Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how the game used to feel. Back then, maps felt bigger, there were more places to hide, and the atmosphere was closer to an actual horror game. You could really feel the tension of being hunted, the dread of not knowing where the killer was, and the fear of making noise in the wrong spot.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNiHc2d3oWs

Today, everything feels way too fast. Survivors die too quickly, generators fly by, and the overall pace leaves little room for that creeping horror vibe that made DBD so unique in the first place.

In my opinion, the game would be much healthier if matches lasted longer and gave more space for tension and atmosphere to build

100% this. However, when this has been suggested in the past, for matches to be longer people complain that gens take too long and they are boring or theres little interaction. Thats why these days we end up getting fast paced, high speed killers and gens that fly, so people are always in the action. unfortunately this action has now almost flipped the genre of the game, its no longer a suspense driven, creepy, scary horror game that it used to be. wouldnt be surprised if the devs decide to give survivors guns and vehicles to keep up with the fast and furious style this game is becoming. Even the OG cutscene sequence with trapper and the survivors in a woodland area is misleading. survivors creeping around by a gen knowing the trapper is there and 1 steps on a branch…maybe it should have all survivors running franticly around a pallet with a blight zooming around the place instead, atleast that would be more accurate to the feel of the game.

  • if people are finding less krasue players it might be due to the mass of players that go next or dc forcing players to play a different killer if they want a match. last night people were even saying in the lobby " if its new killer im going next". seems many krasue players are stuggling to find people to play a watch with.

no one wants to go against a broken killer thats primed for tunneling, 0 cooldown and killers abusing the auto aim. they literally run around spamming the attack so it hit a wall and bounces to home in on a survivor near by, no need to aim, no need to even find a survivor, just spam and wait for the attack to do it for you.

    they reverted anti tunneling though

They admitted it was not ready

admitting somthing isnt ready to go live so holding back and admitting they were wrong to release rework myers are very different. look at the new killer and the update as a whole, its a disaster and we havnt seen bhvr admitting it was a bad call to release a pro tunneling killer with a pro tunneling update.

From what I understand, the spawn rates actually get worse the higher you go. There's a lot of reports of that every event.

level 50 web guarantees atleast 1/2 iri items/add ons. when i finsh level 50 web you have to start from level 1 and work back up, i think between level 1 and 25 getting 2 iris in the web can be a challange. oven over level 25 i can go multiple levels and not have 1 iri come up. level 50 web ALWAYS has atleast 1 or 2 iri.

For couple years now, without fail if i spend about 40k BP on my p100 myers to finish the 50 web then next web that spawns will have another iri.

You pretty much just ignored my entire explanation of why we cant very meaningfully substantiate any claim of balance, rather we can substantiate our personal experience by recorded it. If you are just gonna continue demanding evidence for my subjective opinion I think you will be disappointed.

i mean your putting a lot of faith in bhvr ability to determine whats wrong and balance when they said they were going to do an anti tunnel update then they release a pro tunneling update….

If I didn't think BHVR was doing the right things to make an entertaining game product, I would quit.
Has nothing to do with faith though, they have provided an excellent game for 9+ years.

"If I didn't think BHVR was doing the right things to make an entertaining game product, I would quit.Has nothing to do with faith though, they have provided an excellent game for 9+ years"

Lets clear this, We are all providing weak arguments based on our Personal Experience. Which is a guess we have about what is wrong, BHVR is the only ones who will get to tell for sure though, we can only guess based on our personal experiences. BHVR get their stats from how we play, but sometimes the what is said does not match up with the numbers, this is why BHVR cross-reference with statistics.

And no, that does not mean your experience means nothing, its valuable feedback to BHVR even if they are weak arguments. BHVR like to hear bad arguments too, both give them inspiration, ambition and invites them to develop solutions.

But between us Two Subjective Experiences don't mean much to each other, in both same ways we are unconvinced by the other having a different experience. An argument based on only Personal Experience is just the same, a weak argument.
We both made clear that we are not convinced by each other's personal experience and both of us remain skeptical in return.

And no, me pointing out a problem with those arguments and how you structure them, does not make my own suddenly 'not weak', that would be dishonest. But then again, if I have given indication that I believed that to be the case, then that was wrong of me.

Speaking of problems with arguments, No not every game will have absurd shred value, I don't expect that, why do you?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxTId5J_6vg

I had more Shred value in this game, but I doubt it will be enough for you guys. And I was absurdly lucky in the beginning too.

so pretty much offered no evidence to support your opinion, not even your own stats. i can think the moon is made of cheese but how do i expect people to take that seriously without showing anything to substantiate that claim? my opinion right? im entitled to it, sure. does it make it true? no. i mean your putting a lot of faith in bhvr ability to determine whats wrong and balance when they said they were going to do an anti tunnel update then they release a pro tunneling update…. im not convinced by your personal experience because from what you have shown and said your personal experience shows what i have been saying… myers got nerfed not buffed.

again your own argument, your own evidence showing gameplay shows survivors got down to the last gen. if you demolished them like tombstone myers have been doing (4k at 4 or 5 gen) you would have that experience to substantiate your claim he got buffed. Claiming you average out 2k is not exactly what i would a buff when myers players often had far better results before the rework, which is indicated by the stats, even the next clip you showed 1 gen remaining. Lots of myers players, myself included, pre rework were demolishing survivors solo and swf and 4 or 5 gens using tombstone. can you show this is still the case with the rework myers? That would atleast prove your point to some degree.

im really trying to see both sides here but im genuinely not seeing anything, stats, experience or otherwise to suggest any buffs. All im seeing is an argument for "can you 4k with myers"…yes you can. is it easier than before the rework? thats the bit your failing to explain and thats the crucial part to if myers has been nerfed or buffed.

