    This. Right here.

I run Dying Light and STBFL often, so passing around the Obsession Stick actively helps me a TON, especially when the cocky Survivor who realized in the earlygame that they had immunity, suddenly loses that immunity, and that I'm actually going to wreck their whole day.

Did you read the title and gasp like I did?

    Please don't stop running ds!

Just last game I had to ACTUALLY save the obsession for last because nobody would ds me.

From what I experienced camping near hook with victor is counterable as you can crough towards him (KI won't activate, not alarming charlotte) and kick him to make a safe rescue. The biggest problem is to know where and how far from the hook victor is.

This is great advice! Sneak around Victor to avoid his beacon.

How would a survivor avoid a camping Charlotte?

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

good camping killers can prevent the save, if you letting the save happen then that is not a good camper, the twins are only good if the camping is happening in the basement since charlotte can get one or both survivors.

bubba can totally prevent a save

hag can stop the save from happening as she patrols nearby or at least get the savior and has stronger basement camping which can easily result in the savior failing and also getting hooked.

the twins can have charlotte nearby to try and get one of the survivors or if camping with victor he either downs a injured survivor going for the save or he latches onto the savior, i have played against a camping victor and if im healed i don't unhook the survivor until he latches onto me so he can't down the other survivor. In other words they have counter play. edit: at least in every instance where charlotte isn't camping basement.

If a player is cheeky like me and places Victor by a hook before hooking the survivor, Victor becomes a beacon.

But Victor can only stay on the map unattended for a short while, then he de spawns.

The counter play: wait till Victor de spawns or get Victor on your own head before saving.

Just like most killers, it's all about counter play.

Just finished my first match of the night, and babby got stuck in the ground THREE DIFFERENT TIMES.

it's the easy dopamine hits that keep me playing this absolute garbage game. Maybe I should go see what Fortnite looks like these days...

To prevent this, try releasing Victor in places that he can still be useful as a beacon in case he gets stuck.

I also keep moving every time I release him.

Also looking at the ground and making sure there aren't any cracks in the map. Only release on solid tiles.

Hope this helps. The twins are so hard to learn, but when you get it, they can become super strong.

"And other than the sound cue she just looks at the floor, you could just run insidious and fool unsuspecting survivors into your trap."

Yes exactly. But this isn't going to work on a not stupid survivor is what I'm saying. You'd have to be very smart with how you use it to get a smart survivor.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1796968#Comment_1796968

I just think it should be base kit. It's not that huge of a change and would make them a better killer against stronger survivors.

The killer isn't really done so, maybe it will become base kit. (I doubt it)

I personally, after suffering the learning curve, really REALLY like the twins as is.

  • Honestly, I don't see why 1 use perks are such a big deal.

I'd rather use a perk all game than 1 that can possibly hurt the killer or save my bacon.

On the killer side I eat ds in order to switch my obsession and keep stbfl stacks.

  • I can hear it right now, and I'm not even playing dbd.

    Seriously tho, probably intentional.

It's not comparable, there is still a cue when Victor is released, there is still a cue when he dies. The only cue you don't have now is when they switch, which leads to more interesting and dynamic gameplay. Whereas removing cues from other killer powers arbitrarily wouldn't actually make things more interesting or dynamic, just frustrating.

I get that point, but the twins can also be frustrating to survivors as is.

Maybe add-ons that remove cues would be a nice middle ground.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1796948#Comment_1796948

Well she shouldn't be able to be parked right in front of an exit gate to block it, but yea if she does this then just go for the other gate. She'd have to come after you as Victor and you can still open the gate with him on you.

You don't need the cues as much as you think. Again there would still be a delay from when they take control, so as long as the killer has to be a certain distance from objects it would be fine.

As far as Victor camping hooks, I saw Coconut doing this and a simple solution would be to have Victor, uh, die off faster in range of a hooked survivor. Then doing this is less a viable option and one or the other has to be a certain distance at all times.

I'll concede that the lack of cues would open up mind games, but killers NEED cues otherwise they become too powerful.

And other than the sound cue she just looks at the floor, you could just run insidious and fool unsuspecting survivors into your trap.

Even with the cue, insidious mind game sounds like it's still viable.

  • Imagine other killers losing their cues.

