I've had PLENTY of slugs just crawl away After I've downed the last team mate. After I've closed hatch instead of staying put and letting me hook them and ending it quickly. But there we are 2 minutes later. I call that greifing, yes.

They owe you nothing. You chose to slug them, which is your right, but let's not act like consequences don't come with that choice lol

  • I've been saying this since they released PH, it would drastically cut down the camping potential if implemented well.

  • Lithe all the way. Plus, it pairs well with Spine Chill and Resilience if you're injured.

I get why SB is the way it is, but I frequently burn it when I don't mean to lol

  • He was bottom of the barrel for so long and now he's actually viable. He's doing just fine.

  • I'd love an Outlast chapter but I can't see it being as hyped as something like RE, SH, etc.

  • If you slug someone and leave them, that can be a consequence. You chose that by slugging and leaving them.

Survivors can't choose to be picked up without certain perks, and even then, there's no benefit to it because they're just going back down immediately.

Both suck for both parties, but one is disproportionately worse than the other.

  • The devs don't want anyone to quit because that would be stupid on their part.

Problems happen for both sides, go outside and get some fresh air.

  • They look better in some ways, and scarier in others lol - like some have mentioned, the waxy/shiny effect.

    Overall a big improvement though.

  • Nothing, he's just annoying. Doesn't make him unfair or unbalanced.

  • Rank 1 as a solo survivor is very difficult as well, for the record.

As a solo survivor, you can be playing completely optimally and progressing to the best of your ability, but if your teammate suicides on a hook, or nobody else but you works on gens, or a multitude of other issues, you won't be ranking up that easily after a certain point.

  • Juke- At the start of the trial, all exit gates are opened and the killer's power is disabled. Each survivor gains 50k bp and two pips.

  • Some of the answers here are solely due to pick rate bias. Obviously Tapp/Jeff/etc are going to be less toxic because you see less of them, while Nea/Claudette/Meg are going to be more because you'll see them way more often.

As objective as possible, I'd say Jake, Kate, Jeff, and Jane are all pretty good-spirited survivors most times. Nea is single-handedly the most toxic survivor imo.

  • She's just a specific play style that some people will love and some will hate. Not really much to be changed.

  • There are a lot of things that reward bad players on both sides, this is nothing new.

Keys will be getting nerfed in the future, don't worry.

  • It's only toxic if you do it toward the beginning of a match for no reason, or leave the last survivor to bleed out just to waste their time

  • Imagine being this scared of DS still after it got nerfed into oblivion lmao

  • @Hoodied said:

wow this hot take is cold, probably cause its gone bad

It was announced already because its RE and RE is more important than some guy who throws knives

Every single take this user posts has gone bad before it’s even submitted, it’s become standard now

ot: RE is my dream chapter and I’m hyped, it’s fine for the game

  • It’s really not that farfetched, especially for a 5th and 35th anniversary for both.

  • Have yall considered that they could do multiple characters, similar to how they did two survivors for Stranger Things?

Maybe Nemesis and the new Vampire woman?

I rarely see "tunneling" in solo queue. Would you agree that this is a fact or just my personal experience?

You can nitpick about the terms people are using, but the truth is a lot of people are facing this problem lately. It's not out of nowhere and just "personal experience" when a lot of people are complaining about it.

  • @ShadowRain said:

They won’t, all they care about is “survivor fun”

Ah yes, what a completely unbiased argument considering all the survivor nerfs that have happened lately.

How hard is it to just acknowledge that buffs and nerfs will happen for both sides?

  • Can we let people play around with it first? Lol

  • The BT change is great, this pairs a lot better with the DS nerf now because if a killer comes running back to an unhook, the survivor has a few more options to get away and not be tunneled down again.

Overall, everything seems pretty good and healthy on here!

It is fairly simple. As soon as you are the last survivor, EGC starts and the gates are powered. Basically, just as if the killer closed the hatch. The farming part is not an argument, farming in general is not meant to exist so there shouldn't be balancing around it.

But you're taking out a way some people like to play the game, and the whole stance the devs always take for this game is "people can play how they want to play"

  • @Pukenplag said:

And what is that variety of reasons? Outside people feeling attached to it and achievements, what else?

Well, for starters, how many times has RNG spawned exit gates basically right next to each other? As a last survivor, what's the point of even trying at this point?

Also, how would EGC start? Just as soon as the last gen gets done? What happens if all gens don't get done because the killer offed 2-3 survivors beforehand? Does EGC just randomly start as soon as you're the last survivor? What about people who want to farm? I've had plenty of times where a killer took pity on me because I was the only one doing anything and let me do a handful of gens and other things to get points. Does that not happen now because EGC just randomly starts in this scenario? It just seems needlessly complicated and weird.

I know there are also plenty of times I've played where questionable teammates throw the game basically from the beginning. Hatch gives people an incentive to stay in the game, regardless of what's going on. I'm not a DCer, but I feel without something like this, you'd see more DCs from survivors frustrated that they never had any chance to begin with.

