That's killer in general tho. EVERY killer can win but even in the easiest (strongest) examples, like nurse and spirit you still have to work way harder than the survivors. It's not equal effort per reward but killer is ultimately stronger than even perfect survivors.

its a spectrum of how much help your killer needs from you and rng to win, with nurse and spirit just needing skill (and not much in spirits case) on one end and trickster, clown, trapper, and legion being on the other which requires you to both be better and rng, whether it be from the map or survivor mistakes. Also this game favors survivors at the absolute high end, against a perfect team even spirit and nurse would likely lose on most maps.

I don't know how painful it is to play trickster in matchmade games. If you are already a good killer he's very serviceable and you can beat good teams with him. I bet it's harder if you're learning because he is weaker than the rest of the roster, but that shouldn't be what makes or breaks your game.

you have to be significantly better then the team you are up against or get some really good rng

This rift had imo underwhelming rewards and bc its grindy like the last and i did not finish it, i will skip it.

So how many of you bought it? Did you do it bc you finished it anyway and get your auric cells back or did you want a specific cosmetic? Did someone use auric cells to buy rift progress?

If possible i would like no discussion whether the rift is too grindy or not. Imo it is, but i know that many on this forum finish it easily. Im happy that i play enough to earn 18.000 shards between chapters to buy the next chapter with it.

i did not and Ill only buy it if I reach the last auric cells level cause then im basically just buying auric cells with a bunch of free stuff attached, if I dont then I wont buy it.

I personally despise him for the following reasons.

    1) I hate his stupid laugh. It's just annoying.

    2) I hate his creepy pedo face.

    3) His perks are obnoxious.

    4) His knives remind me of old Legion.

    5) Lastly from a killer stand point he's trash.

design wise a lot of people like him, gameplay wise there's probably a handful of masochists that enjoy the pain

  • I mean yeah not saying there isn't but allowing people to just lobby dodge isn't the answer to said problem.

  • @Xzan said:

Just show who is SWF prelobby. And buff solo of course.

So swfs can have century long queues and likely only go against killers using their best add ons, trust me any people who only like to play this game with friends will stop playing. I'm fine with it being shown post lobby and even showing what rarity of items a survivor is carrying in but showing if they are in a swf pre lobby is a terrible idea. I'm a killer main by the way if that's important to you

  • its ridiculous how many things are censored like the game is rated M for adults, I dont think this is a pass for people to see some truly awful ######### like racism or the like but c'mon really cant even drop an F bomb without seeing a bunch of hashtags. It just seems ridiculous to not at least have an off button.

  • Its not really an exploit just desync, and even if they fix desync on some magical day survivors will still be able to bait out hits it just wont be as insanely easy nor will killers just get stuck in the animation sometimes.

  • @RenTheCat said:

And no I don't mean it as a "Wahh they are so mean! they tick the flashlight and teabag!".

I mean they have zero fear, zero worries, you're literally aproaching them wtih the intention of killing them and they won't care. You can approach them while they are doing a gen and they will just laugh it off and keep doing it, specially if they are about to finish it, after all, why would they even worry when they can just use one of the 9999 pallets near them if you hit them or if you hook them someone will just unhook them.

Killers are as scary and threatening in the game as a flower. Hell Survivors will even keep doing gens with no worries even while having deep wounds.

Yeah its a video game, the people who really don't care are the ones who have hundreds or even thousands of hours tell someone to go play any horror game for that many hours and see if they still find the game scary.

  • Ironically going for chainsaws is actually going to make getting his adept harder, going for chainsaws on healthy people will screw your chaser emblem, so honest advice on getting his adept, use his saw for mobility and getting rid of pallets and just be man with mallet. Its gonna suck but trust me from when I used to be a Billy one trick I'd have 12 hooks max points and get a iridescent in every other category and have brutal killer because of a silver chaser emblem.

  • I'd say that because the twins while not the strongest if played correctly can be fairly strong where as demo no matter how you played him he'd never do better then mid tier, also he needed buffs not nerfs or "changes". Twins aren't weak you just can play them normally to get good effect out of them.

  • freddy since his rework has never been a top tier killer, hes always just had a low barrier to play effectively

  • @Lx_malice said:

Legit question for all my fellow red rank players out there. We all know that rank means little to nothing, but let's say, hypothetically, rank was an actual accurate measure of your skill. Do you believe that you would still deserve to be in red ranks? Why? If not then what rank do you think you'd actually be in?

