I'm a nice survivor, why do i never get matched up with killers like you :( need to make my sessions late night ha
I've players against many nice killers. I don't think it's rare. Yesterday night I've played with friends. I'm ~3k hours, two of them don't even pass the 50 hours : too big of a difference for a good MMR I suspect. The killers were consistently too strong for us (I'm not good enough to carry) and we got blasted pretty fast. Hatch was given every time.

Yeah the skilled huntress trophy/achievement I can't get it done very well cause I suck at hatchet plays (kind of how I suck with flashlights) there is no cursor to give me an idea of where I am throwing and because I am using console it is harder to aim than on PC
You'll get better at it. I absolutely suck at flashlight yet I got the hatchet achievement and I regularly get cross-map hits. It went better from around the10k hatchets thrown. Practice make perfect.

" If they item / char swap last second"
I see so many post about people getting triggered by this. There are so many times I remember at the last second I wanted to equip something but don't because I think the killer is going to think it's personal and go after me.
You are wise to do so. It always look bad.
I avoid changing anything after having readied myself.

I'm not sure what the blink attacks have to do with anything, other than to show that you play lots of nurse, but I've got 40k -you can check-, and since I started gathering my stats on nightlight I can see I have a winrate (3k+) of 88% and a loss rate (0, 1 kill) oh 5%. I don't use add-ons and don't feel like they're needed at all, I only rely on aura perks + surge cause I'm too lazy to kick gens. My build has been basically fixed for the past 2 years
Nurse IS op when paired with strong builds. Even in those games I lose in terms of escapes, I never end up utterly rolled over, and it's always a 6-8 hooks games. What I'm saying is that if I were using add-ons the result would have been a lot more in my favor.
That's the point of giving that number, yes. A player with 6k blink attacks doesn't play as well as one with 12k and so on. Not sure how I can check (would love to) but what it shows is that if you play a lot, you get better with her. The proportion of players with that much experience is rare and it's pretty much normal to win against less experienced players. Surely everyone can understand that.
I'm sure my win-rate will be higher in a few thousands of blinks. Especially given that to improve faster I often play with nothing at all (or only Franklin, because it's too funny against clickers). I sometimes get rolled over, if I can't find the stealthy survivors on certain maps.

Ahhh so my theory of Survivors moving to Killer are part of the increase of camping and tunneling issues
It's at the top of the possible causes for me as well.
The game hasn't changed much and my playstyle hasn't either. I didn't notice much changes in mid MMR (I'm kind of average as survivor) so I can only imagine the "perpeutal camping/rage-quits" are in low MMR, exactly where a new killer would be. Add to that that the killer queues are slightly longer and the survivor ones slightly shorter : it fits nicely.
-
It happens often. Whenever I'm being been accused to do "nothing", my reply is simply "yes, and I've got 24K for it". (Or whatever score I get)
You can do two gens, two unhooks and kite the killer for a minute without getting downed a single time : survivors oblivious of the flow of the trial will not understand what you did.

"All the time" isn't meant to be interpreted as "every match" but I easily lose 1 out of every 4 or 5 matches. At high MMR you run into good groups who know how to counter nurse quite often.
Then again, I'm not using range addons or Starstruck, because I don't think she needs them.
To be fair, Starstruck rarely works against a good team, as for range addons they are mostly useful for map traversal (after the patch). What kind of survivor runs so predictably that a long range blink is able to get him? Not a very good one.

I'm sorry but what
Like ????
I don't even know what to say, like, you're either lying about 'losing all the time' or about having 'over 1000 hours on nurse' otherwise I don't see how you losing consistently on her is even remotely possible
I've got about 3k hours now (on three accounts). I've more than 24k blink attacks on Nurse. I still lose pretty often.
How? Because contrary to the impression given in the "Nurse-OP" echo chambers, there are a lot of survivors who understand the game, understand her, know how to verse her and make it hard to win. Get that : I even lose in Midwich if I don't use an adequate detection perk.
It's also consistent with the last statistics offered by the devs.

