I don't get it? Why didn't you mend him if he was standing beside you, it's quicker...
I did. But the point is they got away from the killer. Made the point to find somebody but did not mend?

Uh...that was supposed to be rank 11 not knowing they have to mend...me bad
-
They posted stats last year and it was something like %50 of games start with 2 swf. Basically nearly every game has 2.

What if survs were able to crawl on the hook themselves thereby negating the hooking score and kill?
I am seeing lots of games with slugging now and it is getting boring really quickly. To the point where i am thinking of unbreakable which i have never used.

It's not really that many advantages. Survivor is easier with controller, so if you're using controller as survivor and the killers using k/m you'd pretty much be on the same level as PC players
Might be easier but i see lots of controller users that are not able to properly look around. Especially behind them in chases. I can spot a controller user within 5 seconds of watching the spectate. Mechanical, bursty and limited camera movements is what i see.

Actually, those are killer rules for myself when playing killer, because I hold myself to a certain standard. I don't camp, tunnel, slug, body block, take credit for a bad hit, ect. That may be what is holding me back as far as ranks go, but I'm fine with that. Some may say " you're not a true killer main, if you don't take it serious, and play to win ". It's not about winning or losing. It's about playing a solid, honest match that everyone enjoyed. My real life role of being an adult is the one that I take serious, not the role of killer in a video game.
I have had my enjoyment of the game ruined enough times as killer that i really do not care what the game is like for them.
I am an adult and i play a mean killer who throws people on hooks and sometimes gets schooled by them.
If you dont want to be the mean bad ass killer then go and play mario cart, i guess. Better yet do a dance with the 4 survs at the exit gate for your 20 seconds of fun as they forget about you 5 seconds later.
I dont play to win. I play to kill.

Really? Remember me & Fire Up are pointless, Rancor gives u a mori instead of a hook, but...
Why the hell should all this perks, especially BBQ, MYC or Whispers be "second chance" - perks? Endgame perks are endgame perks, like Adrenaline, Hope or Wake Up.
I would agree with Spirit Fury (u would get stunned but the pally brakes instead)
In todays gen rush world Fire Up is not pointless. Gens are flying and the perk only gets better the more gens are done

Oh so you're my potato solo teammate that sneaks around in the corner while the killer camps me.
I am getting better. I am not found first anymore unlike before. I ditched urban. But i wont use ds or bt and will do saves when they are safe and not within 2 seconds of the killer leaving. I run we will make it more so i can heal faster. I am not that bad. I am not a potatoe.

Oh well that's totally different.
Yeah there are some maps that make certain killers significantly stronger yes. Just when those maps and killers do align I think it makes them much stronger, not too strong, which is what I mean when I say "OP".
And then we have the korn maps. As if killers dont have it hard enough as it is. I guess it helps those urban types. I was one and love the korn maps as a surv.
I dont use urban anymore. It helped me get better though. I wont deny that. Against the old nurse urban saved my hide so many times.

I appreciate your post. I've been on the receiving end of this mismatchmaking lately.
People say ruin was a crutch perk and it would be good to remove those killers from the top ranks. I don't think anyone considered it would create a vacuum and unjustly suck green killers into the red ranks to compensate for their loss.
I don't know about anyone else but I like to casually play games not competitively. Getting your ass handed to you with 200 hrs under your belt by the 2k-hrs+ SWF teams is not fun. I'll play 3 in a row like that and call it a night to come back in a day or two.
No I don't want to git gud, I just want to be matched with similar skill level players.
I dont last 3 rounds of that crap. There is losing and then there is being schooled. After the second one i start deranking again.
-
I dont bring BT or DS.
Ever.
I have thrown myself on the hook at times when 2 DC and i have enough points to safety pip.
I tell non hatchet throwing monsters to use hatchets.
I tell non trap setting trappers to set more traps.
-
Another page from the surv rule book.
Dont tunnel the no mither person.
If i see no mither they better be able to run me across the map for all gens cos as soon as i hear that noise i am going after it.

