If you can't stand the opinions of others, just don't comment, you seem like a kid getting so defensive.
The map seems very bad to me, comparable to Hawkins, I just warn people who haven't played it so that you don't have high expectations. If in the end they play it and like it, good for them, but getting so defensive because my opinion is different from yours is from a very childish mind.
I think that using terminology that appears to be some kind of vague threat because you don't like something in the game is more childish than what I said, but I guess we all have our perspectives. As for being defensive I simply changed your script to offer my own take.
"The map better stay off". Of course someone's going to comment on a post like that. If YOU can't stand someone having an opinion that differs from your own, maybe you shouldn't invite them with such provocative statements.

It's going to be a nightmare. Glad DC penalties are off since I'm not playing on that map.
It actually isn't that bad man, it really isn't. I can sympathize with really hating a map, there are some I just can't stand either. But really, when I played it it wasn't the problem that everyone seemed to want to make it to be. Matches didn't take inordinately long (10 minutes for pretty much every one of them), people weren't just running around confused not able to find other characters or their goals, etc. Killers (though mostly Nemesis, true) didn't seem to have any trouble whatsoever getting kills. The games typically came down to 1-2 gens with the killer winning, which I find is often the case. In other words, in my experience, the map really wasn't much different from any other despite the size and complexity.
Give it a chance man, play it for a while when they reactivate it. You may still dislike it, but at least you might find that it's not the abysmal nightmare that you're expecting it to be. I mean at least it's not the swamp, right?

Trust me, this map better stay off. I played it a lot both as a survivor and as a killer in the PTB and for both of them it seems like a sh*t map.
Better stay off or what, you'll drive a bulldozer into BHVR's offices?
Trust ME - I played it as both survivor and killer in the PTB as well and I enjoyed it greatly. Different strokes for different folks.

Let it stay gone. I hate that map.
Nope. I have to play maps that I hate, and so do you. So does everyone. That's how this game works. Plenty of people want the map and we're looking forward to getting it.

I've not noticed a difference in gameplay whether one of my characters is wearing the charm or not. Similarly I played as killer all night, I paid no attention whatsoever to the charms.
-
Hmm...I went from about 19 to 37 or so with Doctor just tonight and it took maybe...30 games at an average of 22,000 bp each? Something like that? Depending on how you work the bloodweb and what items you purchase I'd say past 500,000 but less than 800,000. Somewhere in that range.

I would LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this.

The game IS admittedly dark on my LIte, yes. But I just jack the brightness of the system to max and it makes a noticeable difference.
It sucks having to turn it back down for pretty much every single other game, as you mentioned, but in my case it DOES solve the problem. An in-game brightness slider (within reason) would be welcome.

Nah sorry too many trials in 4 years with getting dodged out of the gate (with or without deadhard). Just tired at this point of the attitude, i play without tunneling, switch map sides once I hook someone and don't run either boring killer not boring slowdown perks and they still think they can have an attitude because I let them escape at that point?
They can suit themselves and spam notification for 2 minutes but I won't give them an audience anymore.
To each their own. You aren't obligated of course, but I find that looking past the immaturity and being friendly the taunters at the gate is often to my benefit and, if nothing else, alleviates the frustration I might normally feel. You have to understand that the nature of this game is to see the other side as a faceless enemy - some jerk trying to ruin the game, controlling a big ugly avatar. But when you show some humanity at the end, I'm telling you, they often drop the juvenile theatrics and accept that you're not so bad after all.
Again, to each their own. I just like spreading positivity and sportsmanship in-game when I can. I'm reminded of Scrooge's nephew in A Christmas Carol, whose attitude is "hey, it costs me nothing to be nice and usually I get niceness in return. I like it".
-
On Switch / Lite, you can hold a button immediately after whatever happened and the system will automatically record the last 30 seconds of gameplay and turn it into a rewatchable clip. Do any of the other consoles have that?
For PC I record all of my matches and keep the best ones after review, often cutting out fun little moments like the one you describe. Check out Bandicam or OBS (I have an easier time with Bandicam myself) if you're interested.
-
Honestly since I first began playing the game several months ago the gates have always been random for me. Sometimes along the same long wall, sometimes as far apart on the (massive) map as you could possibly get. Of course some maps, such as Lery's and Midwich, have default exit doors that are the same each time, but other ones are pretty random. At least for me. I never know where most of them will turn up until I begin the game.

