To be honest it seems the inclusion of auric cells is what made these challenges what they are.
The don't want to give the rift away free each time and would rather most players spend at least some real to get the next one which makes sense from a business standpoint.
My wish then is they drop the full auric cells carrot and stick idea and give say 50-70% instead and then make the challenges more obtainable for all and aling them more with playing the game instead of detracting from it.
I beleive the more people that can earn the rewards they pay for without having to farm in games or having the stars align would mean the worth of the pass is greater so they would be happy to pay a little bit each time for it.
I think you’re 100% right!!! If it was just differ colored skins of existing skins and some charms they would want everyone to be able to complete it. But facing the risk of giving premium away for free has made them want a very small % of the player base to complete it.

Or at the very least I'd love to see one of the devs do these challenges without working with others to do it.
This!!! Let’s see any devs level 4 tome as solo survivor and killer @Peanits I dare you to stream and prove how “achievable,” it is I’ll pay my $10 for the premium immediately and every time going forward

Those challenges are complete BS. First i am a solo and non flashlight user.
4 gens in one trial. Impossible.
3 sacrifices on the end game. Very hard. Especially for not good killers.
Trap all 4 survivors. You have to be very lucky and good trapper. (Farm time)
2 flash light saves. For me it's super hard. (I'm not using a flashlight)
Sacrifice all 4 survivors in the basement. Devs are you promote toxicity and DC'S?
Unhook 3 survivors SAFELY on the end game. Killer has to go for sleep i suppose. Impossible.
Damage the same gen 4 times. You have to lose the game pretty much for this one.
Τhey have to change those ''challenges''
I don’t even kind “damage the same gen 4 times,” I mean you’re right is does probably mean you’re sacrificing optimal play to do it but it is easily done if you’re willing to lose one game

From start to finish, 0% → 100%?
You don’t do it from 0-100 you just have to be on it when it finishes

Really? Guess thats why no ones using the offerings...
Yep, you get 3000 as a survivor for every special gen done so IF everyone uses a holiday offering and IF those 5 gens get done you get an extra 15k... whereas even a decent game as survivor with an escape cake you can get more than that.
Same for killer, but most killers aren’t bringing one because the hooks aren’t always close enough.
so assuming the killer doesn’t being one and even one teammate doesn’t, you’re looking at max 9k bonus so you’re better off using a green Altruistic offering to get 8k possible
-
To make it even worse, the stupid looking pumpkin gens give LESS blood points than an escape cake. With 2-3 you would be better using a green offering for points
-
As more players get past the initial ones you’ll see a return to normal play, until the second time is released.
But yes the way survivors play now makes it a lot easier to play killer
-
Okay no Spirit, in response you as survivor agree not to loop my M1 killer around killer shack or any other "near infinite," loop right?
-
Put me against a team of rank 20 survivors and it would still take multiple attempts AND be luck based to get some of these. I've watched my girlfriend playing she just started so her whole team is between 15-20 most games and at least one DCs every time for seemingly unknown reasons.

Just as I thought, The Rift is made to be unbeatable, It's a cash grab. It was obvious from the fact that you earn the $10 back for completing it that it was a huge gamble but this is nearly impossible to beat.
Which is why as soon as I heard about them, rumors even, I held off on my 10 bucks. If I had a legit shot and failed I would gladly put my 10 in to get 5 back for example. But this feels like a slap in the face so I’m out for the premium
-
The fact that so many challenges are out of your control is frustrating.
Survivors with same challenge can screw each other over just by doing their thing.
Teammate who guesses your challenge can screw your over to troll.
As killer, survivors can DC to screw you over.

oh no I can't do literally nothing and profit anymore!!!!
They could never do nothing and profit, unless you vaulted into them. After the first week I never bought the fake phase, just run and force them to do the phase and chase at least then you have a shot.
Stand still and profit is right up there with, “if you have ears you can play spirit.”
Ill tell you survivor mains this, if it’s literally THAT EASY, let’s see you play games at rank 1 and get those easy 4 kills.

@FogNoob said:
wow... some of these are so situational I wouldn't even call it a challenge. Like unhooking 3 (THREE!!!!) survivors AFTER the end game collapse has started is ridiculous. Might as well just find people to farm these.
You HAVE to have a full SWF to do these. Show me someone doing this as a solo survivor, or even 2 man SWF and I’ll eat my words. Like I said this is not hidden or subtle at all, this is their blocker to make sure they don’t let everyone “earn back their cells,” to keep repeatedly getting premium rift for free.
-
Sorry, it’s a mind game. You and other people can call it a guessing game if that makes you feel better about losing or DCing when you play her. I enjoy the challenge of mixing up running, walking, slow vault, etc to lose spirits if possible and even when I don’t I can see afterwards how I could have lasted ljnger.

