  • If more licensed content gets pulled but it only affects the maps and not the characters, that's not the worst case scenario but it's still a bad thing. Many of the maps in this game are similar and repetitive so losing a unique map is a bad thing, not a good thing. This game needs more map variety, not less.

So, while I'm happy that I can still retain my purchased content, I'm very sad at the prospect of losing the maps. That's half the fun of the game to me. If more maps disappear, then I'll just play the game less and less. Not as any kind of statement, but simply because the dwindling variety would reduce my enjoyment of playing the game.

  • I've been watching the FNAF topics exponentially increase over the last month. I honestly feel sorry for you guys.

Here's the thing: Objectively speaking, weighing both the pros and the cons and trying to give the FNAF games (not the fandom, the games themselves) a fair shake, they ARE jumpscare simulators, yes, and some would (correctly) argue that they're also resource management sims. Don't let your power meter run out, make sure to check the vents and hallways, etc etc etc. I get it, it's not everyone's cup of tea.

I had absolutely the lowest, bargain basement expectations of FNAF when I played the first game about four or five years ago. But I won't lie, I enjoyed the experience. The game isn't satisfying because of the jumpscares, the game is satisfying in the tension that comes with trying to AVOID the jumpscares, which is paired with a very strong sense of helplessness, very rich and well-crafted audio, and - ultimately - a slowly unspooling story that gets darker and more macabre as it progresses. I respect the games for what they are, even if I myself also don't want much if anything to do with the majority of people who make up the game's more vocal fandom.

The games - for what they set out to be - are actually effective. They're not bad. Some are even fun. But as I've quietly watched the forum this last month it's become readily apparent that people have mercilessly spammed the subject to death. There's no reason for that, and it's also counterproductive which seems evident to all but those who keep up the spamming.

If any FNAF fans and hopefuls bother to read this post, please try to take something from it: I'm with you guys in feeling that FNAF and Springtrap have some pretty cool aesthetics. I can understand why you want to see them in a game like this. But by being so aggressive about your wishes, you're just leaving a very poor impression of your fandom. The DBD community doesn't want to be invaded. It's not about hatred for the franchise, it's about being pestered mercilessly about the same topic over and over again. Be patient, let the topic breathe, give people a break. No one wants to hear the same things said to them every single day. Maybe in time FNAF will become a part of DBD. I don't have a preference about this one way or another. I'm just hoping that maybe, as someone who understands the love of the games a little bit more than maybe the average DBD player, you guys can understand when I tell you that trying to win approval for the concept by making thread after thread about the topic is not the right way to go about it.

  • I'll be keeping at least one, in loving memory.

  • Not opposed, no. While I myself sometimes burn offerings to interrupt the monotony of getting the same handful of maps over and over (I've noticed that it seems - SEEMS - like the maps that people keep getting almost appear to differ based on which character or characters are being played), it's not terribly necessary to me and I can see how the cons can outweigh the pros. I don't advocate anything being removed from the game but map offerings can provide players with inherent advantages that arbitrarily increase their chance of success. That's a bit of a balancing issue.

If there's anything I would openly approve of losing though it would be fog offerings. The fog is all but nonexistent in this game now (I recently watched footage of the game's first year or so of release and was outright astonished by how much more atmospheric and immersive the fog made the game at that time). Now, it's been tested and confirmed by multiple users to basically remain the same nearly nonexistent little wisps regardless of what fog offerings are played, so at this point they're literally a redundant gameplay mechanic, a useless waste of BP. I'd get rid of those before even considering any other offerings.

  • I would be perfectly fine with the map's general structure and layout being recreated without the Stranger Things license and adjusted for balance beforehand if deemed necessary. That would be absolutely fine with me. I'm not lamenting the map because I personally greatly enjoy it (which I do, on both sides), I'm lamenting the fact that any map is being removed, period. That's one less unique thing in this game for some people to look forward to. If this is an opportunity to turn a negative into a positive, I'm all for it. I just don't want things to start disappearing.

This is a ######### thing to make a whole thread about, dude. You don't have to be disappointed like some of us but you really don't have to be a douche about it.

I understand the joy that some are feeling but making a post about that joy is provocative at the very least.

