  • Sorry, every time I hit submit I think of something else.

This game needs an actual in-game reporting system.

I'd also like some new/better daily achievements.

An actual daily login blood point bonus.

  • Also, it would be nice to have a rematch option. I don't think I'd use it to frequently, but every once in a while I run up against a really good opponent and it would be fun to run it back.

  • I would like 2 more loadouts if possible. Most of my loadouts are related to bp offerings. So it would be nice to have one loadouts for each emblem, plus a load out for just a favorite or meta build.

  • I always see the argument of swf is overpowered because of the communication aspect and to be fair, being able to communicate is definitely a game changer. But the biggest advantage of swf is just knowing that you have teammates that won't disconnect or suicide because they got hit first, or took a bad latency hit, or just didn't like the killer they were going against, or didn't get unhooked at the first second the killer left the hook, or...

They really need to ramp up DC timers and I think Kobe attempts should cost $8,000 in-game blood points. That way people would not be able to just kill themselves on hook at least no so quickly.

As far as the match making, though I agree it can be frustrating playing with people that aren't very experienced, I'd rather play with an urban evader that at least plays the whole trial as opposed to someone who leaves at the first sign of adversity.

But yeah, solo queue is often times rough and is going to be even worse in less than two weeks. Yikes.

If the overall grind was reduced by 75%, and they said the grind was reduced by 75%, that's as accurate and honest as you can expect. I don't see why they'd need to couch everything they say by clarifying needlessly when you can just look at what else they said to determine what specifically they mean.

Bit of a weird thing to get hung up on, in my opinion. The grind was reduced by a moderate amount for everyone (with the exception of people who insist on only playing one survivor, potentially) and reduced by a huge amount when it comes to how much it increases per new chapter, so why does it matter exactly how they phrased the short version when we have all the details anyway?

It matters because it's inaccurate. At best they're simply wrong and accidentally misleading people. At worst they know they're full of it and are outright lying about it.

Regardless, they should probably explain their math at this point. It's bad business at this point not to.

  • Also sorry to spam and hijack this post. I'd be cool with a non -binary and/or trans person as killer or survivor.

  • I just want to see the dog's tail wag while it opens a chest.

You know those dogs would spend all game chewing on those totems.

Part of the reason the grind is so out of control on live servers is because it increases significantly with every new character that's released. When talking about the grind, getting perks from new characters back on every old character is one of the biggest facets of it, so any grind reduction is necessarily going to be focused partially on that.

So, honestly, there isn't a huge difference between those two statements. They are still separate things, but the grind was reduced no matter what way you slice it; the 75% number specifically is probably attributed to how the grind no longer scales uncontrollably with new characters, but the rest of the grind was reduced too. Just not by quite as much.

If you're a new player the grind has not been. Reduced by 75 percent on the whole.

If you're a player like me that has things almost grinded through anyway, it's nowhere near a reduction of 75 percent on the whole.

    If you're somewhere in-between it's also not a reduction of 75 percent.

That's my issue. Be transparent and specific on this grind reduction number, because right now it's not even close to 75 percent.

  • I'm okay with it, but I'd prefer an 80 pound golden doodle to be the next survivor. This game needs a dog.

  • Ok. Maybe I misunderstood, but did they specifically say it reduces the grind on new characters or just that it reduces the grind in general? Because there is a huge difference between those two statements.

  • @tensu950 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3049753#Comment_3049753

it would reduce the grind for those players because you would not need to cycle blood webs on those p3 characters to buy all the perks. The new system does indeed save BP in those occasions. Much like now when a new killer comes out and you p3 your other 23 killers or whatever it is now all have the t3 perk meaning you don't need to spend tons of BP cycling blood web to get them on all toons.

So yes this new system does "reduce the grind" as I have been saying but only after you are done with the grind, you still need to p3 all your toons in order to gain the full benefit from this.

A new player gets 0 benefits from this new system as you don't start seeing them till you p3 multiple other characters to start spreading around perks so once again until you put 500+ hours into the game this new system is pointless and only makes the grind longer.

Even at p3 no perks, it's still not a grind reduction of 75 percent.

  • @tensu950 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3049743#Comment_3049743

well clearly if you have everything unlocked no amount of grind reduction is gonna benefit you. however, it's pretty much impossible to argue who this grind reduction benefits more.