Lol. The fact you equate this with mindgames makes me think you have no idea what they even really are further. Being good at looping isn't super hard. It's the way to stop the loops that takes skill or have the loop in your favor rather.
and very few killers can put these loops in their favor. Saying the spirit isn’t a kind game is the cheap way of saying “if I can’t just loop the killer is OP.”
-
You won’t find anyone to admit it, cough @Peanits cough, but these are clearly there to make sure people can’t finish and earn the “free premium,” by getting all their 1k cells back
-

They’re not even “challenges”. You can try and plan for them, but the most part a successful outcome will be dumb luck.
The only real upside is that these (cough) “challenges” will encourage load out experimentation. Agitation and Iron Grasp being pretty obvious for the basement challenge.
but I feel like Agitate, Iron grasp, and even mad grit was already a meme build

Fair enough, also survivors please stop using killer shack, the foundry building, haddonfield, and other broken loops in the game thank you

That isn’t a gameplay challenge, it’s a “bargaining with your teammates challenge.”
Theres a difference between difficult and just annoying

People in here complaining about the challenges.
Yea lets just all have braindead "Use this perk" "do this many gens" "escape as this person" challenges. That'll sure be fun and not at all the exact stuff you do day in, day out.
We don’t want brain dead, but we want challenges that aren’t influenced by your team... that can actually be prevented by your own team

Maybe it will lessen as some people move past the early ranks. But this is why I always enjoyed the fact that daily rituals are random and different for everyone

The event at the start of the year was also underwhelming with the bonus BP
Somewhat related, I won’t feel any need to “play more,” than usual to take advantage of the bonus BP

at first I wondered why I was the only one bringing pustals, now I see you may as well just bring your other offerings

It's sad but true. And with these new master challenges I can see even more DC's when people don't get their progress within 1 trial and ragequit. It's going to make getting killer/survivor challenges that need certain tasks completed fun. Especially the Killers 'Kill everyone' in 1 Trial if they plan on DC'ing to screw people over
Had someone DC today because I unhooked someone before him and he had the archive challenge to unhook 2 in one trial... then stayed to tell us that in chat
-
Please note I know it’s “something extra,” but it’s very underwhelming considering it’s not even part of getting the outfits

Bonus bloodpoints.
I don't really care for anything else that doesn't actually change the gameplay.
The challenges are nice for the grind also but that will depend on how much of a grind they are themselves.
Bonus question for anyone who choose BP, or anyone else really
What is during bonus BP events?
I myself don’t care to prestige, so I usually crank out points to stock up on good add-ons. I may level a second survivor to 50 for real, I have Meg with all perks and a lot of addons I just never saw any reason to level a second past 40.
-
I myself chose bonus vloodpojnts to get a few more killers max on perks and maybe do a second serious survivor

I can't wait to see the killer queue times when they start banning DCers. Its like half the games population at least. Some people DC just because they get downed early, but others DC because of tactics used by killer. Either way get ready to lose half the survivor population because if you think people will stop just because of punishment temp ban you are dead wrong. How in the world are you going to police first hook suicide? If the person tries to escape are the banned because they died early? Instead of trying to punish people fix what causes the behavior in the first place. A completely unbalanced game experience, or lose half your population. If as many people DC games as what we all see don't you think JUST MAYBE there is an underlying issue with the game itself that makes so many people want to DC? Could it be all the camping and tunneling that is "completely legit" for the crybaby killers? Maybe if they stopped nerfing every decent thing they've ever given to survivors and start thinking about all the crazy game breaking items they give to killers (kill after 1 hook, 1 shot hatchet to name just a couple) are how about nerfing BBQ and Chilli that every single killer uses? Nope only survivors ever get nerfed in this game because the killer community is all the devs care about. Name on survivor items or perk that is nearly as powerful as anything killers get. Survivors rely on teamwork which only really works well in SWF. Pug games the killer kills everyone 80-90% of the time and that also happens to be where almost all the disconnects happen... GEE think there might be a relationship?
Except people literally DC the first time you down them? How do they know the killer is camping or tunneling? Oh wait they don’t, they’re just a baby and that’s the excuse they wanna use.
-
@MisterCremaster said:
If rank mattered, maps were balanced, and the game was balanced to SWF, you'd have less DCing. DCing is a symptom, not the disease.
Justifying DCs is a problem too. You know what I do when I get paired against iridescent hunters, play it out and try to pip even if I don’t escape. You know what I do as killer when I get SWF on haddonfield, play it out and earn some BPs.

But what about people who have genuinely DCd through no fault of their own? I think I've DCd 3 or 4 times in total - but it was NEVER on purpose. Why should I get stuck with a bunch of DCers because my Internet F'd up a few times??
And what about killers who DC? Are they gonna get put with survivors who DC? In certain situations this could literally make matches impossible to play.
There should be a certain limit, like if you DC more than 5 times in a week or month then you get put with the others. DCing 1 or 2 times shouldn't be penalised as it could be genuine.
The ranges may need work, like 0-2 disconnects are all together. I have had a RARE DC myself, if I get put with other people who have 1 DC I’m fine with that, just keep me out of games with people who have already left 20 games this week.

"Because that'll teach those killers not to play what I don't want them to!" Literally said by some survivors
Sad part is it’s true, especially during slow queue times. I play spirit, no OP addons and not an annoying slowdown build. But as soon as I down the first survivor they DC, another teammate DCs and I have to decide if I wanna “sweat” a 2-1 game and make the other survivors suffer or do a lame semi farm to make use of the pudding I used
-
Here’s my question, if you’re going to quit against certain killers, addons, perks or maps why are you playing this game with so much RNG? Play a single player game with fixed objectives and enemies.

