I understand that we cant get kills every game. I dont have a problem with that. But when you accept every game and dont filter based on swf you get stuck with them and have to deal with them. Time and time again. And it only gets worse the higher in rank you get.
Yeah, it makes you a better killer but it also blatently points out the flaws of this game when coms and a well coordinated team are used against one person in charge of corralling 4.
-
I dont want easy games. But i also dont want to have to sweat my ass off just to get one kill as they rotate hooks efficiently while they tell each other where the heck i am.
It is so damn obvious in some games that they are swf and are using coms.
Especially as freddy with the blinding block. Detection perks dont work for a minute. Yet they always know where i am ? right

as of the last few days yes

Nah, if two got away by the exit gates and he was last, then you have already did poorly (or got matched up against higher ranked players) throughout the match. You’re not entitled to a Kill just because he was the last person left. It’s fine the way it is.
Just make sure to let them Boop the Snoot and tunnel and camp anyone who doesn’t.
While he may have done poorly the guy that escaped had a trap on his face. Pig did her job. Caught the guy and slapped a trap on.
Why should the hatch be excluded from trap activation on escape. Removed the trap and then escape.

Legion just needs a less awkward cooldown phase. Though he excels in weeding people out, and his add-ons stack in interesting ways like iri-button and TR related perks.
Pig has too many weaknesses to her stealth that aren't too obvious. Best use of it has people doubting her position, not just ambushing people. Can't do that if you're bright red in an open field while spinechill tells em if she went back or is still around. Too high profile especially against swf. And beartraps are a great stall but no staying power against coordinated survivors.
Overall maps are also too bright for pig. Sheltered woods you can see her coming in a lot of places.
But i am screwed against her. 4rth attempt to remove the trap. EVERY SINGLE TIME :)

All of us were in your shoes at one point. As surv, and, if you play killer, as killer.
Stop caring about winning and losing. Play the game. You are not going to learn if you are standing in front of the hook.
This act is almost a sign to survs that you can be bullied and have no confidence.
Try to play high mobility killers if you have them. That way you experience more of the game. Pick a killer that is relatively easy to learn, for you, and does not require a huge amount of hours to "learn", as well as fast. So they cant lose you so easily.
Buy information perks as soon as you see them in the bloodweb. Bitter Murmur, A nurse's Calling, BBQ, Surveillance. Anything that will give you their location.
Map offerings that are open, hardly any T's and Ls and are exposed. As in not lery's.
One thing is sure. They have to do gens. That is where they will be.
On huge open maps. Try to protect as much as you can two or more middle gens. Make them get off of them and repair the outside ones. Make them aware that you are keeping an eye on those. If they are smart they wont back down and work on the middle ones leaving themselves exposed and out in the open.
Or you take one side of the map and they have to do the other side leavign themselves with lots of gens that are close to each other which is in your favor. No means a win but i goes in your favor.
Little by little wear down the pallets in that area. After a while the game snowballs.
Rest comes with experience. You have to remember that some people learn killer fast and can reach rank 1 in 80 hours. I am on 1600 hours now and rank 6 is the highest i want to go to be honest, id say split 50/50 surv/killer.
High mobility killer. Not pig at first. Trapper is a good start to be honest. He is fast. Doc, he gives you a huge amount of info on where they are. Wraith cloaked is fast so you can follow them and learn what they do in an attempt to lose you. Wraith can be looped but for keeping up with them after hitting them he is good. You wont lose a wraith so easily.
Hinder their ability to see you with their information perks. Equip blindness addons if you have them. Hindered.
Good luck.

MMR separate for killers would be beneficial to all players. I can try other killers more without fear of getting stomped on till i reach yellow. And there would be a broad spectrum of killers.
More killers in different ranks. Less que times.

Quentin - ^$%#, he is going to run me ragged.
Meg - SB coming....wait...wait..
Nancy - Where is the nearest locker?
Dwight - How did he get a flashlight so quickly?

Yeah, I won't use Lightborn in a lobby full of Flashlights, I'll just make sure nobody is around or look at a wall before I pick up. That or I'll bring Franklin's.
But again, my issue isn't that being silent on the ground is unbalanced, it's just annoying and drags games out unnecessarily.
Flashlights, over all, these days are not the threat they were at one point.
Flashlights have not changed much but the people wielding them have.
Gone are the days when i did not have to think twice about getting lightborn if i saw two FL.
If i see two now i am not really threatened by them anymore unless i am wraith.
-
Why not?
If i was given an objective lesson on how to defeat me then i will tell them.
If i have a difficult match where they are not being "nice", and i know you know what i mean by that, i know what is coming. So i turn it off.
I am not bothered, nor do i see, nasty toxic end game chat.