As with all live-service games, frequent updates, additions, and the occasional change are to be expected.

this is the vaguest response to what probably was netflix increasing the cost of renewing the license and bhvr saying "######### that"

In all fairness that's the cost of doing business. In this modern age, when you buy a game, you're actually paying for the right to "lease" it. They can change it whenever they want, for whatever reasons they want. Granted, if a developer or publisher want to maintain a positive image it's generally in their best interests to keep things at a minimum, but the fact that they're not being completely transparent with us as to the reasoning actually isn't an aspect of this situation that bothers me. BHVR is beholden to their contracts, their copyrights, their licensees, their NDAs. We, as the audience, are - as the old saying goes - on a "need to know basis". And we don't NEED to know why these changes are being made right now.

It's perfectly normal to be concerned. I am, just like most others here. But I won't be demanding any answers because I've come to accept that this is just how things work. If there's information that BHVR can legally share and thinks that it will be to everyone's benefit to do so, they will. If not, I trust that there are legitimate reasons for it. It's a bummer, but it's just how things are.

  • A side question: When do the sales take effect in-game? I launched it an hour ago and not only are there no sales on any Stranger Things content, there's no in-game announcement of it either (there's also no notice about this on this forum's news page, where I think it would be worth making the comment). Anyway my point is that while I guess I need to re-read the release, I thought that the sales were effective immediately.

Hear hear. I love Mikey and the whole Halloween license. Judging by the stats on Mikey's pick rates, so would a hell of a lot of other players miss him, too.

Yeah I mean to be perfectly honest I don't especially love games with Michael myself, but I would never celebrate or advocate for his removal. I feel like doing so would be extremely selfish on my part.

The swamp maps, Trickster, certain perks and whatnot. I would join a discussion about how these things could potentially be improved but unless they were legitimately interfering with the functionality of the game I would NEVER call for their outright removal nor be happy to see them taken from others.

I don't like the map but I agree with you. However, I don't think anyone is mocking the ones who love the map. We are free to like/dislike it, to celebrate its disappearance/to be sad it'll be gone for good.

No one's being personally attacked about it and I respect the fact that there are those who hate the map. I have no problem with that. What I don't like is the need for some people to openly express satisfaction about this - it's a forum, that's still their right, but what good does it do? What is the end goal of celebrating something being removed if not to laugh at those who are going to lose out on something they like, and the person making the post does not?

More to the point though, I simply don't understand why some people aren't looking at the bigger picture. If the content works, and its existence doesn't revolve a glitch or an exploit or does something to cause technical problems within the game, then the worth of that content comes down to individual, subjective enjoyment of it. Some people don't like it, but some people do. And as long as there are those that do, it is a loss - a lessening of the game - for that content to be taken away. This isn't a good thing. This does not HELP the game. This makes the game worse for some people. More importantly, it opens the door for this kind of thing to happen again, ESPECIALLY if the developers see that players are vocally supportive of it. We shouldn't be.

  • @Jago said:

Honestly, wouldnt be a big loss. Michael is outdated and Haddonfield... Still exists.

I will just never get this mentality.

"I don't like them, so who cares if they're taken from someone else. Let content that I don't personally enjoy be stripped from the game willy-nilly, there's nothing wrong with that".

  • @GeneralV said:

Agreed. Regardless of the reasons those licenses joined the Fog in the first place, money comes first in this atrocious we live in, and if the deal stops being lucrative the license holders will not hesitate to quit.

The only thing we can do is hope that a situation like this won't happen again.

Off-topic: It is so damn good to see you again, my dear friend! I missed you.

Thank you General. I've kept up with the forum and have missed the chance to share some (occasionally useful) opinions as well. I think that some of the things that caused my break were somewhat misconstrued, or at least the intention behind them was, so I guess it's just my responsibility to be more careful about how I express things in the future. Honestly I didn't think that anyone would notice or care that I was gone, so I sincerely appreciate your warm welcome. :)

As for the matter at hand, I think a number of us are in agreement. Do I hate the swamp maps? Oh boy, you bet. But as far as I can tell they work as intended and aren't directly attributable to any game-breaking technical issues. For that reason, even though I hate the maps, I would be very disappointed to see them removed. Why? Because (A) there are other players who do like them, and (B), more importantly, the removal of things that we were previously given is not something that I think should be celebrated or encouraged. If something is broken and can't be fixed, sure. And if it's a contractual thing as this obviously is, I do understand. But to openly applaud the decision is to say that we're perfectly okay with it in principle. That does nothing but encourage it to happen again.

