Why is deranking as survivor impossible?

If I have a single bad match as killer it's bye rank 1. Even if I get 3k if I didn't enough chasing or gen kicking or whatever, it's back to rank 2. The killer is not allowed any mistakes and completly depends on the survivors to keep his rank.

But survivors can touch a gen for 2 seconds, heal someone and that's it? They reach the bare minimum? They can be afk the whole game, let their teammates die, get the hatch and they rank up?

How come a bad match as survivor means zero points lost but a bad match as killer is deranking time?

Unbelivable good survivors can make me derank in matches that can last up to 40 minutes but I can't make any survivor in Rank 1 derank unless I kill them within the first minute of the game (in which case the killer is also punished and barely gets any reward)

    You are exaggerating which kinda makes your point weaker so i advice you not to do that in the future.

    Anywho survivers whined a long time ago that pipping was too hard, seemingly completely missing the fact that the value of rank is directly connected to the effort needed to achieving it, her every potato and their grandfather is rank 1.


    What is more weird is how whiney you seem to be about something so meaningless, so you have to do more to keep your rank? So what? It only means that rank 1 killer means more then rank 1 survivor if it means anything at all which...it doesnt

    I personally reach rank 1 as killer a lot faster, so i doesnt matter when i lose it after a match. As a survivor i lose pips all the time, but its probably bc i stay on a gen when i know that another survivor will unhook and so i get not many altruism points.

    But in the end both ranks are meaningless and easy to reach.

    Rank 1 as a solo survivor is very difficult as well, for the record.

    As a solo survivor, you can be playing completely optimally and progressing to the best of your ability, but if your teammate suicides on a hook, or nobody else but you works on gens, or a multitude of other issues, you won't be ranking up that easily after a certain point.

    As a survivor, it is very easy to derank. Your performance is not only dependent on you but the killer and your team too. Examples for killer reasons:

    1. If the killer performs poorly and doesn't hook anyone, no one gets Benevolent emblems.
    2. If the killer ignores you (Obsession perks or tunneling someone else), you don't get Evader emblems. No questions asked.
    3. If you're tunneled and camped, you won't be getting enough Lightbringer emblems.
    4. While the killer is slugging you, you effectively gain 0 emblems.

    Check this video. Zubat is tunneled by the killer for most of the match and got 0 rank progress, nothing he could do to change that. And he is very skilled, most survivors would have deranked there easily.

    On the survivor side of issues:

    1. You compete with your teammates for unhooks to get Benevolent emblems. That's the reason for the hookbomb ######### show we see these days.
    2. If you need to gen jokey (bc a teammate is if too busy plundering, following the killer with a flashlight, self caring in a corner, etc) you'll get a Bronze Benevolent/Evader.
    3. You're entirely depending on teammates unhooking you. If they don't, you'll most certainly derank.

    As a killer, you can do everything, but as a survivor, you need to cover for your team's flaws, and most of the time that means you'll be scoring in 1 or 2 Emblems well and doing very poorly in the others, easy derank for the unreliable crew one finds in SQ.

    i depip for getting a hook save, a full gen done, 2 full heals and max chase points


    btw if youre having trouble with pipping as killer play legion, that mf gets 30k bloodpoints and a double pip even though he didnt get a single kill.
