Okay... could someone be more specific about that Nurse challenge? I might know a Nurse main.
You know at least one, but one of them is on a hiatus at the moment ...
-
It would make the achievement easier to get but it's not that hard so no.
-
Camping is so much of an issue virtually nobody seems to use it.
On another hand, when I play survivor, camping is relatively rare so it makes sense to use other perks.
-
I've been so disappointed by that mess of a killer that I've not played DbD since last Wednesday.
-
Nice :)
-
Thanks for the tip.

- Alf's experience is completely irrelevant to the conversation, because the entire point is that this build doesn't require much skill. Specifically in this video, there is nothing he did that was particularly skillful
- Game balance needs to account for extremes--in this case the strongest possible builds & killers
- 99% of players play in pub lobbies, so of course we're critiquing the build with respect to their skill
- The video demonstrated just how easy this was to replicate on larger maps like Ormond and Suffocation Pit
- Again, this video is showcasing average players, for whom the game needs to be balanced around
This game isn't showcasing average players.
It's showcasing one of the most trained try-hard Nurse against below average players.
(And if you think they are average, it may explain something else ...)
-
It depends on what you play and how you play it.
I have no idea of your experience but I can tell you the only thing that usually bothers me is the gen speed. Survivors trying nasty shenanigans with me usually end-up crying tears of salt in the chat. (The funny shenanigans are a different category that I like to see.)
If @Jasix is right, I can't encourage you enough to follow his recommendation.
As for survivors trolling, the only tip I can give you is to out-troll the trolls. Don't go for a win : go for pain. It may some time to acquire the right reflexes though.
Note: I play most killers, strong and weak. I enjoy Huntress quite a lot, but also Trapper who is kind of weak and yet ...
-
It seems to works randomly.
-
What amazes me is that watching that video, the first thought isn't "wow, these survivors are really bad at this" or "how the MMR grouped a comp player with that lot?".
The second thought would be : "anyway ..."

That was the confusion with the phrase hook instance. Apparently it means each time the person is hooked not hook state
Sounds pretty clear though.

The best outfit is the basic one that makes you look like a baby Nurse.

Its not a connection issue, I was teleported under the map. I explained in the video and blinked out, and combined with that I think it gave me multiple bugs in one
If you teleport under the map, you fall. There shouldn't be any up.
Next time put a timestamp on the interesting part of the video, it'll be easier.
-
No point writing about it. The issues are already well known and will be fixed sooner or later. Until then, put it in the fridge.

I use it to purposely handicap myself instead of a dark cinture, LMAOOO
Just play without perks nor addons then.
And don't worry, a connection issue will not trip the same (attempted-)cheat-detection traps.
-
That's a connection issue.
I had something similar with Wesker chasing a survivor. At some point I couldn't move anymore until the chased survivor finally got disconnected.
-
I've been called a cheater way too many times by players who had no idea for how long I was tracking them, or the tracks they left, or the birds they've disturbed, or the sound of their breath, or ... pfff, way too many things.
To consider this kind of comment as an indication of cheating. More tangible proof is needed.
(And let's not even start about blind downs across the map)
-
Nemsis.
Wesker has too many issues at the moment.
-
Can we not? It feels really lame.

One of the reasons it might take so long to ban is that they tend to do ban waves instead of quick individual bans. At least that's what I've heard anyway.
It's not that. Individual reports with proof are usually taking 3 to 4 weeks.
But there are various tripwires (probably both on the clients and the servers) that are used to automatically "mark" cheaters. After some time, they all get banned in one fell swoop. It' s a common practice to get all these absolute losers together.
Many cheaters that have already been caught are still completely oblivious of it.
-
A 2/10 maybe to play as. I feel stupid about buying the DLC.
I haven't versed him yet.
-
Hopefully they'll fix it in a week or two.
-
He certainly isn't good.
I got my fill already. I'll get the adept and then he'll join Onyro and the other killers I never use.
-
I don't like him very much.
He isn't very good in loops and his power is easy to dodge and slow to charge.
At least he isn't as clunky an in the PTB.
He isn't nearly as bad as Sadako though.

