I enjoy playing huntress, so I wouldn't mind if it was nessessary
-
You are red rank survivor and purple rank killer. You made more progress as survivor and saying this game is killer sided?
Also, how are you red rank survivor if you don't like to repair gens and get downed easily? How do you rank up?
-
Taunts would be used for bullyng, which is not nessessary bad thing, because half of playerbase love being toxic. Good selling point for #########.
Custom mori animations also good idea.
I thought about skins for items to show rarity, but custom skins are also interesting idea.
A lot of things could be customised. For example, skins for hooks.
Great idea from someone's thread: customisible basement. Like different walls, floor, hooks and maybe creepy furniture.
Shiny trials for survivors. Lot of survivors rely on running and distracting killer role. Shiny particles make you more noticable. New way to show that you don't fear the killer.
I would suggest same particles for killers, but they are don't really have particular reason. Killer woudn't see it. Survivors wouldn't fear or admire it.
Sounds for survivors. Like whistle or claps to attract killer or teammates.
Custom totems for killers.
Skins for pallets and breakable walls.
Some killer weapons are not customisable. It could be new skins for bear traps, invisible bell, chainsaw, hatchets etc.
-
If we put hacker hysteria away, I would say that games switch to f2p mode when it nessessary. It become nessessary after about 10 years from release. Or when dbd get some worthy competitors in its genre, which lead away a good portion of playerbase.
At current state dbd in good position, so it doesn't need to think about f2p for a while.

if you play this game alot this 4 minute slug happens more often than you think. Sometimes really toxic killers even do it to new players who are just getting into it. Happens to me 1-2 per day if I play alot and isnt neccessary.
Rarely will you bleed out more than 2 minutes. Most of those cases are hopeless slug garbage and a dc wont make a difference apart from wasting less of your time... Neither survivors nor killers should have the power to hold a game hostage. A good permanent solution is either suicide after 2 minutes or dc penalty removal. And we all saw how awful the dc penalty removal was...
In my expirience, when I dedicate whole day for dbd and survivor, killers never slug this much. Last time I even made a build that make me want being slugged. Tenacity, Flip-flop, Unbreakable, Power struggle. I played normally, I didn't hunt killer to down me. Played about 30+ matches and they slugged me about 2 times to make pallet stun ready. It was purple + red ranks.
I know I play survivor less than survivor mains, but last time I was slugged for 4 minutes maybe was this spring or summer. Don't really remember. Sometimes they slug for 2 or 3 minutes, which is also rare. And I don't really wanted to suicide in that case though. So I genuinely don't understand slugging problem. It probably depends on difference in time zones and areas.
-
When I play Legion I often look back because Julie's breath sounds like survivor.
Survivors have very silent breathing. Footsteps and grass moving are little bit louder.
-
I'm all ears would be absolute best on Huntress if cooldown was 20 seconds. It often triggers on injured survivor who get hit while vaulting and show slug aura. It happens way too often so this perk is very situational at current state.
-
I enjoyed Trail of Torment when I played Executioner. Same as Dark Devotion. This tricky terror radius perks are fun to use. And I liked Oppression when I played Twins. And I also like Surge when I play some m1 killer without better perks.

Deerstalker: obviously outclassed by Infectious Fright, which helps make the slugs. But I think deerstalker is one of the top 10 killer perks assuming you have zero DLC.
Thrilling Tremors: some people call it the poor man's BBQ, but I find the info slightly better than BBQ. Still, the bloodpoints make me not use it as much lol.
Poor man's? BBQ and Thrilling Tremors have exact same price of licensed DLC with only 1 killer.

Yes, because being slugged on the ground for 4 minutes is the EXACT same thing as being injured and able to run around and freely work on something. Great logic there buddy, keep up the good work.
And you don't see the problem of suicide while slugged? Any suicide is game breaking. If you suicide on hook early, because you value your time, your team will lose. And if you had an option to suicide after 1-2 minutes slugged, that would be same thing. You asking for suicide because you don't want to play. And if you don't want to play, don't start playing. Spend you valuable time on something more important.
How often you get slugged for 4 minutes? Once, twice in a year? I won't believe if you died from bleed out more that that. But if you get an option to suicide you will use it everytime you have an opportunity. And this is unfair to your teammates and to killer. You are not the one who playing this game.
-
As killer you will often meet survivors that bully you verbally or beg you to not kill them because they have some hard challenge. That would break the game in my opinion.