This DC ######### has got to stop somewhere...so it starts here, with a few bumps along the way.
I would too.
We ae just lucky that it does not happen every hour though. Maybe once every 8 hours

It can't be, this game is too open to interpretation to ever make a claim of skill.
If someone loops the killer for forever and someone else does gens, who has skill? argueable only the one doing gens progresses the match for the survivor side, at the same time they are just sitting then holding a button down....
The system now is based on you doing a bit of everything, which is pretty damn RNG as it is.
The one doing the running is giving the gen jockey, me, the time to do the gens. I have been known to do 2.3. and even 4 gens while they run them ragged. Gens are my area. Running, which i cant do, i leave to others.
I think this is how, in part, the new MMR systems is going to calculate "skill" and adjust accordingly.
Thsi game is more than just running the killer. There are many aspects of it.
After getting hit can you lose them? If so, how long does it take you?
If you run them ragged how long can you last? And how many gens got done in that time?
Does the team that did gens while the other ran the killer ragged go for the difficult save and do they pull it off not having BT? Do they get hit in the process? Does the hook escape?

Mm working in pretty interesting way-I just fokin never see any survivor with any other rank but red. There is always 1 or 2 rank keyholders swf. I ve got no idea, mb there is a dull totem with "hex : swf" at my house
While there is a telltale difference between, lets say purple and yellow in both sides, for killers the difference is huge.
The requirements to gain rank in surv is far easier so you will still see red ranks that previously would have been yellow. I am one of them but because gaining rank is so easy it was not stressful at all to get to purple. If you have a little skill in all areas you should nto have a problem getting to red. Especially if you can run the killer. The gens will come with time. Totems are given to you. As are saves once you stop being timid.
I know that for the majority of games red rank means serious business. But there are different sets of red ranks. Red ranks that got their cos they just manage to get the objectives done but cant think straight and make simple mistakes. Red ranks cos they get carried consistently by their team mates. I get carried a lot if all i have to do is gens, find a totem or two and do a save. I am a gen jockey with pretty good skillcheck skill now but cant make a chase last long enough for 5 gens for sure.
So i know where my strength is. Hitting skillchecks. Almost never missing them. And hitting greats with more and more consistency. But should being able to gens alone get me to purple? I dont know.

The only thing I want done with Freddy is to have another clock on the map to wake up with. That’s it.
This i can agree with. One more clock.
I pretty much main freddy and play against him.
Three clocks would be ok with me. As surv i always find that the clocks are on the opposite side of the map and i have to traverse the whole damn map yet put back to sleep sooooo easily.
I had a two 0k's this morning in a row and got schooled by some really cool, skilled, players. Considering the time of the day i think it really was school kids playing before school. I was so impressed that i took the last one who was goign to die, who was on her first hook, to the door and dropped her.
Want to know how to counter him? Coming from a freddy main? Figure it out yourself. Cos i am not goign to tell you what these people did so damn effective it shut me down.
But it does come down to git good. Among other things.

Wow, now campers will get free downs without wasting a perk slot!
fyi.
Campers usually do not leave the hook. That is why they are called campers.
If you never come for the save while it is still up then whose fault is that?
When people stop feeding the campers, is when they learn to leave the hook.
Let them get their one kill and be done with it. Punish them. They will tire of staring at the hook and doing nothing else. No rank. No points. Hardly fun.
Problem is also the survs themselves. They are indirectly promoting it by swarming the damn hook. If i was him i would not leave either. He is protecting his only prey.

Oh no, you think they're nerfing sabo'ing hooks? Remember the ruin "nerfs"? If anything this is way stronger. You spend less time on it and it isn't as annoying to deal with as killer with almost every hook being 99% only to get robbed of a hook
A well hidden Ruin on a good map as well as a high mobility killer is good enough to finish them off. The new ruin can be just as deadly.
Ormand, Wraith with speed add ons. Ruin well hidden. They wont find it without spending 10 min looking for it. By then its too late.
As a killer i am also a little apprehensive about the sheer speed of them being able to take hooks. Hangmans and agitation might be a must for the first few weeks till things calm down.

