  • Bloodhunt bringing more killers but they're also using the new version of matchmaking they tested on PTB awhile ago.

  • Wait what? This is about camping an EXIT GATE?

    Urm... o.o

Yeah, a few things actually :), 1. RBTS that are not active should have a 25% action penalty on survivors, so there is a reason to get rid of them, or to buy her more time if people just 99 gens, 2. Reduce the time it takes to get up so she can actually mind game pallets with crouch like ghostface. 3. I want RBTS to change to you hook a survivor instead so it feels like I have control over the rbts like she does in the movies. 4. Change her to roar after the ambush has started. 5. she should be able to see the auras of survivors who are removing an RBT. 6. RBT's should pause in heartbeat due to #5, and 7. make it to where you have to search a mininum of 1 jigsaw box before it comes off, its really ######### you use it to apply pressure and comes off on the 1st box.

These are all solid except for the aura one. I agree with Pemberly that it'll just encourage the Pig tunnelers which goes against Amanda in general

  • There's an internal cool down for protection hits as a whole. It's why multiple survivors can't get a stack off a single injured survivor.

  • PTB usually has horrid queue times because a lot of people just stay on live and the streamers tend to KYF instead.

As for live, yeah I hate the new killer queue system. Always have.

  • People will DC for any reason. This just proves Legion wasn't the real issue in causing people to just DC on a killer they don't like. I feel like the streamers glorifying it did. And now that mentality is cemented along with no punishment.

  • Easy for me to juke a Huntress and Nurse. Harder to deal with a Doctor / Plague

  • No.

First, I'd rather keep my controls normal, tyvm. Inverted controls seems like a bad direction and annoying as hell to deal with.

Second, this would actually be pretty weak for a hex totem. Random affliction is subject to RNG on top of the RNG for totems to begin with. Plus I imagine this totem would be lit from the start.

Third, let's say you get to 5 tokens. Survivors can go into their settings menu midgame to invert their controls from there. That'd basically make things normal.

It's kind of like if Exhaustion perks had a 50% chance of working when they were supposed too.

Except it's not because exhaustion perks were never built around risk/reward anyway. That's not a good comparison.

  • You choose it. It's meta but you absolutely do choose to use it and subject yourself to that kind of RNG. I already agreed that totems need fixing but that doesn't change the fact you're gambling with Ruin

  • Totem spawns do suck and hex totems as a whole need fixing but you know full well you run that risk when you run those perks. It's feast or famine with Ruin, that's how it always has been.

  • I liked someone's idea where the more people escape, the more survival points each survivor gets. If all 4 escape, you get 8k survival. 3, 7k. 2, 6k. And then 5k.

  • Yes we did need a system to cancel the game from loading. 3 man lobbies on start up were one of the worst things in this game.

DC's are annoying and will eventually be dealt with but yes we did NEED game cancel.

  • RNG is fickle. You don't tend to "get one every other bloodweb". I've gone 300k+ points before getting one when I ran out, not to mention you need scratched mirror on top of it. It makes sense Myers has immunity because of his drawbacks. The others can still operate as standard m1 killers.

  • Mixed for me as both. Maybe it's just my luck but as Survivor I keep getting moris and best add on killers.

As killer I keep getting 4m toolboxes and Mettle/DS. I bring Franklin's for the toolboxes.

I can kinda understand Mettle since next week is happening.

  • That's the solo life

  • I thought this would've been about the actual, kind of annoying unbroken issue where you live until literally the end of the match, gates opened, and get 49% survival time, downgrading it to Bronze.

But nope. Iridescent = Never downed. Take it or leave it

  • It doesn't affect her ambush. I don't think unrelenting does, either

  • 1) Yes it does affect FF vault speed, according to my Legion main friend. And it definitely blocks the window.

    2) The two best comboes seem to be Stolen Sketchbook / Susie's mixtape and Stolen Sketchbook / Ruler. Iridescent Button is good as well. The fatigue combo is okay but not as good as the other comboes IMO. Frank's Mix tape and Stab Wounds Study are garbage though.

  • Could be used to give a teammate your med kit or something, if you could drop it. That's fine by me

  • Lots of complaints about killer blocking it for EGC in particular. Hostage situations were bannable, blocking basement for timers to expire were not.

why the hell would some random person be the obsession, unless you haven't been listening/watching any of the dev streams, they have explained how obsession perks work, and how one becomes the obsession. if the killer is using an obsession perk, and 1 survivor is is too, then that survivor will be the obsession at the start of the game, if only the survivor is using an obsession perk, then they will be the obsession at the start, if there are no obsession perks being used, then no-one will be the obsession at the start. If only the killer is using an obsession perk, then the obsession will be randomly chosen. if there are more then 1 survivors using an obsession perk ( it doesn't matter if the killer does or doesn't use an obsession perk in this scenario) then the obsession will be chosen based on how many perks they each use, for example, if 1 survivor uses mettle of man, and the other uses mettle of man, and object of obsession, then the chance for each survivor will be 1:2, or 33% and 66% for the survivors, and this is how the obsession is chosen between the survivors. if you read the bottom of a perk, and it says, "increases your chance to be the obsession" then it is an obsession perk, and that is it. And now since d-strike does not increase your chance to be obsession anymore, then it isn't an obsession perk anymore. also, if you are playing survivor and someone becomes the obsession and your using ds, then either the killer, or other survivors are using an obsession perk, as you didn't affect the obsession chance at all.