Same argument, different words. The work of constant nurse defenders who aren't ready to see her get some form of a nerf because she's ridiculous regardless of whether or not you say " Git gud " In nicer, more illusive terms, so i'll just, i dunno....state the obvious so that it shuts down this topic.
You can't really...play AROUND her power, that's her problem. Unless any of you are literal superhuman beings who think beyond the speed of sound itself, you couldn't tell me you can predict where a nurse is going to blink, when they're going to do it and how far they might go. That's what makes the most unpredictable, nigh-impossible killer to stop. I can list a few killers who are easy to telegraph, like Huntress, Pyramid head, Dead Slinger, Nemesis, Trickster; y'know the one thing they all have in common? While their attacks are versatile, They're all L I N E A R Meaning you can learn to play around their main powers and render them (For the most part.) Kinda useless.
You can't do that with nurse, Nurse is FAR from linear; she's so versatile, the amount of things she could do with her power is actually over the top, whether it's baiting a survivor into an Early DH, Baiting them into trying to spin said killer, herding them in one direction or into a dead zone; she has the ability to do that and that's what makes HER power oppressive and impossible to predict. The ONLY counter-play, i've seen killers try to hide behind is "Be less predictable." Kinda hard to do if you can't even telegraph her moves so you can react to her plays. Her blinks are quite literally in an instant, and no one can pre-emptively assume she's going to teleport (relating to my first point made) and spin suddenly, no one here is superhuman or has god level feats; we're not goku, we don't move at light speed.
I'm sure you all understand this quite well but refuse to take the fact that at the VERY LEAST, she need a rework or some sort of change so that her power isn't downright oppressive in the hands of a player who understands her power ( And isn't downright useless in the hand of those who dont.)
I play enough Nurse to see survivors being able to do that just fine. I don't want to believe they were all genius-level IQ. After all there are only a few things to keep in mind to do it.
You see, the problem with all the ones ranting against Nurse is they they consistently demonstrate they don't know how to play. And when someone explains what they do wrong and what they need to do, they simply don't listen.
The basic points always come back to : play her, hundreds of matches, see how actually good survivors do it. (But of course it takes some effort.)

Ladies and Gentlemen… I present you the Killer mindset. A mix of undeserved arrogance and deliberate ignorance of facts. A nurse’s high skill curve doesn’t mean she should be all powerful. That seems to be your main misunderstanding. I’ve put in thousands of hours as well. If I’ve mastered survivor should I be uncatchable? These players aren’t ‘better’ than me. Well, I mean sure… some are. I’m not that arrogant. But these Nurse mains are just exploiting an imbalance in the game. They are bringing a gun to a fist fight and then patting themselves on the back for their awesome fighting skills.
Given that I play against survivors who have not even 1000 hours and play right against Nurse, as well against survivors with several thousand of hours who haven't got a clue, I'm leaning towards: you simply don't know how to play against her.
Branding whoever doesn't agree with you "arrogant", basically branding him, using a basic fallacy instead of discussing doesn't weight towards your credibility.

I saw a Nurse the other day with no perks and range addons. Team suicided at 5 gens
You can only imagine the Nurse must have been thinking "I'm such a god! Killing these teams perkless!"
No. I often play without perk nor addons and when it happens what I think is "why does the MMR pits me against rage-quitting newbies".
It's rare though. Most of the time I go against decent or strong teams who play to the end (and win).

The double standards are absolutely hilarious.
BHVR nerfs one single perk with a note alluding to her and other killers given the pluralized description, and this is suddenly "this single killer is holding back perk balance".
But buffing 17 perks that are good or insane on her and releasing 40 perks that are okay, great, or insane on her while never once changing her or stating she is an issue is… inconvenient to remember, I guess.
BHVR nerfing other perks due to other killers having problematic interactions with it is… also inconvenient to remember, I guess.
And what makes it even funnier is it’s over a perk that logically isn’t good on anyone, even Nurse. You can start 0m from the Nurse and exit the range before the pickup animation can even finish, meaning she can’t even look around or move yet till you’re already gone.
And if you’re in a corner or somewhere you can’t do that, all it takes is hopping into a locker for a little bit till they hook and leave. Even with Starstruck, unless they have Infectious/good game sense/saw you physically or scratch marks or whatever, that would remove AA spotting you, which would also mean Nurse wouldn’t have an immediate target to laser with Starstruck either. And even besides Starstruck/Infectious/AA/etc, survivors should be split up against Nurse regardless anyways.
Don't use facts and logic. It's not fair.
-
No, it's not because of toxicity. It's only a factor.
Mainly, it's because of efficiency.
And sometimes it's because of stupidity.
e.g. Survivors "challenging" the killer, trying to get his attention away from another ... when they are already dead on hook.

