were talking about perks not items, and btw instaheals are supposed to equal something smiilar to a huntress with 3 oneshot hatchets

and also you said it ds its not on the same level as a hex perk both game changing in a way but survivors stuff is a bit weaker and i dont see how theres more risk than reward in hexes, i mean, if you miss ds its gone forever just like a hex

Let's be real...how often will you miss a skill check that large? Be honest

well theres a slight risk about missing ds or ######### up dead hard, maybe someone else will save without bt so you dont get to use it adren has the same risk as noed: of playing with 1 perk less til endgame etc...

the risk is there, might not be much but with the exception of ds none of them can even compare to being as game changing as a hex perk like devour hope ending games early ruin making them last longer and apply fake pressure or even third seal which can really mess up a solo group real bad if not cleansed

A single insta heal at the proper time can be game changing..one ds..game changing..granted they arnt on the same level of effect but..that does not mean they should be more risk than reward...its not fair...

Iron Will is criminally underrated. You can gain so much distance even at basic jungle gyms if the killer messes up a mind game because he can't hear you.

Culorophobia is usuless, because survivors have to be in your terror radious to work (when I think of it, Doc and Legion with ir button would use it to some extent, but still… situational perk) and Thana would get a little buff? 16% doesn't do much (20% would be nice, I guess?).

Yeah..1 or two percent a stack is all it needs

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

I'd only find it useful on the really loud survivors like Jake, Jeff, Laurie, Jane, Ash etc. They badly need Iron Will. Since I main Dwighty boy, I don't really need it.

I'm also a fellow dwight and it may not seem like it but it helps massively

It's excellent in red ranks. I have no clue what you're talking about. Although I think you're saying that to make yourself feel superior?

I dont think even he knows lol

Anti heal doc would like to have a word haha. and thana effects everything and only gets harder to get rid of as its buffed. the higher the numbers the more opressive it becomes to the point where theres no use healing, everyones insta downable, and they struggle to do gens.

im not saying thana shouldn't be buffed or changed, i just know why the devs are hesitant to do so. anti heal doc's/legions/plagues would be rampant and hard to beat. if it affected action speeds other than/or/only healing i could see it being numbers buffed hugely however.

Eh..still think its flimsy reasoning man, it's kinda bs that such a cool perk is held back when the survivors already own full counters to it

  • I'm sorry but this is so petty I cant believe I'm reading it...

  • Well 1..nobody uses culorophobia lol, NOBODY uses dying light lol, sloppy ok but..insta heals negate all of these..not to mention we'll make it , botany alone negates thana and sloppy together almost..

Not to mention I didn't say anything about a survivor offering getting negated.

Also the fact that you didnt tag me THIS time tells me you didnt really want me to see your response.

    My point is proven.

I just forgot to quote..if you feel I'm somehow intimidated your terribly I'll informed , and an offering being negated means the killer lost their offering as well so that's an even trade..completely irrelevant

Wanting a nerf to camping doesn't mean we want killers to be nothing but playthings. I'm a killer main myself, I just think camping is unhealthy for the game. And we are not being selfish, lol. But we are allowed to voice our opinion about this game.

I've already told you my thought process on the matter..and I didnt say anything about you..just the ones making outlandish suggestions like near invulnerability for the unhooker, entity blockers on the killer, etc

  • @oxygen said:

I disagree, not like the developers simply look at the quantity of threads about stuff, especially when it comes to things that have forever been complained about like camping, tunneling, SWF and whatnot. I genuinely believe the initial Freddy nerf back when he released made them learn that very well.

But this is off topic and I've already sort of derailed the thread, so I'll just leave it at that. Didn't mean to accuse you of tinfoil hat stuff, I guess I just overreact to seeing "strong" words used to describe situations where I feel they don't apply.

I understand, just gave my thoughts on the matter

Nurse and spirit are probably some of the most likely killers to get skins this Halloween! Doc is said to be on the agenda apparently though no date on when and trapper deffinately needs atleast a bag as basekit. Thana is kind of a bit of risky bussiness though as buffing it too much makes legion/plague way to strong as they specialize in keeping people injured, though I too want to see it buffed (mostly through dead players still giving atleast a portion of the debuff.)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/664817#Comment_664817

Cosmetics bring in revenue which helps fund them which in turn gives them more time to develop and fix bugs. They are also completely separate dev teams, one being artists and one being coders. That being said I completely understand your frustration man, though is there any bug in particular your fustrated over?