A good portion still even denies those last hits even via deadhard. One of the reasons I prefer going for left over pallets/breakable wall/other sources of bp for me. Or i simply shift my attention to YouTube on my second screen or reqd on these forums.
When I "befriend" the survivors, as described above, at least one or two will often come out of the gate, point at me, duck (not teabag, but actually "bow"), and just to make sure that I'm not betraying their trust I'll back up first before I swing, like "is this what you're asking me to do"? They will then nod and / or walk up to me again or wave me to them. I give them a smack, that's when they tend to rush toward the exit (just preservation instinct I suppose) but will still often stop to nod at me beforehand.
Seriously you guys, you should try this. When you get to the exit gate - where you KNOW there will be survivors waiting to taunt you - just be nice to them. As counterintuitive as that may seem, you can often turn negative feelings into positive ones, end the game on mutually respectful terms, and maybe even get some free bloodpoints out of it too.
-
Taunting at the gate is lame and immature but there are two three things to keep in mind about it:
- As lame and irritating / insulting as it is, at the end of the day these are random strangers you don't know, who don't know you. You're all just anonymous silhouettes behind computer monitors and will almost absolutely be guaranteed to never come anywhere close to meeting them in real life (chances of ever encountering them again in the game is pretty low too). It isn't personal, so try not to take it that way. It's just DBD's equivalent of spiking the football.
- It's basically just a meme at this point. Everyone knows that this what most survivors do, so they just do it. It's just a thing. It's so common as to be meaningless.
- I've personally found that if I don't give in and rush them or anything, if I just stand at the entrance to the gates and nod, it will often surprise the teabaggers and make them stop doing it. They will often, in fact, nod back. They seem to see that, as the killer, I'm saying "hey guys, good game, I had fun", and that tends to wipe away the immaturity more times than not. It's as if they realize "oh, the killer's not mad, he's actually being cool", and respond in kind.
I used to be really aggravated when people teabagged and celebrated at the exit gates but now I don't let it bother me at all. They're just goofballs laughing about the fact that they won, but by shrugging it off and saying "hey, it's fine, it happens" and giving them a few nods, maybe even spinning in a circle, doing a little dance, they'll change their tune and actually change their taunts to friendly gestures. Hell, sometimes they even come out of the exit gates and chase with me, get in my face and ask for a free hit (which helps them AND you to scrape up some extra points) and - most importantly of all - it greatly reduces the agitation that comes with their stupid behavior.
TL;DR: As annoying as exit gate shenanigans are, if you visually demonstrate to them that you're the bigger man (or woman) and simply nod and show them that you accept their victory, they will often change their tone from a disrespectful one to one that's more friendly. And even if not, these people are just internet randoms. Don't let them get to you.

