  • No.

To be honest as much as I love this game

Every single game dev needs to know how much real supporters and gamers hate mobile gaming.

    Just like diabo immortals

Mobile is paypig trash trying to milk cash cows in search of wallet whales.

Pump up numbers for investors and bs that dbd has a million players is straight up lies. You got maybe 60k on steam at peaks

Everyone else is a download for 5mintrs and delete.

  • You don't need the hatch it can be safely removed.

Let the killer open the gate at any time to trigger EGC doing so powers the second gate.

This is to prevent hostage matches.

The only other argument I've seen in this thread is GG EZ 4K free win.

To that I say... the killer played very well to kill the first 3 without hatch... so why would adding the last be any different? Gens escape then Hatch and then powered gates 3 different shots to escape... nah they don't need it they needed to help there team live longer and work more effectively and anyone who lets 3 teamates die should go down with the ship. You just want a free escape (that you worked nothing for. No teamsave or gen)

While the killer no matter what never gets a "free kill" and always has to find-chase-hit-down-hook

  • Increase rewards higher ranks BP shards

    Increase difficulty

purple rank locks 1 perk slot

    red rank locks addons

End of season reset award aura cells or shards based on rank.

  • Disabled.

Don't want to play with anyone outside of my console.

  • Whats the point of smurfing when you get rainbow ranks anywY ?

  • Most killer perks are trash compared to survivor perks

Yeah -- games-as-services are pretty complicated beasts, no doubt. I don't have any context for the gameplay implications of Call of Duty's grind, but I assume it starts you off in a fair better position than DBD does. And at least Overwatch's unlockables are just cosmetics with no gameplay benefit.

I wish Behaviour would do any or all of these things with DBD's perks:

    • Make all perks single-rank.
    • When you unlock a teachable perk, you immediately own at least 1 rank of it on every character of that role.
    • Offer a way bigger selection of perks on the Shrine every week -- like 10 per role (and make them like 50% cheaper).
    • Just outright ditch the Shrine and let us buy perks a la carte with Iridescent Shards.
    • Have "free perk" events where we can just select 2-3 perks to own.
    • Make character-specific dailies unlock a teachable perk from that character's exclusives.
    • Make teachable spawn in the Bloodweb at much more reasonable levels, like 10-15-20.
    • Don't take perks away from the Bloodweb, let us buy all four in one web.

    The problem is economy.

Dbd item and addon aka the powerups

And the perks share the same system and "money" so to increase the ease of one lessens the other and needs a whole system overhaul.

Imagine if every game had full loadouts of pink addons on everyone because there's perks to sink money into... yikes

Yeah, that's a big part of my point. People who reflexively go "it's fine the way it is" seem to always be people with hundreds or thousands of hours in the game, who can't step outside of their own experience to understand what this looks like to a normal player who isn't quite so white-knuckle or singularly hyper-committed.

I myself have racked up 1,700 hours since Nov 2018, and I have full perk libraries on 2 survivors and 2 killers (working on #3 now). That's a major time commitment, but I don't think for a second that the grind I endured is conducive to long-term health for DBD, and I wish it could be made much easier/more accessible for players just coming into it.

The thing that kills me is that these big licensed chapter releases are THE time to overhaul this stuff, but Behaviour drops the ball every time. I predict the usual, which is a huge surge of players who are brought in by the Silent Hill DLC chapter, followed by a big drop-off the following month. This is the way it always goes, when you look at Steamcharts' peak numbers. Those are a bunch of players who are excited for the cool thing that they recognize, shell out for the game, and then drop it because the new player experience scares them away. That kind of churn is insane. Look at May-June 2019, it went from 75k peak to 40k peak. That's nearly a 50% drop-off in players!

Maybe Behaviour's bean counters are getting what they want in terms of cash for an upfront purchase, but four years into a game's life cycle, I would be much more concerned about player retention metrics.

