This! The first survivor to die changes things so much, 3-1 is a much easier game than 4-1 which is why some people still gunnel.

I just find it weird that so much information is hidden by words like "tremendously", which varies in value from 1 thing to the next, while perks like spinechill tell you exact value. Why cant you just tell me that Swing chains slows survivors by 3% per survivor asleep? Adding "tremendously" is completely pointless when 12% slowdown on swingchains is considered "tremendously" while 12% charge boost on spark plug is considered "Slightly".
Kind of off topic, is it 3% to start and then an additional 3% for each sleeping survivor so max 15? Or does it not kick in until at least one is sleeping? Because the wording implies even with all awake there is a slight penalty.

Wow, tin foil hat time for sure

@Fibijean unfortunately, the 70-80 hours stated by BHVR has proven to be inaccurate. The absolute minimum is ~120 hours of game play, which does not include the amount of time that you have to wait in order to get into a match. If you figure that time in, we’re talking ~160 hours on average. Being off by a factor of 2 is extremely negligent, and deceptive. BHVR knowingly made these false statements to deceive players in attempt to grab their money.
No one should buy the “Rift Pass” unless:
- You have completed the Rift prior to the Rift ending, and thus will receive everything on the Rift, including your 1,000 Auric Cells back, or
- It is the last day of the Rift and you are happy with the items that you will receive for spending 1,000 Auric Cells.
The cosmetics have 0 (zero) actual value. It is up to you to determine if the items in the store are worth the virtual values that BHVR has placed on them.
Who proved that 120 hours is the absolute minimum? A streamer, multiple streamers?
PS I agree 100% no reason to pay until you’re sure what you’ve earned is worth paying the 10 bucks

You can't play this game and not learn to plan ahead. Use that now. They will take as much money as we will give them. If this is accepted, other things will come. It has happened time and time again in other games. A mutually beneficial business arrangement is possible with manipulating your customers You do not want this game going down the road of CoD and sports games.
Counterpoint, World of Warcraft sells mounts, pets and transmog outfits on their store and have for years. When they started people claimed it was only a matter of time before they started selling gear too, spoiler alert they are NOT. If you wanna take your stand now, that is your right but I’ll wait until I have something to take a stand against that concerns me.

This is how it starts. It always starts with cosmetics. That's what happened with CoD. Now they putting weapons, a competitive advantage, in loot boxes.
The people here are maddening. This exact same timeline has played out numerous times in video games and people still keep defending it.
I’m not defending it, I’m defending what it is right now. I reserve the right to change my mind later if they start putting cheats, perks, addons, or something similar in the future. I will not grab pitchforks and torches about what MAY happen.

I'm getting more and more disenfranchised with DbD's cash grabs. The Ash DLC had an obvious issue with MoM that everyone identified, but BHVR played dumb and made sure to get all the cash they could before leveling the inevitable nerf we all knew would come.
Now Battlepass with all the bells and whistles that will appeal to the casual crowd, but only benefit the top 5% of players fully. If you're casual and pay for it, that's your own choice, but I'll pass. I'll likely be passing on DbD a lot going forward as it is becoming more and more dumbed down.
That’s weird you say EVERYONE identified the problem, we had survivors up until the end claiming MoM was fine, not overpowered at all. Did they not identify it? Or are they just saying that because they want an OP perk?

On the same note, who are you to say that everyone else has to abide by that time crunch just because you want it. Do you see the problem here?
Your entire argument hinges on you telling someone that they can't have what they want because you want what you want.
No, I’m saying that if I can’t do something to get things I want I’ll accept it. As long as it’s not an actual competitive advantage I don’t care

Because I wtry and consider the fun of both killers and survivors. And I can totally understand that it's no fun having a 40% action speed debuff.
Also, if a killer is able to slow down the game too much, at some point they don't have to even try because survivors will take so long to repair gens that a killer can pretty much just force every pallet drop and destroy all pallets, and then have easy downs on survivor.
Repair speed should only be able to be slowed down by so much.
What is fun for both sides? If I don’t ruin any slowdown perks, don’t run NOED (because crutch perk right?), does your team agree to take a break from doing gens while I chase someone for 2 minutes on the near infinite loops?
-
@ad19970 said:
There needs to be a cap for survivors action speed debuff. I honestly think killers shouldn't be able to slow down action speed of survivor by more than 25%. That is when perks are stacking. If one perk alone has a greater value, like Coulrophobia, than that cap shouldn't be applied of course.
Personally haven't played against a Freddy that used thana, dying light and his two addons that slow down action speed, but I can see how that could be very boring. Especially when he also uses Hex: Ruin and another slowdown perk. The matches I had against Freddy were always enjoyable up until now though, I personally enjoy going against Freddy.
I just hope the devs realise that we need some action speed debuff cap before most of the maps are reworked, because then this will turn into a really big problem.
Why, why does their need to be a cap? A killer is giving up multiple perk slots and addons to achieve the slowdown at the expense of not having extra chase or location perks.

