-Care and Inner Strength. Self-Care can take 180 seconds to heal and IS can only be used once per match and deactivates for the rest of it.
-

A killer that's better than the twins because there has been almost nothing good since blight
...Blight was literally the chapter before the Twins lmao
-
Where are all these people not connecting Victor's hits?
I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but every single Twins I've ever faced has the easiest time connecting his hits to every survivor. He's practically unavoidable in every match I've faced them in.
-
And this is why I advocate for first hook suicides for solo q players :)
This sort of nonsense is almost every single game solo
-
I hadn't even thought of this. But they'd NEED to have a map for something like this.
Can you imagine if they reworked Red Forest with the next chapter, and had a new RF map with the well and other things from the movie in it?
-
I know they've said they're focusing on map reworks, but I really hope they've somehow changed their minds or had a burst of inspiration, and it's a chapter that comes with a map (original or licensed - either is fine by me)
ESPECIALLY if the chapter really is tech-based like the logo and tweet possibly suggest.
-
They also posted this. Maybe some sort of hint at a technological-themed killer or chapter?

How is bbq being used in an annoying way?
I agree the calls for DH nerf are over the top.
As an example, when a killer uses it to run right back to a previous unhook after hooking someone else, and everything just starts to snowball from there.
DH and BBQ are both perks that aren't overpowered, but can be annoying to deal with for both sides in certain situations.
Not saying I personally think it's worth complaining about, it's a smart strategy - just something I've observed complaints over.
-
The same reason killers complain about Dead Hard, for example - because the way players use both is annoying.
But neither need to be "nerfed" as biased mains on both sides claim.

Not against the rules, if they can bully me then I think it is only fair I can bully back. In my 5k hours of this game no one has ever said bleed out was bannable
So you’ve played for 5k hours... and still feel the need to gloat about this?
Do you, I guess.
-
I admire your idealism, and in a perfect world, this would be a lot of fun.
If only it were that easy.
-
Fixated, Iron Will, and Resilience are three I love to run together. Maybe throw in Quick and Quiet as well.
-
Wraith, Spirit, and Huntress crack me up because of how dramatic they are
Ghost Face because it's how I feel myself when I get stunned
-
Also, Ghost Face and Feng
-
It's been the same on the survivor side
Last night I DCed for the first time since I started this game because it's just been a cluster #########
-
Cheryl and Quentin because they both look like little sleepyheads
-
Your feelings were definitely valid, and unfortunately there's no easy or pleasant answer for your particular situation :(
You have a great day too!
-
Most people use baby as an "aww, look at them" term
But of course there will be people who take it too far, as there are for literally everything in this game.

Yeah well that goes into some fastest game recored level RNG. Dowing AND hooking all 4 survivors to the sacrifice stage under 2 minutes. I don't even think I ever saw that happen in my 3k hours or maybe I just don't remember.
At that point it's almost more likely you'll get stuck due to random bugs and be forced to DC anyway.
The fact is it doesn’t matter how likely or unlikely it is. No one should get penalized for it when they did nothing wrong.
-
Well, a lot of survivors are tired of the #########, game-ruining “tactics” killers are using right now.
I fully empathize with any survivor suiciding on first hook, depending on the reasoning.
-
@Kebek said:

What if it the punishment wasn't applied if unhooked ?
That way someone couldn't suicide to evade the DC penalty but people who get into the unlikely spot where death before 2 min mark happens wouldn't be punished unless they decided to hook suicide.
This is going in a better direction, but can still pose unfair problems.
What if your team all gets slugged and you're the first one to be hooked? Nobody's running any perk that allows them to get back up and unhook anyone.
So everyone dies, you die on your first hook, and because you were the one to die within a 2 minute period, you get a penalty?
-
@Kebek said:

Not to intrude but how would it be abused by killers if it was set to 2 min ?
I'm not saying that it's a good idea or anything, I just wonder how does a killer kill someone faster then if they spawned on hook instantly at the start of the match which takes 2 minutes to sacrafice a survivor.
Only other survivors could kill you faster than that if somehow killer found and hooked you under 30s and in the last 90s they somehow managed to unhook you twice in a row which isn't killer's doing but survivor's.
Here's the first example I can think of:
Killer is an insidious Bubba who hooks someone within 30 seconds in a match. Player #2 doesn't realize/see the killer, saves #1 on first hook, both get downed immediately. Killer hooks #1 second time immediately because they're right underneath their hook, leaves #2 slugged so someone will come to heal/save #1 again. And repeat when #3 comes to save - #1 is hooked final time and not even 2 minutes have passed yet.
You can argue how likely vs unlikely this may be, but if the killer wants to tunnel #1 out of the game, they will, and then that player suffers a penalty on top of it? Not a good or healthy idea.
And this doesn't even take into account other survivors getting you killed faster, like you said. Nobody should face a penalty for the actions of others. I went ahead and edited it for clarity though, since it'd be abuseable on both ends.
-
Struggle phase definitely needs to be reworked, but
"Ideally, anyone who dies within the first few minutes of the game would receive the same punishment as someone who disconnects"
This would be beyond abuseable and is just not a productive idea lol
-
P3 Cheryl specifically, with the occasional Cybil or Lisa for fun.
P3 Cheryl just looks so great, and SH is one of my favorite series.
Other survivors I love are Claudette, Jane, and Feng (specifically with the Lavish Protectress head, Grand Bow Corset torso, and the Edgy Leggings)

And, why so mad? You don't have to be hostile. For all you know this could be a kid.
Friend, you’re the only one in this thread really coming off as mad or hostile from the moment you pinned the DC penalty being created on “it was made for killers to camp and tunnel”
Everything you’ve said since has reeked of immature, illogical nonsense lol

So I have a big problem with my anger. When one simple thing doesn't work the match is basically ruined for me and I want to improve that. Any tips to get not so easily tilted, angry or toxic?
This is a great question, and something I struggled with for a while. What helped me were a few different things:
- If you're finding you're taking things too seriously, play with some perks you never use. That way, if things aren't going the way you expect, it's easier to understand why, and you're also gathering experience with perks you might enjoy later down the road
- As an aside to number 1, go completely perkless! Sounds terrible, right? But it's reverse-psychology in a way. When you do great, you can really be proud of your skill without perks. When you die or encounter stupid mistakes, it makes you less angry because you know you're playing with a handicap most people wouldn't do
- Force yourself to laugh at some of the absurdities. Yes, they can be tilting and nonsensical. But the randomness of this game is also part of what we enjoy about it. Forced laughter might make you actually start genuinely laughing at it, and that'll help you release tension in your body from anger

Felix Richter: In my experience, pro Felixes are extremely rare, and not just because of the fact that he's new. His gen-finding perk is built for new players who don't know where the lights should be, and his other perks are extremely general.
Cheryl Mason: Good Cheryls are like what Claudette was actually supposed to be, they play like David but more stealthy and focused on healing. Bad Cheryls read the perk descriptions once and think they know what they should be doing, leaving the obsession immediately after healing them, blocking a gen that the killer is close to, and relying on soul guard for pretty much everything it can be used for.
Elodie: I don't know, she just released.
Agree with this response for Cheryl. I main her and have also played with a lot of Cheryls. Cheryls are mostly very competent players who will do anything needed of them, but most seem to do it for selfish reasons i.e. points, stacks, etc. Mostly focus on altruism, don’t really go out of their way to engage the killer but can hold their own when the killer finds them (most times lol)

I agree with this, actually.
Hell, if they all want to waste half the match baiting DS, be my guest. You'll only screw your team by doing so.
Exactly. The perk perfectly serves its purpose if tunneling actually occurs, and otherwise toxic survivors just waste their own time and accomplish nothing.
-
They need to remove the timer and have it deactivate solely based on doing any progressive interaction. It isn't "anti-tunnel" if it runs out due to slugging or being chased for longer than a minute off hook, and killers who don't tunnel wouldn't have an issue with this.
Other than that, it's a very healthy change.