I've finally become comfortable with my first killer, the Doctor. I played several matches with him tonight, one of which was on Coldwind. There was a Jane Romero who, if she sees this, may remember me. I'd downed a Claudette but then let her get saved because I realized that she was AFK when I hit her. If you see this Jane, you were really good.
But then I had an EPIC match on Badham. Again, as Doctor. This just happened 10-15 minutes ago and while I doubt they'll ever see this, if they do, they'll remember it. The match lasted half an hour and the final gen was finished in the upstairs house. It was a couple of Claudettes and a Feng, plus I think a David that I got early. The other three were in the game that entire half hour and was intense back and forth cat and mouse, a stalemate for at least 10 minutes or more as I dominated the final three gens. But they finally broke my guard and made it.
That's not the most popular map and the game was completely at a standstill for the entire second half, and these players could have gotten frustrated and DC'd. They didn't though, they persevered, played smart, and finally eked out a victory. I wish so much that they would have been able to see my post-match message congratulating them. They were so tenacious! A couple of them were on their second hooks but they kept going and persevered.
I know we can't call out any names but if, by slim chance, any of the ladies (or gents who played them) see this, you know who you are K., U., and X. Thanks for such a great game.
-
This subject is completely anecdotal, but here are my findings over the course of three months of playing the game as a solo survivor main:
Snotty post-match comments from fellow survivors: Roughly two dozen
Snotty post-match comments from killers: Zero
To cover the other elements of this discussion: I HAVE had some nice conversations with fellow survivors after the match. Just brief "wow, that was a fun game, that was tricky", etc., that kind of thing. Not often, but it happens. Even so, I've still gotten probably twice that number from the killer. "You guys were really good", or "that was a close one, GG", or "you made a great opponent, gl in your next match", that kind of thing. I've even had a killer apologize for not being better, or admit to having made some mistakes to which I always let them know that hey, nah, you were good!
Similarly, I've been given the hatch probably half a dozen times, and carried to (or just allowed, as they stood and nodded) the exit gates. To be fair, unlike someone else said, I HAVE in fact had a survivor or two offer themselves to be sacrificed, tried to repay me for letting them farm, and I wouldn't have it.
Generally my ratio of receiving "GG" after a match has been roughly even.
As a survivor I never teabag or mock the killer with gestures, if I get the exit gates I just pass by the players who are doing that. As killer I enjoy letting survivors live and always try to nod at them at the exit gates whether they realize this or not. When I do this, if the survivors seem to catch on that I'm deliberately being merciful, they WILL often stop with the teabagging and whatnot and nod back before exiting, or sometimes even offer their item as a thank-you.
So really, it's a mixed bag. In my experience killer mains are far more vocal and defensive here on the forum, but in-game survivors tend to be far more immature. In the end I think it often comes down to the individual, and the circumstances.

I would love to delete mist, basement and hatch offerings first tbh
I would enjoy the mist addons if I felt that they made any significant difference. But since the devs seem to have eliminated the mist altogether they're pretty much worthless. Those and the "hatch / basement spawn" offerings. Between those and the mist addons I always have about 30 or 40 just sitting there doing nothing, waiting to be thrown away by the time I go to prestige. That's around 150,000 BP or more that just goes to waste. I don't use these when I play so I'm certainly not going to spam dozens of matches just to make sure that they get used before I start back over at level 1.
EDIT: I forgot the luck offerings, which appear to do nothing as well. And the "start with other survivors" offerings, which just make things easier for the killer. Then there are the flashlight and map add-ons, and I never use flashlights or maps.
...Good lord, I just realized that like half my BP are completely wasted. Now I'm depressed. :(

I see so many of these circular discussions so often. Each "side" spinning its wheels, occasionally some really good and reasonable posts interrupting the flow of biased judgmental negativity.
How about this: What do the stats have to reflect for each side to be happy? To think that the game isn't arbitrarily built for one side to have an advantage? A perfect 50/50 percentage rate? Because guess what: That ain't ever gonna happen.
-
I understand the idea but would not like that system myself. I feel that the generator balance is good as it is, at least 50-60 percent of my games end with the killer getting everybody by the time that there are perhaps 1 or 2 generators left.
-
I wouldn't mind the removal of the map offerings, the pros listed are pretty good reasons.
That said, I would only be in favor of it on one condition: The map rotation would have to be reworked. There are maps I hardly ever see (I mean literally like once every 50 or 100 games) and then there's Coldwind, MacMillan and Autohaven. Throw the stupid swamps in there too.
Someone said this before, it's not my idea, but it's a good one: The randomization needs to look at the realm FIRST before picking the map. When some realms have a single map and some realms have five, there's an obvious imbalance (see the realms I listed above). I like Coldwind fine but I'm sick of getting it literally half the damn games that I play. I would have no need to use a map offering if the game paid attention to how frequently certain realms were represented. Every individual map should have an equal chance of showing up an equal amount of times per day. That needs to be fixed.
TL;DR: Sure, get rid of map offerings, but fix the map randomization process so that they're not needed in the first place.

