The problem is I want to play but nothing feels fun. Like I want to play the game but then I launch it look at the killer roster feel no interest in any of them look at the survivor button and exit the game.
You are bored, if you can't get any idea of something fun to do, stopping is the only choice. (Before playing may make you genuinely sick)
-
1k ? Try 3k. You can vary tactics, killers, goals, ...
There are perks. You can take any combination of 4, 3, 2, 1 or even no perk.
If all you care about is getting 4 kills and chasing, scare-jumping, baiting or fooling survivors isn't something you enjoy, this may not be for you.

Oh shmug!
Did they fixed his TR tho? Oo
I'm not sure, I've only glanced over the notes for that bug and the fat-shaming obstacles.

Very glad to see it is in the latest patch, it is a better late than never thanks BHVR!
Was sick of those low integrity scummy players exploiting this and now they will have to actually play without exploiting
I was lucky enough to only verse one. Some people do not know the meaning of the word "honour".
-
I had to check twice to be sure but yes, Eruption really is the perk that makes you scream when you don't release the gen (among other things).
I don't get the fuss about it.
-
Of course not. It's not a very strong perk (except maybe against beginners who don't know perks yet).
-
The DC/hook-suicides are clearly messing the chances to pip.

Why? You can make any killer look insane if you only upload wins. Hag is good against most solos and pretty trash against SWFs. You just need a destroyer of traps and Hag is doomed.
If you check his videos, his opponents are often quite
annoyinggood. -
You are joking, right?
I find that perk to be a mild annoyance at best.

both are by design.
Disabling make your choice will not change anything about the knight's capacity to instant down near hooks because he has iri add-on called Knight contract where every 4th guard applies exposed in 12 meter radius for 8 seconds, One of his changes is that he can M1 his own guard to cycle guards to the 4th guard to always have exposed guard. so even if you disable MYC, That particular knight player can just use iri add-on and do same thing.
given the knight's balance changes further nerfing both purple add-on's and map of realm while also shadow nerfing him with his bug-cast time. it is pushing knight to use unfun strategies to be effective. In other words, blame the dev's for bad killer balance.
No, they aren't both by design. They've fixed the issue in 6.4.2.

One is a bug, the other is by design.

-
I don't care too much about eggnog (now that I know what it is, and how its called "here") but there is some kind of sweet bread only available in December and that I love.
I can tell you if it wasn't "rare", I wouldn't care so much about it and I wouldn't go specifically in bakeries to buy it.
Cakes (the real stuff, think artisanal wedding cake) are available all year and yet I don't buy one every day. At most, I buy one for a birthday or something, because it's special.
What was the subject already?
Ah, yes : nonsense.
-
It seems pretty obvious isn't it?
I don't think most of the complainers even understand why they are complaining.
I smile every time I read "shady tactics". I wonder how many of these "straight arrows" are doing any business with Activision/Blizzard, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Take 2, Bethesda ... all having displayed real anti-consumer, manipulative and down-right scummy tactics.
If they do, their voice doesn't hold much weight, does it?
Without mentioning that in any business*, a time-exclusive sale (for any kind of event) is basic commerce. (And also increases the value of the item.)
*) Which BHVR is.
-
Sometimes survivors seem a bit too quick, but it's more difficult to detect.
The game should be able to determine that all by itself.
-
I meant "Blast Mine", I was half asleep when I've written that.

This is one of my favorite DBD phenomena. The more lazy, boring or low skill the killer tactic is, the worse it makes you look for dying to it. And yet in post game, you see the killer getting lambasted for being "trash".
It's like losing to in Street Fighter to kid spamming one button but then ripping on them for being bad.
Or my absolute fave, survs saying GGEZ after getting 4K'd. Priceless. Just quietly leave, you're just making yourself look ridiculous.
I've got a few of these this week. They bring a bad map offering, I use them as hatchet pin-cushions, half of them DC when they find themselves 3-slugged or countered in some way and then you get "baby killer", "ez", "l2p", "don't cry" in the lobby. I can't understand what goes through their head, beside room-temperature air.
That's kind of hilarious but I'm assuming they are all children, the not too bright kind.
-
It's more difficult than four perks but if you use a good item to help you with, it's very doable. Sprint-Burst is the best exhaustion perk, if you use it properly. And quick and quiet can help to bamboozle a killer or go stealth pretty well.
-
Survivor is way more chill than killer, so it's nice to relax a bit after a few stressful matches.
If you like killer better, you should still play survivor because it makes you a better killer (and killer a better survivor).
Also, if you keep on trying, you'll survive more and whatever you find difficult now you'll find easy later. (Same for killer)
Just don't go with the expectation to win. Go to try some specific task.
e.g. My last survivor games, I've been trying to multi-stun a killer using tripwire, flashbang and head-on, plus a pallet if I can squeeze it. I'm not surviving much (maybe 50% of my matches) but I'm having way more fun than just playing for gens and escapes.
(I'm mostly solo)

