    "destroy lobby"

    wut?

They only did one gen before all dead because they kept trying to loop the basement

  • This is why I run blood warden lol once scored a 3k because 2 decided to be dicks like that with under a min left get one with a hatchet and grabbed before they ran hooked and boom insta save and me just nodding at them as the entity kills them

Wasn't there a glitch with prestige a while back where you could prestige but keep your inventory and the devs were banning people for it and wiping their progress? Not surprising they're banning for this. Cosmetics are very special to the devs.

And of course gameplay glitches usually go unpunished and are just fixed in a patch. I can't remember the last time they banned people for that instead of just fixing it. It might have been the Legion infinite mending bug.

yup the infinite mending bug definitely falls under hostage taking as you could force a dc by making them mend constantly

remember me i said it first.

    introduction:

someday the DS nerf will happen BUT at the same time, they will introduce a new BS mechanic to punish killers in a way. that the nerf wont even matter anymore.

the balance team at DBD were never EVER straight forward, and i have been here for years, i have 1800 hrs, i know couple of things.

    couple of good changes:

now im not saying there was no positive changes at all, but pay attention, those changes that were positive and happened in the past, were essential and A MUST HAVE changes in the game, for an example infinite loops, ( that should have never been in the game in the first place).

an other change that was a must have change, was spirits silent teleport, also it should have never been in the game i get it.

couple of failed attempts: ( and DS will be in this list when the so called nerf takes place)

and here is a single example of a change they brought in, had potential , did nothing, (end game collapse.) ( it did buff blood warden, that was the only good thing it did) but didnt do WHAT IT WAS MEANT TO DO.

why did it come to dbd along with, now the hatch will spawn if you are the last survivor. even if all 5 gens are up.

why wouldnt it start when last gen is done, why would survivors be able to 99 doors, and control when to start the counter.

some might say " well johnny, you can open the door as a killer if you want and force the EGC" why would i have to do that.

    real gameplay example:

ok now i have a single survivor cornered, all gens popped. he is injured, and i can smell his blood, im trying to mind game him left and right, he is a great runner,BUT no more pallets are in that corner of the map. hold on fellow survivor, let me go and open the door, and come back to you and continue. is that how its supposed to be in their mind lol.

here is an other example of a change coming in after ptb, now the clown has yellow piss bottles, again it did something, im thankful i play clown alot, but it didnt fix the main issue with clown, ( which they are aiming at doing) they just made him better and stronger in 1v1 chases. he didnt need that, he was already one of the best, if not THE BEST m1 killer to down survivors fast.

i can go on and on, with examples all day long. but i think you get the point, dont be so excited about the DS changes that someday in the future will come.

It’s honestly a easy change just limit how ds triggers boom done if you in a locker it won’t turn on if your grabbed from it deliberately taking a protection hit to trigger it nope your hooked for trying to force it

Thanks Zagrid for the heads up.

Simple the skin design is pay for only and is leased out to behaviour and dbd by Konami would you want people exploiting Konami stuff knowing they would sue you into the ground

  • I’d also say live stream it or post to YouTube so people know who they are if people are gonna hostage take then they should be known

  • I’ve had 2 both times no unbreakable no no mither equipped and running soul guard and I’ve no hex perks active and no one to pick them up suddenly they get up by themselves and escape the question is how do they get up without anything to help them and last one either alive or not hooked

I'm a horrible person but i run insidious for one play that i use once per match.

I get victor out and control charlotte but it looks like I'm controlling victor and camp 1 survivor once hit the huy coming for the rescue and get a free chase. It's a little dirty but also really funny because they dont see it coming, which is why i only do it once per match. Might not work so well anymore now that they've been out for a while.

I had 2 games where people sent me really angry messages and about 10 where someone congratulated me on a really nice trick.

Ooooo do you mean the hide victor under the hook strategy

Some of the challenges can be done via normal gameplay, it is just difficult.

However, nothing says you have to participate in "normal gameplay" when going for a challenge.

The way I've gotten a lot of the "in one game" Killer challenges is to be a "nice Killer", that means one who isn't attacking the Survivors. It can be a little hard to convey that you don't want to hurt people when you can't talk with them but a lot of times if you get someone in a chase and they run out into an open area and you run alongside them and then overtake them without taking the hit and just run backwards facing them most people will 'get' that you're not playing a normal game. If they stop running and just stand there looking at you don't take the hit, 'nod' by looking up and down and then lead them to a near by pallet if there is one, or to the closest gen. If they don't start working on the gen right away give it a hit with your weapon and if they don't stop working on the gen pick them up, drop them, kick the gen and pick them back up again, 'shaking' back and forth if they don't immediately start to struggle. That's how I got my "Damage the same gen five times" challenge done along with various other "in the same Trial" ones. I also do this if at least one BPS or Gateau has been offered up and turn a "normal game" into a "BP farming game" instead.

