Nah, artstyle doesnt match in the sligthest, the Killer on those games uses comically and elaborated execution methods and I dont think it could translate well into DBD.

Saying the style dont match and thing like is not good. Dont forget we have ugly sweater and pajama

  • Depend are we talking about the anime or the game? I think the character are too good for dbd but that only because im a fan of the series.

Clearly this was too easy for him. I want to see the 1 minute afk challenge with no tunneling.

Tru3talent did the 30 sec challenge and he play for hook and he average a bit less then 2k i think it was around the 1,56 kill per match. Otz said that if tru3 played a bit more merciless he could have easy get a better ratio and he got unlucky with map too. Ofc he compare that to his personnal experience during the challenge.

The player need to take those stat with a grain of salt because lets be honest both of those guys play this game for a living and they are close to 10k hour so ofc they are going to be good.

I have started doing this in reverse order. So instead of starting with Trapper I started with The Artist. So far I have won (3/4K with no one leaving through the gates) with Artist, Pin Head, Nemesis, Trickster, Blight, Pyramid Head, Oni, and Demogorgon.

I have Drawn (2k) with Twins and Deathslinger.

I have not lost (3/4 Escape through the gates.) yet. I am up to Ghostface and will be continuing this challenge.

I get Otz is trying to show the game is not survivor sided and that it is just a matter of perks and addons. But I have found playing to just outright kill the survivors without relying on perks and addon and trying to get value from them I have played most efficiently than ever.

Let me know if those of you who have been doing this challenge have had a similar experience. I am curious as I was watching someone on stream last night and they weren't doing to great, but they were also assuming because they were perkless that they were going to lose anyway.

Otz did not try to show the game is survivor side or not with the experiment he did that for challenging himself because you know when you are close to 10k hour in the game you need some challenge.

I`m not complaining and my killer gameplays not fantastic, but how the heck u imagine to play killer this days especially now. I don`t play killer often and my first gameplay on lowest rank as possible was against rank 1 survs???? U fecking serious???? Just because i got purple perks it`s don`t mean i play killer often jezzz, like from 1,5 k h killer gameplay is less than 100 h it`s defo need to sort out. MMR system in current state is terrible! Now i see how sad could be a killers life

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/1NGU0JDAZB31/inked20220111071243-1-li.jpg

I dont want to be an @ss but i dont think your mmr is that high because of the perk no one bring boon some of the survivor are not full meta, the item are lackluster compare to normally and no one use a map offering.

This is probably mid mmr and i was i was facing that type of lobby i would have more fun. I could play the build i want instead of 4 slowdown perk

  • Its going to get a nerf lol survivor hate it

  • Killer would be scary and survivor would fear them XD

  • Its fine the guy use is perk to the best of there ability and the survivor kind of fuk up.

On the other way this show how good some people can be with a killer with many hour put in the game.

Survivor can do the same too exept it take a bit more time because you cant do 5 gen in 50 sec but doing 5 gen in 4 minute is possible

The devs themselves have said they are going to nerf it, so I seriously doubt the data shows it’s fine. The frustration is that they are dragging their feet, while nerfing pinhead (who has never been good) after a month.

The dev never said they are thinking about a CoH nerf they said they are monitoring the perk. If we look at their track record for that they gonna say that CoH is fine because the one who bring it die a lot in the match even if the perk gave 10000000 heal to the other player and he mostly got camp because the killer saw him put down the totem

  • Sluzzy is the best one i just dont know if this guy is is serious or a troll. Most of his post are a joke but he have 1 or 2 thing in his post i can agree with so im not sure

Couldn’t you say the same thing about killers AFKing?

I think the logic beind this when a survivor escape they leave with the thing they got during the trial it could be anything but when they die everything they have is lost during the trial.

For killer if 4 survivor escape or if the 4 survivor for the killer its the same after the trial he leave with the thing he got from the trial because he will always leave the realm.

Hope that explain why and i believe this is the reason why its like that for the crown

  • @GannTM said:

5th year anniversary event required survivors to escape with the crown but killers get it by default. Yeah, every single event is survivor sided.

Yeah i completly forgot about the anniversary event. True its easier to get the crown for killer but its not like the event change the way the game is played. Personally for me the real event was the 9k shard and the shrine everyday.

Still the gameplay never change unlike the survivor addon that give hope amytime you want and if you have 100 addon in your inventory you can use them anytime you want even if the event is over unlike the blight vial.