(also re: to @emptyCups post as well)

Yeah thats a big reason to take breaks and now that you put it like that

Online only games are in fact life consuming. Like I have to quit online only for a while and just focus on stuff I missed for months at a time. Currently took a long break to do spiderman outer worlds God of War and everything else i missed

My point was I guess that most online are consumed with grind, cod P12 is hundreds of hours dark matter took forever. Overwatch starts with everything unlocked but good lord do you need some rainbow six time to unlock everyone and all the skins

If you want to complete in competitive games you need that kinda time... and dbd is set up like competitive with ranks and such but the hangup is it pretends to be causal

The thing about live services is they need to evolve with time. They need to make skillchecks progressively more difficult because I haven't missed a great in years...(new players would suffer so they dont) and the grind at launch was half what it is now but still no BP boost. Thats all wack. ( all players suffer now so they should buff BP)

  • Crows startled will return after 15seconds for sure.

Calm spirt the Jake perk let's surviors pass crows without being startled

And the hookgun startles every crow around when shot in 24m radius

With spys the noise only happens when your within range and if they startle crows and if the crow isn't on that return cooldown

  • doesn't the Jake perk lower crow reactions ?

  • only if they negatively affect survivors

  • 64k maxed out games bbq

1mil to lvl 40 per character

Assuming 20min que and game complete

Played perfectly its only around 8 hours or one night to unlock teachables per character.

Realistically 2 hours a night for one week unlocks new perks

Or if you suck, 2 weeks at 2 hours a night per character or a nice long dug in weekened

You dont need all characters to play and you can't expect to run the top lvl in any online game in under a month

I fully agree that its too much tho

Because you need about 4mil after lvl 50 to max a killer will all perks

After you've spend a mil on each for unlocks

Your looking at honestly a year of grind for just one side and that's a generous offering of 32k every game double if you suck

  • Perk 1

Protect hit activation is unrealistic and infrequent. On this rare occasion a perk will punish this by 30 seconds of not healing...

Tell me honestly when will a killer abandon this person ? Won't they just chase them down for 30 seconds ?

Won't the survivor choose not to heal and just do a gen if left alone so the affect is useless ?

I get that its an anti bodyblock perk but its not going to work with any other perks and I can't think of a killer that this helps.

The problem with these perks is that it isn't effective and doesn't work on other killers much less PH

    Perk 2

Tell me honestly. Whats the point of a stealth perk when on use it reveals you ? Only lasts 15 seconds and takes minutes to come back. Not to mention to activate it you have to have a gen to kick... who's to say you will find one partly done after your cooldown ? Think about how empty and weak the affect is and how often you would need conditions to line up perfectly to even use it more then 2 or 3 times in a match.

    Perk 3

A scream reveal outside of 32m means they have 12 seconds full speed to be gone before a killer gets there.

Paired with nurses calling at best you always know when healing is happening this could be useful but I feel like its got to many drawbacks and counters

I can't think of a reason to use them when as killer I'm ever so desperate for gen slowdown or pressure relief. This also does nothing against these tank build surviors that can take honest 4 hits in a row before going down. BT medkit sryn-DH-DS -and the new perk that gives endurance after heals #########. On a mend killer maybe 5 hits some matches ? #########

  • I'm glad they do it

Shows the devs how weak the killer is in real time

If his PTB kill ratio is under 2 they will prolly buff him or his perks

Hopefully they buff those perks because rn my experience is they are worthless

  • Just wait until the animation ends its not that hard. Cryquit is never justified

If you were stuck in the game or fell through a map maybe close the game but a cryquit nah.

  • The killer perks are trash yes...

But the survivors perks omg top tier anti meta

  • I bet the devs laugh everytime they give a false hint at content and watch us get hyped.

  • tank Survivors

Can't wait to see the video of them taking 5 clean hits in less then a minute and then tbagging at the gate

  • Killer perks are weak af

  • So they give a strong killer ability and then completely ruin all the other killers meta and then give him ######### tier perks like always.