Instant teleport hits? I'm on console, what's that?
I get a nice 2 sec delay before I can even move after a teleport
If you see someone run in direction of trap you need to spam teleport button to teleport instantly and hit while survivor is confused. It only works while chase when you see someone about to trigger your trap. It doesn't work with random trap triggers because you don't have enough time to react. So I'm not sure if it only pc thing and impossible on console.
-
I don't remember there was shard discounts on characters. You may wait, but I wouldn't hope.
-
It was obvious at the start that it should be linked only when it justified. For example Nea's Graff-Crafter should be only linked as head and torso with pants separated. Jane's Goddess Muse should be only linked as torso and legs with head separated. Killer's weapons are linked for no reason. Most of silent hill cosmetics are linked without good reason, except legendary character replace sets.
I don't know if it difficult to fix, but sets are inconvinient at current state.
-
You probably ended this match with exit gates opened. If exit gates remain closed you would get extra 10 points to gatekeeper emblem.

So I want to start by saying that at this moment kicking a Gen with no regression perks like Overcharge and pop is ABYSMAL its confuses me that kicking a gen pretty much does nothing to it and just a simple tap from a survivor stops its regressions.
I think kicking a gen by default should have more of an effect, there's a few ways that you could do this,
1, An 8% regression everytime you kick a Gen by default with out any regression perks.
2, it applys 200% regression when kicked (like ruins regression but only for that kicked gen)
3, gens need to be worked on for 10 seconds before the regression goes away, what i mean by this is that a Gen will continue to regression with tapped and needs to be fully worked on for a decent amount of time for its regression to stop apply when not being repaired.
What do you think of these ideas?
I agree about #3, working on a gen instead of taping it while running would be fair.
But 1 and 2 would be overpowered. When you scare survivor from gen you have choice. Kick the gen and give survivor distance or ignore gen and hit survivor. With this changes you will always kick the gen. Survivors will blame killers as "gen campers" as new unfair strategy.

I'd say it's the toxicity of this game as it's easy to kill but hard to survive. So as a survivor you will consistently get a bad team and have a bad game and so it makes for alot of unhappy people. I've never played as the killer and felt frustrated, but as a survivor on the other hand I've gone from disinterest to rage quiting, to contemplating quitting this game all together. It's highly unfair to survivors as I can point out many examples as to why it's harder to play as such, and anyone who says otherwise probably only plays as the killer and likes their easy borderline free kills... Anyway my point is that the people playing survivor probably ain't that toxic but the game makes them that way. Blame the game.
Can't agree. I'm not a survivor main but I play survivor enough and I know the ######### they face. They face teammates playing poorly, teammates that suicide early, killers that can slug or camp and tunnel early, many killers with sweaty builds or/and strong powers in a row. But it never makes me mad at them in post game chat. I can ask "what did I do that you decide to tunnel me ignoring everyone you see?", but I never go toxic. Maybe because I grown up enough. But point is, player decide to be toxic not because game makes him go that way. We all play the same game, but not everyone get that mad in post game chat.
-
What next you will ask? Suicide while injured? Suicide while repairing a gen?
If you don't like being slugged take some perks to prevent slugging. Unbreakable, Soul guard, maybe even No mither.
-
Game doesn't have its own voice chat or any chat in match. Because devs said it would be unbalanced. But they can't turn off your discord or skype while you in game. This is what I trying to say.

Before SWF was added devs said that they would need to do "balancing changes as 4-man survivors on voice communication would be obviously unbalanced" yet no balancing changes were done. But personally they should start by limiting certain perks SWF can use. For instance OoO should be never allowed for SWF as now you have 4 survivors who know your exact location and move the entire game.
OoO require full rework. I don't think it's possible to restrict some perks for swf.