To all those killers that respect Bardic and let the survivor who plays it escape, thank you. You are the majority that makes survivor a lot more fun and easy going, please keep respecting the guitar players :)

play a tune for the killer and expect an escape? strange

  • @Jarky said:

They were initially added as part of the anti-tunnel unique hook buffs, because the pistons would light on fire when you had basekit pop available after unique hooking a survivor.

Why they didn't back it out with the anti-tunnel, I don't know, but I suppose in some respects it's a very minor killer buff because a killer player can now more easily tell a gen's progress further away.

or a minor survivor buff that now survivors can see the moving pistons easier they know to avoid running directly to the gen iim ok if the killer is chasing them

  • @MDRSan said:

The suspicious behavior system is obnoxious. Just had a match where a huntress downed and hooked 2 survivors right after the match started, was chasing another and I went in to unhook someone because what the hell else am I supposed to do. The huntress instantly switches over to me, downs me at the hook in a trade, leaves me slugged and goes and downs the other 2 remaining survivors. Everyone gets hooked and I'm greeted with a big aggravating 'suspicious behavior' message at the end game screen.

Now this is a crap match - I'm already annoyed. The last thing I need is a message from BHVR popping up accusing me of throwing just because an opponent steamrolled us. I was just annoyed, not full on tilted until that stupid message came up. Maybe fix your crap so it doesn't false flag players and rub salt in their wounds? Just a suggestion.

honestly have no idea how people are getting this. i have never had that once. never even had a penalty for DC. what are you people doing in your matches lol

  • i mean this is human nature, people are not pleasant creatures lol. i dont think its the forum thats changed but maybe tolerance levels have changed for some? Personally, i honestly dont care if my posts get upvoted or downvoted, if im insulted…water off a ducks back. If my tolerance for being insulted or hearing peoples idiocy waned or i suddenly started get emotional over a counter by an arrow i would step back like some others have done. i havnt reached that point yet :)

Not exactly I already provided arguments for that, but you guys just dismissed them because you don't think its useful.
Which isnt an argument. Other than that we already discussed how none of us will have any tangible evidence for one way or the other, only BHVR will get closest to that. And then I got the other guy to admit he wont even play it, I think you also managed to do that.

So I don't know why you are asking for evidence you should know I cant give you or repeat arguments you already dismissed.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4007431#Comment_4007431

You never stand under pallet waiting for what killer is going to do?

Against Wraith maybe when its safe, but no I run around to gain distance.
I'm not going to let a bad connection ruin my games.

Ignoring list of why he is worse I see.

    Im not ignoring your list,
I just don't see how valid in any way it could be if you have admitted to not having spent barely any time on him.

Kinda funny, when you have such a good stealth, yet you had to play with Unforseen…

I use a randomizer website to pick my perks. I didn't HAD to play with it.

you havnt provided arguments which support myers buff at all lol. you have only attempted to debunk and invalidate anyone that suggests myers got nerfed which you yourself seem to be dismissing anything that anyone says. You maintain this "only bhvr will get close to that" mindset but you cant seriously be saying only bhvr can tell people if its a buff or nerf. bhvr gets their stats from the people, the very same people that are making it abundantly clear its a nerf. My stats mean nothing, the number of nerf post and threads on this forum alone that out number the buffs 10 to 1 apparently means nothing, people stating what they have seen and experienced means nothing because only bhvr have access to stats.

you have flat out ignored the fact that it took me days to get regular 4k with old myers but its taking more time and more effort to get the same result with reowork myers. im not saying its definitive proof its a nerf or buff but its certainly an indicator, maybe im the outlier and the exception to the rule. myself and others have provided you with more than adequate arguments to support myers has been nerfed (which you dismiss) but apparently your non argument of debunking others automatically proves its not a nerf its a buff.

"My experience has been quite a lot of 4Ks until I faced people who play better and then it slowed down, now its 2Ks on average.
Against Myers, my solo Q team mates was rolled in dough, deep fried and eaten whole, but that's not really different from normal gameplay before this patch."

This statement and the 1 clip showing a match is the only evidence you have provided which both actually support my argument lol.

    1. you admit that kill rate slowed down to 2ks on average…. yet tombstone myers generally gets 3/4k on average. for this to support your argument you would need to be getting less than 2k on average with old myers which is highly doubtful based on the stats that bhvr released, the same stats you whole heartedly swear by as solid proof.
    2. the clip you provided shows 4k with 1 gen left. old myers would have gotten 4k at 3, 4 or 5 gens remaining especially v soloq players. The fact survivors managed to get it down to 1 gen left also shows they are making more progress v new myers than the old version.
  • the only reason i dont like the auto recovery is because veru often people get downed and they just afk. if they are not moving and not recovering i know they are afk and not to bother going for the heal. auto recovery could mean when i heal them that last bit they just stand there afk and i put myself at risk for a player that isnt even playing. sort of makes me want to help my team even less when i dont know if they are afk or not.

You said it yourself, its big trends that count. how do we get to big trends? when enough people add to the stats to create a big trend. looking at the big picture you have to take into account all players which would include my stats as an indicator. if people were saying they are now getting 3 or 4k easier than before then they would also be taken into account.

Unfortunately just making a list of thing you heard is not really what it takes to gather a big trend.
You got the part right about listening to what the Community says, but then you cross reference that with stats and survey data.