I disagree on thana, why? Because it rewards killers whom apply pressure and should be rewarded better as it encourages a much more skillful and fun play style , plus survivors have several perks to counter the debuff already and are in line for two more perks that grant insta heals this chapter

  • Mhm..so..an offering

The one perk that doesnt activate sometimes if your unlucky

Only works if wraith camps and that's what ds is for..or just flashlight him

Possibly a dead perk I suppose but not likely especially if your coordinated and a team mate baits the killer

And adrenaline as long as your alive is almost a garunteed activation thanks to the egc, and as long as you arnt dead nothing stops it from activating not even being hooked..in fact it makes it stronger which is effed up but I digress

Yeah...nothing comparable except deliverance and maybe unbreakable but that's just poor luck and not as likely to fail by any means

Individuals having dumb ideas and suggestions isn't evidence of an agenda though.

Like for the camping threads most of the posts in them are against the suggestions or neutral to them at best, surely if there was anything resembling an agenda there'd be more people agreeing with suggestions in the threads in question.

Well you gotta remember there are still millers whom read these posts..and the sheer volume of them is alarming..I'm not saying it's an illuminati tin foil hat kinda scenario however it lights up the selfish nature of many of these survivor players posting these threads..it shows that theres an alarming amount of survivors whom only wish the killers to be nothing more than playthings and that they are the important ones..its sad honestly

  • Honestly they should take a page from noed and make totems stay full till the perk itself actually activated at least once, wouldnt help ruin sadly but other hexes would see more play

  • I'd love to see some hallowed blight style skins for nurse and spirit , I'd adore seeing some tweaks to improve doc and trappers effectiveness , oo..and please for the love of God a buff to thana

  • @oxygen said:

You know I completely agree with you but can you make a single post without ending it on a note about some sort of percieved survivor agenda?

Is it percieved when the evidence is there? Honestly tell me you can read off some of these ideas posted and think they're completely fair to both sides and cannot /will not be exploited almost immediately..garuntee you cant

  • @Locker_Monster said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/664705#Comment_664705

People are not actually making 'Punish Hook Campers' threads because they are worried about player retention.

If that were the case, their ideas would not be so terribly one-sided and blatently favor Survivors/be easily exploited.

They just hate that they fell for a camping Killer/were camped, and want something to make it easier for THEM. The actual health of the game is usually the farthest thing from their minds.

My proof? Some of these suggestions:

A Survivor who dies when camped should get a respawn. Or the hatch should open.

There should be an Entity-wall the Killer can't pass so he can't stop someone from unhooking a Survivor.

If a Survivor is near a Hooked Survivor & in the Killer's TR, he should gain immunity to being hit or grabbed out of the unhooking animation.

The Killer should actively lose BP for every second he's near a hooked Survivor.

The hooked Survivor should GET the Killer's BP if the Killer camps.

The Killer should move/attack/do everything slower when near a hooked Survivor.

A hooked Survivor should get a free hook escape if the Killer camps.

The struggle progression should move very slowly/not at all if a Killer camps.

So, while players claim 'We just want to make sure no new players are chased away!', they are lying.

Every single one of these suggestions would chase away KILLER players..But they don't care. They don't care about the health of the game.

They just want some sort of mechanic to abuse/to shut down a play style they don't like. They want to force Killers to play by their made-up rules so they can win easier.

And it's bloody annoying to see 15 threads of this lying 'ThInK oF tHe NeW sUrViVoRs...I mean players! All players!' a day.

I saw a couple of these..######### are these suggestions....this is so ignorant and so selfish I cant believe someone actually posted them

  • @Carpemortum said:

Not getting to use them at all in a large number of circumstances.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/664710#Comment_664710

Honestly, as far as big picture matters, the main thing I want is for there to be a BP event for distracting a killer when they camp. That would mean that you get sacrificed, but could still afford a common item for someone literally taking the entire game from you. That's a solid minute after having to wait however long for the matchmaker to put you into the game. What's the point in staying at then? Zero punishment for a BP event.

It's still against tos..so that kinda shakes it up..plus if everyone gives in to these guys you'll make it even worse

  • @Grim said:

@immortalls96 it's where you look inside a locker without actually spending the time to open it.