I’m aware it means further licenses are in question but tell me have you ever seen a good designed licensed map? This opens up the chance for the devs to add a map that’s original and actually well designed.

I am of course fine with you having your own opinion on anything in this game, that much doesn't concern me. I understand that some people hate the map and that's perfectly okay, that is everyone's right.

What concerns me is the bigger picture, the fact this his happening at all. Things being taken away from players of this game - while of course not the end of the world - is not a practice that we, as players, should be encouraging. How we feel has no bearing and I understand that, this is obviously a legal issue. But what I'm saying is that a game's available, properly functioning content being reduced - not expanded - is not something that we, as players, should ever encourage.

Again, I honestly DO understand those who hate the map, even if I myself don't. There are maps I don't like too. And as stated, I also very much understand that this is a legal / contractual issue and that it's not something in our control. I'm just saying that in my opinion, joy and satisfaction is generally not the sentiment that should be expressed to the developers when they take something away.

  • @SirGando said:

i actually dont really mind it, cause im not a fan of stranger things. im glad the map will be gone though.

That's not really the right way to look at this situation. I'm not encouraging doom or telling anyone how to feel but my belief is that being unconcerned with the removal of ANY content (but especially when that lack of concern is directly related to one's own subjective opinion of the content) is a dangerous way to approach things as a player and consumer.

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

Losing game content should NEVER be celebrated. Now it's something you don't like, but in the future it may not.

Right. I think that players who are happy about this are not looking at the objective, longterm ramifications of what this could mean for the game.

  • @GeneralV said:

Truth be told, all of them are in constant danger.

I agree, and that's what worries me.

Even if this winds up being an isolated incident (which I hope it is), this is not something that should be celebrated. This is something that should cause players concern.

  • My guess - and it is just that, a guess - is that the terms of the license are simply expiring and that the loss of the Hawkins map is in some way due to its nature as the one free element of the package that was provided to all players regardless of whether they purchased any Stranger Things content.

I'm not sure if we'll ever know. I just hope that the removal of major content like maps or characters doesn't become a trend. I don't want this to be setting a precedent for the game. Regardless of how I or anyone else may subjectively feel about the various content in Dead By Daylight, the removal of any of that content is not an inherently positive thing.

  • I loved the map. Always. Didn't matter if I was playing as survivor or killer, didn't matter if I won or lost. didn't matter if it was a 20 minute showdown or a five minute slaughter. I always had fun on that map.

I raise a glass to Hawkins. Here's to hoping that at some point its general structure could perhaps be redesigned without the Stranger Things license, and to letting anyone else who was a fan know that you are absolute not alone in your sadness and frustration. Losing beloved content shouldn't happen to ANY fans of this game. It's a loss no matter how you look at it, and I hope that no one has to go through it again - REGARDLESS of whether I like that content or not.

Here's to you, Hawkins Laboratory. Thank you for the fun.

  • The Hawkins map is game content. I don't understand why I should celebrate game content being taken away. I personally very much love that map, it's one of my top few favorites as survivor AND killer. Losing it only makes the game worse for me, and for other people who feel the same, and taking joy in that fact is a pretty ######### thing to do.

There are maps, killers and other things in this game that I don't like but I'm not so selfish as to think that they should be removed just to please ME, nor would I go openly "celebrate" (ie mock and rub it in the faces) of those who enjoy that content.

  • A couple of weeks ago I was playing a pretty fun, competitive game which came down to myself and one other survivor, maybe two gens left. After a little while - five to ten minutes - I started to realize that I hadn't seen the last survivor in a very long time. Maybe even the whole game, I don't recall. It also seemed like the killer was tunneling me.

Lo and behold, once the killer got me and hooked me, I was able to see the aura of that nice other survivor just hiding behind walls on the other side of the map. What do you know, as soon as I got to the match result screen, there she was. Wonder how that happened.

Nah it's cool, screw you too.

