Survivor mains, have you ever considered running a game off meta to try different perk synergies or play styles? If you only ever run the meta (DS, BT, DH, Unbreakable, adrenaline) why do you not change it up and what could convince you to? If you don't always run the meta, what are some great perks not being utilized?

I just had yet another game where the majority of the Survivors are opting for the meta builds.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/84TUV4IC3LIE/deadbydaylight-5-28-2020-9-05-41-pm-2.png

Lately I've been doing pretty well against them but it's getting so boring going up against the same tactics (bait the dead hard, 360 lunge the juke, slug the most recent unhook who is playing super bold suddenly, slug then find hatch before hooking the final survivor, camp slugged final survivor of possible) nearly every trial.

And since I also play a lot of Survivor I'd like to try out some cool builds.

I use probably one meta perk.. Iron Will... If that's even meta.

    My build is:

Inner Strength - I find it's a great counter to NOED or Hex Totems in general as it gives me a reason to do them. I also can take protection hits and easily heal up incase my teammate is on Death Hook.

Iron Will - So when I'm injured I don't have to heal, it's also quite good at jungle gyms since killers can't hear where I'm going and are forced to rely on guesses or scratch marks.

Resilience - So when I'm injured, I get faster vaults and can do gens or totems or even heal others faster

We'll Make It/For The People - Both excellent team perks and my solo teammates definitely benefit and appreciate it.

It's a fun build tbh, and in no way is toxic to the killer.. If they think it's toxic, then they're just as entitled as some whiney survivors.

The thing is... we shouldn't even be forced to report such players. The game should have a way of automatically detecting such things and suspend those players' account until the Support team looks into it and makes a decision if it's a false alarm or not. There must be a much better control over the situations like the one you have experienced. And yet... It appears to be one of many things the developers fail at.

Tell me about it dude.. If I wanted, I could have easily continued the match and I guess escaped EZ since well, can't kill a hacker easily.

What really got to me was that he was teabagging the killer and then disappearing as if that's something to gloat about. Plenty of toxicity already, it's about time us players actually did something about it.

im putting that here it's *chief's kiss* (but i'll censor names, im not an idiot), just to show how stupidly broken you can decide to be if you want to and whenever you want

The same can be said about sweaty survivors that go against random killers that just want to have fun and they all have those 4 perks and items, but when you're the random survivors that go against that type of build, it's even more annoying in my opinion (and i play both as solo queue survivor and fun killer)

What's insane is that dude, I went up against this same build. It sucks.. but sucks even more when the killer camps and slugs while using this build!

Me and another survivor escaped. My perks weren't even meta build tbh, I used, Iron W, Fixated, Bond and Kindred. End of the match, got a barrage of messages from killer whining about how survivors are OP...

Dude was using messed up add-ons and a pink Mori on top lol. The entitlement is real.

  • Okay luckily I didn't close the match end part, so I did report post game. Also I don't have video but I did have multiple screenshots of this person directly below another player under the ground. It also shows that the person underground is healthy (my bond perk shows me), everyone else except me was injured. Which proves it was that specific player. I want that player to be punished because it must have sucked for the killer.

I can confirm that it wasn't that player

..................... so he abused you for not farming with an Endgame build? And he's 10 ranks HIGHER than you?

I never say this, but it's THAT moment.

    Talk about entitlement!

pretty much sums it up 😂😂

I only camp/tunnel when a survivor has been BMing me.

Go on survivors, keep shining flashlights after slamming down a pallet.

Wanna heal right in front of me after you slam down a pallet?

Wanna twerk whilst bodyblocking a hook?

    You asked for it.

Personally I think it's okay for a killer to get flashlight blinded after a pallet stun or drop. Simply because it's a way of escaping. By blinding the killer you have a better chance of losing them. So I don't get why that deserves a camp/tunnel. Hardly fair.

All the other things though, I totally agree, flashlight clicking, teabagging at pallets, healing next to a dropped pallet in your face is a survivor being cocky and deserves to be camped or tunnelled. I for one try not to be toxic. I don't even use flashlights because what's the point? You use it to blind the killer at a window/pallet, well done you're toxic. You use it to save a teammate, well done you're toxic.. like honestly it's crazy.

  • @ggezbaby said:

Ironic that he complains about the match being “boring” while he had the entire team slugged. On the floor. Until they bled out. Like... you don’t think that’s boring for the survivors? Just entitled logic.

Tell me about it lol, funny thing is, no one complained afterwards, no one was insulting. I mean slugging is a real strategy, but he can't complain the match was boring if he chose the strategy himself, we didn't even get hooked to use any DS. LOL

  • @JHondo said:

Was anyone hooked beforehand? Because if someone was unhooked he could have been playing overcautious of the DS meta, which is to slug. That being said there's no excuse for their comments, just butthurt. When I have crappy matches I don't say anything, just leave the post game cause it's not worth it.