Could also just be everyone is kicking and screaming about it right now, and that it will be adopted in time.
I am definitely adopting Myers right now. How could you account for that with your lil study? Trick Question, You cant.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4007355#Comment_4007355

Ill grant you, when everyone stands perfectly still like would not happen in normal gameplay then yes, its easy to counter. Idk why you would think that would be a convincing argument, but yeah we can grant that…

    Whats next?

am i right in that you think myers has been buffed but provide no evidence or argument to back this up but instead try to debunk evidence that suggests he has been nerfed? if your going on stats and numbers like a computer then what stats and numbers do you have to suggest he has been buffed?

I do think that characters should be intuitive to pick up and be okay with. Characters should be fun on the first play, not after sinking 20 hours especially when most DBD players are casual.

But, I definitely agree that the recent game design's direction is worrying. Every new Killer and many recent reworks seem to have a design intent at removing skill to make getting downs effortless and nearly unavoidable with enough chase time.

2 recent killers have released with auto-aim, and a recent rework just had 2 different forms of auto-aim implemented into the power (Singularity)! Granted, I do agree that it grants controller players an easier time but M&Kb players are stomping.

i hate to say it but maybe its all part of bhvr master plan to get rid of tunneling…. as unlikely as it seems, its possible.

Why do killers tunnel? because spreading hooks and leaving 4 players in the game often isnt enough time before all gens are done. nerf tunneling and killers struggle.

so how does bhvr intend to get rid of a tactic that is so heavily relied on? by making it so killers can down faster and easier without needing to tunnel. gens fly, downs fly, the match is fast paced action packed and over in 5min either by gens being done or a 4k.

bhvr seems to be accomplishing the easier to down and kill with all these auto aim, mindless, no skill speed freaks that fly around the place. maybe the tunneling nerfs are due?

or its bhvr pretty much saying tunneling is here to stay "here have another killer designed to camp, slug and tunnel."

Either way, bhvr seems to be going about the design of the game all wrong for one side or the other.

if we are going by stats then ideally my kill rate would be a good stat to go by?

Why would you personal kill rate be anything to go by?
I dont think you understand why we look at stats at all if you make such a statement, its not personal stats that matter but rather big trends.

every match and have done for years which is why my kill rate is 80 to 90% and often go against 3 or 4 man swf on a regular basis so im not even getting soloq, if my kill rate dropped then it should indicate a nerf

And so your personal Killrate dropped and you claim you have fully used and learnt everything there is to know about the new Myers after 4 days, You are at the maximum peak of what new Myers can possibly ever do?
Cause that is what you would have to be for that statement to more than just personal experience.

Even so if that is true BHVR could buff Myers later,
but I remain skeptical at best at your claim at having figured out new Myers fully.

i agree i have not mastered myers fully after 4 days, i did master tombstone myers after 4 days though lol. the skill ceiling on tombstone myers was pretty low so it didnt take muck to pick up, play and get 4k. new myers seems to require time….clearly thats a nerf.

You said it yourself, its big trends that count. how do we get to big trends? when enough people add to the stats to create a big trend. looking at the big picture you have to take into account all players which would include my stats as an indicator. if people were saying they are now getting 3 or 4k easier than before then they would also be taken into account.

points that suggest myers is nerfed

    1. personal experience
    2. the number of people being very vocal regarding its a nerf
    3. other peoples stats and experience (might not be a big enough trend for you but its a strong indicator atleast)

points that suggest myers has been buffed…..

    1. the very few people that claim hes easier
    2. …..no just that 1 no personal stats from people saying "now im getting 4k but before i struggled to get 2k" lol

you dont need to see cold hard stats after months of analysis to work out some outcomes, sometimes the pattern and indicators are clear well before hand and can be easily predicted. its like saying "putting your hand in fire will burn you but we need to wait for the stats to show this because there are a few people that claim it doesnt burn you lol"

If stats later show myers had a buff i will say im wrong but the evidence SO FAR strongly indicates hes suffered a pretty hefty nerf based on 1. my own experience. 2 based on others experience and 3. based on the stats of other peoples matches showing they are getting less kills now than before the rework.

only these gaming mags want nerfs and buffs to suit their agenda. They want to be competitive, but at the cost of having the other guys be at a disadvantage. Some want to be competitive whilst having no challenge. not to generalise but I often feel Many killers see the role as the power role (and it is) and also see themselves as the only competent playing side AND want the challenge to be for the survivors - yet want all the changes to be beneficial for them only.

Which is fine from a selfish point of view but is narcissistic. And I see some dedicate hours and hours to argue their case on these forums to what end? Keep advantages. So much for challenge

being asymetrical game i do think the killer should have it slightly easier than survivors. there is no fear element to playing killer, they cant be killed. but a survivor should struggle to survive and escape. sort of like an easy and hard mode. easy mode being killer role and hard mode being survivor. although i feel solo and swf have their own modes, solo being hard mode and swf being easy mode. as survivor i want the challenge of not knowing if im going to die, where the killer is, who the killer is, it adds to the horror element i want that edge of the seat feeling a true fight for survival. as killer i dont have that fear that survivors have because im the killer, i dont want to struggle against 4 unarmed survivors that that can literally run circles around me. thats just my take on the roles, i dont really know what individual streamers agendas are because i dont get involved in that sort of thing, i just play the game and voice my own opinions rather than echo a streamer.

Streamers offering tips and tricks and showing people certain tactics is fine but i do agree that streamers shouldnt have more of a say in how the game is developed. They should stick to offering people advice and playing for peoples entertainment, not influence the devs to make the game how they say it should be.

