Isn't 99ing actually a good thing for killers? It usually means survivors will stay around for more, which by itself means you can still kill them. If you're bothered by it just open the gates yourself.
it allows survivors to completely avoid EGC and once the game gets to that point if you decide to open the gates yourself you would be throwing any chance you might've had, with the slight exception of blood warden.
-
@Lord_Tony said:
the game is already stacked in the survivors favor why give them the ability to 99 the gate?
at least let the gate regress like a generator
to make blood warden easily counter-able and to make sure people don't realize how much of a band aid fix EGC was

I don't understand the whole point of cage of atonement was that it was slightly harder because of skil checks.
now t hat hooks have skill checks why bother with cage?
Yeah ngl bruv the cages using skill checks instead of button mash was in all likely hood just an easy way for bhvr to test if people would like it more then the current system and has nothing to do with the utility of the cages

Such a filter (which appears to be adaptive in nature) can't really be tested outside of a live environment.
Sure but I feel like there should at least be a whitelist of normal things that should never need to be censored, say for instance CHARACTERS IN YOUR OWN VIDEO GAME, maybe, for example.

It was indeed wrong of me to use logic in a forum as biased as this one.
sorry but the argument of "it just psychologically made people maybe sorta kinda sometimes stop tunneling maybe because their was an obsession" is kinda brain dead
-
yeah it's been a pretty ######### year for dbd, not just event wise either, all but blight has been a pretty meh killer for me especially the last 2 trickster and the twins are the only dlc I have zero intention to buy.
-
@Zixology said:
DS was psychological.
I was NEVER an anti-tunnel perk. Still isn't. If a killer wants to tunnel you, DS won't stop them.
The problem is that people THOUGHT it was an anti-tunnel perk. So lots of survivors would use it. Now that it's nerfed, the survivor mindset is "Don't use DS, it's bad now." And lots of killer's mindsets are "No one is using DS, it's bad now."
Now, without as many people using DS, there's more games without an obsession; and the games WITH an obsession will still have tunneling killers anyway because of the new mindset the nerf has given the community.
Even if a killer does get hit with a DS now, they'll realize sooner that 5 seconds doesn't mean much. Scratch marks and blood and sound still exist. And they can still tunnel the survivor. And if a survivor uses it now, they'll notice that it didn't help them, because they're still being tunneled.
DS was never the solution. Now, it's just showing a real problem.
-
You can just kind of explain it all away with the entity MacGuffin like for instance why tf did wraith get invisibility or nurse get the power to teleport their powers have no correlation to their lore or anything
-
honestly none till they clear up all the garbage in bloodwebs i'd say over 50% of the offerings on both side never see any use and many of the BP offerings barely even pay for themselves so until they clean it up a bit then i'd be open to adding more fluff to it
-
we don't it stops nothing

wow I've never seen such a hate boner for my little pinball, I'm gonna be real I just don't see eye to eye with you on almost any of your points

Huntress will get an addon pass soon, so what do you think the effect her new ultra rare will have, and do you think it will be ultra rare worthy? I am somewhat excited to see it.
probably just only 1 shot from a certain distance probably like 20-meters then take off the only 1 hatchet or maybe decrease it by 1

You and everyone else that has said that has missed my point. The point is that you went to hide and there was no terror radius and you started healing and then DS went away and then at any point during that heal the killer comes back looking for you. From there you can commit to the heal or try to run or hide somewhere else and then get found and you get hooked for free because you tried to heal yourself. It is not at all about healing at the damn hook. Its like none of you read or you ignore the parts that go against what you wanna say to counter argue.
so then you're healing close enough to the killer so that they can go for someone else decide to break chase then come back to where he last saw you or got lucky and had time to find you while your were still healing, either your hiding spot sucks or they had nurses this is still on you and not the fault of the perk. I see no world where you self caring and being found before finishing healing is not your own fault

I've pretty much been a Blight main since his release and his collision on specific maps such as Ormond and Swamp has always been clunky. His new collision was suppose to fix issues with him sliding off of things but it honestly has made his problem maps feel even worse and make him a little more clunky on other maps where he didn't have much issues.
I had a really bad game on Swamp last night where I slid off of almost every tree on the map trying to rush into it. Hills on just about every map are more slidy as well. On Ormond, I slid off of more benches and snow piles in a single rush than I did post update.
had a pretty annoying game on yamaoka earlier today, his collision definitely feels worse then before

The old version was almost as bad. I'm surprised that a simple, moderate increase in the number of pallets finally got the community to realise that.
A moderate increase in pallets is kind of a big deal though tbf, the only thing that kept the previous version in check was that even though most of the pallets were very safe, there werent that many of them and once you got rid of them the whole map is basically a dead zone with very few effective vaults or windows.
However with new giddeon if you were to try and break all the pallets normally, all 5 gens would be done before you were done and there would still be some left over.