Yeah, I stopped playing for a month or 2 due to some frustrations and so my rank naturally fell, I went back to green ranks and it was bad, like 4k'ing while doing nothing but moving backwards the whole game bad. Even when I got back to purple ranks it was still pretty consistent 4ks, it wasnt till I started going up against red ranks again that got some kind of challenge, sometimes, since you know even when I got back to red ranks I would still sometimes get as low as yellow ranks so you know.

  • when they fix desync, so probably never.

Title. I'm curious too see how some people don't break they're keyboard/controller in half over what this game sometimes throws at them. So what keeps you composed when the game goes south? Whether it's an annoying glitch that costed you a chase, or another player trying to get under your skin?

Personally I tend to just laugh any BS up. And try and see a positive or at the least a logical explanation as to why said BS happened.

You never know, maybe your answer could help a fellow player if they begin to get tilted at the game.

    Cap removal? Disastrous

Farming killers would be favorite killers making literal hour long farming lobbies.

Cap increase? Good idea, but really not the solution needed for the grind

I agree with both points hopefully they increase the cap along with reworking how perks show up in bloodwebs, whether it be removing perk tiers or making it so you immediately get the 1st tier of a perk on every killer when you unlock it from a survivor or killer or some other method.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

Survivors keep spawning right on top of generators, this is becoming a problem. Instead of searching for a gen they can start working on the one they spawned next to ASAP.

survivors also keep spawning next to each other without a shroud offering. You use to need a shroud offering to spawn together but now it happens pretty often you'll always be near someone and you'll also spawn right on top of a generator.

these two factors alone is why gen rushing is so easy spawns need to be changed.

Also doesn't help totems spawn right next to generators which survivors may spawn near so ruin will get cleansed in 10 seconds

I agree that totems should never spawn near a generator unless its super hidden but survivors spawning together is a good thing for the killer, every survivor spawning on a different gen will be a near death sentence against a good team, that's how you get situations where by your first down on a weak killer 3 gens pop.

  • My guess is that while twins is by no means a top tier killer, they do have a very effective one trick strategy to play, which lets be honest is not a very fun method to go against, not saying I agree if that is the reason but I could also see why they wouldn't want players to have to deal with that. End of the day the twins imo need a full rework they are pretty unpopular on both sides, people on the whole don't like playing them and they sure as hell don't like going against them(at least not the good ones that actually abuse their ability to slug and proxy camp).

A new issue that we'll have now is when it's run in tandem with Starstruck - so survivors will be punished for someone else getting caught whether they are close to the Killer (Starstruck) or far away (BBQ).

I think the BP gain needs to be separated from the aura. The two combined make it too powerful, as in as a Killer, you have few reasons NOT to run it. When a perk is being run by the majority of the Killers the majority of the time, something's out of whack.

But the BP aspect of the perk has no impact on gameplay other then its use rate, so it having that almost makes it weaker because people can with a fair amount of certainty always assume the killer is going to have it and thus be able to take advantage of its variety of counters. Take discordance for instance if the same or similar BP mechanic was put on this perk and it became incredible popular then survivors would far less often be grouping up on gens, making the perk essentially weaker because it will be assumed that the perk that has counters will be in play and people will more often take the steps to counter it.

Mettle of Man allows a survivor to take an additional hit in the injured state after earning the endurance status effect. This is earned by first taking 3 protection hits, and then (quite fairly) has a downside if the survivor is ever healed to healthy.

In other words, the devs thought that MoM provides enough of a strong enough advantage that it requires stringent conditions to earn it, and requires a downside if used successfully.

On the other hand, the BS that is Dead Hard, in theory, can be used every 40 seconds, which for all intents and purposes avoiding a hit is pretty much the same as being able to take an additional hit. Oh, and with the additional game breaking benefit of extra distance.

It’s pretty much any chase a survivor is in. They will always be able to use DH once in their chase. Which will be a lot, because in most instances they’ve used it just to get the right amount of distance to avoid a hit AND have reached a strong loop that could keep the killer occupied for another 30 to 60 seconds, meaning it’s (another) chase that needs abandoning.