Here's the thing, "when" do we get to Raccoon City back? No one's answer this.
Why do you expect anyone here to know?
I loved the RPD. It was a really fun map that worked fine for the killer players despite how many killer mains on the forum complain about how big and mazelike it is. I've been waiting very excitedly for it too. But on day one the game had a bunch of glitches which the developers linked to the map (erroneously I think, or at least only partially correctly, because the game still has lots of new glitches even with the map turned off) and they said that they'd turn the map back on once they figure out and fix the problems. We'll get it back when we get it back. When it's ready. No one knows when that will be.
As for the DLC, there was no false advertising, they provided everything that was included in the package. Even IF the map weren't a free component that all players get regardless, it is not false advertising to temporarily pull an item that causes unexpected problems and then re-release it when those problems have been worked out. False advertising would be like telling you that by buying the Resident Evil DLC you get twenty new characters. That's obviously false. It's not the same thing.
You're obviously pissed off, and that's understandable to a point, but try to relax and be patient. There are others who are waiting for the map too and we all have to wait, just like you do.

Awww!
Well thats very rare to feel guilty for getting a 4K. (Rare in a good way, I mean)
I’m a very nurturing person in general (maybe you are too) so I tend to have a lot of pity on Survivors when I play Killer, especially because I know how it feels to have a rushed and unfun experience being a Survivor Main. I, too rarely play Killer because its so pressuring and intimidating to me so just like you, I usually play friendly trials just to have fun wholesome matches. It was sweet of you to consider the game ending too fast and stalling a bit. Congrats on the 4K by the way! 💜
Well thank you but really, I'm not sure if I deserve it. I feel bad for the poor player who had to slug (I would never allow someone to remain slugged, I honestly don't know how I missed downing her) and then, after sitting there for however long she had to, crawling around and seeing every other player die one after the next, THEN get that final chance to escape, I really do feel like a heel for hooking her. I know it's the point of the game, I just don't like that it turned out that way. I rarely play killer, when I do play killer I rarely play aggressively, and when I do I'm rarely experienced enough to get a 4K, so I guess it was just wanting to finally get one recorded that led me to go ahead and finish the match, but looking back she's exactly the kind of survivor who I think should have been given the mercy escape. I even apologized after the match but they were either on console or had already moved on, there was no response.
I'm the world's nicest killer, I swear. Lol.
But yeah, Elodie's cool, and I've used Claudette hundreds and hundreds of times. It's weird, I'm a straight member of the community but I find it more fun to use female survivors for some reason. I think I have more sympathy for them? I'm not sure.
You don't feel that you can relate to Adam and Tapp?

As either Survivor or Killer, I really love Midwich. It has great spooky atmosphere, and great visual details.
I love Midwich as well, for exactly the same reasons. Additionally, when I first played Silent Hill back in 1999, I got to Midwich (for those who don't know, within the context of the first SH game Midwich is an elementary school that you enter very early in the game during its first "eclipse", a spooky event in which you hear the now-familiar siren and the game world turns to black night. Once inside the school, you're attacked by what are basically undead children with knives). It's a very creepy and memorable location. But for me, what's even creepier is that after I spent my first night with the game, saving it and going to bed after having gone through a school killing the equivalent of children, I woke up the very next morning to the Columbine massacre. Midwich will always be a strong symbol of creepiness and melancholy for me in a way that many other people can't understand.
As for my own favorite map, it would be The Game. I know that many people hate it but I simply love the design and aesthetic. I love the first three Saw movies and the map is a fond reminder of them, and I also like that it's a complex map with multiple levels as well as a mix of open and narrow areas for lots of places to hide as well as get caught completely exposed.