Is it someone who just starts today or someone who already has a bunch of things leveled up and at p3 because as you stated at that point you now have everything unlocked on that new character as soon as they release and only need to worry about leveling the new character to p3 to unlock their perks on everyone else.

I'm no math wizard but even if you p3'd everyone and left them at no perks and just stopped there it would not be a 75 percent decrease in the grind.

See that's where so many people are wrong, BBQ doesn't double your bp. It doubles it in the trail. It does nothing for bp earned outside of that

    Let's crunch some numbers

Last tome was 3015k in bloodpoints total over the span of 3 months. So that's an avarage of about 1000k a month

If you do your daillies everyday you have 900k per month at a minimun. there are 60k daillies but let's lowball it

You can earn up to 2 mil from rank rewards. But again let's say your a killer main and struggled a bit and only just made it in red ranks meaning 700k

That's 2.6 milion bp you earned that month that bbq did nothing with

If you avarage 25k bp per game and get 4 stacks every game (which is bs but again for the sake of argument) you would need to play 52 matches with 4 stacks for bbq to make up 25% of the bp you earned

And that's with lowballing the numbers. get iri 1 on both survivor and killer and that number changes to 78 matches per month

Not even counting offerings. every 5 survivor pudding you play or bps anyone plays adds 3 matches you need to play to have BBQ make up 25% of your total bp

And then i haven't even touched gift codes and events. there is a forum post where they asked how many flans people have and it wasen't hard to get into the thousands. More bp bbq does nothing with

You also won't always get 4 stacks. If you say you do you're lying. You're not going to tell me killers needed to be buffed cause the kill rate was to low but everyone still casually got their 4 bbq stacks all the time. Between Swf squads, survivors hiding to escape via hatch or DC's before you can hook you can miss quite a few stacks

Now it's ofcourse still a good chunk of bp bbq gives. But it's nowhere near double your bp that people are saying it does

Ok. I'm your boss at your job in real life. I know I'm not actually, this is just an analogy. I've got some bad news. I'm cutting your salary in half. Sorry, sacrifices need to be made and I know you're a team player. Good news is your sales commission is going to stay the same. I'm not going to mess with the end of year bonus either.

What's that? You quit? I think you're overvaluing your salary. I mean the end of year bonus is staying the same and the sales commission is staying the same. I don't see what the big deal is?

  • I see a lot of people saying "well it's a big grind reduction for people that have already p3'd everyone. It is not.

I have a spreadsheet and between the 40 + characters I have p3 all perks and the 8 characters I have p3'd and all universal perks (plus plenty of others). I'm already at a 93 percent rate in terms of maxing everyone out anyway.

So wow, they've decreased the grind for me by less than 7 percent. Neat.

In fairness, at least future characters will be pretty much maxed out so that's nice.

My first two games went exactly like this. A pinky finger clown and a huntress at that...

Same. Lots of sweat today. Some days it's just not all that fun. I think in 12 games or so today, I lived maybe twice. Got more than 3 gens done maybe a total of three times.

Totally survivor sided though. Need to increase gen times. Or else survivors will be able to get more than two gens done in a match. Oh no.

I wish this wasn't true. As much as I like to get mad at killers when they do this sort of stuff it's something that you're forced into time to time.

Sure. That time is with 2 gens or less. Most games this actually starts at 5 gens.

  • Killers always have this "what do you mean it's boring for you, it's fun for me" attitude. "You guys gen rush".

It's not the same thing. If survivors gen rush, the game ends for everyone. If a killer camps/proxy/tunnels someone out they've basically made the match an absolute snooze for one player who literally wiggles, struggles, gets downed, wiggles, and struggles again. It's the equivalent of spawn camping in a first person shooter. It's cheese.

  • @MrPeanutbutter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/333237/the-proxing-for-free-hits-is-getting-really-boring

A couple of things: 1) just because it’s boring for you doesn’t mean other people don’t enjoy playing that way; and 2) you can thank the devs for making this play style necessary to win. Free endurance health states and broken maps that still haven’t been addressed or even acknowledged as a problem mean that you’ll be very lucky to get one hook per generator done if the killer doesn’t proxy camp or tunnel. Five hooks without “tunneling” = zero kills. Do you think killers will have fun getting zero kills every match?

