Yeah it can be rough on both sides playing against tryhards, I just try to do my best and move on to the next round.

Yeah, as long as I get some good loops in I'm satisfied but it's just so demotivating seeing your team drop like flies. Seeing gens fly as killer also does so I'm mixing it up a bit and trying to find a main I'll spend all my time on instead of randomising.

And that’s where part of the problem lies as well, the massive gap that exists between solo que and swf. They refuse to address swf, I believe it was brought up recently in one of their streams.

So what is the killer more likely to do here? They can either assume it’s a solo queue squad and play fair and get absolutely demolished and teabagged at the exit gate when it does end up being a swf, or they can play to win from the jump expecting a strong team and it possibly being overkill.

Swf is one of the biggest glaring issues and why it’s so difficult to balance the game well. Solo and swf almost feels like a completely different game. They refuse to address swf, so I definitely don’t expect killers to stop playing the way they do any time soon.

You can’t address things like camping and tunneling without addressing any of the reasons that killers are doing those things. If you want to make it to where the killer can not tunnel, slug, camp, or three gen you need to make it to where they don’t need to. Simple as that.

They don't need to slug someone until they nearly bleed out and pretend to hump them just to mori them and go for the 4k. I get leaving the area so I can pick up the slugged survivor but standing on top of them so it's a death wish to try? Just toxic time wasting that cannot be justified.

  • @Malkhrim said:

Honestly, when playing as killer, it seems there are far more sweaty matches than usual. DbD always had a bit of a randomness where you never knew if you would face a chill match, an extremely easy match, a fun but challenging match or a ridiculously stressful match where survivors play almost flawlessly, do gens in the most fast and efficient way possible and also bring the strongest stuff they can, the best perks, BNPs, Syringes, Styptics and even map offerings. Well, the last one is happening almost all the time recently, and I think it's happening due to the matchmaking changes that made it more strict to MMRs close to yours.

If only my teammates reflected my MMR I'd be fine with the tunneling but that's not the case. Those fun games always give a glimmer of hope that gets extinguished the very next game where you just stare at your screen in disappointment as you hear two gens pop with one survivor injured...

  • Hook denial versus Trapper is really effective unfortunately. I don't see what else you could do apart from slugging everyone to death... Then again that would take a ton of time. It's why I stopped playing Trapper so regularly.

I'm maining killers for a certain time and then switch to another. I've gone through pig, blight, huntress, deathslinger, chucky and now singularity xD

I've gone through Trapper, Deathslinger, Blight, Pyramid Head, and Wesker. I'm now onto Spirit so it's pretty fun.

  • @Bartolomeo87 said:

I’d say that’s partly due to the mmr changes and the fact that it’s the only strategies killers have left vs a strong team. A team that just sits on gens and is also at least decent at looping will not give you nearly enough time for a 12 hook game.

Tunneling, camping, occasional slugging, three gens, these are all things that are done in comp dbd because it’s shown to be the only effective hope of winning vs a team that’s as strong as you are on killer. The difference is that the objective speed for survivor is ridiculously faster than the objective speed for killer.

So imo until they make changes to the overall safety of tiles, the gen speed, the map size, or add a secondary objective for survivors killers will continue to be inclined to play this way. Well either that or they just continue nerfing everything that the killer has to actually have a chance to win vs a strong team because “it’s not fun for survivors” until the killer is just complete bully food against a competent four man.

Well my solo queue team is far from strong and I'm usually the only one left with 2-3 gens remaining. They tunnel automatically and I don't see the fun in that especially when they are guaranteed a 3k. The personality has been swept away from them.

  • @KatsuhxP said:

    @mikewelk

I'm able to get 1-2 kills more or less consistent, but its brutal to get more than this. Well i play singularaty at the moment and I don't play him very much, maybe thats why xD

No, it's just really rough in general. If you don't have a specific killer main you're super good with, 1-2 kills is a really good spot. Keep grinding and results will show!