  • Hatch needs to stay in the game for a variety of reasons, but a few changes could really help balance everything:

    1. Keys can slightly speed up exit gate times, as you suggested
    2. Keys require time to open the hatch as well
    3. Hatch is not visible until all gens are done or until one survivor is left

With these changes, survivors would have to think about which use of their key they want to try, and killer wouldn't have to worry about instant hatch escapes even if they've already closed it.

I think these three things could make both keys and the hatch more bearable overall.

  • This is a fantastic change, glad to hear it! I've been saying it should act more like PH cages.

Not gonna even read what you said but it's a hard No!

Perk got what it deserved, killers legit have ptsd from that perk because it was so broken for so long.

You know it's bad when you go into a match and you're playing around ds only to find out midway through the match or somewhere towards the end of the match that there was no obsession the entire time because that's how bad that perk alone affected the game and how long it dictated a killer into a certain playstyle.

Maybe it'd help to actually read what I said instead of assuming things and spouting off uninformed nonsense then, friend. Your responses in this thread are laughable considering you haven't even read anything that isn't supporting your own opinion. Calling me a crybaby when you're the one claiming PTSD over a video game perk? Really? Sounds like a bigger real life issue to me lol.

If your unhooked and the survivor goes after the killer the perk is still being abused. It's being used offensively. That's why killers wanted it changed for so long. If the killer hits you it doesn't mean they are tunneling. Some do tunnel off the hook till death but a lot also don't go out of there way to do it. It just happens. This is why I hated DS because I got punished by it even when I wasn't tunneling. Which is why I like the current version.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2082689#Comment_2082689

As I said in another post. What if more than 1 survivor is playing the same character and the killer doesn't know they are going after the person they just unhooked?

I can understand your point for sure, but what do you propose then?

A scenario I've been encountering all too often post-DS nerf: you're unhooked, killer immediately comes back and comes after you. You're being chased without a chance to even regroup yourself. Killer puts you into dying state, at this point you've burned through anywhere from 15-30 seconds of DS depending on how good your chase is. Killer leaves to kick a gen or go whack someone really quick, then comes back to you. You're hooked a second time without utilizing DS.

Maybe this isn't tunneling to you, but it is to a lot of people, and it is a problem.

AGAIN FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T/WON'T READ: I AM NOT SAYING IT SHOULD GO BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS. I am saying some alternatives should be added in addition to make it better serve it's purpose across the board.-

  • EDIT: Realized it's yet another thread by the same killer main with an extreme bias against anything survivor, so this post wasn't worth it lol.

Just... DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING FOR 60 SECONDS IF YOU WANT YOUR DS

    @Zozzy said:

Killers are not abusing anything. Survivors are refusing to run the perk and choosing to make the game more of a challenge.

If you touch a gen, you are not being tunnelled. If you heal in a corner, you are not being tunnelled. If you go for a save, you are not being tunnelled.

If either of you read at all, you would have seen that I said the conditions are more than acceptable, and all that needs to change is DS having no timer, and lasting either until a) you progress objectives or b) another person is hooked, which is a very reasonable request since you obviously cannot be tunneled if someone else is being chased.

  • @Hektic3000 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2082610#Comment_2082610

If you're ignored for the full 60 second duration then you aren't being tunneled and should be expecting a teammate to pick you up. Being able to progress your goals with complete immunity isn't health in any sense for the game, there always needs to be a risk. Ill say it again, after a certain point the killer isn't tunneling but doing their only objective of killing survivors.

60 seconds in the context of this game is not very long at all, nor is it taking into account being chased right off the hook for, say, 15 seconds and then being slugged for 45 - or any other random value of time.

It doesn’t matter what number you want to assign to it, this is still tunneling and an “anti-tunnel” perk should be available for this situation, not arbitrarily disabled because a killer decides to make it so.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

The problem with this. Survivors unhooked will get the killers attention and try to loop him because their DS will not go away.

I’m failing to see how this is a problem? If a killer really wants to tunnel, they’d go after this survivor anyway, and at this point the survivor is choosing to be tunneled by acting in such a way.

Conversely, they’re also not progressing gens or totems or what have you. And if you really want, you can choose not to engage them, at that point leaving them to be a hindrance to their team if they’re just trying to hold onto DS.

  • @Hektic3000 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/240356/a-small-ds-buff

Killers aren't abusing the new DS because objectively DS hasn't changed from before the patch, now you cant use it to gain free progress. It was never meant to be a way to say that the killer can't hook you again until you deem appropriate, it gives you another chance to try and win in chases against the killer. At a certain point the killer isn't tunneling but just doing their job, killing survivors.

But they are. The common killer main argument is “it’s an anti-tunnel perk!”, but how can it serve that purpose if a survivor is tunneled off the hook but then ignored for the duration of the DS timer before hooked again?

This was already being done, yes, but at least before, survivors were able to progress their goals before being slugged this way. And nobody can argue that tunneling hasn’t drastically increased since the DS change.

