We'd still like to do more. The issue is that usually, there isn't as much to talk about. We tend to announce stuff in news posts these days, so the only time we have reason to stream is for A: Q&As, and B: New content reveals.
When we used to do them weekly, we would end up answering the same questions and talking about the same stuff, so a lot of people just wouldn't bother watching. Then when it came time to actually announce something, loads of people would miss it because they didn't expect anything new to be announced.
Something I'd maybe like to try (don't hold me to this, just spitballing) is having dev streams- like the ones we have now- and then more casual community focused streams (i.e. no news or anything, maybe some gameplay, you just watch if you want to hang out and talk to us). Again, this isn't planned at the moment, but if that's something you guys would be interested in, we could try to see what we can do.
Show us more stuff behind the scenes. The developers from inside and limbo made several streams explaining all the technical stuff about developing in the engine, modeling, problems and solutions. It was really interesting.

Seems to me you're just passing the blame to the survivors for your tunneling behavior.
I don't blame you or the survivor though. I blame BHVR for their game design that encourages tunneling.
When I play survivor and do a risky unhook (or the killer just comes back immediately) I ALWAYS present myself as bait to chase me. I also run around to mud the scratchmarks of my mates. Imo THATS how a good team mate plays. Taking the attention of the killer when needed instead of avoiding it and watching how your team mates are getting slaughtered.

It’s not “too risky”, you struggle with it. It takes time to learn how to track survivors and you won’t get better at it if you don’t practice by attempting it.
It may feel risky initially because it’s not a skill you’ve developed. In the end you aren’t trying to learn how to do that’s nd are doing something easy.
its your right to do it, but own up to it and don’t blame another player for your decision.
Sorry but either you are trolling rn or you have no clue what you talking about.

@xmenfanatic said:
As someone who plays killer as well, from my perspective it sounds like you’re blaming someone else for your decision to tunnel and not seek out the survivor who unhooked. shrugs
i agree some survivors unhook way too soon. But those are separate issues. You can say one causes the other, but in the end I don’t feel like that’s ever an issue for me to have to tunnel someone so I don‘t see your logic there.
Searching is way to risky. As killer you need to keep your momentum running. Searching someone without results might be the biggest reason to lose a game because the lack of pressure. Especially searching a Blendette with urban on a stealth map, not worth the effort.

Needing a specific perk to counter a Killers Power is not a good thing to strive for, and you should know that. It's bad design, UNLESS you know upfront which killer you're going to face (which is not the case).
Also, the Meta exists for both sides. Look at the Perks that are used in high ranks by Killers. There's not so much variation as well. Occasionally there's somebody trying a new build (kudos to everyone who does that!), but an awful lot of times you see standard builds containing: BBQ, Ruin (both I consider them to be the gold standard). Let's not forget fun combinations like Enduring + Spirit Fury (those Pallets! REEEE), Sloppy Butcher or NOED.
Killers slap on those perk builds without much thought, and they can, because it simply doesn't require much thought (and honestly that's completly fine!).
To sum it up:
1) The way spirit affected and still affects the game is not good at all, and to me it means that there should definitely not be "more of this".
2) Meta Perks are fine, they exist on both sides. Yes, they don't require much thought, on both sides.
Agreeing here. No more spirit like killers who "mindgame" you by standing still aka just flipping coins from survivors side. Its already hardly bareable to verse multiple spirits in a row. Versing tryhard Nurse killers is actually really refreshing and I appreciate versing Nurse.

Each stream isn't really just one hour though, I imagine there's a decent amount of prep before each stream as well as a clean up time after. So who's to say how long it really takes?
I doubt that the actual game coders are doing all of that work. There are probably other people like community managers who set up and clean everything
-
@Peasant said:
Transparency is a good thing to have in a community, but with how slow the BHVR team is I'll take less transparency if it'll help the devs avoid being like that Yandere Dev.
(For those unaware, Yandere Dev is a developer that spends more time streaming than coding. This has led to the development of his most popular title "Yandere Simulator" slowing down to a snail's pace.)
It would be scary when the devs are streaming more than coding by having a 1 hour stream per week.