  • @Hex_Ignored said:

the goal of the HUD was to bridge the massive gap between soloq and swf so being able to remove it would widen that gap again, which is the last thing the game needs

100%. If that happened I wouldn't touch solo queue again to be honest.

  • Hate her. They all play as if it's the same person behind the screen. Nothing interesting about her in any sense apart from the goofy name.

  • Definitely, never seen one without add-ons since they make him actually playable in the first place.

At 105% is noticeable, but when they have 1 or 2% only and paired with wallhacks, its impossible to tell for sure, you just know they loop perfectly and you're always 1 second short from catching up before they make it to a loop.

Yet again, MfT was very noticeable and it only provided 3% haste.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3630196#Comment_3630196

Running windows does not make you faster, and you do realize that experienced survivors make mistakes as well, cheaters that can see the killer at all times dont, you're closing in on almost defending cheaters while putting all the blame on killers pretty much saying just get better, experienced killers know there's no way they lose all the 50/50 and survivors have perfect pathing at all times so its obvious why veteran killers find if fishy when they go againts survivors that can do that while not being able to catch up easily

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3630198#Comment_3630198

Because there are all kinds of cheats available now and it has become a real problem that deters players from playing and ruins the fun left in the game.

Some cheaters can even make it seem like you're the one cheating, game absolutely needs a proper anticheat before it loses more players.

We saw that licensed chapters are not enough to bring players in and keep players, they seriously need to focus on making the game experience better, fov slider and 3 gen fix is good, but the anticamp mechanic is bad in the current state and needs to fix proxy camping as well, else it benefits the killer more.

BHVR biggest problem is the one that a lot of content creators touched on, they think they're always right and not listen to the playerbase enough which is literally the people who play the game and bring you money, if you're not gonna listen to those people that have a good ideea how to make the game better in general because they play the game, then on who?

Game needs better anticheat and a replay system to rewatch a survivor after the game ends, they really need to fix the spectate mode to not be so buggy if they're gonna do that.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3630205#Comment_3630205

This is such a flawed mindset, defending BHVR wont make the game experience better but just feed them the ideea that everything is ok, which is not.

Its bewildering that you can say and gaslight people that cheaters are not a problem when there's at least 1 in half my games and you cant even tell because they're all subtle cheaters.

I wont argue further because I think people like you will defend anything if you're gonna defend cheaters and say they're not a problem when there's plenty of content creators too that complain and are not afraid to give BHVR constuctive criticism where its due.

Your comments are too infuriating and it feels like baiting for a warn at this point, and infuriating for the players in this community that actually want the game to get better instead of just stagnate and keep losing players, believe me when I say that people that give BHVR valid and constructive criticism love the game more because they want it to get better fixing the core issues than those who will defend them for anything and actually contributing to the echo chamber.

Never claimed running Windows makes you faster. Helps with pathing only. Cheaters that see the killer at all times do make mistakes. Wall hacks don't give you any game sense. I've seen plenty of videos where cheaters get hooked by killers from silly mistakes on their end that killers capitalize on. Experienced survivors do indeed make mistakes, I tend to get too greedy sometimes and then get hit. Cheaters can also do that. They aren't invincible and perfect at decision-making. If you're good with the camera rotation, you can usually see what the killer is doing anyways whilst in chase. Seeing what the killer is doing out of chase doesn't really benefit you that much at all unless you're at specific loops.

I'd never defend cheaters, you're just claiming that there's so many without any evidence and just saying that if they are skilled and know what to do then they are cheating. That's a flawed mindset. Some people are just more familiar with certain maps and know exactly what to do. Good pathing comes a long way so why wouldn't they learn to be good at it?

Classic double bp event in dbd

You bring cake for everyone just to get turbo tunneled by sweaty nurse with mori and after several ######### games like that, you start to use only personal bp offerings like everyone else.

Times like these makes me wonder if I shouldnt start playing in swf finally and get some bp

I need to get some friends online because solo queue is simply tragic.

