I used to main Meg until I got the Halloween DLC... Meg is the girl you start with until you find someone better

My first character was Claudette for self care. Second was Nea, I think, third Meg, and now I'm maining Kate. x3

  • @NathanExplosion I don't think you should discount some else's experience and perception just because it's not your own. Like when you said "Huur durr BoTH SiDe aRe EqUalLy TuXIc," I don't entirely agree with that sentiment. It's true a lot of survivors are toxic, even to other survivors, but some killers are toxic too. I think MegaWaffles made a really good point when he said that the reality is that people are just fed up with toxic people in general. It bizarre that people can bully newbie killers so easily, though, and gross that so many do for easy games. :/

  • I only heal under hook if the person has We'll Make It. Even if the killer is heading back, they'll often be able to get off the heal before they can make it to you. I'll offer a heal, but I will stop bothering if they don't take me up on it in a timely manner. For instance, if they just sit on a gen and don't get off, I'll work on the gen instead and assume they're rushing for adrenaline. It puts the team on a bit of a disadvantage if the survivors can't heal up, though.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don't get how people complain about the downsides that come with getting off a killer's shoulder for free. Do you not realize how massive of a reward that perk offers?

@EntityDispleased I wouldn't really consider it a free escape anymore as the killer has to tunnel the person for it to go off. It sounds like it's been tweaked to help solo survivors with bad team saves (you don't control what your team does in solo) and to take out some of the teeth of the perk. It'll become like Unbreakable and I wouldn't consider that a free get up or anything since the killer would have had to leave you on the ground for it to go off. 3 seconds is a good amount of time and I think that's the main concern. If Enduring made it shorter, you're likely to not get to anywhere.

  • @Wolf74 said:

Wow... this survivor logic… they get one of their most favorite perks buffed and complain about it being SOFT-countered IF all killer are using that one perk.

It's a rework at best and a debuff at worst and this is coming from someone who doesn't even like DS @Wolf74 They made a perk that worked whenever only go off 60 seconds after a hook and reduced the base stun.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

I think Enduring should affect the stun from Head On. Lockers keep getting buffed: they hide auras and now the breathing of survivors inside is less audible (I assume that's still going live), on top of already hiding survivors visually and protecting from Doc's madness. Hiding in lockers should have utility, but should hiding in a locker make survivors untouchable? Head On will let survivors jump out of a locker rather than being grabbed, and unless they're already injured they'll still be able to take two hits.

I do not think Enduring should affect the stun from the new DS. If the stun is only 1.5 seconds, then DS is basically useless and won't help stop killers tunneling survivors. If the survivor uses DS, then they're already going to be injured while running away, so they're a one-hit down. It would be better to just equip other perks and hope your savior has Borrowed Time.

I think they're making lockers stronger because they introduced Iron Maiden and people were like "lol, we're never in lockers" or something.

  • @NathanExplosion Spending a lot of time on the forums can be fun, too. I like seeing ideas people come up to and just the lively banter. The game may have issues with toxicity, but I quite like a lot of the people here. I thought you were talking about the thread specifically, which confused me.

  • @NathanExplosion Unless you're specifically talking about two people while generalizing about what you read in the thread, you're inflating what's being discussed rather massively.

  • It isn't that the forum is an echo chamber. There's just many people with many different opinions, some differing from yours. I know, scary.

And if their initial goal was indeed to create one of the worst online community, by keeping lot of manchilds in the same place, without any rules.

Do you misquote and make up things for fun?

  • Didn't spinning mean you're fully healed or at a pallet? And how would someone say "no one's coming" when everyone's sitting on a gen? I've found tugging on the hook actually gets people running to you. How do you warn of traps? The game needs a better way to communicate things. More specific and more options.

  • @tt_ivi_99 said:

Well... Given that survivors have been abusing DS for about 2 years and a half... I dont see a problem if killers start to abuse it's little stun time for the same amount of time...

Keep in mind this perk can be used by all 4 survivors more than ever now. If you see you are getting tunneled then try to reach a window or pallet before going down, if you go down you have DS and a loop nearby, problem solved.

