They definitely need to penalize him for readying/unreadying his gun all the time. Then they can either make his TR normal or give him a lullaby a-la Huntress/Trickster. They already have the aiming stinger so maybe they could just use that.
I don't know how they can do the first bit without making him clunky feeling though.
Wraith can also trick you out by ringing his bell without transitioning to or from a cloak, which I find sneaky but actually a pretty cool strategy. I hate the damn character these days but that's something that I find to be a neat psychological trick. I haven't faced Slinger enough (or ever played as him) to know what it's like for him to do what you describe, but it sounds like a neat way to psych out opponents (as annoying as that would be for the opponent, yes).
-
I was told that if you're harpooned, but then lean and put an object between you and the Slinger (which should, logically, become an interception between the two of you) then the cord would "break" and you'd be able to run. I don't get the Deathslinger that often and of course I'm not TRYING to get harpooned so I haven't had much chance to test this, but in my experience working an object between the two of you does nothing, you just kind of slip around it as he reels you in. Am I doing something wrong or was I misinformed?
-
I mean, fair enough, and I do agree that it's funny, it's just...such an odd way to come together for a match, lol. Guess they didn't want to face Oni. I would have leapt at the occasion, I don't see the guy enough.
When I play as Amanda I always try to boop the snoot. Oddly when I'm against her (which now that I think of it, also isn't as much as I'd like) I don't usually get boopers.

Disagree.
Stranger Things is much more mainstream and much more popular than Resident Evil, at least in the US
Given your avatar and intimate knowledge of the show I wouldn't expect you to have a bias or anything. :)
In all seriousness I actually prefer Stranger Things myself. I mean if I were told that I could only have one, that would be the franchise I'd go with. I've played three RE games and while I loved all of them, there are a bunch I haven't played, don't care to play, and actually look pretty lame to me. I haven't caught up with S3 of ST yet but out of the first two seasons there's one single episode that I didn't care much for. The rest were, in my opinion, all fantastic.
I argue for RE though in terms of longevity (it's been around for 25 years as opposed to five), which alone is all but guaranteed to make it the more popular and lucrative franchise. I mean we're talking something like 742 games, nine of ten of which were supposed to be really great, selling a total of probably 50 to 100 million units over its lifetime. ST is immensely popular too, yes, but it's impossible to do an apples to apples comparison. Even if, for example, ST has amassed 50-100 million viewers, we'd still need to factor in things like the financial cost of playing an RE game as opposed to watching or buying an episode of the show, piracy, age limits (the RE games are rated M, but who knows how much that's enforced), availability, brand recognition across various ages and demographics, etc etc etc.
I guess what I'm saying is that I think it's impossible to quantify which series is "bigger" or "more popular" so I'm going primarily by how huge RE has been for a good portion of my life. How much of a pop culture impact it's had, and for how long. Time is on its side.

I was looking for survivors but they were not on generators. And then i took crow notices. When i go to check, i saw all of them.
They were t-bagging in front of Oni Mask. And they all sacrificed items to mask. This made me so laugh. And i accepted their sacrifices and i did let them all go.
I wish i would have video recorder, that was awesome moment.

I'd just like performance on Console's to be fixed.
This is a perfectly valid desire.

It's alright. I wish console also had access to the in-game chats though, it'd be nice to communicate with them.
I was actually just about to post this exact same thing.
I haven't noticed any problems that I can attribute to the existence of cross-play. To my mind the option simply provides more people to play with. Having grown up with consoles yet doing most of my gaming on the PC I also feel that all of the machines are valid and don't support the "console vs PC" debate at all.
People with mice may have quicker control (I play the PC version with a 360 controller - heresy, I know) but there are so many variables in this game that I doubt it makes a substantial statistical difference. Beyond that, all things are pretty much equal to me. The Switch Lite version is essentially a 1:1 port of the PC version, and I've played games that mingled the two in all possible configurations. All of it's the same to me. So I find cross-play fine, I just wish that console players could see and respond to my messages.

