DS - not if used correctly. Actually used against campers/tunnellers properly.
Adrenaline - Small temporary boost. Rewards staying alive and punishes greedy killers closing hatch.
Unbreakable - Killer left you. Their loss.
Borrowed Time - CAN be abused, but still useful anti-camper perk. Abusable too since it relies on terror radius.
Spine Chill - Stealth killers, genius. Try spotting a cloaked Wraith at 20m with terrain. No audio notification.
Sprint Burst - Walk everywhere for a 3 second boost that you can still get hit in.
Dead Hard - Smaller than you think and works even less.
Balanced Landing - 3 second boost, and killers have zero effect from heights. Find a high point in half the maps.
Self-Care - Play solo in anything below red. Nobody heals you. It's an insurance policy.
Boil Over - Can be used to a killer's advantage and you're going to get one escape in a hundred games instead of a thousand.
Iron Will - Maybe I'm a little sick of hearing Jane's thirsty moans.
Breakdown - 2 uses. Nobody runs it. You'll get your hook back anyway.
Deliverance - One use only . With conditions. Leaves you broken after.
Hope - Used for an Archives challenge. Terrible perk.
Inner Strength - Leaves you vulnerable with maximum 5 uses.
Flip-Flop - Terrible perk. Relies on bad killer play.
Now. NoED
NoED free kills - You can't win a chase normally, so here's a free hidden Exposed effect and a movement speed buff for free.
Rewards failure - No requirements on your end as killer. Just be bad and get to endgame.
Cleansing totems - Can't always find them! Can't exactly use Small Game when I'm limited with Archives for perk slots either.
I dont use noed.
But lets suppose we look at the two die and two get out scenario. I have been ingame where the only two kills, or one kill even, that the killer got were from NOED.
If those are the only two kills they got then so be it. Rare do i see noed taking down the whole team. At higher ranks we clean totems when we see them. I clean all totems i see.

All of those survivor perks are fine. NOED is bad. Please immediately nerf NOED. A 4 minute match should never be extended by a minute to cleanse totems. We, the survivor team, have already used 8 of the 5,000 pallets on this map. We are running low on resources and this map only has 1 infinite and 8 long wall jungle gyms plus killer shack. Yeah we got screwed on the map.
I cant tell if you are being sarcastic or not.
Do the totems during the game and it might last a bit longer.

So what if it's old? This is a tips and tricks video, not an analysis or a suggestion.
He never said that gen speed is fine.
The thing is, this guy knows he can something about it since he is a good killer and most games aren't ultra hard. It's not like the killer is held back at the beginning of the game so the survivors can just start with a advantage.
Sadly, most killers are bad players who just want chill games of "hook, chase, 4k" routine and when that doesn't happen, they look for an echochamber to complain (which in particularly worse in OP's case since he made the same thread in the steam forums).
I managed to learn soemthing from it even if it is old. Not to lunge at pallets but to walk up to them and M1 rather than lunge. I am also if the opinion to start eating pallets to get rid of them rather than respecting them at every one out of spite not to give points. I saw it as an you cant get me thing. But with so many pallets if i count it up how much time i am wasting sitting there waiting for them to drop them it adds up to 15 to 20 seconds i think.

Once you unlock teachables they are just skins.
In the old game, claudette, ahem, blendette was taken quite a bit. Back then you really could crouch and be still and the killer would run right by you.
She is also the first most people unlock due to self care. Learn how to get away first before you heal. Then learn to play without self care. Took me a while but i got it now. As solo Bond is your friend.
I find threads like this funny since to me all the survs are just skins.
Why do most males want to play slutty looking little nymphs in all games i have ever played?