Demi, nurse, oni, almost every killer would have a buff if that were the case.

That being said, you could still probably fake some people out with insidious. I'm definitely gonna try.

I honestly don't understand how 2 of you now have said you'd get grabbed off a gen easily. Why are you on the gen in her face? Just don't do the gen if the killer parks Charlotte right there. Or gen tap to avoid being grabbed.

The way you beat a mindgame 100% is to not participate in the mind game. Leave a gen go if she does this, eventually she will be forced to switch back. You give her map pressure by returning to the gen. If you go to another gen she gets punished for doing this.

Also keep in mind I never said anything about transition time. It would work for killer the same as now, meaning it would take a moment before they could even attempt to grab you.

What if she is camping mid gen?

What if she is camping the exit door?

I feel the cues are needed for balance for other reasons too.

If I place Victor by a hook, THEN I hook a player by Victor, he becomes a camping beacon. But, he has a timer before he expires and skilled survivors must wait for that expire cue to know when the hook is clear.

His expire timer is shorter than 1 hook state, preventing him from being too strong a camper.

Otherwise, to keep Victor by hook, you HAVE to control him, which is equivalent to face camping.

The twins have a huge strength, and it's map control, yet talk about removing the cues will only make that map control even more powerful.

    Too powerful. Imo

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Rank 4 to rank 13? I...don't believe you. I believe there's 5 pips per rank? You would've had to have depipped in nearly 40 games over the last 4 days with The Twins, and it's quite hard to depip in green and purple ranks unless you're literally going AFK or you DC.

But hey at least you're enjoying the killer now I guess.

Tbh, yeah I went AFK more than I should have, but in my defence it was every game I would get stomped into frustration.

So I would stop trying and just jump around the stage until they finished.

I don't want to play against potatoes, but I can't learn when going up against beasts.

It may also be due to the time of night that I was playing. I find more red rank survivors at night and less so during the day.

Either way I've grown confident enough to stop giving up after being out played. I just wish new/un played killers would start at lower ranks so the learning curve isn't so brutal.

But yeah, you called me out on that one.

  • I disagree.

The twins have map control, and the cues are for balance.

It would add to the mind game, but there's an iri for that.

I feel they would be a little too strong because you could gen camp with charley even easier. The cues are definitely needed to know when you can try for that gen and when you need to start running. Otherwise you'd get grabbed 99% time.

    @keygun

You respond to my response to someone else while calling me a “survivor main crying” simply because I state how excessive slugging is not balanced, but I am the disrespectful one.... 🤔

All while I am not a survivor main as I actually play both sides with prestiged characters and at red ranks to prove it. But go ahead and pop off about how much of a “crying survivor main I am”

Disrespectful comments like "see your way out" as if you actually made a point or added anything to the argument.

Your opinion is that slugging isn't balanced?

    That's your opinion.

But as a killer, you have full free reign over how you decide to kill.

It's not even an issue of balance tho, you just don't like being slugged.

What are you doing to change that?

Are you bringing ub or other anti slug perks that I can't remember the names of?

Or are you just calling something "unbalanced" because it doesn't fit your personal play style?

I'm trying to add to the convo, you're just being angry.

  • I de ranked from 4 to 13 learning the twins.

    It was not fun.

Now I'm good and getting better, but I still agree entirely with OP.

New killers should start at least 10 ranks under whatever your current rank is so the learning curve isn't so brutal.

    @keygun

Maybe refrain from putting words into peoples mouth and they might take you serious.

You don’t even know what I want nor what is being discussed in this discussion considering your response.

    see your way out.

    Lol.

Seriously, you did the same thing assuming I don't want balance.

I never said balance was bad, I'm just pointing out that 1 killer needs enough power to face 4 survivors.

Also, it's in the title of the game.

    Quit being disrespectful.

  • Tips:

Only pounce when super close and try to time their jukes. You'll go further away if you miss, but they less likely to stomp Victor.

Try to keep charley in mid field. Returning to her is less penalizing.

Victor is a beacon and place holder. Need to keep that gen from being worked on, leave Victor close but hidden. Swap to him when he lights up survivors.

Build charley as an basic attacker. Save the best for last is perfect. Sick Victor on the obsession to keep stacks. Use other basic perks like brutal strength.