I am one of the lucky few that is having no problems at all on ps5 and series x, the normal killer bugs but no hitches, stutters, crashes or anything else. It's just the Switch that's been a hindrance so far, barely got anything levelled there hoping for some optimisation from bhvr that never seems to come.
Hmm, no issues on those other consoles at all? That may in fact be good luck, I don't know. I hear more about the previous generation of consoles having issues, but I've seen some who said that the current gen does as well. A few users here claimed that their consoles overheated, even temporarily shut down. I can't confirm any of it as I play exclusively on the PC and Lite, it's just stuff I've seen others say. I hope that your good luck continues.
As for the Lite I may try to play it today, see how it goes. If I do I'll let you know if I have any issues with it. I know that others have reported frame drops and such but for me the game's always worked fine. Got a 4K at a Walmart with it. :)

When people say to delete a map it's mostly an exaggeration to express how the map is full of flaws and needs an overhaul. Everybody knows the map isn't going to be deleted, especially a licensed one.
Sometimes it's an exxageration, yes. Other times people mean it (I would know, I've argued with some) and couldn't care less whether it inconveniences anyone else. They hate a map so hell with it, they want it out of the game. If other people don't like that, those other people need to adjust. Some people just have that attitude.
I'm not saying that anyone in this thread took it that far. I just feel the need to speak my opposition to the "please delete this map" discussions because, just as someone wants to express that they don't like something, I want to express that there are others who do.

Its haddonfield, the only map where m1 killers literally can barely do anything at 1 loop solely cause you can’t cut a survivor off at it
I somewhat sympathize for killers on Haddonfield because I do tend to win more games on it than not - the gens are often spread really far so map pressure is often difficult - I just don't agree with the notion of deleting a map, that's all. Not ever. It's a pet peeve of mine because people often just throw out that "solution" when they don't like a map, and the maps are almost always ones that I happen to like (basically Haddonfield and all indoor maps, rarely does anyone actively try to campaign against any other one).
I'm of the belief that everyone should have the chance to play on the maps that they like, that every map in this game is greatly enjoyed by somebody, and that no map - not even the ones that I myself hate - should be removed from the game.
Fixed? Gone over and given a polish to help the balance? Sure, I'm not against that at all.
-
Just found this as well, wanted to separate it in case it's of any use. Nothing in terms of assistance, but other people discussing the handheld mode being more reliable.

If I manage to get games I will try your advice about handheld, thanks. Although it's weird less power going to it will make it more stable.
No problem, I hope it helps. I looked up the game extensively before I bought the Switch version (which I did a couple of months ago, after getting the PC version first) and it got average reviews. When I looked into why the reviews were primarily because of the price (full priced game despite having become lower on PC) and complaints about some bugs and framerate issues.
What I can say for sure is that the game has been updated since that time, the review photos always showed the old game interface. And while I can't speak for the docked version, or any differences that might exist between portable Switch and the Switch Lite (there shouldn't be any), I can definitely tell you that I repeatedly saw people say that the game's performance was more smooth in handheld.
There are a couple of other Switch players here, they may have something to add. Remember though, supposedly everything but the PC version of the game was hit hardest by the current glitches, so if the game's running poorly for you right now it might be temporary.

EDIT: Caught a couple of Chris', too. More Leons and Jills which makes sense, because given the problems with the game I think a lot of people are apprehensive about throwing more money at the game just now. There will be more of them over time.

"what does fixing have to do with me not wanting to have it?"
The fact that you said "pleaase" when someone else suggested to remove it from the game?

I never understood why Behavior went out of their way to fix it for every character instead of fixing it just for licensed characters.
Who's to say that they went out of their way to do it? Maybe it was a far easier, more cost-effective fix. Maybe in order to separate the licensed characters from the unlicensed ones they would have had to do much more work and thus prolong the fixes on more important things.

Can people maybe just stop already with the "I don't like this map so no one else should have it" garbage? I was hoping that I could get a break from this for five minutes with the disabling of the RPD map.