  • @radiantHero23 said:

    Similar experience on killer:

3 to 4man swf (asked them and they said yes), one or two syringes and one or two bnp, map offerings for McMillan, coldwind, ormond and Garden of joy on top of strong items and the same 8 perks every game.

People just like to win I guess?

Never liked to win as much as they did yesterday. Solo queue was hell on earth on my servers...

But yeah the killer experience was also rough. My MMR felt like it increased for no reason.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/402962/anyone-else-facing-absolute-tryhards

It's the last playstyle for killers that really works. They got healing nerfed, boons nerfed, hexes are all trash. Past a certain mmr the only way to get any progress or have any pressure at all is to tunnel a survivor out. That bleeds down, and now every killer tunnels because that's what works

Sure, but at five gens? My solo queue team can't handle any sort of pressure and I'm usually the last one alive at three gens remaining when it happens.

Its the sad part of the game, which is why MMR has to be a thing. Your skill doesnt matter much when the ability to stack meta can overlap the skill. I believe a Trapper with iri addons, stack 4 slowdown and tunneling is stronger than Blight without addon, using meme perks and play it fair.

I dont think the mindset of wanting to win so hard making the game sweat fest. But that mindset combined with meta stacking make it feel like so.

When 1 side have the mindset plus stacking meta. If you either try hard but use meme build; or use meta but not try hard...may make you lose the game (assume both side have equal skill)

Wish MMR actually worked properly and wasn't the worst matchmaking I've ever experienced on any game I've laid my hands on.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Yes and yes. Same on both sides. Don't really blame anyone. Every other game is a sweat fest and you never really know what to expect from match to match. Could be chill or it could be a comp scrim. No way of knowing beforehand, but it sucks to lose because the other side was trying harder.

I'd respect it if trying harder didn't mean bleeding people out for a silly 4k and wasting four minutes after hard tunneling at five gens on a solo queue team. If matchmaking was a bit better there'd be some room to breathe because, after all, tunneling is just a strategy that gets countered by teamwork which ceases to exist in solo queue.

  • @I_CAME said:

The matchmaking is always random for me. Earlier I was matched with a 6000+ hour deathslinger and a 5200 hour P100 ghostface. Then afterwards I got a hag and a pig who played like they just installed the game. It just goes from one extreme to the other. I often wonder if this game even has matchmaking at this point.

You win an easy game and then just stare at the screen realising what's to come lmao... Hate that feeling.

  • @KatsuhxP said:

I mean its the same as killer at the moment. I get many swfs sometimes containing out of 1-3 p100s with bnps and a ton of second-chance/gen-speed perks, they like to bring ormount, eyries, garden of pain or rpd mostly.

Could be because of the bloodhunt in combination with SBMM i guess.

Yeah I switched to killer since the matchmaking for survivors was tragic and I literally had no chance of winning even when I kept mistakes to a minimum. Literally felt like my MMR increased to some comp level and it was like that the entire time even though usually I get some odd games here and there.

Tried playing Trapper and immediately got Eyrie of Crows so that was awesome...

  • @skylerbound said:

This is just standard DBD atm. It’s not every match and some days are better than others but this is often the case.

depending on your team they will only get 1-2k or at least that’s become standard with my MMR.

No it's not usually like this for me. These people were playing as if they had money on the line and 4k'ing every single time because my solo queue team can't handle the pressure. I only had a two escape vs the Wesker because I got a flashbang save and then sacrificed myself to let the two others free...

  • The smoke effects from the fire barrels are so pixelated that it constantly reminds me of how old DBD really is. It shouldn't be like that.

  • I'll make sure to crouch mid-chase next time! Might even stand still next to a hook and see how that works out...

  • @GeneralV said:

You can tell when they never lose the 50/50 and have perfect pathing from loop to loop.

Windows of Opportunity and a bunch of experience can tremendously help with patching and connecting loops, hence why it's run so often. Always winning 50/50s depends entirely on the killer, if they can't mindgame properly, or/and are too predictable, why would experienced survivors not win 50/50s?