For wanting to see Scratch Marks, or for wanting walking to be faster?
Scratchmarks. Not only for us experienced players, but more for the new players. U can't imagine how many survivors don't know what scratchmarks are and how they work. Even at green ranks.

2 years ago dbd had a much better atmosphere just by the old lightings and graphics. Now it feels a little bit like a fortnite game. Im missing old dbd.
-
Calm down. It's the first dedicated servers performance test (previously was just a stress test) and a lot of stuff is already working very well. If the devs keep working on that and maybe get some more experienced and professional people outside its going to be perfect.

- Nurse cant turn her camera when being fatigued.
- oke
- i dont feel like this is a good idea, but Hey thats me. But how would you replace it?
Nurse can a little bit. But also, Nurse is a complete different killer tier. The fatigue is what makes her balanced imo.
No clue honestly. I haven't invested much time thinking about another ultra rare, do you have an idea?
-
Yeah I though the same at the first few hours. But after versing some M1 spammer I got quite annoyed. It's not a big deal at the end, is just a little QoL change. Something like locker jump spamming doesn't show explosions to the killer anymore to prevent toxic behavior from survivors.
-
@ChrisFuFuu said:
Yes, they are also seperated like the bloodpoints.
Thanks lad
-
What does "riot" mean tho?
-
This game as so much potential for QoL changes. Sadly, the devs don't care that much about things which improves the general quality for long time gamers.
I remember when we suggested build profiles around 1 year ago and the devs said "yeah yeah good idea.." and Well, still no build profiles. Gg wp I guess.
-
Imo moris in general should require that every single survivor was hooked at least once before anyone can be moried. This would be a really healthy change to prevent tunneling.
-
He needs a fix first, revealing is a buggy mess.
-
I find it quite funny and sad.. The community is asking for any kind of reward since day 1 of dbd. And Bhvr just says "nope" and gives us another grind mechanic called battlepass. I personally don't know who is making these decisions at bhvr. But that person shouldn't work on DbD anymore. He is missing what the community wants and what's really needed.
It's just a matter of time till dbd turns into a game like we all hate nowadays.
-
Don't tunnel. Learn and accept it already.

BHVR never tend to give out dates anymore until it's 100% ready and set in stone as in the past even a hint of a date being said was met with many posts from unhappy people complaining if what they said had to change due to unforseen problems.
Why aren't they just ignoring these morons?
-
@Peanits said:
We have never announced an exact release date for the next chapter. The only thing we've mentioned so far is September. Once we have a date, we'll let you know.
Is bhvr careful about saying a date because you are still working to change and fix a lot of stuff or is it something because of licence and Netflix? I would guess bhvr agreed with Netflix that Netflix wants to announce the release?
Well, how I know business and Bhvr you aren't even allowed to tell us even that
-
@Peanits can you give us information?

I feel uncomfortable without adrenaline and dead hard

No, harvester tricks are fine. Killers can do a trick on that harvester aswell

@justarandy what are you talking about XD I play PS4 and turning up camera sensitivity was the only way to play nurse, being able to 180 while phasing is crucial, I usually even just keep the camera on the while phasing to guess if it’s worth the lunge or second blink (gotta remember the spot your blinking too while looking around)
No clue what you are talking about. But I'm playing Nurse since realease on pc and the ps4 version doesn't allow you to do important turns during the teleport.
-
How is it a buff when the best Huntress players don't need that? Also, many monitor have the ability to display a crosshair, are they all cheating now?

