Fixing a game does not make immediate money. Companies will do what makes them money.
Is it right? No. Is it reality? Yes. If there are bug fixes and reworks with this chapter update, that’s great, but it won’t be done in a short period of time.
I'm not just talking fixing bugs, more bugs come out everyday. Just pumping out content is extremely short sighed of BHVR if you ask me. It's great they can capitalize on the cash cow while they have it I guess if that is their goal then they're doing well.
I guess long term success isn't a goal, and having "created a game that had a tremendous head of steam, but that obviously got worse and worse until everyone quit," isn't going to look good on their resumes later.

new update en route with new bugs too.
Right!!! Every change causes at least one bug, before releasing anything else... and I mean anything no killers, survivors, maps, cosmetics. No perk updates. Just rework your coding so it actually WORKS for once.

I see this matchmaking complaint all over the place and I dont understand it. The problem is not matchmaking itself, it's that killers are severely underpowered and way more people play survivor making survivor queues super long. This is the same reason for low rank killers matching with high rank survivors.
You don't understand the complaint? Rank 15-16 killers are facing four red rank survivors, they have almost no chance to even catch one let alone kill one.

I also love the classic: “ It’s okay to DC if I’m not having fun because I’m slugged or getting camped. This penalty is big dumb!”
I have seen people DC for a tunneling killer or camping, as soon as they were downed without even being hooked... so apparently players can see the future.

And now pls tell us another fairy tale, maybe about Little Red Riding Hood, I like that one... Gen speeds are huge problem, everybody knows it, nerf is inevitable and your imaginary 3 min afk game will to help you. My games usualy lasts 3 minutes total because of insane gen speeds.
Now tell me another fairy tale since the fastest 5 gens could be done is 1:46 plus travel time plus 20 seconds to open gate. Assuming you chase no one that whole time.
Or for this fantasy does everyone bring BNP too?
Even people who say gens go too fast wouldn’t believe your story.

And you're the one trying to claim that only I and my network of people are the only ones who have problems with this game?
Have you not read the bug reports section on the forum here? I highly suggest you do, because there's a lot more than just I and 14 other people who post in that forum on a daily basis alone.
Do a little cross searching, I did because I was curious if in was right. A large number of the people who have these “Internet issues,” are the same people who explained they DC because spirit was unfair or the nurse brought 4 blinks, etc

My internet is fine. It also doesn't make myself, another survivor, and the killer disconnect from the match at the exact same time.
My computer isn't the problem. Plenty of other people with a wide variety of specs get infinite loading screens. If it's happening to a wide arrange of people, then it clearly isn't just my computer.
Read the problem with the bug splat. An access violation in this game can be from a wide variety of issues, to bad GPU drivers, to the Discord Overlay causing issues, to custom perk icons from causing issues, to some bad file just causing issues and the game needing to be re-verified on Steam to replace the bad file.
I can run the game on higher graphical settings if I really needed to. I just decide not to because I prefer a constant stable frame rate above all else. This game's graphics are not so ground breaking and the game isn't so pretty that I care about the visuals that much.
If me lowering the resolution of the game or playing it in windowed mode causes it to crash a lot, then that's still a problem with the game for the settings not functioning properly as they're supposed to. That's nothing to do with the computer itself because that means a high end computer that still went on those settings would still crash. But we already know that isn't the issue since people not on those settings still have problems.
again, you’re claiming this problem affects you and 14 people you know but almost no one else... play the powerball dude

If you guys are going to make a meme out of "slugged and bled out for 20 minutes" can I get some credit because it was from my thread? :P j/k I actually sorta agreed until I thought about and then felt stupid. I had like 5 matches of 4 man slugs yesterday. Not in a row or anything! So was just like "yeah,I feel you" lol.
The thread was just asking if people thought the DC penalty had the potential to make players toxic. Trying to waste time and make people want to DC etc. There was definitely some differences of opinion.
I think some people may go that route but it would be very few I think.

My brother has the same problems too. His computer is worth about $7,500. I don't think it's my graphics that's causing the problem if he's getting the exact same issues as well. Nor about the other 8 friends I know of mine or the 5 friends of his that also play the game. We all have the same problem. Same can be said of some of the streamers I watch -- some of which who play the game as their job.
Funny who a bunch of people are also getting screen shots and videos of the same problems as last time too, it's almost like they weren't fixed at all or something. BHVR wouldn't just not fix things, would they?
Good try, though.
I have seen Streamers from USA, Canada and Europe and I admit I see them have this problem maybe twice a week? I have had a DC maybe once every few days, I'm sure most people have the same. If that's what you're talking about then yes otherwise if you're saying you, your brother and your 13 friends are all having regular issues I'm gonna have to call BS. Thanks for trying though.

