Had this a while ago. But to be fair, it was a rare situation.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/777/9FYWNPZNYTN3.jpg

However it's better than finding no matches or having long waiting times.

Had almost the exact same game yesterday, ranks 2 2 3 5 against a rank 15 Bubba... poor guy got one hook the entire game I felt so bad and just tried encouraging him post game.

Unfortunately, i usually end up running DS & Unbreakable. As long as I'm using them I almost never get tunneled/slugged, but every time I take them off to try a different build I wish I had them.

Spine Chill is great against stealth killers, and Ghostface is pretty popular right now.

Of the exhaustion perks, I prefer Dead Hard if I have it on the character. Sprint Burst is my last choice, because I hate being forced to walk everywhere.

I have had some success with Lithe, Dance with Me, and Quick & Quiet. It's a very different playstyle from looping, though. It can be quite satisfying to vault a window and vanish behind a rock before the killer even sees you. However, if you get caught out you're vulnerable to being either slugged or tunneled.

When I can fit it in, I love We'll Make It.

Why do people insist on walking everywhere with Sprint burst? That makes your game so inefficient. Give yourself a few games using it but running everywhere as you normally do, you’ll be surprised how often it’s actually ready again by the time you need it.

Get to a gen, work on it a bit and when the killer comes it’ll be ready.

Are they at least giving double blood points?

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Simpler idea: While injured you repair gens 5% more slowly because your hands are slick with your own blood. Numbers are flexible this would just help stop genrushing.

Built in slowdown for being injured and for each hook you’ve taken would make sense. The more hurt you are the harder to concentrate, plus you were hooked through a shoulder that would affect you

Sloppy butcher is nasty. I enjoy playing as Wraith running Sloppy butcher and nurse's calling, but everytime a killer is running sloppy I find it so annoying: One of the reasons why I always run We'll make it and one of the reasons why I will start running self care + botany in some matches just in case.

I'm starting to think Inner Strength is gonna be part of my build for a bit.

  • @MegMain98 said:

They are fun to play as because it’s always a joy to scare survivors and get gen grabs. You also don’t have to worry about them running away as soon as they hear the heartbeat.

Not so much fun to play against though. I probably dislike Ghostface the most out of any killer.

I like playing against Ghostface with his stealth but hate how buggy his reveal is. Staring at him and still getting exposed is frustrating AF

  • @Boss said:

    Wait, Wraith's having a surge?

With his currently bugged, weak asf super-lunge?

Even with that bug a lot of people are playing him because Tru and Otz had their back and forth especially. Once he gets that post uncloak lunge back it'll be gross

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

    I agree

I understand why they need the terror radious but it massivly takes down the scare factor of this game

I feel that every killer should be able to gain undetecteble or give oblivious in either their base or in one of their addons

No terror radious makes everything that much scarier

I agree, Monitor Abuse is a good start getting some killers down to 16m is pretty fun if you use walls to block LOS.

    @PistolTimb said:

I hate stealth killers unless I have spine chill. Stealth killers are universally fun but they're mega frustrating at the same time .

Admittedly Spine Chill is part of my build a lot anymore just because I hate spinning my camera while doing gens, healing, etc

As killer: if I had a number of fun chases, not overly immersed survivors and at least 7-8 hooks, I don't really care how many escape.

As survivor, as long as I've had at least 3 chases, decent amount of pressure from the killer throughout the match (I. E.i didn't just sit on gens and then die on first hook), I don't care if I escape

This sums my thoughts up better, as someone who plays survivor too I almost prefer games were I hook everyone twice but they all get out by the skin of their teeth.

As survivor as long as my chases were long-ish and I got a couple gen done and saved a couple teammates I’m good... so basically pipping I guess

I made a thread with my argument for why DC penalties should stay.

This thread is me proving that red rank is a gold mine for people who abuse the DC feature. Any game I play and have a survivor DC, I will be posting the screenshot here.