Right? I wanted to play trickster so bad without being decimated and be able to run fun builds without slow down perks
There would be so many possibilities with a fully customizable bot mode. Even that roulette concept - an option to fully randomize EVERYTHING - would encourage the player to try new characters and new perk builds. It could be such a handy mode. The bot matches have gotten positive feedback so here's hoping that they aren't forgotten amidst the update glitches.

I try to be as peaceful as I can on here, even if I don’t agree with someone’s stance. There enough negativity flowing around & I’m a Unicorn. I’m supposed to be refreshing to be around and beautiful to look at xD
But all joke aside, I do see your point. I still think that she deserved it though. No kicking innocent & sweet Victor’s or I kick you.
LOL I like that you changed your avatar to Elodie after all that. Well, you did say that you wanted to be beautiful and refreshing. :)
I agree, there's too much negativity regarding this game. Way too much. Way too many heated arguments about so many things, many of them so incredibly petty. In a world where so much is wrong, it's a shame that more people can't just enjoy a game together.
Funnily enough, this reminds me of a match I played about 24 hours ago. It was only my 3rd or 4th 4K (again, I rarely play killers and when I do, I'm usually relatively peaceful). I've been learning the Doctor and becoming a little more comfortable with him, so I raised some of his levels and got some extra stuff to see how he'd be once he powered up a bit. It was a good close match, very back and forth, until before I realized it I'd managed to hook two people and down the third. It dawned on me that all of a sudden, just like that, the match could be close to over. There was one gen left. What do I do?
I don't like camping so I ran around a bit but the hooks were close so I didn't stray too far as I carried the third survivor to her hook. By this time the other two players died and I began looking for the fourth. Soon enough, the third survivor died. Was the fourth survivor hiding? Eventually I heard groans and found her on the ground. At some point I'd managed to slug her and didn't realize it. I remembered the last time I'd hit her and thought that she managed to jump through a window and run off. The poor girl had apparently been crawling around for at least a minute and I honestly didn't know. I felt bad.
I got her up and started walking to the nearest hook which, given the last deaths, was a bit distant. As I walked I thought "she's probably gonna wiggle free. What should I do if she does"? Normally I play for fun and goofing around when I'm the killer, but this time I was testing my actual skill with one and doing well. Before I could really come to an answer she got loose and started running. Instinctively I went after her. "This will be one of my only 4Ks, and I'm actually recording this one. I should take her out and have this match as a keepsake". I caught up quickly and downed her. I hooked her and felt even worse.
My point? I got a 4K and felt guilty. And to be honest, I still do!

I would love that!! I would be finally able to play killer without all the anxiety that comes with it.
Exactly! I agree 100 percent. I just got done explaining to another user how I don't usually play multiplayer games and thus don't like being in the position that stands out the most, the character whose every action and every mistake is monitored by all the other players in the game. It's difficult to get good as a killer in this game without feeling like an idiot. A killer practice mode wouldn't be a full replication of what it's like to go against experienced humans, of course, but it WOULD provide players with a venue in which to practice their powers, timing, various strategies, etc. The AI of the basic bot mode as it currently exists is actually pretty good, honestly reasonably lifelike, so to be able to choose the survivor or killer (as well as their perks) would be a great way for people to gain valuable experience without having to worry about feeling foolish or being decimated by other players.

