does starstruck even work on survivors affected by Plaything? 🤔i'm not sure with it

My favorite build right now is Nowhere to hide, Overcharge, Eruption and Dissolution

Dissolution is my personal "addiction" perk on Wesker. It just feels awesome to grab survivor mid pallet vault, cancelling it, and then seeing, how they vault it again and instantly break it (or just slam them in this pallet/near it, that works too. most of the time they will vault it, since they don't get Dissolution notification until it's too late)

Kinda addiction on Nowhere to hide. I hate looking for survivors, that are playing stealthy near gens (and sometimes it can take very long time to find them), so, i just kick gen (and hope there is no Distortion 😅)

Added Overcharge+Eruption to the mix as some sort of gen regression, since i kick gens a lot for Nowhere to hide

As for starstruck, Sloppy butcher, etc M1 perks, i mostly use M2 (sometimes a bit too much), so, they have little to no benefit to me

Corrupt, Gift of Pain, Pain reso, No Way Out or Brutal Strength

Thanks for the responses! Both sound really good, just have to wait for the shrine of secrets to start being good again lmao.

  • It's weird they protest on Twitter instead of the official DBD forums where developers seem to take notice of every suggestion. Thanks for bringing it up, it would be nice. :)

  • Just to taunt I'm afraid. I always just write in the endgame chat "Sorry for playing fairly, should've tunneled" and go next. It's a shame that when you give them the same energy back, if you get them next game, they start begging for a 1v1 or asking if we're salty from last game. They do not care at all about you getting more points from having to hit them and it's just a silly excuse.

  • Yes, they are different. I have to agree with you because the moris and outfits are really good and it's a shame that the PC version, that isn't restricted to the capabilities of a mobile phone, is getting less outfits and only has a single mori for each killer. Most killer moris are also pretty boring (Trapper and Wraith's mori for example) due to literally barely any gore and the mobile version does the opposite which is really cool. I was really hoping someone would mention this eventually. Instead of getting unique collections we get Felix in a crop top...

  • Different reactions to failing skill checks would be really cool as well and there's a lot of unique options for that (hitting the gen, hitting yourself in the leg, hitting the floor, etc).

  • The first time I used that perk was my last. It literally hindered my experience more than it helped.

  • There should really be some sort of ping limiter. That Bubba hit was absolutely crazy but it happens all the time. It's a shame killers can also use VPN to their advantage and make their ping just bad enough to land hits like that. I really hope this gets more attention than all the other stuff in this forum. Thanks for bringing it up with a video :)

  • Nurse's lunge is always crazy after a blink. I think that's more of a hit validation issue but it obviously becomes miserable really quickly. Also the high skill ceiling makes Nurse mains so scary to go up against because they can learn your playstyle and it's basically game over...

I’m trying to report a hacker I encountered (players in game name was Mikaela Reid 01, also played with another player Mikaela Reid 05). What is the official way of doing so?

I went up against a hacker today as well, they fully admitted it in endgame chat and how after five years they weren't banned. I hope my report changes that.

  • It would really help against VPN users abusing ping to get an advantage.

  • I tried to bring this up but it got buried under all the complaints. If all modern games manage, why can't BHVR do it?

  • @patronsaintofpizza said:

Can someone let me know if this has been seen by BHVR? Don't want it to get buried.

    Most likely will unfortunately.

Same vibes as not getting a sticker for getting high marks in a test, it's not that deep.

Is it crazy to ask for better rewards to incentivize playing the game to the best of your ability and not making a game more miserable for fellow survivors? If you get more rewarded for your performance, are you realistically going to try to play better or worse? I'm sure you get really excited about bloodhunts which are literally there to incentivize playing the game.

  • I can't believe my Dead By Daylight: Nightmare Edition PS4 disc version is literally worth at least $100 now. I moved to PC last year so it's been a shame losing my main (Nancy) after so much time spent playing with her and it's irritating because each time I play DBD I try to fill in the void with other survivors but there's always that little gap. I wish we could just send proof we owned the DLC and there was some way to just transfer the character(s) over - even just one.

  • If that was implemented killers would simply hit you as soon as you're off hook so the basekit BT will dissapear and then they'll carry on tunneling. You don't have to wait it out, it's just that waiting ten seconds is better than hitting and giving the survivor a speed boost as of now. It happens even in the current state of the game so I doubt that will be able to solve the issue.