IS BORING . and takes zero skills. basically camp cause u can't play the game . this is how i see it as surv main. fair/unfair it makes me wanna stop gaming after meeting this behaviour continously.
You say that like if sitting on gens wasn't boring and taking zero skills.
Yes, it is boring, but you only look at it from one side.
Yesterday, Lery as Huntress : stupid map, I'm already not interested anymore but I go seek a survivor nonetheless. Survivors are stealthy and it takes almost one minute to find one and thirty more seconds to down and hook him on one corner. At that point, BBQ shows three survivors pretty far away, busy on three separate gens. I start running towards the closest one but during the next ten seconds, all three gens pop. I've watched that movie many times already. I know they'll keep hiding and do two gens and maybe attempt a save. I'm looking at maybe another chase and maybe another down and then it'll be game over : boring. So I go back to the hook : if they want the save, they'll have to work for it, or leave. I really really don't care if they do it or don't. I just want to move to the next match ASAP. (And then when they finally all came after the gens were done, I managed to kill them all. Way more efficient than playing whac-a-mole.)
Which makes me think that Reassurance will not work the way many expect it to.

I will be so glad to give you some fun builds 😍
Here's the build that is very good against pallets and punishes very safe survivor play pretty well: Add ons: Kintsugi Teacup (breaking pallet or wall recharges power) and Uchiwa (getting pallet stunned recharges power), Enduring, Spirit Fury, Brutal Strength, a perk of your choice (Fire Up can be good).
Another fun build is where you can combine Furin (phase sound is heard by all survivors) with Dead Man's Switch and force survivors to stay on gens while you're giving them the global phase sound. I would recommend combining it with a duration add on (Yakuyoke Amulet, Kaiun Talisman or Shiawase Amulet) to give them the phasing sound longer and potentially easily sneak up on them for a gen grab and also combine it with an info perk like Discordance.
Wakizashi Saya (teleport back to the husk) plus Dragon's Grip. This one also goes well with duration and definitely Discordance. You can kick a gen, phase away and bamboozle a survivor into touching the gen if they're greedy. It is situational but it's so awesome when it works.
I've been using this perk build on her a lot lately: Plaything, Pentimento, Shattered Hope, and another perk of your choosing. I've gotten 5 stacks of Pentimento twice with it. Oblivious is amazing on Spirit so this build works very well. You can use whatever add ons you want with this.
Anyway I hope your Spirit matches go well! 😊
An update on your suggestions: That Pentimento build is pretty neat. So far I've only managed 3 but it helps pacing the trial. :)
(In a few days I'll try the other builds ;) )

Don't forget to use some kind of Unbreakable along with it.
-
Although I agree the DS stun nerf may be unwarranted, it's only inefficient when a survivor doesn't plan where to go down (e.g. next to a vault, under a pallet, ...)
If they never revert it to 5 seconds, planning goes a long way in making it useful.
-
Survivor: generalist (evasion, detection, help)
Killer: specialist (depending on the killer's strong points or weaknesses)

I've seen her six times, total.

Map offerings should instead deny the relative realm from appearing
Although a team could block the couple of good realms easily.

Last time I went such a team (in RPD, with boons on to of each other) I've simply downed one and camped his body, repeatedly downing him whenever he sprang up until he bled out. And repeated the process until the last one escaped through the hatch. (They were focused on avoiding a single death so they didn't progress gens)
Getting called a salty try harder in the end game chat felt so good.
If you go against little jerks like that, don't try to win. Only try to ruin their fun.

Lucky you. I barely see two during a day and they are rarely good.
A good thing BHVR has extensive statistics. They can check singularities like that in detail ....

