Ok, basement trapper...why would you go anywhere else, how often does this happen for trapper? If the survivors know where the basement is? None at all, it's a great time, gets the funny dopamine juice going
I didn't even know it was trapper and it was on the game. I finished the gen in the bathroom killer boxed me in. All other survivors died trying to save. I'm solo. Judging by the others at most there was a duo. Probably all solo though.

Fourth game was rancor/noed pig lol.
BuT sUrViVoRs!

The two killer games I've gone up against. Basement trapper and starstruck nurse. Both pretty much left about 20 meters from the hook at most.
In short. Fuckouttahere.

Camping in general is not healthy for the game. I personally know 4 people who stopped playing because of that.
Exactly. It's the equivalent of spawn killing. It's frustrating, boring, and trollish.
There are times to camp, but not after the first down a minute into the game.

Cuz before the strat was tunnel the guy with the key
It was really fun for the survivors right?
Killers tunnel hard regardless. There is always this thought process on the forum that killers will play nice if this gets nerfed or that gets nerfed. Then things get nerfed and killers still tunnel and camp.
Cracks me up.

Reading Patch Notes .
- "Twisted Masquerade" 6th Anniversary limited-time event (starting June 16th 11AM ET)
- ArchivesTwisted Masquerade event tome (also starting June 16th 11AM ET)
I hate giving these guys too much grief, but c'mon. They should have mentioned this weeks ago. Normally the event starts the same day as the new killer/survivor release. It's not the end of the world that it's different this year, but they should have mentioned this somewhere other than the patch notes.
I took time off of work thinking the anniversary event started yesterday. If I knew it was going to be on the 16th, I would have taken that day off.
Again, not end of the world stuff, but communicate this stuff better please.

I love the idea that having an under 18 survivor would be so terrible, yet they're on a show where they're under 18 and constantly being attacked and that's totally cool.
It's almost like it's only a big deal if you feel like making it a big deal.

Worrying about my own MMR means I absolutely should be trying to slug for the 4k as much as possible. A killer’s MMR shouldn’t go down when a survivor gets a second second-chance pity escape.
If the last survivor was always worth zero MMR points for both sides, then killers could play competitively without sweating for the 4k. This would also be a nerf to face camping. If a killer is face camping a survivor at the end of the game, and the other survivors leave the game, then the face camped survivor won’t lose MMR, and the killer won’t gain MMR for the facecamped survivor.
Why are you so worried about playing at a high MMR as killer?
It makes a difference as a survivor since you want to paired up with good teammates. I don't see any real benefit to playing at high MMR as killer unless you really enjoy sweaty games.
-
Why do you care whether the other players MMR goes up or down? Worry about your own MMR.
-
I p3'd all perks on killers (Trapper through Trickster). All my other killers are p3 50+.
I p3'd all survivors Dwight through Leon (I think). All other survivors are p3 50+.
I'm fairly certain once I have everyone p3 all perks, I don't suspect I'll level up any further. It will be nice to not feel like I need to keep grinding and I can run 4 perks instead of 3 (plus wglf or bbq every game).

Kobe attempts should cost blood points that have been earned in that match. This would help curtail early game suicides (can't attempt a Kobe unless you've actually scored enough points). It would also make people reconsider the rude Kobe in your face thing that is totally unnecessary. Maybe increase the percentage chance a bit.
Each Kobe attempt costs 8k bp. The percentage increases to 10 percent. At most you're really only going to have a 30 percent chance of kobe-ing and it would be so late in the game that it wouldn't be all that helpful anyway.
Either way Kobe's are kind of cheesy as they are and they could use some sort of rework.

Nobody is going to change the other's opinions because we're just now getting to the good part + you're ignoring my video if you think he's good at slugging.
"Aura reading and slowdown. Two pretty strong killer features."
As I've said before, downing is everything. His "slowdown" was defeated by intentionally missing skill checks (and if you're referring to the Overcharge meme build, that is easily countered by staying asleep and simply... looping him.), aura reading means absolutely nothing when you can just loop him BECAUSE he is M1, and he has HUGE weaknesses that overshadow his strengths. Saving in front of him being a thing, slugging being impossible... completely garbage Killer and was considered to be the worst killer in the game. People BEGGED for reworks and I'm NOT silently letting a small minority undo the dev's hard work.
"Run behind the guy playing dead hard chicken for 5 seconds before you swing at him."
... I have to ask this now that this question presents itself: Are you playing at low MMR? Because you don't seem to be playing against good or decent Survivors.
"Anyway, neither of us are going to change each other's opinions."
Honestly, given how you're just giving up when we have advanced, I wonder if this is how you approach every discussion/argument.
Why be so rude? We literally just have a difference of opinion. I'm sure you'd act like this to my face. Classic internet tough guy.
I'm not giving up on an argument, I've just said my peace. That's it. I don't care what streamers or other people thought about old Freddy. I'm telling you how I feel and my experience with old Freddy.
I didn't even watch your video. Just because someone makes a video of their opinion doesn't mean it's science fact all of a sudden.
And where are your sources on 90 percent of people were crying for a rework? Seems like a number you just pulled out of your ass.
As far as MMR goes. I have no clue and frankly, neither do you because bhvr does not release MMR. That's such a tacky argument by the way. Cringe.
What MMR are you at where you're not having to bait out dead hard btw?
The nerve of ya.