What I hate is when survivors say GG EZ. That EZ part to me is saying "you suck" You got lucky with those survivors. Most won't give you a kill or advice in the end game chat.
Turn end game chat off as killer. Save yourself the hassle of reading that crap. If you do well and 4k they wont say anything anyway or just insult you for not playing by their rule book.
No tunneling
No Slugging
Go after the unhooker
Go to the other side of the map when you hook
And on and on and on. IF you play by those rules you will lose. That is what they want and that is why they moan. Cos you did not play the way they want you to.

About a week ago, I was playing a normal Killer match as Freddy, and I notice one of the Survivors in my match is just not that good. This Feng Min, she's running into open, empty spots, not even trying to loop. I down her and hook her, and continue the match. I go on, kill 2 more Survivors with 4 gens still up, slug the third, and go find the Feng Min standing again in the middle of a field. She stands still and lets me down her. I go and hook the other Survivor, and pick up Feng to find hatch. I close hatch (Because of that challenge) and let her have the gate, and let her go.
I get a message afterwards from the Feng, thanking me, telling me how she just got the game because a friend told her and she's constantly getting put with high ranks. I tell her no problem, and that I'd love to do anything to keep new players. DbD is very unforgiving to new players.
That was probably one of my favorite moments I've ever had playing this game. Helping a new player survive and letting them know there are good people that play the game, and that there is hope to get better and have fun.
It just sucks so much that these players are having this happen to them. If when I played in 2017 and only got red ranks, I would've quit. How did matchmaking get worse over the span of nearly 2 and a half years?
Matchmaking has always been like this. This is not something new all of a sudden. At least as long as i have been playing. For years we have read on the forums about low rank killers facing high rank survs and vice versa.
This topic comes up once a week. Lately the situation has gotten really bad and is putting off new people. So be it. If they, the dev's, dont want to address this then oh well. It only hits their bottom line. Its not like people are goign to buy the game and all DLC at once. No. They get the base game and if they leave right away that is all they are goign to get from them

The hatch only opens when your the final survivor. Once open, the killer can close it and force you to use Exit gates to escape, or if you have a Key you can reopen it and flee. It spawns varying on amount of survivors left alive and gens completed.
If you are a good killer and consistently get 4ks the "game" will ensure that the exit gates are far enough spread apart to ensure you get out.
This is in line with their bullshit 2 surv theory. Which in pratical terms never happens as it is usually 4 k or 0k

I started facing those teams just before i reached green ranks. Once into green ranks it was nothing but teams at least 8 to 10 levels higher. MM at its finest. At this rate i am not surprised that they cannot retain killers.
Funny you say that cos i just made a post saying the same thing asking if they want the remaining killers to keep playing in the face of 10 ranks higher opponents. There is a significant overall skill increase even if the odd potatoe is in there.
As soon as i hit rank 11 killer i faced nothing but red ranks. Sure there are some pototoes in there for the most part they are seasoned survs with plenty of hours in the game.

Man, cant believe all this gets under your skin but lets see.
There is a perk that makes item usage higher then in terror radius so you can just run that.
Other then that I dont mind clicky flashlight users as I enjoy their desperate struggle for attention and they are not helping the team at all meaning easier time for me.
Killers smacking you on the hook is an odd one, for a short glorious time the pain screams when hit on a hook did not happen anymore and for some bewildering reason, the devs just added it back..... and during the no audio feedback I was not smacked once but right after I was again so that is entirely on the devs, they support itreally.
Tbags at the exit gate, personally I feel the killer should be able to close the gates using the same handle when survivors are inside, forcing them out, this could actually lead to some interesting gameplay as well.
Who said this gets under my skin?
I think you assume because i wrote this i am pissed off with it. Far from it. I dont care. But some do and it is not like this us vs them is a happy relationship. This is why i dont bother with end game chat even if i 4 k them.

Rank 3 surv and I escape pretty often, so long as my team is solid. However, on console or any platform at that, we can't do accurate statistic pullings because we aren't ranked properly. Rank 11 v rank 2s is HIGHLY unlikely to win, unless those rank 2s decide they are over-altruistic, which can be detrimental on a team. Same can be said about a rank 2 v rank 11s. The ranks may not matter entirely, but there is a curve to some degree. And that jump between ranks is enough of a curve to say so.

