I don't understand why the recoil is there. I get it, he's throwing multiple projectiles at a time unlike Huntress and Deathslinger, but he's not firing a machine gun. Why can't he just look forward and not deviate, like a normal knife throwing guy would? It makes no sense gameplay-wise.

Every killer has something to react to except for maybe Slinger. Just because Spirit does too doesn’t make her dead.
It does. She's invisible and shouldn't be reactable, and now she is because of the directional sound cue. I can only imagine myself playing her with the strongest add-ons possible, because that's what she needs now to be viable.

She moves very fast though.
But you can react to it because of the sound cue now, unless she's using the strongest possible speed add-on, which makes it an even playing field for her. Even if she is fast, she can only be in one place at a time. If you drop a pallet from one side or another, or slow vault a window, she still has to guess which side you're on.

Buy doesn't fun come with when the game is balanced?
Competitive players reap the benefits of good balance, and casual players are (or should be) indifferent to the balance.
-
It wouldn't be pretty. Trapper has Padded Jaws, the chainsaw guys have Speed Limiter, and Hag has her collision add-ons and stuff like that.
-
No, she really isn't in a good spot. Survivors have control over her in chase except for maybe when she's using her strongest add-ons. I was hoping we were moving in a direction where killers would be getting stronger not weaker, but that's all a dream.

@Thrax said:
I agree it should be a hit to use not hit the check. Sometimes It would be better to wait a bit before doing it and with the pick and drop to avoid it DS has become less reliable.
It's completely unreliable. Has been for years now. The DS activates before you're even allowed to drop the survivor, so dribbling to play around DS isn't a thing anymore. And even if it was, dropping these days gives the survivors way too much wiggle progress each time.
-
Probably Ace.
-
If you're about using different abilities and skill, killer. If you just want to completely trounce your opponents after you reach a certain skill level, survivor.
-
Azarov's Resting Place. It's a coin flip always. Maybe the map gets split, maybe it gets 3-genned? Who knows?
-
What do you mean you can't do anything about it? When she's about to come out of phase, and you know when she is because you can hear her distance from you, you can start 360ing then run away and it will confuse her. Then her power's on cooldown for 15 seconds.
-
It's a shame when every pink or purple killer add-on that has a significant effect is considered "OP, needs nerfing".

I think it is cheat, because when you enter in a public lobby, if you are wearing a broken outfit, your skin is reseted to normal, in the survivor's side, you only need to enter with another character and you can use the broken outfit, but, with killer, you can't switch the killer and you can't play with broken outfits, I already tested it and doesn't work with killer
Is cheat.

I will also say that as a survivor, hitting the skill check feels engaging--like I'm actually stabbing someone! Between automatic escapes and tricking myself into thinking I'm more skilled than I am, I'll stick with the self-delusion, thank-you-very-much!
Please don't take my shoulder-stabbing simulator away...
You're THAT engaged in the game? Really? I guess we should all start playing that way, flying back in our seats when we get pallet stunned or covering our eyes when we get blinded. That's definitely what the game should be balanced around.

@Blue_Archer33 said:
I mean.. you said it yourself, right? It's considerably the most powerful anti-tunnel survivor perk.. so why should it NOT have some form of cost to activate?
Because it's stupid. Whether you get to use the perk (that you equipped) or not should not ride on a stuttery skill check. You brought the perk, you get picked up before 60 seconds after unhook without touching gens or totems, you earned it. Where's the skill check for Pop or for NOED? We don't have one, because we already equipped the perks and met their requirements, and any extra steps would be stupid.
-
No... You can't disconnect AND be dedicated. It's an oxymoron.
-
All of them?
-
You have hatch. The option for a free escape, and its points, is there.
-
It feels less bad when you know how common it is. Literally, anyone who doesn't play Wraith or doesn't main him, go play Wraith until you get high MMR, and when you get 0k after 1k after 0k games, then you'll be able to feel what humiliation the OP is talking about.

