Pre-run + W + Sprintburst will become the new meta if they make dead hard useless. It's clear as day that this will be the result. It will be the new hot topic to cry about, especially holding W which has good synergy with SB. 10 times more boring than DH
-
Made a bug report about it and saw some other people did as wel, but it's not being acknowledged , so probably like 6 more months or so before a fix
-
Good to hear, then it seems to be only a big thing at the lowest of the lowest MMR . i have been playing solo past few days trying to only escape by using the hatch, or die trying. Apparently this doesn't count as an escape which is probably why im in this low end mmr bracket.

Hello Mandy,
first of all, I would like to apologize for my harsh tone in the above post. I was very annoyed with this perk that day because every survivor was running around with it. I realized after the fact that the developers will look into it and I'm very glad about that. Yes, you're right, the sprint boost is stronger, but I personally don't care about the strength. It's more the frustrating part of DH that bothers me. That's the only thing I have to complain about. Playing against sprintboost just feels a lot better. I also think sprintboost is good.
SB will become frustrating for you as well when DH is changed. Like mandy said, alot hits that the killer misses because of DH wouldnt happen if the survivor wasnt running DH. Not because of the fact that the survivor doesnt have DH, but because of the fact that the survivor wouldnt create an opportunity for the killer to hit the survivor in the first place. If they destroy DH then every user will switch to SB, almost every survivor that is working on a gen will make it to a loop before the killer can get in a free hit in (which happens alot if you keep track of it). Also instadown killers/hits will result in alot less free downs because you got time to burst to a pallet or window (and lets not forget that the killers with those powers dont even have as much problems with DH in the first place because they skip the hurt healthstate of a survivor.
They also cant destroy DH because it has been part of the balance for the past years (especially against killers like nurse/huntress). The killrates of every killer (apart from 2) are already more than 2k on average, taking DH away will raise those killrates big time and it will create the same situation where SB wil become the "over performing" perk compared to everything else. This is just the surface of what changing this 1 perk will do to the whole game which is why it takes so long for them to make changes. (((and why NOED still exists)))
-
They have said more than once that they have no problems getting new players but have more trouble with keeping them. They depleted the pool of possible new players with certain chapters and free weekends. The stranger things dlc brought even in a lot people that barely play games. Looking at how they released a damn kpop killer is just them getting desperate to keep the numbers high. Now even licensed killers don't draw in more players because there are non left. It will only go downhill from here. To be fair I'm happy for it since they just hardcore milked this game from the start because of the monopoly. No decrease in amateur behaviour of the dev team in all these years... Even dbd2 will fail at this point
-
Every killer justifies camping by saying that the survivors just have to do gens to counter it. Ignoring the fact that there is litterly no game being played, no interaction between survivor killer, just holding M1 and escape while killer stares at the hook whole game. Just stop justifying this broken exploitable game design. I just don't understand why they don't make it possible for killers to camp at 5 gens and make camping possible depending how how much gens are finished...
-
Most of the time when camping or tunneling happens at the start of the game for no reason it almost always is a Russian player. This is an observation, not that they all do it. But there is for sure some correlation between Russians and toxic gameplay behaviour in dbd from what I experience.
-
Killers complain more because most survivors are able to vent to other survivors/friends that play dbd. First place for killers to do that is on the forums which is why the forum are overrun by people that play killer. In other words there are just not as much survivors here to tell killers to git gud
-
Its like you say, it just FEELS like its more in favour for survivor, but it is far from that. its clear in the statistic data they release every time.
bad/baby main killers will say you cant use that data as reference yet it LITTERLY tells you with absolute numbers that more than 50% of the time killers experience more kills than escapes and vice versa for survivors
Killer gameplay is more stressful compared to survivors, yet the general balance is in favour of killer.
you can 4k as killer and still feel like you lost the round.
-
So you are learning a killer, you go against a toxic swf and are asking how to deal with them... You already answered your own question. Learn the killer
-
With survivors having those perks, 90% of the killers already have more than 50% killrate... so you want even more nerfs for survivor? why is it so hard for killer mains to understand that second chance perks are needed for survivor since they can actually die at the start of the game. Killers dont need it BECAUSE THEY CANT DIE...
If survivors are able to kill the killer in the first 3 minutes by "tactics" like camping and tunneling which you cant do anything about, then you would also want some extra perks to stay in the game. At least try to look through the eyes of survivor ones in a while when you play. Not every survivor wants the killer to have a bad day, some people like to play a GAME and have some FUN....
-
Current BNP doesn't even work. First skillcheck doesn't work sometimes and the second never works
-
All games are 3 gen games. If the killer decides to do a 3 gen from the start then you're already fighting a 3 gen from the start. So many times when there are 4 total gens left on the map I hear people say in discord "do this gen first because otherwise the killer has a 3 gen" (while it's obviouse the killer is ignoring the 4th gen on the outside of the map). What do you think you're doing at this moment trying to prevent the 3 gen ??? YOURE ALREADY FIGHTING A 3 GEN. As survivor I feel in a lot cases 3gen is survivor sided. The killer never leaves them making 2\3th of the map a safehaven for healing. Just do the far gen first so you got the whole team on the last gen... Killer can't split into 3-4 parts. Only a few killer powers make it harder
-
first skillcheck gives progress for me, the second one doesnt do anything, also no gen animation when hitting the second skillcheck.
edit: seems to be random, now both skillchecks didnt do anything
-
It doesnt matter for them. Multiple perks are broken because of extream synergys with certain killer powers. Something like tinker ruin undying blight hasnt even been looked into. DMS on artist and doctor is completely broken. the pig exploit people started to use, camping bubbas... nothing happens to it. Out of 26 killers only 2 have below 50% killrate (being 49% if i can remember correct), meanwhile they are looking into deadhard because its giving too much survivability... i wonder why so many people run it....
-
I never said camping is against the rules, there is such a thing as unsportsmanlike behaviour to the point that its ridiculous. it was clear he didnt play the game to play it, but just to get salty comments on his profile. dont you understand that with those numbers, 686 pages... not comments