I know the difference thank you :p
No, the Switch version runs much worse than the other versions putting me and other Switch players at a huge disadvantage. For this reason I do not have crossplay on. I just wanted to get out of low ranks but can never get a game.
Play it in handheld mode if you can. Many people reported that the game runs better that way, strangely enough. I have the game on my Lite and I have to admit, I've never had any issue with it. It performs fine for me. That said, I have NOT played it since these recent glitches so maybe things have changed, just like they apparently did for other console users.

I semi-agree. But even so, they should not have announced this nearly a year ago if they knew it wasnt going to come anytime soon.
They may have thought that they were close to getting it working and things didn't wind up turning out that way, hard to say. I guess it could have just been a lie to get people excited but I would need evidence before I believed that.
-
I feel that survivors should earn a (LOW) BP boost when they're being camped. Not because I feel that the survivors should have a free advantage or because I feel that it makes sense for them to be rewarded for being caught and hooked (I admit, it doesn't), but simply because I feel that camping is a fair strategy BUT it's also a miserable, dull experience of non-play for the person who has to sit there on the hook. Their choice is to either disconnect and screw up the game, or sit there and do nothing for several minutes, wasting their time not having any fun.
Some people have suggested that the hook timer should stop when the survivor is being camped, or that camping should be a bannable offense, neither of which I agree with. The killer is just doing what they're supposed to (albeit in a more aggressive fashion). But being the person on the hook really sucks. It's a pain to sit for what is always at least a couple of minutes to get into a match, or sometimes - if it's later in the evening for example - upwards of five or ten minutes, only to have the game taken from them and earn almost nothing for having waited. It's like waiting in line for a roller coaster only for the ride to break down as soon as you get on it, then being told "eh, come back and wait in line again later, you'll have better luck next time".
So to give the hooked victim at least a LITTLE bit of "mercy money" would, in my opinion, reduce the frustration by at least a little bit, hopefully discourage disconnects, and still allow the game to proceed as normal without punishing the killer.

I agree but they need to address it. Its been delayed so many times and had dates set for it and they've not delivered. The least we deserve is a progress update minimum.
I do agree that it should be addressed. There are people who have said that BHVR needs to keep giving updates on other things that they've already addressed (such as the current round of glitches) but I feel that it would be pointless to just say "we're still working on it" if there's nothing more that they can give us. The cross-progression, on the other hand, hasn't been addressed in a long time, at least not that I'm aware of. It would nice to know if they just dropped the idea or what.
-
The day that DBD begins to become an anime hybrid is the day that I stop playing.
-
Well, to be fair, they've got some other concerns at the moment. I want cross-progression too but I doubt that it's coming anytime soon now. It may not have been close to ready yet as it is, we won't know until they address it.

Of course there is. That doesn't change the point that when you throw out something that is the type complete and utter speculation that you mention, it's irresponsible to phrase it is as some kind of known fact.

For whatever it's worth I think I've only seen this once, if at all (I only saw Amanda in anything other than her default costume once, but can't recall if she tunneled).

(Stage spoilers). An RE7 chapter has to happen. Jack had and still has many more creative possibilities than Nemesis. Just a variant of the swamp with the layout of the Bayou would be enough.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2304336#Comment_2304336
The only core thing Jack needs to do to be popular is to be able to talk in and out of chases, just like an advanced version of Trickster. It’s what would ultimately make him... unique.
I would love to play on the Baker estate (indoor or outdoor version) against a talkative Jack.

Well, the way I see it, Jack has three different options for a power.
- Lot's of Weaponry: Jack uses a lot of different weapons, such as shovels, axes, a spiked paint roller, and of course his double bladed chainsaw. This option for a power would see him make use of these different weapons, along with his insane strength to brute force his way through things. However, this to me seems like it'd be the worst option for a power out of these three, as it's kind of already been done with a lot of other killers, and is just rather dull.
- Molded Mayhem: With this option, Jack would fine himself aided by the molded that wander the halls of the Baker Estate. Just like with Nemesis's zombies, they would be ai controlled, except unlike with Nemesis they'd be the main focus of his power. My idea for this is Jack would be able to create different types of molded that would each have their own strengths and weaknesses.
- Family's all that Matters: Last if not least, this would be the more interesting option for a power. With this option, the player would be able to swap between the three different family members Jack, Marguerite, and Lucas. Each one would have their own ability's and the like. Now, this is somewhat similar to The Twins, but I think it would be different enough to the point of still being interesting.
These are some good ideas, I hadn't really thought about Jack being able to harness the molded power on a smaller scale. Changing into the rest of the family members would be...really weird, but if it hypothetically meant that he could be in the game I'd be down for it.
A spiked paint roller? Is that what it is? I always assumed that it was one of those manual grass trimmer things.

