I stop playing killer because all it does is Piss me off

I play survivor a bit or a different game

  • This guy doesn’t count that as a death, meaning he can tell his friends he’s on a 40 game escape streak

  • no offense but literally in bright yellow at the top of the forums...

  • i second that, think back to when you started. I used to think camping on Wrath was sooo OP, or at least a solid strategy.

I wouldn’t work gens or unhook people if I could even beer a glimmer of heartbeat

  • To clarify, Lithe doesn't require specific spots o the map you just see a window mid chase and hit it to gain extra distance on the killer. Just that has been enough in the past to make the killer think the chase isn't worth it and go after someone else.

  • Balanced Landing is great, but if you don't have a lot of extra to spend Lithe is close enough and good in a different way.

  • Nurse will still at the top, maybe second? I have seen good players, even streamers with plenty of hours playing her at rank 1 and still getting 4k so to say she is weak I'd have to hear your reasoning other than just "feeling it."

Anyone who thinks 5 blink or Omega range isn't overpowered is leaning on those as a crutch, good Nurse players are gonna be just fine.

The only reason you say this:

    - You never played Nurse (or in general killer)

    - You never played Nurse against the top survivors

Wanna clarify then? How are they making her unrewarding and unfun?

  • @coppersly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/777427#Comment_777427

Yup I'm getting in the last of my Nurse games and days in DbD before they make her unfun and unrewarding to play and I can finally stop playing this game and move on.

How are they making her unrewarding? Seriously the two blink version of Nurse is almost the same, the extra 3 seconds to wait for the second recharge isn’t going to make her unviable.

If you only have fun when you playing 4-5 blinks or Omega nurse then yeah I guess get it out of your system. But that wasn’t exactly rewarding skillful play in the fiery place.

They are not misusing it they are taunting you

I understand attempts to taunt by waiting, teabagging at pallets, etc those all just waste time.

In regards to not being able to make up the distance, again I know the purpose of exhaustion perks but when you stand still so you can use it you give up more distance than if you had just held W.

same kind of people who run from pallet to pallet, waiting so they can drop it when you get there without actually stunning you. It’s just not the most optimal way to use them.

The free option might as well not provide anything. Have you seen how little you actually get?

As for companies wanting to make money. None of us here are stupid, you know. There's just that most believe that a company can make money AND being customer-centric at the same time. Behavior's going straight for the jugular, metaphorically.

Yes, I’ve seen how much you get and it’s something. You literally get something for nothing, a few silly charms I think and some currency to buy the Halloween outfits. You can earn 6 tokens, which is up to 2 full outfits. Evening you get half, that’s 3 tokens so 1 full outfit. Or if you’re like me and don’t want the outfits it’s 3 killer weapons which is my plan since I can actually see those.

  • I camped, don’t hate me!!! The logic is sound after all, duh they have to come get him then I’ll get them all.

I also got tunnel vision like LordGlint, I would waste 4 gens chasing one person and then get so frustrated but I think that at least helped me a little now.

  • @ColonGlock said:

I am grateful for the opportunity to earn extra bp on the free track and to have "missions" to complete, as daily challenges are a motivator for me.

I will likely not buy into the Rift unless I have already completed the associated challenges.

This is probably the way to go if you doubt in your ability to complete them in time.

This, the free option is a good bonus. If you don’t wanna spend money all you miss out on is cosmetics, which if you don’t wanna spend money you really won’t get anyways. People will just always find a way to complain and be offended when companies try to GASP make money

  • @Mochan said:

It makes zero sense to use this stupid perk now.

Using it means getting a free hit once. But to activate it you need to take three hits. How does that make sense in any way, shape or form.

And you even have a penalty after its activated!

The perk is so worthless it's only worth running for the most extreme meme builds... and I say this as someone who regularly runs No Mither.

The ONLY use, I mean realistically even moderately useful, is to get it built up prior to Endgame so it can help you get yourself out or save someone. But DS or BT seem better for that and overall.

  • @JiggleWiggle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/775686#Comment_775686

I actually thought that would be happening. Everyone just crowding the hook and taking hits but sadly it didnt.

Has anyone any info on how the perks gonna be reworked? It should be possible to activate it more then once with the upcoming update but how?

Seriously when I saw that change I was like, who managed to take enough hits to figure out MoM can’t activate twice? Had to be a farming meme game.