If you want to do the challenge the "intended" way, that is via "normal gameplay" then just never chase or hook anyone, which, really, also isn't "normal gameplay" but isn't as 'odd' as being a "Nice Killer". Just always chase Survivors off gens, don't chase, kick it and move on to the next one nearby. You can even just double back because most times a Survivors won't run too far from the gen they were just on if you don't chase them. That tends to only works a few times before they wise up and move on to another one though. Perks like Brutal Strength and Fire Up, later in the game, help here as does things like Discordance and Surveillance or any of the various other perks relating to gens.

I, to, struggled with a lot of these challenges until I cottoned on to the best ways to be a "Nice Killer" and have the Survivors work with me instead of against me in my main goal. Just be ready to de-pip, though I often at least safety-pip if I can get in one hook on everyone after having been "nice" for a long while and making it very obvious I'm just wanting one hook each by walking away from the hook after putting someone up there. Heck, often times I'll get Survivor volunteering to be hooked by standing in front of one and pointing at it over and over. I get my hooks for BP and other Survivors get their safe unhooks for BP, everyone wins.

I got this as clown one game as 3 gens right next to each other on auto haven 3 gen start easy contro ah good times I got 3 k from it thanks to warden endgaming 2 of them

there are two reasons for this

1: This is the memory in the perspective of Julie

what I mean is that this is the memories that Julie recalls, as it seems that he focused more on herself and Frank, with Susie and Joey being in the background. so maybe her mind made her think that she did the killing blow.

2: This is a memory from an alternate timeline

This isn't far fetched, the Entity Roams the multiverse and it's possible that it can find memories of the killers and survivors with different lives, or things being slightly different, evidence is that the Observer gotten memories of Claudette with memories that doesn't match with the one in the realm. meaning that the Entity is capable of getting memories from the same person in different universes.

It's possible that the memories we saw form Julie is an alternative timeline to how the incident happened, with them having different masks and Julie making the killing blow before Joey and Susie get their part.

    Now that’s cool

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1881280#Comment_1881280

Yeah. We have a couple of perks already that need to 'charge' (current diversion for example) and DS could have the same. like you get unhooked, a timer on it starts if you get knocked down (or hit and then knocked down with BT) withint that time, DS activates.

I think that'd be the fairest change

Yup that way it’s kinda obvious they have it as they actively try to be hit

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1881064#Comment_1881064

With dynamic perks a lot of things would be 'easier' to balance I think. sure, it's be a lot of work beforehand, but at bottomline... for example:

If you have borrowed time DS could only trigger if you took a protection hit (and get engaged in a chase.) Because DS has such a bad reputation due to people abusing it to mock the other player more often than it is actually used to punish them for unfair play (tunneling)

That’s another thing ds should only proc in a chase after being unhooked or slugged

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

The 'best' way to overhaul DS would be having dynamic perks: perks that change their behaviour if certain other perks are attached. In DS' case this might mean:

if you have DS + Unbreakable DS lasts shorter and you can't use UB until it runs out.

Now that’s a good change my idea was if you take a protection hit or hide in a locker it turns off and so you can’t force it being used by acting as a diversion or taking a hit deliberately

I don't see how Exhaustion is a game-breaking mechanic. It literally does nothing at all, NOTHING AT ALL, if the Survivor is not running an Exhaustion perk and Adrenaline doesn't even count.

If anyone thinks it is game-breaking, maybe people have become too reliant on Exhaustion perks.

But no no, you go ahead. Tell me more about the crutch perk issues with NOED and Undying.

Because survivors dont do bones and blame it on killers when it’s a easy counter

Thanks for reminding me to lv up clown for coulrophobia

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

Not against optimal survivors and even with the extra penalties it doesn't add up to much.

The problem with dying light is simply that unless you get truly lucky and get like 4 hooks before 1-2 gens get done the perk simply doesn't do enough. sure you can get decent stalling with it and thano if survivors are not healing and you have gotten a lot of hooks but that's usually when you get to the last gens but at that point survivors are working together on gens more so it negates the combo more or less and again it's assuming they are not healing.

True but it still pays off when you know how to play them

So when a killer notices and actually helps the dude who deserves some mercy, its such a good feeling.

    Nice to hear.

Np plus they helped me get my 2 gen grab challenge done but yer I’ve had games where I’ve not gone for a hook (mostly camping 1hit killers like bubba mikey ghost face any killer that gets 3 token devour hope) rarely make it out sometimes I do if I’m lucky on a hatch spawn or something.

my 2 best ever escapes by myself 1 against a Michal that took out my entire team and camped them got a hatch show up next to my gen and the other time a hag had 3 token dh and I got a gate escape

Lol. Every time you lose in a video game it’s not cheating sorry.