Well, by looking at his changes I would say he is objectively worse

There is no way you can determine objectivity from that, none of us could.
BHVR could by looking at the stats when they stabilize. Even if you think stats mean less.

So tell me why is his current version stronger. You for sure have some reasoning behind it and I would like to know.

Ok, his Undetectable on Command, ability to shred pallets is a huge reason he is better in my opinion. less time wasted elsewhere is more time to make a play that matters. But I thought this should be obvious from the changes.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4006677#Comment_4006677

we can only go on our own experiences and so far im seeing very few people say myers has been buffed.
but a lot saying its a nerf,

Like I explained to Pet, postulating the objectivity regarding these changes is meaningless, but both individual experiences can be true at the same time. Depending on what MMR we would be at the changes could affect us both positively and negatively.

It also depends on how much you go looking for other opinions, there are people who have been having good experiences with Myers and they have said so. I see such messages on critical posts of the Rework on Reddit all the time, getting disliked into oblivion ofc. I usually don't care what the Community says, because often they are wrong and I'm not supposed to be the arbiter of that.

what do you have to realistically demonstrate myers has been buffed?

Well stats is what you would need, which none of us have.
I don't even have gameplay recorded of Old Myers, so I cant demonstrate differences either.

whats your experience been like against or as myers?

My experience has been quite a lot of 4Ks until I faced people who play better and then it slowed down, now its 2Ks on average.
Against Myers, my solo Q team mates was rolled in dough, deep fried and eaten whole, but that's not really different from normal gameplay before this patch.

    https://youtu.be/6DFYJWAnHvk

I did record a few of my games, it will demonstrate my experience at least.
But it will take time to get really good at that Slaughtering Strike.

if we are going by stats then ideally my kill rate would be a good stat to go by? pre rework p100 myers i was getting 3/4k almost every match and have done for years which is why my kill rate is 80 to 90% and often go against 3 or 4 man swf on a regular basis so im not even getting soloq, if my kill rate dropped then it should indicate a nerf?

like i said, before rework soloq would often get demolished because people feed stalk but now soloq players are having a much easier time, im not seeing anyone saying myers is op like they used to say pre rework, i mean there is a handful of people that seem to claim he is op after rework but it really does take some searching to find these posts.

That's cool it's not you, but anyone who got really into multiplayer gaming in the last decade or so has come into it in the age of Twitch, esports, and social media. They don't know a version of gaming that wasn't like this. They weren't just playing Mortal Kombat against friends on a Genesis after school. Even in this forum the name dropping of streamers to wild. So-and-so said this and the new video from whoever-the-hell explained it perfectly. You're expected to listen to and care about these people's opinions. I've already seen several Krasue players running the Dissolution and Bamboozle combo because it immediately spread online. It's been like a day since this character came out.

I honestly don't know how anyone past 30 can can take gaming so serious. There's probably lots of other important things in your life. This is just of so low value in a fully established adult life.

And the discussion point isn't that fun and winning are mutually exclusive because that's absurd, it's that the only way some people have fun is by winning and they don't care who they step on to get to this goal that wins you absolutely nothing in life.

i can see both sides of the coin, the casual player that doesnt take gaming seriously and the competitive must win at all cost mindset. if someone is content with their life and wants a casual easy going game thats great. likewise someone that is older and perfectly happy with their life might want to win at all cost, great. But just because people do or dont take gaming seriously isnt a reflection of their personal life goals. im fortunate enough that i am able to play games in work, i have a great life, perfectly happy but that doesnt mean i will take gaming more seriously or less seriously because im older.

The streamer thing i kinda agree with, but even before social media and streamers and even the internet i used to get gaming mags that came with tips and tricks for top games and advice for beating bosses or tactics to use in multiplayer matches. if i saw something useful or fun i might share it with my friends or surprise them by beating them using a new method i read about. Streamers are basically the modern day equivalent to the old school gaming mags, they just share the tips and tricks and advice online for free instead of a mag.

You know what gets me about you pro-tunnelers? You argue as if tunneling is the only way to win, as if the only way to enjoy the game is by forcing a victory.

This always puzzles me, because I see so many people in the forums defending it, yet I don't do it as killer nor do I see that much hard tunneling in my survivor matches. So, like most of the forum, they are vocal minority. But when you do come across it in game, it'll be more negatively impactful on your mindset than your last ten matches.

The purpose of video games is to have fun. Tunneling eliminates that possibility for everyone except the one selfish player who does it.

Quite a lot of people here argue that "fun" and "win" are synonyms. They can't distinguish between the two.

The hyper-competitveness in gaming is so strange to me and is a pretty modern phenomenon, but many players are young enough that it's all they know. That and streamers, who have really killed the vibe.

i dont think age or streamers has anything to do with hyper competitiveness. i been playing games since the og Atari and sega megadrive and i dont watch streamers (i rather play the game myself than watch other play it). but i still like to win whatever game im playing and often i am competitive and always have been. the choice isnt fun OR win, they can coexist together as having fun by winning and there is nothing wrong with that.

Stop giving me the power rangers as survivors when I play killer-not even as a P1 killer and survivors who don't do anything as teammates when I play survivor. I'm at the point where I'm tempted to delete my account because that's just how terrible matchmaking is. Put the survivors who don't want to work together in matches together and give me teammates who actually play and stop giving me prestige 30+ survivors when I play killer- my highest killer prestige is 5- I should NOT be getting survivors that high of a prestige.

what your asking for in an swf lol a team that has 1 common goal. soloq isnt swf there are 4 individuals, each with their own goal (maybe adept, totem challenge, stun killer challenge, escape via hatch). as much as soloq sucks, its the nature of teaming up with random people which is exactly why i play selfishly….am i liked for doing so? probably not. do i care? nope, because i have fun and escape.

how are we to know that you didnt face Myers's who didnt know what to do? Are you gonna asses that for us?

