Quite the opposite, PT was slightly buffed when the efficiency malus for multiple survs working on a gen was increased (from 10% to 15%, if i'm correct), so that with two surviros you come out roughly at 100% (more like 99%). So when one surv needs 80 seconds for a gen, two survs with PT need a little more than 40 seconds.
Edit: If FT would seriously no longer have this effect, which effect would be left then? Just the increases BP?
PT was nerfed bc the efficiency rebuff got higher. PT was indirectly nerfed.

One of the biggest grievances I have with killer is how bad the fov is..survivors can abuse it to make it impossible for you to see them when right in front of you, flashlights dont respect fov either, and it overall makes everything feel clunky , would it be possible to add the fov from shadowborn from the perk to base? Then change it to a new more unique perk and remove the fov change on monitor? I think it would be a really nice polish to the game..and I see no reason why it would be too difficult since a perk does it already
If you go against flashlights dont run shadowing as it DOES affect flashlight angles.

The simple answer is that survivors only have to play around ONE opponent running a bunch of meta perks (up to four total). Killer usually has to deal with FOUR opponents running a bunch of meta perks (potentially up to sixteen total).
Plus a bunch of survivor "meta" perks are rather controversial (usually considered somewhat overpowered) such as DS and Unbreakable. Maybe it's just my opinion, but I don't find that most killer perks are ever really considered overpowered or problematic beyond NOED (which isn't truly OP, but tends to generate frustrating gameplay situations) and PGtW/Ruin (which are situationally strong perks). There are certainly people who claim that BBQ & Chili and Borrowed Time are also OP, but I personally find those accusations unwarranted.
It's all a perk arms race. Killers feel they need to run the best stuff to keep up with survivors who run THEIR best stuff. But survivors also tend to run the best options available in case the killer brings strong perks of their own. I think if DbD can eventually reach a point where there are always multiple viable options to pick instead of one standout perk for a certain category/archetype, then this may become less of an issue. Some great examples of this happening already are Self-Care vs Inner Strength or the variety of Exhaustion perks on offer. Examples of this idea done poorly are how Unbreakable puts all the other anti-slugging perks to shame, or how almost no anti-tunneling perks really exist besides DS.
I personally hate bbq but only bc wglf doesn't have another benefit like it does. Tbh I hate it in the name of fairness lmao

They may be powerful/annoying, but they have plenty of counters.
I find legion and huntress annoying but only because of legion having no chase interaction and hatchet hitboxes being the size of small planets.

First, those update news are great and i'm excited to finally test the MMR on PC. But one thing is on my mind:
Currently, if i want to play the Wraith, i have to go into the lobby with Billy and then i switch to Wraith in the last second. Otherwise it often occurs that everyone or some are switching items to flashlights. When i play Spirit, a lot more people just leave the lobby than usual. I don't want to go into detail much more since it's not allowed. It doesn't happen every game, but significantly more often with those killers. The second thing doesn't bother me so much, but the first is very annoying and gamechanging and makes Wraith kinda unplayable. Same probably goes for other killers that i don't play (Hag - flashlights, Doc - Calm Spirit). Being able to trick those cheaters into using stuff they don't need was the good side of this exploit/hack .
Apparently they did but since it's BHVR I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Escaping the wiggle gives survivor points, though. So you don't even need to be the one to equip the flash light.
Not if you get fl saved. Flashlights don't ever give survival points.

"You don't have an opinion that agrees with mine, you must be a killer main if you think that way!"
Or, maybe I just have a different opinion than you and don't agree that an easier role that shares points with three other people, should get rewarded just as well as the much more difficult role.
Also, you say survivor BP is hard to earn, and yet mark off literally numerous methods of which to obtain survivor category BP as "they don't count". Why don't they count? Deliverance, DS, Self Care, Medkits, Flashlights and such all provide survivor category BP when used, do they not? So clearly they are a method of earning BP in the survivor emblem, and should count.
Just saying, flashlights give boldness and altruism

2 survivors, one with Prove Thyself, do a gen in 40 seconds
That means if you take 30 seconds to down a survivor, and 10 seconds to hook them, you lose a gen every chase
Not true its around 45 seconds. Pt doesnt do very much.

The reason I ask also is because I make content as well and would rather not screw over the type of videos I do if it means that I lose my account I have had since almost day one.