It's a shame that like-minded players are not able to play vs each other in the normal game. I really enjoy playing fun matches where the killer is engaged and it requires the survivors to really be on their toes. I don't care about 4k, I merely want to have chases, hooks, and a good 10 minute match with lots of BP. As survivor, I want to engage in chases, get some gens done, knock out some totems, rescue a player, heal some and who cares if I live or die? To me, it's fun either way.
Unfortunately, most of my matches as killer feels like an exercise in pinball as I'm jumping from gen to gen trying to catch survivors out of position so I can down them in a quick chase and keep pressure. Even when I go out of my way to not tunnel, I get toxic responses or I get that BT/DS survivor who just got off the hook, runs up and wants to body block even if I was not near the hook when they got off.
Oh well. KYF is fun for one or two matches, but I'd rather be getting BP.
Sorry, this conversation went way off topic.
Do you have Freddy? He ignores borrowed time. Does not work on him. He is strong. I strongly disliked playing against, the old, freddy and playing as freddy but the rework is ok with me. Maybe even a bit too strong.
The new doc is fun as well. For me my biggest issues is constantly having to sweat as killer to get your kills. Be that one kill. Or two kills. But the constant sweating and being on your toes was taking its toll. I love playing killer but it is not good for me or my health. Blood pressure, you see.
So i HAVE to put this game down quite a bit. If i want to see old age that. Older than i am now that is. And i am 50 now.
-
1566 hours in.
Only now during the last month of serious playtime was i able to start filling the great skill check box to max and consistently hit greats.
Too bad it will take another few months of playing to get that back since i stopped playing again for a while. I get frustrated too easy and this game raises my blood pressure. Its not good for my health to be honest. But damn can it be fun sometimes.

There are worst maps.
Ormond, the maps with strong windows (Ironworks, wretched shop, etc...). The Crottus Prenn Asylum main building is insanely strong if you know how to use it, I think they did a great job with the new maps (Lery's reworked, Hawkins, the badham rework, the layout of Yamaoka (except for the stupid plants and bamboo sticks).
Haddonfield is not that bad, except for certain killers, and it's strong for others (like trapper setting traps on the narrow corridors) and Oni (can't dodge him on corridors, you're dead man walking).
Of course, balanced+haddonfield is stupidly strong, that has to go somehow.
The game has to account for all perk types and as much as i hate that map, yamaoka, as killer it must be a paradise for an urban evasion types, or ones that run no scratchmark builds. Cos as killer i cant see the ground most of the time. And why should i be able track blood on every single map as killer? That would not be fair either.
I remember the old darkest moon offering and playing claudette on shelter woods. That was the day i learned i dont always have to run. I got tired of running so i stopped running and stood still next to a series of trees. Granted it was a really dark map but the killer ran right by me.
Its all good complaining about maps and things in this game but they do have to take each individual playing style and role into account whne it comes to map design. And not just accommodate the aggressive in your face i can out loop and out think you types.
-
We need a strong killer now. Old nurse level killer that can handle loops fairly easy without much fuss that forces the game back to its roots. And that is surv being scared.
I would not mind a killer that slowly drains your life even just being in his terror radius. This will teach all them cocky, non gen doing, clicky clicky, slam a pallet in your face types that ust being around him is enough to kill them.

Swamp has the lowest rate of survival while Haddonfield is the highest rate. Even at the highest rate, it is less than 50%.
I believe that is what creates the stereo types on maps.
Personally, I love Haddonfield as Trapper. Trap up the upstairs windows, narrow grass corridors and listen to the screams of trapped victims. It's a great map for Trapper
Might be because of its size. It is a failry small map to be honest. Not a lot of places to hide and a lot of wide open places. Not many run urban these days so gettign around on that map without urban and being seen is a slow affair. In todays gen rush era being slow and not able to juke killers in open spaces is a death sentence for me.
But i dont mind that map to be honest. I like the way it looks. I stopped caring about living or dying. I want fun. But todays games are just way to quick for my liking. so sadly not playing. Lurking here instead.

But pallet drops don't equal a hit on a survivor. Even if you bust through pallets like nobody else with Brutal Strength and even Fire Up added onto that, there's 50 more pallets that the survivor has time to run to and force you to break. Sure, you'll create dead areas quickly with clown by breaking windowless open loops, but by the time you do that it'll be the late middle to end game.
On top of that, doctor can at least stop close survivors from completing a god loop window vault, while Clown just forces a medium vault, which has been relatively recently sped up by the devs.
The moment i started not caring about winning and losing was the moment i got better. Really better. To the point that during that sweaty game i managed to get all 4 in the end as trapper. That game changed me and the way i saw myself as a killer. It gave me the confidence to play killer the way i wanted to rather than being dictated to. In the end they were swarming like bees around me and body blocking the hook. The game i posted to youtube even. Ill have to look it up again for old times sake.
During that game i said to myself. I dont care about the initial gens going off. I am going to set traps and set myself up good. So i did. A few random traps. A few predictable ones. Then i played the game. It was a nasty game in terms of what they were doing. Hook camping and swarming. body blocking, flashlighting ect. It was not a nice game to be honest but after it was over and i got all 4 i knew what i had accomplished. I became a killer.
I dont play clown. I have him. Only played a few times. But play him keeping in mind not to give a hoot about winning or losing. Just concentrate on one thing at a time. One chase. Chase. Dont give up. if you lose them its ok. Learn from it. Where did you mess up. Should have gone left instead of right? Throw the bottle over there cutting off that part?
In my game it was the random traps that ended up losing them the game and that is what trapper is known for. Late game. Use your strengths.
I took trapper to P3 after that. Then Myers came out. Same thing happened. I sucked you know what. Played him with the same mindset. Get better.
Then doc came out and i loved him. I can flush people out like rabbits. PLayed doc forever.
Bought the others for the perks but did nto play them. Then i stumbled onto the reworked freddy and have played him ever since. He does nto mess around. Sure you get groups that will stomp you. You get those in all games. But by and large i am doing good with him since i find he can cut chases down fast. Had my first perfect game not so long ago. 32k and ten hooks. Imagine the running around getting ten hooks. It was mad and most of it was just a blur of one hook into the next chase followed by the next hook. And on and on,
Play it. You will get better is all i can say. But i also played this game pretty much from the start and have a huge headstart of having played the "old" game.