Not after the travesty that's been this patch.
Besides, a Stranger Things 2 Chapter would be more likely and WAY more fun.
Think of it, Starcourt Mall as the new map.
Will and Eleven as Survivors.
Will's perks could center around aura-reading since he's connected to a Entity-like being already.
Eleven's perks could center around moving pallets and rage.
Killer could be the Demo-dog.
I like all of these ideas (and would LOVE a mall map in this game. Profoundly.) but the only problem I see is that Eleven is only a teenager, so I couldn't see the developers or garden-variety finger-waggers being okay with the idea of her being hooked.
(I haven't seen the third season yet so if her age wouldn't be the issue that I think it would, I'm not yet aware).

Have you even played 7 or 8? Because Mia does not act like that. Hell, the start of 7 was her telling Ethan to stay away and not save her.
I love Jack and would like to see him in the game but if they represented him properly (again, spoilers for those who for some reason haven't played RE7 yet) he would either be an old man who chases you with a freaky garden implement (cool), a chainsaw type of weapon (already have two killers that fit this mold), or a completely impractical giant mutated abomination. I don't really see a lot of people being excited for the first option, even though I'd enjoy it.

Never remove, only rework.
What's the specific problem though? Maybe this is BECAUSE he's not good (I don't know, I don't use him) but despite the fact that I don't see Trapper too terribly often, he's almost always fantastic when I do face him. There are some really crafty, really spatially-aware Trapper players out there.

It's really not the "free compensation" that I want, though free cosmetics are always nice. I was just hoping the devs would treat the events as a live ptb and use them to try out new mechanics that they may add to the base game if they were well received by the player-base. Like, for Christmas, they should make part of the floor for outside maps a little slippery, that would cause both killers and survivors to slide around a bit. In the spring, the swamp maps could get flooded with water in certain areas where we can swim through or maybe jump from drift wood to drift wood to get to buildings or higher ground. They could introduce new usable items and see what works and what doesn't.
That's another good answer. I like to see people making reasonable wishes like these.

Joe probably won't make it since he was a DLC character. But yeah Mia would be a better pick than Ethan and actually possible. And Marguerite probably wouldn't fit or just be super repeat mechanics. There would be no need for Candy man if Marguerite was added.
Was his name actually Joe? Lol I was just making a joke. If it was Joe Baker then wow, Capcom really WAS aping Joe Don Baker after all!
But yeah I agree with you, and I'd really like to see Candyman as a killer. I remember hearing that they were working on that, maybe they still are.
-
I don't myself, though we could still get a few more skins. They've covered the mains, but we're still missing Barry and Wesker. I also love (LOVE) RE7 so I think it would be great to have Jack and Marguerite as killers but I also think that it would be difficult to find a place for them. Without spoiling the game for anyone who hasn't played it Jack's most logical role as killer would be one that's already the same as some other killers and Marguerite has specific gameplay elements that make her threatening which couldn't really be pulled off well in this game (in the practical sense).
I'm surprised that I've never seen anyone else mention Mia, I'd like having her as a survivor. Same with the other guy, what's his name? The brother? Joe Don Baker of the swamp? Lol punchy grizzly man. Can't recall his name.
-
I just assumed that this was the way the procedural generation algorithm worked: They throw you a perk and if you don't want it, well, too bad. They'll keep throwing you the perk until you're forced to take it.
That's been my experience the whole time. I spent some shards to unlock BBQ a good month ago or more (I got lucky, it showed up in the Shrine) and while it DID show up immediately for Jill during the PTB, meaning that I couldn't use it beyond that, I have yet to see it show up for any other character in the "regular" game. Similarly I have a certain build that I really like which means four perks that are, in all truth, not major game changers individually, and two of them (Dark Sense and Kindred) are generic to begin with, but it doesn't matter. The game wants all of my survivors to have Deja Vu and Premonition instead.
Really, really, REALLY WANTS IT.