Compared to other exhaustion perks, the very brief time DH is active, it paradoxically buys a survivor an absurd amount of extra time compared to all other exhaustion perks. It’s simply too strong to remain as an exhaustion perk. It just shouldn’t be able to be used as often as it can. Particularly now that exhaustion add ons are being abolished.

“Oh it’s perfectly fine to cleanse and remove an entire killer perk PERMANENTLY, but cheesus forbid that survivors are denied using one category of their strongest perks...”

For the record, I’m not saying Hexes should be changed. They’re fine. It’s perfectly reasonable that they can be removed from the game.

My proposals for Dead Head is that it should NOT be an exhaustion perk.

    A) Like MoM, it should have criteria that needs to be met to EARN one use of DH in the injured state, and then the criteria needs to be EARNED AGAIN if they want to be able to use DH again in the same trial.

    B) No earning criteria, just have it like DS: it can be used ONCE and ONCE only. Think about this seriously. Could you imagine the outrage if DS wasn’t once only use and it were also an exhaustion perk. Old MoM was broken, but could you imagine if THAT was an exhaustion perk (not requiring the 3 hits first).

    C) Get rid of it as a stand alone perk, keep it as an exhaustion ability BUT amalgamate it into No Mither. This makes No Mither much less of a handicap, and for those WANTING the advantages DH provides HAS TO WILLINGLY take on the disadvantages No Mither provides.

I think that all the exhaustion perks are different enough that they should get individual tweaks like for instance lithe im fine with having a 40 second exhaustion timer, but SB and DH should at the very least have a significantly longer timer

By that logic anyone who plays any game labeled horror long enough will no longer be horror or watch horror movies long enough shouldn’t be labeled horror anymore. So no it’s not silly.

No by my logic people probably wouldn't watch or play a horror game for more then 10 hours which most movies or horror series, which I cant even think of any good ones, are usually less then that. And anyone who's played horror games for more then that can probably agree that a games horror wears off after too much time, unless new elements are introduced which dbd hasn't had a new horror element introduced since it came out really.

  • @Dragonshensi said:

it will just become another competitive esports type game, which I think honestly the devs want. Part of the fun of this game is you don’t know who or where the killer is until he’s on you. You have no clue what your teammates are doing. Are they hiding? Doing gens? Or is the Killer chasing them right now or coming to me? Just like a horror movie. Part of the fun of this game is role playing like you’re in one of your favorite horror films. Surviving against Myers, Freddy, Ghostface, etc.

SWF already ruins the atmosphere of the game by counteracting the horror element. What movie have you seen where the teens are all on comms the whole film updating everyone on where the killer is and what each member is doing. That would be a boring film and result in an ending where everyone just tbags Leatherface and escapes. Solo still kinda keeps the horror element to me where the SWF outright loses it.

If solo is made to where it’s basically SWF then it’s no longer a horror game. Just a competitive esports game with the horror characters guest starring. I hear the counter-argument is to buff Killers alongside SWF but I just think it will still wipe away the element of horror.

Does anybody remember when they first played the game? The terror you felt as survivor and uncertainty of it all? Or the power and fear you wielded as Killer? Once you get into green ranks that fantasy fades and it just becomes a sport to win. I’m not entirely sure what can be done. Put SWF in its own category? Have a separate game mode for competitive? I’m not sure but the way the game is going it’s going to be esports and lose its charm.

the game isn't really horror for anybody that's put more then 10 hours into the game anyways so this seems like a silly argument

  • @xcross said:

You lot are saying to buff solo players, do you not realize that the reason why you all have trouble finding matches is because the killers are dwindling??? I do agree that buffing solos is a right move but you guys are getting the order wrong. It's buff killers then solos, unless all the survivor players are going to step up and start playing killer otherwise stay silent about things you can't even understand. Also note the amount of killers that have to make up this fanbase is approximately 20%. To put this in perspective when 1,200 survivors are playing only 300 killers need to be actively on so there isn't a waiting issue. The fact that servers are struggling to even put you all in a match because of lack of killers must have to tell you something is wrong and no it's not on your side. Seriously can you guys even think critically for a moment? If survivors start to get more buffs you will most certainly lose the killer base and thus the game base. Well this all remains true until bots become available then this will surely change everything.

at this point I dont really care about the order as long as it happens

  • @brubli said:

I see all the time killers who slug survivors just to waste their time or killers who slugged people and just forgot where they left them. Either way I don't see a point as for why survivors should be forced to sit on the ground for 3 minutes doing nothing because the killer can't/won't hook them. Not sure how but the hatch would need to be adjusted for this as many people do slug for the 4k and a bleed out option would remove that option for them. I'm thinking that maybe after 30 seconds or so of not being hooked you can hold down a button to rapidly decrease your bleed out bar. I feel a change like this would be good for the game and save some time. What do you guys think?