You can't leave Victor by occupied hooks. After downing survivor, quickly put Victor on the hook you're about to use, hook survivor, then head mid field. If Victor lights up, switch to him. If not, use charley to pressure gens.

    @keygun

So for some reason you seem to think balance is bad?

I don’t even wanna know. Peace out.

    Then why ask?

I'm all for balance, but survivor mains want ds and ub built into base kit.

    Get over yourself.

  • I really don't know if:

    1) this is just bait?

    2) you think he's too weak?

    3) you think he's too strong

I personally don't use freddy anymore because I feel like he's a guaranteed winner.

Slow down freddy, speed up freddy.

However I play him, he gets kills.

I'd suggest a slight nerf tbh.

  • It took me losing around 25 games and dropping to green ranks before I could truly understand their power.

Now I'm a beast, using only twins, until I reach red again.

It's hard at the start, like any killer.

Don't expect your base killer skill to carry you.

You just need to adapt, and try to figure out what to do better.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1794661#Comment_1794661

    @Freki

I am talking about UB in the way that I have experienced it. Just because people have issue with how it combines with DS does not mean people who often complain about UB, aren’t complaining because their excessive slugging didn’t pan out as much as they wanted.

I am not arguing the “rules” behind what you can/cannot do. I am fully aware that your only timer on “Slugging”, is practically the survivors’ dying state bar. No one is arguing that it isn’t in accordance to the game’s rules.

The point is that it shouldn’t be possible to slug as much or whenever you feel like it, without any downside. Because in actuality survivors have to bring PERKS to counter a BUILT-IN mechanic, which can become borderline abused and more so with killers whose powers are encouraged to do just that.

I already expressed my concerns for allowing to happen. Just because it’s not against the rules doesn’t make it any less unbalanced.

    Balanced?

It's DEAD by Daylight. Not SURVIVE by daylight.

Survivor mains crying about balance when y'all have swf and 3rd person perspective. The killer is all alone.

  • How about YOU try playing as the twins?

Getting gen rushed and dodged just to get literally stomped into goo.

Change your play style, or switch to killer.

But complaining about valid tactics not being fun won't sway anybody.

    You can only control you.

  • Also

Victor can hit through lockers because devs too lazy to add the Victor blocking lockers mechanic that they already addressed.

All in all, this killer isn't even done, so try your best against them, or even better, try playing as the twins.

I lost about 25 games in a row before I got good.

    Now I'm a beast.

  • I made a comment about this earlier.

In short: the twins only real strength is map control.

If Victor is babysitting, wait till he de spawns.

If charley is babysitting, don't heal at hook after save.

You have to team up and hook save together, or sit on gens. Same camping counter as other killers.

  • I don't run it.

I fully expect 2 gens to pop before I really start my snowball effect.

That snowball turns into an avalanche quickly enough that I don't see end game.

I can see the benefit, but sometimes as survivor it'll spawn me closer to killer, they run off toward blocked gens, and I do a gen early without even knowing the killer had corrupt.

The new twins perk Oppression is doing very well for me.

It slows game and helps me find survivors that missed the skill check.

Corrupt is 1 and done, I don't use ANY 1 and done perks. (Ds, unbreakable, hex totems)

I only use perks that give me advantage all game. (Brutal strength, inner strength, bbq, STBFL is my favorite. )

  • I run Save the best for Last.

I actively will try to eat ds in order to switch obsession.

Keeping them stacks on basic attacks will win me the game.

Bring ds, and use it, it helps me.

    - the killer

  • What I've noticed and have been doing:

I CAN'T place Victor by a hook if someone is on it.

I CAN place Victor by a hook, THEN I hook the survivor with Victor babysitting.

Victor can only stay out for so long (idk the duration) you have to switch to Victor in order to reset timer. After switching, you cannot switch back unless you leave hook area. (Preventing Victor camping)

Victor can miss big time, unless you lock animation (windows, pallets)

Missing can cost Victor even more, just smash him if he misses.

My advice is to wait until Victor either moves or de spawn. Then unhook safely.

Or, double up and taking protection hits, like you would normally have to do for camper counter.

Even if he camps, 1 unhurt survivor can get grabbed by Victor, and still unhook the survivor.

