  • When I don't use DH until the end, it's 'cause I forgot I put it on my build or didn't time it right and was downed before using it. Not that complicated.

  • Yeah, I've had really good games where I didn't pip at all.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Yea I just saw that video.

I had been thinking they need to increase the stun time, but now I think they need to make Enduring only apply to pallet stuns. Making it apply to stuns universally makes it stupidly powerful.

@thesuicidefox I'd be okay with it if it the stun time was as long as it was before. DS was so strong because it could be used without any conditions and there was wiggle DS, which wasted way too much time.

Also I'm not getting notified when people post on my threads. -w- How did they break it even more?

  • Wraiths a good boy.

I am using Overcharge, BBQ, Predator, and Spies currently. I don't have all the perks, though.

  • @Poweas said:

    No. Enduring makes it useless.

@Poweas Why didn't they keep the old times and just make it so that it only was active for 60 seconds after the unhook?

  • @SpiritFeng said:

Being at green and purple ranks, its possible to meet a red ranked killer and it happens often. The matchmaking is broken.

I've seen people say as a red rank, they've been paired with rank 15~20. Yes, it's broken.

Also the only games I've pipped past rank 10 were all 4 man SWF.

  • @Saint_Ukraine said:

    @fluffybunny

Yeah, that's what makes BBQ & Chili so good. You just have to hook everyone, which is easy, because it's your objective anyways.

    @Saint_Ukraine

You're bound to get at least 3, easily. If you tunnel or camp you won't, obviously, but it's expected if you do those things. With hooks/blocks, you can easily be denied them and I personally don't feel comfortable farming. Sometimes killers don't catch anyone until the end, too. It's all very dependent.

  • @Saint_Ukraine said:

    @fluffybunny

Obviously, there should be a mute button accompanied with the system.

Yeah, you should be able to mute specific people. @Saint_Ukraine

@fluffybunny I used to get rank 1 even when i first played the game, if this system stays its definitely not gonna happen anymore. I'm already down to rank 6...not that i really mind, less try-hard killers for me

@Mat_Sella Yeah, I don't really mind the current killers I'm seeing tbh. Just think it's weird to not pip after having a good game where I escape, but in most cases I still get quite a bit of points.

  • If anything, we could use with WGLF applying to more things like healing, etc. You're unlikely to get all your stacks unless you're following the killer around.

  • @legion_main said:

I’ve been pipping but hardly it’s real hard to get up there now maybe that’s a good thing though

@legion_main I've heard from others that whether you pip or not is dictated by your team, though, and you're unlikely to get past certain ranks depending on variables like bad teams and bad killers. Are you talking about pipping as survivor or killer, btw? I haven't had too much of an issue pipping as killer.

  • *survivor spam flashlight and tea-bag* https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/719/F5R847PSBU9P.gif

    *LF chainsaws while walking backwards*

  • People are afraid they're going to hear high pitched, annoying kiddos screaming in their ears and they just haven't worked out anything otherwise. At this point, I'd honestly be okay with giving in game comms a chance. At the very least, text alerts would be nice. We could buff solo to the level of swf and give killers tools to deal with both rather than being worried of inadvertently having a massive negative affect to solo while dealing with swf.

  • @ChesterTheMolester said:

    Do i know you?

@ChesterTheMolester You have brothers, it seems.

@ChestertheMany Imo the ranking system is a bit too hard. Like if it stuck to how difficult it is to rank and pip at rank 11 for instance, that would be fine enough. I've had successful games where I didn't pip (but almost did) and it's so frustrating to see a nearly every single time. Something's off.

  • @Kurisataru said:

I just started playing this on pc from ps4. I've only had like 5-10 (I think) pc games on dbd so far and when this new thing came out I was on rank 17 I think. I dunno if I should've pipped by now because I wasn't caring about pipping at first. But no joke, if running the killer into my teammates and farming them is what it will take to get me out of playing with these ranks then i unfortunately will do it. It's tough for me to be a solo survivor with new amigos. I need to get back to my 10-12 survivors. Otherwise I will just switch to killer main for a bit.