  • He's the only killer that does this for me too. My problem is that I run around a lot, and I hate having to play more safe lol.

  • Not surprised a person who made an entire thread about tunneling people out and being okay with "dirty tactics" whines about DS working as intended.

    Get good.

  • I need Jeff to get all of these now. I mostly main girls like Cheryl, Yui, and Jane, but Jeff is my favorite guy and I'd love to main him more with more cosmetic options.

I find it odd how they can't even say something as simple as "We had hoped for a best case scenario release of March 23rd, but we need a bit more time."

This whole "well we never officially announced a date anyway!" is very defensive an off putting. As @bm33 said, they KNOW 3 weeks is a widely accepted time frame after they went out of their way to confirm that they would go from 2 weeks to 3 to give them more time to make changes. So stop being weird and obtuse about it and stop shifting the blame to the people who are excited enough about your content to buy it day 1!

So much this. Everyone who's using that defensive argument comes across like this picture:

Who used the word "delayed", though? The FW didn't use it. The devs didn't use it. It was OP. All the FW said was "it's not coming out tomorrow".

But by the logic you're using, nobody should have assumed it was to begin with, so why have anyone say anything at all? Oh right, because there were understandable expectations.

You can argue whether people SHOULD have expectations or not, but this is them acknowledging it in weird, roundabout way. And that's what makes it confusing.

  • @Zarr0ch said:

How can it be "Delayed" if they never published at date to begin with?

    This is exactly my point.

If you want to use the cop out of "we never gave an official date wink wink", don't have a fog whisperer essentially unannounce something you didn't announce to begin with.

That's just messy and confusing for everyone, both in it's language and in the source it's coming from.

  • @Moxie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2040372#Comment_2040372

I understand your frustration, but no release date was ever mentioned. All they said was "Coming Soon".

Considering the rushed release of the last chapter (even after an additional week delay) was a disaster. It's better to wait for a proper release, despite the disappointment.

I actually agree that it's a great idea to hold off until it's ready.

I'm more miffed about the lack of communication all the way around, as well as using a streamer to effectively "unannounce" it (acknowledging that it was expected, even if it wasn't official to begin with)

  • @Bravescorpio said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2040358#Comment_2040358

It was never announced by the team officially as releasing tomorrow. And they've said time and time again that things are bound to change, just because it followed a pattern before doesn't mean it will again. People assumed, and maybe partially rightfully so, that it would come out tomorrow, but they never said that.

Technicality or not, they're bound to know this, and an official announcement from them in some capacity would be the professional thing to do.

I mean, even one of their fog whispers acknowledges this with his tweet. She was expected "in the fog" this week. Official announcement or not, these are not baseless assumptions.

  • Why would they wait until literally the day before to have this announced? And not even by themselves officially?

I generally think people are a little harsh on Behaviour, but even I think this is unprofessional and annoying.

  • I generally just save them if there's a character coming out that I want to dump them into, that's really the only reason.

  • @Witherrr said:

yea you're right, ten rounds of killer and I've been sent to red forest and haddonfield against a sweat squad that just sat on gens and camped godloops seven of the times is just me whining i guess. not even an exaggeration btw.

Yes, because I'm sure the game is always like this at all times. Funny how people with weird complaints always seem to only face SWF sweat squads 100% of the time and nothing else.

  • This really isn't that big of a deal, it just seems like an unnecessary complaint honestly.

  • I'm a bit of both. I don't care about escaping, I play for BPs primarily atm. If I feel like I accomplished enough and had fun, I'm chill.

If I'm the first one and/or get tunneled out of a match, I get a bit aggro not because of the strat, but because I didn't get to do anything lol.

  • "Don't get mad at SWFs. This is a survival game.

    Our objective is to survive.

    you killers forget that this is a S U R V I V A L game.

It's not up to survivors to give you time to hook everyone, it's up to you to prioritize your time.

Ensuring gens are done quickly helps TONS because now you have a better chance of a 4 man escape. It's a legit strategy and I will not feel sorry for it.

If you don't like gens popping quickly then this isn't the game for you. Genrushing is simply not fun in general for the killer trying to hook everyone. It happens, nothing you can do about it.

Survivors are just trying to win too and if we have to play dirty tactics to win so be it."

See how easy it is to recontextualize this argument?

  • A few direct quotes of yours from other threads:

"SWF is clearly a problem, why do devs continue nerfing killers and not addressing SWF?"

"This game wasn't balanced around SWF in the first place so it's not surprising to find out SWF destroys killers even if the killer is at the top of their game"

It's always a player with this thread's mindset that complains about the other side doing the same thing lol

  • I do wish we had the ability to prestige different cosmetics for at least the original characters.

For example, I hate Claudette's original outfit so I've never wasted my time prestiging her even though I play her a lot in other outfits. If I could get bloodied versions of some of those, I'd definitely do it.

1 … 10 11 12 13 14 … 16