Nah I agree, there isn't much that can be said and BHVR looking at the stats will show where people are struggling.

we can only go on our own experiences and so far im seeing very few people say myers has been buffed. but a lot saying its a nerf, this is backed by my own experience in the game and the experience of others in my games. what do you have to realistically demonstrate myers has been buffed? whats your experience been like against or as myers?

  • @Emeal said:

First, you need to remove the animation when switching to Slaughtering Strike. Get rid of it. It was unnecessary and makes his power nearly useless by giving everyone time to set up a pallet stun.

No thanks, one of the main reasons Old Myers sucked was the 99 gameplay.
Here in Modern Dead by Daylight we give Survivors a chance to gain some distance or a fair warning before giving the Killer such a Powerful Tool as Slaughtering Strike.

Please BHVR DO NOT remove the Cooldown it isnt fair to new people to find an undetectable Killer and then boom instantly dead. The average player does not want to play against that.

Second, you need to remove the cooldown to Slaughtering Strike. It already has an induction, it doesn't also need a cooldown.

Absolutely not, with a little practise you can easily hit Survivors very fast with Slaughtering Strike. Having no cooldown would make Killers who master this skill insufferable.

Here is what BHVR should do instead of doing changes this soon, Look at the statistics not only at Player Feelings.
Myers is definitely stronger than before and way more action-packed. Loads more actions or progress per min.

ye dunno what to tell you, old myers was a challenge to play against, as survivor i won some i lost some. new myers, i have never lost a match against him. says hes been nerfed big time when a mediocre survivor like me can make a mockery of myers and still escape. and its not just me escaping most matches its 3 escape. im failing to see how this killer was buffed when all myers so far (in my matches) have struggled to get more than 1k. more action packed? yes. stronger? not a chance.

  • @Munky said:

    Agreed.

This playerbase is completely beyond me. I would much rather have a Krasue than a Nurse… at least Krasue I can loop :D Why is nobody calling for nurse nerfs?

Before I went survivor, I played Krasue a bunch myself, and thus now have a rather good understanding of her power and limits. When you understand she has a 90° locked angle (just like they did my boy chucky dirty), she is so easy and even funny to juke :D Even made a game out of it to make her "whaaaaagh" as much in 1 chase as I could :D Had a few 3man out matches in solos. So far I'm not complaining about Krasue yet. Genrush will always beat killer, no matter how good they are. And I'm kinda happy to see less ghouls and Springtraps now ^^

people have been calling for nurse nerfs for years lol. the big difference between nurse and krasue is nurse takes some time and skill to get to top performance. krasau doesnt take much skill and literally anyone even new players can pick up instantly and get 4k.

  • @badgerman97 said:

I have seen non-stop complaint about the Krasue ever since she went live and I'm honestly tired of it. Everyone is saying "she doesn't have counterplay." She actually does, but it is far too early to find something concrete. We're adults, not entitled toddlers who need instant gratification without the effort. She isn't S-Tier, nor does she rival Nurse. No one has ever threatened Nurse in 9 years. She is mid to low A at best, high to mid B at worst.

If you're struggling against her, learn to loop better. Her head form is difficult to control and vaults much slower than survivors. Keep yourself un-Leeched, and you're golden. My SWF and I go against P100s and run circles around them, Krasue is no different. Play the game and get better before posting to the forums

am i correct in that you say survivors shouldnt expect a reasonable counter as instant gratification without effort but the killer can receive instant gratification without effort? far too early to find concrete counterplay, but not far too early to find optimal play with the killer?

keep yourself un-leeched and your golden? there is literally an add on that means people start the match leeched lol.

this has to bait surly lol

I agree completely. When I used to play survivor all the time, the only killer that really I'm scared of going against was Myers. He's not like other killers where its just generic goal of fast chases, rinse, repeat.

I always dreaded he might pop out of nowhere and I'm always tense as he can pop anywhere. Myers may seem weak to casual gamers, but its because the way to play him takes a lot of mind games. If he was chasing you, and disappear, is he still on the chase, did you lose him, or still lurking in the background?

My biggest issue is the rework of Vanity Mirror as its my biggest asset to play Myers. Scratch mirror is just a meme add-on, its great to scare some people, but good luck playing against good players, or playing with other than probably 3 maps you can only use that on.

Vanity Mirror lets me not care which map, or whoever I'm playing against. Of course, like any games, when its a great team that plays great teamwork, they'll win, but I usually do well and can get 3k to 4k many times.

With new Myers, I'm typically 0k to 1k on most games. And I feel they just made him bland and play like generic killers…fast chases, use power, rinse, repeat.

Myers was the only one that really keeps me sometimes in playing dbd. I'll play other killers to mix things up, but he's the one I really enjoy playing. Its another example of if it aint broke, don't fix it. Or better yet, just tweak some things and let players decide. Look at the add ons, everything revolves around this new play set. The only silver lining is the New Halloween game coming out next year. I hope it plays like the old Myers.

weirdly i was just watching gameplay of the new halloween game like an hour ago. it does look good, love the fact myers can actually go invisible to reflect his movie style, can pop out anywhere and vanish in a blink of an eye.