  • Hey everyone, if you didn't already get the notification the Steam summer sale just began. Last time this happened Nintendo also launched an identical sale on the game and almost all of its DLC so if anyone's been waiting for the prices to drop on some missing stuff, regardless of your gaming machine of choice, now's definitely a good time to see if you can get it on the cheap.

I completely agree because once Jason grabs you, it's over unless you have a pocket knife/a buddy nearby to strike him. I've had moments where I hid inside a wardrobe and watched him walk past me and moments where I danced with all of the other counselors while Jason was breaking down the door. That game allows you to be so free in what you do and I wish DBD felt the same way, considering there's multiple ways to escape rather than just one.

Dammit, all of this talk makes me want to go play it now.. wish me luck trying to find a lobby lol

LOL well if you do go to play then yes indeed, I wish you luck on finding a lobby. I haven't played in quite some time, I honestly thought for a while that the game had just been shut down altogether.

  • EDIT: Somehow misunderstood the OP. Ignore.

I have had an issue for while where I NEED to load up OBS after a game is launched, otherwise the streamed framerate is something stupid like 20~. This isn't as much of an issue, but it makes switching games in stream basically impossible unless I restart stream which is very annoying.

Anyone know of any ways to change this?

I used OBS for a little while but found that I liked Bandicam more, which is what I use now (should you decide to switch at any time and want to try some settings, feel free to seek me out). I also think that some of my older videos which have mistimed audio came as the result of using OBS. That issue is probably on my end though.

While I no longer have OBS installed, I do remember that the games I tried to record with it - including DBD - ran worse unless I played the game in windowed mode. This may be a stupid question but have you tried playing that way?

  • You know, these really aren't the responses I expected. It makes me feel good that despite the fact that so many players feel otherwise I'm not the only person who is willing to stand by this game despite the issues, imperfections and (hopefully temporary) inconveniences.

I know.. it made you feel like you were in an actual horror movie, especially when you were the last counselor running from house to house setting traps at the door and waiting for Jason to come in while you had your flare gun at the ready. Good motherfucking times man. Good. Times.

Heh I was, as I always am, a stealth guy more than anything so I got my rushes from getting away from Jason, jumping under a bed, and hoping that he didn't know that I was there. That's one of the things I loved about the game - the emphasis on hiding as opposed to direct confrontation. This game's the reverse, and that's fine because at least both options are available, but it's one thing to briefly hide in a locker and have your teammates yell at you for it and another thing altogether to have 50 hiding places that you NEED to use lest you die and die quick. Jason was OP - in a way that made me not enjoy playing him, to be honest - but because the game DID have a strong emphasis on hiding and sneaking that made his ridiculous OTT powers okay.

But flare gun or no, I totally agree, it was loads of fun to have something like a square mile to just run all over the place hoping like hell that Jason didn't happen to be near. As much as I love DBD, I have to admit that F13 did make the matches feel like they took place in actual locations, not prearranged battle arenas. Maybe that's why I like indoor maps so much? They feel more like real places to me.

  • @GrimmGaliard said:

If you can come up with a similar pity system for killers, I'm down for it

Were you responding to me? If so I'd be okay with that, I guess just depending on what it is the killers would want pity for. In the survivor's case, being camped on the hook means that their agency is removed, they've literally lost the ability to play. Their chance of enjoying the rest of the match is almost entirely dependent upon everyone else in the game except themselves. I'm not anywhere near as experienced with killers and can't currently think of a similar situation for them, in which they're literally unable to do anything, but if there IS a situation in which the survivors can basically prevent them from playing then yes, "mercy bloodpoints" for them would only be fair.

  • @Karao_Ke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2307711#Comment_2307711

It really does. What makes it even more sad is that the devs created a roadmap of all of the things they were going to add into the game, some of which they directly listened to the fans for, and it all got thrown away because of the lawsuit. That game could've been so much more, and now I can't even get into a damn lobby.

I was actually going to mention that roadmap! I remember it, I think they either debuted it, or I happened to first see it, just when I began playing. It was cool, it was a literal illustrated map that charted exactly what they were working on and in what order. I remember seeing that single player mode and being stoked. It didn't wind up being very good, but again, it's not like they were given much of a chance.