Keep in mind that you won't be wasting as much time. You won't be taking someone to a hook just for them to struggle DS. Saying "the other side abused it therefore we should now abuse it now that it's being reworked" isn't a good approach. Doesn't make you seem all that sympathetic.

I don't think enduring works on the new DS. It hasn't in the PTB from what I've seen and heard.

  • As someone that plays both sides I think the green and red/pink mori add-ons should only work once the person is on their final hook.

The only way that would be fair is if everyone pauses when the killer does their mori (some of the moris take a while) and people could easily just deny it by dying on hook.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Personally I would prefer an Offering for Survivors that prevents them from being Morid. Probably a Pink Offering which prevents them from being morid after their first hook. This can be used when someone has a bad day and simply wants to avoid to have a even worse day by being morid.

It will be burned anyway, regardless if the Killer brings a Mori or Not. Making it a pink Offering would also make it rare enough so that not all 4 Survivors enter the game with that.

Furthermore it would give a Pink Offering to the Survivor Side again, at least for the achievement.

@Aven_Fallen I actually really like this idea. It would obviously have to be a pink offering, but it'll give survivors an ultra rare and give something that's generally unfun to go against somewhat of a counter (other than never being hooked lol). While we're talking about things that can make the game far too quick, perhaps we could introduce an item that counters the key, though I'd be up for an entire rework of keys. Not sure what can or should be done with them.

  • You don't run slower when you're exhausted. You just can't use an exhaustion perk when you're exhausted (except Adrenaline).

  • @Shad03 It's a logical fallacy, Ad Hominem I believe. You basically address a person rather than what they're saying or try to discount a person's argument or what they said with personal attacks. It's one of the most common ones. Could also be considered a Red Herring, I think. Pretty sure they're not even bothering to understand what Eveline is saying, they're just having a knee-jerk reaction.

  • When I first started out, I avoided sabotage as I thought it was akin to flashlights and made killers upset. Now that I've played longer, I understand that the people who get upset over sabotage generally get upset over everything. It's nice to change pace every once in a while (by giving yourself something extra to do) and it's awesome when it works out, though it usually doesn't. The points are nice, too. Easy way to rack up boldness. I don't get why some killers take issue with sabotaging players. It means they're wasting time. It's like they want the game to be longer, then complain when survivors make it longer by giving themselves additional things to do. It can be quite funny, though.

When I'm saboing, it's either for a daily or a change of pace and what I've found is that it'll sometimes annoy killers, but I think I've been lucky and come across good sports for the most part. It can be so awesome when you get a save off and someone's able to break free thanks to what you did, but it's somewhat rare. Occasionally killers will drop the other person and chase me down instead, which is a good play imo. I mean, you'd chase off the person who's trying to flashlight save, right?

  • Survivors can nod, too. c: It's the same way.

  • I thought this was gonna be a post about how they're attractive lol.

I don't DC unless I need to (will hold the game hostage if I don't) or if on accident. Saying "I very much doubt you'd do that to a real life killer who is intent on killing you." is incorrect, though. People are using whatever method they can to acquire the killer's attention to waste their time and help their friends get out. It's an equivalent to someone calling a killer names and trying to attract their attention or distract them.

Also you say killers shouldn't dodge or DC, but they do. Sometimes they'll DC out of rage if they can't catch someone or if they're not doing well by the end. Often they will dodge, though, especially when given a hand they don't want. Why else would SWF have issues with people dodging them? Even as solo survivor, I get dodged sometimes. People just assume everyone is SWF. I've had a killer call me names and be very rude 'cause he thought I was SWF with another player.

I personally like Legion. Specifically Susie 'cause she's cute. Some of the mechanics Legion has is unfun to go against, though. From what I've heard, the mending time takes a while and how they can just stab stab behind you without any stun for missed swings is a bit much. Makes it kinda brain dead. One of the add-ons is particularly broken, too. People really shouldn't DC, though. If they have an issue with the killer, constructive criticism for the devs would be far better than to just DC.