@Gyro said:
I'm not trying to purposely anger those who use Decisive Strike but, DS is the biggest baby perk this game has. The amount of survivors I see thinking that their top ######### and the best survivor main there ever because they hit one, simple skill check to stun me is baffling.
It's just one skill check, its really not that much. If you can't hit skill checks than dont use DS. If you don't like tunneling, than too bad. This game sometimes encourages tunneling cuz it's an actual viable strategy
But y'know, me as a Pyramid Head main I dont need to worry about such perks.
If it's a baby perk that you don't have to worry about because you're Pyramid Head, then why are you against this qol change that's not gonna affect high level players but will help casual and console players?
-
We're not entitled to a lore-exact Nemesis.
-
Sloppy is one of the worst picks these days, considering all that's available.
-
No gen defence perks except for Corrupt and Deadlock. It's literally not work the perk investment to regress gens. Just delay the gens as much as you can and hope the survivors throw the game and actually give you kills.
-
I'm still seeing tons of pallets per area on every map.
-
You're right about killer needing more skill. Survivor is mostly game knowledge. If I'm not losing all the time as survivor, which I am a lot right now, the game is just kind of easy and boring.
-
Everyone's bringing DS anyways. This just allows them to use the perk that they brought.
-
@Aurelle said:
I'm guessing because since it gives you a chance to escape the Killer's grasp, there has to be a trade off.
The trade off is equipping the perk. Imagine if Borrowed Time or Ruin didn't activate every time you used them, because you had to do some unnecessary extra thing.
-
@Kasamsky said:
Because it's damn funny to see someone fail it who was cocky the whole round.
But why should that be at the cost of everyone else who plays this game?
-
What I'm seeing from solo queue is this, constantly. Survivors have no awareness, are wanting to get slugged near people on hook, and make unsafe saves, and not do gens. Then they blame the killer or their "OP" perks for losing. Literally, drop pallets and push push push the gens, and you're getting 3 people out minimum. All gen-related killer perks can be overcome if you just commit to the gens hard enough. I'm tired of suffering losses to it, yet not experiencing it in my own survivor games. Get good, people.
-
Unless you're going against Leatherface, it is completely up to the survivors if the killer gets a kill from a face camp. The game will never give the killer the grab if y'all play it right, and the killer will be forced to commit to a hit because he thinks he's gonna get a grab, then once the guy gets unhooked the remaining healthy guy takes a body block and hits for the others, and then everyone runs out the gates. "But I don't have DS or BT." Get them.

The only content DBD has is 1 mode and killers. Not much there.
But there's so many killers, survivors, items, add-ons, offerings, and maps to use. Add that on top of randomized loops spawns. There's basically infinite possibilities. That's not much when compared to games outside of the multiplayer horror genre, but within this genre it's a lot.
-
I've never even heard of most of these people.

@Phasmamain said:
I love Friday the 13th but the game has 9 Jason’s and about 13 consoulers while dbd has like 23 of each. It has way less content
The ONLY advantage DBD has over other games is its amount of content.
-
The killer fov needs to be bigger and their attack hitbox needs to be more generous.
-
@YOURFRIEND said:
It doesn't really need the cooldown either.
I can imagine people complaining about that still. "It's so unfair! The killer gets multiple downs AND regresses the gens each time!" When that's literally their fault.
-
Saying killers are all good just because of the kill rate is so silly.
-
@anarchy753 said:
Because while the aim is 2 escapes 2 deaths, that doesn't actually translate into 50% escape rate.
If you have 0 kills, it is INCREDIBLY easy to bump that up to a 1k.
If you have 3 kills, there are simple plays like slugging that can bump that up to a 4k. At absolute worst it's a 50/50 that you find the hatch before the survivor to get the last kill.
When there are 5 outcomes for a match, and 2 of those present very simplistic situations that make them statistically better performances, even when the actual perfomance in the match is really no better at all, the percentage of deaths is going to be higher than 50% even when 50% of games are wins or losses for both sides.
It's never easy to get a kill unless you're Leatherface.
-
The nerf needs to be undone.
-
SWF isn't toxic. The people in one can be.