There are some things I REALLY miss about that game. The maps were MASSIVE and felt like actual, honest to god woods and campgrounds. I wouldn't want every DBD map to be like that but you bet I'd like at least some to be. The ability to run back and forth between a bunch of different cabins, sneak around the forest, swim across the lake, etc. That was so much fun. That was a really great game to play survivor on (not that I feel DBD isn't, just saying). And the fidelity to the source material, man. Just a TOTAL labor of love.

I'll say it again. Just a shame. Just a real, real shame.

  • @Karao_Ke said:

I'm honestly not sure. Maybe I'll stray away from DBD once it has proper competition, just like Friday The 13th would've been if it wasn't for the lawsuit. Until then, I plan to keep booping snoots and patting Demodogs.

Hopefully the new Evil Dead game lives up to it's expectations..

The F13 game was never truly given the chance to meet its full potential. Players were complaining, griefers were griefing, and then the damn lawsuit. It's a shame. I still prefer DBD in most (but not all) ways but competition is always good and that lawsuit ######### sucks.

  • A very long time to be honest. I know that's not the answer most people want to see, but here's the thing: I'm new to the game (about to start my fourth month) and thus haven't had to endure years of ups and downs like some of the rest of you poor guys have. I'm lucky enough, I guess, to be able to say that this is my first "problem period" with the game. And the last few times I played (which were admittedly before the hotfix, so I can't speak for the state of the game at this EXACT stage) went just fine. I assume that the issues that are being experienced right now - the major ones such as crashes or freezes or major lag spikes and maps not working correctly - will be fixed soon enough.

I know, you're all saying "HAHA, I can TELL you're new here" but eh. I spent half a decade on the THQ forums, playing the yearly WWE games and dealing with every possible response to every possible bug and every possible request from every possible type of player with every possible type of attitude so everything that you guys are experiencing right now is pretty old hat to me. Even the comments about wanting someone other than "an inept developer like BHVR" to handle the game, "someone who actually gives a #########", is something I've heard a thousand times. People were saying that on the regular up until 2K bought the WWE license, and now everyone's saying the same exact things five years later, lol.

In short, I love the game and will continue to play it until something egregious happens and I see ample evidence that the developers have no intention of doing anything about it.

you realize almost every game that has cross play allows MNK on console right?

Really? No, I guess I didn't. Then again I don't have any of the new consoles so I suppose I wouldn't, I only play on the PC or the Lite.

  • Funnily enough I was just mentioning last week that I got only my 3rd or 4th 4K (I've had the game for three months and in those three months have only played as killer maybe a few dozen times) but felt bad about it not because it was out of my control, but because the final survivor had totally earned an escape and I didn't let her have it.

The match unfolded in such a way that I slugged a survivor without realizing it - I thought she ran past me to flee around a wall but instead had actually fallen into the grass, and I was immediately distracted by another survivor nearby - and had the uncommon luck of finding and swatting the other three survivors in quick succession. I hooked them all then ran around looking for that survivor I thought had slipped me by, wondering why she wasn't going after her teammates. It was then that I glanced over at the icons and saw that she was on the ground. I'm not the kind of player that gets anything out of camping, tunneling or leaving someone slugged, so I immediately ran back to find her. I did, pretty quickly, and thus had to make a quick decision - do I let her go because I felt guilty for unintentionally slugging her and leaving her to crawl for a good minute or more? Or do I just go ahead and wrap up the match and get my first recorded 4K?

I felt honest guilt but thought "ah jeez, let me just hook her and be done with it, hopefully she (or he, I don't know the player's identity) will focus more on having lasted til the end instead of having been forced to crawl around. But then she wiggles free JUST as I'm about to leave her on the hook! So now my instincts kick in and I'm like "oh crap, I have to get her before she disappears". I catch up with her, down her, and again have to wonder what to do. I tell myself "you'll never get any 4Ks if you always let someone live, just do it and you can both move right on to the next match". I hook her. As she goes through the sacrifice animation I realize that she knew where the hatch was and had been desperately making a run of it before I caught her and hooked her - FIVE FEET FROM THE ######### HATCH. Then, in reviewing my footage, I was reminded of the fact that this was her second hook because she was the first person I hooked in the match - right away, when she was (surely unintentionally) AFK and just standing completely vulnerable for the first 30 seconds of the match.