3 am dbd is a different breed and its by far the most fun time to play so many memes so many good chases so many nice people in the end game chat it actually gives me hope in the community when i play at 12 - 5 in the morning

We dont have the same experience mine is 3 or 4 man swf with map offering, the best perk and the best addon on all 4 of them vs me with the best perk, the best brown or yellow addon in the worst possible map i can face. Its really not a fun experience mostly because of the map the perk and item i dont really care i do the same but the map offering are killing my enjoyment.

    Hello everyone

I was wondering if anyone had any tips or strategies to help win on Springwood, or at least stand a better chance as killer? This is my weakest realm as killer, as it is for many others. So many gens upstairs and downstairs, difficult to patrol effectively, and the Preschool building, get caught there and you'll lose a lot of time.

Are there any methods to make this map less frustrating for killers?

The map is all about making the killer lose the only reason you can win in that map its if survivor sucks nothing you can do as a killer

  • @BabyCameron10 said:

I bring this up because I noticed No Mither apparently received a change I did not know of. Out of the ideas the community had on changes to the perk, they just increased the numbers, which is a huge disappointment.

There were ideas of Starting the trail at full health but unable to heal later in the trial. To prevent the killer from knowing the perk is at play and get some use out of it.

Escaping would grant bonus Bloodpoints. Since it’s a “Hard” perk to use

There were probably more but I could only think of these from the top of my head.

This something that the Devs are still doing, an example is the “New” Buckle up. They just increased the number again? The Buckle up changes are just laughable.

They were ideas thrown at the Devs of giving a Borrowed Time effect or Speed boost to the survivor in the dying state which yeah it can be strong but isn’t that the point of a PTB? Try things to see if they are a problem of not?

Yes, It probably is more work to rework a perk completely but at least they don’t have to worry about revisiting it in a while. I don’t get why perks get changes only for them to be back to square one.

    Anybody else feel the same?

Its not that perk chamge are underwhelming its just that the meta is too strong specially for survivor.

Just this mid chapter the change they did to boil over and dead man swich are really good. Some other perk are a miss like wake up and furtive chase.

Like i said before any change they do to survivor perk will ne worthless if the perk is not op. For a survivor perk to be meta or to be play more they need to beat CoH, DH, BT, IW, DS, UB, Adrenaline, etc... beating that its really hard but it does not mean the change they do are bad.

For killer its a bit different the meta for them its all about gen speed so any buff they them need to affect a gen related perk and its really simple its can the perk take the place of my corrupt, deadlock, pop and scourge hook pain resonance if not then its not then the next thing they think is can the perk be good on a certain killer if the answer is yes then you have a good chance to see the perk be use on that killer.

So the biggest issue with all the change they do is the meta the dev create and refuse to nerf or change. The game need constant buff and nerf but they dont do that the meta change a bit once every year that not enough.

I don’t mean end game chat, I mean where people go out of their way to look up your username and send you a personal message about how much you suck. As a killer main, every time, I get a "gg" I am always surprised because I think it is just more hate mail.

Well my friend, who is a survivor main, says he doesn't experience this. Do any other survivors out there share in his experience, or is the opposite true?

Its really rare and when this happen its mostly the other survivor whos going to semd the hate.

The killer normally just go next or complain about the map or circle of healing anyway thats my experience

I just had a game on RPD against a cross-platform SWF, they were playing extremely coordinated when I finally managed to down 2 of them during endgame. When I tried to hook one of them I suddenly got robbed of my ability to move, attack or hook anyone. It was like someone disabled my controls; the rest of their team still was able to move without any issue however. Of course they had no problem with setting up a flashlight save under these circumstances. This is the nastiest hack I've seen so far, instead of boosting the survivors it completely shuts down the killer's ability to act.

Wanna know what's the worst about this? BHVR won't ban any one of them because even video footage wouldn't suffice in determining which one of them performed the hack. This is absolutely appalling.

Bhvr is kinda shite with that problem but you need to consider yourself luck the hacker did not keep you hostage during the EGC.

What i do is i laugh and tell myself wow this is classic bhvr BS nothing i can do and i go next

I didn't say I put on BT against tunneling, but to help out other survivors if they are being camped (hence the "and have something for the camping").

I did escape, I did "win" some matches, I was able to use deception successfully and even power struggle, but I also had games where nothing worked and those games were mostly from a sweat game where they just tunnel you out of the game, no care about the decption, any means, etc.