1st hook moris are the only thing I will agree with you there.
Iri head is stupid strong, but has the same counterplay as regular huntress, so if Iri head huntress is OP, then maybe base Huntress needs to be looked at. But she's not OP, so Iri Head isn't an issue balance wise
Double Iri Doc is SUPER ######### ANNOYING, but not OP, not in the slightest.
I will never understand complaints about Spirit. She has counterplay, she has ways you can deal with her. I think Stridor on Spirit is OP, but Spirit otherwise is perfectly balanced and fun to verse IMO
Mint Rag Hag isn't OP. Very very strong, yes, but not OP. Rusty Shackles, well, the only time that becomes an issue is if she's able to grab you, but that's not very common. It's hella annoying, but it's fine
Face Camping Bubba? Did you REALLY just say that's OP? Are we playing the same 1v4 asymmetrical horror game where 1 full chase = 3+ gens being done? Seriously? If it was a 1v1, then yeah, face camping Bubba OP as all hell. But in the 1v4, omfg don't make me laugh
"Freddy's impossible to determine lunge" every lunge is impossible to determine due to latency. Also, his lunge is the same as every other Killer's, he just doesn't have an animation that fits it because he's so short and his arms aren't that long. I'm all for Freddy getting extendo arms like from the movies to match his hitbox, but it's the same as every other lunge.
Iri Huntress (with infantry belt ofc) has same counterplay as regular huntress. But regular hutress actually pretty strong without iri add-on. If huntress is patient enough you will not avoid hit no matter how hard you try.
You probably talking about beginner huntresses which are harmless with any add-on. But regular huntress is literally unbeatable with iri heads.
-
I think they know. This is why survivors don't have any in-game chat within match. But what do you expect devs do to swf with side software communication?
-
Rocket league has such feature. In dbd it would be great for improving, learning new tricks and we could also report cheaters with demo file instead of video evidence.
-
I never played toxic as survivor. But not every killer bring mori only vs toxic survivors. Sometimes they brought mori against me and kill me right from first hook. When you bring mori you judge players in lobby by their outfit and name but in game they might not do anything offensive.
-
Keys are not a big problem in solo queue. Most of the time they can't even find the hatch in time. But if it's 3 or 4 man lobby with communication, they can flush your efforts down right when someone got killed and 3 people (which were hooked 1-2 times) just find hatch and wave hand to you. It happen once to me yesterday. But only once so I can take it.
But most of the time it's not that easy to escape with the key. You need to repair gens, find the hatch, find someone else and convince him to go with you. It's possible if you 3-genned youself and hatch spawned somwhere out of triangle. Keys already situational. I think they wouldn't be nerfed to useless state.
-
Or you can just slug them on 5 gens. If you want easier escape get ready to scummy play from killer.

ScottJund has a Huntress guide that's still relevant. Huntress isn't that hard of a killer to get the grips of. Your entire game plan is throwing hatchets. The better you throw them, the better you do with her. Crosshairs help a lot as well.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1319909348
Pretty much this. Only outdated points are ruin was reworked and hitbox while healing was fixed. But advises and techniques are still useful.
Playing huntress can be painful when you miss 5 hatchets in a row because of rush and gens pop like crazy. Or when you have great opportunity to snipe someone but you are out of hatchets.
-
It doesn't seem like an easy fix.
Easy fix to keys is make 5 seconds progress bar to open hatch. And if survivor cancel opening, he has to fill progress bar from start, same as totem. Getting hit while opening also resets progress bar. And after opening hatch survivor don't escape immediately. Same as when you open chest and don't pick up item. When you open hatch you need to press spacebar again to escape.
Whole point of my suggestion is survivors can't escape right in front of you anymore. And they can't escape while chase.
-
Demo was my worst killer before I get PH. I'm pretty harmless when I play him. I don't play nurse but even she doesn't seem that hard to play as.
-
At least he wasting his own time as well.
-
I think they should release dozen of required dolls in one tome someday.
-
You don't need to run and look behind constantly. When you know what is ahead you may look behind quickly to make sure what killer is up to. If you only look at killer you will stuck into something and die. Look at killer to get info and plan your next move. Wait on corners of loops for killers red stain to know which side he come from. As survivor you can hide from killer's field of view and stil see where he go.

My sister loves to run Sprint Burst. I find it detrimental unless it's paired with Fixated. At least you're walking faster while you save your Sprint Burst
I tried this combo. It gives you bad habit to save your sprint burst. You actually don't need to save it. 40 seconds cooldown is nothing compared to wasting ######### ton of time walking when you trying to save your sprint burst. Best way to save your sprint burst is catch cooldown on last second. In this case you can run plus you have sprint burst ready if you need it.
-
My must have for solo survivor is sprint burst. All the rest perks can be anything you can imagine. I can play without sprint burst as well, but it would mean I get only 0.002% chance to escape. With sprint burst chance raises to 6%