Soul guard gives BT no matter what when you get picked up, hex or not

Really because the description says you can get the effect if a hex is active or did they change it edit just read it and my bad there but can I at least call it out as a cheat when people are getting up without unbreakable no one to help them up and no hex’s active

  • @Yords said:

Borrowed time: A common and popular anti-tunnel perk mainly. I guess it could be argued to also be anti-camp.

Unbreakable: The most powerful anti-slug perk for the fact that you won't need a teammate to pick you up and also receive a passive recovery speed bonus.

DS: The most popular anti-tunnel perk for the fact that it lasts a full minute and can be abused.

WGLF: A more balanced anti-slug or perk that helps immensely to mitigate the effects of slugging or at least make it much harder to slug effectively.

For the people: An anti-slug or anti-tunnel perk; can be used quite interchangeably. However, I feel like this is good in terms of fairness and balance when compared to the rest.

Flip-flop: A very situational perk since it requires you to be slugged for 30 seconds or so to get full use out of it. But it is still a perk that mitigates slugging.

Adrenaline: The most balanced exhaustion perk that can punish either slugging or tunneling. It allows survivors to reset themselves much faster.

Soul guard: It is pretty situational, but of course powerful.

I’ve found that people have found a way to use a cheat or something with soul guard to prop it’s bt effect when there’s no hex’s in play it’s honestly frustrating when people do that

2 out of 3 give infinite recoveries with certain conditions. 2 out of 3 come on default characters (on Steam), one is a licensed DLC.

Plus there are 3 other survivors that can help, and perks to help them do it faster.

Deep wounds is a pretty useless status effect to get in exchange for a free recovery.

Infinite unbreakable is no mither. The infinite recoveries come at a cost of being perma-injured.

Which can be combined with tenacity unbreakable and soul guard for infinite fast pickups

Once, with alot of practise and perseverance, I was an efficient and accurate huntress player.

Scoring hatchet hits from close mid and even far. Survivors jukes at close range would be very easy to hatchet. Loops would be predicted well and hit them at pallets and window vaults.

Once a huntress main who wouldnt miss many hatchets, possibly every 2 hatchets maybe 3.

However, whenever I play a killer for too long, the skills dry out, the playstyle I once scored with is countered easily.

I once missed 15 hatchets in a single row before a hit. I'd miss vault shots, get predicted at loops. Miss over loop shots. Struggle with jukes at close range. And most importantly my accuracy, hitting walls, rocks and other obstacles.

You may say, 'keep practising', 'takes a little more practise' 'let them juke into the hatchet'.... I've tried it all, its not like I havnt put all my time and effort into her before. I've just lost her touch guys, it happens to the best of us.

I have yet to get a single kill with her in the last few days....i think it's time for a break...

I hope to play you again some other time ❤️

P.S this post is just to remind myself of the struggles with huntress and that she will always be one of my favourite killers. If you have any words of encouragement, then try me...

I know your struggle my friend she’s my main as well and some days I have good days and bad days

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/MUW5I1BS3ZWD/image.png

One up clicky healing on pallets head on and hiding in locker for a ds only to waste it and at end game being killed and triggering warden feels soooo good

  • @DwightFairfield said:

I do hope that whatever the devs do to d-strike, that it would still be an anti tunnel perk.

I say this as if they were to simply, say, remove decisive strike from the game, there would be no penalty to tunneling, and killers would tunnel directly off hook, which is not very fun.

Regardless of the changes made, I hope they don't remove it from circulation or nerf it to oblivion, as if they did that then tunneling could flourish.

I’ve already said but all they need to do is deactivate it if a protection hit goes off there in a locker for a set amount of time or they are healed boom now it’s purely being targeted it works as A your trying to get away so being aggressive or taking a hit for another goes against it B once you heal it’s 2 hits to down that shouldn’t be a excuse to a free escape C no more hiding in lockers to avoid a killer or trying to bait them into a grab

  • @Aztreonam78 said:

The exact same reason is why devs nerfed moris without announcing.

If devs showed key nerfs in the PTB patch notes or announced the significant key changes in some other way, some players would say "KEYS ARE USELESS NOW!1" and would start using all of them before the patch is released. Some time ago they made a mistake and shew Styptic and Syringe changes on he PTB, which resulted in multiple people instahealing themselves during regular matches in live version.

Developers made a very wise decision nerfing moris with no warning, and I am sure they will do the same thing (or almost the same) with keys, we just should wait a little bit.

Still, it doesn't explain why they don't touch Decisive.

Easy change to ds if it’s from a locker grab window vault or they score a protection hit it won’t trigger it only triggers if the killer tunnels off the bat

Devs reduced Reload time, buffed addons, added a new (optional) tool for you to get a survivor, if you use it SMART.

    BUT YOU STILL BITCHING!

Even rn I’m thinking baiting them into running a wall with the speed boost the amount of times I’ve tested myself into a corner from a hit and got caught because of it