He has camp potential, but so do the other killers. And when you play him, you'll see, he has so many weaknesses.

Just stop rushing hook, Victor will de spawn over time and cannot be left by hooks while occupied.

Or keep rushing hooks giving me easy 4k.

  • Wow.

Thanks devs for neglecting this game and the community for so long that I've grown numb.

    I am a consumer.

    Insert more content.

    I will obey.

  • The negativity is warranted.

The devs ######### the bed on this, like they do every time.

Nah, toxic people want you to take the bait; being toxic back reinforces the behavior, either because they wanted the attention in the first place or because you're confirming their belief that all ______ are toxic. They hate it if you shrug it off and don't care. And tbagging isn't necessarily toxic, survivors can use it to say hello or thanks or as a tactic to try to bait the killer into a chase (I never chase the tbaggers or flashlight clickers, don't fall for the designated distraction). I've had survivors disconnect because I didn't take the bait and chase them, which tells me I'm doing something right lol.

I mean, you can handle it however you want, obviously. But like I said, it reinforces the behavior and creates an endless cycle, which is just... exhausting.

Yes, t bagging can be used tactically like alot of other behavior people immediately consider toxic. But the person behind the controller will know the difference

I think it does. The one who initially was toxic deserves toxicity back. But it has to be obvious that someone was acting 'toxic'. Camping when the gates are powered is not toxic. Tbagging is toxic no matter what.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

One shouldn't wrestle pigs in mud.

    [Insert relevant idiom here]

By not being toxic and brushing toxic actions aside you are all the healthier for it. And they failed in there toxic attempts if it doesn't bother you.

Genrush, straight facts. And abuse windows.

His pounce is similar to mountain man but much easier to handle and faster to ready but not chainsaw. If you expected a hillbilly to ready up and curve at corner, expect demogorgon to play simple without that much complexity. But...

Some loops have a special interaction with it. One of those car loops you see in badham for example, demogorgon can literally slide off the front or the back (short side) of the car, which can actually make him pounce to you as a surprise. It's unexpected, but not hard to do at all. You can do it on your first or second attempt if you try.

Your second example is exactly what happened. Slid off the side of car and still got me with pounce.

Can he side swipe windows with pounce?

  • There are a lot of "reasons" a player may tunnel someone right out the match.

What you brought, what you're wearing, how their day is going... etc.

Just gotta keep your chin up and try a different perspective. Maybe the killer is more afraid of you, even tho he's armed.

Maybe it was his tactical choice to eliminate early.

Regardless of the killers reasons, by not letting it get under your skin not only is he failing to troll, it is also more healthy for you.

Survivor functions pretty well, maybe sometimes I get hit through a pallet or a window and I think "theres no way".

But every time I play killer theres always something like a missed grab animation, a downed survivor teleporting, or poor hit tracking.

As a killer, I have only slugged to death one time.

I've played enough survivor to know how much it sucks to have bad teammates. One round, there was a guy that I never saw once till everyone else was dead. He never unhooked. He was never on gens. The team seemed to be down a player. The team struggled, they only got two gens done before 2 were sacrificed and one was on hook.

So after putting that third person on hook I left. I thought maybe they were being stealthy but still playing.

Wrong. They were hiding the whole match. The person went from first hook to dead, without suiciding, without getting unhooked. As soon as they died, I luckily found hatch and closed it. I ran to the exit gate and found them there. They had been hiding the WHOLE TIME. So I slugged him. That's the only time I've done that. It ticks me off that someone can be so selfish as to not help teammates at all for the entire match.

Besides that, I play fair. No face camping, no hitting on hook, no slugging without tactical reasons, no teabagging on crouchable killers. And if I'm getting stomped, I take the L, say GG WP, and move on.

Most survivors I face on the other hand....if I get stomped, I don't go to exit gate. I just don't. That's negativity I don't need. I stand in a corner and check my phone until they get the message and leave. Just a while ago I got a Rank 2 Nancy absolutely murder my rank 13 ass and teabagged at gate like they accomplished something. Great job, you beat someone who's been playing less than a month. Whoop-de-freakin-doo.

You're in no way obligated to play fair, but that you choose to do it is commendable.

Avoiding toxicity is nice, but even when playing fair people will be toxic.