  • Depipping so they can start bullying some weaker killers during the Halloween event...

  • Yes and no. It’s a great idea to try to get people to use some non-meta perks. But the people who have maxed out characters will just get to keep using their meta while the casual people who need BP will use weaker perks to get bonus BP and as a result get dominated even more

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/775687#Comment_775687

I dunno about that. Alot of the challenges are just things that you'd likely be doing anyway. I would sure HATE someone to "farm" generators to finish their "repair X amount of generators" challenge.

And here’s the trick, which seems to be working on you no offense.

90% or whatever of the challenges are likely things you’ll accomplish just by playing.

5% are specific perks/killers like use NOED or trap all the players once.

5% are hard, and almost insanely hard to the point they will prevent almost anyone from completing them. The basement hook is an example of this, mama going 4 kills is doable for sure, making sure all 4 are in the basement is tough, doing it when survivors know you get a reward for doing so will be near impossible without one of them screwing you by a DC

I think it really depends on how efficient you are as a killer. Higher movement speed killers get a really good advantage using the combo, I’d say Bc survivors are more likely to take the time to heal since they’re at greater risk. Slower killers benefit a lot more from once shot perks or a combo of both. It really depends on killer and how good you are at hunting I’d say. Other people might have different input. So if you’re slapping a lot of survivors repeatedly that’s less time they’re on gens Bc they keep stopping to heal over and over again. So it’s a huge time saver if you’re efficient at hunting. It slows the game down a decent bit.

I guess this is the best summary, it’s really good on certain killers and just okay on others, although requires a different play style which may or may not be right for each player.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/775612#Comment_775612

You forget that they also buffed Plague by increasing the corrupt puke timer and increasing the time gens and totems stay infected. Even then her nerf, that her movement speed was reduced with a fully charged puke, that didn't really affect her as most survivors stay sick.

If you're going to mention a change, at least take the rest of the changes in consideration. Otherwise you're just being dishonest.

Overall it was a nerf, being able to move full speed holding corrupt was amazing so compared to what they buffed it’s an overall nerf.

regardless of whether it was a buff or nerf, it was stated they never change anything based on PTB and I said they do.

  • @HeroLives said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/775608#Comment_775608

Except for it’s not Bc at that point all the survivors are off gens healing which is a huge time waster if people keep getting hit and healing. It’s a good meta, that’s why killers use it.

I get why people use it, but maybe they’re overestimating the math or am I really underestimating it? If I hit all four survivors and they each heal another it eats up a total of 60 seconds, of I’m running sloppy and thanat then it takes up a total of approximately 80 seconds is that worth two perk slots?

If I run Haunted ground instead and I get just one insta-down with it that saves me 20 seconds give or take. Then the other slot run pop which gains you about 25 seconds.

Again Im not saying I’m right, but im not sure the slow healing build is stronger, maybe weaker, maybe about equal depending on what killer and how you prefer to play?

  • @Danielgdp3 said:

When I wanted to use Mettle Of Man lately I used to run Were gonna live forever, MoM, Inner Strength and QnQ. Add a Medkit with the purple insta heal and all you have to do is take a hit when killer is carrying someone then insta heal, take another hit then go hop in locker. Now your one hit away from it working and are at full health

All of you have to use is an instaheal, so you can ignore a hit later, wouldn’t it be better to just save the instaheal? I mean I see how you get 2 stacks of WGLF but that’s about it.

  • @LordGlint said:

Easiest way to get MoM to proc would be to build a time machine and travel back before the nerf. Getting that perk to work NOW is pretty unlikely, lol.

I had someone use it against me, I actually guessed the way he was playing that he HAD to be trying MoM because he was playing so weirdly/badly.

Well he got it activated, used it running for the gate and I got him again... then I let him go because I admired him for running it post nerf. Maybe this could be an archive thing?

  • @PeenutsButt3r said:

They never change anything from PTB...

Well, they did nerf Plague, but you’re right they very rarely actually use it as a test it’s more like a teaser to create hype

  • @HeroLives said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/97437/the-sloppy-thanat-etc-slow-meta

It used to be so common and meta survivors stopped healing and had to gen rush Bc healing took for fn ever. There’s a pretty big difference in heal time especially if you’re using self care. A med kit with fast addons makes it almost normal speed it feels like.

Yeah, I guess in regards to self care it could be a real time waster. But against a medley, or multiple survivors healing another, or someone with Well make it, the difference is negligible.