Man, now I feel like ######### again. Go away. Shut up.

  • I think I'm in the minority when I call Bubba Leatherface. I guess, being from Wisconsin and hearing all the references to Ed Gein in relation to the film, I never saw him as "Bubba". On a similar note I also call The Pig Amanda. I was a big fan of the Saw movies a decade before this game was released, I can't picture Shawnee Smith under the costume and think "Oh hey look who's chasing me, it's Pig".

I also call The Doctor Doc.

...I guess that's it. I'm not very imaginative, am I?

  • True, the console manufacturers would have to integrate such things (even a Microsoft 360 controller will not work on Microsoft PCs without an additional adapter to make the two recognize one another) or, at the very least, allow a third party to do so. As popular as some M&K games are, my guess is that there isn't enough demand for console manufacturers to deem it economically viable. Or that's their belief, at least.

I think Jack Baker would have a place in DBD as a unique killer. Call him 'The Moulded' or 'The Father' or something, lore wise he'd be a very unique killer - an unwilling but crazed father. And gameplay wise, I like the idea of a third Chainsaw character simply because chainsaws are an icon of horror and I can't get enough of them. His scissor chainsaws could work differently like perhaps he can do long range stabs over windows and pallets, or perhaps add an element of temporary terrain destruction that the entity quickly repairs. Like Imagine him busting through an L loop with his big chainsaw scissors to down you. Maybe even throw in some passive ability where he leaves pools of mould that can become moulded ai or something?

In terms of chapters, I honestly see potential for 2 extra chapters; An RE7 and an RE8 chapter. RE7 would be Jack Baker and Mia Winters, RE8 obviously Lady Dimitrescu and Ethan Winters.

Well I personally love pretty much everything about Jack, including his (very unique) chainsaw shears, I just figure that if he were added there would be a torrent of complaints (valid or otherwise) that amount to "A THIRD chainsaw killer? And Billy is already ignored as it is".

I'm with you, I just don't think that the majority of other players would be.

  • I did once have a killer just circle me and repeatedly celebrate (in this case the Wraith - old Wraith no less, not even the modern cheap one - and it was incessant ringing of his bell, not attacks). Never had any other killers act like children since that one.

  • It was a lot of fun. Not just because it was new, but because there was SO much to it. It's super complex but not so hard that it's impossible to learn. Matches took about ten minutes, I think the killer won most of the ones I was in (it's been a while). Lots going on - hallways, stairs, balconies, wide open areas, little hidey areas, some outdoor sections, etc. Such a unique map.

I just quoted you and skipped all the other comments because someone has probably already complained about the map being garbage (because it's indoors and / or survivor sided, as the old complaints go) and that the map should never be enabled again, or at best should be split into smaller maps, which quite frankly I'm tired of wasting my time disagreeing with. It's a quality map, hopefully you and everyone else waiting patiently for it will get to play it soon.

  • LOL I love the aura builds myself. For a while now I've been exclusively using Bound, Dark Sense, and Kindred. Prove Thyself is the current substitute until I can get Ace's aura perk. These all go a long way in helping me to enjoy stealth play.

I've stayed away from playing as killer, for the most part, for a long time now. Well, most of the 3 months that I've had the game, I mean. But as of last week I finally found one that I felt relatively comfortable with and committed to him, and now I'm feeling less anxiety and uncertainty when I play the killer role. I don't have all the perks memorized either (I'm never going to, especially since the combined playerbase uses probably...twenty of them).

  • That butt, man. My sweet sweet sugar, that butt...

  • "I'm not going to show my name so they can't take this away and I can keep earning more. I don't play the game by the way".

    That's.......huh?

People who believe BHVR would just straight up delete a map are super ignorant to be honest, I wouldn't take them seriously as they don't know nothing about game industry.

Oh I agree, I understand that when most people say "delete the map" they're likely just expressing their dislike for it in a hyperbolic way. I try not to make literal comments like that myself but that's just me, I guess my slips are different. But the ones who DO insist that "no, the map sucks, everyone hates it, you're in the minority so you shouldn't have a say in this" (which, believe it or not, I HAVE had someone say to me about a map they didn't like) just perpetuate my annoying habit of popping up to challenge the deletion comments.

