I call it the corner of shame. If I get a SWF or just amazingly coordinated team, I go into my lil corner and let them leave. I am in my dunce hat, of course, and am small... fragile

I'm playing right now and it is absolute trash. There definitely seems to be an ongoing theme of killers that love to camp and/or tunnel. I also keep getting matched with other survivors that body block and other stupid crap. This game is definitely becoming less fun.
Oh honey, I just had a match against legion where all of my teammates just urban evaded through the whole map and never touched a gen, whereas the other two kept running into the killer for some reason and just?? stood there? Also one of them healed themselves IN THE BASEMENT I WAS SO LOST LIKE SIS.... stop that!!!! I'm not sure how long I can handle this. They were all rank 15-20. I'm back at rank 6 because of MMR stuff like this. Ugh!!
-
Apparently she had a bug last patch that made her balanced, but they "fixed" it, so I don't think they plan on changing her :(!! But hey, at least we can.... um, we can... we can like, hide in a locker until gens get done? I don't know
-
I hook everyone once before farming with them, but sometimes I get a suicide or accidentally hook them again after their first one and it scares the heck out of me. I always feel bad when it happens, and I wish I could have a post game chat to let them know, but I hope your next matches, farming or not, are super fun and don't have this happen :)!

"She's really that b" omfg π And Elodie is becoming my new dbd queen (not wifey, just queen) because her perks are just so fun! She came into this realm slamming pallets while getting carried???? QUEEN!!
-
I have a similar problem. I was a red rank survivor for awhile and then the MMR started putting me with super low ranks, so I would get tunneled and camped and my teammates had no clue what to do. It's so annoying, but I guess it's part of the β¨dbd experienceβ¨

Hear me out... shirtless everyone!! I'm thirsty for a cutesy Meg cosmetic to pair with her pink skirt, so maybe her ugly sweater will be cute enough lol. And yes, more PH thirst please, he's mega caked up and those muscles π©

O-Obviously it's because it was the first thing he saw when he woke up! Who wouldn't be shocked to find some dead body in front of you with their eyes open nonetheless? I'd say that's quite scarring indeed! Unless we get to figure out who this said woman was, I think the judge would agree that this is just a case of mental scarring and no more! NOT SO FAST!
As you can see in Talbot's lore, he came face to face with a dead woman's eyes and after that, the entry mention her again. If he wasn't special to Talbor. Why does Talbot remember her? The only reason it is because said woman was special to him, the prosecution recquires to know the woman's identity.
I see, I see... If this is the case, Talbot must have found her eyes to be enchanting, or he was scared by being so close to a dead body. Either way, Talbot is shown to have some type of feeling aside from pure scientific interest, so perhaps he was a baller and, therefore, Scotland's #1 pimped out rich guy. Surely, you have no further objections @Le_DWK!

OBJECTION!
Your honor, I believe his dapper appearance may have been used for good looks indeed, but for deceiving purposes!
As you can see by the evidence of the Scabrous Cane description, "[The cane] is best used when lulling victims into a false sense of security."
Your honor, he never had the intentions of whooing, but rather using them for his twisted experiments!
The only thing he "got", your Honor, was test subjects, not partners!
Talbot is Asexual, your honor, and has no interest in relationships. The only chemistry he has with people is the stuff he injects into them.
(Artist is @jayjesterart on instagram)
AUDIBLE GASP HOW DARE YOUUU I have been out ace attorney'd on the dbd forums??? If only I had the talent to draw my Meggy in her pink fit doing Edgeworth's lil 'tsk tsk' move lol! Fine, you win.... but I call being his next test subject π

Nope. This man was a true man of SCIENCE. He had no bother mettling in the affairs of pointless actions like relationships. Sure he looked dope as hell, but he probably saw people no more than pawns or insects hence why he dressed superior to them.
Your honor, I don't think Talbot was a pimp nor gay nor any if the above.
This man had his heart for science and was thus Asexual.
I rest my case.
Your honor, I would like to state that Talbot was, in fact, a hottie. Take note of the cane and his 'aristocrat' cosmetic. It states that, and I quote, "[This outfit is] worth more than what the working class would make in a year," (Parklane and Westminster Aristocrat cosmetic description) and that his shirt is made of silk. Why would a man of 'science,' as you put it, dress so well and, frankly, like a pimp? Perhaps for the lassies in the town, or lads, we don't judge. So with that, I state that Talbot Grimes, now 'The Blight,' was a true, walking version of class. As they said in his day, "boys have swag, men have class." I rest my case.

