Isn't David like a cannon fighter? So clearly it'd be Jane. (jk don't kill me)
Also, @Poweas be nice to yourself. :c I'm sure you're very funny.

This has been a thing on console since forever. It got slightly better with the most recent patch but it's still a problem. If you are on console you just have to get used to it. If it's really bad maybe uninstall/reinstall.
@thesuicidefox I'm on PC. Turning down the graphics have seemed to help, but it kinda feels like it's gotten worse.

No one else has experienced this?
-
It'd be easier to tell with recorded gameplay.
-
Was the killer in front of you when you started the animation of coming out?
-
I didn't think of the deaf being able to use Spies to counter lack of hearing. I hope they revert the changes. :/ Just get rid of the explosion sounds and it'd be far less annoying imo.

I never viewed it as toxic.
I told you how i see it, i don't speak for the general community.
Speaking for myself again: If that's considered toxic, i'm worried about the general community.
@Boss Oh, I was under the impression it was. That's why I've never said ggez before 'cause I don't wanna be toxic.

Wish they had some distance in my matches too, atleast I would be able to unhook the people with BT, but nope. Hardcore face camping :')
@JoannaVO make sure to @ people. Quoting them doesn't notify them anymore. Hoping the fix it soon.
I had a killer face camp me and another person he caught 'cause someone took out his ruin at the start of the game. He was also being salty about a perk I was using, which was hilarious.

You have been told incorrectly, here is a thread about it
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/393172#Comment_393172
I use it for people who lagswitch, are awful in post game chat (stuff like ######### or the R word), or like facecamp. Also Franks Mix Tape. I play the game for fun and if they banned people for using MLGA they would have no Fog Whisperers, and they would ban over half the veteran players. Plus it let you see their ping reliably.
@No1TheLarch It was a mod that mentioned I could get in trouble if the game detects it I think, though I think they said it was currently undetected or something like that. I'll look at the thread, though. Thank you for the advice.
-
My issue with it is that it's often treated as a band-aid fix for weak killers (Freddy for instance). People often use it in higher ranks to help secure a hook or two, but you can usually work around it. Get the totem or sneak around while the killer is elsewhere. It's more like adrenaline, really, imo and while it sucks when it goes off, it's something they use to help the user if end game comes. It's just a different build, like an end game build. Survivors have end game builds, too. And it isn't like it'll always go off or will always be useful to the killer.
-
@No1TheLarch said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/54719/an-increase-in-toxicity
Yeah killers have been playing like scumbags more recently, but theyve always over camped and tunneled and BVHR has mechanics that reward this (dyling light, no BP penatly for tunneling). Honestly just MLGA block them and move on.
@No1TheLarch I was told that MLGA could get me banned if they detect it. I don't really want to block someone if they have a bad day, too. They may usually be nice.
EDIT: I saw your edit. Some of the killer portraits are survivor mains and some are 50/50 killer and survivor. I was just wondering if people were experiencing what I was experiencing.
-
@Spicybarbecue Do you mean you can lose a pip or do you mean you black pip while killing everyone? I agree that they need to adjust the pipping requirements for both. They're basically killing solo survivor, too, with this change since coordination is important to pip. If your team is weak, you'll likely depip. If you get bad killers, you'll likely not pip, too, and with how the match making is, sometimes you get people way outside your range. I usually stay up in the red ranks and I don't like feeling like I'm bullying newer players. Same for when I get a random rank 14 killer.
@NathanExplosion Because DS was unfair before. That's what I mean when I say "declawing." I'm thinking it may be because of the emblem changes that are making killers more mean or maybe even match making. I'm not sure. They need to adjust both imo. Feels like I'm facing a bunch of children who are salty whether they win or lose, though.
@RoKrueger Neas can be that way. :c
@Master Sorry you're getting death threats.
-
Either they need to give a BP bonus for the hard mode (boldness would be a good option) or it needs to be treated like a normal perk and tweaked so it's less obvious. Killers get BP bonuses when they have a hard mode (Wraith's terror radius doesn't hide, Billy doesn't one-down, etc.).
-
Then why do you think they're being toxic and awful after what is essentially a massive declaw to survivors? @NathanExplosion I'm not even someone who used DS, but I've gotten camped and tunneled multiple games in a row. Everyone's returning to down the injured again and to add salt to the wound, they're being rude and toxic in end game chat. I didn't see anything like this before the update and two major things happened recently. It's either one thing or the other.
-
Maybe they didn't like farming and were offended you asked? I wouldn't ask a stranger on the other team to do something for me. It's technically against the rules, too.
-
@DudeDelicious I think killers being rude and salty is annoying me more than the ranking itself, though. It's like someone took their candy. xD;
-
@[Deleted User] said:
@fluffybunny i meant after the update too. Killers aren’t yet adapting to the change. That’s not an excuse for them to be trashy though.
@DudeDelicious I figured killers were having issues with the new emblem system, too. I'm glad survivor was made harder, though it's been made too hard and it's entirely possible to get stuck in ranks since your emblems seem to be heavily influenced by your team and the killer. The new match making system seems to screw over solo players more than anything else since the people you play with are likely not to be solid due to the random ranks pulled in or being stuck in a rank that you don't belong.
-
I legit have friends who'd only play survivor in SWF and that was before all the nerfs and the match making update. Solo is so much worse than it was before. You're likely to get thrown in with random ranks and with how the emblems are, you get stuck in a rank if your team is bad.
-
@NeaJovovich said:
Usually, when Killers act this way, they are taking out their frustration after they got a spanking from a SWF group. Happens all the time.
There've been times where I almost brought a nasty loadout for my Hag after getting my butt whooped by SWF but I decided against it. I'm glad I did cuz every round after a spanking didn't play out like the last one, it was more "even" if you know what I'm saying.
Yeah, I know what you mean @NeaJovovich I've felt similar, though I try not to take it out on people who don't have it coming. I find that just breeds more toxicity.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Sounds like they were being a baby. It’s their own fault for not anticipating DS might be equipped if they’re going to immediately tunnel someone rescued from a hook
@DudeDelicious What I meant was it's been like this since the update. It wasn't nearly this bad before.