Why do people think clown is bad? He is add-on relient sure, but with a proper build and some decent add-ons he is an absolute monster in the chase.
It's probably because people follow the stupid builds streamers like otz put out for him, with devour hope and haunted grounds and all that other RNG nonsense; instead of using their brain and creating one for themselves.
I usually do corrupt + bamboozle + brutal + pop goes. Bamboozle and brutal makes him terrifying to be chased by, corrupt for an early game slowdown, and pop goes for a mid-game slowdown.
There is literally nothing you can do against a bleach clown with bamboozle except feed him pallets non-stop, and with brutal you will cut through them like nothing.
Or creating one from their own experiences facing survs. Take your playstyle and then formulate a build. Dont just blindly do what some "streamer" says. I cant play as well as they do so some of their builds just dont work for me.
-
This game can crash. And it does. I send them the crash report that they want and hope things get fixed.
But the game does not crash as much as people claim it does unless you are crap at maintaining your system and using 5 year old video drivers. Or using an OS that has been excessively hard started over a number of years to the point the OS does not even want to work reliably.
Win 95 and 98 SE (yes i am old) had this nasty habit of allow people to overwrite already used memory locations causing blue screens. Most people dont even know wht blue screens are anymore as they are now hidden from view and the system just recovers on its own most of th etime.
-
If i was a dev in charge of numbers i would drop statistics for a few weeks and let things settle down before i resume. The cry's for nerfs and buffs are always strong after changes.

As killer i dont really care if they DC. They should not be able to keep their rank though and since rank is going soon anyway it wont matter much. There are impulsive people in the world.
If they dc i think the points i get should be a tad bit higher though.

No audio cue. I found I see it light up out of the corner of my eye.
Yeah, at my age reaction time is not the greatest. I am 50 this year. I also have a few floaters in my eyes. Dark, lightless, areas in my vision and they look like spiders with legs.
Imagine having a small tick constantly in your eyesight. This is what floaters are essentially. They come with, here it comes - and what you young people have to look forward to, old age.
What happens is that the light sensitive coating on the back of your retina separates from the eyeball and this creates dark spots. But the way they separate makes the dark area look like spiders or ticks.
I scared myself a few times when i first got them. Stared into a white cup of water and saw this thing floating in there. It was not int he water but in my eye. Scared the crap out of me.

As far as ping is concerned the game is in a far better place than it ever has. At least for me hosting games. They said %85 of people are on less than 100ms. In a game where the dev's stated that a ping over 150ms can cause problems i think they did do a pretty good job so far. As giving us a good ping is concerned, that is.

Wait, let me get this straight. The map you deem favorable to survivors should be removed because you don't like it? Most maps are very much killer sided, and as a killer, I appreciate it, but in no way do I dread the one map survivors have an advantage in. I think it is pretty pretentious to want it deleted.
Heck, I usually feel bad for survivors on any swamp map. Those are horrible for survivors. I can usually stand on the boat or boathouse and see everything. I stalked with Shape like nuts up there. Should survivors ask for it to be removed? No
People seem to forget that all killers and all survs with all their perk variations, strengths and weaknesses have to play on the swamp. What is good for one might be a weakness for another.
You might get nothing but immersed urban and spine chill players as a myers and never seen them. Its happened to me on that map. That was the first time i never saw anybody and all 4 got out. Quite a shock that was. Seriously. I was brown myers at the time. But to never see anybody?