This is a game - not a job, but how Killer is right now I can see why you compared it to taking a break from WORK.
haha, okay. I know it's different, but I'm gonna drop from this chat. This is coming from someone who was in the same position as survivor, and go ahead and say it's easier, but it's difficult when you play competitively. So, OP if you are reading this, I guess it's your choice, but please take care of yourself and don't push more than you can pull <3
-
I adore using one stealth perk for hiding around the hook when a teammate is downed, and also for evading the killer! I also use really fast and helpful perks for me and my team, so maybe balance it out like that?
-
@TheButcher said:

No. Don't tell players to "take a break" it's only a friendlier way of saying "stop playing". It's dismissive. It's not nice. It doesn't solve the issue, that it is too damn stressful to play Killer. A game shouldn't be a way where you can play one side endlessly with ease, 0 stress, and even play just to make jokes/memes without even taking the game seriously. Then the other side you have to concentrate, strategize, basically sweat every round, and then get treated with consistent disrespect from the community after every match.
Stop with the dismissive comments. If you don't have anything constructive to say then don't say anything at all.
Ah, I can't speak for OP, but if a game is stressing you out a lot it's good to stop playing for a few hours or to take a day off. I have done it before and I have a hard time keeping myself from playing, and it's refreshing to step back. You're telling someone to play as a virtual killer in a video game even when this person said it's stressing them out more than being fun. Please be careful in saying stuff like this, as it can encourage poor coping skills or make this person even more frustrated. They never said they should stop playing-- Have you ever taken a lunch break at work? You go back after like 15 minutes, it's not forever lol
-
I think the most intense match I had was in this game where I was legitimately tunneled hardcore and camped, and I was chased past gens popping and teammates doing objectives. I'm not a weak player by any means either, it's just that this guy had a knack for finding me looking for help healing or a gen that hadn't been repaired. All I remember is slamming my hand on my bed and flipping off the TV and blocking the killer for being such a frick nugget. He was ghostface too, and as a GF main I was appalled by his lack of marking people and the trashy camping he used!!! At least be sneaky about it, ugh! But yeah, that made me turn off the game lol. I don't wish anything against them, they just played so weird and I hated it. Pretty sure everyone else survived because this dude spent the whole match searching for me and hooking/camping me too :)))))))))
-
She's my queen don't diss her like that :((!! She's the other reason I pack UE because it is the same speed as walking and I get to nyoom over traps lol. I enjoy the strategy involved though, and I prefer her over the trapper because I have a higher chance of evading her activated traps instead of having to repeatedly press a button to fail an escape!
-
I start every match looking for teammates and if one of them gets injured I start a gen lol. Also, urban evasion is amazing if you like getting up close and personal with the killer-- I have gotten away from them so many times on very basic maps, and it's also wonderful against Hag and Pyramid Head. I also can't stop myself from being friendly with killers, so I usually loot a chest and leave the item for them as a lil 'thank you for playing well' gift... unless it's a ranger medkit because mama needs that bad lol! Oh, I also like to point at people's crotches before unhooking them because it's funny and I can't help it :)
-
They both suck, but so do teammates that gen rush and do nothing but flashlight the killer for fun. I wish both sides would chill out sometimes, especially since DS isn't amazing. I get away and the killer is stunned for a few seconds, but the minute I get out I'm tunneled and hooked. Also, you can't win-- Everyone hates DS, but if you don't use it you're asking to lose. I stopped reading posts about how people should play because it's all so silly. Play the game and try your best, but don't play to be a jerk :)!!