I did use a power struggle build about a month ago and that went the same way, with me still escaping, but only because I know how to actually play survivor and not my perks giving me value.

And the games where I died and wasn't able to use almost any of the perks was because of A and above Tier killers giving it their all to get that 4k, which can feel ######### a survivor (especially as a solo surv), when you know that DS and BT could have helped in that situation, extending the game and maybe getting a fun deception use.

I guess what I want to say is that, there are games, where if you do not have DS or BT or an exhaust, the game can end for one really quick, regardless of their skill level, making me want to use BT/DS and such in every game, just for that not to happen, for the sake of me and my teammates, but that goes against what I want to do: try out new perks all together and not have DS/BT for once.

I guess I have to apologize to you all for talking so much nonsense. I just feel a little shaken up after trying out new perks, just to be met with insults and not having a lot of fun moments with these perks, since the killer or survivor just want to sweat the game out quickly and move on.

Its understandable its just the way the game is right now. The biggest issue is right now the meta is tunneling because using the hit and run style and catching survivor when they are in a dead zone is dead thanks to boon perk.

The best time to play dbd was the summer right after nemesis but sadly the bad optimisation ruin that patch but that was the time were you could play anything without getting camp, tunnel or slug to much unless the killer you play use those tactic example twin and oni.

The game is just in a bad spot right now for fun and original build maybe when they nerf boon this will change and the sbmm dont help because you are in a certain sbmm with the meta you use the second you remove those perk you should lose for a good amount time because the killer will assume you have the meta and will play to the best of his ability to kill all of you. So because of sbmm you need to trow a lot of match until you face easier oppenant for any original build but this take a lot of match and its really boring to do the only hope the player have is to wait for the dev to do something about that and its probably going to take a lot of time.

  • @About8Genjis said:

I wanted to try a build just for fun and maybe get some fun moments. The build was: Any means necessary, flashbang, power struggle and deception.

Out of the 25 games I played with this game, I got tunneled out in around 10 of them, got camped in 7 of them and the other ones where abysmal, due to the amount sweat that went on in those games.

I soon had to add DS and BT in order to not get tunneled out of the game in 2 seconds and have something for the camping.

Then I added Lithe to have something for the chase, but that means I am already close to a regular meta build.

Same thing for killer, with me soon adding ruin, no way out, pop, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I still had matches where I could use my perks and have some fun, but getting killed a minute into the game + teammates that would insult you in the end game chat cause you are using no meta perks AND the killer spamming "ggez" all killed it for me :P

Are you also experiencing sweaty games 24/7? Cause I feel like the amount of sweaty games have gone up MASSIVELY since the last patch.

I dont think BT will help you if you get tunnel because its only good for the people you unhook. DS is nice if you are solo but that mistly because the other survivor cant do a safe unhook and dont run BT. I dont think you need those perk every game to counter the killer gameplay.

The perk you use had no synergie together so maybe a build around deception would be better like deception, quick and quiet, head on and another perk that can help you at anytime like DS or kindred.

With any means necessary you could have gone flip flop, power struggle and window of opportunity.

Honestly i think the only mistake you did is you had good perk but no good perk combo your are not playing the meta good perk alone wont carry you out of a pinch.

I think for killer its harder because the issue is the time it take for survivor to finish a game so they are kinda force to run slowdown perk unless you drop your mmr enough that you can meme around without worrying about the game to be over after 4 or 5 minute

  • He is C tier the box is completly in the survivor control so what left is his normal power that can slow but survivor break the chain so fast its not worth using if you are more then 10 meter away and if the survivor get any obstacle close by your chain get destroy immediatly with no effort on the survivor part. I cant judge his addon so maybe the addon can raise him into the high C tier or low B tier i dont know

  • Yeah and sadly the next patch after the midchapter is ringu meaning this chapter release not too long after elden ring so its going to be a goodbye to dbd for me until the pvp of elden ring died and if its anything like dark souls its going to take a while before the pvp die.

I just hope the remaining player will have a good game at this point and that CoH get a good nerf

  • CoH need a huge nerf but the dev dont want to work on it right now thay are too busy nerfing clown and twin to look at the BS survivor use

  • @Emeraldwing said:

As the title says. Just generally across all Killers, could Coulrophobia be an effective counter, or be part of a counter build to CoH?