Just a little bit of observation.
They have addressed a lot of issues in the game in many of the streams, and the one thing I have noticed it coming back to is the statement that is some variation of "the issue is caused by the servers".
Now I'm no expert here, but when you can trace back a majority of the bugs and issues that are being reported to one major source of hassle.. Wouldn't it make sense to rework or remove the base cause of the issues?
What did they say caused the hitbox issues? Oh, that's right, communication between the player and killer on the server.
Why can't they have a dc penalty that can distinguish between a game crash, a force quit, and a regular disconnect? Yep, the server is unable to tell the differences.
Why is Dead Hard not working? Is it the servers? You betcha.
I could list off the others, but I don't feel like spending 12 hours typing out everything that they have addressed back to the servers as the root cause.
Back to the original point, would it not be logical to go to the root of the problems to fix them, rather than trying to just band-aid everything else on the surface.
I will say, considering the fact they have never explicitly stated that the didcated servers are actually completed and implemented at their fullest.... They can always pull the card of "well they are still 'technically' being tested". That is one of their smartest little dirty tricks to force survivors to deal with servers that probably cost less than a bus ride to each city where the servers are based in.
Or distinguish between an intentional DC or one caused by the game not completing after end game collapse has finished. If the timer runs beyond the 2 min ECG timer and then game is still going it s fair to say that it "crashed". No penalty needed for DC.
I just took a 5 min penalty for that. EGC came and went. Poor stuck in place surv was prolly happy that it was not them that got the penalty.

I have been highly critical as well up until now. That is when you like something. Some of us express ourselves differently.
After taking part in the beta i was saw where we were heading and i liked it.
I have done a full 180 now. Reversed my review completely from hate filled bile (cos i love the game) to something more constructive. The remaining content i purchased. I have a full roster now and the rift.
I actually found a new life in the game. I am no longer just playing one killer. Today i played all different killers and i did not give a hoot if i won or lost as long as i had fun. And fun i did.
I just had a hilarious game as clown. I took no perks at all and no addons at all. I was just going to do the clown daily. I somehow managed to slug three poor survs right next to each other. I hope they learned something there. Of course i let them go. I actually felt sorry for them as one person was stuck. Literally stuck and could do nothing. I let the three go and then i had to end the process since the game would not shut down after end game collapse. I took the penalty. 5 min. This happens once a day to me at least. I hope they dont add up to quickly. Cos i dont want an hour ban for reasons beyond my control. I took footage of the incident.
I let them escape and heal time and time again. It is rare i am actually totally in the power role. Especially with a killer that i only played three games with but i saw that these kids were totally in over their head.
-
I see toolboxes being used for topping off the last bit fast if needed or even used for endgame, saving the fast toolbox to complete the "problem" gens.
This might make Franklins an interesting choice.
The way the games are now is this:
Surv spawn together most games. They are practically sitting on a gen. They do the gen. Slower killers might lose the gen. Faster one should get there in time.
The future might be different. Faster killer can chase them off of the gen and break it negating most if not all the work on the gen as long as they dont go right back to it. If perks are used to slow the gen or disable to gen then that might be a wasted toolbox.
Imagine doing the gen with the toolbox, using most of it, then getting chased off of it and then finding out they have ruin. Ruin these days, the new one, regresses pretty damn fast.

This topic should be pretty much dead now.
Once, and if, you play the PTB you will understand. Or even the dev notes will do the trick.
I took a tookbox into the PTB. Granted a brown one. This toolbox was fast but the downside was only about a 1/4 of the gen got done. Maybe a tad bit more. But not much more. Toolboxes are not going to be as problematic in the next patch if it goes live.
They are working on it.

What about pigs and ghostface who have to sneak around? In todays maps they might as well carry a light bulb over their heads.

I dont mind that map. Not one bit. It is the opposite of the old lery's which was really bright.

But this new patch with the new killer is a game changer. Looking forward to it. From both sides.

That is a a personal choice mate.

I just had the map you showed. It is brighter than the other one.
I think pig and ghostface who sneak will be happy with the new map as well as the blendette's who have been forgotten since the lighting rework over a year ago now.
This truly is a game changing patch on a major scale. For both killers and survs. Not seen the breakable walls yet. Are they in?

Sabotage is getting a buff not a nerf. You aren't going to be able to make a "safe zone" to run to anymore but if you get to the hook the killer is carrying a survivor to first then you'll be able to break it. It's like all hooks are 90% sabotaged. And you can break a hook from any angle. You don't have to be right in front of it waiting to get hit.
Sabotage use to be a trap for survivors. It was never a good strategy. You waste a bunch of time prepping an area of the map and even if you successfully render a portion of the map as unhookable that still leaves survivors slugged and not working on gens and the hooks respawned eventually anyway. It was just a bad strategy.
Sabotage rework fixes all of those problems. It's actually pretty genius. No prep work. No slugging.
I do like that this makes the sabo build viable again though. Before it was hit and miss and mainly used to 99 the hooks which took a fair amount of time with no guarantee. At least you got the bp for it if all else failed.
-
As killer i am not looking forward to these increased sabo speeds. I am a bit worried to be honest. We will see how this pans out but i defo see lots of sabo squads the first week or so testing out their builds.
I think hangmans is going to be used a lot during the first week as a defense.