At a guess, people would like events to actually feel like events. My all time favorite is still the Summer BBQ event. Margarita gens and Grill hooks were really cool. Add in the extra bp from finishing the gens/using those hooks and it was alot of fun. In short they made events that were fun, not copy and paste.
Thank you for the honest answer. Yes, things like this would be nice.

What exactly does everyone want, aside from the ability to exploit the game in ways that the developer doesn't want and free "compensation" for the game developing undesired bugs?
I'll start. It's their fifth anniversary so I think that BHVR could have shown their effort by providing me with a free car. I'd still hate them and call them lazy, inept, greedy, stupid, worthless, evil, and every other negative thing I could think of while continuing to play the game and demanding a full cash refund, but man it would be nice to have a new car. Oh, I want my cosmetic glitch given back to me too. They owe me.
-
So far, since yesterday alone, I have seen posts that claim:
- It "wouldn't cost that much" to hire the original RE voice actors
- "Matter of fact, I know that Capcom doesn't control what BHVR does because if they did they would have taken one look at Claire and said no".
- BHVR cares more about its shareholders than its customers
- The "integrity of licensed characters" line is just an excuse
- The company would rather take away things that people like than fix things that people don't
- This is no different than taking a car to the dealership for an adjustment and getting your car ruined in the process
- This entitles me to a full refund.
- People who lost the cosmetic glitch are victims
- There's "no reason" why BHVR can't (insert literally anything here)
- The game is unplayable and they don't care
- There's a streamer (or streamers) who agrees with us
- BHVR needs to explain this more
- The company is being too silent, this proves that they don't care and aren't doing anything to address any of the serious problems with the game
- Linked sets are a cash grab
- BHVR is losing money by removing the glitch
- A general attitude of entitlement, pattern of throwing out hyperbole and conjecture, and overall negativity based on the fact that a glitch was patched that they didn't want patched, which - combined with the fact that more serious issues persist and BVR hasn't given us daily updates and / or rewards such as total cash refunds - is concrete evidence that the company does not care and this is all just a calculated attempt to screw over its customer base that they clearly can't stand
...So uh, any room for logic here or should the rest of us just give up and enjoy fifty more identical threads complaining about how horrible the developers are treating them?
-
...
BHVR is legally obligated to represent the licensed characters in whatever way they're told to by the people who hold the rights to those characters. Meanwhile, the cosmetic glitch was just that - a glitch.
The licensed character issue is very serious and could get the company sued if they aren't careful about it. They more than likely implemented a system that not only prevents the licensed characters from having any unintended alterations made to them, but a universal catch-all system that prevents ALL character models from having any unintended alterations made to them. This would, presumably, be easier than having to alter the code for each and every individual character and cosmetic in the game.
Regardless of their reasoning, this was a glitch, everyone KNEW it was a glitch, so everyone should have known that it was likely to get patched out eventually. It's BHVR's right to do this, for any reason, at any time. Is it disappointing as a player? I didn't use the glitch but sure, it seemed like fun. Does it LOOK like BHVR just deliberately ignored all the serious performance issues just to take away something that people liked instead? Yes, I can see how people would look at it that way. Does that mean that this is the case, that the company would rather take things away that are harmless to the player rather than work on fixing more serious issues that negatively impact the player's experience? No. That is an assumption, and one that's based largely on the entitlement that people feel toward the glitch that was never meant to be taken advantage of in the first place.

No it was the right course of action for me, i was fine with buying the sets, glitching them, and also pushing characters to prestige 3 just to glitch them. I had fun and felt accomplished as i finished it. And i knew very well what could happen. I was aware of the risk and even though it was very exhausting and aggravating it was worth it. Its not very nice that i had no chance to play with the rare combinations i created but so be it.
Well, you have a healthy attitude about it at least. That's good. I'd hate to put all that time into something only to have it taken away (which is one of the reasons why I do understand the initial frustration that people feel) but if you went in fully prepared to accept losing it all then you went about it the right way.