@Entity_Free_Zone said:
I've, as Killer, had times where someone tries to blind me, I turn 180 degrees so my back is facing them, and my screen continues to white-out until I get blinded and drop the dude I was carrying.
It seems messed up on both sides.
Can confirm. It's a little bit buggy on both sides. Sometimes I was getting the blind after the kilker moved but still nothing happens. Idk what is causing this. Flashlight saves are very rare anyway. Smart killer will not give you the opportunity to try it in the first place, so I can personally deal with that for now. But still annoying a bit

There is nothing like genrush. Gitgud with your killer.
Genrush exists. When you don't heal and unhook last second just to pump gens it's literally genrushing. You ignore everything which isn't a big problem and sit on gens with adrenaline.
Also, genrush is a general term to describe "gens are going to fast". But we are all humans, and humans are lazy. So we just say "genrush" instead of "gens are going to fast"
-
Tru3 did some little mistakes, but he is a human so it's normal. HOWEVER, even when he played it perfectly without mistakes, the result would be quite similiar. The only way to beat such a team is Nurse.
-
"No the reveal is not inconsistent"
The reveal mechanic is buggy as hell. Even big streamers who play this game more than any normal person here confirmed it (for example @ScottJund and Puppers). Ghostface is an unfished product and very frustating for both sides.

I readed, and I still think it doesn't count as DC if it was crash.
So, what's gonna happen in the HUD then? There is clearly going to be the DC icon on your spot. And its simple logic: you DISCONNECTED from the host because your game crashed. Therefore it's a DISCONNECT (DC). I don't know how else to explain it, it's like 1+1. The only question is if the devs are counting these types of DC'S for the penalty.
-
I tried ps4 dbd some days ago and played Nurse. It's a bit tilting because the controls are garbage, the camera speed is garbage, u can't move your camera while blinking for some reason etc..
I still slaughtered all survivors every time I played Nurse. But it's not a fun experience like on pc.
Edit: the only reason why I was doing well is because of my previous experience on pc (playstats is showing me that I did over 11k blink attacks).
-
I'm not a spine chill, I don't like it. Usually used by noobs. They will never get hooked while their team mates are getting carried to their death hook. Super selfish. Idc, nerf it to the ground I wouldn't miss it.

It's not, if the game disconnected the player. Hello how the system works if you start with 3 players and the game send you to the lobby?
read carefully, I wrote MIDGAME.
-
@Ihatelife said:
No, because you game crashed. So you didn't have nothing to do with DC.
Uhm, you disconnect from the match when your game Crashes midgame. So in theory it's a dc.
-
My go to perk on myers: ruin, pop, bbq, and that Plague perk blocking gens at the start of the match (don't know the name anymore)

Yeah me too, it's rare for me to be impressed with a killer (of "wow, he's good), I just keep getting the same players that put me on their mori/camp list for no reason. I was playing Kill your friends, and a mutual friend who is a killer main chose to be a spirit with beads. I just DC'd (I don't DC in public matches) as if I wanted to play against a spirit with beads, I'd play solo Q and earn blood points for it.
EDIT:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/675918#Comment_675918
I don't know, maybe it's because I'm on console but I can barely can tell difference between the quality of randoms I get at red and purple ranks. Both seem to like to roam the map in the search of ruin, whilst my aim was to be the runner whilst everyone else did gens, I feel like I'm the only one working through ruin. Amount times I'm making jokes to myself about match making, and at the end of the game I find out my team mates were actually red ranks, it blows my mind.
That friend is a moron xD imagine playing prayer beads in kyf. I never thought this would happen lol
-
I have a smurf aswell. I can deal with red ranks on both sides. I can dominate. But have no fun doing that. So I stay at purple ranks
-
@Mtom912 said:
Spirit alerts crows, moves grass, and you can hear her footsteps (similar to wraith)
prayer beads is definitely broken af
And if you play spirit a lot, it definitely gets a lot easier, things you can do to mindgame the spirit is fast vault something, then slow vault back, hug objects and run around them back and forth to mess with scratchmarks
Smart spirits will avoid crows and grass. Also, isn't spirit not moving grassing anyway since some updates ago? Or was it just a bug and got fixed? Can't remember tbh.
Footsteps are difficult to hear with chase music. And often when I hear them the spirit is already so close to me that it's impossible to do a move.
Not op, but It's unfun, unhealthy and boring.

Maybe we add individual killer volumes. Spirit and Nurse would have a different volume than Trapper for example.