Those stats are irrelevant. Too many factors.
If there is something you dont like, that doesnt mean it is irrelevant... 1 factor or a million factors has litterly nothing to do with how relevant it is. Out of all game survivors experience more deads than escapes, which is not balanced, thats just a fact...
-
The problem is that deadhard is necessary, only 2 out of 26 killers !!! ONLY 2 !!! have lower than 50% killrate (which is 49%...) when they nerf deadhard i wouldnt be suprised to see a 10% increase in killrate for every single killer. On top of that nurse will be like old nurse again since deadhard counters her so hard.

Old ruin was changed because it was in almost every match, and also because it gave free pressure, dead hard is now on almost every match and gives a free health state or at least 1 extra minute of survival.
There is no difference.
"At LEAST 1 extra minute of survival" bit exaggeration hm? just on some occasions if you play bad...
also plz keep in mind if a survivor dies it means game over, killers cant die and will always play a full round. some perk for extra survivability seems fair to me....
-
More and more killers get released that have a power wich makes vaulting a window or pallet a guaranteed hit. Holding W is a meta which is forced upon survivors. looping has become more killer sided instead of a defence that survivors can use to stay alive
-
Can you post the next 5 seconds of that clip? You probably downed him in those 5 seconds, you don't need powers to down a survivor after dead hard, they are just out of lunge reach as there is close to no punishment for missed m1's. On top of that you can just wait 1 second longer before attacking. And let's be honest, you're probably used to cheap latency hits through pallets which worked for multiple years
-
thats what happens when so much killers have strong anti loop powers, its safer to just hold w since vaulting a pallet or window is just giving a free hit to the killer
survivors are forced more and more into this playstyle,
-
i think its a bit overnerfed, i miss the plays where i make myself a juicy target for the killer so my team can escape through the gates while i take the killer to the hatch. i feel like if 1 key only let 1 survivor escape would have been enough of a nerf already
-
bubbas basement, sadly im already there atm
-
did you know that dead hard is a perk for survivors? its not a neutral perk, not a killer perk but a survivor perk, it should do something positive for a survivor which it does. and why shouldnt survivors have "2nd chance perks" ??? survivors need some extra chances , because of the game design survivors can litterly be denied from playing the game. since 50% of the killers love to camp/tunnel at start of the round then why not have some perks to increase survivability?. killer dont have that problem, they are always there till the end of the round.
-
why lie like this? at least make it a bit believable...