@Kurisataru Are you having troubles pipping past 17? I thought they made the higher ranks easier to pip past.

  • @dnj510 said:

I haven't played SWF in a while so I've mostly been playing solo, which adds to the frustration.

I made it to rank 4 before the 2.6.0 update and I haven't left it, yet. Let's just say, out of 20 survivor matches, 80% have been safety pips, 19% have been pips, and the other 1% I have lost a pip. It's easier to pip the lower in rank you are with this new system but when you get to the red ranks, it gets much harder. In the red ranks, they expect you to have a great match every time in order to rank up but we all know getting a great match consistently isn't realistic.

@dnj510 I wasn't sure if it was easier if in a SWF group or not. They have the benefit of coordination ("Killer is camping!", "No one's coming", etc.) and you'll know each other's perks, weakness, etc. It feels like they just made it harder for people to pip outside a SWF group. I've had multiple good games, but it seems to end with a black pip and just barely missing the pip. I'm honestly surprised anyone has made it up past 10 with how fussy the ranking system is now. You like have to do most everything. Pretty sure there's only room for one or two pips on a team and I've had games where I didn't pip, despite escaping.

  • @PastelBread said:

Pipping up as survivor is ungodly. Out of the 30 or so games I have played in the past few days as survior, I have pipped up once. :/

@PastelBread What rank are you? I'm currently rank 10 and keep bouncing between 10 and 11.

  • I've also noticed the birds don't always go off. I'll see it go on cool down and get no notification whatsoever. Couldn't they just turn it into a blip without noise and revert it?

  • Survivors don't only DC because they're losing, though. I mean, I suppose it's still considered losing if you would include being body blocked someplace until you DCed in that category. Giving extra points for DCs would be giving the wrong message. It'd be better to just punish it harder and reshuffle if the survivor DCed/didn't connect early into the match.

  • I saw someone else post that they can't get past certain ranks. Like the pips are influenced by how good your team and killer is and if you have a potato killer who takes 3 gens to catch one person and tunnels them off hook, no one's pipping and probably depipping. I've had multiple occasions where I was close to pipping and haven't. Two of my emblems were nearly the next up (very close to the next little dash comma thing), but since they weren't on the mark I didn't gain those points so to speak. I've been stuck at rank 10.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

Strategically speaking, it is wiser to pick a character that is smaller and darker so as to be harder to see *cough*Claudette*cough*. But lots of survivors give exactly 2 craps about being hard to see. Just look at all the colorful cosmetics and how often they are used as proof. With all that said, I like the fact that she is overweight more from the perspective that overweight people are largely under represented in video games.

Survivors are strongest while they're looping. If you catch someone while they're hiding, it often means a free hit and even a down. Besides if a survivor spends so much time stealthing and hiding, they're not doing objectives nor are they being chased. If they're doing objectives, they're often doing them slower.

My english is not perfect, sorry.

What I meant is the usual offender gets a taste of his own medicine, by the actions of others. And then stops offending.

A bully stops when someone beats his ass, or gets punished.

Sometimes, though sometimes not. You have to realize a lot of people who hurt people are hurt themselves. It's the thought of spreading good. If you spread bad, bad stuff will spread. If you spread good, good stuff will spread. It's all about how you want to approach the matter.

  • This would be easily exploitable. I've had matches where people added and had me join a call after we entered the lobby. Others where I just happened to run into someone I was on a discord with, so we joined a call. Just because you're solo doesn't mean you're solo.

  • Yeah, I don't know how I feel about the new ranking system. It may be too early to tell, but I've had multiple games where I was the person saving everyone and I escaped. On the side, I did a little bit of gen work and a little bit of chase (but probably more stealth) and I didn't pip. I black pipped. I've had so many games that were so close to that gold or iridescent and so close to a pip, but just slightly off so I didn't. I've typically been getting a good amount of BP, though.