There has already been "MoM is OP" threads and the perk isn't even out lol.
-
If you're literally inside the survivor, you can get the token. You can also get one for being hit while healing (though if you go down while doing so, I don't think it counts). It's honestly easier to get the token by taking a hit while the killer is carrying someone.
-
Killer was probably slow and thought he was playing against a SWF and not a team of randoms, not that that warrants that sort of behavior. Killers have been much more tunnely and rude as of recently. I had someone roast me 'cause we got the Game map. Somehow he caught us all because we were "running" too much and not because the map was a killer friendly map and he was still tunneling people on a killer friendly map. The fact that we got so close to the gates being powered is an testament to his skill, honestly.
There have been like no nice games recently. Before the update, you'd run into the occasional nice and friendly killer who didn't just talk down to you or roast you. There's been an increase in DCs ('cause of course) and none of the killers I've faced showed any sort of understanding or mercy. Some even continued to tunnel off hook, which is... lovely with only three people. The game isn't MEANT to be played with just three people at the start. It should kick you to lobby if someone can't connect. Especially if 2 can't. There isn't any hope in those situations. It's just bull crap.

Same. Clem would always get out. @ClogWench

A teammate farmed my in solo play and the killer spared me after downing me, looking at me before running off to get the other person, allowing me to get picked up. I know it sounds small, but most typically take advantage of any lead they can get and it was just really nice. I ended up dying at the end, but I made sure to thank him for his act of mercy.
Also back when I first started playing, a piggy stayed with me until I could get the hatch. I wasn't expecting her to drop me at the hatch. xD I wasn't the last person. She just felt like being nice and it was really sweet.
-
Well, I'm thinking of a certain build that's already quite frustrating to deal with and it would also be making an awful map for survivors (The Game) somehow even worse for anyone who happens to have an exhaustion perk. With how it is now, Exhaustion is fine and fair. They changed it so that it wouldn't go off multiple times during a chase.
If you're stealthing near to a killer, you're more likely to be anxious than randomly tired out of no where, anyway.
-
I didn't think about it before, but they do look rather similar.

:( not pointing fingers at you mate. If that's true (assuming it is) they should add a colorblind setting. If you haven't already, try to bring attention to it.
They have tried bring attention to it. I've seen posts where people were discussing the issues they had while playing and on certain maps.
-
With small maps, you'd be screwed (like the game) with a killer with distressing and a large terror radius. I don't know if I think this is a good idea.

Take them to the strongest loops. Waste as much time as possible. You can equip Adrenaline if you're confident in your looping. SB helps gaining distance if tunneled off hook. DS can help if you go down immediately and DH can help give you time, too (don't use SB and DH together). You could also use perks to help you know if the killer is coming or sees you. Prem lets you know where they are and Spine Chill helps you know if the killer is looking at you.
How exactly are you being tunneled? Is it off hook or is the killer coming back for you once BBQ procs. If the latter is occurring, you could bring along Distortion or get into lockers to counter the perk. Are you running into a killer after another survivor brought them to you? You could run bond and stealth away when someone starts to run your direction. Additionally Iron Will can help you be quiet while even in pain and a lot of killers use noises to tell them where someone is. Urban Evasion can help you stay low to the ground while still going quickly, though I personally wouldn't Urban Evade everywhere. It wastes a lot of time.
EDIT: I personally always bring Bond to help with people taking the killer to you. It's good information, regardless. Bond, Iron Will, and Spine Chill could be helpful to avoiding the killer or at least knowing when the killer is coming. Iron Will is good for stealthing while injured. Many will move on if they don't hear the person injured.