I've been using it for the past few of hours, roughly 8-10 games or so, just to stop teammates from suiciding on their first hook for another 30 seconds. I see them struggling, I run in and hit em with it, then if it's safe to unhook, I do it, otherwise I try to lead the killer away, or go back to doing a gen while the killer camps. It's especially effective in multi-level maps Like Midwhich and the Game, where-in I can run above or under the hooked survivor, hit em with it, and go back to my gen without ever presenting the killer a new target to chase.
Out of my matches today so far, I've had at least 6 survivors attempt the suicide too early, and using Reassurance to shut that crap down has been a god send.
@Roaroftime said:
Reassurance is amazing please use it since most killers camp, just had a camping Wesker and we managed to pop 4 gens whilst two different people were hooked but everyone brought reassurance we got so much value and it punishes the killer for their boring play style, like if u wanna stand and stare at a survivor all game then by all means do it for longer lmaoo, kind of sad
Both very effective uses of that perk.

Yeah, when used properly. Most people don't use it properly, though.
About half the survivor I verse who are using it, are doing it properly. Granted, it's pretty rarely equipped to begin with (I see maybe 3 or 4 a week)

I had only two DC against me tonight : one with Bubba and one with Mastermind.
My Nurse games : no DC.

Not really, i played with my 2 friends.
Perk was useless. Do you know why? My teammates knew i was going to use the perk. So i was only one who runned to hook. I used the perk. And then i back to gen. My teammates was doing gens.
Guess what? Game still ended with 2 kills. Average camper killer games usually ends with 2 kills. This perk changed nothing. So i can not see why i should get this perk in to trials.
That's too bad. I had great hopes for that perk. Maybe it needs some tactic yet to be found.

you guys are throwing the term "killer perk" around way too much. self-care is a killer perk, it wastes time in a way that mostly benefits the killer. bhvr's weird mettle of man change last patch was a killer perk because you couldn't do anything without losing it and the killer knew it.
reassurance is just a quirky situational perk.
Self-care is a very good perk, when used properly. It has saved my ass many times.

Think for solo-q it's not worth it, but swf's will be able to make use of it, if one person or 2 bring it i guess?
That's probably right.

I used it for like 15 games.
It did not help against campers, i give up with this perk. Garbage perk. Thanks BHVR for nerfing it for camper killers. They are happy with all changes.
Solo I presume? The perk didn't suddenly became bad because it cannot be used ad nauseam.
I'm still hoping for an SWF using it properly. Maybe in a few days.

The killer and the two survivors, so their perks are shared level 3 to all my killers/survivors.

It's not to promote variety or challenge or skill.
It is literally just there to get butts in seats.
That would make sense. But I thought there was also the underlying idea of getting players with the "right" skills as teammates and opponents.

You've had a better experience than me. I reported a subtle speed hacker that turned blatant to get hatch. I did everything properly and reported them with video evidence. 30 days and not banned. I know cause they're on Steam and a small streamer.
And the ticket is closed?
-
@Veinslay said:

They do. I've got a list of these.
The last one I've reported just got banned yesterday. It took 25 days though.

I'd never use that, can't trust it to pick the lower tier stuff so I can spend less to level up more. There's a smart way to do bloodwebs if fast levels is what you're looking for and I doubt dbd would get it right.
Edit: oh man and to think of the good stuff it would likely skip out on... oh man no ty
I don't care about "the good stuff". The time I spend in the bloodweb is as mind-numbing as sitting on a gen undisturbed. It's minutes of time wasted.
That being said, among the "auto-buy" proposition, one was to instantly fill the shortest path to the item you click on.
-
I was about to buy the chapter, then I realized I had to p3 three characters.
I've not even started the game. I'm not in a hurry.
The web-autobuy feature that has been requested so many times would be very helpful right now.

So then why are good survivors achieving exactly that? Get good?
When I read the forums I can't help but be amazed at all the players who manage to mind-game, juke and bamboozle me. That's more than half my opponents nowadays. They know every trick.
Maybe they are mind readers, or cheaters? Surely they can't simply be good, can they?
-
I would be surprised if there wasn't a at least one new bug with the release.

After midnight, MMR tends to fail more often than not. (e.g. if you live in Europe, it would be that time)

That killer was more stubborn I was the one giving up she would waited probably hours there and well she didn't even down me when I come to her she continued blocking me few minutes and headnodding. Im surpriced she didn't bleed me out that's what that kind of killers usually do.
At least you know whose time is more valuable.