That one guy's fun is just as important as 10,000 cry babies. Their fun matters too, but they had their chance when they were first chased.
no, the game isnt just about 1 chase and then its gg, and no 1 guys fun is not as important as the 10000 "crybabies"...
-
Why not simply make a system that depends on amount of gens finished, it should just punish camping very hard early game, this way the killer cant deny the first survivor to actually play the game, it also counters the killers that want to camp the first survivor real quick to get an ez game for the rest of the match, it also counters that the 3 other survivors dont just have an m1 game while the killer is waiting for the first survivor to die. (doing gens agaisnt a facecamper is no counter... its litterly just not playing the game, not the killer not the survivors, the match becomes an actual m1 generator simmulator.) Just make the penalty smaller when more gens are completed, disable it if 2 gens total are completed or whatever but at least do something about these early campers.
I remember a guy playing leatherface that downed the first survivor in 20seconds and hard facecamped the first second he was hooked without any1 around, i checked his profile and he had 1000+ PAGES!! of comments on his profile back to 2016 that he was doing this same thing. people want to have fun playing games, why do 10000's of people have to experience this just for 1 guy his own fetish.
BHVR is slow at everything they do but does it rly have to take 5+ years for a huge design flaw to be addressed? it cant be that hard to make 1 of the systems (the many systems they claim to have but didnt work out) generator dependend, its litterly just a number check...

Thank you!

The in-game report descriptions are a bit outdated I believe. I think the last one (all the way on the right) says you can report for disconnects (or it did at least in the past - I think it still does but I'd have to check that), the game rules page explicitly says you should NOT do that (that even has its own little "section" in the rules page). Game rules page trumps in-game report descriptions (in my opinion).
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2556380#Comment_2556380
Rage quits / disconnects are handled automatically already by the "auto-ban" / timeout system. There is no reason to make a support ticket / in-game report ticket for something that is already handled.
hmm yeah, outdated rules in the game and the actual rules somewhere hidden on a forum site, classic bhvr i guesse

Imagine if police got 100 reports per day about "crimes" like breathing or having your windows closed because it's cold. That's 100 reports per day that they have to sift through and throw out, without mentioning them to any of the higher-ups, because those things are not crimes. That's wasting a lot of their time for no reason.
Don't argue with mods or devs about the rules. They made the rules, they know them better than you or I. If they say it's not reportable, then it's not reportable.
yeah because real life problems can be just solved by changing some code in a game... (this was sarcasm btw)

Support and the people who make the game are completely different people, the Developers (game designers etc), do not see Support tickets, we have separate staff for that. So no, sending Support tickets to report a player is only wasting the time of the Support staff.
There is litterly a report category "unsportsmanlike" with a matching description of OP's situation.
Developers dont see the support tickets, that doesnt mean they dont get information about the reports right? are you saying it doesnt get communicated to devs when the support staff keeps getting the same reports over and over again?
I cant see how this is wasting time of the staff...

trust me, i understand

I don't think solo queue necessarily needs to be buffed. Players are often really... sub-optimal and make poor decisions, position poorly, etc. It's not even about the chases half the time. Players have to be better. No amount of buffs will cause the player who hasn't been hooked to tank hits for the player on death hook in chase 15 meters from them. That's basic game sense that 90% of players lack.
how does this not mean that solo queue has to be buffed? with this logic you assume that killer players in general are smarter people than survivor players, we are talking about the population here where most solo games are lost, there are as much "sub-optimal" killers as there are survivors.

I still remember a match with a 2-man SWF & 2 pubs, a few years back:
I killed the 2 pubs, put 1 of the SWF on the hook & he offs himself to give his buddy the hatch. Him and his buddy had been immersed for 8 minutes at that point, and never tried to save the pubbies even once.
His buddy in end game chat: 'Noob baby killer. ggez. No 4K for you, rofl. get dunked' and more insults.
I'm sitting there thinking 'Only you escaped, and only because your friend exploited bad game design to give you the hatch, and you're going to act like I played badly? Someone has a fragile ego!' ๐
kinda ironic to say they have a fragile ego, here you are 2 years later writing about it ๐