Doubtful. Pop is fine as is. It doesn't hinder new players like ruin did. Idk the whole story on they changed ruin, but it wasn't pick rate. Tbh tho, I want old ruin back as a survivor main bc then genrushing takes SKILL.

None of those statements are accurate at all. Do you play both sides at rank 1?
I dont really play killer anymore bc it's too easy so no. Survivor I do, and killer I'm purple going against reds. How does spamming snares or doing a "mindgame" by standing still take skill? I was a killer main for a very long time and avoided them bc I like to play fair. Those two dont need buffs.

Yea...A different animation. Spirit, hag and myers are impossible to blind on pallets. Windows mean you dont have an angle. You can always blind them on Windows. If you start the blind before they start the break animation, you can blind them still. You should save your flashlight for saves though.

@PrettyFaceKate said:
Of course, everything I'm about to say is subject to how attentive the survivors are and how much distance they have on you.
If they're looping around the crane itself to use the vault, you want to chase them counter-clockwise, show your red light at the ramp and double back to meet them when they land. Depending on timing, you might get the hit or force the pallet. If you're close enough that you think you can get them before or during the vault, you want to give a quick glance to your left inside the crane cabin to check if they hid in the corner at the last moment to juke you. You can even do that while lunging.
For the other loops you should post screenshots, so it's clear exactly what spots you're referring to.
Damn. Killers actually know how to run that now? Clap clap clap.

@Desarme said:
The developers are aware that with the help of a shard + locker, you can ignore the executioner's ability, as well as put the killer in a position that he has to take a stab in the back
So what? If that counters you, you're abusing his power to tunnel. If you do that, survivors can abuse ds locker strat.

Hi,
I just did a game as a killer against survivors that were clearly more experienced at the game than me, I did my best and in the end game I had 1 guy hooked with the other 3 all running round the hook trying to get him. I was fending them off trying to get a down. Got to the point where they just left.
End of the game I was greeted with this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/L06GSI8CQ6KD/chat1-li.jpg
I'm the pink and ive numbered the survivors 1,2 and 3.
Also here are their ranks compared to mine:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/AKE9NMDFYL1Q/ranks1-png.png
So not only was I totally outclassed due to the matchmaking system, I was given a load of abuse at the end of the game. This game is making me feel miserable and badly affects my mental health so that will be my last game as I can't take it anymore, this isn't even close to an isolated incident.
That isn't matchmaking. They see with low ranks to play against low rank killer.

Yes buff all killers. I seldom play killer so 90% of my games is as survivor. But I'm very good at it, pitty others won't learn the game instead of screaming for nerfs. Such losers.
Not when good players are getting punished for players that shouldnt be at that level. They can buff weak killers and nerf strong ones, AFTER they fix survivor ranking.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
As others have pointed out perks are not designed for certain ranks.
I see green ranks camping but I see them making mistakes because they don’t know the game to their full potential, and I also see red ranks who DO know the game camping and tunneling without making the mistakes green ranks make.
This narrative that “high ranks must play fair because they don’t need to play scummy” is really starting to get old. I have literally seen killers go after freshly unhooked survivors like they were at a damn buffet, because they realize “no obsession means no DS”.
Sometimes the new people actually have more skill and play the most fair IMO.
Ikr? I always get tunneled without ds bc no one else brings it. Honestly killers just want to tunnel. And when I have tunneling killers, the 4 man flashlight see comes out. No need for ds when we have flashlights!

@woundcowboy said:
So before anyone writes this off as a shitpost, I play both sides extensively. M1 killers have a skill cap that makes them feel unsatisfying.
There is plenty to learn as a killer in DBD, but m1 killers can only do so much. The game boils down to knowing tiles, routing and red glow mind games. Once you have those, there isn’t much more to do. You straight up can’t catch survivors at some tiles, and survivors are just going to be walked down if they are in the open.
This is why so many survivors hate spirit and Nurse, since they add mind-games that survivors have to play. The game should be balanced around all killers having solid mindgames. Sorry to ramble.
Nurse is fine. Spirit takes no skill whatsoever, and is more powerful than the more skillful killers. Spirit needs to be nerfed so nurse is the best killer again.
-
@DBD78 said:
It's not the killers fault that so many survivors are so bad at this game. Even in red rank there are a ton of awful players who can't play as a team. Buff all killers and let survivors learn how to play the game. It's the only fair solution.
So freddy, and spirit need buffs? Most other killers need buffs? No. You are clearly entitled.