If you're going to keep claiming the same inaccurate statistics, I'm going to keep countering with the same inaccurate counterargument:
These official numbers can easily be manipulated, as can all statistics. Statistics are one thing. I am showing the results of my games.
For instance if you have a series of hard games they will give you the most benign of killers who is prolly 8 years old and can barely chase somebody let alone hook them. Or you will get a game where the skill level difference is as wide as an ocean. Numbers can be produced. That pic dont mean a thing.

No, this is more like an indication to let this go on without me as i am done being a punching bag and statistical padding. I keep getting stuck in teams that hook rush - without BT, cant do skillchecks to save their lives, hide in lockers, dont get totems, get the outside gens on one side first leaving the rest of us to do all on one side close together.
I use bond. I see it all.
This is just not fun anymore. Sorry. I really gotta think if i want to invest any more time into this cos solo surv game sucks ass

Pick a different killer. One that you have not played before and EXPECT to lose but gain some experience. You will derank. Maybe a few times and then you will be served up some easier games.
This is how i picked up myers. I hit the wall at rank 10 with the trapper a few years ago. I could not get past that wall.
So i said screw it. Played myers and he became my main for a while till i hit a wall with him.
Then picked up doc. Liked doc a lot. The ability to flush out survs and deal with loopers was cool. Then i hit a wall with him.
The fact that i was running in circles a lot was starting to irritate me.
Then i found freddy. At first i only started using the snares. To me this was the killer i was goign to play. Then i found out about the fake pallets and i jumped ranks like crazy and am about to hit 7 when i am normally a green/yellow ranked killer.
Being able to cut out entire loop sections and the mobility he has is what i like. To me he has some good map presence. I am a hook em and leave em killer. So what they get unhooked? Ok, if they do it in your face things will have to change but by and large they hang a bit. Best game was ten hooks and no gens done. On a cornfield map which i freaking hated but i had lots of luck that game. 20 seconds after the hook i was already in another chase.

First that totem perk is absolutely POOP. Detectives hunch is better. But you’re right gens can be repaired while killers camp but not everyone knows until they run up too the situation unless they are SWF. Plus it’s just a cheap tactic that killers with no skill possess. This is why deliverance needs to be ran with decisive strike and unbreakable. If they can get deliverance from a safety unhook which is unlikely and only has one chance to work. That’s why these supposed clutch perks are in the game for killers who use cheap gameplay tactics to secure kills.
Small game can hinder you on some maps. The Game for instance. It will pick up totems on BOTH floors. So you look for one and expose yourself only to find out its on the lower floor.
-
I am on the hook. Trappers trap is nearby. Last gen pops. He camps. I flap my arms. The masses start swarming the hook for the save. I was his only chance of a kill. He gets distracted. Somebody pulls me off of the hook. I get hit. Trapper steps in his own trap. We all make it out. I could not stop laughing. I know it feels bad for the killer but, damn, i dont get out too often so this was sweet indeed. I was prepared to die in order for the rest to get out by flapping my arms and telling them to open the doors and get out.
-
There are not many who can pull off a tbag and get away with it in my games. If they do it at the exit gate. Fine. I wont be there for them. The longer they wait at the exit gates the more shards i get if the game was less than 10 min. If that is the case still.
Do it to me midchase and i will catch you. Slap you on a hook and then move on. I might nod my head. I might not. I dont care, really. Leave that stuff for the exit gates. Get your exercise there where it truly means something. Do it ingame and get caught then that just makes you look like an idiot.

