If they did we wouldn't have bugs that persist for years, a great example is the no sound bug on injured/down survivors that arent running iron will.
And most of these issues could be fixed if they didnt follow the "DLC every 3 months" rule by the suits.

I mean, at this point do they need to go the 'A Realm Reborn' route?
A "DBD 2" might come in hand lol

I sincerely doubt it cause if they did, presumably it would be fixed by now. Last gen players are ready to burn the game to the ground in anger (and I assume a bunch are abandoning the game, meaning there goes potential sales) so if they had the ability to fix it, they would have.
I am not a game scientist so I'm sure it's a bit more complicated than just changing a few lines but the game has been a technical flustercuck for a good year now. At this point, this isn't some mild bump in the road, the damn bridge is out and everything is on fire as zombies try to climb in through the window.
Optimization team is basically nonexistent at this point.Cant they atleast hire people who can fix it?

May i ask why is crap to you?

Pennywise? A bit of a stretch.

What I wish for is a mobilty killer who can deal with chases but is still counterable
What we’ll get is another killer who hits over windows and pallets that has no mobility further emphasising the hold W meta
And how do you know that?

I really hope so. DbD has a unique premise, but has many flaws holding it back.
I also worry that better games COULD come out, but that people wouldn't play them because of the licensing DbD has. On top of that, some people are kinda mindlessly devoted to this game, and have, in the past, made a point to poopoo on any competition that is even offered. That kind of fan zeal can kill better games in favor of the worse-but-popular one.
I play many other games, and even when I'm completely outclassed, I feel like I got a fair shake. DbD is one of the only games I play where I don't often feel that. Things are either stacked for or against me, fair shake be damned. I don't like that. If another game came along with a similar premise but felt more fair, I'd hop on that in a heartbeat.
I think you might be having bad luck.But yeah DBD has a loyal fanbase.

Not in its lifetime
After DBD's time is over (Whenever that is) possibly
DBD's a bit of a unique case because it's got cross-overs from Films, TV shows and Games all bundled into one package. Other games do 'cross-overs' and cameos usually in the form of cosmetics but usually not taking the characters from the actual source material and essentially adding them to the game's 'World' so to speak.
Smash Bros, Mortal Kombat and Tekken are in a similiar vein although they are fighting games
This got me thinking.
If DBD isnt topped will it ever die as there is no other game like it?

yeah no really good competitors
FT13 had a little chance.
But that game was horrid and its always Jason so its gonna get boring in a short time.

@ChurchofPig said:
It's possible, but I think it would be extremely difficult because dbd has been around so long and also has so many well known characters in it.
This.
I feel like this is the reason why a lot of the games dont succeed even coming close in competing.

@Ivaldi said:
Just because it doesnt suit your playing style, doesnt mean its a bad map. Personally I love it as a Survivor, the unique style and gameplay options provide an sense of horror when being chased.
I like the map as survivor.Many people already hate this map on both sides.

I'm just glad from what was seen from her lobby animation, her default hair finally moves now. Curious what all of their alternate default cosmetics (like Feng's bun or Meg's bob) are gonna look like now, along with the Head Case DLC.
Yep hair on survivors has been slowly getting better and better.

@Mooks said:
I thought they made changes on the reworks based on the feedback?
haven’t compared the first and second Claudette rework, but didn’t they improve on the hair?
From what ive seen they only changed her face proportions.

@Power_Guy said:
You do realize it's actually covered in the lore?
The Entity makes slices of the 'real world' (or worlds, plural) explicitly for the trials. Why would it make miles of crap no Survivor can get too?
It makes small arenas, blocks them off so Survivors have to power the gates, and then eats their hope. For all we know, this is deliberate for that aesthetic (and it helps cut down on load times by not having 'thick fog' or tons of out of bounds crud to load in)
I know the lore and those buildings there dont look good at all when there are no streets.And they cant make streets because it would be just a waste of time when the players cant even interact with them.It will look better if there was just empty space outside the fences.
-
@Superyoshiegg said:
You want them to render the entirety of Raccoon City? What a petty thing to complain about.
Every map has nothing beyond the outer border. The fact that this map actually has buildings, cars and props outside the map is a first, and much more detail then every other map.
Lmao when did i say i want RC rendered?
-
@Itooshie said:
Arent the all the other maps just suspended on a floating island basically? Why does this make any difference, just because you can see it?
It looks ugly thats it.
It would be better without those buildings.As you said the realms are just a floating island.
-
@IlliterateGenocide said:
yeah that allways ruined the map for me a little (other then the maze that it is) it looks amazing inside but looking past the gates looks gross as heck
Seeing the amount of detail in the RPD Capcom probably only cared for the inside.I also got the impression they were very strict about this whole chapter too.
-
Even if they fixed the game you guys will still complain....
God this community is....i have no words.

This game isn't newsworthy.
Hm, a 5 year old game with a break through in the asymmetrical genre that has almost all of iconic franchises in it is not news worthy.
Ok.

A lot of people are still able to play. I don't think last gen is their priority atm. I know they are trying something but I don't expect a "fix" anytime soon after the last one made it even worse. I hope I'm wrong.
We don't have any other choice but to wait. Some people are still playing despite the issues but some gave up for now, including me. I just log in for shards.
Last gen was never their priority.

I remember the exact same thing being said about the 5th anniversary and the 4th anniversary and the 3rd anniversary and the 2nd anniversary and the-
I remember it too but people have not been THIS angry and dissatisfied at any point is DBD's history.If they keep it up they might start loosing players as competition rises.Its about peoples patience but their patience is running.And i approve of this boycott that is currently happening.We all love this game and nobody wants it to die this is why something has to be done.
-
I am almost convinced they dont know how to fix the frame rate on consoles and all the other major issues in the game.
With all of this new content they probably messed up their spaghetti code and they have no idea how to fix it.
This game needs to be recoded or made on a totally new foundation much more stable than the last one.
But that would mean a DBD 2.
If things keeps going the way they are going this game is most likely not gonna reach a 6th anniversary.
-
Cakes and Bp? Yes.
The event itself? Lol no it will probably be a copy paste from last year.I dont expect anything from these devs anymore with all the things that have been going on for the past week.