I like Unstable, to be honest. It really gets you in the mood for killing.
Hmm, I'd have to hear that one specifically. I was under the impression that all killers had the same generic bass groove just kind of bouncing around in the background while they moved around. It's so distracting to me. It's like the killer is listening to an ipod, lol.

Just as a side note, it took me days to get some of the things i had, but since i know everything is temporary what can i do. I tried some things at the patch day and got to the result that it is still possible to play with glitched sets. Its only a little inconvenient, but still possible. I guess that it still is enough for BHVR to call it a day. They probably aren't fixing the 3 other glitches or issues there are as well. Some people can still play with their glitched outfits 24/7 without issue, only a little step to do. But thats pretty rare anyway.
My advice would be to never invest significant time, effort, or certainly money on anything that's based around a glitch, since that glitch can always get patched out at any time. But as I've been saying no one's listened to me today anyway. :P

Very reasonable, i see this side of the issue as well. I was also not very upset even though i had glitched all of the cosmetics there are. Except Jane at the time. Of course i don't like my predicament of having maybe 16 glitched outfits that took a lot of time to create, sometimes doing multiple things to combine multiple sets on one character, not many people had that kind of patience. Now needing to erase them myself, it kind of strips me of the uniqueness i created with it. But i was aware it could all be gone when they do decide to do something like they did.
I expected them to patch out the glitches though and even though i knew there was this kind of solution i didn't expect them to take it since it is pretty drastic.
I am no hypocrite, i also made my point against BHVR in this situation, even though i did understand what lies beneath the surface. Its 2 parts of the same medal like with most things, opposite points can both be true. In everything lies a grain of truth. Its often not the issue at hand that sparks the outrage of the community but underlying issues.
I do enjoy having a profound discussion with you though. Not many people speak on this kind of level, even though english is not my native tongue i believe i can express myself pretty good and don't know why not more people engage in high level conversation.
Thank you. For what it's worth I think you speak English very well.
I'm not in any way against anyone for being upset that the glitch has been removed. I understand that, as someone correctly observed in another thread, the timing is horrible and when taken at face value it appears that BHVR ignored much more negative, important things to focus instead on removing something that people were happy about. I COMPLETELY get that. The problem is that instead of taking some time to consider why this may have happened from the company's perspective, or allow for other possibilities other than "they're liars, they're inept, they don't care about their customers", the thought process for most people seems to have stopped at "they took away something that I like and I'm angry, there is no reasonable excuse for this".
It's an extremely narrow, extremely subjective viewpoint, and the more I see it expressed the more I think it needs to be challenged. I'm not looking to invalidate anyone's frustration. I'm simply trying to get them to consider more possibilities.

I think what rubbed people the wrong way was the timing. The game is unplayable for most players, and they release a patch that quite literally just takes one of the few fun things in this game away. That’s personally what bothered me at least.
This is totally understandable, I just wish that more people were willing to entertain the bigger picture (not you specifically, I mean the tide of people who only see the situation as one in which a careless and inept company cares more about robbing them of something that they happen to like for reasons that are not deemed to be acceptable).

I've never said people, who exploit the system are in the right. I'm talking about actual complains, which results in BHVR making less money, because they're not interested in full sets.
It's very late for me and I don't quite know if I'm understanding you properly. It's alright.