I don't act like it, I actually do think 50% of the playerbase is whiny.
Which strengths were these for old Freddy? Constant aura reveal outside of TR? So what? Aura reveal is nothing if you're M1, and his gigantic weaknesses, as shown in the video, outshine the positives.
And that's fine that you found him and a small minority found him fun, but 90% of the community found him a snoozefest to go against, and unfun to play as. I would rather we not waste resources on bringing back overall unhealthy for the game Killers and simply fix the ones that we have.
"So it's not like he was impossible to win with."
Except that's not what I was saying. "Absolutely not, video proves otherwise. And he certainly struggled to get 4ks, with it being straight up a nightmare against even bad Survivors who knew Freddy's weaknesses."
"is it really a big deal if a killer wants to challenge themselves with a "weaker" killer?"
Also not what I was saying, it's "not a big deal", but if you want to challenge yourself, play Myers, Clown or Pig instead of asking for resources to be wasted on bringing old Freddy back.
Aura reading and slowdown. Two pretty strong killer features. Great slugging killer. Again, take down the sleep timer from 7 to 5 and he would have been fine.
But even then, with dead hard usage how it is, it's really no different than your average killer match. Run behind the guy playing dead hard chicken for 5 seconds before you swing at him.
I had much more fun playing as old Freddy than version 2 Freddy and diet caffeine free coke zero Freddy that we have now.
Anyway, neither of us are going to change each other's opinions. Last word is yours if you want it.

"He was like any killer." Absolutely not, video proves otherwise. And he certainly struggled to get 4ks, with it being straight up a nightmare against even bad Survivors who knew Freddy's weaknesses.
"Sounds like maybe you weren't very good with him."
Sounds to me like you're calling 80% of the DBD community, including streamers who put Freddy at bottom tier, "not very good with him".
Sure. You act like this community doesn't cry and complain about 90 percent of the game mechanics regardless. Most of the community just tried to be the squeaky wheel rather that make adjustments and learn how to utilize a killers strengths to get better.
I thought he was fun to play and I got to rank 1 with him. So it's not like he was impossible to win with. And even if he had a really low kill rate (he didn't by the way), is it really a big deal if a killer wants to challenge themselves with a "weaker" killer?

I'm assuming you've completely forgotten, or weren't there, when old Freddy was in the game?
Freddy was widely considered to be the worst killer in the game, you could save in front of him with no punishment (you thought BT saves at endgame was bad? Imagine it being even worse...), he had ZERO anti-loop, and was a snooze fest to play against. He was just as unfun to play against for different reasons (that being he was completely M1, so no threat whatsoever) and these forums FREQUENTLY wanted Freddy changes + placed Freddy VERY lowly. AND these forums were excited for the rework!
This video is gameplay of how bad old Freddy was. I repeat: Unfun to play against because he was easy to beat as Survivor, and unfun to play as because he had no power whatsoever, extra steps to accomplish basic Killer objectives (infinite aura reading outside of your terror radius is absolutely nothing, as we've all seen via old Legion; downing power is everything, injuries and aura tracking don't decide games)
No. He was like any killer. Could 4k or let everyone out. I had a ton of fun playing as Freddy. Just needed to lower the sleep timer from 7 seconds to 5. Sounds like maybe you weren't very good with him.

From what I can tell, if you escape the trial without ever being downed you get an Iri emblem, and if you escape while being downed at least once you get a Gold emblem. The time you stayed alive only seems to matter if you actually died (i.e. if you last more than 9 minutes before you die you get a silver, if you lasted between 5 to 9 minutes you get a bronze, and if you lasted less than 5 minutes you get nothing). So you may as well just leave, it doesn't appear you actually gain emblem points by just standing around in the Exit.
Mods/devs- can any confirmation on this?
-
@dugman said:
I’ll never understand why survivors refuse to leave when they’re all healthy at the exits unless the killer literally forces them out. I’m not going to chase survivors I literally can’t stop from escaping, it’s pointless, at that point I just look for the hatch to see if I can close it or break pallets or just look around to see if maybe I can catch a survivor who neglected to run to the Exit.
For me I want to stay in the match longer for emblem points. Sometimes to rub it in if they played we're turds. But mainly emblem points.