No killer but noobs can be mindlessly ran around. The point in chases is using map tiles the best of your skill and in 50/50 situations, try and outplay the other side and as killer try and create as much of these situations as possible. Against certain killers like Billy/Nurse the use of these tiles can be sightly or completelly different but still fun. Freddy can be looped just like anyone else hes not boring at all. But Spirit, she has no counter nor optimal way to run her around. Honestly, I can’t wait till they gut her finaly.
I like freddy less than spirit but I always run spine chill so I guess I can't really say anything.

Bruh removing her husk AND passive phasing is just rewording the fact that you want The Spirit to be completely neutered. That's literally her essence: mindgames.
She should at least let survivors know when shes phasing. Passive phasing is fine though.

@TheRockstarKnight said:
Everyday when I boot up Dead by Daylight, I remove an unwanted killer challenge (Hook 3 Survs in the basement in one round), just to get a new worse killer challenge (Kill x Survivors by hand with the worst killers ingame in one round)
I get it's probably hyperbole, but 'in one round' dailies don't exist. Progress on dailies persists between games, so you'll get a daily eventually if you play enough.
As for being able to choose which role, the devs have said that dailies exist to get people to play both sides. I doubt they'll ever just let you choose which role the daily is for.
That said, maybe getting 1 guaranteed Survivor daily, 1 guaranteed Killer daily, and 1 randomized daily could be a nice compromise?
That way you wouldn't get handed a 9 Killer daily streak by RNG, but it'd still help encourage people not to just play one side all the time.
Yea. I havent gotten a survivor daily in months.

I mean that is why whenever you play solo survivor, you practically need to get Iridescent in every emblem and practically carry entire team. It almost feels like you are the team rather being part of a team. If you win, its like you barely won. Solo is in balanced state.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvgpJn9Qvew
I think Tru3 summarizes Illustrates SWF VS Solo. Solo is nothing like SWF. SWF perfectly illustrates two very important points. The first is that SWF does everything faster by like... 3x because communication and optimization is far superior than solo. The other part that SWF showcases is the ability to bounce back and effectively nullifies any kill pressure that killer produces. In some sense, SWF undermines killers skill. They can fail every single possible loop and chase and in the end, It just doesn't matter. Some people use "Genrush" as excuse when they're not playing well as killer and they get beaten by solo's and stuff that is actually problematic just gets thrown under the radar. It does not help that majority of the killers are balanced around lackluster solo-play and new killers barely have any add-ons to compete against the top while leaving SWF as it strong as it currently is. You would think that they would at least add decent iridescent add-on for killers to deal with this problem, but that remains to be untrue.
what you get is two radically different games modes that look like following:
1 gen done+1 down(Demogorgon) vs 5 downs, 3 generator done in same 4 minutes.
Thing is tho, he isnt even good at the game. He thinks everythings a streamsnipe or a swf or a hack. He refuses to acknowledge his own mistakes. If you want something accurate, watch the jrm.

Like I said this was done in custom games, which may have affected results. These averages came from the host/killer perspective, which seemed to get blinded slightly faster than what was physically indicated for survivors . We based tests on when killer heard the flashlight click until they got the "blinded" screen. This was also from literally across a dropped pallet (~1m away) with the survivor pre-aimed at the killers face, not ~5m away while running past trying for a flashlight save.
The Utility Flashlight itself has had no stat changes since it came out (it was just given a better description in 1.8.3).
For the other points, the Purple Flashlight's description literally includes that it "Moderately (15%) Increases Blindness Duration" and that it "Slightly (5%) Decreases Accuracy" (which is how steady a survivor is capable of holding it).
Regardless, they are all very small values with generally minimal effects on gameplay. We all know the only reason anyone uses the purple light over the other two is because it lasts 50% longer by default.
Accuracy for flashlights is like accuracy for nurse. It doesn't mean anything.

Balanced: freddy, legion, spirit, hillbilly(before the ptb), leatherface(after the ptb), hag, oni, plague, wraith, doctor, ghostface, huntress
Freddy and spirit arent balanced. I think clowns fine. Nurse and deathslinger are also fine. And plague and legion need a buff.