  • @Adaez said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3630155#Comment_3630155

How can you even tell if a survivor is a 1% or 2% faster? You cant, and its noticeable when a survivor seems harder to catch up distance againts while they have nothing to make them faster.

That 1 or 2% is really enough to make a chase a lot longer than it should paired up with wallhack making the survivor know where to go and how to loop a killer never losing a 50/50. There is no way to know this and hackers abuse it because they cant be detected by the anticheat.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3630130#Comment_3630130

This pretty much kills all the chase killers, basically the most fun part of the game is ruined by subtle cheaters.

Survivors having perfect predictions and doing gens faster and move a bit faster is noticeable but without a replay system catching cheaters is next to impossible without guessing.

I can tell if someone's cheating by my frequent encounters with pre-nerf MfT which only provided 3% haste and yet it was noticeable by almost every player. 1% would definitely go unnoticed, but anything above 3% will. Wall hacks is a different story entirely and that's also hard to justifiably accuse someone of.

  • Lowering MMR most likely.

  • Facing Snooze Merchant is enough of a nuisance as is. They really need to do some console specific updates.

  • There's also a bunch of killers accusing survivors of cheating because they are as easy to read as a book and, therefore, predictable which equates to the survivor having supposed wall hacks. I think there's less subtle cheaters than people think there are by the amount of times I've been accused.

  • Yeah, to be honest I've been face-camped to death so many times as killers proxy for the first half and then just fully camp at the end and the bar fills up so slowly. It's like false hope that you finally get some value but nope the killer stepped back a little and it's game over...

There was another idea i posted earlier to deal with slugging

I've seen it, even replied to it as well to help gain traction.

  • You're coming up with some damn good ideas, keep it up! :)

  • I think survivors being able to tell what the killer's ping is should take priority.

  • Snooze Merchant games are always boring. Never ever have I experienced a Skull Merchant with a personality or not playing exactly like the previous one. Could almost fool yourself into believing it's the same killer player.

  • I like that you made the idea more interactive than you could have. Really nice idea.

I report both. I screenshot chats being called big chested (pick your misogynistic word of choice) loser, among other things, or sexual things said to me that make me wanna vomit and send em in.

I haven't got any report yet that action was taken. I just report them to steam and steam usually does something at least. They do ban the hackers very quick (steam) I have better luck with them ^^

I wish anonymous mode didn't exist sometimes because Steam is really good at stuff like that undeniably. Most anonymous users take advantage of situations like that and it's annoying.

I'm sorry you had/have to go through that because I mean these people are meant to be adults yet have the maturity of a child. It's not exclusive to Dead by Daylight but it's definitely prominent to see such childish behavior. Don't let them influence you in any way.

Probably around 15 seconds. With blatant sandbagging. Like pointing to lockers to rat me out. And i know that they will rat me out because the killer would slug and let them wiggle off. So i record the moment they run to my locker, point and killer opens it. And thats the video.

But unless they are asking for a longer video. Thats hard for me. Because the file would be too big to even upload unfortunately.

No I just thought maybe it'd be an entire match recording and that might be putting them off... That's super weird.

  • @Quizzy said:

I've done 3 reports months ago with video proof before. I never got a response back if an action was taken ingame and date it was taken. I don't know if it's because I'm on console or what but to receive nothing at all really diminished my feelings for taking actions tbh. If I'm sending proof and I'm getting no response at all ingame, I rather not try anymore. But hopefully others get responses i guess.

    How long were the videos?

  • @Krazzik said:

I'll submit an in-game report when I think it's warranted but since I don't record my gameplay and can't be bothered to jump through hoops submitting a ticket on their webite, I know my reports against hackers are unlikely to have any action taken.

In-game reports don't do much since many people spam report for silly stuff. As I said, you don't need to record your gameplay, just screenshot like I did which was just one press of a button. Submitting it through the website shows your commitment and that you aren't just reporting because it's convenient.