Could also be a new Crotus Prenn, Swamp or Ormond map. Because they have less programming to do when they reuse map elements. Like they did for Plague and Clown. I personally would like the swamp (if not too big) or a new map of course :P
The teaser made me think of Sloth from the goonies, maybe Brad as survivor XD
But I can'T imagine we really get a wall breaker soon. They would need to rework every map to include the wall breaking elements. If at all, they might be including that for Lerys at first step (where the wall breaker myth comes from) and go on with other map reworks until they can afford to bring in a wall breaker killer on every map.
Yeah they are asset swapping here to increase production time - not a bad thing. I suspect a variant of one of the newer maps like yamaoka or ormand. Although the game only has one variant as far as i know.
The Game is not like Coldwind, McMillan or Springwood with multiple variations of the same map, so we could get another game map. Who knows. We do have a few standalone maps like haddon

I dont use it. I find having to pay attention to the icon to be far too distracting. I was looking at the icon more than playing the game and holding M1.
Does Spine come with an audio like premonition? I cant rem since i dont use it.

You people are all thinking the killer has the chains.
Its a surv tethering the killer in place so they can escape. Its a surv perk. Taking a guess anyway.
-
I hate haddon as surv. I must be the only one. I am not an in your face looper and the smaller the map the more anxious i get.
-
I always said get rid of ranks. All it does is promote this i am going to dc to save my rank or give the last guy the hatch mentality. If they got rid of rank maybe this can get back to being focused on fun again and less on rank.

Took me several days, playing 12+ hours every day, but we got there.
Now I couldn't have done this alone so I'd like to thank the BHVR team for changing DC penalties from a percentage basis to the number of instances during a 24 hour period.
And of course if you play all day and crash once? Well then your penalty never resets. I mean that stroke of genius I have to tip my hat to. I would be stuck thinking logically, trying to apply penalties in a fair and balanced way, but BHVR is thinking outside the box. Play a little? DC all you want. Play a lot? Never crash, not even once in a 24 hour window or you're blocked from playing the game you paid for. Damn, why didn't I think of that.
And last but not least, to the loving community who assures me that I'm a liar because DBD doesn't crash or even have bugs! Wow! Now that kind of programming talent you want to hold on to!
Thank you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Peanits (spelled right?) streamed for 5 hours last month before the dc change. During that time he crashed on his first game and alt-f4 once. That was in about 8 games since most of the time was filled with empty lobbies trying to get people for their group.

Next time, don't hype yourself up like that for something that's been called a little surprise.
For a person who first played killer as trapper and who took him to rank 10 in the "old" game this is more than just a little surprise. We have waited three years for this.
I might come back sooner than expected after hearing this. I stopped caring about rank and am focused on more fun than stress. Trapper is fun cos he is unpredictable.
I have to figure out how not to get stressed while playing killer. This game raises my blood pressure and it is not good.

I get it!
The survs can now tether the killer in place. Its not a new killer at all but a surv perk.

It's not poor shaming. You simply need to be able to consistently connect to avoid ruining the experience for other players. If you can't do that, you should find another game to play. It's not fair to everyone else in the match for you to DC and leave them in the lurch.
Especially if you hosting games on MacDonalds wifi for crying out loud.

Changes have been asked for, for years.
I map struggle to middle mouse scroll down. Only use it when i have to. I dotn struggle for points. I refuse to do their bidding.
They still insist on us feeling like we are scared. After over 1000 hours the only thing i am scared of at times are bright ass surv clothing. I am not scared of FL. I am not scared of tooboxes or maps. Or multiples of them.
The one bright as day Meg on the other hand....well...she could be a problem. Or could not be. But it gets me thinking.
-
Sometimes i am like a mindless zombie killer who just tunnels anything to death. Yeah, sometimes i do tunnel. If others get in my way that just makes me tunnel even more cos i know what that hit means to them if they are willing to take one. That sometimes backfires with protection hits. Its a game. They must know i tunnel and provide worthy of opponents at times that can deal with a killer that can and will tunnel.
There was a period of a few days last month where i was getting DS after DS. This is the result of tunneling. What made the games even better is that i recovered and still got them. DS just pisses me off. I dont use it as surv. Never will.

Dude I don't know what to tell you. Nobody is saying this is right, and they're also working on some solutions atm. For now, you'll have to deal with it. It's a ping and latency thing. They can't control the player's ping. That's up to their internet.
Yeah i know. It happens in all games. Sucks. But what can you do?
Go back to pre-dedicated servers days? no thanks. I have a reliable con when i host at least.