I've been playing since haddonfield had a killer shack, respectfully I ask you to shut up. Quitters still quit, I get forced into 3v1s constantly. Fix the balance, bugs, hacking, and game design. Then punish quitters. I'm open to hear about chase counterplay for Deathslinger tho, especially since he ruins every survivors fun ;)
So you suggest not to punish those who ragequit? Why exactly they should not be punished? Because there are bugs and hackers? I know game have bugs, game breaking bugs get fixed relatively fast. We had bugs when we stuck in one place and couldn't move. These bugs was fixed long ago. And hackers are extremely rare to be reason to not punish quiters. Most of the time quiter should be punished because he doesn't want to play. And if he doesn't want to play, why would he care about penalty?
You want penalty to be removed not because there is bugs and hackers. You want to quit because killer is hard to play against and you want to play against easier one. Deathslinger only ruins your fun, and it's your own problem. You say you often get into 3vs1. Then why you leave first if you know how much it sucks? Because you don't care about the others. And, i'm sorry, but your penalty is absolutely deserved.
-
When I spam his attack like crazy I lose so horrible. I'm worst ph in history. Good ph should be precise in his shots.
I guess you should abandon loops against ph. Gain a distance when he lost you behind the wall and trying to do range attack.
-
Sloppy butcher is another bad choiсe. Huntress doesn't benefit from m1 perks like sloppy butcher, stbfl, noed, franklins, surge, etc. Because you will often use your hatchets even if you in range of meelee attack. Hatchets have faster recover speed, so after throwing a hatchet you are instantly ready to make another hit. Plus huntress is slow killer so it's a bad idea to chase survivors for meelee attack.
I used to play with Bitter murmur. It's good but situational. When gen popped, you often busy with something else so you often have no time to this auras. Plus this ######### bubble from gen covers auras for 2-3 valuable seconds. I think this perk should replace gen bubbles with something less annoying. Pink gen aura for example.
Another great perk is I'm all ears. But sometimes you hit injured survivor while he vault and it procs on his slugged body. If cooldown was at most 20 seconds I would replace discordance for this perk.
My build is BBQ, Nurses calling, Discordance, Whispers. It's a 4 detection perks. If you manage to not miss hatcets often, you will not need slow down perks. Can't say I don't miss hatchets. I miss and I lose. But I enjoy playing huntress no matter if I win or lose.
-
Whispers on huntress is abolute must have. You have 40 meters lullaby. It means survivors always prepared to hide from you early. So you often will seek for survivors. And whispers help to not waste your time looking for survivors in places where they don't hide.
-
I started playing dbd after I watched series of letsplays on youtube. So I knew the basics when I started. I wonder how would I learn about gens and hooks if I wasn't prepared, because game only give several tips on loading screen. And it looks like new players doesn't notice tutorial option in main menu. Game should probably obsessively suggest to complete tutorial at very first launch.
-
I can agree. 5 sets of recolored default skins and no killer doll. And blue ginger root for level 70 is ridiculous.
-
Dude. You are not the one who have hard time playing against sertain killers. But guess what. If you leave, your team will lose. And you are the whole reason your team lose. And how do you think they feel when they lose not because they played bad, but because they don't have enough hands to make gens in time and escape. You talking about frustrations, but bring frustration to your team like it's not a big deal. That's pretty hypocrite, you know.
I advice you to learn how to play against this killers. If you leave early you never learn and you never get fun time playing against them. Die trying and lose is more satisfying than lose without trying. Am I wrong?
If you don't want to play, you better not play and not ruin games. I tired to report people like you for intended losing and unsportsmanlike conduct.

Alright, which one is toxic?

But how will I tunnel survivor mains that I assumed would be extremely toxic from looking at them on the lobby screen?
But what if you mistaken and thought I'm a toxic survivor main and mori me from first hook for no reason? It hurts, you know.
-
Keys require you to do 5 gens. Same as in game without key. 4 gens done for 3 man escape, 3 gens done for 2 man escape. It takes whole match or sometimes half of match. If you got 4 man escape trough the hatch, you would lose even they wouldn't bring the key.
Mori required you one hook to kill one survivor early and make game almost unwinnable for survivors. Match is ended almost at start.
Mori was much stronger than keys. Why should it be explained?
-
I got it for free for some reason...
-
I get adept only wnen survivors 3-gen'd themself. And twins probably best 3-gen defenders even against 4 survivors.
-
@Canas said:

Keys are up to 400% more broken than moris due to the fact that they technically can grant immediate victory for up to 4 players whereas moris only work for one person, the killer. They also still work without the survivor needing to do anything just by letting your teammates die off. Killers meanwhile are still required to catch, down and hook survivors to get any use out of a mori.
Are you serious? Immediate victory? You need to play whole match to make 4 man escape with key. And you needed one hook to kill one survivor early and make game almost unwinnable for survivors. Keys are much more fair than moris used to be.
-
I feel like i've been heard! Devs changed mori conditions! But I also heard how much time it take to make a tiny change so it's probably just a coincidence.