I understand. I guess because I enjoyed the Killer that match and saw that they did not like what was done to them, it triggered my brain to assume Elodie was wrong. She may have just been trying to farm points, but thats hard to believe since she didn’t attack the Victor until she knew for a fact we were getting ready to leave.
Knowing how this community can be and how Killers are usually treated, its easy to jump to conclusions when certain actions are taken against them. That with the reaction to Elodie doing what she did just solidified her actions being “toxic” in my mind.
But this was a great debate. Thank you.
It's cool, I'm glad that we were able to conclude the discussion peacefully.
When I play as killer I get anxious. I don't like all the attention being on me, I don't regularly play multiplayer games and I don't like to stand out, especially when I'm inexperienced. I also prefer the role of survivor from a gameplay standpoint, so I don't play killer much which just continues the cycle. Thus, when I DO play killer, I generally go easy and just play to have fun. I've found that I enjoy farming as the killer and just goofing around, letting the survivors get points as they see that I'm not out to sweat them. Usually at least one of two survivors catch on and give me ways to soak up some points in return. I watch them escape with a nod, they ask me to swat them on the way out, everyone's made some points without having to stress. I like it. I completely understand where you're coming from on being respectful to a killer who, as you said, is willing to hand out a gift.
The trouble I saw was in assuming that kicking Victor was an attempt to sabotage the game, because it sounds as if she was just having fun (or maybe even earning some points for herself, I can't recall if kicking Victor awards any). More so though it was the idea of punishing her. It wasn't so much that she may not have been trying to screw you guys over, but moreso that, if the match were reported and reviewed, you guys would have been in violation of the rules, not her - because you were, by eliminating her, trying to force a farming session on her. She may very well have thought that she was continuing to play along before, in her eyes, YOU guys turned on her, you know?
Anyway just food for thought, be careful if you farm. I wouldn't be on it so much if I hadn't seen the mods specifically telling someone else not to force it.
-
Your avatar betrays your bias. :)
In all seriousness I agree, Nemesis basically seems like an alternate Pyramid Head (and / or some other killers, as some have pointed out). I understand that there can only be so many practical killer powers and abilities but he's just not the character that I was expecting. I didn't think it would be about tentacle whipping, I figured that it would be about sheer brute force. Granted I'm not the developer, I didn't think about how this would be integrated.
But eh, Pyramid Head is far cooler a character than Nemesis ever was anyway.

We’re looking at it from two different point of views. You’re approaching with legality and I’m approaching with morale.
You’re backing your argument up with whether or not its legal for someone to farm and I’m speaking on whether or not its right to kick a Victor who did nothing but play friendly the entire match.
I mean, if someone approached with a gift and you accepted, would you spit in their face after accepting? (Not to make this into a serious matter, just trying to explain the way I saw it in my eyes)
I'm not arguing whether it's okay to farm (something I myself enjoy doing, I don't blame you for that). I'm simply telling you that the mods have specified that farming is a bit of a grey issue and that one must be careful about it because forcing someone to do it when they don't want to is against the rules. The game is meant to be survivor versus killer and farming goes against that gameplay. People like you and I might enjoy the occasional farm session but that doesn't mean that everyone does, so punishing someone who - for whatever reason - is perceived to be ruining the farming is, according to the rules of the game and the words of the mods, an offense.
Like I said, it's a "don't shoot the messenger" thing. I'm not trying to tell you to feel bad about yourself, only that one is not allowed to force others to play a certain way, especially if that way is against the organic design of the game. No, no one put a gun to Elodie's head and you say that she enjoyed farming, and I believe you. But apparently when she kicked Victor it was immediately assumed that she only did it to ruin everyone's good time messing around and she was then targeted for elimination from the match. That's where things become "wrong". I mean, again, I didn't write the rules, I'm just letting you know why what you did, as opposed to what Elodie did, would be considered the negative action.
-
Can't wait for an enhanced bot mode myself. I know that it wouldn't really be a gameplay change but it would still be a great alternative - it could function as both a practice mode as well as a roulette mode (never know what kind of setup you're going to get). I'd love it.
-
I may be in the minority on this but I would like to know as little as possible going into each match. I just think that it would be more unpredictable and therefore fun that way. I haven't given it enough thought to entertain how this could affect balance though.
I do know that it's lame for survivors to run up the timer just to quickly swap out their item at the last second. I have better things to do in life than spend minutes sitting there waiting to play a game just because one of the other participants wants to ######### around.