Because killer hits have priority over survivor actions due to latency. Basically, it looks like you haven't crouched yet on the Killer's side. It sucks, but it is what it is for now. They're looking to try and improve the latency though (as with the last PTB), so I'm excited for that.
Not if i get the notification that she is winding up and i duck. That is wrong. There is a gap in time by means of the windup and it should be enough for me to get down. Otherwise we are talking about no waiting throwing of hatches.
-
I think survs in general should be making more BP. When i take bbq - i am hoping they dont take my BP away - i make low end 15k and high end 80k or more. Then i look at the survs and then have maybe 15k. Rarely do i see games that are above 25k for survs.

I wouldn't know honestly. He sounded like it was more of a crouching last second to dodge the hatchet behind debris kinda thing.
This should be possible. She has a windup you can see and hear. So as soon as you hear it i usually crouch and make myself low. If i have urban even better as she is slower while winding up and holding. The notification to duck is there. So why are people still getting hit when the crouch should take priority. Why else have low lying furniture in the game then if it does not work.?
-
Somebody show them that clip of the poor billy trapped against a wall and a barrel, while he had somebody on their shoulders and a claudette healing to full strength after every hit. The billy could do nothing at all. They were healing faster than the hit timer.

If you read my beautifully constructed thread, it's not hitboxes but latency :^)
Unless you're healing or doing a gen, it's due to your hitbox still being the same as if you were standing up. They're looking to fix that.
huntress should not be hitting people that are using the low lying terrain to cover their heads. People are getting hit crouching around the low lying furniture? Should not be that way. Urban is good for those.

@Runcore said:
To all who complain about camp and tunnel, its result of unbalanced gen times. Killers dont have time to properly chase and hook every single survivor X times without tunneling. After gen times are fixed, then less killers will camp and tunnel but until that, these (btw fully legit) tactics are only way to achieve some kills in 5-7 mins long gen-rush games. And about tunneling, its imaginated term of entitled survivors based on imaginary rules book. Tunneling doesnt exist. Why I should go voluntarily chase survivors with full health, get looped (its easy because of god loops) and waste precious time if I can delete one opponent from game???? Why should I voluntarily whip myself???
Trapper and hag don't even have time to set a few traps before the gens start popping left and right.

Good. Cos why should i have to wait longer than the game will last due to some potatoes pentium 33mhz computer?

6 minutes sounds way too long for hardware-issues during loading, unless someone is playing on a Toaster. And I can confirm that in this case the game wont even install.
So it sounds more like that someone had the infinite Loading Screen but refused to DC in Loading Screen.
No, cos when the game started all were present. Meaning it was a toaster as a computer

Some matches I can have fun, but I just keep getting red ranked tryhards who will just mow down Gens and not even bother to do anything else. I get gens are the objective, but when they're ending a match so quickly, it's not fun at all. It's like they'd prefer the killer just didn't exist to interupt their Gen simulator game at this point. As Survivor, it also annoys me when the match is over so fast, because it's more fun when you have a killer interacting with you more than they currently can.
What is even more problematic, is that if you apply pressure and slap them off of the gen and hurt them, some have perks which can increase the gen repair time. Couple that increased speed with the ability to loop efficiently and you have surv's who are not afraid to repair gens while hurt or even next to you. Making the game even faster.
-
My issue is that i dont want to, as a killer with decent hardware, wait longer than the match will last due to slower hardware on the survs' part. When the loading part of the game is longer than the actual game this sucks. I have in the past waited 6 min for a game to start.

Many dedicated surv's have switched roles and then come on here and say they are sorry. That they were wrong. They only say they were wrong after putting themselves into our shoes.
This is also one of the reasons i dont use scumbag tactics like BT and DS. But then again as a killer who counters BT and leaves the hook its a tactic i dont have to deal with much tbh.

What next, penalty to the killer for downing people too fast?
Don't be ridiculous.. I had games where I won too fast on either side (or lost too fast, too, for that matter) it would have been stupid to have the game prevent me from doing more objectives because I was doing too well.
Rubber banding is annoying in Mario Kart, can't imagine why they would implement it in this game.
We do get penalized for killing them too quick. You have to remember that we are not allowed to kill them fast if you want points. We are points pinata's. The more hooks and chances they have the better bp we get. But we are told that killing is our ultimate goal. We are killers. Or are we?

What is so funny about that?
Do you play killer?

Yeah, ok.
Cool art team. Music is meh as that gets on my nerves during a chase. I am not a total bunny boiler