All ranks DC, if you’re in games right red ranks that’s what you’ll see. If some comes from the green ranks and posts I’m sure those games have DCs too

I always had an idea for the end

The survivors found a way to escape for good, they are running through a fogfilled forest untill the fog starts disipating

They reach the end of the forest and see in the distant traces of civilitation, they finally escaped the nightmare

But the smiles quickly fade when they look behind them and see the killers leaving the forest

They escaped but at the cost of unleashing these maniacs into our world again

That’s a really cool story actually

  • @FriendlyGuy said:

I agree 100%. Even when i'm tilted af, i never dced.

I don’t either, I’m at least taking my bloodpoints and telling the other side/teammates GGs

Ad a killer even against teabaggjng SWF I give them a GG because they deserve it if they owned me, and I won’t whine and give them that pleasure.

As a survivor even when I get killed I give a GG to the killer, unless it’s something sick like IRI hatchet in which case if I’m first to die I don’t stick around to watch

  • Even if it’s not the last chapter I would like to see something like this, maybe the survivors escape the realm but at the last second remain to save someone else from being brought in?

  • I play both sides and a good game for both IMHO would be the killer getting 1-2 hooks on everyone, gates open, and maybe 1 kill at the end when teammates work together or give themselves up to save another.

Those are fun to me, bring the suspense back

Fun is very subjective. Everyone has their differences in fun. When someone isn’t have fun or is unhappy it’s not their job to cater to your every enjoyment.

No it’s not their job, but the fact that they willingly screw over three teammates for their own idea of fun shows the type of person they are.

This is like being one of those WR being paid to play football but whining they don’t get the ball 30 times a game

Again if you aren’t concerned about other people having fun, only yourself, then go play Fallout, resident evil or some other single playe game

  • @ThisLadyRightHere said:

There are multiple reasons why people DC not because they are just bad at the game. STOP being an entitled player. If someone doesn’t want to be in the game then they shouldn’t be forced to stay.

Example: Imagine if you had a love one you really care about and I forced them to play a game of life or death. They really wanna leave, but if they do they’re gonna get punish for it.

    Not cool right?

See, this is the reason DC penalties will exist. If you don’t want to play DBD then don’t play DBD, simple.

If you choose to play DBD but decide that playin against spirit isn’t fun, or seeing ruin is unfun, or being the first one found and hooked is a reason to DC you are affecting four other people just for yourself.

Sorry, that kind of attitude belongs in a PVE, single player game.

Eh, you're kinda right, but I don't really trust their spaghetti code that much. I'm not super upset by it not being around but I do kinda agree that it sucks. At the very least they could've enabled special holiday items to spawn in the bloodweb

im torn, I agree that a snowy lobby or bonus BP blooderb items SHOULD be simple... But considering they’ll be out of the office and short staffed for so long I would rather not risk a bigger mess just for a minor event

Cant imagine what its like to quit games constantly, if you do bad learn from it dont rage quit and call it bull. im all for the DC ban penalties and honestly id support them being more harsh for when you quit. oh whats that? "If I GeT bAnNeD IlL sToP pLaYiNg" good! means less games ruined for the rest of us.

Once the bugs and load screen crashes are fixed to not count as DC I agree.

People who threaten, “if you ban players they’ll find another game,” to them I say GREAT.

Id rather the game have 100K players that stick it out and not 300K players where half of them DC first time they get hit or if they hear the Nurse sound.

The things you see on kindred, or when you are waiting on the hook are either really entertaining or extremely depressing. You're indeed gambling with your sanity by equipping that perk :)

one teammate 20 meters away cleansing a dull totem then running off to cleanse another...

one teammate crouching to me from across the map...

Even if you play your best game as a survivor most of the time you're not gonna get nearly as many bloodpoints as you do on killer lol

Not as much, but the gap isn’t as big as people make it out to be if you actually do stuff. 20k compared to 28-30k as a general rule I’ve seen since I started really paying attention.

  • @Fibijean said:

What are you talking about? Free comedy shows are the best reason to run Kindred.