Or as a company they have decided to ban words which serve no purpose but to harass, degrade, and humiliate other players. So in essence you are right - they are treating some people like children because frankly the behavior these filters are meant to deter are immature and childish to say the least.
exactly I find them hilariously stupid, like seeing a drunk idiot walk into a wall several times after calling some chick a sexist something or other
-
I feel like his flick is fine since you can turn then start the hit flick plus his hitbox when he's hitting is like a 180 degree cone, don't get me wrong I don't really have any strong feelings about j-flicking but I don't think blights base flick needs a buff either

Greetings. The DC penalty is really bringing us down. My wife plays DBD on her laptop, and for this reason or that, she gets disconnected, and then the DC penalty makes it frustrating. It started with a 5-minute ban, but now, it has increased to 15 minutes. The DC happens because of connection issues, not rage-quit. So, we are worried that it may get worse over time. Surely, there is a better way to deal with DCers than this? I understand that the DC penalty is introduced to deter rage-quitting, but people with genuine reasons are suffering because of it. It is especially frustrating because we love the game, yet this penalty ruins the fun. I would love to hear from someone who is working on the game.
Thanks.
PS: Thanks for the replies
the sad thing is that it doesn't do a very good job of deterring rage quitting since now survs will just kill themselves on first hook

It has been a while since the devs have said anything about it, it seemed really cool and everyone was liking it. Can we expect to get it in the mid-chapter patch?
Well it was presented as a possible change they even stated that it wasn't decided on nor had they even done any coding to see if it would even work or not, so I wouldn't expect it at all until they say something about it.
-
Im gonna be real a lot of those things aren't toxic to people who aren't 15 and some of them is just playing the game. This game really isnt all that toxic compared to other games, honestly the forums are a million times more toxic then anything in game

WHEN is this going to be fixed? my ping was at 48 and i got kicked from the game while struggling on hook, only to return to have DOUBLE depipped and now i'm matchmaking locked.
that's fun cool part of the DC penalties that a lot of people said would be a problem if they were implemented, also that it wouldn't stop people who really wanted to dc from doing so and it definitely wouldn't stop people from just killing themselves on first hook. I don't like DC penalties if you couldn't tell.

Later today when i was playing spirit every time my spirit fury would activate and i would get hit with a pallet. I would try to go threw but it wouldn't let me it would its like the rest of the pallet piceces are stopping me from going through. Is that supposed to happen or its a bug?
its bugged so that when spirit fury is active the game will act like the pallet is still there for like 5ish seconds before allowing you to go through, basically its broken right now don't use it

Been here since the very beginning but must lingered around like a weaponless wraith until today,
Im on Ps5 and currently Rank3 (R2 then back to R3) this week, this mainly seems to be due to Face Camping try hard PC killers that wont leave the hook if your unfortunate enough to actually play and not skulk around the map with urban.
Ive literally had about 6 games on the bounce, all killers PC and rank1 and rank2 and their gameplay is just plain nasty toxic and no fun whatsoever. I didnt even realise that facecamping so hard was still a thing (not seen it for a long time) and since Ive made note of the players being Aholes, I have no desire to want to play any of them again if possible.
Seeing the killers MO pre game would be a huge plus, i dont wanna see his rank or perks, just his name so you can make the choice pre game and decide if you continue or not.
Not the most outlandish request to fulfil surely..
If/when they implement MMR absolutely not, the queue times are gonna be awful enough for people at higher MMR and to give people the option to lobby dodge is a horrible idea

generally I agree but ill be honest if I get like hawkins or lerys while playing blight im dcing anyways or if i've already dc'd that day im just gonna go sit in a corner next to the exit gates and wait to open them myself

It being deactivated on self healing needs to be changed to be a full heal. If you've started healing you could yes argue you're not being tunneled but say you start healing and killer decides to come tunnel you now because they see you've been unhooked or see you started healing yourself. You get tunneled for free now and the perk fails you. This wouldn't be abusable either because you still can't do gens without losing it nor heal others.
maybe try not self caring within line of sight of the killer that'd be a good start

No this is really great thank you. I was just very curious about him I can see how it would be frustrating though.
I’ll probably have a play for a few weeks see how I get on I’m starting to get to know the maps well know so it was pretty helpful with him.
is there any builds you would recommend trying?
well there is the basic blight build of bbq, ruin, undying, and tinkerer, its a great build to maximize blights map pressure but if you might get some ######### for it since the build kinda plays the game for you a little bit, though if you do lose your ruin and undying real early it can be kinda rough, if they stay up though gives you a lot leeway to just practice bouncing around. If you hate totems like me though i've just been running bbq, whispers, IF, and pop or switch the IF out for ruin

Does anyone main him I’ve never actually faced him, so I decided to play as him this evening and he seems pretty fun?
Im still learning the game is he unpopular? Is there issues with him?
I've been maining him for awhile, since the Billy rework, and he's a ton of fun but I'm not gonna lie the bugs that he has gets very annoying sometimes so I cant really only play him and the supposed fix to his collision that was implemented did nothing to make his rush and bounces feel more consistent so just get used to sliding off of rocks, cars, trees, or most nonstandard objects.
I don't mean to put people off to him cause like I said he's a ton of fun, has a high skill cap, great map pressure, and can be very strong at certain tiles but he also takes a ton of map knowledge, raw flick skills, and being able to react very quickly to situations so with his difficulty in mind and all the bugs that will happen over prolonged gameplay, he just has a few catches to him that I'd prefer to warn people of before recommending him.