And as a member of the community, the Elodie has every right to report us if she felt we deserved so.
She still deserved what she got in my opinion and if that makes me toxic to you, thats fine. The Charlotte didn’t appreciate it, and so we stood by that. 🤷🏽♀️ Especially because she reaped the benefits of the Killers kindness with no objection.
Edit: typo
Sure, she had the right to report you. Whether she did or not is up to her.
Why I think what you did is toxic should be pretty self-explanatory. You all decided somehow that you would play a certain way, and because you felt that her actions violated this right to dictate how everyone plays, which is a right that no player has, you punished her for it. To get right to it, you decided to farm and then punished the player who, in your eyes, disrupted your ability to continue farming. I'm not really sure why that's so difficult to understand.

Well, your name isn't listed as the author so I didn't click the thread because of you, I'm sorry. I don't really know who you are or why you're so worked up, to be honest.

Core gameplay elements shouldn't be "rewarded," to you, especially in a PVP game; especially when it takes thousands of hours to unlock them. Cosmetics, fine, but not something as significant as Perks/Items/Add-ons.
Well, whether they're "core gameplay elements" is subjective, as is whether they should be rewarded and when. Again, the argument that all the best perks and so forth should just be granted to the player right from the outset goes against the very concept of the game. It's like saying that you should get your high school diploma as soon as you enter kindergarten.
The game's entire design is to play repeatedly for hundreds of hours. By saying that it's not fun and that you should get the good stuff right away is the same as saying "I don't like that the game works the way that it was made to work, they should change it so that I enjoy it more".

You are actively defending someone about “not wanting to farm” when all they did was farm happily. I was in the game with them, I witnessed everything. Don’t get what you don’t understand about that.
I'm defending them because they did nothing that was against the rules, and you did.
No one is obligated to play how you want them to, which includes farming. It doesn't matter if they did and then, according to you, stopped doing so for reasons that you admit to not understanding.
I don't personally care that this happened, I'm just saying that given the rules of the game you guys were the guilty party, not her. Don't shoot the messenger, like I said feel free to ask a mod if what you did was okay.

why is this community filled with people that just constantly whine
EDIT; literally all people need to do is play the game, have fun and move tf on. how is that hard
It seems apparent that you made this thread about me, given that half an hour ago you were trying very hard (even after I quit responding) to tell me what a loser I am, how badly I need a life, how jealous I am, etc., because I said that I don't like streamers.
If you feel the need to make a thread about "whiny people" to complain about people who have opinions that differ from your own, it may be time to consider the concept of hypocrisy.

Nobody forced anybody to do anything. All 4 of us were on our last gen with Victor hanging around, she got up and kicked him (again, for no reason). She was completely cool with farming for the first 4 gens, just to randomly kick the Victor for nothing right before we pop the last gen.
Again, theres no real way to excuse behavior like this when you’re reaping the benefits of the Killer being friendly, just to take advantage of their kindness and go a bit too far. The Elodie got what they deserved.
It's against the rules, dude. Go ask one of the mods. You admittedly punished someone because they did something that would otherwise be expected of them in any other normal game. And so what if they kicked Victor? That didn't prevent him from coming right back a few seconds later. Maybe she thought it would be funny?
You were the ones playing the game improperly, and you didn't like that someone did something that could interfere with that, so you "punished" them. That sounds pretty toxic to me.

She kicked the friendly Victor and got punished for it. Make excuses all you want, but the Killer made it clear they weren’t okay with it and we supported that.
Sue me.
No need to get defensive, I simply asked how you knew she was playing in bad faith, and apparently the evidence of her "crime" was not participating in a farming session when she allegedly knew that the rest of you were okay with it. Make excuses? Someone needs to have an excuse to play the game the way it's meant to be played? You know that forcing players to farm is against the rules right? It doesn't matter if the killer or other survivors want to, no one else is obligated to follow suit.
From your answer it sounds as if you guys were actually the toxic ones, ganging up on and "punishing" someone for simply not wanting to play the way that you did.