That's not how hitboxes and latency should ever work in a game. In FPS games for example, it always goes in favor of the person doing the shooting. Otherwise you have to aim where someone is going instead of where they are which makes the game far more unplayable than sometimes getting shot "around a corner"
makes sense, if survivors also had weapons to hit the killer with...... maybe you havent noticed yet but this aint an fps game.
-
is this a desperate attempt to keep the current high kill rate? all this shows is that the high escape ratio from the first years have been compensated by the past/current year high killrates.
-
This is what happens when half of the killers have something that make alot loops useless, as well as all those unsafe pallets that litterly help the killer more instead of helping the survivor. over time survivors got nerfed so hard that holding m1 is the better option these days to stay alive for longer. The people that have an issue with survivors holding m1 are only m1 killers without a power to shut down a loop. and for some reason those killers that didnt get a 4k for 1 game also cry about it...
-
hes giving a 1-2 person escape methode because your 3-4 100x in a row claim is just BS, there are alot of cheap playstyles as killer to get at least 2 kills 99% of the time.
Yesterday i had 200 4ks in a row as wraith. the difference between me and you is that you try to make it more believable...
-
C'mon man, yes i can imagine it would have been nice to have a 5th free perk sometimes that could have turned the game, but a 5th perk also means that those main nurses and spirits and other killers that average a 4k can take a 5th perk...
You try to make it sound "fair" by saying that you can only use a hex perk on it, yet 99% of the killers already run hex perks because they are so strong...
Yes survivors have more perks together, lets not forget how weak they are compared to killer perks, and lets not forget something alot killer players seem to forget: a survivor can die in this game and basically gets thrown out of it, a killer cant.
-
Because going for the unhook to try and get a 4man escape makes both killer and survivor have actual gameplay, compared to slugging the 4th which is just boring/no gameplay (1guy floor doing nothing, 1 guy hiding , and killer just searching...
-
With this OoO you may as well make it a killer perk. OoO is said to be broken in SWF because apparently every mouse/keyboard imput is forwarded to all survivors. When playing SWF WITHOUT OoO, there is always some1 that is being chased or has vision on the killer, calling out where the killer is just happens by multiple person instead of 1. OoO is a very good perk when playing solo as it gives info on when you can go for an unhook or where some1 is getting chased (which is all information SWF also have WITHOUT the perk).
The only reasons what gives OoO a stronger advantage in SWF is at the start of the trial: calling out where and which killer it is, and calling out trapper for setting up traps. Swf without OoO will know where and which killer it is a few moments later (and from there they just communciate between eachother where the chase is happening or where you see the killer.)
It would be sad to nerf a perk that gives alot info when playing solo.
A good !!!NERF!!!, sorry, i ment, a good CHANGE would be to disable the perk at the start of the trial which will prevent early callouts/traps setups