I would not blame him for that. It's a pretty well known fact rifts are often basically throws.
But I would blame blaming the killer.

Yeah I guess killer is that entitled to 4K that he waits 30 min standing there looking around. For the record in that 30 mins he could got multipe 4K:s in other matches just ridicious to waste that much time for it.
Maybe I'm missing something but it looks like you also have waited 30 minutes. And if it's true, you were equally as stubborn as the killer, both as right or as wrong about it.

@Seanzu said:
Temporary bans do not show on steam profiles, this is part of the reason why people think BHVR don't do anything, only permanent game bans will show.
Thank you. This explains that. The specific case was of two jerks who were playing against other survivors (repeat two-man sandbagging). I caught it on video but they don't have any game ban. I've seen game bans for other cases so I wanted to know if it was worth reporting that kind of scum or not.
I was assuming it wouldn't be a permanent ban, hence my question.
-
I think the perk change is perfect.
It both removes the hostage situation that would have stopped me playing survivor in solo queue and kind of block crybabies from killing themselves on hook.
I'm pretty sure the aforementioned crybabies will now be happy about it though. I call that a bonus.
-
Gens are faster than ever.
Many maps are still busted.
Any good team will do gens in five minutes.
If they ever make tunneling too difficult, win rates will most likely drop significantly. Then they'll have the choice to revert it or to make gens even slower (or finally prevent doing them in parallel). They also could make gens reparations require pieces to find and bring. After all, the only player who is doing something interesting is the tunneled one. Doing gens is boring and easy : the antithesis of fun.
I don't see it fixed anytime soon.

Could you explain why that's a problem? If someone mains a character with near 400 wins in a row is saying that the character deserves to be nerfed, I'd say that holds weight.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3150132#Comment_3150132
I see your point but can you show me someone else with anywhere near that many wins on another killer? Best I can think of is Otzdarva with 100 Plague wins, but that was before MMR. As for the comment that the survivors are bad, everyone occasionally comes across a god squad, and you're telling me he never did?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3150227#Comment_3150227
And he still went and made a video saying to nerf her. He understands that she is not fair and okay for the game.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3150401#Comment_3150401
Um, it's not one opinion from one nurse main. People are constantly saying to nerf nurse, but are always met with the same responses "you don't even play nurse" "show us your gameplay" "you probably suck". I used Alf as an example of someone who holds the most weight so people stop making the same replies.
Just a thing about the playing Nurse. You seem to misunderstand it. The suggestion to play Nurse is to learn how to verse her more easily. The gameplay requests are to be able to point out mistakes. Alf may hold "weight" for you and some, but he is only a content creator and an extreme case. Worth : none.
-
@Brokenbones said:

Not a fan of his content myself but he's the person people never shut up about with regards to Nurse
Mind explaining your point a bit further
Let's see ...
The guy has an insane amount of experience on her, so he tends to see stuff from his perspective (it's basically a corollary of Dunning-Kruger). On another hand, he seemed to have discovered the concept trigonometry only recently so maybe I'm overestimating him ... (he had a recent video about this where he seemed genuinely amazed by the effects of blinking upward, but I don't know if it was true or only for show)
The guy does his streaks with the add-ons that almost everyone said were busted (and are rightly fixed in the next patch) but told he was using it "to show it was broken" (as if it was needed, especially given the difference of experience with his usual opponents). On another hand, he has used stretched resolution "because it's easier on the eyes" too, so, yeah ...
Also, something that's true for him and any streamers: it's a business.
The explanation from @SuzuKR about why AA wasn't an issue seemed reasonable. I'm guessing once players would have been used to it, it would have been pretty weak (as Starstruck is against good teams). Thankfully the devs have statistics and keep monitoring the perks and addons, so they'll keep tuning everything.

@Raptorrotas said:
Excuse my UsVsThem, but quite a difference that killera are expected to be content with 3 kills while nobody expects of a survivor to just not escape through the open gate, isnt it?
I wouldn't call it a "us vs them". I don't think it's that. And I'm not sure how to explain it.
When I play killer, I don't mind giving the hatch, maybe because the trial is basically over at that point. At worst I lose a few points and maybe a pip.
When I play survivor though, it feels ... weird. It's still me, just in a different role. We'd need a psychologist to get some hypothesis about why.