Luckily the developers of most games, this one included for now, agree with me.

That's what I don't understand then. What's a scenario where that's possible? You'd have to use a hack or glitch? I mean if the killer blocked you in a room and wouldn't move or something?
Okay, teammate gets hooked and you’re cleansing a totem in one of those corner bushes and a killer comes and stands there. Never moves or hits you so you can never leave. Your teammate dies but the EGC will never start the killer is literally forcing you to DC or wait him out.

Holding the game hostage is not playing properly to make it last longer in hopes the other side will disconnect.
And yeah you can only close the hatch if it's open. It only opens if there's only one survivor left, or if someone used the key to open it and you closed it before the others left.
If all 5 generators are completed and you can't find them and they're not going to the gates to leave, then yes you can open one of the gates yourself. This will trigger the endgame collapse.
The collapse was added last year as a way to counter hostage situations.. People not leaving after generators were done and doors were open, or killer camping the hatch, because back then you could get interrupt grabs off survivors jumping in the hatch.
Please don’t spread that, playing the game to make it take longer is not hostage... now if you make it so the other person cannot finish the game in anyway at all that’s hostage.
-
@kazakun said:
What exactly is holding the game hostage? I'm curious. I had a match the other day where I couldn't find the last guy for the longest time. At least 15 minutes. Couldn't find the stupid hatch,didn't even whispers or something. I know you can close the hatch if it's one guy,but what about two? I know you can open the exit yourself if the gens are on,right? Did that the other day. Sorry I'm sorta new to some of the terms.
So there were two left? Where was the other guy he couldn’t have been downed or hooked that long.
See above for a quote from a dev about what hostage is, it literally means the game can’t end. This was not holding the game hostage because you CAN find that survivor however hard it may be

The “survivor stuck in healing” bug caused disconnect standoffs last time they tried the dc penalties.
Months on its still in the game. They take so long to fix bugs.
I can’t wait until the next update is out and theres a new gamebreaking bug and the people here championing the penalties are all complaining about how unfair it is being given a penalty when they had to dc
The bugs happen like 1/25 or 50 games maybe? Anything more than that and BHVR would adjust it like they did last time they tried penalties

I tried, and I couldn't, GG.
Well you asked what you should do, if you want to quit because you tried and it wasn't good enough then YES the answer is eat the DC penalty. It's their to punish people who quit when the game isn't going their way and that is exactly what you described here.

Because they wanted me to chase them into that broken loop on grin pantry.
I was playing demo, and had 1 guy on death hook and 1 other guy who had been hooked.
The death hook guy (which was my only kill) had vanished, and was struggling to keep pressure on the other two. As soon as I started a chase on one of them (who would always run towards that broken loop) the other would get on the gen, and vise versa.
They were (game not balanced around) well organized, and I couldn't keep up. Thus I forfeited the match, but since there is no forfeit option, I went afk to let them finish, so we could all move on to another game.
I’m confused, they were pressuring the gen but then when you went AFK decided to stop trying?
-
@Sylorknag said:

The amount of information and coordination to which the game wasn't developed for.
Solos won't immediately know where a totem is just cause one of them ran by it during a chase.
Solos won't know which part of the map isn't safe anymore cause someone used all the pallets 5 min earlier.
Solos will waste time going for unhooks at the same time.
These are only a few of the advantages SWF have over solos. Even potatoes SWF.
Solos and SWF are night and day.
It’s a great advantage, no one argues that. But just chase them and eventually you catch them, it’s not like they’re keeping you from downing them in fact they’re not pressuring gens at all so eventually you’ll get a 4K

I wouldn't mind getting gud, I'm rank 4 so I like to believe I'm at least decent, but facing players using a mechanic that is widely accepted as broken and unfair is unbearable for me.
Would I still lose matches against really good players? Yes.
Would my chances of winning increase if they weren't using God mode? Massively.
What god mode? You can still chase and down SWF

@Sylorknag said:
So, A couple of weeks ago I had a game in which half way through I realized I had no chances of winning again a SWF who had picked Grim Pantry.
I went afk for a good 5 min and to no surprise, they weren't doing any gens.
What are the options at this point?
Eat the DC penalty?
Get looped to oblivion?
Stare at trees?
Thoughts.
Wander away or tab out, let them decide how valuable their time is

I’ve done Haunted, Devour, MYC before I can’t stand NOED.

So, the point I want to tell is. I BELIEVE my style of playing (you have to get 8-9 Hooks for the first kill, and each next hook will be every Survivor's last hook) is the ideal that the game should be.
But the Gen go too fast for me to able to do that, unless Survivors are bad or make many mistakes.
I prefer to play that way as killer too, I like to get everyone 2 hooks before killing anyone or at least 2, 2, 2 and 1 if someone is hard to find.
I do that because I play survivor too and I know getting tunneled stinks, but at the same I get WHY players tunnel the math backs it up to be a good strategy.