Seriously, I’m anytime I run kindred or bond I am amazed and how little some people actually do... no wonder people complain survivors don’t get enough bloodpijnts compared to killers, they do nothing but stealth

Twice today I had a teammate get hatch (7k) and ends up with less than 8000 bloodpijnts total #########

  • It’s only for a couple days, I’m hoping they will strongly look at this before making it permanent... although I do hope that’s sooner rather than later

  • @Peanits said:

what are the penalties then because that's what I saw on a couple streamers I follow... where did you hear numbers from

  • @Aceonfire said:

I'm going to take an educated guess here that the devs implemented the matchmaking ban at a certain time yesterday, but the DC tracker was actually including DC's that happened before the matchmaking ban went live.

Thus, if someone had DC'd or crashed in the day/hours before the ban system went live, they already had strikes against them, thus leading to their first ban being an escalated one.

I DC'd once for a legitimate reason AFTER the matchmaking DC ban went live, and my first timeout was 5 minutes.

So someone forgot to sync or reset the timers, or just f it it's too much work to do it correctly.

    How close am I? @not_Queen @Mathieu_Cote

I bet you hit it on the head, remember when the first Rift Tome dropped some people already had progress from the days prior.

I suspect WoW also has more stable servers and less frequent crashes.

Absolutely, I can't figure out a good solution but if people are getting banned/timeout for the game crashing on BHVR side that is a huge problem and it will cause people to find a new game.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/929216#Comment_929216

I agree with the point you're trying to make, but most other games have either a more slowly escalating penalty system, less random crashes or disconnects, and/or a more reliable connection system (such as allowing players to rejoin a game within 30-60 seconds of disconnecting instead of kicking them from the match altogether).

I like that the system is punishing for disconnects that aren't just done through the menu, I think that's the right call, but I also think that, since DBD is quite unreliable when it comes to randomly booting players from matches, the system should escalate at a much slower rate to accommodate for that.

The best comparison I can make to a game I have played is World of Warcraft for dungeons or Battlegrounds. Quit on your team and you get a 15-30 minute timeout from doing group stuffthe first time BUT BUT BUT the difference is WoW has single player options too you can quest while you wait or shop the Auction House.

If DBD had a different mode, or if the penalties were split between Killer and Survivor maybe? So if you DC as a killer because you get stuck then you can at least play around on survivor a bit?

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/928591#Comment_928591

I don't think they're planning on doing anything about it. It's a complicated thing to punish. I'm sure they'd be glad to hear any suggestion you have as to how it could be done, though.

Easiest solution I can think of is making struggle phase 2 automatic instead of mashing Space... makes them wait another minute and someone can save them also helps people who are complaining about carpal tunnel from it lol

  • I don’t think there was a big drop in players, I think a lot of players who played both sides have gone exclusively to survivor... just a hunch I have no stats to back that up admittedly

  • If only someone could have predicted that nerfing several top killers in the span of a few months would impact survivors as well...

This is making your bed and then having to lay in it

  • @snozer said:

Survivors have a bad habit of getting connection issues when "secret" offerings are used by the killer.

TLDR survivors dc during the loading screen when killers use a mori, this is the result, and punishment.

I understand that, I’ve actually stated before that all offering should be severely to avoid this. Does it really matter to you if the killer is using survivor pudding? As a killer do you care if the survivor uses 100% more altruism offering? There is really no reason to show them except maybe Bloody party streamers in case people wanna go a bit easier or even farm I guess

My concern although it hasn’t happened to me yet (knock on wood) I did have a few infinite loading screens earlier this week And I it happens 3-4 times and I get a long timeout it is really going to sour me to this game and the devs in general... and I’m not alone.

Believe me I want DC penalties more than anyone but the infinite load screen shouldn’t be punished.

  • Why? Hooking someone else is literally The opposite of tunneling... and survivors claim they need DS because killers are tunneling pieces of crap right

  • @The_Second_Coming said:

DS only needs to last 20 seconds, not deplete when you are down, and maybe even not work at all if you just unhooked someone with your DS still in effect. Simple. If 20 seconds has gone by and you aren't being chased, you are not being tunneled.