Only that way because people allow it. All scarcity in video games is artificial.
some people want something to work towards, want a time crunch to motivate them, who are you to say they’re wrong?
-
survivors day “gen rushing,” is okay and I agree with them because that is their objective!
on that note, killers preventing gens from getting done is their objective so why isn’t that okay? By any means necessary

Not the money. Get over the money. It's the unfairness of the time and difficulty of the challenges. You are hung up on the money. Even on the free track the grind/difficulty is unchanged.
I’m not stuck on the money, but you are stuck on insisting people who don’t put enough time into the game don’t get everything... uhm that’s the real world.
Yea I get it, it stinks that having a job, kids, social life means you may not be able to complete it all but that’s just the way it goes sometimes.

The point is - even the free track is unlikely to be complete-able without paying to finish tiers.
on the FREE TRACK even if you don’t complete it you still get, FOR FREE, some cosmetics and bonus blood points, FOR FREE if I forgot to mention that.

The money isn't the problem. The price is fair. It's the grind and difficulty that isn't fair. Stop ignoring the actual discussion.
It’s for OPTIONAL cosmetics, that you can buy later. Honestly if you pick and choose what you want you’ll pay less than the people who grind it out. Stop ignoring that discussion.
-
Then don’t pay for it, and get what you get from the free track for playing anyways
-
People run OoO because they think they’re great loopers, some are but some are not. Then if you catch them they DC half the time first down. If I ever used OoO it would be to get practice looping because I would except to be tunneled relentlessly
-
I think I would give up two perks slots to have the game be 3-1 that’s an incredible advantage for the killer.
-
How didn’t it work? Like you never got the speed boost at all or the killer managed to hit you?

Personally, I only DC because of two reasons:
If someone is cheating. Had a Lagswitching Killer a few weeks ago, I DCed after he downed me, same did my SWF Friend. It was normal afterwards, so he was doing it intentionally. No reason to play a game if the other side is cheating. One time I also played Burger King Myers and got someone with a Speedhack (like if you need this vs Burger King Myers), was also about to DC, but since the Match was almost over anyway, I stayed.
Second thing is Real Life stuff. If you need to go, you need to go. Of course you should know this before joining a game, but something might come up unexpected (e.g. got a quite important phone call after loading into a match as Killer. Had to DC.).
I guess it is ok to DC when the other side is cheating or when Real Life kicks in. It is not ok to DC because you are the first one downed by the Killer or if the Survivors are doing more Gens than you are think they are supposed to do.
Why not just AFK if you get a phone call? At least let the survivors get chase and objective points
-
Basically this trades OoO for spine chill in terms of what countess stealth killers?

They don’t want people to get the outfits for free, this way more will need to buy them

I'm happy about the quicker heals as survivor and glad that insta heal are gone when I'm killer LOL

Ghost Face has a power gauge, but his power doesn't counter looping. He can do some mind games with it, but it's very far away from countering loops.
GF has to have a recovery though, otherwise he would basically be a permanent no terror radius killer. Even without anti looping having no terror would be OP

I agree, archives will give you a “reason,” to play when you don’t feel like doing it just for ranks or BPs.

I disagree. Spirit is pretty easy once you understand how her power works, which won't take long. Spirit rewards you for being unpredictable and that's just not fun too fight IMO. I like base Spirit, but the addons make her so strong it becomes just luck if you survive or not.
Prayer beads are stupidly strong I agree, but I feel all killers have something similar like iri hatchets or clown’s pinky finger... also survivors have insta heals and keys so addons are a different topic entirely
-
@BunnyTheHutt said:

No, if a strong Spirit is incredibly hard, if not impossible too counter, then there is a problem. The game should be fair for both sides, not completely one sided like Spirit is right now.
How fair is the game for Leatherface, Clown, etc I assume this means those killers should be buffed and it’s a priority just like nerfing spirit?
-
@BunnyTheHutt said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/738521#Comment_738521
Not with good Spirits. good Spirits will mix up their mindgames, and make it impossible too predict their movements.
So good spirits can fool you and bad ones are easy to counter, seems like a good power level
-
@Cyro said:
People don't like the Spirit because her power once boiled down is just a coin flip guessing game. I've seen the arguments on here and most people will tell you that running to a window will just ruin the Spirit but most of them give you the wrong advice to counter her.
You don't really learn to counter the Spirit's power, more so you learn to take 'better guesses' against her to avoid getting hit, however if you do get hit you're pretty much going down unless you guess correctly at a pallet you might be at.
I don't mind her, but they do need to tweak Prayer Beads, it practically removes all counterplay to her.
I keep reading that she has no counterplay, which really means “I can’t run a circle and loop her for 30 second and then drop a pallet and run to the next one.”