Pretty sure you guys just got baited. The OP is making fun of the 4 gens done in 3 minutes post with one game as evidence.
Th is guy gets it, people are in an uproar over Tru having one game out of 20 that day where survivors absolutely gen rushed the heck out of him. Using that ONE game, with a slow/bad killer to claim Gens go too fast.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Having the entire game take place with 1 gen left is just painful, stressful and unpleasant. If this game is "Fair" then they should divide the gameplay up with changes so it takes place across the whole game and not just at the last gen.
Why? It is a simple fact that the fewer gens there are left the easier it is for a killer to pressure them all, specially if close together. Even if split up a killer with mobility by teleport or high speed can pressure all three remaining gens.
How would you rework it to change that? People are so quick to say what needs done without any idea how.
-
@Malik1178 said:
Why do people not understand to just apply a lot of gen pressure. Its not that hard and ive done it my self. Im red ranks and i rarely get g rushed
Key word is rarely! You’re right, most games you can start to build pressure even if it means 2-3 gens get done the survivors get stuck at 2 left.
But people see this example that happens 1 out of 25 times or 50 times and they use it as their shining example.
-
@Warlock_2020 said:
Another cherry-picked video from an obnoxious streamer who plays the game for a living. He has between 10 to 20 matches during a stream and one of them fits the narrative so we use that to prove our point.
If you change gen times, you throw 90% of the game out of whack in order to balance for 10% of your players. This may work in an esport game, but not a casual game where you need to maximize participation and purchase.
I've had matches where 3 gens pop before my third trap is in hand. Those are rare matches, but they do happen. Those are not my normal match.
That’s the rub, if you wanna balance this game for the majority it messes it up for that top tier, or when people like me get matched against the top tier because of bad matchmaking.
But you have to balance for the 99% because that’s smart business 101

Right, that info is a huge advantage plus, those two perks are usefull every match. The borrowed time, to be honest, is mostly because if I want to raise wglf fast, i just get a hit near the hooked guy, unhook him and get another it immediatly, giving me 3 WGLF levels. In some games, I almost have to do it so I can get my wglf filled and it is better than escaping because 3 levels almost doubles the bloodpoints.
I should fit in WGLF because I do enjoy the BPs. Maybe take out the exhaustion perk for it and see.
@Awakey said:
I run Spine Chill and Lithe as my choices for non meta perks. I only run Adrenaline and DS because it fits my aggressive playstyle.
DS is great when you get that tunneling killer too, I feel like when I have it they “play fair,” and when I don’t they tunnel even if someone on my team is an obsession.
BT is similar, I make safe saves so I don’t need it... but I do wish I had it at times for end game camper saves.

I don't care what others think is best. For me, the best build is: BT, Spine Chill, Kindred and Adrenaline but since I got to p3 with a few characters, I'm just trying to farm items so I'm using for a few months now BT, Plunder's, Ace in the hole and WGLF.
Even with my best build, with the amount of grinding this game needs, I can't abdicate from WGLF.
I like spine chill and kindred too, so much info. The other slot is usually one exhaustion perk and then Detective hunch/pharmacy or something else fun

Which is resilience, sb, iron will and spine chill.
VarietI for me too, I feel like running the meta I know how most games will play out against most killers, barring the exception good or bad.
I don’t “play to win,” I’m at red ranks anyways and I’ve proven to myself I can stay at rank 1-2 for extended periods in the current system.

@gatsby said:
Spine Chill does two really strong things.
- It gives you a clutch 6% boost when you need it. Seems small but it can have a massive impact on last second gen finishes or heals that would've been interrupted and it can make risky vaults more reliable.
- This is the major one. It lets you know when the killer is nearby, but doesn't know where you are or isn't focusing you. Without Spine Chill you have to respect the terror radius a whole lot more and assume you've been caught or you're going to be.
I agree, the benefit of being able to ignore terror radius is huge

@Brucecastro81 as soon as I see a flashlight, I get Lightborn. One down, I want its a hook, not a save. If many bring other item along with Flashlight, I may go Franking demise. I had a game where a SWF brough a surprise 3 Flashlight (they get 3 flashlight when there was 7sec countdown in lobby), you will get why Lightborn is my built-in
Wait, so you’re purposely staying low rank so you can dominate rank 13-15 survivors? Based on your results and the way you say you let people go I’m guessing you’re more likely belonging in the purple ranks anyways...
I have no sympathy for people who try to smurf and are forced by MM to play against people they should be against anyways.