They're currently hiring for a new, unnamed project. Could be Deader by Daylight
Whatever it is, I know im not touching that new project. After 5 years they didnt learn anything, instead, against all odds they got even worse.
Their first game went to ######### real quick and the only reason dbd is still going is because there is no competition.
This game is only played because of the rare adrenaline rushes you get every 10 games or so and the tons of free weekends and disscounts, apart from that this game is 1 big unfun mess.
-
It will never be enough, the problem is that killer gameplay is unfun and stressful, a small amount of people actually have fun with it.
The past year devs have tried to make it easy for killer to get ez 3-4k thinking it will make the gameplay fun, they are so blind that they keep doing this with as result the gameplay for survivor has also become very unfun. every single thing that is frustrating for killer that gives survivors a benefit is being removed, yet survivors have to keep dealing with most of killers frustrating stuff, at this point perks like spinechill and deadhard feel more frustrating because there is not much else left that can make you frustrated as killer (which is why alot more of those threads pop up).
Devs and the community also doesnt seem to understand that nerfs on killer side mostly has an effect on just 1 out of the 22 killers. however a nerf on survivor side ALWAYS impacts every single survivor. They just have gone way too far from survivor being OP to killer being OP with a current result of both sides being unfun to play...
they are far beyond the balance of 2kills/2escapes, looking at those last statistics litterly NOT A SINGLE killer goes below a 2k on average. NOT A SINGLE ONE! and it just keeps getting worse and worse for survivors. The only reason this game is still alive is because the constant stream of new people they had come in the game. The pool of new people is running out thank god which will soon bring them in a permanent decline. BUT DONT WORRY! They will come up with some dumb #########, like changing the HUD/animations.
-
Good/fun survivor games already were rare to get, now all normal loops became unsafe loops, all killers with a trash ping made the better loops also unsafe, not to mention getting hit by nurse or spirit in the middle of blink/phase, billy curve hits , blight curve hits, myers and ghostfase getting tons of stalk while doing a wall loops because on your screen youre out of vision but on killers side youre not.... pallet teleport hits ..... ill skip talking about huntress hitboxes... are people this suprised about the DC increase?
Meanwhile on the forum, threads pop up about deadhard too op while killers are having a 4k average killrate...
-
lmao these main killers with their 75% escape ratio in solo queue. So much for that honest part...
-
DS nerf was unnecessary. DS does what any other perk does: give the survivor an advantage.
DS works good against tunneling killers, why does that mean that this perk should only work against tunnelers?
If a killer uses tinkerer he is supposed to go to the gen and sneak up on them, but if he finds another survivor instead, does this mean he is "abusing" tinkerer??? The reason for the nerf is just so dumb, imagine a survivor perk giving an advantage to a survivor...
This much used argument that the survivors with DS have 60s godmode is way too exaggerated, acting like you cant hit the survivor when hes doing a generator or something else. Its litterly a whole perk slot for just that 1 advantage that you get , just ONCE per match, and more than half of the time you dont even get to use it.
-
They just use the PTB to pinpoint game breaking bugs that they overlooked, community feedback about other things doesnt matter.
-
I used OoO in solo games as it gives you good information on when to go for a safe and when not to. Since in most red rank solo games all gens wont be repaired, taking this perk is just suicide as the killer will see you every 30 sec, even when youre not looking at him. ez 4k slug when only 2 players are left.
it will still be a decent perk with a seal team.(the reason why killers wanted this perk to be nerfed in the first place). Another "great" decision by the devs, increasing the gap between solo and swf even more...
-
I think its already dieing but slowly, they already reached most people that could be part of the community. not much decent licensed killers are left that they can use(abuse), as well as the tons of free weekends has ran its marketing course. Corona also gave a big boost to the community.
it probably will just be a decline from now on with short/small waves of players when a new DLC comes out or when there is a free weekend.
like the devs said before, they have trouble keeping old players but not getting new players. As these devs have proven thousands of times that they are amateurs, i doubt that alot players will stay for much longer. They are running out of things to bring in the new players (and im happy for it). They dont deserve the spot that they are in. they milked this "monopoly" too hard, its way too obvious in how they take years to fix things and just add new things no1 asked for. If there is something main killers and survivors agree on, then its that this game is a toxic ######### trash game, but just addictive for some by giving us that 1 out of 10 games that actually felt fun and gave you that rush.
-
Probably not too long anymore. They mentioned before that they have trouble keeping old players but have no problems getting new players. You dont need to be an experienced gamer to notice the big flaws this game has. Alot of gamedevs get tons of ######### from their community, but the dbd devs are just next level, they ALWAYS work on things the community is not interested in and take litterly YEARS to fix obvious things. on top of that , the new things no1 asked for just brings tons of gamebreaking bugs with them.
The size of the current community is mostly because of nonstop free weekends and the licensed killers. the game has just a very broad audiance that they could reech. free weekends wont keep working, they are also running out of decent popular licensed killers that they can use(abuse).
just think about how popular the stranger things series was, at that time they also released the dlc and had a big wave of new people, those people got friends to play cuz of free weekends and stuff. i think this marketing startegy has ran its course as they used it multiple times.
Also corona gave dbd a big player boost, there are just not much NEW people left to add to the community.
I think there will only be a decline in players from now on, with sometimes a very short/small boost when there is a new DLC or free weekend.
If there is 1 thing main killers/survivors agree on, its that this game is actually a trash toxic ######### game, for some players its addictive (looking for that 1out of 10 games that actually feels fun and gives you that rush), those are the ones that stay, but even these people are leaving as they start to understand that these devs will never change and are mostly amateurs lucky to be in the position that they are.