    They really do hate killers

Personally I'm excited to see how this plays

I hope the Ptb shows how insanely powerful this new wave of second chance perks is.

I’ll gladly give up BBQ and Pop to counter those things you mentioned

Same and since the cage teliports them away as I understand, it eliminate camping

  • I hope so. Its a hard counter to saves flashlight blinds body blocking and sabo

Oh and it doesn't trigger DS either lol and it's like wonderful for saving time so its like slugging leave everyone and then just cage them when you want i really wanna see how we can play with it.

Sucks that it doesn't work with any of the killer meta and the perks are mostly trash niche stealth. But I can use the perks with other killers just not him so its OK.

  • You are not in fact in b4

Because it was nerfed before it was even announced

  • He's not what I asked for

    But everything I've ever wanted.

    I take it all back

The devs really do care about us

Bing bong get in ur cages filthy Survivors

Your all dead. Dead dead dead. Prymid head is a coming

  • Alien demo skin that changes voice

Pinhead with cenobite skin alternatives possible to swap power loadout with very very slightly alterations. The menu options are there

  • it's lack of killers.

Noone and I do mean noone on console wants to play the weak role just to be bullied playing killer is an awful experience

  • should have always been a thing

I ran the numbers about a year ago I think to get every character P3 all perks it would now take well over 500mil bloodpoints. But I would have to run run the calculations for how many games and how much play time that would be

Lvl 41 for the teachables across 12 characters takes about 2mil each 24mil

Take about 5k/20k for a loss/win newbie. Figure about a more then generous 12k a game average and your looking at about 2000 matches to get perks unlocked

You need a few more mil for a single character you want to then over lvl your web to accually get those unlocks on one single character so you can do builds and explore getting good.

Do that for both sides lol

Survior que is like 10mintues for me Swf matches meaning you always wait to the end every time for your freinds death or no and your looking at 10-20 minutes a match so figure 25min per match from ready up to ready up next match your talking 830 hours wowza

I'm starting to think I've played too much

  • One of the Weakest killers in the game

    Nahhh

I agree 100% This is a real turnoff, as survivor you can stick with Meg I guess and have sprint burst and adrenaline at least, then a couple solid generic perks. And no shrine isn’t the answer since they won’t be able to buy those until they have quite a bit of game times.

Our son wants to play but he doesn’t wanna just do generic, he wants to copy some of those builds from streamers... and I would let him play my account but he’d get steamrolled at red ranks while learning and while I don’t agree with participation awards lol that is a bit tough on the psyche

Same story you had but when I needed to get people into the game I just spent a day deranking.

Not that it matters matchmaking rank20 killer puts you with lvl 10000 survivors

I can get people into survior because its easy and even easier to sfw carry them but I can't convince anyone to play killer after a few rounds of bulling lol

  • 4 years deep into the most grind intensive sweatfest of a online only game

    Yikes to new players.

Good luck getting the perks you need for the meta... whats it now like 12bill to get everyone's teachables 10kmatches(new players loosing often) at a time. Hope they pick a single character from each side and play nothing else and pray that killer doesnt get nerfed

I can't believe people can say the game isnt Survior sided... if survivors don't play horribly there's no way they can die.

I can't believe people can say the game isnt killer sided... if killers don't play horribly there's no way they can lose.

(The fact there are people that are going to be angry because I switched survivors to killers while being happy at the original version annoys me)

This freaking playerbase, the fact that such statements exist boggles my mind. Do any of you even play this game?

Neat quote cutting but do you disagree with the pages of math and facts above ?

    No arguments huh?

Killers statistically loose the game 70% of the time or more depending on killer thats not Survior sided to you then your blind.

The game is heavily relant on Survior mistakes and I haven't seen someone fail a skill check since 2018

Pin any aspect of the game and its crazy how much advantage 1v1 killer vs Survior they have litterally pick any gameplay element. Fov Vision, action speed, locked animation length, objective times, resources allocation, role Ballence, gen charge regression vs repair.