  • The problem is, this applies to the 4 basement hooks but could apply to others as well once we see them all, is that other players can screw you by DC-ing. Have 3 on hook in basement and chasing the other around shack, knock him down and... DC well good game try again.

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/774947#Comment_774947

Well, you shouldn't be rewarded for farming the survivors and purposely allowing them to escape the hook multiple times so you can chase them down multiple times. You should be rewarded for winning.

The game itself tells you that hooking survivors is your primary objective. So the game should reward you for hooking and sacrificing survivors, above all else.

If you have win-traders at the red ranks, then ban them. The game is already able to track everything you do throughout a match; it shouldn't be that hard for the devs to spot the boosters in the red ranks. The whole playerbase shouldn't suffer because of a handful of easily-banned boosters.

Actually the game says the entity enjoys survivors being hooked, it stands to reason he’s happier when each survivor gets the pain of three hooks.

  • @PGJSF said:

Imo Corrupt Intervention is useless. You can just hide and wait for it to end and play against a killer with three perks.

Only if all of you hide, so really only if it’s SWF. If you’re solo and hide while 3 others try to do gens you give the killer 2 minutes of 3 vs 1.

Even if you do coordinate, some killers can benefit from 2 bonus minutes at the start. Hag, Trapper, Freddy, Demo

  • What he said, you get the paid AND free items if you pay.

To play Devil's Advocate, survivors would abuse this information and dodge lobbies because they don't like the build their teammates are running.

"Why aren't you guys running DS/BT/Adrenaline???" *Leaves lobby*

"Ew, a Self Care/Urban Evasion/No Mither user? N00b!" *Leaves lobby*

It's a great idea on paper, especially because I'm a solo survivor myself, but I can assure you more than a few people would behave this way.

honestly this didn’t even occur to me, but you’re right sadly this would happen a lot... no more plunder, pharmacy, ace builds lol

Dedicated servers are out now. They have even been delayed.

    • Why was the stricter control not implemented yet?
    • When is it coming?
    • Why are dedicated servers required for it, why couldn't you do that before dedicated servers?

People will whine they got banned for a DC on the p2p servers, supposedly BHVR wants to wait for dedicated so they can be sure it’s a player DC not gettting dropped. We all know that’s bull but they’re afraid to alienate whiny babies

  • I wonder, all these people on the forums defending DC are probably the teammates I get with names like “Spirit = DC,” or “down me and I DC.”

  • @Gcarrara said:

There are already punishment in places for people that have a high rate of DCs.

With that being said, Dedicated Servers will allow a stricter control on DCs allowing more ways to deal with them.

We’ve seen people, even streamers, DC often enough to realize the “threshold,” for punishing DC is way too lenient. Like 50% so if you DC 4/10 games it’s ok

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/768267#Comment_768267

If something like that happens, be sure to grab a screenshot, take note of roughly when the match happened and send us your ID. We're looking for those edge cases and trying to figure out why they're happening.

They aren’t “Edge cases,” and I’m sure you aren’t worried but it was on full display a couple days ago when a streamer showed four rank 6 all against a rank 20 killer with one perk.

Should one of us share that info with you or the literally couple thousand players that saw it and said it was terrible for the game,

  • @oxygen said:

If people actually use the information solo players informing eachother they have perks like BT, DS, Deliverance, Unbreakable and Adrenaline would alone hav ethe potential to massively increase efficiency in situations related to said perks.

The few times I've tried it it quickly becomes clear people either didn't care or forgot though.

In terms of telling or remembering, what if they added a mini overlay showing your teammates perks as well during the match? Too messy, too strong?

  • @premiumRICE said:

I usually call I have BT but nobody cares

BT and DS are big ones to know, I always try super safe saves but sometimes you just have to go for it then the person gets tunneled and you’re like, “please have DS... nope feels bad.”

  • @Peanits said:

I don't see how you could. There's basically two ways she could be played.

    1) You don't cleanse. You're choosing to be permanently one hit away from death. She's still a 4.6m/s killer, has all the normal counterplay.

    2) You do cleanse, she has corrupt purge for a limited time. You can wait it out, you can stun her, you can dodge it. It's like a Huntress.

Either way, there's stuff you can do to avoid it and there's no guessing. If you get hit, it's because you were in a bad place and she outplayed you.

Implying that Spirit is "guessing," so the nerf rumors are true?