  • @ChaosWam said:

Honestly I've gotten more feedback on reports I do in game now that they show you when action was taken. I don't report often either, just when I see blatant cheating or harassment that does violate their ToS. I don't know if they actually go through with all of them, but it's nice to get some kind of response.

That said, I still believe when it comes to cheats you need video proof for them, unfortunately.

When it comes to subtle cheating then certainly because screenshots don't show speed or other stuff cheaters might do, but if it's painstakingky obvious, like in my case, then there's no need.

Oni (slow) can do it/ blight can run in circles (that was what reminded me again)/ pig can do it (even if it‘s absurdly weak)/ Billy can turn infinitely+ insta down.

Blight can even turn an additional 90 degree, when he swings to hit people easier and oni can do almost the same.

As I said Oni's is a bug. Blight cannot run in circles unless it's the PTB version with the silly new reworked add-ons (if you mean after a bounce whilst he's standing still then that's not running), Pig can do it but I mean it hurts them more than it helps, and Billy cannot turn infinitely during his actual ability attack - only when charging up the chainsaw.

  • I'd say it's more of a one-time use perk. Once you use it then the killer should remember you have it and then bait swing and that's the perk gone. It also doesn't help that if you get hit immediately off hook all the anti-tunneling perks aren't usable, dead hard included.

  • @jonifire said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3629212#Comment_3629212

I can understand that, but you don‘t know how it feels to not being able to hit someone, because there is a limit in turning him. When it still would be possible and they made it a slower turning speed or anything else, I would be fine. I have played no killer, where I noticed a limit that hard and it feels so bad to not hit because of it.

I do understand very well. I play on PC with a controller. I can feel every cap lock and my sensitivity is low even at 100% when I usually play games like Fortnite on 6-7/10 sensitivity. 180's should simply not exist in a game like DBD.

  • Maybe it's a sign from the universe

  • @Komi said:

The only time I ever got an immediate response to a report was when I included a link to a pic in the report comments, so maybe a single piece of evidence does go a long ways.

Yeah, for sure, I mean if you put yourself in BHVR's shoes and you receive no evidence for a report but words that could easily be manipulated, it'll be hard to justifiably issue a ban on someone's account based on a guess if the information is correct or not. I think that we just have to realize that BHVR has no power to look back at matches or even at specific leaderboards to confirm what's been said/done. I'm not sure if they can even see the text chat really.

  • Oni is meant to have a cap as well, it's very noticeable on controller. Someone reported it as a bug and screenshotted what a developer said but I have no idea what came of it. As for Blight, he has a cap that restricts excessive DPI influence but it's kind of unnoticeable for really good PC Blight mains.

Chucky should not be back to how he was, I found it very unfair to go against and you sometimes couldn't even counter the ability as it was a guaranteed hit. I wouldn't mind increasing the angle a bit but certainly not back to his previous state, especially now that people have gotten the hang of him and would dominate. He's still in a very strong spot currently.

I have my own thoughts on the Fog Whisperer program, but it has seemed like they're all just store fronts & marketing for years now.

Part of Otz's frustration clearly comes from believing his feedback & suggestions have had little to no effect for a while now. I remember Tru saying the same years ago, back when he still was a Whisperer.

It boils down to thinking maybe you're making a difference and then getting that bitter disappointment feeling when you become sure you don't, and maybe never did.

Yeah, I completely agree. I mean even I believed that Fog Whisperer's had this huge impact because it's such a selective system and what not. I once went against a Fog Whisperer as a Wraith and they were just mad the entire time that I was simply playing the killer. Might've been having a bad day, but that definitely opened my eyes a bit more that it's just about views.

I can definitely understand where he's coming from and I respect his effort to strive for that position. BHVR just listens to the community every once in a while and then go radio silent. It's a never-ending cycle and the reason why this forum is so full of feedback, we hope they'll acknowledge stuff other than bug reports.