Ah..kinda like how nurse can see people in lockers she blinks through

  • Locker peaking ? Never heard of that one before

  • I do think the totems being hidden till they actually do something is a great idea..it would give totems a bit more viability and the spawning of totems wouldnt be as big of an issue , noed does it this way and it's a successful perk (albeit kinda annoying ) but the other totem perks are quite different in that regard

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/664687#Comment_664687

Not if, similar to DS, it's only usable once. Even in the lore of the Entity, the survivors are meant to have hope for which the killer crushes. A complete lack of hope makes people not want to even play the game.

Ds end game by itself is pretty much a garunteed escape..plus bt..now you want invulnerability for the unhooker too? You clearly arnt seeing the big picture..this would be abused to hell and back

  • Dunno why people pretend this is so huge..camping killers make up maybe 15 percent of my matches if that..plus its found almost exclusively at bottom ranks , I get the new players may not enjoy it but I'll tell you what we all went through it and got better..people need to stop treating players like they'll never actually get good at the game..its self destructive

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

Or hell, make a perk similar to Borrowed Time. You stay near a hooked player for X amount of time while in the killer's terror radius. When it triggers, you can't be downed or grabbed while unhooking someone, and if the down you while you use a protected hit event within 10 seconds of unhooking someone, you just go into deep wound status. To incentivise unhooking a camped survivor.

But then people can just chase around the hook...then abuse this..plus it Grant's God mode and game

This... perks like spine chill will help you know when shes coming towards you when you're broken or if she has corrupted purge.... as stated in the comment I mentioned the best way to counter her is to not cleanse and nail out gens making her feel powerless

Yeah..hence why I use thana as a bandaid fix for the devs giving survivors control over a killer power

  • And what can they do without demanding killers be forced to play how survivors want? What do you think will happen if they do?

  • Illness of course..plague only becomes strong once you cleans..now if the killer is beating you down with just m1..maybe cleanse and just stealth during her purge , but beyond that avoid cleansing and crank out the gens

  • I agree blocks are useless..a decreased sleep timer alone would be a massive improvement and actually make the blocks worth taking as they are a semi form of map pressure

  • Just don't cleans unless your team does, and avoid getting sick as long as possible , do that and shes a killer with no power

  • @CoffengMin said:

thats high risk/reward for ya, dont like the risk?dont ask for the reward

(also sorry for how mean this sounds but the point is made)

Tell me..where's the risk to survivors better perks ?

  • Hmm..leather is crap but bbq is a great perk...plague..not sure where she is tbh, clown..I personally dislike him aesthetically but hes..ok? Legion..kind of fun but needs some balance tweaks as his power without a proper build screws him more than helping him..I miss anyone ?

  • Yeah this kind of thing would just cause an exodus of newer killers , and make everyone feel once again the game is heavily survivor biased as scummy playstyles by survivors are always rewarded in some manner..so why should killer be forced to play only 1 way? Now I am not saying I dont think camping is crappy , just saying you cant tell one side they can play any way they want and not the other

  • My only issue is when it's used as a safety net to destroy your trap setups or go in a locker for free invincibility or free escapes , other than that I dont hate the perk just dislike how people use it for more than what was intended

  • @ad19970 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/663929#Comment_663929

I heard it was the other way around on the PS4. I don't think we should ignore killer queue times being longer on PC though. It's possible there are other reasons why people don't want to play killer on console. One thing that would come up is bad framerate and not being able to increase the aim sensitivity more. Those I'd say are seperate issues though.

I'd agree those do make killer life all the more difficult..we already have a massive shortage of nurses from it, however the killer cues have been far worse on PC back when survivor was running rampant with ds and mettle so I'm still not going to just say "oh survivor is just so miserable rn" because I'd be lying to say I believed it..the changes survivors have gotten have been nothing..honestly ? If everyone would try a few perks..they should try self care with botany , it's a very useful two perk combo that has multiple uses and has brought me great success..but here I am..messing around my builds for fun while killer I tailor my builds 4th perk to best suit the killer because I cant afford to pull punches..now I'll agree solo can be rough..just last night had a 3 man swf farming with the killer..I wasnt included in that so as it was a plague and they had cleansed repeatedly..well..let's just say I got farmed and tunneled to oblivion..but..that only ensued because my team screwed me, not the killer..but the solo experiance is going to be massively empowered in the near future so it's only going to get easier for survivor and much harder for killer as I see it