Hey honey pie! I know how you feel, I have anxiety and depression and sometimes being able to escape or be good at something can help you feel more in control, but I took a well needed hiatus from this game-- just a week or two-- and I have been feeling less enraged. I needed some time to realize that while this game is fun, you are playing with real people who may not be playing fair or even well, and that, in turn, effects you. It's okay bubbale, and I encourage you to get some water and eat your fav snack and just find something to do for a few days, yeah? And reply to this comment if you need any help or want a check in, because I promise there are kind people in this community who are probably feeling the same way. It's easy to latch onto this game, but sometimes it's hard to get out of it, and the community can be lovely! I always advise people to engage with users like @Slashstreetboy @Jyn_Mojito @Buttercake and many others who I'm too exhausted to @ right now haha! But stay safe and please, please take this advice and work on being happy <3!

Do you ever leave survivors who are good at being chased to find someone else? I regularly run the killer for a minute or more and then they leave me and instantly down my teammates. It makes me laugh and shake my head at the same time. I promise you, most survivors are garbage at the game. Just go find one.
You can @ me next time, I am the best at being garbage <3

I am the strongest gamer there is. Allow me to introduce HOLDING DOWN ONE BUTTON, AND SOMETIMES A DIFFERENT BUTTON!!!! Haha, seriously though this might be interesting. I just adore my sprint burst and would hate to lose it! Many people will lose or rage, but it might be a good way to appreciate our perks and evaluate which ones are best!
-
Aight, stuff like this is ruining the community and game. I'm sorry, I'm on xbox and have destroyed PC players and been sandbagged more times than I can count by 'BIG BRAIN PC GAMER' bc they think it's funny. I think people who are bad need to get better, on all platforms, and PC is not amazing. I can't stand having people think I suck at this game just because they see I'm on xbox. Then again, I have had wonderful teammates on PC and other platforms, and also some talented killers, but that is from playing well, not just owning a device. Seriously, get over yourselves lol
EDIT: I came back bc this sounds super harsh and I hate being mean so I'm adding this and a smiley to remind people that at the end of the day, we are all here to have fun! On all platforms!! So you can disable crossplay or give people the benefit of the doubt, but keep in mind we all have the potential to be extreme gamers lmao! Thank you for listening to my DBD Talk :)!

Conversely I played survivor and I usually play killer. In 14 matches I died 4 times. Usually I die much more than this, specially because I lost rank for not touching survivor for a long time and solo queues tend to have a lower survival rate for me if playing with brown or green ranks.
As for the numbers:
14 Matches.
Hooks/ Escapes/ (Killer Rank) -my rank-
2H/4E/ (17) 11; 0H/4E/ (14 - DC) 11; 4H/4E (14)11; 0H/4E (14-DC) 11; 8H/1 E (12 Nurse, 1 suicide) 10; 7H/3E (13) 10; 3H/3E (15) 10;
10H /0E (14) 10; 3H/4E (14) 9; 12H/0E (10 - Freddy, best match) 9 ; 6H/ 4E (gave hatch to last Rank12 Spirit) 9; 3H/4E (14) 9; 7H/4E (4)8;
4H/0E (13 Camping Hag with Ebony) 8.
From those there are 2 DCs that the killer gave up because he thought he couldnt win, but I still counted, same way as in two of them a person suicided on hook (only put one there, dont remember which doctor it was that another person commited suicide on hook). The best match was against Freddy that hooked everyone 3 times without camping or tunneling, at least on my opinion. Personally I never ranked up so fast by solo queue. For other people with more experience in survivor certainly this is a piece of cake, but my personal experience is that it became much more simple to hold killer for a long period of time.
One of the matches I held an Oni for pratically the entire match and another that we died against Doctor I held him for something around a minute (preschool) and the team mate kept over the hatch without doing the generator.
Will post a link to public screenshots in the case of the doubters.
https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198011550960/screenshots/
Interesting. I was rank 4 until the rest which, strangely, gave me green and brown rank teammates that were not as altruistic or aware of their surroundings (although rank doesn't equal skill as I have come to learn!) and I am at rank 5 now. So far, I have died every match and the chases are about the same length as usual, and I was able to play killer without much issue (rank 20 since I always let them escape) but went against purple ranks for some odd, MMR reason lol! I never chased long enough to get the ultra BL speed boost, and I have never DC'd as killer for any reason, and I hope the players get more comfortable with adapting. The game changes, and we can only move forward and learn.
-
I'm genuinely laughing at the 'breathtaking seal team' technique description, it's beautiful lol!! But to be honest, I think it's like facing a killer who drops you at the hatch and waits for you to reach it before closing it and hooking you-- To be an arse. It's dumb and has no point other than to provoke and have that 'ohoho I am so gamer' moment! I hope your next matches are better, and that you sandwich was at least tasty enough to get rid of the salt in the end game chat :)!
-
Survivor main and meghead here! I haven't seen much of a difference to be honest, except for more tunneling and a bit of camping, which isn't rare but still not too common. I have had team wipe outs and pretty intense chases, but bloodlust being gone seems to make a very small difference. I also play killer, and I genuinely forgot BL was a thing until the patch came out talking about the test lol!
-
I play competitively but that doesn't equal raging and completely serious, it's just my first game and I adore it for being so anxiety producing and also surprising. You never know who you'll go against, what your teammates will be like, what perks everyone is using, yadda yadda, and I really like that! I also enjoy making friends on the forums and in games, because after a lot of poor behavior and bad sportsmanship from time to time, you'll meet some lovely people <3!