I said hate this UPDATE. Didn't say chapter. Wording means a lot person. And also RE3 and REsistance are both very good games so I don't get how they are cash grabs. And I can bring out a bunch of examples on how they care about what the fans think. 1. If they didn't care RE7 would have been another RE6 because that game made a ######### ton of money. 2. RE2 Remake probably wouldn't exist right now but they listened because people wanted it. 3. RE4 Remake would probably not have switched developers if not for the backlash of RE3R. 4. Village didn't have any planned DLC until people asked for it. Now we are getting it. There is so much more. They definitely care about what people think as well as the money.
If anything they are mad at the update.
NOT the chapter.The chapter was good and it was reviewed by them in order to push it to live servers.
Plus it gave them a ######### ton of money.I only see Jills, Leons and sometimes Claires.When the silent hill legendarys were released i only saw like 1 Lisa skin in the span of 5 months.I have seen like 10 RE legendarys in the span of only 1 week.
The Resident Evil DLC became a best selling game on steam weekly charts.The chapter has good reviews.
The update was a flop.The chapter was definitely not.

I miss the old dark atmosphere, the old lobby, the old animations, the old bugs and when our community was small and when we only had our OG survivors and killers.Im glad i joined the game at its very start.
Here are some screenshots that i took in 2016.
-
No.
-
I mean....You can try.
But im not holding my hopes up because you see all those other games that tried?They are all dead now.
But it doesnt hurt to try just know its going to be very very very a million times very hard if you are doing this all by yourself.

None of those were infinite's. You simply played bad.
Dbd is beginning to die alright, but not for these reasons.
How is it dying?
I dont get it we have a stable player base?How is it dying?
If you mean by ''dying'' the game gets worse with each update.Then yes i have to agree with you.

@TricksOTM said:
Unless you have access to the full agreement between Behaviour and Capcom, you are full of ######### sir. People have the right to ask for unlinked sets if they want to even if they're not ######### corporate lawyers.
Why would they remove something that made them money then?
I don't even need access to their agreement.

Im saying don't do BHVR job. They need to answer us not you. If its because Capcom BHVR should come and explain it to us its that easy.
Do you really think Behaviour would fix a glitch that literally made them money?
People buy these sets so they can mix them with other cosmetics and everyone knows that.
They just shot themselves in the foot because of license holders.
-
@Name_Unavailable said:
Im sorry do you know something we don't? did you read the agreement between Konami and Capcom with BHVR? Because we didn't.
If you have a copy of it please share. Because BHVR said nothing about this topic yet.
And what are you saying with this?
-
@JFF said:

Whoever is responsible for the sets is still the one losing potential customers. I think it's still a valid complaint regardless of the reason.
All of this because of a cosmetic?
No i dont think so and its again not Behaviours word on what happens with licensed cosmetics.
-
@gendoss said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2301651#Comment_2301651
Yes I agree, the only people this is hurting in the end is themselves.
Some of their sets are not that good to begin with.If they want money they should hire younger people to create cosmetics.
-
@JFF said:
If they could do it with older licenses, why not with the new ones? I believe it has little to do with licensing itself, but rather it's done to prevent certain parts of the cosmetics from clipping. In the end they're losing money, because sometimes I only like specific part of the set and since you can't buy separate parts, I won't buy it, simple as that.
"If tey could do it with older licenses why not with the new ones?"
Because Capcom is not Konami.And Resident Evil is an active franchise.Mind you.

Do you know how bug fixes work like.....
AT ALL?
Some people really think they know everything when they dont know a single thing.

I want supernatural.
And i know a lot of people want it too.
I does not matter if Dean and Sam are practically gods and can beat the entity with their eyes closed i still want them.

How do you know? Genuine question...
I play on Xbox. Mostly killer. More often than not, I get matched up with 4 cross-play players (they have the globe symbol). How do I know what platform they are on? I'd love to know if I was playing again PC or PS players.
They dont have the feature to show what platform a player is on.

@skylerbound said:
I play on switch but you betcha beehind I’m perma switching to PC once cross progression is enabled(hoping in June)
Sony doesnt allow it.

Do you see how quckly this game fell down?
They used to keep a stable 1k to 2k players a few weeks ago and now they can barely keep a 800.

The only competition they technically have, or what I would consider competition is Hsh, and Dark deception monsters and mortals, especially Dark deception. They literally added three liscenses, Monstrum, SIlent Hill, and three UK content creators ( Dawko, SHB, and 8-bit Ryan) So there is hope, kinda
HSH is not competition and it never was.Its barely keeping itself on its feet.
And lets not even talk about Dark Deception.
-
@DerpyPlayz said:
The lack of genuine competition in a competitive market I think would most strongly be the main reason.
I can not recall many games that are like DBD at all, and those that I can typically make DBD's broken balance seem balanced or have died for other reasons.
Its like GTA5 (ignoring it is piggy backing off of the franchises fame), it started with little but I don't even recall any game that can capture the feel of GTA5 besides saints row and by the time the things in the game are less unique due to clones or mechanical implementation in other games, it already grew to be the super power in that unique genre.
I think this makes alot of sense too because DBD was even less balanced back in the day, so those players who stayed there likely did because DBD had unique features.
Also, we have been doing the same boring stuff every time.Hold M1.I cant wait when the core mechanics get reworked.