Because I've played the game and had it happen to me. I didn't have an obsession perk, or DS. Killer didn't either. One of my teammates did have DS and yet I was the obsession. This was when DS got changed to its current form as well.

  • @Mister_xD said:

DS is not affected by Enduring.

Soon DS won't be affected yeah. Right now it certainly is though

  • Yes. Survivor is just pronounced because it's 4 in 1 game.

  • Do you seriously think Plague is weaker than Freddy? I've seen the Legion arguments but not Plague. She's leaps and bounds better than Freddy because you can just puke on someone and leave them to try and puke on everyone. They either cleanse or stay broken entire game. Survivors can deny your corrupt purge, sure, but Apple add on should be considered and if you pop your fountain while everyone is broken, theyre most likely going to start cleansing.

And she's 4.6 and doesn't need to sleep people.

  • Use it. DS is fair and balanced now other than endgame with exit gates open.

  • The archives have me more excited than any other thing in this game so far. I'm just a sucker for lore

  • I ADORE hit and run Wraith with Sloppy and Surveillance. Especially if you have either of the clapper addons. They pretty much must heal or otherwise risk getting an easy down and they're just so unsure of where you are all the time.

It'll be even better once Mettle gets needed, but Object still destroys it. This build is best on Lerys.

But yeah Wraith in general is pretty fun and his addons make him versatile

  • @Keanuqwerty said:

if your not running any obsession perks, and nor are the survivors, then no-one will be the obsession, its not a bug. and d-strike isnt an obsession perk anymore, it only makes you obsession after you use it.

No, if there is no obsession then there isn't a DS. If there is a single DS in the game, someone will be the obsession, even if it isn't the actual DS user. That's why I think there should always be an obsession in the game because if there isn't, you're guaranteed no DS or Mettle

  • The reason you get it immediately is because you are affected by it because of the missed skillcheck penalty %. A simple "fix" would make it not notify until someone actually fails a check

  • @Atrushan88 said:

Try being a survivor and playing 3 bloody party streamers back to back to have the killer DC EVERY time you play one of them, and losing every single one and barely getting crap for it.

    DC's suck on both sides.

  • If you didn't have an obsession whatsoever in the game, it's a bug.

Otherwise you don't need to be THE obsession to use DS, and it changes the obsession when landed.

I've never heard of this bug though

  • Or just wait 4ish mins till you bleed or he comes back to you. I can agree with a suicide option but you aren't forced to DC. They just want to prevent the hatch. Boring but whatever

  • If survivors exit the game via the menu and leave match, they lose their items and it'll make the sacrifice sound when they DC. They no longer lose pips for this.

If they pull their plug, they get the DC icon but no sound is played. They keep their items for this even if they do it mid-death animation, and pip/depip as regularly.

    Dedicated can't come soon enough.

  • Bloodlust doesn't need any sort of buff. It's a nice idea but not needed and as Poweas said hopefully they make the game not need it anymore.

  • Has the current system been in game since the start? DBD launched on June 14th and turns 3 this year, yes?

12x3 = 36 months therefore 36 seasons have passed if this system has been since launch.

So Season 37 in 4 days.

  • Oh hi Harry. It's been a bit since I've seen one of your posts.

But anyway, I agree with giving survivors more BP / having BP caps raised or "bleed over" for all categories. Other than that, survivor already is pretty fun imo unless we get into lag / DC issues and wonky hotboxes.

Your second point, though, no. DC'ing does need punishments if it is done too often. Suiciding on hook also ruins games (I've had it happen plenty), but at the very least killer gets their stacks, points, whatever. I cant really see how they'd punish suicides though.

  • Deathgarden and World of Warcraft, I guess. Plus more time to focus on Stellaris.

  • @pungent_stench said:

the initial screen may say depip but it comes back once leaving post game menu.

Not always. Usually for me and my friend the depip is very real.

It sucks for both sides. Not just one.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure the rank rework would fix this issue but I would hope we wouldn't have to wait that long for what seems like it would be a simple fix. Dedicated will definitely deter disconnecting, but I do wonder if it would actually fix it.

    David seems a bit unsteady.

Perfect name for this topic BTW.

But yeah wouldn't Ace have had a gambling addiction? And Feng had some parent problems and a videogame addiction that may have led to an inferiority complex or atleast super unhealthy obsession.