I'd be fine with it as long as it isn't instant also if you're crawling into the corner of the map and the killer just gives up trying to find you that's not the same thing, that's on you.

Why do the devs have to cater to swf? Like how much of the population is swf? And when I say swf, I'm talking 3-4 man groups because those are more than likely the ones that will be paired with the top tier killers

because swf is a large part of the player base, and conversely what about those top tier killers having to wait 30 minutes to an hour for a game as well since they have to wait for 4 man who knows what they're doing to queue as well, which lets be honest most swfs don't.

  • @HommeBizarre said:

So a while ago, the devs had this awesome idea to remove the possibility of changing the killer we will play in a match if we found a lobby...

Thing is, why are they forcing us to quit the lobby when we clearly understand that the killer we picked up isn't strong enough against the survivors we are going to face?

I mean an exemple, I pick the wraith. Then the game find me a 4SWF squad... WHY AM I NOT ALLOWED TO JUST PICK THE NURSE ??!!!!!

just lobby dodge if you don't want to play that killer against that team, unfortunately they disabled that feature in the wake of a different feature that hasn't even been implemented yet, but apparently they had to do something to the actual game to disable the ability to change killers while in queue so to change it back theyd have to stick it in a download patch to fix it and they're too lazy to do so

I think there is a better, alternate solution. There needs to be a Solo Que and a Team Que. I think most of us would play in both from time to time, depending on whether our friends are handy or not. It is no different from people who sometimes play Killer and sometimes play Survivor. I think if they had a Team Que the following would be possible:

    1. Unlock a 5th Perk for Killers fighting in the Team Que to offset the 5th Perk (Comms).
    2. If the extra Perk isn't enough, they could consider adding an additional Generator to power the gates.
    3. BEhavior could make some good cash by selling Team cosmetics, i.e. matching jackets, hats, tattoos and so on. I know I want dibs on "Seal Team SWF" for me and my pals.
    4. An existing Team Que means a natural base for Tournaments and Events.

Balancing SWF in this way would be better for all involved, and it would have the added benefit of not strangling the Solo Que. After all, any Perk they throw in to try and slow down the SWF hits the damn Solo Players three times as hard. Killers aren't adverse to taking on the challenge of a SWF if the playing field is level. And if the SWF is really about the fun of playing with friends and NOT the competitive edge, they shouldn't be unhappy with the level field either. To be honest, I'm not sure I believe it isn't about the competitive edge, because friends can play together anytime they want in a custom game. Me and my friends do it all the time.

I just think it is important that we look at this realistically. Every month that goes by there are more and more SWF. The problem isn't going away, it is merely expanding. The growth of SWF is affecting the Solo Players harshly because:

    1. It sucks away a certain percentage of good Players.
    2. 3-Person SWF tend to treat their Red Shirt as an asset, nothing more.
    3. Overall cooperation and team spirit in Solo is at an all time low.

I think in the end, there will be no choice but to separate them into different Ques. Sadly, I think it will only happen when BEhavior is dragged kicking and screaming into it when the problem becomes so bad, slow but sure, that it threatens their livelihood. It is a pity, because I think if they embraced the notion early and did it right, they could make EVERYONE happy and make some nice cash off it too.

I disagree with the amount of people that complain about swf lets be honest those swf que times would be hours for survivors and the solo que would be hours for killers

  • @Mineguy said:

Yeah of course it's tunneling but...is it a point to complain? When you don't have ds but then you decide to confront the killer about tunneling isn't the own vault? When you hate tunneling then you should run ds for that case. Of course it's something else when you don't even have ds in the first chase.

i'd say if you intentionally go out of your way to tunnel you are a bit of a dick regardless of perks. Not saying its against the law or anything but its like camping in cod, completely legit strat but your still a dick for doing it