Sadly no lol, no one was hooked before hand, he was just choosing to slug right from the start, it's insane that he then complains lol

  • @CrassardStreams said:

Jeez guys, yea both sides can be really toxic he was also saying even his own team mates are being super toxic. Now my notifications are filled with "this guy is a perfect example of the toxicity in this community ree" like fine burn me at the stake idc lol.

Facecamping Bubbas, oppressive docs, teabagging and flashlight clicking and just overall trolly survivors.. they're out there. In my experience the survivors do those things much more often because it's more accessible. Where as if you play a campy killer you're kinda.. committing to that for the round, you chose that killer/loadout. Yea, it sucks for both sides.

It's kinda funny isn't? When someone speaks about it, you see how many people actually hate that stuff but don't do anything about it since soooo many players do it XD

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The killer tell you that because he wants you to stop being shy he wants you to go out there and show those people who's boss he loves you but he is too shy to tell you that , love like that does not come every day you are so lucky 🥰❤

You need not look further than the first 2 comments in the thread to understand the point OP is trying to make. They're talking about the community being toxic and the first 2 people respond by attacking survivors which is not at ALL what this thread is about and is toxic in itself.

    The irony is real

Dude tell me about it! LOL I'm talking about toxicity from both sides, not just one XD

most people act polite irl because they are too afraid of being themselves, not because they do care about somebody else. people are selfish and they act like beasts if they have the opportunity. an online multiplayer game only gives them the opportunity. is it sad? it is. will it change? nope.

Speak for yourself. Think or believe whatever you want, but I personally do not act 'like a beast' when I 'have the opportunity'. I stay as decent as possible, in person or online.

I don't use what others do as an excuse to just think it's 'okay'. Don't paint every person as the same with your negative view of things. There are decent people out there, not because of a foolish reason like being afraid to be themselves. Them choosing to be decent is exactly what they are and some choose to keep that whether they are anonymous or not. I like to think I'm one of them and will always try to be. I'm not perfect and I'll fail a lot, but I'll keep trying cause if everyone becomes an arse, then maybe you'll truly feel miserable and see what everyone being 'selfish and beastly' is really like.

I know what point you're trying to make and I'm not blind to people going beserk or beastly online since their identity is hidden, but not everyone is like that, if that was the case, the world would be a much much much darker place than you think it is. It's dark, but don't think it won't get any worse. Try not to add to it, that's all the OP asked for, instead of disregarding, disputing or shrugging it off, encourage what it's saying.

  • @aregularplayer said:

    welcome to real life

No, in real life, people can be decent. It's more like "welcome to the internet", but I still refuse to accept that we can't be decent to one another. But if you choose to accept it then as mentioned, you're part of the problem (not accusing you of being bad or anything, I'm just saying accepting it doesn't make a change).

Ive only been playing for a couple hundred hours, but I have literally never encountered a survivor or killer, who felt like being a salty jerk, that hung around for more than a one liner in chat.

I have had more than a dozen people or so explicitly apologize because they thought they were rude in game. Just the other day a player, literally named for snoot booking, apologized for bullying and booping even though I killed him. Sweetest David ever.

The only place I see -real- salt and toxicity is from the cry arse babies who come here to whine about whatever they think made them lose on a given day.

Like, for real guys. You all get so tilted while the rest of us are out here having fun and killing each other.

And when the game gets frustrating? I feel like most of us go have a snack or something...

I think you've been fairly lucky. Some of us deal with toxicity during gameplay, which does take out the fun. Like a killer slugging you specifically all game so all you do is crawl around the map. Or as a killer survivors being toxic. That isn't much fun as you're not able to actually play through the game as is. It may also be to do with when you play, which servers you connect to etc. But if you're having fun and not coming across any problems, then I'm happy for you, but clearly this post isn't meant for you. It's a request of being a little polite or by the least be decent to one another.

Most matches when i play survivor, the Killer is super toxic to the survivor, who didn't do anything wrong in my eyes. These bunch of survivors, they were just doing gens and their looping thing. At the end of the game, they suffered from headshaking and plenty of abuse in game chat. Why? All because they did generators and used their perks properly.. and because they did, they lost their live to a toxic, tunneling, facecamping killer.. and he decided they are just a bunch of (insert any bad word you wish) and they should rot in hell.

Trust me good sir, it is as bad, if not worse for survivors. Mori spamming, headshaking, extremly toxic chat abuse, tunneling and camping, this is pretty standard when you play surivivor.

Yeah, a lot of people thought I was saying survivors are toxic.. but really my point was that both sides can suffer from it.. sure it's the internet and it's anonymous but still.. I'm British and we have a bad rep for being arses lol

Hey man, just keep fighting the good fight. If enough people treat people with respect, maybe it'll catch on.

Thanks dude.. everyone who says "that's how it is" is exactly part of the problem. Each person that chooses to be nicer or atleast just not say anything negative, that's one less person. It's something. There will always be the tiny evil few that really wanna bully people, but let's not give them fuel.