  • I would argue that someone who would DC for an offering would also DC upon seeing the map. Please don't forget that many don't load in and the infinite loading screen issue just seems to be getting worse. I know most of the games I played the other day had at least one person missing after a long loading screen. Still, I think it's fair the way it is now, though what Ryuhi said is also fine. Survivors really don't need a particular map and killers should have the most power in the game, ideally, so being able to choose a map could work to their favor while survivors could request to not get a map with their offering.

  • @Ryuhi said:

That is true (especially when people match cosmetics on purpose) which is why I usually try to go off of the status icons in the corner more than anything. That said, Its unlikely for someone to get unhooked, healed, hit twice, and picked up all in 60 seconds.... so it only really comes up when injured survivors with similar cosmetics/same character are going for the unhook in the first place.

@Ryuhi Yeah, it's usually more of an issue when you have multiple people injured. I've never used MYC before (my Pig isn't high enough for the teachable), though I can imagine it'd be difficult to go and find the person. Maybe it's better for scare tactics and if you happen across the person who did the save or wandered back in time for it to go off but to also see them. I'm not sure.

@fluffybunny so that's why I haven't been getting notifications for replies! I thought it was my internet or something else completely stupid, I didn't know that changed.

@HatCreature I think it's more of a bug than a change from what I've heard. Hopefully they fix it soon! I like to know when people are talking to me. xD

Davids are awful teammates who farm you is a completely true stereotype.

They're ALWAYS bad, they ALWAYS farm, and they ALWAYS blame their team for dying when 99.9% of the time it's their own damn fault. I hate David and anyone who mains him.

I don't know if this is a stereotype between my friends and I or if everyone can universally agree that Davids suck.

Some of the Davids I've come across were really good with saves and protecting the team. While a lot of them are as you say, I don't think it's correct to say they're all like that.

  • Megs can be slow (like not quick with the uptake), Claudettes will either crouch in the shadows (like ninjas) or run to your rescue with the flashlights, and Neas can be toxic and may sandbag you are some I know of.

The obsession doesnt change unless you trigger DS. If you hook someone twice in 60 seconds and they don't hit their skillcheck/don't have it/etc than the obsession doesnt change.

Also I agree that a chase based mechanic would be neat. Even if not for Dying Light, having some kind of efficiency penalty for a specific person being chased would be a neat twist.

I think @HatCreature means that if you were to accidentally down and pick up someone with DS. For instance if everyone was injured or the unhooked got healed, but you happened to find them and down them quickly. It can be easy to forget who you last hooked when you're pressured to keep the ball rolling.

  • Billy isn't busted and only some 4-man SWF are unbalanced. A lot of people who SWF are casual.

@Theluckyboi Probably to trigger/troll people who SWF.

Oh I was trying to say if another Obsession entered the match because you rehooked someone in 60 seconds, you'd have to tunnel that new Obsession to get your perk back. I didn't mean to sound like I'd just tunnel anyone/everyone lol

The chase idea sounds really cool, Killers have a lot of perks tied to Gens which feels like a bad design choice but this also being tied to a chase sound really cool since it's the core feature of the game, chasing.

It really doesn't notify you unless you @ the person.

It would be really cool if being in chase with your obsession influenced the gens, along with hooking and killing them off. Doesn't "Dying Light" refer to like a last hope or something? It should impact the match whenever the obsession is going through something rough and it could be a nice defense against gen rushing to have it work while in chase, too. I'm not sure if it'll change with the DS change, but the person with DS is typically a runner, too, so you're wasting less time chasing them that way.

  • If we have seperate ranks for killers, it may encourage people to main only one killer if someone wants to climb in the ranks and could make ranking so much slower for killer, but I can understand how this could be beneficial for killers you aren't too familiar with. There is some things you learn as you play killer (tracking, etc.) that can seamlessly transfer to a new one, though. Honestly a practice mode to get better at a certain killer without judgement of who you're playing against may be better.

  • @HatCreature It would be multiple survivors if you HAVE to tunnel, but you don't. Nothing has changed, unless you make a habit of tunneling, which this perk was redesigned to address. If you're tunneling everyone off hook even after Dying Light is present, you kinda deserve to be d-striked.

This perk was already hard to get and now it's hard to keep. No one likes tunneling but this perks requires you to tunnel, and now not only do you need to tunnel 1 but now you have to tunnel MULTIPLE Survivors, yay fun.