Lol the free endurance health states haven't started yet and are happening because of the proxy camp/tunnel strategy being so popular.

  • I see little difference between face camping and proxy camping. I think either are legit strategies as the game progresses. In the early game, it's pretty limpdick though.

  • I think there is going to be a significant drop after this patch. Some of these gen speed killer builds are going to be boring to go against.

Having endurance hits stack up is nice, but really a delay of the inevitable.

We'll see though. I've been wrong before.

  • I would think if they're going to keep this plan they should

    A) get rid of the 50k prestige tax (actually insulting, bhvr. ######### Jesus)

    B) keep the bloodwebs at the level 50+ bloodwebs that exist. Don't drop it down back to the level 1 BS webs

    C) Make it so you can't depip, so it's easier (and more fair) to get to a higher rank rewarding you for playing the game in the first place

And I say all this by being one of the few people benefiting from this change as I already have everyone p3'd and most with all perks. The ones I don't have all perks I have all universal perks (besides dredge/haddie who are close)

Another swing and miss by behavior. I have a sinking suspicion this patch may really ruin the game for many players. I get that some major changes were well overdue, but way too many head scratching decisions for this patch.

Good thing my grind is mostly done!

  • @Mooks said:

"Do you think Killers enjoy face camping?"

Seeing how rampant it is and how much they gloat in the forums and postgame chat, yes I do believe they enjoy it.

Lol, exactly. I'm totally sure they're shaking their head "no" at me because they don't want to camp me. /s

I don't see campers all the time, but I wouldn't say they're rare either. And when you do encounter them it's really lame. It's the equivalent of spawn camping/killing in a first person shooter. You're preventing a player from actually playing the game.

There are times and situations where the camp makes sense strategically and is relatively fair to the person being camped. But your standard twitch streaming killer with four viewers is legit just doing it to be a turd.

  • I'd also like the pink syringe to be an unbreakable as opposed to an non-insta-"instaheal".

  • @Slowpeach said:

Personally I do think at 'some' point you should be able to get up. Obviously change shouldn't be made in a vacuum like many things but too much of this game is potentially spent doing nothing.

Same. Make it a really slow unbreakable or something, but to be downed for four minutes whether it's mid game or just the very end is so boring.

Hell, make it where you stay broken for a minute and/or give the killer some aura reading if pick yourself up. But let me do something other than crawl around.

  • @Marik1987 said:

Hook trades will still work. However, 2 Basekit-Stacks of STBFL means literally nothing. I dont notice it even when I have 4 Stacks lol.

5+ and you start to feel it as killer (at least i do).

Weird. I notice with the first stack the slight difference, let alone four. I'm not saying one stack or four stacks of stbfl are so awesome, but there is definitely a difference.

  • I'm excited to not have to use BBQ. Will likely never use it again after this patch. As far as what tracking perks I will use, probably very killer dependent. We'll see.

Salty? Nah just this things happen everytime. We can't have a simple update without breaking something. IT's the same story with DbD every update.

How manny issues do you wanna bet there will be with the Balance Update? An update of that magnitude is definetly gonna bring very unpleasent stuff. Remember the Launch of the RE Chapter? I do! Remember the Launch of Twins Chapter? I do!

Cry less. All games have bugs. Every single game. Every single game that has ever existed infact.

Some bugs favor killers. Some bugs favor survivors. You act like this was intentional. Grow up.

  • @Triplehoo said:

Yes. And while we at it, Killers hits shouldn't injure the survivors. Actually, better yet, Killers shouldn't be able kill at all. And survivors should be able to to do all the gens in 30 seconds. And 32000 BP's all the time in every match.

    Oh stop it

  • @akaTheBARON said:

F* it!!!! Lets do it. I'd really like to see this put into place, only to see posts saying "struggle states take way too long causing killers to want to DC and get no bloodpoints" then in the posts:

Title... the time it takes for survivors on hook to die takes way too long and because of this, I end up getting impatient, DC and get no bp which is unfair... BHVR has been survivor sided for a long time and it shows...

It definitely feels like killers feel this way. It's really outrageous some of the takes I read on here. Meanwhile I do fine as killer and I play while I'm on my treadmill. Yeah, I lose sometimes and some of those games can be frustrating, but most games I get at least 3. And I rarely play as nurse or blight.