I agree. Someone gets unhooked and body blocks for their savior, I leave them to chase, down AND hook the other player then come back to pick up the first person... eat a stun because it's only been 50 seconds... please tell me how that is tunneling @Peanits

  • I think they predicted it last week on the 13th too...

  • @Parallax said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/926896#Comment_926896

If struggle is automatic, a hooked survivor wouldn't be able to kill themselves to give the last survivor hatch, so the killer has tons of time to find the second survivor.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/926894#Comment_926894

Because it takes maybe ten seconds to get a downed survivor to a hook, it wouldn't be much of a time loss than to just DC. The only real benefit to the DC penalty is that killers can get their BBQ stacks.

Letting themselves die to give hatch happens less than the killing self on hook so I think it's weighing which affects the game more.

  • @Parallax said:

People can just kill themselves on first hook, they would be out of the game, and won't suffer a penalty. A penalty will do nothing to fix the problem.

    @FreyatheKind said:

At least a time out penalty will prevent them from immediately jumping into the next game only to disconnect again and again. We've needed disconnect penalties for a while now.

Sure, players could still suicide on hook, but the killer still has to carry them to a hook which will buy the rest of the survivors still trying to play the game a little bit of added time.

This, it’s at least a start. Then if enough repeats keep coming maybe another step like making the phase two struggle automatic.

  • Even if it's just Double BP til Christmas or New year that would be awesome!

  • @Usui said:

I feel like the Syringe is in a good place, but it should only decrease charges upon use, not deplete the entire medkit immediately, the Styptic seems very clunky to use overall, so I'd be happy to see some quality of life changes, no idea what these could be though 😏

Whichever one is the Borrowed Time in a bottle, I really wish I could use it while moving someone... if that's what you mean by clunky I feel the same it's weird to pause mid chase to hit it

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

If those people would be the face of the game there is no doubt where the toxicity comes from.

If you've watched any of the ones I'm talking about they are pretty chill, not toxic or braggy at all about themselves. I would rather have them speaking out than shills who pretend everything is great with the game even though the player base knows otherwise. This game doesn't need yes men it needs critical responses from people the developers actually have back and forth with.

I'd love a feature to opt out from ranking whatsoever and get random survivors every time.

At least it would give me a chance to not get sweaty games which are only thing that I keep getting today.

People keep asking for this, are you SURE you want random games?

Cureent situation at red ranks if you get a sweaty killer at least your team should be capable of doing a chase and understand when to work on gens

Random game you’re asking for maybe you’ll get a chill game with a couple fun teammates and a chill killer trying out a meme build but the other possibly is getting a sweaty killer and three potatoe teammates who wanna have fun meming... is that the type of game you’re going to have fun in

  • @theArashi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/919142#Comment_919142

Why would you want to rank up anyway?

Other then get the achievement you get sweaty games one after another and there is still no reward whatsoever to getting the highest rank.

It’s not about wanting to rank up, just playing the game you rank up. If you do like a couple gens, unhook and heal someone, then have a decent chase you rank up... if you’re not trying to do that then what are you going to accomplish

  • @anarchy753 said:

I personally don't understand why this has happened. Recent changes to the emblem system has made ranking up harder but still not altogether difficult. It's still largely playtime=rank.

As a result of nobody resetting more than a handful of ranks, within a month or two the red ranks are going to be basically everyone. It's going to remove that separation of sweaty tryhards from the more casual ranks, and it's going to make new players find it almost IMPOSSIBLE to get a match against similar ranks. They'll have long queues every single match to be dumped with red ranks anyway.

I agree, thought the same thing especially for survivors. I almost never depip unless it’s a hard tunnel/mori game so even games I don’t pip up I do enough to black pip. It’s only a matter of time getting to rank 1 each reset, especially now that we only go back to 5... very soon a large part of the survivors will be red rank then what do the rank 15 killers do for queues

  • That would be rough on new players though. If you’re a red rank killer on Billy, Pig and Trapper for example but you’ve never played Plague you’ll be using her against rank 20 survivor... your skills and a basic understanding of the game means even without any addon and perks this will almost surely be an easy 4K and not fun at all for the new players

1 … 44 45 46 47 48 … 62