  • Solo queue is just like that unfortunately. You provided a pretty decent change to the perk which makes sense so I don't understand why people are blaming you for trying to be altruistic. By telling someone to choose another perk you're basically saying that the perk is obsolete and NEEDS a rework/adjustment in order to be relevant which is what you provided. I'm sorry that you received all these replies from people that run meta perks and don't care about the rest. Empathy and Empathic Connection serve two different purposes and asking you to switch won't make the problem you have go away. When I used empathy I couldn't even bother going to injured survivors because it felt like it was a killer gen perk the amount of time I would have wasted. Empathic Connection is hard to come by in my games and I'm sure the issue you addressed here is the root cause of it.

By the way, people eager to reply, this whole thread is about feedback AND SUGGESTIONS. You should only reply to criticize the suggestion and/or provide valid alternatives or stick up for it. Burying issues doesn't help.

I am overall ok with my PS4 Controller.

But a sensitivity option would be very nice in fact.

But on Controller you will never achieve Keyboard and Mouse precision - this has always been the case. Early shooter on Console were pretty bad in comparison.

Trust me I understand the precision part, it's the whole reason aim assist is implemented in many other games in order to even out the playing field but even those games offer generous sensitivity options. I just want a 10% maximum higher sensitivity because after that it'll probably make it more difficult to play on the PS5 controller ha ha. I'm also overall okay but it doesn't hurt to ask for better. :)

It takes practice to get a feel for the timing. Having headphones really helps to pinpoint the directional audio of her phasing sound. You can hear where she's coming from and react to it, but you have to be quick. Some tips off the top of my head:

Pay attention to the directional phasing sound. Don't get in a rush when she's phasing close to you. A Spirit player will often fake one way and go the other way while she's phase walking. Be patient.

Rules for sitting at pallets: No at long range, yes at short range. Pre-drop if she's going for a long range phase and make her go around. This usually gives you enough distance to run out her power. This also takes the timing and ping aspects out of that interaction. If she's in close range, use your ears and, again, be patient. She's going to fake a few times before committing to a lunge out of her power. Bait it and play for the stun, or run away from the pallet after sitting there for a few seconds. You'll need to get a feel for how she's playing. If she's really aggro and swings at everything, leaving the pallet can work. If she's patient, you can play for the stun.

Understand how survivor audio works. When you're standing and injured, you have normal volume. When you're running, you make a bit more noise. When you crouch, your sound is reduced by 50%. Survivor injured audio has a hard cutoff at 12-16 meters. The killer cannot hear you beyond that no matter how good their headphones are. The audio doesn't exist beyond that range. When you run, you breath heavy (separate from injured breathing). When you stop running, you continue to breath heavy unless you let go of the run button and forward button briefly. Then your breathing returns to normal. You can just let go of forward and then start walking again to resume normal breathing volume.

Don't run in the grass if you can avoid it. Spirit is very much a visual killer too. She's watching for any environmental cues that indicate where you went. Crows, grass, anything. If you're in the open and don't have anywhere to go, vary your pace and use brief crouches to change your volume. Use weird pathing and misdirection if she's trying to predict you instead of using her ears. You can tell pretty quickly if it's a prediction Spirit vs an audio Spirit.

If she has Mother Daughter Ring+Dried Cherry Blossom, forget everything I just said. You'll be on the hook shortly.

Props to you for the advice and being honest at the end ha ha. Those add-ons are crazy.

Game afoot works "Whenever you hit the Survivor with the highest cumulative Chase time". None of us were in chase and once the obsession dies, no one can become the obsession.

nvm apparently that's possible. Thanks for informing me quickly without calling me a dumb survivor main :) Also I agree it's such a miserable playstyle to go against and I don't think it should even be in the game. I bet it's going to be meta soon...

  • @MarbleThrone said:

    I don't think this is a glitch.

Once all the gens are done, Rancor automatically inflicts exposed on the obsession and the killer can mori them regardless of offerings or hook states. I believe you may not have been aware of the fact that it always applies exposed. Game Afoot is a perk that makes the survivor you've chased the longest the new obsession when you hit them.

These perks together make it possible to mori multiple times in endgame. The same would be true if instead of Game Afoot the killer used Nemesis, which also shifts obsessions around. What happened in your matches, therefore, is possible according to the perk mechanics.

So no, no glitch or cheats, just a rather scummy playstyle.

Well. It was part of the Finisher Mori test, which consisted of plenty of changes that belonged together and were announced to be very early design phase and would undergo changes, for which they wanted early community feedback.

so we can’t really answer your question, the devs are working on these changes which might scrap parts of it including the base ability to stand up.

Ahh okay, I thought an update might have been provided since then about its future. Thanks for the quick reply.