Hatch doesnt allow 3 survivors to escape. Survivors win when 3 survivors escape.
Killers with 0 hooks and 5 gens gone can still basically guarantee 1 kill. Just like survivors can still basically guarantee 1 escape.

Why should the killer be able to get a 4k, but survivors not 3 people out?

You dont win if you get hatch. You still overall lose. 3 survivors are dead. The real win is still escaping through gate.

And no, SWF teams dont boost their mmr through comms and playing part of coordinated teams the way killers do. I am not going to explain how both sides gain MMR, because survivor MMR gain isnt as consistent. Escaperates are below 50%. Meaning that on average, if you gain 100 MMR by having a 4 man escape, and then lose 50 MMR because you get tunnelled out first, despite being on comms, you still only gain 50 MMR per match. While as a killer, if you slug for a 4k every match, you could go from 80 MMR gain to 100 MMR gain. That first kill out, even if by sheer luck, increases your chances on a 3k significantly, which can then lead you to slugging for a 4k.

If people arent on comms, 3k's arent going to be uncommon. With the average killrate being very close to a 3k, that means on average, killers gain about 80 MMR in that example. And with a 50% escaperate, you would only gain 50MMR per match. Ofcourse those numbers are smaller and more nuanced than that, but its much easier to "abuse" a tunnel than it is to "abuse" 4 man on comms. Those 4 people actually need to be good to achieve that and combined be better than the killer. While tunnelling when facing any non 4 man swf on comms only requires you to find a survivor who isnt that good to snowball into a 3k.

im not sure where you get that from lol. mmr criteria? your own personal win/loss opinion? mmr counts hatch as a draw not a loss. mmr is counted for individual survivor not as a team. if 1 survivor escapes out the gate then "the team" technically lost, killer gains mmr but that 1 survivor that escaped out the gates also won and gets mmr gain. i have never heard anything stating that mmr is gained as a team as a whole. if this is the case i would be interested in seeing the evidence to support it. last i saw mmr was worked out on a 1 v 1 v 1 v 1 v 1 basis. aside from mmr because who really cares about an invisible number, the "win criteria is dependant on the individual imo. if a killer feels anything less than 4k is a lose then 4k is their win criteria. some killers consider 2 or 3k a win. as survivor my win criteria is ESCAPE via any means necessary. when i get hatch i ascape and the killer is denied 4k. thats a win for me even if mmr considers it a draw. certainly not a loss.

Why should the killer be able to win that match?
Simply flip the script: Ok, so survivors have 1 survivor dead at 5 gens, all other survivors are on dead hook. Can you explain how survivors can win that match other than the killer simply allowing them to escape?
See how entitled that mindset is? Why do you deserve the possibility of a win when you got nothing done and your opponent pretty much got everything done?

And while people dont care about MMR, it IS the reason why they feel like they "need" to tunnel. Objectively, ever since MMR has been introduced, the game has been made easier for killers and more difficult for survivors. Yet the "need" to tunnel raised every single year. Why is that? Maybe the MMR system matching you up with opponents you cannot handle because you cared more about a survivor "unfairly" getting the hatch than you "unfairly" getting a 4k.

And no, godloops no longer exist. There are a few god pallets (aka, pallets you HAVE to break otherwise you cannot loop, like Killershack pallet), but god loops? No.

And people went next, because tunnelling became the standard. If you were hooked first, you would get tunnelled. Tunnelling epidemic introduced Go Next. And tunnelling got so far because of MMR boosting due to slugging and tunnelling just cus.

i can axplain very easily how to win that match, i have won many matches like that. its called hatch… thats my point. as survivor the killer can wipe out my whole team at 5 gens. There is a reason i go into every match with hatch offering lol. chances are my team will do awful or go next, killer won…but i can still win via hatch. This scenario doesnt exist for killer, if survivors do all gens and killers get 0 hooks, survivors have won, killer cant pick up a 3 or 4k from nothing (maybe with noed).

Im aware good loops dont exist because now the game has bloodlust and vault blocking. remove them and see what happens, loops that are currently not god loops suddenly become god loops. there is a reason why bloodlust and vault blocking became basekit….to eliminate god loops.

as already stated the need to tunnel applies to top swf teams with meta perks, coms, perk synergy, offering synergy. do killers need to tunnel v solo uncoordinated teams? no, i dont think so but the killer doesnt know they are solo or swf so more often than not the killer will assume they are swf and play accordingly which results in soloq getting demolished.

If your suggesting killers boosted their mmr by tunneling, then the same must be applied to swf teams that boost their mmr by using coms and playing as part of well coordinated team. I have played against many survivors that are usually in swf and when they play solo they openly admit "never playing soloq again". Why? because they have boosted their mmr by having swf advantages that or not available to them in solo? it works both ways. killers that lose when they try to spread hooks can say the same, "never spreading hooks again".

  • i said it many times and will say again, old myers actually felt like a threat. as survivor, if i know its a myers i wouldnt dare get in his face because i know its game over if i do. i certainly wouldnt try to piss him off by tbagging at every opportunity because 1 slip and i know im getting tombstoned. it made the game feel scary and tense like horror games should feel. Not only that but it was a breath of fresh air to get a myers instead of a speed freak auto tunneler like ghoul, blight, nurse. Myers had counter play which was avoid line of sight, or stay on a gen or use lockers or hop on a totem if there is one nearby. He had virtually no anti loop and no speed so he needed somthing to give him a bit of an edge.