I believe in a fair and peaceful system which helps bring compromise to the community.
Out of all the time I've spent playing this game over the course of a couple of years. DC epidemic didn't start until End Game Collapse. Think of it this way. Players are going to DC or "End it all" on the hook. So that brings back to the question of "why are people leaving in the first place.
IMO I think people tollerated issues, but after ECG. That just broke the game right there and players state "They've had enough".
I find leavers happen around these reasons: (remember this is MY discovery).
I ) Playing as Survivor: The survivor is SPAWNED almost right next to the killer. Next thing I see is the "unplugged icon". Which means they left the match. How can THEY (the owners) prevent that from happening?)
-I'd assume address this issue of either offering immunity for the first few seconds of the game or simply NOT spawning the KILLER right next to the survivors!
II) Next thing I notice. Someone is the obsession when the match starts. Right away there they go. DISCONNECTED. I asked the guy afterwards why they left and they outright said "I really didn't want to be tunneled". Fair enough. I didn't rage at him.
-Maybe the staff can look into ways that this obsession notification can be resolved?
III) I've seen killers literally sit at the hook and camp. Then as the survivor is pulled away, the killer lunges right back at them and downs them again... DC. That person just DC'd. Great.
-Maybe the staff can investigate into a way that just doesn't rely on Borrowed time (which is RARELY ran anyway) To protect a survivor from that experience.
Why would the killer tunnel obsession, no perks really support that and some force you do ignore thrm
-
@SteveyTheExEevee said:
No. Because you can't force someone to play against something they don't like. The unreasonable things that make most people DC in the first place (overpowered killers, one hit down addons etc) need to be addressed and fixed first to drastically reduce DCs.
Even if you ignore all them and double down on DC punishments (Which you cant even accurately calculate every secnario anyway) people will just find aw ay around it, they'll refuse to play, Suicide on hook and ruin the game anyway and no, you cant punish suiciding on first hook because you cant judge if people are struggling on hook to get the 3% or not, nor is that a reasonable solution to punish people for.
If you want peopel to stop DCing, stop doing things that make people DC in the first place. You cant do anything about "first down" DCers.
Doing things that make people DC on first down? Like downing them? I have seen a survivor, hit him once then chased to a pallet and downed him. If he DCs what did I do to cause him to DC?
your defense makes me feel like you’re one of the constant DCers who justifies it by saying, “this map is unfair,” “this killer is OP,” and so on

It was mostly a joke tbh. I tried it when I first started, but eventually... having something cover your screen is only gonna be detrimental. Best way to get better at landing shots is just practicing. Eventually, you'll know where a hatchet is gonna land. Sorry that this isnt really the answer you wanted to hear, but theres really no shortcut to aiming. I also recommend you stay away from the windup addons while you're learning her. Theyre REALLY helpful, but getting too use to them ultimately just becomes a crutch when you dont have any left.
I feel that way about all killers, made the mistake of learning Billy with insta saw and I really had to adjust to not using it

There's a difference though in your example.
UberEats is a service you paid for to get the food. And food should be served hot and warm (unless it's ice cream or something). You are not only entitled to a refund or some other token, you deserve it, because you paid for something and didn't get what you paid for.
In the case of the event, it isn't something you we paid for. We paid for the game to play it. And other DLC we bought. We are 100% entitled to get those in their full capacity as promised. The Ash refund people are talking about, I actually agree with that, because a lot of people only bought Ash for MOM, and they nerfed it to the ground. That is unfair. The MoM fiasco was handled really poorly by BHVR, I bet a lot of players who got burned their didn't feel like dishing out for Ghost Face or Stranger Things.
But the Halloween Event is a nice bonus, something the devs are doing to support the game they put their hearts behind. Nobody paid for it, and the Devs never had to give it, they just did because they thought doing so would increase the value of their game.
Nobody is entitled to anything for the Halloween Event. So if it is delayed -- and not even ruined or destroyed. Just delayed -- I don't think it's reasonable to expect BHVR to give handouts to assuage people's butthurt feelings.
That's just feeding bad entitlement.
So you feel you’re getting to play the game at 100%??? Let’s leave this event/rift whatever out of it. The game itself is BADLY BUGGED. Games where I can’t heal someone, wake a sleeping survivor, a streamer had a survivor glitch being carried and got stuck unable to do anything at all, and the list goes on.
What actually may be more upsetting than the rift delay, is the fact that they didn’t delay the rift a long time ago to fix major bugs that affect basic parts of the game that we have paid for.

They could hire more people or get outside support fixing their coding that causes delays, healing bugs, random DCs, resetting progress, disappearing cosmetics... should I go on

Different ppl can do wonders with different killers though. One of my favorite streamers to watch is a Piggy main, and the moves he pulls off with her is nuts. If your friend clicked better with GF than Myers, I'm not about to get pissy about it and say he's wrong.