This explains why every Pig literally just stands up instead of dashing. Wasn’t aware it was that bad/useless.
She needs two add-on slots to be used for buffing her dash attack for it to be remotely usable, and some of those have stupid downsides like one that increases your dash speed by like 6% but increases the start-up time by 66%. The devs have a really bad habit of giving killers strong add-ons with massive downsides, or add-ons that barely do anything.
-
Since the devs absolutely failed at giving her good reason to use her dash attack, everything's riding on her headtraps, and they're good for tunneling because not doing so usually ends up in you getting 0 kills.
-
He was never powerful. He could have been, with a buff or two, but he got nerfed outta nowhere. I don't know what MMR y'all are playing where you're getting 4k's against the survivors every time, but it can't be very high. Keep playing, you'll see. Being invisible and fast is not enough to be a good killer, especially when his nerfed lunge is basically a net loss of distance on the survivors from how much he slows down on uncloak. He's got nothing. Survivors have complete control in chase.

I don't mean to come across that way...I am asking what you mean when you say toxic because people have different interpretations of it, as this guy made pretty evident:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2612771#Comment_2612771
The things you and he both mention are things that some people will end up doing regardless, and I feel you should be aware of that, and it won't help your experience to complain about it when it happens. I'm not trying to say "get over it" either, because I don't like those things either. I'm just saying that they're just thing that people will inevitably do and it would help you to think about them differently or ignore them entirely lest they drive you mad and make you want to quit the game.
I legit used to get mad at survivors putting up any offering, whether it BP offerings, which I took as them being cocky, or luck offerings, which I always responded to with "y'all have enough luck already!". It was so silly. If people would just be constructive and not think "everyone's out to ruin my day" when going against people who clearly aren't, there's way less frustration and more room for self-reflection.

Been doing it the entire time I’ve been playing him 🤡
I play many killers, so I know what I'm talking about. He has almost nothing going for him. Claims that he's OP or even strong literally come down to "he's invisible and fast, so must be OP." There's way more counterplay to him than that, and that's clearly observable.

Okay so I missed those out. I keep getting survivors that do all of the above, combined with ganging up and taking turns blinding me whilst I'm trying to hook, whilst also blocking the hook and teabagging. So yeah, I think that is pretty toxic.
Being altruistic or efficient or using items isn't toxic though. It's the behavior and the attitude that's toxic. If people all 4 get out because they abused BT and body blocked and blinded and all that, I'll be mad, but fair game to them because they didn't throw out an EZ. But when they abuse the power role that they have, and use it to say that you're a bad player rather than being humble, then that's toxic. I'll have friends who think the way you do, who go against a killer who never shook their head, camped, or tunneled, but hear it from them and they'll say, "That killer played like a b*tch. They're braindead." There's nothing constructive about that kind of negative feedback at all. It's literally just, "I lost and I'm mad, so my opponent must have done something wrong."
-
He should really go 110% or higher while in main event. The ability is self defeating because it locks you into slow speed with no way to vault windows either. I mean, compare that to Oni's, who can hold his btw instead of HAVING to use it within a 20-30 second window of getting it.
-
Body blocking and blinding isn't toxic. Being toxic means clicking, tbagging, and saying GG EZ.
-
It's gonna be the crow guy from Taxidermy (the horror game).

You started maining Huntress haven't you? Finally get to play dbd again and back to back Huntresses. If no... then who is your new main? I am curious to know who you picked as a new main. :)
No. I played Deathslinger because I didn't like Huntress that much and he was a nice alternative. Now he's just as unlikeable for me as her. Same delay shots, same huge TR.

The problem is, I've never seen someone complaining about wraith
Oh, they do. All the time, except for now because he just got nerfed. They say crap like, "He's so simple! Just uncloak, hit them, cloak, uncloak, then hit them again! Braindead killer!" Must be why Oracle beat Tru3's Wraith so easily, 5 games in a row.