Your rework isn't bad, though. It'd be better if the perk wasn't designed to just remove someone from the game right away. It would feel less tunnely. I know some people will bring in an ivory mori to counter the need to tunnel so much, but it still isn't ideal. I think the boosts should also come during chases, too. Like if you are in chase with the obsession, the gens are affected even a short time after the chase ends if you were to lose the obsession.

  • I think it's fair to remind you that the obsession switches and DS goes off after tunneling. All someone has to do is to not go after the injured/previously hooked person and it won't come back. Otherwise, just keep them on the ground for pressure if you're not sure and go after someone else or pressure gens or just wait around until you think the minute's up.

  • If you have any favorite DbD streamers or YouTubers, I would recommend having her watch them. I remember watching streamers before actually getting into the game and I felt I wasn't nearly as newbie as perhaps others may have been. Regardless, you should probably start with baby steps. Allow her to get used to generators and running around/being chased before teaching her more advanced things such as looping. Most people in the higher ranks don't actually know how to loop, anyway. They'll often just run straight and sometimes won't even go to pallets. If she can learn to keep an eye on the killer in chase and where the loops are, you can also slowly show her how to do them, but patience is key. It may also help to have her watch you or be in a game with another friend so that both of you can show her how to play.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

Hopefully they adjust the new ranking system properly. But also; Why is it only bad killers when noed is mentioned? Never once have I seen a post attributing its use to a skilled killer. Yes the perk can help a bad one, but if their skill is that low you should be able to win 1 last chase while the gate is being opened. If they are too strong maybe they baited you into false security.

If they find you out in the open or are able to chase you down (remember: they're faster), they'll down you. A lot of the bad killers with NOED also resort to camping and survivors sometimes get miffed due to that or due to killers ultimately getting rewarded for poor gameplay. You'll sometimes find people who camp whoever they hook relying on NOED to help them get the rest or at least one more kill so that they may pip and that happening is quite annoying. I've heard people say "just avoid getting downed," but anyone who has played survivor should know the likelihood of that and it's unfortunate when you're that person getting tunneled and downed, then camped.

  • I know it is somewhat bugged right now and may not even be a fix once implemented, but the new ranking system seems to scale the difficulty so that lower ranks can't accidentally wander into the higher ranks as easily. I can understand how such situations would be frustrating, though, and can understand annoyance that may come from a single perk being able to push someone up through the ranks, but that could be more of a testament to how forgiving the current pip system is. NOED is like Adrenaline where they both are quite situational. Adrenaline can go off during chase, for instance, but it's just as likely to go off while fully healed on a gen. Likewise, the NOED totem may have been cleansed or they just don't get that many people. I had a game where the killer had NOED and he got one person on the hook thanks to it. I was able to sneak over and get him off and everyone got out, though.

  • You can usually tell the difference between someone sandbagging on purpose and on accident. Once and in panic is an accident. If they seek you out, it's on purpose. It's banable 'cause it can ruin another player's experience. Also, survivors have perks that can literally show them where you are, so you're at a disadvantage if someone decides to lead the killer to you and block your path, for instance.

  • I play solo and occasionally I'll get into ranks with lower ranks for whatever reason (possibly the new matchmaking). Sometimes we have good synergy. It all depends, I think.

  • People are likely to get defensive, especially in competitive situations such as this. It's easier to blame someone for your mistakes than to recognize you made mistakes. If you were running him so well, he should have left you. Considering he didn't, I'm guessing he's a lower rank or banks off of NOED giving him more kills. I'll say LF isn't all that fun to play as, though. He like a weaker Billy imo.

  • Barbeque and Chili is an essential perk at high level play for its ability to reveal survivors, force them to hide in lockers/hide near the hook, and also rewards more bloodpoints.

The locker perk doesn't last nearly long enough to be useful to the killer if someone is far from the killer. If someone's far away, most killers won't benefit from the aura reading and they still need to find a survivor who may have moved and catch them after you find them.