The fact that you think everyone plays like you shows how inexperienced YOU are with the game.
Not everyone uses BT and DS offensively, some people just want to live longer.
It's insurance for some, everyone has different playstyles, just because Bloodlust was removed doesn't mean everyone uses it, I'm a Nurse main and a Rank 1 survivor and I'm in full support of Bloodlust.
"When I'm unhooked with BT, I dive towards the killer to take the hit for the survivor that just unhooked me, that gives me enough time, with another crutch like dead hard"
Just because you do it, doesn't mean the next person does.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/P9NP0SQXK9VC/duudh-png.png
Your brain is massive and I'm so jealous!! But great points, and I barely noticed a difference with BL as both a survivor and a killer. I have been playing for awhile as well and I got... intense lol and it's going fairly well. I would like BL back and I know that the 'small pp' build is hated but I don't get why. I have played against some amazing survivors who use it well and I appreciate them working hard and cooperating :)!
-
I get tunneled occasionally, especially if I played well and hid from the killer. But, I have also been tunneled through multiple gens simply because I became a target, and that's annoying af lol! I don't mind a good chase, but being a main target for a whole match when I'm not even the obsession is difficult.

No, this is why I am so against perks like WGLF. I honestly believe that DS was implemented mistakenly for tunneling killers. Killers are opportunistic (whether its the right choice in the moment is sometimes questionable). DS punishes killers for unhookers farming teammates.
Idk, getting tunneled by a killer never bothered me when it makes sense. I think its time the community stops complaining about it and starts calling (in my experience) survivors that farm teammates out for ######### up their experience.
I would support a change that gave survivors better utility to escape when unhooked during stage 2 if unhookers were exposed for like 20-30 seconds.
I can see killers abusing that if they camp tho, but I can't think of the perfect, balanced 'fix' for it. I don't mind DS-- It's one chance to get outta my big, meaty claws and then it's over lol! But I have been hardcore tunneled before (running past other survivors to get me even when I'm uninjured and avoiding objectives to get me out for some reason) and most of my tunneling is from teammates that don't wait to save me. It's just obnoxious, and I wish there was a good way to counter!!

The hatch is just poorly designed in general.
Your whole team screwed up? No worries. Here is a free escape.
Hatch is closed by the killer? Ah, well...guess we will give you another chance to escape then. And if you have a key you can re open the hatch. Isn't that great?
Basically, hatch rewards the team for playing bad and punishes the killer for playing good. Totally fair.
I can understand this kind of mentality, but I play solo and have had teams that all suicide on hook. The hatch is great for when I need to escape after playing well, but I have a lot of trouble finding it to begin with lol! I have had teammates watch me die on the hook and all i see is them teabagging while i struggle which is... cheap lol. But whatever, I prefer a good match with one bad teammate to getting slugged and such.