It's not that I want to force people to change their minds on what they don't like, it's more of a concern of their complaints gathering enough momentum to make a difference. I know that simply saying "Hey BHVR, this sucks, get rid of it" isn't going to directly affect anything, I just feel that if a bunch of people complain about something enough and they catch wind of it, and there aren't any dissenting voices to disagree, then they might start to assume that most or all people are in agreement on the issue and remember it come "bugfix" time.

Might as well throw in my own experience. Me and a friend were playing 2man, and asked the Dwight in our lobby to put on OOO and form a Conga Line with us. He agreed, and we all spawned together so we made a conga line. Crouched, one after the other, all 3 of us staring at the killer so he knew exactly what we were doing. Blendette joined us after about 10 seconds.

    He farmed with us :)

Also, I was solo with a Nea called "Chromatica". We quoted Lady Gaga lyrics in the pre-game chat but that was it. We do a gen and I just start crouching randomly. She follows behind us and then this random Ace, being chased by a Pinky Finger Clown (while Kate is on the hook lol) just joins us. Clown farmed with us

It was a really nice couple of experiences. Naturally I faced 3 Stridor Spirit's in a row the next day.

LOL that sounds legit hilarious. I would lose my ######### if this were to happen in my game. Especially if the killer joined too. XD

But wait, that name you specified: We CAN provide names if it's a positive experience? There have been people I've played with who I had such a good impression of that I was almost desperate to mention who they were and publicly thank them for the great game but refrained because I thought that this still fell under the "name and shame" rule.

And yet when i just don't want to join in with that they tell me to kms in endgame chat. That's why i hate a majority of the playerbase

I haven't had the suicide suggestion yet, that would be an instant report. I HAVE had someone write like five lines, one after another, going on and on about how miserable the other survivors allegedly were. "If someone called you worthless that would be a compliment", lol. Again, I report, chuckle, and move on with my life. Ya gotta do it man, don't let the stupidity of some random salty keyboard warrior ruin your good time.

  • Anyone know what tome this one's in? I'd like to try it.

    It is.

I understand why people don't like going against new Wraith. If you don't get the stun & they have shadowdance/brutal strength or windstorm + swift hunt and there aren't many interconnected tiles you're kinda just SOL. And not being able to see him coming at mach speeds until the very last second isn't great (when they're doing hit & run). But it doesn't really compare to Slinger/PH/Nemesis and their different levels of nonsense.

What I hate about Wraith is that it's way too easy for him to get free hits now. From the sounds of it though (and the fact that many people agree with you guys that Deathslinger is annoying to face) I believe your description. I wouldn't want to be playing the game with this constant uncertain mindgame following behind me everywhere I go.

Don't have a problem with Pyramid Head or Nemesis (yet, lol).

The thing is that Wraith's bell mindgame is more fair. There's an opportunity to guess correctly (whether they fake it or not) and come out on top.

With Slinger, it's just gun up, gun down, gun up, gun down, gun up, gun down, gun up SHOT. Or in a lot of situations, just getting shot through windows or at pallets they can still get hits around with good positioning. There's very little you can do other than hope they miss.

Ah, I see. That's a fair argument. I've never experienced it but based on the way you just described it, yeah, I could see that as being more stressful and irritating than fun.

  • Thanks for this. I absolutely abhor twitter so I likely wouldn't have known about this had someone not posted it here.

  • In my opinion, if a character is original and the desire is to mix and match different pieces (head, torso, legs) between themselves and NOT other characters (in other words the cosmetic glitch, a whole separate issue), players should always be able to. A set made for a character should always be split into three individual pieces, for individual purchase (if so desired) and swapping between that same character. If they clip, so be it. There are minor clipping issues in virtually every game that exists.

  • I just remembered that there was a match I played once against The Twins on Lery's. It was a while back when I was still fairly brand new, and I didn't quite understand what I was seeing. I started the match, eventually rounded a corner and saw the open "monitoring" or "testing" area, and in it were the other three survivors, surrounding Victor in a very tight circle, repeatedly ducking in front of him. To be honest it kind of made me uncomfortable, like I'd stepped into some kind of weird sex ritual or something, lol.

    What were they doing?