  • Take her to spots she's less likely to be able to hit you. Like loop her around objects, don't run straight, etc. I'd also say healing may be somewhat pointless and DH can help. The hitboxes do need to be fixed, though, for both survivor side and killer side. I've seen people get hit by pallets they were no where near and others get hit by chainsaws and hatchets that weren't all that close.

  • I typically understand waving or twitching a lot as "they're camping" and pulling at the hook as "no one's coming" or "come," but it can be hard to tell since everyone seems to use it for alternate reasons. I have found that people tend to start running at you when you start pulling at the hook, though.

  • I don't think the insta-heals are too strong if you take into consideration the Plague's power. She can get you into broken depending on her aim and her add-ons and if she acquires the fountain, she can down you with a couple of squirts. Her vomit doesn't work like huntress's hatchets, either. If someone is crouching out of the way, you can still vomit on them and it has a nice reach, too. EDIT: You can also swing your head around, so you don't need to know their exact location. It isn't limited to one direction.

Not only that, but the fountains would notify the killer of your location if you use it. So, if you're injured, it would put you at a massive disadvantage. I can understand how it's taking away from altruism and most Plagues will want to infect you whether you're injured or not so that they may acquire the corrupt version of their power.

I'm not wasting 32-40 seconds healing. I'd rather just play injured.

It's so boring to heal yourself and takes so long. xD I'd rather have something I can use while injured and something for information (bond). Knowing where the team is and what they're doing is far more important to me than being able to heal myself.

  • I think the change is fair, though so far I'm seeing killer mains complaining about it not being harsh enough lmao. Some people. That's like the survivor mains complaining about bbq even after all the adjustments to give survivors more of a chance to hide their auras. It's laughable. If the survivor isn't given the chance to do anything (found and downed within a minute, whether it's being tunneled or just poor positioning), that's fine. People act like the minute doesn't start until they're downed and there's pretty decent counters people are just ignoring like not tunneling or leaving them for a bit before picking them up. It's like people forgot that DS can currently be used whenever and often rewards misplays. Having someone stab you right off the bat is far better than bringing someone to a hook just to have a struggle DS and them get loose, too. It wastes so much time and it being an instant thing is fine.

  • I run bond and find people later. I'll also run DH and Iron Will.

  • While I can understand the frustration with being dodged, there's a massive difference between that and someone DCing. While both affects time (you wait just to get dodged and you wait, join lobby, and there's a disconnect while in game), someone disconnecting can affect points (can't save as many from hooks or hook as many), the difficulty, and can void offering. If you play a Cake and someone DCs, it will leave you with less points in most cases. If the killer DCs, that leaves you with typically only 5k.

I do understand how it can feel unfair, though, considering survivors can't see killers at all, can't see their "items," and can't see their name. I think it's fair to not see their add-ons or what killer they are (survivors are just skins; you can't actually tell what you're facing and the med-kit could be an insta-heal, but could also be a brown med-kit), but if survivor's can't see the killer's name/profile, the killer shouldn't be able to see the survivor's.

  • @xmenfanatic

You're a killer like the Wraith who is built on a "hide and attack"/"bait and attack" play style, which SHOULDN'T be paired with tunneling.

    I don't camp when I play Wraith.

  • While I appreciate it when killers show mercy and don't immediately go after the injured person, I don't expect it. They're trying to snowball the match in their favor and part of the killer's job is to punish survivor's mistakes. When I play killer, I'll often leave the person on the floor (or will hook them if I've only hooked them once, depending on my mood). As for accidentally finding someone again thanks to BBQ, that's all based on luck. I'll honestly forget who I just chased, so I wouldn't fault the killer for that. Usually when people use Dying Light, they use a green Mori, too, so that they can quick get the Obsession out of the game. If they're relying on tunneling, they'll likely burn through quite a few gens before they can finish off the obsession. Some people get really salty and fussy over nothing, though.

  • @NoShinyPony Has someone made a forum post already to bring awareness to the issue? I have been busy and sick, so haven't been able to be around the forums as much as I usually am, so I'm not entirely sure what's going on and what people have posted.

@rooCraah I was so happy to see Corrupt Intervention was as long as it was. It also helps the killer so they don't need to check certain generators and don't need to worry about survivors gen rushing on the opposite side of the map.