DBD players will always complain about almost everything. If Im playing survivor and juke the killer for 3-5 gens, they will harrass me and tell me how bad I am for using meta perks. Same thing happens when I play Killer. So it doesn't matter which side you play on. People will always get mad when they lose in a video game. I can't stand this us vs them bullshit on the forums tbh. I wish people would play both sides just to realize how bad the balancing is.
Exactly. Survivors have a worse reputation simply because there are more of them. That's it. End.
-
Yeah. Another why are the survivors so toxic post. Meanwhile, killers are equally toxic but with the exception of ghost face they can't crouch, so I guess that means survivors are way more toxic.
Sigh...
-
Killers that cry about how toxic survivors. As soon as an bp event comes up, the majority play as scummy as possible. Always happens. Luckily the grind is pretty much almost over for me. If I get hard tunneled out like last night, I just finish the game and close the app. Onward.
We'll see how tonight's games go. But guessing more of the same.

You're new to the game aren't you?
If something can be abused, survivors will abuse it.
And survivors abuse these perks all the time. Get downed on purpose after being unhooked with Decisive Strike is one of the most popular ones, especially paired up with Unbreakable or some other perk that allows you to pick yourself back up. Oh and opening an exit gate doesn't deactivate DS, even though escaping is the main goal of the game. So survivors with DS abuse that knowledge as well.
You must be new to life. This was a rhetorical question. But I'll bite anyway. If some survivor decides to use their perk and instead end up being slugged, this burning their single use unbreakable, how is that negatively impacting the killer?
And I play a decent amount of killer and rarely encounter these types of plays since the last DS nerf. Since you may be new to the game, there are various perks that have some counter to slugging. Just assume that any survivor you play against may have one of these perks and play around it. Weigh out the costs and benefits of eating the decisive or letting the survivor waste his time on the ground.
Furthermore, play both sides. This will give you a better appreciation of what annoying thing each sides have to deal with as well as give you better insight on countering the other side's strategies.
Or keep crying about how survivors abuse perks. Totally your call.
-
@Marcavecunc said:
You're the last survivor left, you got downed, you lost. You had the entire match to abuse all those second chance perks you listed and failed at it. Just admit you lost and move on.
Same way everyone instantly dies during struggle phase if everyone else left is hooked and also in struggle. You lost, you die instantly, no wasting everyone's time struggling on hook for 500 bloodpoints, just move on to the next match.
How does one abuse perks (second chance or otherwise)?

I've never really categorized it, but for me tunneling is making an active effort to chase and hook a single, specific Survivor, often at the exclusion of others, ever if they deliberately try to draw aggro from their teammate, must often occurring against a Survivor who has just been unhooked.
It's the thing I most hate running into as Survivor so I make an effort to avoid it as Killer. I've done it accidentally, like mistaking a Meg that was on death hook for my last BBQ stack, and I'm not above slugging off hook if someone is dumb enough to unhook in front of me, but I'll leave them after the hit, then target the unhooker and not interfere with a pickup (Either I force BT, force Unbreakable, or force someone to come for the pickup, barring Exponential or Soul Guard it's a win win for the most part)
Exactly. If someone unhooks me and stealths away and the killer finds me. That's just bad luck. If someone unhooks me and the killers tries to go around a survivor (s) that are trying to take agro, that's a tunnel.
If it's early in the match, it's a skeezy move. If it's a 4 survivor 2 or less gen game, you gotta do what you gotta do I guess.
-
I like to farm as both killer and survivor. Is it the most fun game play? Of course not. But it's also freeing to know you can putz around the map and not worry about being killed.
It's so rare to find killers that farm. It cracks me up when I see a post that goes on about how terrible farm games are. Sorry you had one out of hundreds of games be a little less challenging. Rest assured you can go back to sweating your genitals off next match.