I run SC even when in swf since I never know what type of group I'm getting they could be going meme builds, drunk off their rockers etc. I've only run Adrenaline 3x in the last 6 months and that was all last night.
The 1st two times because i was asked to, I died to a camping tunneler 1 game, got out somehow another game. In both games it never really helped me probably because i don't run it and thus don't play with it in mind.
The 3rd game I was solo and forgot I had it and got killed early due to a sandbagging teammate. I'd love to not have to run SC but given the ahem quality of teammates at times it's a must.
@powerbats I typically opt to run Bond instead of SC. I can go without SC (and generally do). I can't go without Bond, even in SWF groups. People bring the killer to you even SWF and it's good for coordination and information. SC is helpful in cases where you need to heal on your own (two people left, etc.), but I just have found other perks that help me far more than SC does.

What are we talking about?
-
We would need an option to blacklist killers, then, and people have said that shouldn't be a thing since people would abuse it.
-
Wouldn't that make it so that the hatch won't open in the cases where it was a 3 vs 1 with 5 gens?
-
@Master said:
God prevent that there are counters to survivor perks
Tunneling? You mean when survivors repair gens to 100% without switching them?
http://www.quickmeme.com/img/50/506b976da3e0771f469385a9b22e88e37fab67cc0ab9ec66c64279ba0ea7d757.jpg
It's almost like killers don't want survivors to do their objective. @Master Survivors can't tunnel a gen. That would be like tunneling a hook. Do killers tunnel hooks? No? A more apt comparison is to compare tunneling to looping the killer in strong spots.
-
@Maximus7 @Caretaker When I'm talking about hitting over objects, I'm talking about arching it so that it hits right next to it where the Huntress usually can't. You can also spray and pray with the Plague, which you can't do with the Huntress. I thought she was fair during the PTB. If the speed reduction makes her so much harder to play, then (as I said before) I'd be up for her getting her speed back while she held it. I wasn't aware she got a speed reduction while holding her vomit (other than the initial one). I'm just not sure if it's the case of people not knowing how to play her and being quick to call her bad 'cause you're trying to play her a certain way and it isn't working. I don't think she's as weak as you guys are saying she is.
-
@JoannaVO said:
Kindred shouldn't be basekit. Survivors gotta grow the common sense of working on generators instead of all three going for the hooked person.
@JoannaVO I'm saying it should be base-kit 'cause the thought behind it is to buff solo survivors up to SWF and then give killer counters and tools to address both. If you give killer tools and buffs to address SWF, it put solo players at a disadvantage and makes it rather unplayable. Besides, you often get scenarios where two people are on a gen while one person is being chased 'cause they don't realize the killer is on someone. The person on the hook goes to second stage because of this, which is unlikely to happen in SWF 'cause you can just tell someone to come for you or that no one's coming and someone's being chased. Solo play often puts you in a weaker spot compared to SWF and we're expected to bring along perks to help us in Solo play that we wouldn't need to bring in a SWF, essentially wasting 1~2 perk slots, depending. It should be the opposite way around since SWF has the benefit of comms.

My whole point being, I've already switched targets, I've already hooked another guy, and even injured a third one, when I downed again the first one. Why should I eat the antitunneling perk?
At this point just give unhooked guys i-frames for a minute, and don't let them interact with gens, chests, other survs except for healing, etc. I know it sounds really dumb. It is dumb.
As dumb as trying to force a slug or a stun if I'm actually NOT tunneling.
The scenarios I described several times now happened to me as Trapper and Wraith. Not exactly the most pressure inducing killers. The question is, why should I lose whatever pressure I may put on survs, if I already went out of my way to actually not tunnel?
Billy and Nurse are already guys that pressure the whole map effectively, even with DS not affected by enduring, survs are all the time in their toes, so no big difference in my eyes.
I now even agree on the stun timer not being affected by enduring, just please don't punish non-tunnelers. Especially non-mobile killers.
@Condorloco_26 I understand where you're coming from. I just don't think there will be a way to implement it without giving an unintentional buff to killers who can easily down a second person before picking up the person they're tunneling. I've seen people run to get an unhooked and the killer downs the person saving and picks them up just for them to eat a DS. That whole scenario isn't good imo.
-
Do you have pictures of the game's Emblem screen? You should be getting higher emblems for the 2 hooks on everybody. It could be a bug or an error, maybe?
-
@se05239 said:
I've used it a few times to try it out now when it has been reworked and I must confess that those games I've gotten to use it, I've survived. It does help a lot.
@se05239 I haven't been able to use it yet. I didn't get the DLC before because it was before the change and I felt the perk was mean to killers. I've noticed a slight increase in tunneling (not sure why), so I could imagine it being helpful in scenarios where you're being tunneled. I like that they changed it into something more like Unbreakable. Slugging and tunneling are both tactics a killer can use.
-
He's strong in the right hands.
-
why does the most productive person have to be found by the killer first? and get chased first?
A person working on a gen is more of a threat than someone afraid in a corner. Bond is a nice perk, especially with randoms. Let's you know what people are doing. It's good information. You can use the perk to see people hiding and go over to get them to follow you to a gen or just follow them around.