Basegame and perk for perk survivor sided every time

  • bucket.png

Dev said it was gonna be sweet.

  • So your mad that there's a dead end ? That only sometimes spawns

    And you walked into it

And got killed ? So you DC like a baby instead of just bleeding out

I'm glad the DC penalty hit i was with up until you DC and blamed that its killer sided.

Just all it a map issue, take it like an adult instead of tribal suvior vs killer role ism whiney DCtrash

  • I bet on pinhead as well

  • Addons are pretty generic and only "buff" the character

something should change the way the power works like when the doc makes pallet illusions or snares on freddy

Annnd what does it look like ? The spector I mean

  • @Blueberry said:

She's pretty bad. Not as low as say Clown or Legion, but she's down there.

Her main issue is her ambush being trash. 9/10 times you are better off just uncrouching and going for an M1, that is a sign of poor design when it's not even worth using. It's too telegraphed, just remove the roar from it and now it's decent. It's too high risk for little reward to use. I also think her viewpoint while in crouch is too low, it needs to be raised.

Her traps need to be reverted to how they worked at end game before, the change was unneeded. Rule Set #2 in base kit.

Lastly she just needs an addon overhaul, most of her addons are trash.

The ambush problem is the main thing that is holding her back but she does still need those other things as well.

    Agree

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

I posted this in another thread, it applies here too:

One survivor can do all 5 gens in 400 secs. That's 6.6 minutes. So lets say 7 and a half minutes for time to run in between gens (450 secs). The time only goes down from there as 2 survivors working on gens cuts that time in half.

The killer by contrast has to get 12 hooks, thats 24 stabs assuming nobody heals. That means the killer has to stab someone every 19 seconds, and that time includes having to hook and find the next stab.

This is mathmatically impossible for the killer to get a 4k unless the survivors do something very stupid. The reason billy and nuse do so well is because theyre able to end chases very very quicly when a good killer uses them and their average stab rate is probably well below that 19 secs. Freddy only does so well cause hes able to teleport across the map and his stab rate is slightly lower than 19 between the snares and the teleporting.

So yes, unless youre running a really good killer character, this game is absolutely survivor sided still.

That doesnt mean they should balance around killers getting a 4k every game because that would be stupid, but increasing that 19 to something closer to 25 or 30 would be more fair.

Thats why ruin worked so well. It increased that 450 secs, and its why playing killer is so much more stressful. Youre under a serious time crunch

    So so much yes.

Pressure 7 gens and 4 separate players as one human being is nuts. Fight against 12 perks and 4 tools and boxes of tools around the map with a killer loadout of 4 perks and 1/6 of them (hexs) can be disabled by survivors

Remember as killer when you run for 10 seconds you cover 4.4mps seconds of ground in the map 44m

Surviors all run during those same 10 seconds 160M of map covered

You over estimated and forgot all the extra steps killers need in a find-chase-hook-down-carry-hook...

if you match hooks(killer obj) and

    Gens+gate(survior obj) 420sec

U have a find-chase-hook-down-carry-hook in 35 seconds flat that needs to happen mistake less 12 perfect times all

while being at a 1/4th the map coverage of survivors and having a limited FOV giving you reduced information and awareness the entire time

I can't believe people can say the game isnt Survior sided... if survivors don't play horribly there's no way they can die.

  • so hag wraith ?

With hag strong for her teleports

And wrath strong for his stealth approach

I see you've taken the worst of each to use them for both

110 for a killer with no mobility is gonna be rough rough rough ur looking at 3E every game

Neat perks tho I'd use them in builds and stuff

Obliv doesn't work for against SWF

  • idk I don't want someone who was beaten by children and boldness

Sounds alot like a killer that would be teased and bullied

I'd rather have someone strong that could mess people up