Not exactly. Normally, when an eye-gouger gets his own eye gouged, he stops eye-gouging others.

In that phrasing, you would respond to a poke of the eye with a poke to their eye, not poking your own eyes.

  • @Yamaoka said:

I tested something today. I let my friend play (inexperienced dbd player) because she wanted to try the new killer. When the survivors won all of them would dance at the gates, hide in the map, do 360s, teabag, point finger etc.

After that game the same survivors joined the lobby so I played instead of my friend and I picked insidious Leatherface and camped at 5 gens nodding my head and messaged all of them "gg ez" after winning in like 3 minutes. NONE of them replied. 2 of them rage quit so I reported them on top of that. Fun times.

What I'm trying to say is: If you camp them and they're nice and say gg they probably think "better be nice or he'll facecamp you all the time".

Also survivors now have no actual free escape perk anymore. The new decisive strike does NOTHING if you run enduring which I do all the time. With enduring it's kinda fun to get d-striked because the stun animation is so fast and short. In fact it wants me to get d-striked. I like the new decisive. Makes tunneling hella fun. Thanks devs! 😂

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

  • Either it shouldn't affect DS or the stun needs to be the old times.

And have people been courteous in the chat as well?

People have been pretty chill from what I've seen, but I'm stuck at rank 10 so I dunno how it is for higher ranks. Every time I get a pip, I get tunneled the next game. xD; I'll say I haven't had any toxic SWF teammates chewing me out for being a dumb random and blaming me for why they died since the update, though. So, that's always nice! :D

  • I've noticed it, too. They make like a gasping noise and then their grunt. I'm not sure if it's intended or a bug, though.

  • I've been tunneled and black pipped. You definitely won't pip, though.

  • This could go in fan creation, I think.

    That's a fair hypothesis.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/376712#Comment_376712

I know, right? I've been getting more and more survivors near my area (hell, even from my own country!), and they've usually been pretty chill.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/376715#Comment_376715

Does that really surprise you? Unbreakable is the same way.

Mine have been somewhat of a mixed bag. I've had multiple games where I've been tunneled throughout most of the match (like 3~4 gens worth) and haven't been pipping much, but that's nice too in a way. I like that they've made it more difficult to pip. It's fun when you have a really tense match and you pip. ^^ Feels rewarding in a way and with how the new system works, the game needs to be (as someone else put it) a long and healthy match where the killer was able to get multiple hooks and so on.

  • Could be the lobbies, too. Everything from the rank to who I'm being paired with seems different.

  • 2k is a drop in the bucket for shards and the rework was well needed and well deserved. It could turn around the game massively just by being present and that's an issue. Something as strong as escaping and stunning the killer should be situational. It shouldn't be the type of perk that can be used on a whim. If the killer is waiting out your DS, she is wasting a lot of time. That's the point of the perk. If they choose to slug, they're wasting time. If they pick you up, you get to use the perk. Maybe pair it with unbreakable (many already did that before) or no mither for future reference.

Now it's on par with something like Unbreakable. It may even be like Adrenaline. Someone in a match of mine had Deliverance and DS and when they got themselves off, the killer downed them and they were able to get out thanks to that perk. You just need a different build than what you're used to if you want to use the perk efficiently now, probably not perks your used to having, but it's honestly more fun to mix and match than rely on the same four every time.

  • It's probably a bug. It wouldn't have acted like you got it otherwise.

I'm making this suggestion for the reason I said in the OP. Don't try to make this more than it is. I appreciate the rest of your feedback.

Then was the point to make them more of a solid objective for survivors? I may be missing something.

Info from speedtest. I think something really is wrong with my connection, but i don`t know what to do.

I haven`t played any killers but the plague since yesterday. This bug appeared only today.