  • @chieftaco said:

@immortalls96 just get better at the game and try to have fun until you do.. you must not be good enough to adapt to the loss of a teammate and still have a good time, so seriously, relax.. just have a good time.. find people to help in the fog and follow them around, hang out with them, and see what happens..

if you are trying to be the best of the best every time you load into dead by daylight trials, you're setting yourself up for having a really bad time.. most people out there aren't trying to be the best of the best.. they're trying to do who knows what who knows where, with or without who knows who..

at the risk of getting boo'd here comes another one: who cares? there's a killer after you! maybe you should focus on running and escaping the chases as long as you can and hopefully learn a little bit each time you do..

if that game goes over a little bit quickly again, who cares? there's another game waiting on you to give it another go.. become a better teammate by learning how to operate in situations differently and you'll end up having fun even if you're trying not to..

I'm sorry but what the heck are you talking about ?

  • @Warlock_2020 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/664002#Comment_664002

I disagree. Suiciding on hook is an option to surrender the game. It does not rob the killer of sacrifice points. Granted, some are bad sports and use it if they are just mad, but I've even used it when I have a team of potatoes all sitting around the hook doing nothing while the killer is on the other side of the map. I've seen people use it when they are hardcore tunneled off the hook, and I don't blame them.

It is a choice as to whether try to kobe off. Then you have a choice as to whether struggle or give in. Both are in the game's design and there for a reason.

Dunno..just seems like the one thing preventing the dcing issue from being resolved..

  • @Warlock_2020 said:

Though I don't disagree at all, the overall conversation has been about people who suicide on hook. That is not a violation of anything. But, I agree about the DC'ers and the scrubs.

True but hook suicides should be treated the same or removed completely , because itll be used as a workaround once dcing gets hammered on..

  • @Warlock_2020 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/663935#Comment_663935

Wait, DC'ers and suiciders are not worth keeping, but face campers are? My point is, you will not clear those people out unless you rework the whole system. Does not matter. Play your game. If you don't like how people react, and you think you want to try another style, try it. You can't do much about the toxicity in this game, other than ignore it and try to find those who are not so toxic.

The difference is one group is violating tos..and the other are just scrubs

  • I think his resource base of his power should be tweaked but when the stars align hes ok

  • I dont think that was the issue..pretty sure it was the killer aura part..all in all..solos will get a massive buff sooner or later..devs are already planning it

  • Yeah he loses power so easily I cant blame people...hes not useless but definitely needs love..the devs made a huge mistake changing him how they did

What platform are you playing on? Because most posts regarding lobby queue times seem to be about killer queue times taking to long, and for me that is also the case. I can find a game with survivor always very fast, but as killer often it takes definitely longer to find a lobby.

I'm on ps4..but regardless it only makes sense considering the circimstances..as a survivor I can barely get a killer on my level anymore..its always way too low..hence with putting two and two together I have concluded my cues are slow because its trying to keep you near your rank but..its not possible because not enough killers are high ranking meaning we are currently in a shortage..

  • @ad19970 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/663549#Comment_663549

I mean that's why I said these penalties should not apply once the exit gates are ope. Of course the killer is forced to camp then.

Also, I feel like we are getting in a spot where people don't feel like survivors are favored. Pallet vaccuum removed, exhaustion nerf, healing nerf, pallet density nerf, Mettle of Man nerf, and so on. There have been many changes that favored killer. Survivors have gotten very little buffs in comparison. It definitely was needed, but saying the devs favor survivors just isn't true anymore. And then there are map reworks coming, which will just buff most killers in the game.

And all things you listed, are just ways for survivors to be able to gain an advantage and to win. It doesn't prevent you from playing as killer. Being camped pretty much means you can't play the game until the next match.

I think the posts that talk about long killer queue times speak for themselves. We need more survivor players, and getting rid of the probably most frustrating thing to deal with as survivor will most likely help.

The stats say ots caused by too few killers not survivors, and my survivor cues reaffirm this belief for me..plus you forget..survivors are about to receive the biggest buff they've ever recieved in the future..what do you think life will be like for killer when it happens? You know it..I know it..I will not simply believe unless I'm shown , after all..we may be about to see nurse kneecapped..we still dont know..