Here’s the problem I have with the Soon meme.
I understand they said a lot of stuff and we still have no information on it. But would you rather them be quiet and release it when it’s ready. Or announce “hey the mori rework is coming in September 2022.” Then September 2022 comes and they go “sorry it’s actually coming out March 2023.”
they don’t won’t to make false promises and keep delaying and delaying something they want it to be ready when it’s perfect
I'd much rather hear there is a delay rather than radio silence.
When there is radio silence, I'm under the impression that they're no longer working on something. When they're is a delay, I can at least presume they're still working on it.
-
This is the first anniversary that I'm not super interested. Partly because of the spoiled chapter not being all that interesting to me. Partly because of the fact that they generally undeliver in their promises.
That said, I hope they have some things that shake up the game/meta/blood point grind. I'm just not going to hold my breath.
I'll be at work so I won't get to watch it anyway.
-
I've p3 all perked all killers from Trapper through Twins. My Trickster is about 2/3rds from being p3 all perks. The rest of my killers are all p3 100/279 perk slots
Survivers I've p3'd all survivors up until Leon. All other survivors from Leon on up are also p3 100/312 perk slots.
It's really silly how big of a grind it is. I mean I've been playing since just after Pig was released. An embarrassing amount of hours and still only about 90 percent through. Of course in a month or so I'll be about 85 percent through when the new killer and survivor are introduced.
Thank God they haven't implemented any band-aid fixes though. /s

They do not want us to max the new killer in one day. That is pretty much it. You have to save up hella codes and tome challenges as well as time a grade reset and very likely waste more than you saved.
But why do they care about if a killer is maxed out on the first day? Like, in the grand scheme of things, who cares? And new killers are usually behind the eight ball anyway since they're learning new mechanics. Why not help them out by letting them get some half way decent perks?

Fun is subjective it was exciting and highly threatening, I found that fun.
Guess balancing the game didn't seem to balance the player base skew.
In an ideal world killer queue should be longer and survivor queue quick because survivor is the elimination role while killer is the full game role.
What you want from the game is higher killer skew so you get a good turnover of your elimination player base and they don't have to wait.
People would care less about getting killed in 2 mins if your queue time was 30 secs. As you said nobody wants to wait 10 mins to die in 2 but being able to kill people in 2 made killer way more fun meaning likely way more killers are playing.
But the people keep wanting to draw out games and balance around a 2k, 2e so half you player base get to feel like they won half the time, while the other half get to feel mediocre middle ground game experience most of the time. Why do you think everyone keeps saying killer is less fun when you have survivor get a 50/50 escape/die and killer get a 33/33/33 lose/meh/win scenario.
The great irony is the search for in game balance and fairness probably created more player skew than the more unbalanced game did.
I'd hate to say it but your point is an argument in support of what I'm saying not against.
Bruh. If I'm solo I don't care how fast I die. If I'm swf no one wants to die and wait 8 minutes for the match to end so they can play with their friends again.

I didn't say it wasn't fun (maybe I implied it a little), but DBD has a very consistent game play most games play out the same way all the time. Just minor variations in outcome based on who makes more mistakes.
If you switch it up or do something different people get really angry. Mostly because they say its not fair.
Its asymmetric its not really meant to be fair. The survivors have a team advantage the killer has a power advantage that's kind of what its set up as. The more we try to balance that out the more bland the game gets.
My fav games as survivor are when we get heavily out matched by the killer, those game are actually scary and thrilling like a survival horror should be. One of the reasons I like facing off against NOED and miss old ebony mori's. The very real threat of elimination made the game exciting, unbalanced but exciting as it should be.
Most people wouldn't say it was exciting because they are too busy being upset over it not being fair and getting eliminated, so they watered down the mori and the game got blander and less exciting as a result.
People got what they wanted, less threat, more balance, blander game experience.
Yeah, because it was so fun waiting 10 minutes (or often times more) and getting mori'd off of the first hook.
-
I think tea-bagging is toxic, but pretty low end on the toxic scale. It definitely doesn't bother me as killer. Just like getting slashed on the hook doesn't bother me as survivor.
To me the only real toxicity is things that make game play unfun and are trolly. Survivors that just hide for 30+ minutes. Killers that slug and never pick up even though you're right under a hook. I had a nurse once just slug me and stand over me until I bleed out. If a survivor picked me up, she just downed me again. I had a Billy spawn literally within 4 meters in a deadzone. Instasawed me and face camped while nodding.
The above examples are actual toxicity. Doesn't happen that much. Tea-bagging and flash light clicking are strategies in the sense that a good looper will use to try to chase/commit to chases. Just ignore them.

When I'm playing against newer survivors I will get 4 stacks of BBQ and then farm with them. I'm not even joking when I say that I don't remember the last time a group that I let live left before there were only a few seconds left on the timer. Idk why this ######### is the norm. Maybe give survivors more points if they leave faster so they will leave and quit wasting my time.
Until I hit rank 1 iri, I stay as long as I can because it helps emblems. I wish it weren't that way, but it is. So many pips lost because I escaped under 9 minutes.