So everyone has been complaining how tunneling has increased after the ds nerf. But then run ds, no? Well, not exactly. And here is why:
Since ds is no longer God Mode, people run it less, so the killer sees there is no obsession so he tunnels. Then you take ds but now he sees the obsession and no longer tunnels. Now ds is a useless perk slot, since you will never get to use it as you are not tunneled.
See what I mean? TL;DR : No obsession, no ds so tunnel. You have ds, there is an obession so the killer no longer tunnels and now ds doesn't have any benefits so you have a wasted perk slot.
so then you're saying that the paradox of the perk is that it does exactly what it's supposed in stopping tunneling. How is that a wasted perk slot?

No billy needs to walk faster, because that's the way you make him viable at pallet mindgames
he's already viable at pallets, not all pallets but he's never been viable at all pallets, nor do I necessarily think he should be he already has a ton of map pressure and if used properly can be very oppressive in chase. Get better at curving before saying he needs to move faster while revving.

NOED is powerful in the fact that most of the time it offers a free kill to the Killer who likely underperformed that match. Unless you're a heavily coordinated SWF which aren't nearly as common as some may say, you will rarely break all the totems in the map or sometimes even be unable to find the Hex Totem once it spawns.
NOED unfairly punishes solo queue while unfairly rewarding bad play, and that's why it should be changed.
Im aware of its strengths but I dont consider a single kill a win so using a perk to secure a loss isnt my thing

When someone shared a tweet that the devs already announced they are looking into Trickster, it just piles on the evidence of how killer sided the game is and who they listen to first and foremost. Out of all of the tunneling, camping, and posts of how bad the survivor side is and the only thing that can be said is: “We are buffing another killer”
How is it possible Trickster is being buffed before buffing survivors? The last 10 matches I played in was utter failure, against forever Freddys, Spirits, tunneling Ghostfaces, and a Wraith that waited for you to heal and then tunnel. This is horrendous. Nothing but oppressive perks winning the game after game. Survivors are so extremely weak with no chance to win and here we are with another killer buff coming. A killer that has a power like Legion and Huntress all together in one. The only people complaining about Trickster are killers that haven't learned him yet or not getting an ez 4K. It should be acknowledged by the devs that survivors need some buffs, in maps and perks. Killers shouldn't be winning as much as they do so easily.
you do know that the game is survivor sided when a team knows what they're doing right? most killers that understand the game know that most teams are just solo queues who aren't that organized and as such waste a ton of time. Also the devs dont listen to anybody but themselves.

The only change to the base kit was the overheat mechanic, though. You shouldn't be up against that limit much without engravings and he plays exactly the same until you hit that limit. Still, the add-on nerf was undeniably a nerf. The red rank Billies before were mostly running fast saws and such, but now those add-ons don't exist. His pick rate was higher in the past, yes, but so was his kill rate. In late 2019 he was picked about 8.5% of the time (3-4% above average) at red rank and had a kill rate of ~77% (5-10% above average). In late 2020 he was picked about 3.5% of the time (~1% below average) at red rank and had a kill rate of ~70% (~2% above average).
His pick rate was likely so high before because he was insanely strong with the right add-ons. He was very narrowly behind Freddy for the highest kill rate in the game at red rank. It makes sense that his pick rate would drop now that his add-ons have been nerfed. I don't think the overheat is nearly as big of a factor in his performance hit.
ill be honest I doubt Im so unique that as someone who never ran add ons and still dropped him that im the only one who dropped him because of the overheat. Ill also note that the new VFX that was added with his rework was also very annoying, but everyone always says that his overheat rarely even comes into play yet pretty much every game after his rework I was actively choosing not to use his chainsaw because otherwise i'd hit his limit which is highly annoying to just have wait and play like normal m1 killer till my overheat goes down. Not sure if I just played differently then most but again hes not as fun as he used to be both with and without add ons.
-
i've heard it but from what i've seen its such an low number as to be imperceptible to the point of not even being sure its actually a thing and I dont know if its been confirmed by the devs or not
-
before his change i'd say wraith after his buff i'd now say its trapper by a landslide
-
With a side of map offerings
-
I dont see any reason to give a twitch streamer a hard time or anything, they're usually just trying to have a good time and make content. Ill pop in after the match sometimes and watch the match from their perspectives since I like to see how people react to what im doing
-
billy just needs to have his overheat removed
-
I want it to be changed for the simple reason that people wouldnt complain about it as much, personally I dont even think its that good of a perk, kind of a crutch/second chance perk that doesnt even work till endgame, not my favorite type of perk, I prefer perks that can be used all game not just after all the gens are done.
-
i'd say that DH and SB need some nerfs but the rest are mostly fine.
-
honestly couldn't care less now that ds has been nerfed
-
I like zoomin