- Totems are a SECONDARY objective. Doing DULL totems is a waste of time, as NOED is the ONLY perk that uses them. Thats pretty busted by itself, its like adding a perk that exposes you if you dont disturb enough crows throughout the game... You need to do something useless in order to prevent that ONE perk.
- This still doesnt change the fact that campers can easily abuse this perk and adding some sort of nerf JUST FOR CAMPERS and killers that dont do anything for the whole game is neccessary
- First killers say SWF is toxic, then thay say to play in SWF. 50% plays solo, other 50% plays in SWF, you cant force either playstyle on all surviviors.
I guess that is your problem then. Isn't it?
-
######### was that?
How is that even possible? The guy drops the pallet and then gets hit a few seconds later by a spirit that then appears a few seconds after that. And she was on the wrong side of the pallet as well
Only thing i can think of is that she hit him on the side of the pallet that he was on. But in order for that to happens she needed to phase out which she did not.

@Archimedes5000 said:

What? It requires to cleanse totems. 5 DULL totems. Just cleansing them takes 90 seconds, thats one full gen, and it doesnt even take searching for the totems into account. So you can easily say that searching NOED slows down the game by at least 20%... And thats a lot.
And what does killer have to do? Wait until last gen is done? There is no token requirement like Devour or even any other type of requirement.
NOED requires NO EFFORT from the survs.
You are not reading that right. In order for NOED to happen they have to NOT do the totems. No effort means noed is a possibility.
Dont like noed? Do totems. Take a perk. Be in a team of people on who you can rely on to do totems and not just solely do the gen rush thing and think all is good. Some even just walk by totems when they see them, like i see so many times.
-
I love it as killer. I dont have to sweat finding anybody as they came to me.
I am liable to still hit them even if they are using it since there are still spots to hit them at.
Two people now off of gens. Great. Thanks. Be my guest. Every game please. I get a free camp. The guy on hook could just suicide and then its your turn.

Most matches I've come across, my own survivor teammates super toxic to the killer, who didn't do anything wrong in my eyes. This one trapper, he was doing his killer thing. At the end of the game suffered teabagging and plenty of abuse in game chat. Why? All because he used Franklin's.. and because he used Franklin's, they lost their purple med-kit and purple toolboxes (maybe SWF?).. and they decided his mother should get ill.
Quite disturbing. Sure "it's the internet" or "don't be a snowflake", that's not an excuse, if you think it is, then you're part of the problem. It's pretty sad. I try my best to be nice to everyone, killer and survivor alike. But even I sometimes fall for killers or toxic teammates winding me up. If only everyone actually actively tried to be 'better'.
I'm expecting this post to get responses just as negative and miserable as the game chat lol. But who knows, maybe there are DBD players out there that agree with me. Anyway, just thought I'd share my thoughts. Feel free to ignore.
This is the ONLY game i have EVER had to turn chat off on. Ive been playing PC/Console games since the mid 70's. Yes, the 70's of the last century.

Hmm? You thought that running around looking for totems with an Exposed status effect was a viable strategy?
Because I thought that you are supposed to find the Hex totem before Devour is active, and when you see the 3rd stack you immediately go to that totem you found and cleanse it. And you cant do that with NOED
If you are running around with the expose status you already failed as a "team". Serves surv right for gen rushing and not doing anything else.
All this bitching and moaning about NOED all of a sudden is that lots of people are getting caught out with it and wanting it nerfed due to their failures. No.
Besides. DEVs are not goign to change it no matter how much survs moan.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1100216#Comment_1100216
Not sure if you noticed, but the only thing I was complaining about was that NOED requires no effort from killers.
The whole thing about totems was to show that NOED is already the hardest to counter out of all Hex perks, and jUsT cLeAnSe ToTeMs is not a solution.
So again, NOED would be in a great place, if only not the fact that it can be abused by bad killers to get easy downs.
The only nerf I want to see to NOED os in this part: effort required from the killer to activate the perk.
Ot could be tokens or whatever, you can even buff NOED, as long as there is restriction that prevents campers from using NOED to its full potential
So my idea for this was: you can use NOED only on people you have hooked before.
I think you have that situation reversed. NOED requires NO EFFORT from the survs.
-
@ClickyClicky said:
In the meantime while NOED is debated they should just make it more fair.
If you do totems NOED doesn’t affect you. If you’re the type of bum that doesn’t cleanse any the killer gets to NOED you AND mori you.
That outta get the ones that don’t pull their weight cleansing.
I would be ok with that. But the problem is that survs would take that too serious and cleanse ALL totems in fear of a mori. Omg
-
If they are getting chased you can intervene by getting in the killers way. Most will not turn down a free hit. This is another way you can get it i think.