The two fora have different standards. Yes, it can be a touch silly that you can say anything short of hatespeech ingame and be safe, but get actioned on the forums for using the word 'jerk' - but it is what it is.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142058#Comment_3142058
It's not the 'slight digs' that are the problem.
'Get over it'...ugh. See, this - right here - is the attitude that annoys me. Because you're shifting the blame from the person going out of their way to try and make someone else feel unhappy, and instead blaming the person for reacting like a human being and not being numb.
People are supposed to feel bad when someone says something like that. Of course, there is such a thing as being oversensitive, but having no reaction whatsoever when someone is a butt after a fair, hard fought game - I'm not sure if that's healthy.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142515#Comment_3142515
I...don't know if 'please sir may I have another' is a healthy response either.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142362#Comment_3142362
The intent is the exact same.
You're using the protection of your monitor to lob nastiness at other players in the hopes that you can upset them, and make them enjoy the game less.
This almost always comes from a position of hate - and why certain forms of hate are tolerated and some forms aren't...that's a bigger discussion.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142484#Comment_3142484
What you are describing isn't toughness.
Being 'tough' isn't being inhuman. Tough people aren't unfeeling, they can just push through.
Two things though.
- What you are describing is being numb, to the point of masochism.
- Why are you focused on the person being insulted 'toughening up', rather than focusing on the person doing the insulting?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142492#Comment_3142492
If you're feeling guilty, it's generally because you know you've done something wrong.
Saying 'you're at fault for making me feel guilty for doing bad things' is something I'll never be able to get behind.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142447#Comment_3142447
I...think you've misunderstood something important here:
- Trash talking between opponents who know each other generally stems from a rivalry, and a rivalry inevitably involves mutual respect.
- It's almost always played up to the Nth degree for publicity's sake too - very seldom is it genuine.
- There is a massive difference between banter within a rivalry, and being nasty to a stranger. Esports organizations absolutely have suspended or penalized players for their behavior on Ladder - because they understand this difference.
- Other Esports organizations also do suspend or penalize players for trash talk in or after a match. Nina, for example, got tournament banned for trash talking PartinG - and this was widely criticized for being too lenient. Again, because there is a difference between some banter and being obnoxious - and people can usually spot the difference.
- The difference being - one is designed to 'play up' a certain kind of relationship, generally for the sake of publicity and drama, and the other to upset or disrespect an opponent.
- Trash talk after a game, especially involving strangers can only be the latter.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142515#Comment_3142515
Human beings don't stop being human beings just because they are behind a monitor, or an avatar.
Somehow I expected you to be better at reading than that.

Less certainly, as there is nothing to gain there.
-
The goal of the killer is to kill all survivors. Many, like myself, will usually not care getting the last kill but nobody should be blamed to get the highest score he can get.
And four minutes?
- Either the killer went to look for the last survivor after your first down; and your teammate could have healed you.
- Either he waited on you until you bled out but then he wasn't really trying to get a 4k was he?
After the next patch it may very well become more common.

There is lots of material on youtube and google if you're curious. In short the way vsync works can drastically increase input latency
I've checked and found nothing relevant among the videos I've seen. If you have a video that points to a clear explanation of the difference, please share.
vsync only changes slightly the time the next frame is displayed to avoid tearing. At 60fps, it's 0.016 seconds.
Playing on a keyboard has a way higher delay because of the key travel time. It's shorter on a gamepad. Add to this our own latencies and skill checks always need to be anticipated.

Either way this is pointless and the same fix applies to all three possibilities.

They are just being salty. They use some trumped-up reason to cast the loss on someone because it's easier than seeing the match as a whole and looking at their own mistakes.
Don't worry about it. The game has perks and many synergies for a reason and players are free to do as they please. Self-care is actually part of a very efficient high-end build, without Botany Knowledge.

For a patch that was supposed to stop camping and tunneling, I sure see a lot more camping and tunneling.
That patch was there to shake up the meta and to increase killer win rates as they were too low.

I think the strongest argument he put forward was the sliding/hug tech thing helping people learn Blight or have a better time playing him with controller/on console. If that's true, I think he should def get some QOL changes to help those people
But from a balance POV I really don't understand the logic of defending a bug with the logic of "it makes blight players play less effective, it's just to show off"
I missed the part where the bug was defended with that argument.

"if you remove it, more blights will use bump logic aka playing him the way he's intended to be played and survivors will hate this because it has little to no counterplay/it's more effective than hug tech"

One way to be sure: start playing killer, the same one, for a while (say 50 games or more).
Wraith would be a good choice.
Let's see then how "OP" it is.
(Given that this is your first post, I'm assuming bait but hey, benefit of the doubt)

When playing killer, the vast majority of the time survivors don't aim the flashlight correctly, don't hold it steady, or don't hold the beam for long enough.
As a note, even when blinded, a killer can still hear and move. They can go in the direction of the survivor's sounds until the blindness clears so they aren't that far away from them for a hit.
True. I've often get a survivor blinding me at a pallet only to eat an hatchet in return while I still have the blind mask on screen.
Killers use sound a lot.

A very good Blight streamer has argued that fixing "hug tech" will make Blight stronger.
Beside the obvious risk to break every collision in the game, I'm not worried too much.