Myers power bar is very laggy.
I thought it was just me, but yeah I wasn't able to 99% his meter at all it kept going to Tier 3 and I am almost always nailing that 99%. I even started stopping earlier than usually after a couple times and it was still going all the way to Tier 3.
-
This morning I had two situations in one game were the Grab animation started, next thing I know the Dwight is up and running away from me.
-
You’re both not wrong, I don’t think they can set it though so you can “hurry up,” or “be patient,” that would split the queues even more... honestly I just accept what it is now kind of like I do with bugs anymore
-
It doesn’t matter how many they are, it’s how absolutely safe some of them are creating long loops that require breaking them. The short ones that let you and the survivor mind game each other and land a hit are one of the most fun parts of the game to me

I'm rank 12 survivor right now and I got paired with a rank 5, who pipped into rank 4 after the game. The ranking system still is unfair for all.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/730320#Comment_730320
Neither one should happen, it's why the ranking system needs a complete overhaul, not some minor tweaks too try and fix it.
Okay so when a SWF with a rank 1, 2, 5 and 13 play what should the killer be?
or when someone who is 1 plays with their rank 15 friend and they get paired with two random rank 2 what should the killer be?
-
@BunnyTheHutt said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/729963#Comment_729963
That doesn't make it any less stupid though. Why should a rank 15 survivor fight a purple ranked killer? They are clearly going too get destroyed.
Why should a rank 15 killer get paired against a rank 15 survivor and his three rank 2 friends? Because that’s what used to happen quite often. Streamers would use subs that were low rank, or start a new account so they could look good to viewers.

The OP did not say what the Killers rank was. Just that he was rank 10 and the other Survivors were 13, 5 and 6.
He said he got a rank 13 and three purple rank survivors, that’s four total... he is clearly the killer at rank 10. Reading comprehension is your friend.

Good luck with that. We're tolding them for about 3 years...
Here’s what happens, people say stop releasing content and outfits until the bugs are fixed... and the defenders hop into the argument with, “but it’s a different team that does each thing.”
Maybe the bug team should be the largest team at this point?
-
@Peanits said:
Should be fairly soon. We tend to do hotfixes for two or three weeks after an update these days (as necessary). Afterwards it ends up being more worthwhile to wait for the mid-chapter.
Are these priorities? I mean not being able to heal another survivor is pretty significant don’t you think?

Between farming and loosing a kill vs 4k no farming you get way more by the farming and filling every categorie to the max.
Again, it depends on where the game is at for efficiency. A quick-ish 4 kill is gonna net you better blood points per time than a long drawn out farm

As far as I know random dcing has been a problem for a while. I'm hoping that once dedicated servers comes then that problem will be resolved.
Hitboxes I blame on general P2P latency or whatever it's called. And the EGC thingy is just a visual bug which I think works the same but the timer bar derps out, if it is that then just be aware of it being a thing and leave before the 3 minutes.
Just be aware? The timer is slowed by people being down or hooked so you can potentially have a like 4-5 minutes I think, we shouldn’t have to calculate during EGC
-
@Marcus said:
About what game breaking bugs you are talking about ?
Not being able to heal people maybe 10% of the time is a pretty big deal
-
@aazimuth said:
They should just average out the ranks and create a happy medium. Again, this is literally only encouraging deranking.
Average rank still isn’t a great solution. A team with a ranks 1, 1, 20 and 20 for example would get a rank 10 or 11 killer that would have very little chance catching half of the survivors because loopers by rank 1 can give the killer massive chases. This means if he found either of these rank 1 first most likely multiple gens would be done by first hook.
i don’t know what a good solution is honestly, going by highest rank, lowest, or even averages don’t seem to work. Maybe some sort of move speed slowdown or bonus for every rank difference between players?
-
I wouldn't spend the points on her until they explain the changes.
-
Flipside, I know new killers that used to get matched up against three 20s and a rank 1, and got looped forever by the rank 1. They should have went after an easier target but they're new so they don't know any better. See how it can't ever seem to be fair for both sides?