No perk can counter the CoH meta the closest is sloppy but this perk make the survivor heal 75% faster instead of 100% its not that much of a difference

  • Plz at least wait until you can play against him on a regular basis before you complain. That killer is a rare one to face dont ask for nerf until he become the next deathslinger

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Even the worst killers like Trapper, Legion, Mayers, etc. are MUCH more played compare the Twins while they are much stronger than bottom tier killers.

Simple the 5 second stun after a viktor hit, the introduction to boon, the constant nerf she get, the time it for charlotte to pick a down survivor when she use viktor is counter productive and many more thing that i cant think of right now

  • @km66 said:

Just out of curiosity for the killers who chase one survivor the whole match while all of the generators are popping, how is it satisfying to play this way?

I've been in many matches where the killer will chase me most if not all of the match and end up getting one kill because all the generators are done and the other survivors escape.

Even if I get rescued after one or two hooks, the killer keeps coming after me despite the generators being done allowing all the other survivors to escape. Thus resulting in one kill at the end.

I'm just wondering how this strategy or playstyle is satisfying for someone who plays killer? I'm not a killer main but it seems like a boring way to play. I would think that someone who plays killer would attempt to maximize hooks and kills in a match, but maybe I'm wrong after experiencing this over and over again.

Its not most of the time its because a boon is in place and the killer need to commit to the chase because he just lost the hit and run playstyle he is used too.

So instead of catching survivor off guard later he commit to the chase whatever the consequence and he accept hes defeat anyway that how i think and play in my match.

  • Lol the game is survivor side if you want to win as a killer you always need your best addon and you need to play in a way that unfun.

People seem to forget that streamer like otz have more then 5k hour in the game and play this game as a job not an hobby.

For the liscense chapter its the halloween chapter by a miles.

So is there anything at all in the works to fix how unbelievably weak all but 2-3 killers are when dealing with actual good survivors who play to win? I for one love killers like Doc, Nemi, etc but despite being pretty good at the game I basically can't do anything to win. I get sent to a map that is wildly in their favor (yes I know that's most maps) they bring a ton of extremely strong items and full meta perks including plenty of boons. I know when I mess stuff up but feeling truly helpless is really unfun and makes me want to quit this game. This game is so unbalanced when survivors are good that it just makes 90% of the killer cast worthless and doomed to lose.

Please tell me something is going to be done about this because it is just miserable, and no I don't want to switch to survivor or play civ I want the role I enjoy to not be a pathetic joke.

They are doing something they are nerfing the bad killer until the remaining killer base play only nurse and blight

You are one with the nature and you sleep in a tent with a sleeping bag and the only thing you havr to eat are the thing you fish. So when the player say the camper are worthless i feel hurt and hope all those player get ban because this is descrimination toward my hobby.

  • When i want to piss people off i just camp and nod with bubba. I say gg wp in the chat and i let the salt begin i find that so fun i always laugh ofc if survivor dont react its boring but if they do damn its worth :)

  • @ImBrakingBike said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/303889/imagine-a-perk-ban-system

The main problem I see there is that for a system like this to be implemented you'd need to show the killer to the survivors while in the lobby. And we all know it'd just make it near impossible for certain killers to find matches.

Not really as a survivor its not because you face pinhead you immediatly going to ban franklin and hoarder and with the ban you can realise who the killer is.

Yeah but the issue of each side are connected together that why you cant only fix one thing from one side whitout fixing the other.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

I agree with everything in the post, shockingly, except for aura and slowdown being limited to 1 per game. Stacking mass slowdown on high-mobility killers is a problem, but with the amount of perks in the game I'm more for implementing choice-restriction on the killer instead of on the perks.

This would be fair if survivor had access to only 1 perk each but its not like that its 16 perk vs 4 perk.

High mobility killer are great because the map are too big.

The killer have 4 slowdown is because survivor have the possibility to do 4 gen in 80 sec this should not happen but its a possibility. Dont forget survivor mostly run 4 second chance perk themself because they know they dont need gen perk because its so fast its a waste of perk slot.

Can someone help me out in either locating that thread, or listing some good streamers below?

In particular, I'm looking for those that have guides and builds on the following:

you could either be paranoid about a situational, mediocre perk in every game or you could get hit by it once, not lose that much pressure if it's anything other than early game, and then adapt to the perks you know are in play.

I always play around the oppenant perk unless i know what the perk are.

As killer i never pass in front of a locker if i have someone same with pallet. I never look at a gen directly in case of spine chill i never immediatly hit the unhook survivor if he get unhook in front of me cause of BT etc... for all the perk survivor have. I know getting hit by one of those perk can make me lose so much momentom that its gg at that point.