New Myers is a joke if im honest, he still lacks the speed for traveling around the map, he still has pretty much no anti loop (his dash is mediocre at best), hes still very much map dependant but he lost his tombstone edge so he no longer seems like a threat. i feel confident to get in his face, drop a tbag and run….worst case is i get downed and hooked. i would never do that with a tombstone myers. personally i think new Myers is way more boring to go against than old Myers. Added to the fact so far every match i have had with a new myers i have escaped and mostly ends with 3 man escapes. i have seen Myers get 2k at best in my matches as survivor.

Was tombstone piece op? maybe, but they should have tweaked it imo not neutered him completely by removing it entirely. True myers can basekit tombstone after the survivor is on death hook but by that point its pointless and provides very little benefit, 0 benefit if that survivor is alreadly injured. might as well just down them and hook them as normal.

What's stopping them from doing challenges on an empty map? I'm not advocating for the game to end, merely for the killer to no longer be present.

any option that removed the human player from enduring the tbag fest would result in a resounding NO! from survivors. i would like an abandon option for killer when gates are open, the killer can choose to try for 1 final kill if they think there is a chance or they choose to just abandon, as killer i would like that choice. as survivor it doesnt effect me because when the gates are open i leave asap anyway….even if my team are not at the gates lol.

He has like 50 000 new sound effects for EVERYTHING he does, tiering up? new sound effect, 50% of your gauge up? new sound effect, readying your power? new sound effect, using your power? new sound effect, and so on… From atmospheric sounds to sfx polution on a stealth killer.

I'm not sure what happened but all of his new animations are so half-assed, his knife from the Survivors' POV looks like a badly unwrapped UV map. Destroying pallets looks awfully unfinished.

Having a 40 meter Terror Radius on Michael is just laughable when you compare him to Oni who can move at mock speed while Michael is just walkin'.

You can tier up faster now yes, but your power runs out so fast that you can at max maybe down one Survivor during it unless they group up of course. That's another thing, who thought it would be a good idea to add a long-ass cooldown on a time limited power? You need to wait 6 seconds for your 1000 degree knife to cooldown I guess before you can use it again, counting with the 40 second duration you might aswell use it like 2 or 3 times per tier 3.

His stalk range also got nerfed for no reason? Why is it 32 meters now? Just to make room for an add-on that changes it back? Amazing design!

And all of this just to make him tiny bit stronger any stray way more from the source material, great job BHVR, Old Myers is dead and you killed him, we could have had something cool as a rework but all we got is dashslop™.

i dont know if its because people are just getting used to the new myers or if the rework is just that bad but pretty much all my matches as survivor v myers has been easy 3man escapes. east to see, big TR, easy to loop. old myers was pretty easy to loop but 1 slip and its tombstone. now i can make multiple mistakes and still be ok because worst case is i get hooked.

  • bit op with the no cooldown imo. but its another speed killer primed for tunneling, they can easily leave the hook area, quickly return and tunnel. the main issue i have is so many people seem to be dcing. my last match where no one dc or went next went pretty well though. 3 escape.

  • ye this killer will get nerfed 100% literally 10 matches in a row my whole team has gone next lol its crazy. there might be a counter, there might not be a counter but from the sheer numbers of people unanimously going next and flat out DCing theres going to be big nerfs on the way regardless of any counter that might exist.

i kinda see the issue with this killer, its got speed, 0 cooldown, a range attack, that add on that survivors start out infected is brutal. its a killer primed for tunneling and slugging. my counter of hatch seems to work ok. my team mates can go next if they want but i will just get hatch when they do lol.

im surprised people are surprised by this, every killer they release is broken and end up being fixed further down the line. its the bhvr way, we all know this, why would people play a killer thats awful? they wont so they buff it beyond belief to get people playing the new killer.

  • being a p100 myers main, im not really interested in the new myers. going against him has been a breeze. he doesnt feel like a threat liek he used to, i dont intend to go through that as killer playing him.

  • @Ghosti1521 said:

I just want to hear others feelings about new myers. Cuz for me after 5 games is just pure pallet destroyer. Is he stronger? Yeah ofc. Is he fun? NO. its the most boring ahh gameplay i've ever witnessed in that game. Even tho im playing since 2018… Like the dash is. Not original…. Its just something. Idk what to even say. He's 100% better than before and i love concept of 3 modes but he's just. boring af. [Yeah ik about addon that turns him into old myers but im talking about the basekit]

i dont think myers is stronger. i have only played against him so far but from a survivor point of view hes pretty tame and still highly dependant on the right map. i used to enjoy tombstone myers where he felt like a real threat, not knowing if hes ready to pop it from stalking others or if hes building it from me, on a gen locking for the nearest locker incase he turns up from out of nowhere. you have to be pretty stupid to get in old myers face and tbag him. new myers is just another lunge killer which can be easily countered with pallets and vaults, and if you fail then its ok because he just hooks you. personally i dont feel threatened by new myers like i did against the old one.

It take like one extra brain cells to remember who's on deathhook even if it's not it still doesn't matter

maybe but still a long shot from the anti tunnel this update was supposed to be. if the point is to prevent tunneling so survivors are not taken out super fast then even if a random encounter with 2 players of the same skin would help the killer prioritise who to eliminate first. not hard tunneling but still pushes the killer to pick their target. i know who im going to pick in that situation, the one with more hook states. without the hook state being visable it was pot luck which of them has more hook states. not anymore, will aid in killer choosing to eliminate the weaker one. it can help killers know which one not to target which was needed in the ptb so the killer didnt get punished for tunneling but i honestly think it can be used to tunnel/target a single player out the match now the ptb changes didnt go through.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

Its the same conditions as before. They have to be on their feet and grabbed when you do it. Like traditional tombstone.

so they made a notoriously difficult achievement even harder? same conditions as before but now have to get 8 hooks to be able to pull it off and people can still deny the tombstone out of spite with lockers?

seeing hook states as killer is a nothing burger if a killer wanted to Tunnel they would make sure to remember who's on deathhook

thats the point, now they dont have to remember. as a tunneler myself i can be pretty sure not having to remember or think about my tunneling will help slightly. i will test it out over the next few days and see if it helps but im pretty sure it will.