I'm guessing you disagree that an indoor map should be removed, and you agree that Wraith should be removed?
Someone's been reading my posts. :P
It's alright, the point of this thread was to gather opinions. I'm not going to shoot anyone down here.

Map: Any indoor map. Doesn't matter to me. They all suck.
Chapter. Resident Evil. Shocker, I know. But in my opinion they really didn't do this chapter justice. We should have gotten a character from the modern RE games, a less annoying map, and a more interesting power for Neme.
Killer: Wraith. He's so bloody annoying. (Hag is a very close second)
Mechanic: Hatch. It's lazy and a complete dice-roll to see if the survivor escapes.
Lol I'm so 50 percent in agreement on your choices. :)

Jokes on you,
I laugh at them both equally. Nobody gets special treatment, ESPECIALLY teammates who abuse friendly killers.

(if anyone is wondering what is going on here, these twins were playing super friendly and cool. Victor was used the entire time, even rode my back for a little while just for fun until this toxic Elodie decided to crush him for no reason at all.)
How did anybody know that she crushed him for no reason, as opposed to just trying to play the game as it's meant to be played? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy doing nice things as a killer and always show appreciation to other killers who do the same, but unless this Elodie player was acting in an obviously egregious way just to screw you guys out of farming (which isn't something that anyone is allowed to force on anyone else) I don't quite understand why she was targeted for elimination. The picture looks like some kind of disturbing cult sacrifice.

There really isn't that much to do in this game anyways, Survivor gameplay has remained the same for years and Killer gameplay is only really changed depending on the Killer. No different modes either, just the same game as either Survivor or Killer. It's insane.
I suppose it depends on how much the individual enjoys the gameplay loop. I enjoy it quite a bit, but can understand why others may not. I'm really looking forward to the fleshing out of the bot matches, assuming that they follow through with that. The ability to set up AI scenarios for practice as or against certain killers, or to even just hit a button to throw me into a completely randomized and unpredictable game, would be a blast. No idea who you'll face, no idea what perks you'll be given, no idea what to expect at all. I think that this would bring a really fresh new way to play.
-
Wow, when I went to bed this morning there were zero responses and the thread was nearing the bottom of the front page. I wake up to like 60 responses. Thanks for everyone who's weighed in, especially those who stuck to the specific answer format that I was looking for.
I'm surprised that Hag and pretty much everything about her chapter seems to be the most disliked set of elements. She and her chapter have come up more than anything else so far, I think. Then maybe Legion, Ghostface and Midwich. The answers about the gameplay mechanics have been especially interesting.

I would agree with you if it weren't for the fact that Perks, Items and Add-ons significantly change the game and are required to be competitive. Builds also alter gameplay and are a core part of the game; we're not talking about meaningless skins and charms. To lock a core part of the game behind a grind that most players will never complete, is a problem, especially when you do the math.
I guess I'm looking at it from the other direction. I don't see perks and so forth as being "locked behind a grind", I see them as rewards for playing the game.

I have already played the game for some time, so I know how it works. I would like to play some other killers and I have various perk builds in my mind that I would like to try. This is what I would like to do, and I don't want to spend time on buying the perks in bloodweb. I just want to try the killer with various perk builds. I see no fun in slow unlocking of perks.
Then I guess it's just a philosophy difference. I don't want everything to just be open and available and handed to me all at once, then to me there's absolutely no sense of progress or accomplishment. That's not to say that your preference is "wrong", just that I don't understand why some people feel that there's such a dramatic difference in fun between playing as a character who doesn't have the best perks and playing as one who does. It's not as if the game changes so much that it goes from "misery" to "fun" once that happens. Not to me, anyway.