  • In hockey at the end of a best of seven series, both sides will line up and shake hands in a show of sportsmanship.

    This is the DBD equivalent.

  • Just start all four survivors on hooks.

  • If anything DS should have a 7 second timer and no skill check. Then maybe I'd actually use it lol.

But the drop to 3 seconds is silly.

  • The killers that camp and tunnel now will continue to camp and tunnel after these changes. They'll continue to camp and tunnel after the next changes. And so on.

The BT basekit thing is really no big deal. It's 5 seconds. Maybe that well help in end game, but otherwise it's pretty easy to count to five and then hit the guy.

The only real significant buff is the off the record change, but I'd be willing to bet that gets toned down significantly once it goes live or shortly thereafter.

Killers did get basekit brutal and stbfl.

Monstrous Shrine deactivates if you're within 24m, so that one won't make a difference for camping- in fact, if killers are running it they can't camp.

24 meters is like 5 seconds away from the shack.

Even less if you're a high mobility killer.

  • @ad19970 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3017356#Comment_3017356

I would argue this patch is a step in the right direction when looking at creating a good fundament for the game. The killer buffs are definitely great and will encourage killers to play properly and fair, now that that gameplay style is more viable. That's 100% a step in the right direction.

Having the meta shaken up a bit is also definitely good, it's something the game has needed in a long time. Some nerfs or buffs are too much, but hopefully BHVR will address the issue, if not immediately, then at least soon after.

The problem is that the devs just seem to have stopped after getting halfway to where they should get, and then decided not to give survivors adequate compensation by buffing them against camping and tunneling properly. Camping being buffed would be absolutely horrendous.

Some of the meta perk nerfs are also awful. The Self Care change is just so bad, all they should have done is remove the item efficiency and call it a day.

Buffing killers is not going to make killers play any nicer. This is the most naive thing I've read in a while.

survivors in general to have most of their toys gutted. I hope they gut you all more. You enjoy being in bully squads, you enjoy making the game not fun for killer mains, you enjoy trash talking, you enjoy tbagging every chance you get, you enjoy making the game more toxic than it needs to be. You caused this problem by being bigger villains than the actual killers are, and that says something. You've had your way for so long that now that your over powered bs toys are getting touched you all start crying. I really hope they completely gut all of your perks if this is the reaction it gets, it's so satisfying seeing all of these crying posts. Welcome to what killer has been dealing with for literally years at this point.

I play both roles. Right now killer is easier. It appears it's only going to get easier here real soon.

  • I have everyone at p3-at least 50. I may bump everyone up to 4, since I can with no drawbacks, but I'm done after that. I don't want to worry about the grind anymore. And finally I don't have to.

It will be nice to play the game without worrying about blood points.

  • Yeah. I agree. Pretty hard to find. Two left for me, but damn. I also think if you're within 24 meters it shouldn't move. Pretty disappointing to see one after games of not seeing any, only for it to move away.

    But oh well.

Game is what you make it, killers sweating the event? PLay some killer, have fun with the survivors.

As killer, they gen rushing? Play a few surv matches, I bounce back and forth and it works wonders for your mental health in regards to this game.

Same. But all my killer games have been either farms or just good games. I'm playing mainly zoomy wraith so I can find envelopes.

As survivor it's about 50/50 on if it's a killer that's not going out of their way to ruin fun or basement trapper, slugging nurse, or rancor/noed (which is less of a big deal because at least it only hurts you during end game as opposed to getting hooked once and dying).

And I've said it before and I'll say it again. I have no problem with killers securing a 4k. It would be nice to actually get a farming killer or one that would let me escape, but that's not my expectation. I do think it would be nice to not go up against a nurse with blink addon's and starstruck or infectious, where no gens get done and we all get like 10000 points even with the flans. Like, if you're running that stuff you're obviously there to ruin people's fun.

  • Another slugging infectious fright nurse vigorously stroked their epeen during the event today.

Nothing like bringing in the strongest ######### possible during an event. Fun stuff.

  • I hear ya. I play both. I just don't get why killers play so scummy during an event. Like play scummy the other 351 days during the year. You don't even have to let people live. Just turn the throttle down.