  • @CrowFoxy said:

PGTW is just better than Ruin in every way.

Ruin- removes 4 seconds of a gen, and pauses it for 3 seconds.

PGTW- instantly removes 20 seconds off a gen and rewards you for hooking survivors.

Combine this perk with discordance, really.

Except you have to hook someone and go to a gen, Ruin is passive and affects all the players (until cleansed 30 seconds in.)

what is easier may not be what is better for the game, what would be BETTER for the game is to buff the WEAK KILLERS (trapper for example is one)

This!!! I wanna play ALL killers with a variety of perks but if you do you get steamrolled above rank 8-ish

  • @PalletOrWhat said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/96635/we-can-talk-about-spirit-after

What is easier. Buffing like 10 killers or nerfing 1 killer?

fixing the maps and near infinite loops would fix all killers, so that’s the best place to start

  • @Eggscellent said:

I don't think there should be "DC tokens" because bad internet is a real issue I have been disconnected from matches I was winning and the killer didn't DC I just lagged out. Why not just create a salt mine where people get stuck with bad players for bad actions I don't think a ban is necessary.

This is for treated DCs... if it’s a bad connection that is causing you to DC 3+ times a day you shouldn’t be playing an online game anyways

  • @Zertix said:

Queue times for me skyrocketed from being instant to 3-5 min recently (survivor PC). I am rank 5 at the moment and my teammates are usually green ranks.

In many occasions, I join lobbies with 4 survivors and no killer, and we keep waiting for a killer to join. If killer queue times were not insanely long as well, I would have assumed that there is lack of killers.

So yeah, matchmaking is not in a good spot.

i could understood a wide range of ranks for quick queues or a longer wait to make sure everyone is close... they’ve somehow managed to do NEITHER

Good point. What about something that hides a killer's power at the start of the match? Like for example on Plague or Pig, fountains and jigsaw boxes would be invisible until someone gets sick or trapped. On Freddy, the timers and dressers would be invisible until the first person falls asleep. Trapper's closed traps would be invisible to survivors, etc. Obviously it would only appear in the bloodweb of killers it affects, but it would be a good buff to killers like Plague, Pig, Trapper and Freddy who are disadvantaged because survivors know who they are before they even see them. Particularly for those like Pig who rely on the element of surprise.

It would be interesting, not strong which is fine that way no survivors could really whine about it. I’d rather have that then the ones that change mist.

  • @Snapshot said:

Thana prolongs the gens not even for 10 seconds. Is it really that much? I think not. Freddy is a basic M1 killer with some extras. If you can't loop him, you have to learn it. It's 100x easier than going against Clown, even.... Entirely survivor's fault.

first, I hope you mean clown is better st looping than Freddy and not better in general???

second, it’s not just Thana making gens take a bit longer, it’s making heals take a bit longer stacked with butcher in most cases. And that’s on top of the chains/ropes for slowdown, all of those add up to be an incredibly strong slowdown, which is only fair considering how many perks and addon slots your using for it.

You're basically telling me to keep running a gen rush build to make these matches somewhat bearable when there is no way for me to know if it's a Freddy with this build before. We don't need more of that.

I think they’re saying that you need to focus more on hiding from and/or looping the killer rather than just all 4 survivors run to a gen and have 2-3 done by the time the first chase is over even when the chase isn’t long. If it takes a killer 10 second to find a survivor, 10 seconds to get the first hit and then 20 seconds to get the down that means 1.5 gens worth of progress done already. That means the game is basically a third done after ONE CHASE, sorry that’s not fun and if that means I have to run a slow down build on every killer so be it.

  • @Boss said:

Last time i heard them talk about why they use "-ly" terms instead of numbers is to not scare off newer players with tons of information.

Not a direct quote btw, but that's pretty much why.

I feel like NOT having numbers makes it harder on new players who want the information but have to go to external sites for numbers.

The other reason I heard is because they wanted it to be different than other games... different for the sake of being different isn’t always good.

I never said "don't create new killers". I'm saying that the free pass challenges should exclude dlc that you pay for with real money. The ones with iridescent shards are ok cause they're accessible to anyone. I just don't think it's very fair to make the Rift's free challemges impossible for people who can't afford dlc

This is a good point, people on the free path shouldn’t be forced to buy extra characters. And this is coming from someone who owns all the content but I’m thinking of others