Speed test should have told you if it was fast or slow. What did it say it was?

  • I lagged out of a match and got put in scoreboard screen. It says I dced and killer dced but my swf group escaped.

The leniency on DCs is for this reason. You won't get in trouble for accidentally DCing a few times. Was the room red when you guys joined up? Sometimes it's best to settle for nothing but yellow. I have had matches where the red ping was playable (though very laggy), but in most cases it ends up with someone not connecting or someone DCing in game. There's no shame in asking your friends to leave so that you have better connection.

  • Totems aren't objectives. The dull ones are only good for point fodder and nothing else. I'm guessing you're making this suggestion 'cause other people are requesting for another objective (such as gathering gas cans) that are mandatory. The issue is that breaking totems would be yet another activity where survivors had to hold down M1. They would have to find all the totems, but that could be difficult. Some people have troubles finding generators and nothing would stop killers from bringing it along against survivors who are newer. If you wind up on the Game or another map with strong totem placements, you're screwed, too.

Though alternatively it could make a meta where end game is the most important, which would be interesting. I'm not sure. Like imagine if everyone was running end game builds.

  • @JAWS_BDSM said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/376222#Comment_376222

So, i was playing only plague. They usually all dropped when I found one of them and started the chase. In the last match they all dropped in the middle of the match, when 3 gens were already done and I wasn`t chasing anyone.

Should mention, that It all is similar to that bug, when a survivor did many flashlight clicks at a time and all survivors dropped.

When I played as a survivors (against the pig, although) after I escaped I got notification that "Lost connection to the host". I think, that the problem could be on my side, yet I don`t know how to make sure that it really is.

Has this occurred with any other killers or just the plague and was there anything leading up to them all disconnecting? It sounds more like a bug to me. Are you losing connection on multiple games or has it been an on and off sort of thing? I would say to check your connection with other sites. When I google "Internet Speed," it shows me how well my Internet speed is. Other than that, I'm not too sure.

  • Now it's an anti-tunneling perk. It's to counter going down again immediately and it isn't possible to juggle the survivor anymore. DS before was way too strong. It could completely throw the game for killers, especially if there was more than one DS. Time is generally more of a pressure to killer. If they waste time, they'll lose without a doubt and chasing someone who's just going to strike out isn't good for killer games. It's even worse if you're taking someone to a hook and the struggle DS you. You waste way too much time. How it is now is fair.

You may have paid money for it, but you can buy DS in the shrine. It appears in there every so often. You literally didn't need to spend actual money on it. Laurie isn't the only one you get, either. You get Michael, too. Regardless, if you'd really spend as much as it costs on a single perk, I dunno what to say to you. Maybe you should work on saving your money.

  • Maybe a little bit of context. What killer were you and did you find anyone? Was anyone missing? If it was on you, I don't think you'd get BP, but did your internet go out or anything?

  • I don't mind the pipping changes. It should be harder to get pips and to rise up in the ranks. It feels more rewarding when you actually have to work for it and give reasoning behind why someone's the rank they are.

  • Yes this thread is useless but I want attention again

    lmao They're aware.

  • They probably have perks that benefit them while they are injured and want to use them before healing. People was sometimes 99 themselves when the have Resilience, for instance. Sometimes people will do it because they have DH and they wanna get it off before healing full and looping more.

  • If someone has in their name that they're gonna DC for a certain killer, they should get punished for that. DCing is against the rules, after all, and them having that in their name is basically admitting to breaking the rules. It's like someone posting something they stole on Facebook, admitting that they stole it on video.

  • Well, it's harder for survivors to pip.

  • It's as others have said. You gain a pip for healthy, long games where the killer gets a chance to hook everyone multiple times without tunneling/camping and so on. Most games aren't that way, though, so you're going to find yourself black pipping through many games. It's too soon to judge yet, but I'm personally glad they've made it harder to pip.