As a survivor its the same i always tap the gen to see if the killer got ruin when the gen is at 70% a look around a lot more in case of tinkerer if i see a dull totem i go near it to see if i get a undying notification and i do that until i know all the perk the killer use and if i see him look around after a hook i assume bbq.

Its not a safe loop or an unsafe loop its right in the middle of that you do a mistake you get hit unlike all the other loop where you can just drop the pallet if you ######### up

Hi, I'm just double checking something here because I dont know if I'm going crazy here.

When I am clearly outclassed by a survivor, I do what I call a "brute force" assault where I completely surrender by refusing to mind game, fool spine chill etc. And just hold W until I get you. This method is supposed to be guaranteed, but it's time intensive and is practically a free loss against SWF but what can you do sometimes.

But this morning I had a Feng where no matter how long I looped the same TL wall, I never made any distance even though I was bloodlusted. I didnt even make enough distance to even consider a lunge attack.

I've played a ton of Legion so I'm not a complete idiot when it comes to M1 gaming, but idk if I've just gone off the deep end here. This has to be a speedhack, right? And come to think of it, I dont recall seeing any windows blocked

Theres no way to outrun a killer infinitely at a TL wall, right? Or am I just that out of it today?

The reason no window got block is probably because you lose chase for a sec you know that when the music reset.

As someone who's secondary complaint about this game is how many borderline unusable perks there are in the game, it's frustrating to see the player base react poorly to terrible perks being given a viable use. There are cases where perks are genuinely too strong, but you can tell what perks these are because they start to replace the meta (which for whatever reason doesn't get nerfed). Mettle of Man was originally a clear cut case, Circle of Healing is not as overwhelmingly busted, but is still probably too strong because it has somewhat replaced the meta. Everyone once thought the change to Lucky Break was completely busted, but how often do you see that perk now?

Boil Over and Power Struggle are not too powerful in their buffed forms. Boil Over isn't the problem, there not being a close enough hook in RPD library (and probably Thompson House) is the problem and that can be solved by putting hooks in the right locations. PS still practically requires Flip Flop, and any perk that requires a paired perk (especially one that isn't good on it's own) will never be meta.

Dead Man's Switch may genuinely be a bit too strong, but I can't tell for sure.

Anyway, as someone who wants the devs to feel rewarded for making perks genuinely useable, please don't discourage them from making effective changes. If we do that as a community, the perk changes/buffs that we will see will all be on the same level as Buckle Up, because people are generally not going to get in as big an uproar about a terrible perk remaining terrible compared to a perk becoming something a killer/survivor has to think about/overcome.

Devs, if you see this, I want you to know that meaningful perk buffs are what keep this game alive for me. Thank you for the buffs/changes that matter.

The perk buff are worthless because the meta is to strong specially for survivor. The survivor perk buff are good and those buff will probably put those perk in a good spot and in the playable perk but no way those perk can see play because of the meta.

For killer DMS only need to beat corrupt or deadlock that all.

So the survivor perk buff are going to go in a waiting room for when the survivor get nerf enough that its worth running other perk then second chance.

For killer its the same they are in a waiting room until the game is slow enough for the killer to run other thing then 4 slowdown perk

To be fair, if I read the Forums, many say the game should be balanced around the Top players. So, the argument that Otz is a very good player is not really valid, in fact, according to the logic of those who want to balance the game around the Top, every Killer should be as good as Otz, otherwise they will get worse results.

You cant balance the game around only the top it wont work. You need a mix of both the top and the middle mmr and for that it take a lot of effort and patch, thing the dev prove to be bad at.

Clown pinky finger is a good nerf top mmr it take that if you want to compete but mid and low mmr its overkill. What is bad about that nerf its if you equip the pinky finger you cant use your yellow bottle anymore.

The time it will take to the dev to realise some killer need better QoL improvment is long and when they decide to work on that it take so much time the player base forget about those change and say this is not the priority.

Here is some stats from different killer streamers. What do you think about this stats and Otz's conclusions. Please be respectful while discussing.

Its otz take this with a grain of salt that guy know all the map like its his backyard and he play this game everyday 6h a day. Most of the player are average and using high mmr is worthless because you cant compare otz mmr to the top mmr of other player because its like comparing a challenger player in league of legend to a pro player its not the same and both are at the top of the game.