Wanting to be seasonal for the magic of celebrations? After six years?
I don't buy it.
People get their pine, Christmas log, eggnog, bacalao, panettone, cougnou, turkey, ... every year during December. That's what make them special.
And every year they are the same.
And every year it's the same old crap on TV with the same old songs.

I feel like its no more counter-intuitive as STBFL. You're killing all of their little friends. However it would make all of Michaels perks synergize really well for a non-tunnel build as youre only going to lose STBFL stacks if you attack the person last unhooked which might be a little too stronk.
Maybe, my ideas are a bit fuzzy after 23:00.
-
@Thusly_Boned said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3283656#Comment_3283656
Yeah, if you don't actually try to get away after being unhooked, or just stay in the killer's face after being unhooked, you're not being tunneled, you're being an idiot.
There's this insane notion among many that once they're unhooked, they should have total immunity until someone else is hooked, regardless of what they do, and if they aren't afforded it, the killer is at fault.
It's absurd.
Obviously.

This actually could be a cool dying light rework. When you hook a survivor they become the obsession and then getting a stack every time you hook a non-obsession.
That sounds a bit counter-intuitive, obsession-wise.
Maybe when you hook the obsession, another one becomes it (along with other incentives)
-
@DBDVulture said:

Tunneling is largely on the game design. What do you get for hooking three survivors one time? You get nothing. What do you get for hooking one survivor three times? Gen speeds are permanently reduced by 25% of their potential maximum.
Imagine one simple base kit change: If you hook a survivor that was not the last survivor hooked then all survivor actions (healing, generators, totems, doors, etc) are reduced by 4% per hook.
I perfectly understand the implications. I'm not afraid of tunnelling nor of camping. I just chose to adapt to my opponents (same when I play survivor). Tunnelling may be efficient but it's not the most interesting play (a bit like gen-rushing, gens-before-friends, ...). However, I try to only use tunnelling to tip the scales when required.
That base kit change seems like an idea in the right direction.
-
Of course it's sometimes on the survivor.
The number of times a survivor tried to body-block after an unhook, or jumped straight on a gen instead of healing (and then was found by the killer) is staggering.
As far as I'm concerned, I punish these moves religiously.

Perhaps it has something to do with the whole "new outfits will now receive iri shard prices 4 weeks after release" announcement followed by "btw, new outfits will only be available for 4 weeks".
Many people probably saved iri shards since July or whenever they did the poll for these outfits, and now get slapped in the face with waiting another year.
It feels kind of entitled to me. (Just trying to understand)
I believe the intent is to be seasonal and ephemeral, which is part of the "magic" of celebrations.
-
@BarnesFlam said:
Being seasonal doesn't excuse #########. There is nothing special about those outfits justifying those scummy time frames.
What I don't get is why you are so worked-up about this.
It's just skins. You want them, you get them. You don't want them, you don't. They have virtually no impact on gameplay.
If there is nothing special about them, even more reason not to care.
-
As for an hypothetical way for these icons to end up banning someone: if the icon is crafted, corrupted, it may somehow make the program bug and trip something for EAC to notice.
This kind of problem isn't unheard of. (If I recall, there was something with mp3 or jpg or both ... allowing to exploit a buffer overrun on Windows years ago)
-
Many fit that bill : Huntress, Nurse, Trapper, Trickster, Executioner, Doctor, Myers, Plague, Oni, Deathslinger, Blight, Nemesis and Dredge.
I usually play for fun. e.g. wasting time to try to push survivors in my traps, attempting trick-shots, scare-jumping, ...
Hag would have made that list was she not utterly broken at the moment (trap placement, no camera swing, ...).
-
Certainly higher than 50%. At equal skills, surviving should be a feat. (Otherwise it's boring, survivor not being the most demanding role to begin with)
It shouldn't be too high either as it may deter the more ... casual(?) players. Getting an average of 1 to 2 escapes seems to be the right goal.
I believe the current target is around 60% which sounds about right.
-
Why do you care about the comments of a bunch of brats? Their kind is the same that cry tears of salt or rage-quit when they get owned by a killer.
They are just losers too happy to have won something for once, as meaningless as it is.
Just move on, they aren't worth a second of your thoughts (or anyone's really).