my survivor playstyle is very different from killer i stop at pallets in the middle of a loop trying to make the killer respect them i'm also not good at staying Sneaky either, My perks i prefer are Hope, urban evasion, iron will and spine chill
I don't mind DS mostly because I prefer getting everyone on the hook rather than one specific person, especially if there is one very sneaky survivor I haven't seen. I also main Ghostface! I love using the tracking build on him (all ears, whispers, bitter murmur, and then corrupt intervention) because I suck at patrolling gens!! I'm a survivor main tho (massive meghead and, as my user states, I am her wifey) and adore using SB, urban, self care, and kindred since I only play solo! Yea, it's really frustrating to lose a game to something that is actually out of your control. In terms of matchmaking, it definitely sucks - I would play with a SWF. Even if you're not on coms, you at least know you have a reliable team. Personally, I don't play the game to escape, I just meme and try to do funny things to keep the game interesting. At a certain point, the game becomes stale and that's when you have to invent your own objectives. Whether it's trying to pebble the killer or running a plunder build, it'll be more fun.
Are you on console? I heard they have been having more crashing issues recently.
I have no friends who enjoy this game, and I am not playing rocket league lol! And yes, I am on xbox one and heard about the series x/s crashing or not booting up, but this has been happening for months. I'll try to keep tally and look for any trends, because it has only been dbd, but I'm not sure. And I love goofing around, I just hate that I'm already down to rank 6 from rank 4 in 2 days ;w;
-
Um my orange disgraced chemist husband is perfect, he bounces from tree to tree to ensure I am dead and by golly I'll go down!! Seriously though, when I hear that music, I get so excited because I know it's gonna be a crazy fun match. I love his perks, and his play style is really fun to counter!!

I've only been playing a short time (less than a month) and I've gotten decently good pretty quickly but even when I'm getting stomped in some fashion, either as survivor or killer, I am totally content with just having little successes (i.e. as a survivor: getting a few good chases, unhooking some pals, healing them, fixing a gen or two. And as a killer: making everyone bleed in some form lol). I don't have to win to have fun but, as with everything in the world, some people simply take things way too seriously.
Oh yeah, I've noticed. I play competitively (or, used to until the rank reset and things going downhill) and I still found time to point at a killer's butt or play around with survivors between gens. It's supposed to be a game, not some hardcore 'who can piss this person off/ how can we make survivor/killer dc' fiesta!!! So, as long as we all have fun or at least don't play to annoy one another, then I'm set lol :)!

Bc why not and also if any survivors just start trying to make peace right away we'll be friends and you'll be spared I just like being chill with people. There's nothing like having that killer just wrecking everyone then stop and start being cool with you lol
Right!?! I enjoy a good goof with the killer lol! I loved a match with Piggy when I was the last alive and I pointed at a lit totem and she crouched and started nodding. She led me to every totem and then gave me hatch! I adore you, Piggy <3!!

Pft. Sorry but no.
As a killer player that has over 2400 hours in this game - it does matter.
But not really play style as much as your attitude.
But the attitude contributes to the play style, if you're a troll that loves to make others days horrible - you gen rush, bully, etc. then that's not wanted at all by anyone.
No one wants to be bullied anywhere - ESPECIALLY a video game where we try to have fun. But yet I deal with that almost every game now, even though I'm rank 18.
Other than that yeah, play style shouldn't matter - but your positivity/kindness should. Even if it's a game about killers vs survivors - YOU'RE the one playing and making the others feel that way.
So even through most bullied moments I plow through with kindness and try my best to make them know I'm not a bad guy - that I want to have fun. Not rage.
Oh, absolutely! I thought I specified that in the post but I guess not ;w; I always try to be a great teammate or (since im a baby and cant put anyone on death hook) nice killer. I don't think anyone has the right to say 'you are bad because you use this' since it isn't true! I don't suck because I use urban evasion, I suck because I'm bad at this game lol! But seriously, I have had some super bad matches, but I'm not going to go out of my way to tell someone that lol. Most of the time, actual toxic people know they are toxic. I don't have to remind them of that, and it's just a video game after all. It is obnoxious at times, I just don't like how a lot of the debates around here are 'if you use DS you shouldnt play this game' or 'packing a mori is toxic' because while they are sometimes difficult to counter, it is a part of the game.