I swear if I get camped and survivors just crouch nearby not doing gens I might give the killer what he wants and die on the hook for an early 3v1.
Waving hands indicates he is near me, if I look like a flappy bird I have plenty of time on my first hook... Go do gens!!!
The new people are flappign their hands and i know the killer is on the other side of the map. They are just harming themselves and me by doign that. If he is camping, flap. If not then dont flap. Simple.

there probably are more SWF on console due to the nature of coms built in. But even so its 3 people who can talk...so what? It wont affect how good you are at chasing them down and how quickly you can get to a them hook. You've recognised its SWF before so you can adjust loadouts/perks accordingly - you see torches? use LB or Franklins or mad grit to stop them taking hits. Plus you've spotted the one solo player which you can use to your advantage.
I dont worry about one flashlight. Even if it is a purple one. Most are not skilled enough to use it and are not in a position to use it when i down somebody. In over 100 games only two people have been successfully rescued by the FL. Hardly worth taking a perk for. Most of the time i am ready and most of the time i manage to look up without being affected. Face a wall. Bait the pickup and listen to footsteps or do a quick patrol. In the event they do save ill be ready the second time and waiting for it. They are the ones that usually end up on the hook. They do not get to play again after a FL save.

I have played this game on and off since release. That said I know they added more hooks to the map, as well as put a re-spawn timer on destroyed hooks. For the life of me i don't understand why should we wiggle.
I look at the map and there are always plenty of hooks around. So by the time you get 20-50% wiggle done you're hooked. Sometimes if your lucky you can get 75% before hooked.
At first I thought "maybe I'm pressing my buttons to slow"? After testing for some time with speeds of my input the wiggle moves at the same rate, regardless if I press it fast or slow.
Yes I'm aware that there are offering to reduce hooks but man it just seems pointless.
I would rather have (x) Hooks and the players can only Sabo (x) hooks permanently. I think this would add a cool strategic element to the game.
There are some perks that will covert crawling to wiggle progression i think. I have come close a couple of times to getting off but it is so rare it is almost not even worth doing except for the points

Agreed here. You will get called a camper/tunneller for anything and everything under the stars.
I get called a tunneller even AFTER I obviously ignore and run PAST the unhooked survivor the the rescuer. It's best to just ignore these salty survivors, or add insult to injury by flirting.
Those are the same people that clal us "facecampers". That is not even in the game anymore.
If anybody is facecamping it is the ones abusing the new hook "tech" where they hide behind the person on teh hook and we cant do squat about it. That will take three months to patch out btw

Stay away from windows and pallets if its a good doc. They are traps. Move in circles on the oposite side of the map and go in rotation. Work on a gen move on. At elast i have had success doign this against him.

Second, third and fourth chance perks are ok to stack since it only annoys the killer. But we cant have them for killers..No. No. No and NO!

If you are the only one hiding you are actually the one person who is the least beneficial for their team. If everyone is hiding, this would be a win, because the Killer does not progress at all during those two minutes (except Hag or Trapper of course). But when others are getting chased and wasting ressources, you doing nothing is exactly the worst thing happening.
If i see somebody got hit then i will move to the gens that are open. Till then i will work my way to them. There is no point in doing a gen when a high mobility killer can patrol them with no problems at all. All this does is initiate a chase and a posible hook near the only available gens to be worked on.

Yet another match where unfortunately I was caught first and it was Leatherface who decided to Camp me the entire time with his chainsaw revving.
He ended up getting a second kill before the other two survivors escaped because instead of just focusing on generators one or two of them stood around doing absolutely nothing as if he had any intentions of letting me off the hook.
How about we come back this face camping situation by subtracting three points for every time the Killer stays Within 15 m of a hooked Survivor from the start of the hook through all of the phases.
This would ensure Killers wouldn't camp and survivors would hang in there and not just disconnect.
There is no face camping anymore. There is only camping. If they bring a tent you had your chance not to get caught. Tough chit if you ask me mate

That would destroy the game. This game used to have solo queue and group queue. There’s a reason it was merged into one. There isn’t enough players to have any queue but a big one.
SWF is strong, but the numbers suggest only 20% or less of games are SWF. If they’re a good SWF then go for the black pip and move on. My concern is that they balance for the SWF AND it affects solo queue or duo queue. That would also destroy the game.
Really? What numbers are those? Yours?
They did release the numbers last year and it was far higher than your pathetic %20.
At the time %50 of games started with 2 swf. I forgot what the other percentage was but most games are swf.
If they do not address the fact that coms bring a massive advantage in a game meant to have no coms then they will pay the price.
As it is i bet they are already working on ai bots. Killers are leaving and survs que's are goign through the roof