Maybe but I feel like mine were all removed from my offering slot after the event was over but I'm definitely not 100% on that
No, I didn't change my build on a few killers and I've noticed these offerings still getting in the game (without any effect I believe).
To remove them, I had to chose another offering first because clicking on the obsolete offering itself has no effect.
-
Clown is better, hands down.
-
It's an excellent stealth perk. I've dropped chases so many times with it. (With Bite the Bullet, Overcome and Lucky Break)
-
I find Macmillans and Autoheaven to be pretty balanced for both roles. They may be my all-around favourites.
The Game and Midwich can both be very nice or very awful depending on the killer (be it as survivor or as killer).
-
In my experience its usage has dropped.
There is quite a few more Lithe and Sprint-burst than they used to be.

I dunno all DBD achievements are easily except killer adepts (because it's just a dice roll if you verse bad survivors) and that one where you have to finish the last gen and escape through a gate as the last survivor (bloody annoying lol)
If it was an achievement that I could say "my skill and knowledge made this possible" or "this achievement was possible every match but it was my fault" I wouldn't mind, but fact is some matches it's just impossible because of the survivors and gen speed... and that's what I dont like.
I dont mind challenges, it's why I do stupid things in games like the dead spaces, evil withins, resident evils etc. On the hardest difficulties meanwhile killer adepts dont feel like my skill earned it, just bad survivors making it possible
Evil incarnate, From the void she kills (or is it the other one), that one where you have to finish a gen all alone and exit by the door, ...
There are several difficult achievements that require both skills, luck and an opponent making a mistake. Long-range hatchets fall in that category.
There are a plethora of achievements requiring only luck.
Adepts require some skill and finding opponents that aren't too easy nor too hard.
(In my opinion of course)
-
I disagree. I usually enjoy a nice match better, and it means not playing like an ass.
However, if the opposing team doesn't play "for fun", it's very easy to turn the ass dial up to 11.
-
It's usually done around the end of the second tome, start of the third one.
-
It's way more difficult than the survivor's adept, but it's not too bad.
Achievements aren't supposed to be easy. In this case it's the survivor's side that's wrong.
If you compare it with other achievements in the game, it's not even average in term of difficulty or effort required.
-
Tunnel one out, go back to the hook to punish gens-before friends. Camp when appropriate.
Worst case scenario the game will be over fast and the next one may be more interesting.
I always try to play for fun but if survivors are too efficient or play gen-jockey above all else, going for maximum pain is OK too.

Great. Nothing but unbalanced prestige 100 sweat squads all day AND glitches
Ok then time to quit for another month again and see if they do anything to make the game playable >_>
My bad, I didn't notice.
-
As killer ... what killer?
And I believe it's a known issue. (Check the bug part of the forum)
-
I've just connected to check how many bugs were fixed by the hypothetical fix : Zero, nada, zilch, 零
Sigh ...
-
I certainly hope this can be fixed soon. I don't dare playing as Hag at the moment and I very much like to.
edit: I'm assuming this is a wide issue but just in case it's not, I'm playing on Windows 10 Pro/Steam.
-
I haven't noticed an increased number of rage-quits, not even of hook-suicides.
I would love if the it was punished more harshly right after the player has been downed or a hooked.
That being said, the game seems a tad more unstable since the last release. I've got it closing all by itself when starting and yesterday I've closed the game while in a lobby and I got a crash report window popping up.

For me it is more the double standard that NOTHING a Survivor does is ever unfair, but Killers need to play by some weird rules of honor.
Playing the Knight for a while seems to have killed the "play nice" rule I used to have, even when I use another killer.
On another hand, most of the teams I've versed last week are playing nasty (or stupidly aggressive). One guy complained I tunnelled one of them ... except they all played Meg with anonymised names. Geniuses, really.