  • @SoylentPixie said:

Can we all just step back and agree that DC's simply suck all round, or are we still too busy deciding who is in the right and who said what first. When a thread like this devolves into an argument the point gets lost. If you wanna have it out, i'm pretty sure you can scribble on each others walls.

Honestly, this whole "Well survivors / killers do it so..." Just sucks and makes people look like kids. PEOPLE dc, whether survivor or killer and that's the hard fact. Yesterday alone i had 8 survivor dc's and 7 killer dc's, all of them rage quits or someone not wanting to play a certain map / killer.

The other side doing it isn't an excuse. If someone chooses to DC, it's on them not the other sides behaviour, and the issue of loss of points goes both ways. I've lost points / pips as killer and in some cases i have lost points and even items / offerings as a survivor.

The whole killer and survivor divide is not a free pass. People need to be responsible for their own actions. Nobody can make someone take that responsibility i know, but pointing the finger as an excuse is just bullpoop.

Exactly. DC's as a whole screw everyone over and is made worse by the entire "Survivor side vs killer side" overlay. I agree with both your points

@rch614 And I apologize for jumping the gun. I never noticed the 10% past the safety or depip since I usually get 2 more after that then I let the last one farm and have hatch because it stops being a match after 2. Even after 1 DC's, I just 2 hook because I know I'll depip or safety so I rather just try and get bps. I understand that, but the points that we do get is nothing. Just meager crap and since the DC usually just instantly ######### us, I just give up. Besides, who goes try hard on a 3-man team? Just not worth the time. I do know that it use to be 10 points in Devout for Iridescent and a DC grants 2 but I thought they changed the amounts on the last PTB so I wasn't sure if it was still possible to get anything higher than Silver so I wanted to ask Peanits. I agree that a survivor should get a little compensation. I think 1000 BPs in Survival and adds enough to get Silver in that emblem, 2 DC's guarantees Gold and 3 gives Iridescent, whether you live or die. I think it would be nice so the killer can still kill you but you don't get ######### by the DC's and neither does he. What do you think? Same goes for killer when it comes to DC's. 1000 BPs per DC.

I'd really like that system yeah. Even when dedicated comes out and deters dc's, we'll still have people do it and screw over games. This system would be great.

  • @AStupidMonkeyy said:

@Peanits I tried looking it up but I'm pretty sure that if you get 2 DC's and 2 sacrifices, you can only get Silver in the emblem system, correct? Because the DC doesn't actually give you Devout (It seems it does give you 2 points in it but it still doesn't count as an actual sacrifice since it give you points in malice instead) so Gold and Iridescent is impossible currently from a DC? Or am I wrong? Just wanted to verify it. Thank you. Seems you were right partially so far, @rch614 but I want to ask Peanits before I go on since I just looked stuff up but nothing came back to my question. I don't want to be wrong with my statement so I want to get more facts first. So far, 2 DC's still depip you nomatter what and if I'm not mistaken, 1 DC prevents Gold and Iridescent because it GIVES you 2 points in Devout but it doesn't actually count it as a "Sacrifice" at the end of the game. I could be wrong so I'm just waiting on Peanits.

@AStupidMonkeyy That's fair. But I wasn't arguing that killers can't / don't depip from dc's. My argument is that killers at least do get some kind of compensation that more often than not at least safeties them. Survivor gets none whatsoever

  • I'll get a screenshot next time I make someone DC but let's take a quick trip to the wiki, shall we?

    https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Emblems

The goal of this Emblem is to receive as many points as possible:

Points received for sacrificing a Survivor: 2 Points

Points received for killing a Survivor: 2 Points

Points received for a Survivor that disconnected: 2 Points

Points received for bleeding-out a Survivor: 0 Points

    Special Conditions:

Having hooked each Survivor at least once will award a Bronze Emblem.

Sacrificing 2 or 3 Survivors will award a Silver Emblem.

Sacrificing all Survivors will award a Gold Emblem.

Sacrificing all Survivors AND having achieved a total of 9 Hooks will award an Iridescent Emblem.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/517333#Comment_517333

@rch614 No, they actually don't? They get points in malicious. No points in devout, which usually ends in a depip at high ranks. Get your facts straight please and thank you.

@AStupidMonkeyyFunny you try to correct me when YOURE wrong. I've had 10% Devout per DC. Get off me. And even if I was wrong? Point still stands. You get compensation.

    Nice try.

  • @Jdsgames said:

Well what if I told you disconnecting as a survivor can yield the same result to the killer?

This is true. However killers DO get compensation for survivor disconnects. It literally gives them points in Devout under "Survivor Disconnections".

As far as I can tell, survivors don't get that kind of compensation. You get whatever you did in the match up to that point.

Both of these need to be fixed anyway, but people need to stop using stuff like this as an argument.