I don’t think anyone really cared that much about them fixing the cometic glitch we all knew it would eventually get fixed.
The issue is we have a broken chapter that we paid good money, we all expected at least the RE map would be fixed. Or even a x 2 bp event to keep us occupied while they fixed all the issues.
What do we have after after 1 week of patiently waiting? cosmetic fixes….
Nobody seeks any streamers expertise, I’m sure a majority felt exactly the same way I do once they read the hot fix patch notes.
He summarised it quite well *Inset phrase* Couldn’t of said it better myself
You may not seek the perceived expertise of streamers but there are plenty on this forum who do. I wouldn't even mind such a phenomenon if it didn't help to create a hive mind mentality in which people tend to assume that what they say is inherently correct. Sometimes I'm sure they ARE correct. I'm also sure that plenty of what they say isn't, or is nothing more than opinion. In the case of this particular thread it's just the irritation of seeing a streamer weigh in (in favor of the glitch, which didn't surprise me) after trying so, SO hard to help people understand that the issue isn't black and white, BHVR vs. us.
Having said that, I totally agree with the majority of what you said here. You're right - it IS frustrating to see so many things that need to be addressed left unfixed. I DO understand why it would feel insulted to see what is perceived to be nothing more than an enjoyable, seemingly innocuous little glitch patched out while other, admittedly more important (from the player's perspective, at least) issues left untouched. I get that. I don't deny it at all. That's why I'm not running around telling people to quit complaining, or saying that their frustration has no merit. I haven't spent the day telling people that they're wrong to be upset, I've spent the day earnestly trying to get them to see things from another point of view.

You know how it is, there will always be those kind of people. Be the change you want to see around you. Every little action has its consequences and can help for a slight change in general behaviour of the community.
This is a fair observation. I've actually spent a great deal of time trying to explain this issue today, to at least help others see things from a perspective other than victimization and entitlement (referring not to any specific individual but rather the dominant tone regarding this whole subject). I've made probably two dozen comments across at least five different threads, all filled with people who are, with varying degrees of outrage, insisting that the removal of this glitch was unfair to them and symbolic of BHVR's alleged apathy towards its customers.
I've tried to encourage people to see things from the company's side. I've tried listing legal reasons why this would be in the company's best interest. I've tried pointing out that none of us are employees of the company and therefore have no factual ground upon which to make accusations. I've tried explaining my own face to face interactions with upper level management of other game publishers and developers who expressed to me in no uncertain terms why they had to make the same type of decisions about the same type of issue. I've tried arguing the simple common sense that if a company does something that the players don't like and could very well cost the company money, the company probably had a very good reason for doing it. I have spent hours doing this not because I have absolutely anything at all to gain from it but because I would like people to have more than one limited and entirely subjective assessment of the situation.
No one cares. I've seen less than ten people over the last 24 hours who tried to do anything similar and discuss this subject with anything resembling objectivity. Everyone else just wants their glitch and is angry that they don't have it anymore. And it is for that reason that I'm exasperated seeing yet another thread on the subject, this one regarding the opinion of a streamer who, by nature of their celebrity status here, is just going to further complicate the discussion.

While I agree that original cosmetics don't matter it's also the fact this is probably a "universal" fix, fixing all the legendary & linked cosmetics is I'm going to assume infinitely easier than "fixing it for this skin but not this skin" especially considering it's a glitch that uses lag to break the cosmetics, asking the devs to fix stuff constantly and then getting angry that there's a fix that doesn't benefit you is silly.

Maybe not. But it should be expected that people grow up and stop throwing around baseless accusations and conspiracies.
I've encountered a total of around half a dozen people who seem to understand this issue (there was another user's comment here as well but I'm tired and missed the quote). I'm glad that I'm not the only one who gets this, even as I struggle to comprehend how few people seem to even want to bother trying.

Whoever is responsible for the sets is still the one losing potential customers. I think it's still a valid complaint regardless of the reason.
People want to continue to exploit a glitch that provides them with something that the company did not intend for them to have, something which could potentially have legal repercussions for the company if left unaddressed. The company exercised its right to stop the glitch and even went so far as to explain why they did it.
People are still complaining because they don't like the answer and simply want to keep abusing the glitch regardless of the company's wishes or how it could affect them. In what way are their complaints valid?

To be fair, you also didnt start a "reasonable discussion" with your first post. Did you ? It was more of a confrontational direction instead of a explaination of your oppinion.
No, I didn't. I made an exasperated observation. I've found that few people who have made threads or comments in favor of retaining the cosmetic glitch are engaging in a "reasonable discussion".