  • i have been against a couple of rework myers now and as survivor i hate the rework. i miss old tombstone where myers felt like a threat you had to avoid, you know like a killer should be. now he just feels so tame.

The update basically says: don’t play solo-queue Survivor; grab the new DLC and a couple of skins, then queue as Killer.

And, from a sales perspective, that playbook works every time.

hey im playing solo survivor fine. hatch offering helps big time. last match i escaped and 2 others waited by the gates and the 4th survivor was being chased by the killer, they went to the shack and luckily the 2 at the gate left which meant the 4th at the shack could get out through hatch.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

what exactly is this update supposed to be saying?

Pretty sure the clear message is if you don't like the changes, then threatening to leave, blowing up the forums, and review bombing the game are the only effective ways to get the devs to listen to you.

Because asking politely "hey, can this go next mechanic not punish people for being tunneled" or "maybe we shouldn't nerf OTR until the other anti tunnel features land", while reasonable feedback, are completely ignored.

i said it before, devs wont listen or care if people complain because lets face it people will complain about everything and anything. if its not fun then dont play. its a company like any other, if people continue to play while not enjoying it then why would they change it? this has been the pattern with survivor behaviour for years, complain about literally everything but continue to play the game and say its a miserable experience.

personally, i used to be survivor main, then killer main, now im more 50 50 maybe slightly more survivor sided the past couple months. i find fun in both roles, and if i dont then i simply dont play that role. if both roles became unfun i would simply quit the game and keep an eye out for any improvements that might bring back me back at a later point. But some people are so blindly loyal and dedicated to this game that they will endure months or years of horrific gameplay hoping their polite requests will be fulfilled.

Unless both survivors are the same survivor wearing the same cosmetics this isn't really an issue. Showing hookstates to the killer doesn't really matter to killers who don't care about tunneling. It purely benefits killers who are trying to spread their hooks out.

This is the same reason why when I play survivor I always switch if someone picks the same survivor as me. It does nothing to confuse tunneling killers since tunneling killers don't care, it only confuses killers who are trying not to tunnel.

it remains to be seen, but im willing to bet it will help me know who to target. i will need to test it out more but im almost certain in some situations (not all) it can benefit a tunneler which is the opposite to what this update was supposed to be about.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4004873#Comment_4004873

    Oh, I see.

Nah, I still disagree. The only detail that actually matters in that scenario is them having the same skin- if they're different in any way you already knew who to prioritise anyway. I'll grant it technically does make tunnelling slightly easier (though not much, you still have to pick one and wait for the chase indicator to fade on the other), but only in a very hyper specific niche scenario.

I just don't see it making an appreciable difference overall.

true different skin then ye it wouldnt make a difference but there are so many people out there especially in swf that go same sailer seagull steve skin. loads of times i have had multiple sables with minor differences which can be hard to spot in the heat of the chase. doesnt help much, but it does give an indicator if im chasing the wrong one before i commit fully and lose the original target. if the hud shows im chasing the wrong one i leave them and go for the other one which is still injured so shouldnt be hard to find/hear. my point is that an update that was supposed to be anti tunnel/anti slug has turned into a pro tunnel update, even if the changes only help a little.

same with the slugging abandon option, i dont even even need to hook them, i can just down them repeatedly and try get survivors to abandon. when they turn into a bot, hook them and go after the real threats. lets face is bots a useless so any situation that turns players to bots will benefit the killer.

As in, the injured survivor is on death hook but wasn't recently unhooked?

That's just flat out not tunnelling, it's light target prioritisation. Nothing wrong with that.

no i mean recently unhooked, ran away from the hook to heal, killer follows scratch marks and find 2 injured survivors healing. as killer i now know which one to chase and which one to ignore. might not be hard tunneling instantly off the hook, maybe 3 seconds off the hook? pretty much tunneling a player out fast while ignoring all other players which i thought was the issue people were complaining about. its all good to me, i hard tunnel at 5 gens every time so this makes it easier for me but even i can see this is a pro tunneling update that makes tunneling easier

  • @jesterkind said:

I don't think the visible hook states actually matters here, if you're tunnelling someone you already know who you're targeting, it's the person that just got off the hook.

The nerf to OTR is the more relevant thing here, and it definitely isn't a good idea. Hoping for a hotfix reversion of some kind on that front.

not always, if i leave the hook area then see 2 survivors both injured both same skin but 1 is on death hook and the other hasnt been hooked at all. then it can help determine which one to target. might not be hard tunneling straight off the hook but it can help to tunnel out 1 player fast

  • all the better to tunnel you with lmao

  • maybe the devs are moving away from the boring scooby doo circle loop chases that people seem to do.

  • This update seems to encourage tunneling and slugging…. tunnel off the hook now easier than ever and it rewards tunneling a slugged survivor too by downing them when healed so they abandon. easy bot opponent.

crazy that bhvr stance seems to be people can play toxic and if you dont like it just abandon instead of actually fixing the issue 😂 atleast i know where i stand.

1 … 21 22 23 24 25 … 27
